00:00:57.420 They have made some interesting statements about Israel and why we may have entered this conflict when we did.

00:02:26.120 Last episode on Monday, I was speaking and I was describing an article where they said that Marco Rubio had told the Gang of Eight, the different people in Congress he needs to inform,

00:02:39.720 that the reason we went to war with Iran when we did is that we knew Israel was going to strike with or without us.

00:02:49.200 And because they basically gave us this ultimatum of, look, we're going with or without you.

00:02:53.480 And once we move, they're going to hit you guys anyway, and you're going to drawn in.

00:02:56.820 So you might as well go with us.

00:02:58.200 Once they made that ultimatum, that kind of determined the timeline for us.

00:03:02.600 Now, it was Washington Post reporting, so I wasn't exactly sure if that was going to be accurate.

00:03:07.800 But then the administration was kind enough to come out and clarify exactly why we went to war when we did.

00:03:15.400 So let's listen to Marco Rubio.

00:03:16.960 The United States conducted this operation with a fair goal in mind.

00:03:20.720 I haven't got a chance to see a lot of reporting.

00:03:23.440 I don't understand what the confusion is.

00:03:25.340 Let me explain it to you, and I'll do it once again as clearly as possible.

00:03:28.500 Perhaps you'll report it that way.

00:03:30.440 The United States is conducting an operation to eliminate the threat of Iran's short-range ballistic missiles 0.79

00:03:36.180 and the threat posed by their Navy, particularly to naval assets.

00:03:39.980 That is what it is focused on doing right now, and it's doing quite successfully.

00:03:43.760 I'll leave it to the Pentagon and the Department of War to discuss the tactics behind that and the progress that's being made.

00:03:49.560 That is the clear objective of this mission.

00:03:51.780 The second question that I've been asked is, why now?

00:03:54.380 Well, there's two reasons why now.

00:03:55.700 The first is it was abundantly clear that if Iran came under attack by anyone, the United States or Israel or anyone,

00:04:02.400 they were going to respond and respond against the United States.

00:04:05.400 The orders had been delegated down to the field commanders.

00:04:08.260 It was automatic, and in fact, it bared to be true because, in fact, within an hour of the initial attack on the leadership compound,

00:04:17.640 the missile forces in the south and in the north, for that matter, had already been activated to launch.

00:04:22.760 In fact, those had already been prepositioned.

00:04:25.520 The third is the assessment that was made that if we stood and waited for that attack to come first before we hit them,

00:04:32.380 we would suffer much higher casualties.

00:04:34.900 And so the president made the very wise decision.

00:04:36.960 We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action. 0.57

00:04:39.960 We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces.

00:04:43.260 And we knew that if we didn't preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks,

00:04:47.160 we would suffer higher casualties and perhaps even higher those killed.

00:04:51.460 And then we would all be here answering questions about why we knew that indeed.

00:04:55.560 So I played that clip in its entirety for a reason.

00:04:58.760 It's Marco Rubio, in his own words, saying, yeah, we didn't like what Iran was doing.

00:05:04.360 We were thinking about military action.

00:05:06.200 But Israel said, we're going to go and you guys are going to get hit.

00:05:10.100 And we learned that if we go, that Iran is going to, if Israel goes, we're going to get struck. 0.72

00:05:17.000 They're going to retaliate by hitting our forces because we're stationed all over the Middle East.

00:05:22.500 And that's what's in range of them.

00:05:24.280 They obviously can't hit anything in the United States.

00:05:26.640 And they know that we're more or less propping up Israel. 0.62

00:05:30.860 And we figured it was better to hit Iran first than let them hit our troops. 0.98

00:05:52.340 And we don't have another choice because we're going to get pulled in anyway because of the way we've structured our foreign policy.

00:05:59.940 So, yeah, we just kind of went when Israel said to go, which is what happened last time with the war of Iran, right?

00:06:09.000 But then Israel said, we'll go by ourselves.

00:06:22.900 But obviously, many of us, myself included, worried that that one strike would turn into a more large-scale conflict, which, of course, we're here now.

00:06:33.160 So, I am equally concerned, just as I was back then, when I was right and predicted exactly where we would be right now, I am concerned that, similarly, we could end up in the same situation.

00:06:47.180 And the reason I played the entire clip was that many people were running around saying, people are taking Marco Rubio out of context.

00:06:57.760 So, I wanted the whole context because you'll notice that the account that posted this is the White House account.

00:07:13.020 They started and ended the information where they wanted.

00:07:21.700 So, I don't understand how anyone is taking this out of context.

00:07:25.820 Now, a lot of people went back and played more of the press conference, and you should go watch the whole thing, by all means.

00:08:34.000 Israel exists because the United States backs it, gives it massive amounts of military aid, gives it massive amounts of economic assistance back in the day, is a big trade partner for it, provides it diplomatic cover and geopolitical heft that otherwise would not have when it doesn't have the world hegemon behind it.

00:09:26.200 Because right after Marco Rubio came out and said this, Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, the Republican Speaker, came out and said the exact same thing.

00:09:42.360 So when it comes down to it, Israel doesn't need to check with the United States.

00:10:58.960 Marco Rubio and Mike Johnson were very clear, repeatedly, about why we went to war when we went to war.

00:11:09.280 And this comes on the heel of, remember, Mike Huckabee, a week beforehand, saying, yeah, Israel could take all of the Middle East if they want.

00:11:26.000 That our ambassador to this country said, yeah, the country I am, I'm supposed to be representing the United States to this country.

00:11:34.300 And that country that I am, you know, I am supposed to be representing the United States to, they can do whatever they want.

00:11:44.500 And a week later, we go into war when Israel says we should go to war because they pressured us in.

00:11:55.200 And now we have a more or less open-ended conflict with an ally our ambassador has said can conquer the entire Middle East if they want to.

00:12:12.740 And to further compound the, like, basically catastrophic PR issue this creates, on top of all the other questions it raises, Donald Trump then says, everybody go watch Sean Hannity.

00:12:33.600 Because Bibi Netanyahu is going to show up and he's going to tell you about the war.

00:12:37.440 So, so now we're being briefed on our war by a foreign leader.

00:12:47.720 The foreign leader is going to provide the briefing about the war we're currently already engaged in.

00:13:38.620 What we have to act now is because they were, after we hit their nuclear sites and their ballistic missiles program, you'd think they learned a lesson.

00:13:51.680 But they didn't because they're unreformable.

00:13:54.960 They're totally fanatic about this, about the goal of destroying America.

00:14:00.040 So they started building new sites, new places, underground bunkers that would make their ballistic missile program and their atomic bomb program immune within months. 0.67
