He also talks about the collapse of the Trump campaign and how it's time to get revenge on the people who brought this on. And finally, he takes a look at the latest NBC/ORC poll that shows Donald Trump losing ground to Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, which is not good news for Donald Trump. Transcript

00:00:00.000 During the second presidential debate on Sunday night, Donald Trump suggested he would appoint an attorney general and urge the new AG to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton's email malfeasance.
00:00:10.000 When Clinton protested that, quote, it's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country, Trump fired back, because he'd be in jail.
00:00:18.000 Which was funny.
00:00:19.000 The media, of course, went apoplectic.
00:00:21.000 How could Trump suggest he'd jail his opponents?
00:00:23.000 CNN's Dana Bash compared Trump to Stalin and Hitler.
00:00:26.000 Clinton's campaign manager, Pearl, clutched, quote, he was talking like he would become some dictator of a banana republic and throw her and his political enemies in jail.
00:00:33.000 This is, to put it mildly, very, very silly.
00:00:36.000 Trump didn't say that he'd single-handedly send a military squad to round up Hillary and her aides and then dump them in a darkened cell somewhere before beating confessions out of them.
00:00:44.000 He said there would be a real investigation and that he believes Hillary's guilty.
00:00:47.000 Both of these notions are plausible, and both are justified, given the FBI's ridiculously rigged investigation into Hillary's email server.
00:00:54.000 Trump never said due process ought to be discarded, or Hillary ought to be summarily executed.
00:00:58.000 Hillary's allies have for years suggested that politicians up to and including George W. Bush be frog-marched out of their abodes and into the gentle hands of law enforcement.
00:01:07.000 The media's sudden obsession with law and order is fascinating after years of covering up the Obama administration's routine violation of legal process.
00:01:14.000 From the IRS's targeting of conservatives, to the administration's targeting of journalists, to the Hillary investigation, the Obama administration has operated like a banana republic.
00:01:22.000 To target Trump over far milder statements is hypocrisy, to say the least.
00:01:27.000 But that's how the left operates.
00:01:28.000 It's not a banana republic if leftists administer the banana republic.
00:01:31.000 That's a pretty convenient standard for a group of people who would allow any Democrat to violate the law on a routine basis and then call anyone who complained disloyal.
00:01:40.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:01:40.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:01:46.000 Oh goody goody gumdrops!
00:01:47.000 So much to get to today including Donald Trump finally breaking loose of those chains I've been talking about for so long.
00:01:53.000 We'll get to all of it because no one said the apocalypse wouldn't be fun and we just said that it would be painful and both of those things are true.
00:02:01.000 Before we do that, obviously, we have to say hello to our friends at Birch Gold.
00:02:05.000 If you are worried about the impending doom of the country, then you might be interested in investing in precious metals.
00:02:11.000 The fact is, the economy right now is inflated in a couple of different ways.
00:02:14.000 In the real estate market, it's inflated.
00:02:16.000 In the stock market, it's inflated.
00:02:18.000 The Birch Gold Group is a place that you want to talk to if you want to take part of your portfolio and put it into precious metals.
00:02:22.000 Part of my portfolio is in precious metals.
00:02:25.000 These are folks that I would trust with this.
00:02:26.000 They have an A-plus rating with the Petter Business Bureau, and they know all about how you can move your IRA or 401k, if you want it, into precious metals.
00:02:33.000 You need to give them a call, Birch Gold Group, 800-496-6663, 800-496-6663.
00:02:35.000 Ask all your questions, get all your information, or go to birchgold.com.
00:02:43.000 Okay, so.
00:03:02.000 We'll begin today with Donald Trump.
00:03:04.000 So we'll get to Hillary Clinton in a little while because Hillary continues to be just a terrible, awful person.
00:03:08.000 There are new John Podesta emails showing that Hillary was coordinating apparently with the Department of Justice over her investigations.
00:03:15.000 There's an email that's been taken slightly out of context saying that Hillary doesn't like talking about everyday people, says she hates everyday people.
00:03:22.000 Some people are taking that slightly.
00:03:22.000 We're good.
00:03:33.000 I think so.
00:03:53.000 In a four-way race, he is down 11 points.
00:03:55.000 In a two-way race, he is down 14 points.
00:03:58.000 Second poll out today, nationally, in a two-way race, he is down 11 points.
00:04:01.000 There's gonna be another NBC poll that comes out today, updated after the debate.
00:04:05.000 It is not expected to look good for Donald Trump.
00:04:08.000 So...
00:04:08.000 Donald Trump today did what you would expect Donald Trump to do.
00:04:11.000 He's now playing the con game.
00:04:13.000 We talked about this yesterday, and it is.
00:04:14.000 It's a con now, OK?
00:04:15.000 Because Donald Trump knows he's going to lose, and he's got Steve Bannon at his wrist telling him, Donald, just be you.
00:04:21.000 Just be you.
00:04:22.000 Because we're going to take revenge on all the people who deserve the revenge.
00:04:26.000 This is no longer about winning.
00:04:28.000 This is about creating a narrative for Donald Trump.
00:04:29.000 So two things.
00:04:30.000 Donald Trump's doing two things in this con game.
00:04:33.000 The first thing that he's doing
00:04:35.000 Donald Trump fell apart because Donald Trump's a really bad candidate.
00:04:38.000 Donald Trump blew himself up after that first debate.
00:04:40.000 We talked about it here on the show.
00:04:41.000 He had pulled even in the polls.
00:04:42.000 He had all the momentum going into that first debate.
00:04:59.000 We're good to go.
00:05:27.000 He's now tweeting, and here's what Donald Trump is tweeting, okay?
00:05:29.000 This is all over the last 24 hours.
00:05:31.000 Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs, and illegal immigration, and not waste his time on fighting the Republican nominee.
00:05:38.000 Now, the reason Trump is going after Paul Ryan is because the Speaker of the House did a conference call with fellow Republicans where he basically said, look, I'm still supporting Donald Trump, but you're not going to see me out there defending him loudly, and you're not going to see me campaigning with him.
00:05:49.000 And the reason he's not going to do that is because he knows the toxicity of Donald Trump has down-ballot effects.
00:05:55.000 Okay, so we're now going to talk about the real world for just a second, then I'll explain what Trump is doing, okay?
00:06:00.000 Here's the real world.
00:06:01.000 The real world is that Donald Trump is going to lose.
00:06:03.000 I'm not going to tell you pretty stories, as I said yesterday.
00:06:05.000 You can go to a lot of places that tell you that Donald Trump is still on the verge of victory.
00:06:09.000 Everything is fine.
00:06:10.000 Everything is dandy.
00:06:11.000 If all the people would just jump on board, like Bill Mitchell or Mike Cernovich, say, then everything would just be spectacular.
00:06:17.000 If Laura Ingraham says that we're this close to victory, if Sean Hannity says that we are just on the verge, that this is the moment,
00:06:23.000 Then if everyone just jumped aboard, if they would stop with the stabbing in the back, Donald Trump would be fine.
00:06:28.000 No, he wouldn't.
00:06:28.000 Donald Trump is trashed.
00:06:29.000 He is toast.
00:06:30.000 That's his own fault.
00:06:31.000 He's a crappy candidate.
00:06:32.000 That's what's happening in the real world.
00:06:34.000 So, assume for a second that I and every number being put out are right, as opposed to people who think differently based on both lack of data as well as the crap that comes out of their face.
00:06:46.000 Okay?
00:06:47.000 Because there's certain of us that actually believe in evidence and statistics and reality, and certain people who apparently are more interested in purveying myths about the chances Donald Trump wins this election.
00:06:57.000 Right now, Donald Trump has less than a 20% shot of winning this election, according to FiveThirtyEight.
00:07:01.000 There are two separate polls that have him down double digits.
00:07:04.000 His average in the RealClearPolitics poll average, he is now down nearly 7 points in that race.
00:07:09.000 Sean Trent at RealClearPolitics basically called the race this morning.
00:07:12.000 He is losing in every single swing state with the exception of Iowa, and there have been no new state polls since the news of this tape broke and since that second debate.
00:07:20.000 Which, by the way, I thought he won, but the snap poll said that he lost.
00:07:23.000 So, okay, all that on the table.
00:07:25.000 Let's assume, just assume, for the sake of argument, that I'm right.
00:07:28.000 And all the data.
00:07:28.000 Let's assume for the sake of argument that what people think in their unicorn-filled heads is not true, and that data and statistics actually matter, and that you want to hear the truth.
00:07:36.000 Okay, so Trump is going to lose.
00:07:37.000 Assume that's right.
00:07:39.000 All of these other arguments no longer matter.
00:07:40.000 Okay, none of the arguments that we've been making for a year matter anymore.
00:07:43.000 They don't.
00:07:44.000 They only mattered in a close election.
00:07:45.000 Trump is better than Clinton.
00:07:47.000 Arguments irrelevant, he's going to lose.
00:07:49.000 The Supreme Court, irrelevant, and Donald Trump is actually attacking all of the senators he would need in order to ram through a conservative nominee anyway, so he never cared about it.
00:07:57.000 The 2005 tape is overblown.
00:07:59.000 Irrelevant, because people obviously don't think it's overblown.
00:08:02.000 Whether it's overblown, which is one issue, and there are people like Andrew Klavan who think it is, that's fine, but that doesn't change the reality.
00:08:09.000 Most Americans don't think it's overblown, and you can see it in the polls.
00:08:12.000 Americans are upset by it.
00:08:13.000 And second, morally speaking, you shouldn't go on national TV and downplay people talking about sexual assault.
00:08:19.000 Just as a general moral matter, it doesn't seem like a smart or decent thing to do.
00:08:24.000 Argument four.
00:08:24.000 Cucks!
00:08:25.000 You know, you're all cucks, right?
00:08:26.000 Everybody who's not backing Trump is a cuck.
00:08:28.000 Completely irrelevant if Donald Trump is losing, because I'll tell you something, there is nothing more cuckservative than handing the Congress over to Democrats because you're too mad to vote for people down-ballot who aren't endorsing Donald Trump.
00:08:40.000 And then finally, this is the establishment's fault, it's Paul Ryan's fault, it's the legend of the stab in the back, it's Paul Ryan's fault.
00:08:48.000 Paul Ryan is still supporting him.
00:08:49.000 Reince Priebus is still supporting him.
00:08:50.000 Mitch McConnell is still supporting him.
00:08:52.000 This is all on Trump, and it's all irrelevant anyway, because if Trump is losing, all that matters is whether other people lose with him.
00:08:58.000 All that matters is that you have a Republican Congress that is able to stymie Hillary in some way.
00:09:03.000 And let's not pretend, okay?
00:09:04.000 Let's not fall into this myth that there's no difference whether there's a Congress that's Republican or a Congress that's Democrat.
00:09:09.000 I've been disappointed by the Republican Congress, too.
00:09:12.000 They should have done more to stymie Obama on spending.
00:09:15.000 They should have done more to stop the Iran deal.
00:09:16.000 That was a disgrace.
00:09:17.000 They should have done more to stop Obama on executive amnesty.
00:09:20.000 That was disgraceful.
00:09:21.000 All of that said, all of that said, things are a lot worse when Democrats run all the branches of government.
00:09:26.000 Do you not remember Obamacare?
00:09:27.000 Do you not remember the stimulus package?
00:09:29.000 Do you not remember the tax increases?
00:09:30.000 Okay, lots of bad things happen when Democrats run all the branches of government.
00:09:34.000 So if just out of pure spite, you decide that Democrats should run the entire government,
00:09:38.000 Because you love Donald Trump so much, let me recommend that you take a second thought at that.
00:09:43.000 Okay, so now Donald Trump is in a situation.
00:09:45.000 Donald Trump knows that he's got a problem and that he's falling apart.
00:09:50.000 And so he has to somehow preserve the myth that he is a big winner.
00:09:53.000 He's a huge winner.
00:09:54.000 He's going to win bigly if he had not been stabbed in the back.
00:09:56.000 So that means he's going to do two things now.
00:09:58.000 Okay, he's going to do two things.
00:09:59.000 Thing number one that Donald Trump is going to do is he's going to claim that everybody is stabbing him in the back, right?
00:10:04.000 It's all a stab in the back and he's by himself.
00:10:06.000 Okay, this is a Breitbart routine.
00:10:08.000 This is a Steve Bannon routine.
00:10:09.000 I know Steve.
00:10:09.000 Steve wants everything to burn.
00:10:11.000 He's only interested in burning everything down.
00:10:13.000 Burning everything down sounds like a lot of fun until it turns out you're inside the house.
00:10:17.000 Okay, right now, we're all inside the house because we have to live in this country together, and it turns out that Hillary and her Democrats running the country does not seem like a good plan.
00:10:25.000 So, here's what Donald Trump is tweeting.
00:10:27.000 Remember, we're 27 days from an election.
00:10:28.000 He's more interested in knocking Republicans out of Congress than in allowing Republicans to stop Hillary Clinton because he knows he's going to lose.
00:10:35.000 All he cares about is his ego.
00:10:36.000 So here's Trump.
00:10:37.000 Despite winning the second debate in a landslide, it is hard to do well when Paul Ryan and others give zero support.
00:10:42.000 One point something out.
00:10:43.000 I'm old enough to remember when Donald Trump said he didn't need anybody else's support.
00:10:47.000 He didn't need Paul Ryan's support or Ted Cruz's support.
00:10:49.000 He didn't need the establishment's support.
00:10:51.000 Winning against Hillary was gonna be so easy.
00:10:54.000 And then he built no campaign infrastructure and relied on the RNC and is whining when Paul Ryan still endorses him but won't go out and campaign for him in the aftermath of a tape that would absolutely devastate the Republicans down ballot.
00:11:05.000 Okay, that's not all from Donald Trump.
00:11:06.000 He says this,
00:11:13.000 So now we're no longer worried about winning.
00:11:15.000 Now we're worried about disloyalty.
00:11:17.000 We've got Trump over here in the Führer bunker, as everything burns around him, saying that every candidate must go down with him.
00:11:24.000 Every candidate must go down with him to demonstrate loyalty.
00:11:27.000 All that matters is loyalty.
00:11:28.000 Donald Trump does not get to talk about loyalty to Republicans, when in the first place, he was the guy who threatened running third party throughout the primaries, and in the second place, he's now, in the middle of an election cycle, ripping everybody on the down ballot.
00:11:40.000 I never supported Donald Trump, but I always said vote down ballot, and I always said that if you want to vote Donald Trump to stop Hillary, I understand.
00:11:47.000 I have my own assessment of the risk, but I understand what you're doing.
00:11:50.000 Donald Trump is talking loyalty.
00:11:51.000 The only loyalty Trump cares about is loyalty to Donald Trump.
00:11:54.000 And then finally, Donald Trump finished up with a couple more tweets.
00:11:58.000 This one particularly said, it is so nice the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to.
00:12:04.000 So let me just point something out.
00:12:05.000 If you've been watching this show, you know how hilarious this is to me personally because I've been saying for literally months now that Donald Trump was chained up in a basement by Kellyanne Conway and eventually he would escape and trample the small children.
00:12:18.000 This is what I wrote for an actual syndicated column September 21st.
00:12:21.000 Quote, like a pent-up movie monster chained to the wall of a dank dungeon, Trump's aggression waits and lurks.
00:12:27.000 Quote, it is so nice the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to.
00:12:32.000 And I believe we do have a live shot actually from Trump Tower right after he tweeted this.
00:12:56.000 And Trump is loose.
00:12:57.000 And there you have it.
00:12:58.000 The Republican Party thought that they could contain Trump.
00:13:00.000 Paul Ryan thought they could contain Trump.
00:13:02.000 Everybody thought Trump was containable and controllable, and that they would be able to use him in order to get ahead, and it turns out that Trump, in the end, is just Trump.
00:13:10.000 It turns out that Trump, in the end, is just Trump.
00:13:11.000 Here's something I wrote August 18th.
00:13:13.000 I haven't been right about everything in this election, but since the primaries ended, not to say that I was right about everything, but I kind of was.
00:13:19.000 August 18th at the Hill, quote, Trump wants to go out on his own terms, and those terms will be fully Trumpian.
00:13:25.000 Which means that Trump will get Trumpier.
00:13:26.000 The let-Trump-be-Trump angle always attracted Trump since he's a narcissist.
00:13:30.000 Now he'll get to play out his fantasies with Steve Bannon screaming, that's genius, in his ear every few hours.
00:13:35.000 Never mind what happens to the Republican Senate and House.
00:13:37.000 The campaign has been Trump's plaything.
00:13:39.000 He'll play with it until the batteries go dead.
00:13:42.000 Okay, there's a report today from Robert Costa at the Washington Post.
00:13:44.000 What is Trump doing?
00:13:45.000 He's holed up at the top of Trump Tower.
00:13:47.000 And at the top of Trump Tower, he is tweeting out with Steve Bannon at his side.
00:13:53.000 So, you know, this is just, it's devastating all the way around.
00:13:57.000 It's just, it's just awful.
00:13:59.000 It's awful.
00:14:00.000 And this is what you get when Trump is the standard, Barry, for a party about whose principles he simply doesn't care.
00:14:07.000 And everybody who's arguing—look, I can see people arguing with me in the comments that Trump is still the big winner.
00:14:11.000 Okay, fine.
00:14:12.000 If you want to believe in this fantasy world that Trump is still going to win, and that the only thing that stops Trump is people like me, and that if it were only for us jumping on board, you can live in that delusional world, I suppose.
00:14:21.000 I just don't see how it's going to help.
00:14:23.000 Laura Ingraham is living in that delusional world, too.
00:14:27.000 Laura Ingraham had a piece today, and it's just a stupid, stupid piece.
00:14:30.000 Laura, she's an intelligent woman, but whatever drugs she's been taking during this campaign have done something.
00:14:36.000 She says, a memo to the anti-Trump pro-globalization wing of the GOP.
00:14:40.000 The day after a strong debate performance by your party's nominee, you decided not to celebrate it, but to dismiss and distract from it.
00:14:46.000 You called your friends in the press and told them about the coming GOP stampede away from Trump.
00:14:50.000 Well, no, actually.
00:14:51.000 The GOP stampede happened on Saturday before the debate, Laura.
00:14:53.000 She said, if you succeed in helping Democrats elect Hillary Clinton, you, not he, will be held responsible for losing the Supreme Court and busting up the Republican Party.
00:15:00.000 Again, they're rewriting history as it's happening.
00:15:03.000 It's Trump's fault he's losing.
00:15:04.000 It's always the candidate's fault when he lost.
00:15:06.000 I'm old enough to remember when Mitt Romney lost.
00:15:09.000 There was no talk about all the people who stayed home for Mitt Romney.
00:15:12.000 There was lots of talk about how Romney blew the second debate, how he ran a weak campaign, how he should have attacked
00:15:17.000 Barack Obama more.
00:15:19.000 I don't remember anybody saying, all those people who didn't show up for Romney, that was truly a stab in the back to Mitt Romney.
00:15:24.000 I really don't remember that.
00:15:25.000 Do you?
00:15:26.000 I don't.
00:15:27.000 When a candidate loses, it's on the candidate.
00:15:29.000 End of story.
00:15:30.000 But again, Trump is doing two things.
00:15:32.000 The first thing that he's doing is he's saying that he was stabbed in the back.
00:15:35.000 And we'll get to the second thing in just a moment.
00:15:37.000 But first, we have to say hello to our friends at Helix Sleep.
00:15:40.000 If you ever want to get a great mattress at a really affordable price, Helix Sleep is the way to go.
00:15:45.000 HelixSleep.com slash Ben.
00:15:47.000 Helix Sleep runs a 3D biochanical model of your body through a proprietary algorithm that they've developed.
00:15:53.000 You can go on their website, and you talk about what kind of mattress you like, what your body type is, how much you weigh.
00:15:59.000 They customize the mattress, and then they send it to you in the mail.
00:16:02.000 We have one, and it's fantastic.
00:16:04.000 It's super-duper comfortable.
00:16:05.000 It inflates, basically.
00:16:07.000 You take it out of the box, and you take it out of the packaging.
00:16:10.000 The air hits it and it inflates, and it's incredibly comfortable, and the cost on it is really great.
00:16:15.000 A really great mattress costs you like $5,000 or $10,000.
00:16:17.000 This thing costs you like $1,000 maybe, and it's fantastic.
00:16:22.000 It arrives at your door in a week, and shipping is 100% free, and then you sleep on it for 100 nights,
00:16:28.000 And if you don't like it, they give you a 100% refund, no questions asked.
00:16:31.000 So there's no risk involved at all.
00:16:32.000 It's HelixSleep.com.
00:16:34.000 Ben, I have one of these mattresses.
00:16:35.000 I sleep on one of these mattresses.
00:16:36.000 It's truly comfortable, and it's really great.
00:16:39.000 So I recommend this very, very highly.
00:16:41.000 Okay, so the number one thing Trump is doing
00:16:46.000 It's all their fault.
00:16:47.000 It's not Trump's fault.
00:16:49.000 It's their fault.
00:17:02.000 Here's a little secret, Megan.
00:17:03.000 A lot of these bed-wetting, hand-wringing Republicans, they're not afraid Donald Trump is going to lose.
00:17:10.000 They're scared to death he's going to win.
00:17:12.000 And if he wins, he's going to mess up the neat little package of fun they have, because they all play to the donor class, and Donald Trump is coming to make big changes in the way that these institutions go.
00:17:25.000 Okay, and he's saying that's really what's happening, right?
00:17:28.000 People are opposing Trump because they're afraid that he's going to win?
00:17:30.000 No, the reason that people are opposing Trump is because they're afraid he's going to drag them to a loss.
00:17:35.000 People don't want to hug an electrical fire while it's raging.
00:17:38.000 It turns out that clutching a landmine to your chest may not be the best electoral strategy.
00:17:43.000 And you know how you can tell?
00:17:45.000 The way you can tell is when he was doing well in the polls, nobody was running from him, were they?
00:17:48.000 Where is the big exodus?
00:17:50.000 If they were so afraid of Trump winning, why didn't they leave him three weeks ago when he was doing well in the polls?
00:17:54.000 They waited until he was doing badly, and they were afraid he was going to drag them down.
00:17:57.000 So we're just saying obviously untrue things now, that he's being stabbed in the back and all the rest.
00:18:01.000 Bill O'Reilly is trotting out this claim that the media are trying to crush Donald Trump as well.
00:18:05.000 Here's Bill O'Reilly, and Trump tweeted this particular clip out.
00:18:08.000 It's a complicated situation, but I think everyone can agree, except for the media organizations that now have ordered their employees to destroy Trump.
00:18:16.000 There's at least three of them.
00:18:18.000 And I can't say who they are right now, because I don't have it nailed down, but I am 100% convinced.
00:18:24.000 And these media organizations have actually put out, if you support Trump, your career is done here.
00:18:42.000 Of course.
00:19:12.000 I think it's important for people to know what's happening in real time and for people to pay attention to the realities of what's happening in real time, not just the rosy depictions that you're going to see over at Breitbart or on Fox News at a certain particular time in the evening.
00:19:24.000 Dailywire.com if you want to subscribe.
00:19:26.000 Eight bucks a month.
00:19:27.000 And we have some goodies that are coming for people who are subscribers, that's coming in the next week.
00:19:33.000 Plus, you get the podcast and you get the rest of it live and you get all sorts of goodies, including being part of the mailbag.
00:19:39.000 You can be part of Andrew Klavan's show as well.
00:19:41.000 He has a more upbeat version of what's going on, because it's hard to find a more downbeat one today, isn't there?
00:19:45.000 So, anyway, go over to dailywire.com and become a subscriber right now.
00:19:54.000 Okay, so in order for this to be true, in order for it to be true that Donald Trump is losing because people are being mean to Donald Trump, in order for that to be true, then Trump actually has to be doing a competent job.
00:20:07.000 It has to be a competent campaign.
00:20:08.000 It can't be that his campaign is just blowing it.
00:20:11.000 Unfortunately, we have video evidence that this is untrue.
00:20:13.000 Here is a Trump surrogate trying to defend the 2005 tape.
00:20:18.000 Eighty million copies of Fifty Shades of Grey was sold.
00:20:22.000 Magic Mike was one of the most popular movies.
00:20:24.000 That was a consensual relationship?
00:20:25.000 I didn't read the book, but I assume that was a consensual relationship.
00:20:27.000 No, it was not all the time, and the things that were done were not.
00:20:31.000 You look at the Vampire trilogy.
00:20:33.000 Unfortunately, it's become a very interesting pop culture itself.
00:20:36.000 It's become very stretched in these areas.
00:20:42.000 Okay.
00:20:43.000 Fifty Shades of Grey came out in... Any guesses, folks?
00:20:46.000 What year did Fifty Shades of Grey come out in?
00:20:47.000 Taylor, you're the one most likely to know.
00:20:49.000 What year did Fifty Shades of Grey come out in?
00:20:54.000 The book.
00:20:54.000 The book.
00:20:55.000 No one cares about the movie.
00:20:57.000 2011.
00:20:58.000 Okay?
00:20:58.000 Donald Trump's tape came out in 2005.
00:21:01.000 So she's blaming a book that came out six years after Donald Trump said his stuff for Donald Trump saying his stuff.
00:21:06.000 Okay, also, I wasn't aware that the protagonist of Fifty Shades of Grey was running for president.
00:21:10.000 I wasn't aware of that one at all.
00:21:12.000 But apparently that's the case.
00:21:13.000 Okay, this is what we call bad surrogacy.
00:21:16.000 Ben Carson did some more bad surrogacy today when he went on TV and said, well, you just don't know.
00:21:20.000 He said this to, I think it was Dana Bash at CNN.
00:21:22.000 He said, you just don't know enough guys who brag about their sexual exploits the way Donald does.
00:21:26.000 I know plenty of them.
00:21:26.000 It's like, oh my God, this is supposed to be, yeah, you're going to win female voters.
00:21:29.000 This is the way to win female voters.
00:21:31.000 Again, forget about true and false.
00:21:32.000 True and false have no relationship to this particular election.
00:21:35.000 Okay?
00:21:36.000 Let me explain.
00:21:36.000 If a man walks up to a woman and grabs her by the bleep without her permission, that is definitionally sexual assault.
00:22:01.000 By definition, that is sexual assault, and it doesn't matter if later she didn't quote-unquote object—they let you do it, right, as Trump said.
00:22:08.000 How do you know they let you do it?
00:22:10.000 How do you—consent has to be given beforehand.
00:22:13.000 You know how I know that I can have sex with my wife?
00:22:15.000 Because she's my wife.
00:22:16.000 That's how I know that.
00:22:18.000 And because there are certain things that I know about how my wife acts that imply consent, okay?
00:22:25.000 Walking up to a random woman and grabbing her by the woohoo is not exactly a consensual relationship.
00:22:29.000 And anybody who's implying this, it's so stupid and it undermines you with your female base.
00:22:33.000 Okay, here's another one.
00:22:34.000 Here's a Trump fan on CNN trying to talk up Donald Trump.
00:22:38.000 Yes, but that is wrong, absolutely.
00:22:43.000 But here's the thing, he's not running to be the Pope.
00:22:45.000 Look at the culture of our country.
00:22:48.000 When Bill Clinton was president, my children came home from school and they had no idea it was actually called the Oval Office.
00:22:55.000 They thought it was called the Oral Office because of the talk in the elementary schools.
00:23:01.000 Okay, and so is this helpful?
00:23:03.000 So your argument is, it was bad when Bill Clinton was president because they called it the oral office, so we definitely, definitely have to vote for the guy who says you should grab women by the pee.
00:23:13.000 Yeah, that sounds just wonderful.
00:23:15.000 And here's another Trump supporter on scene, again.
00:23:17.000 In order to believe that Trump is being stabbed in the back, you have to believe he's running a magnificent campaign, and that he's losing only because he's being stabbed in the back.
00:23:24.000 Just like in 1919, people believed the Germans were winning on the front, and it was only the people on the home front who were stabbing them in the back.
00:23:31.000 Here's a Trump supporter on CNN, and here's their excuse for this tape.
00:23:35.000 Hillary Clinton expresses that she finds the language on that bus horrific, but in fact, she likes language like this, quote,
00:23:44.000 I came to slay, bitch.
00:23:45.000 When he F me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster.
00:23:48.000 Did she say that?
00:23:49.000 That happens to be a line from Beyonce.
00:23:51.000 Her favorite performer, whom she says she idolizes and would like to imitate.
00:23:57.000 So, you know what I'm saying to you?
00:24:00.000 There's a lot of hypocrisy in Hillary Clinton expressing such horror.
00:24:05.000 Okay, let me just express something here.
00:24:09.000 This is not a good argument.
00:24:10.000 Okay, there are plenty of things Hillary Clinton has said herself that would be a good comeback in saying that this is hypocritical.
00:24:16.000 But her liking Beyonce lyrics, I'm afraid that that one is just not going to do well.
00:24:19.000 We deconstruct culture every week here on the program.
00:24:23.000 And I agree, the culture is degraded.
00:24:25.000 That does not mean that you should be able to start grabbing women by the woohoo.
00:24:31.000 Just putting that out there.
00:24:33.000 So Trump's whole impression he's trying to give out, we're a campaign that's not in chaos, we're a campaign moving forward, and then people are just cutting us off at the knees.
00:24:41.000 They're cutting us off at the knees.
00:24:42.000 In order for you to believe that, though, you have to believe that the real reason people are undercutting you is not because you're unsuccessful, and not because you're dragging them down.
00:24:49.000 The real reason that people are undercutting you, the real reason that people are hurting you, is because you are too conservative.
00:24:55.000 So now Donald Trump has to rewrite himself as a conservative, right?
00:25:01.000 That's the new rule.
00:25:02.000 He has to be so conservative that he's going to say, oh, the real reason Paul Ryan doesn't support me, the real reason that Paul Ryan is being mean to me is not because I'm a bad candidate who's dragging down all the other candidates.
00:25:12.000 That's the real reason, gang.
00:25:13.000 The real reason he's not doing it openly, the real reason he's trying to undercut me is because I'm just too hot for him to handle, gang.
00:25:19.000 I am just too hot under the collar.
00:25:21.000 I'm too much of a fighter.
00:25:22.000 He can't handle the fight in me.
00:25:23.000 You know, he wants to—it's the Alex Jones routine.
00:25:26.000 I'm not gonna unbutton my shirt and start screaming like a banshee, but, you know, that's the idea.
00:25:32.000 Right?
00:25:33.000 That's what Trump is doing.
00:25:33.000 Okay, so.
00:25:39.000 Here is Donald Trump doing that routine last night.
00:25:42.000 Suddenly Donald Trump has turned into a fire-breathing conservative.
00:25:44.000 He's going to feed every bit of red meat to every Breitbart commenter he can find.
00:25:48.000 And then he's going to say, the real reason the establishment is running from me is because they can't handle the fire!
00:25:53.000 They can't handle it!
00:25:55.000 Fusion pills!
00:25:56.000 Right?
00:25:56.000 That's the idea here.
00:25:57.000 So here is Donald Trump last night bringing up Teddy Kennedy.
00:26:01.000 They don't want to talk about what their other political heroes have done to other innocent girls and women.
00:26:09.000 People like Kennedy, chapter 20, we remember that.
00:26:14.000 Driving his car into a barn instead of calling the police.
00:26:18.000 Possibly saving her life.
00:26:20.000 In fact, almost definitely being able to save her life.
00:26:23.000 He went home and went to sleep.
00:26:25.000 Did not report the incident to the police for 10 hours.
00:26:29.000 Yet he was hailed as a hero.
00:26:32.000 The last 72 hours has framed what this election is all about.
00:26:51.000 Okay, the real reason people oppose Donald Trump is because right now the logic of this election has come down to Donald Trump is losing and dragging everyone down with him, like Mary Jo Kopechny, politically into a river, okay?
00:27:02.000 This idea that Donald Trump is just being ignored because he's too hardcore is such unbelievable horse crap.
00:27:09.000 The man was giving money to Democrats until five minutes ago, said Hillary Clinton was a great Secretary of State and a great Senator, probably voted for her, okay?
00:27:16.000 This whole thing is just, it's...
00:27:19.000 The rewriting of history in real time is frustrating to me, as you may have noticed.
00:27:22.000 I don't like it.
00:27:24.000 I like when people tell the truth in real time, but they're rewriting history as it happens because they know that they have to cover.
00:27:29.000 So Trump has to cover in order to preserve his career post this election cycle.
00:27:33.000 He has to have two or three million people who believe that he was absolutely stabbed in the back, and if it hadn't been for those evil conservative establishment figures who just couldn't handle the kind of fire he liked to breathe, he would have been fine.
00:27:43.000 So he starts going after Teddy Kennedy.
00:27:45.000 Let me just point something out.
00:27:46.000 Right now he's ripping Teddy Kennedy.
00:27:48.000 If you found out tomorrow that Donald Trump had driven off a bridge with a woman in the back into a river and left her to die, the same people who are defending Donald Trump today would be defending him tomorrow saying, well, Teddy Kennedy did it and you didn't see the Democrats dump their man, did you?
00:28:02.000 Okay, but that's not all.
00:28:04.000 Trump is, again, he has to trot out the red meat because he has to, to reiterate, do two things.
00:28:10.000 One, I've been stabbed in the back.
00:28:11.000 Two, the reason I've been stabbed in the back is not because I'm a horror show.
00:28:14.000 I've been stabbed in the back because I'm just too conservative.
00:28:16.000 I'm just too much of a fire breather.
00:28:18.000 So here is Donald Trump at his rally last night and the crowd chanting CNN sucks.
00:28:22.000 They are so dishonest.
00:28:30.000 Yes, sir!
00:28:36.000 I agree CNN sucks, but this is clearly just a way to rouse his base.
00:28:40.000 Any independent voters out there who are looking at this and going, you know what, that seems like a movement I desperately need to be a part of.
00:28:46.000 He's down 11 points.
00:28:47.000 Does this seem like the move of winter to you?
00:28:50.000 That's not what he's trying to do.
00:28:51.000 He's trying to rewrite his credentials so that when people oppose him, or when people run away from him, or when people say I don't want to be associated with him, he can say the real reason you don't is because you're in the pocket of people like CNN.
00:29:01.000 You're being paid off to do all this.
00:29:04.000 That wasn't the only thing that he did.
00:29:05.000 And then he also finally dropped the line.
00:29:07.000 I'm old enough to remember when Donald Trump and his campaign surrogates said that when people would chant, lock Hillary up, lock her up, at his rallies, he would say, no, instead, just beat her at the polls.
00:29:17.000 I remember when Rudy Giuliani said that at the RNC.
00:29:20.000 Now Trump is openly cheering, lock her up, because again, he needs his rabid base to believe that the reason people oppose him is because he's too hardcore.
00:29:40.000 Now what's all this designed to do?
00:29:49.000 What's all this designed to do?
00:29:54.000 It certainly isn't designed to win.
00:29:55.000 Again, it's designed to change the narrative about why he's losing.
00:30:02.000 According to Trump now, he's losing because he's been undercut by the cucks, and not because he's a terrible candidate.
00:30:07.000 And that's why you should continue to destroy the rest of the Republican Party from the inside.
00:30:12.000 Because what does it matter?
00:30:13.000 If they lose anyway, they're a bunch of cucks.
00:30:15.000 If I lose, they should lose.
00:30:17.000 It's really, it's devastating and that's why I think it's important for people not to buy into these myths, okay?
00:30:22.000 Let's stop buying into the myths.
00:30:23.000 And these are myths.
00:30:25.000 Right now, everything that Trump is doing is the creation of new mythology.
00:30:30.000 If you don't buy into the myths,
00:30:32.000 Then we can actually stop Hillary Clinton.
00:30:33.000 If you do buy into the myths, then we're toast.
00:30:36.000 If you believe these two myths, that Trump is this close to winning, except for these dissenters, and second, that Trump's losing G.O.
00:30:41.000 Peters because he's anti-Hillary, not because he's garbage, you are more likely to fall into the trap of voting Trump at the top of the ticket, ignoring the rest of the ticket, and destroying the Republican Party in the process.
00:30:51.000 By the way, if the Republicans lose the House and the Senate,
00:30:54.000 All the people who want to watch everything burn like Steve Bannon, they're going to get their wish because all of the Trumpkins will blame Reince Priebus and Paul Ryan, both Trump supporters, for not having supported their man sufficiently.
00:31:04.000 And all of the other conservatives will blame those guys for having jumped on the bandwagon and allowed Trump to take the nomination in the first place.
00:31:11.000 So if there's no check on Hillary Clinton, things are going to get so ugly so fast it'll make everybody's head spin.
00:31:17.000 Now, meanwhile,
00:31:18.000 If we had a candidate who wasn't an absolute horror show, if we had a candidate who wasn't busy attacking Paul Ryan instead of Hillary Clinton, if we had a candidate who didn't have a history replete with saying stupid things on tape, saying nasty, evil things on tape, if we had a candidate who didn't spend the entire primary cycle and election cycle ripping on Mexican judges and going soft on the KKK and making lewd comments about women, if we had that,
00:31:44.000 This campaign would be over, and we would have won already, okay?
00:31:47.000 Because here's what's going on with Hillary Clinton.
00:31:49.000 John Podesta's emails have been hacked.
00:31:51.000 Those emails are now hitting the web.
00:31:52.000 We now know that Hillary's campaign was coordinating with the DOJ.
00:31:56.000 We now know that Hillary did not turn over her thumb drive to State.
00:32:00.000 She turned it over to the DOJ.
00:32:02.000 And Hillary still has no good excuses for anything that she's doing.
00:32:06.000 Hillary still has no good excuses for her behavior toward Bill's accusers.
00:32:10.000 Hillary Clinton is flailing about, but it doesn't matter because the explosion of Donald Trump over here, she's over here hitting herself in the face with a frying pan, and Donald Trump is over there setting off a nuclear bomb on his chest and wiping out all civilization within a 10-mile radius.
00:32:26.000 Hillary Clinton, for example, here she is last night.
00:32:28.000 It's just, God, it's so terrible this election.
00:32:31.000 Here's Hillary Clinton saying, Trump should have been apologizing, not attacking me.
00:32:34.000 Now I'll tell you what!
00:32:39.000 Donald Trump spent his time attacking when he should have been apologizing.
00:32:52.000 Now there are a lot of things he should apologize for, right?
00:32:58.000 And on Friday, the whole world heard him talking about the terrible way he treats women.
00:33:05.000 Okay, so what would Trump's response be in even a normal world?
00:33:09.000 He's too busy attacking Paul Ryan.
00:33:10.000 He should be on the stump and he should say her husband was raping people and she was defending it, right?
00:33:14.000 He should be making the issue against her.
00:33:16.000 He's too busy going up against Paul Ryan on Twitter.
00:33:19.000 Meanwhile, all of Hillary's surrogates are showing just how much they hate women.
00:33:22.000 Joy Behar.
00:33:23.000 Who's just a horror show of a human being on The View.
00:33:26.000 She's attacking Hillary's supposed victims or alleged victims.
00:33:29.000 And here's Joy Behar.
00:33:30.000 Just I mean, this is astounding that this gets set on national TV.
00:33:33.000 And since she's a Democrat and Hillary's a Democrat, they get away with it.
00:33:36.000 I wonder why she didn't have.
00:33:38.000 That's why when he brought up this these allegations, I wonder if.
00:33:42.000 She missed the opportunity to address it in a way that the public would understand.
00:33:48.000 That that's just not how you behave.
00:33:51.000 I would like to apologize to those tramps that have slept with my husband.
00:33:56.000 Maybe she could have said that.
00:34:00.000 Okay, those tramps who slept with my husband, maybe I can apologize.
00:34:02.000 Okay, first of all, one of the women there was a girl who was raped at 12.
00:34:06.000 And a couple of the women there, Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey, were sexually abused by her husband, allegedly.
00:34:11.000 But she just calls them tramps.
00:34:13.000 And everybody laughs.
00:34:13.000 The Democrats laugh.
00:34:15.000 And then they claim that there's a war on women from the right?
00:34:17.000 Then they claim there's a war on women from the right?
00:34:19.000 Why isn't Donald Trump going full-fledged on that?
00:34:22.000 No, he's too busy hitting Paul Ryan.
00:34:24.000 Whoopi Goldberg does the same thing on the same show.
00:34:26.000 No problem.
00:34:26.000 Everybody laughs.
00:34:29.000 Again, she is the victim here.
00:34:32.000 She's the victim here.
00:34:33.000 And they were saying that she attacked some of those women.
00:34:36.000 They're lucky.
00:34:37.000 I mean, I don't know about y'all.
00:34:41.000 But if someone slept with your man, or your man, or your man, or your man, I do believe it would not be as polite.
00:34:50.000 It wouldn't be polite.
00:34:51.000 It wouldn't be polite.
00:34:52.000 We would not be cute and like, oh, we're so soft.
00:34:55.000 Nah.
00:35:04.000 Okay, Bill Clinton allegedly groped Kathleen Willey against her will.
00:35:10.000 Bill Clinton allegedly raped Juanita Broderick.
00:35:12.000 Bill Clinton allegedly groped Paula Jones against her will.
00:35:16.000 These are not women who had consensual sex with Bill Clinton.
00:35:19.000 This isn't Monica Lewinsky.
00:35:20.000 This isn't Jennifer Flowers.
00:35:21.000 Those weren't the people there.
00:35:23.000 Democrats say this about alleged sexual abuse victims, and nobody bats an eye.
00:35:27.000 Their hypocrisy is absolutely astounding.
00:35:29.000 I understand why people are so frustrated here, saying, why is it that Trump's kind of behavior, that's inexcusable from the media, but Bill and Hillary's behavior is excusable?
00:35:38.000 It's not.
00:35:38.000 None of it's excusable.
00:35:39.000 None of it's excusable.
00:35:41.000 But instead of making the case that none of it's excusable, Donald Trump is making the case against his own party, and members of the Republican Party are looking at the tea leaves and they're realizing that it doesn't matter.
00:35:52.000 The truth doesn't matter here.
00:35:53.000 It just doesn't matter.
00:35:55.000 Again, I mentioned this yesterday.
00:35:56.000 Todd Akin
00:35:58.000 We're good to go.
00:36:13.000 He was summarily dismissed from Congress, essentially, and Republicans lost 30 seats in the Congress.
00:36:17.000 That's the way this game works.
00:36:18.000 I'm sorry that the world isn't fair.
00:36:19.000 I'm sorry that the media are biased.
00:36:21.000 I'm sorry about all those things.
00:36:22.000 I think we ought to fight back against that media bias.
00:36:24.000 I think we ought to point out that Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are disgusting specimens of humanity.
00:36:30.000 But that doesn't change the basic math here.
00:36:32.000 And right now, I'm looking at a math problem beyond anything else.
00:36:35.000 That said, the hypocrisy of the left is overwhelming.
00:36:37.000 Samantha Bee is very upset at Republicans for condemning Donald Trump.
00:36:41.000 Now, what took them so long?
00:36:42.000 Meanwhile, a whole lot of Republicans were grappling with the discovery that their Muslim-banning, Mexican-insulting, race-baiting, disability-mocking, alt-right-channeling demagogue might not be such a good guy after all.
00:36:55.000 Mike Pence just issuing a statement saying, quote,
00:37:02.000 Mitch McConnell is the father of three daughters.
00:37:05.000 I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize.
00:37:09.000 I'm a father.
00:37:10.000 I'm a son of a very strong woman, a grandson of a strong woman, a husband of a strong woman, and I didn't like hearing that.
00:37:15.000 I'm a father of two girls, a brother of three sisters.
00:37:19.000 I'm the father of a 21-year-old daughter, and I have a wonderful wife and two, three wonderful sisters, and I'm like everybody else.
00:37:26.000 I'm appalled by the statements.
00:37:28.000 Oh, go f**k yourself.
00:37:29.000 Trump's comments are not wrong because you have female relatives.
00:37:34.000 Guess what?
00:37:35.000 A surprising number of Americans have at least one female relative.
00:37:40.000 Trump's comments were wrong because women are human.
00:37:45.000 And if you hadn't stood cravenly by while he insulted them for a year, you wouldn't be in the pile of elephant s**t you're in today.
00:37:51.000 Stop it here.
00:37:53.000 So here's the problem.
00:37:54.000 She doesn't get to say any of this crap because she's backing Hillary Clinton.
00:37:57.000 She doesn't get to say any of this crap because she worships at the altar of the Clintons.
00:38:00.000 Yes, the hypocrisy is astounding.
00:38:02.000 That doesn't mean that the argument is invalid, because the truth is that the argument is not actually invalid.
00:38:06.000 Some of what she's saying is true.
00:38:08.000 So that's what's so disturbing about all this.
00:38:10.000 Seth Meyers is doing the same routine.
00:38:11.000 He says that Trump and Ryan, you know, they both should be ashamed of themselves.
00:38:15.000 And again, Seth Meyers is a worshiper of the Clintons.
00:38:18.000 And by the way, let's not forget that Donald Trump isn't the only one being disgusting on this tape.
00:38:22.000 There's also Billy Bush, who somehow passed Jeb as worst-performing Bush in 2016.
00:38:29.000 Poor Jeb.
00:38:30.000 He must be somewhere thinking, I can't win anything.
00:38:34.000 And once they got off the bus, Billy Bush somehow managed to add a layer of nacho sleaze to the seven-layer sleaze dip.
00:38:41.000 Are you ready to be a soap star?
00:38:42.000 We're ready.
00:38:43.000 Let's go.
00:38:43.000 Make me a soap star.
00:38:44.000 How about a little hug for the Donald?
00:38:45.000 He just got off the bus.
00:38:46.000 Okay, absolutely.
00:38:48.000 Melania said this was okay.
00:38:51.000 There we go.
00:38:54.000 They're so entitled, they think they deserve hugs for getting off a bus.
00:38:59.000 And it wasn't easy.
00:39:00.000 You couldn't just knock on the glass.
00:39:01.000 Trust me.
00:39:03.000 I tried.
00:39:05.000 Now, it should be noted NBC suspended Billy Bush from the Today Show for his words on this tape, which means there is currently a higher standard for host of the third hour of the Today Show than there is for Republican nominee for president.
00:39:19.000 Can I point something out here?
00:39:21.000 Seth Meyers is on a network.
00:39:22.000 What's the name of that network, guys?
00:39:23.000 Oh yeah, that's right, it's called NBC.
00:39:25.000 Okay, NBC is also the place that hosted Donald Trump there for 11 years.
00:39:31.000 They knew he did all this stuff.
00:39:32.000 They made money off of him.
00:39:33.000 They promulgated him as the great god king of business for 11 years.
00:39:37.000 And now they're very upset that Donald Trump said all that.
00:39:39.000 They knew all this stuff from the beginning.
00:39:40.000 The hypocrisy here truly is astounding.
00:39:43.000 The shows are really bad and the hypocrisy here is really astounding.
00:39:47.000 But again, we've now been caught in this spiraling
00:39:50.000 Tornado of garbage and it's just it's going downhill ever faster and none of it changes the underlying math new NBC poll out just now after the debate Trump is down nine points nationally.
00:40:00.000 Okay, this is this is
00:40:02.000 End of world territory for Republicans.
00:40:04.000 Okay, all of this said, now it's time for some things I like and some things that I don't.
00:40:08.000 So, somebody sent me this earlier because I talked yesterday about the idea of Donald Trump kind of sitting around tweeting from a bunker somewhere.
00:40:17.000 And basically, he's got troubles, and so he's tweeting about all these people who have to stick with him and they must be loyal.
00:40:26.000 And somebody went ahead and made the inevitable Hitler video, right?
00:40:28.000 Somebody made the inevitable downfall video with Hitler.
00:40:31.000 And here's what it looked like.
00:40:34.000 This is what does Twitter have for me.
00:40:39.000 I love seeing the latest drudge poll numbers.
00:40:40.000 They're rising.
00:40:43.000 Mexicanos in the hood love me to do the max.
00:40:47.000 And their taco bowls.
00:40:48.000 Everybody looks around all weird.
00:40:52.000 House Speaker has strayed.
00:40:56.000 Tell the Twitter bots to tweet this tonight.
00:40:59.000 Hashtag grab Paul Ryan by the bleep.
00:41:01.000 My tweet will get like 80,000 Ks tonight.
00:41:04.000 Yeah.
00:41:14.000 Das ist das Schlimmste für mich!
00:41:17.000 I'll struggle to the Democrats tonight.
00:41:18.000 Okay, it continues along these lines.
00:41:21.000 But it's just it's just awful all the way around.
00:41:25.000 Okay, other things that I like, you know, I might as well say it now because now's a good time for it.
00:41:29.000 As I've said before, we've sort of reached the point in that campaign where Donald Trump, who's not Hitler, by the way, because only Hitler was Hitler.
00:41:35.000 Hey, Donald Trump is sitting around and he's saying and he's sitting around somewhere in the in the Trump and bunker.
00:41:40.000 And he's saying, every good German must stand with the Führer.
00:41:46.000 Everyone must die before surrendering Berlin to the Allies.
00:41:49.000 Sure, there's a cordon of Allies all around the city.
00:41:52.000 It doesn't matter.
00:41:53.000 We will all go down in flames in the Great Grotterdammerung.
00:41:58.000 That's where we are.
00:41:59.000 So, with that in mind, I thought that things I like today... The movie Downfall is actually a great movie, if you've never seen it.
00:42:04.000 It's about the final days of Hitler inside the Fuhrer bunker, and it is a very, very good movie.
00:42:10.000 The performance by Bruno Ganz as Hitler is excellent.
00:42:13.000 Here's the trailer.
00:42:19.000 It's his final days, hidden in an underground bunker.
00:42:27.000 The Fuhrer has lost all sense of reality.
00:42:29.000 He moves divisions that only exist on his map.
00:42:32.000 It's insane.
00:42:35.000 Twelve years of the Third Reich will end in chaos.
00:42:41.000 The enemy has broken through a long, wide front.
00:42:44.000 Our generals are just a bunch of contemptible, disloyal cowards.
00:42:50.000 In twelve days, Berlin will fall.
00:43:00.000 Okay, and the movie is actually a terrific film.
00:43:03.000 Okay, so you can go out and actually watch the movie.
00:43:05.000 Don't just watch all the parodies of the scene where Hitler breaks down.
00:43:08.000 There are a thousand of them online.
00:43:09.000 The movie itself is really good and says something about human nature.
00:43:13.000 Okay, other things that I like.
00:43:14.000 I just thought this was funny.
00:43:15.000 Donald Trump, for some reason, held up a baby dressed like Donald Trump at his rally last night.
00:43:21.000 And there's a picture of it.
00:43:22.000 It's him holding up this cute little kid.
00:43:24.000 Oh, it's a video?
00:43:24.000 Okay, let's do it.
00:43:35.000 That's so cute.
00:43:36.000 That kid's so cute.
00:43:37.000 I didn't realize Laura Ingraham was that small.
00:43:39.000 What's your name?
00:43:41.000 Name.
00:43:45.000 Now, he's supposed to look like Donald Trump, but he's actually much too good-looking.
00:43:50.000 You are really handsome.
00:43:53.000 Are you having a good time tonight?
00:43:55.000 Tonight.
00:43:58.000 Where's your daddy?
00:44:00.000 And your mommy, right?
00:44:01.000 Do you want to go back?
00:44:02.000 Do you want to go back to them?
00:44:04.000 He's picking his nose.
00:44:05.000 There we go.
00:44:07.000 Trump.
00:44:15.000 Okay.
00:44:18.000 It's cute.
00:44:19.000 And he just made the most compelling case for Trump I've ever heard.
00:44:22.000 That small child.
00:44:23.000 Okay.
00:44:26.000 Time for some things I hate other than the entire political situation and everything in life.
00:44:29.000 Okay, let's do it.
00:44:34.000 So actually, I should have put this thing in Things I Like, so this one's a screw-up, but I don't know if you've had a chance to see.
00:44:39.000 It's the only good thing that came out of that second debate, this video of Trump and Hillary singing to each other.
00:44:44.000 Very, very funny.
00:44:59.000 Now I've spent the time of my life.
00:45:06.000 No, I never felt like this before.
00:45:11.000 Yes, I swear it's the truth.
00:45:15.000 And I owe it all to you.
00:45:17.000 Close eyes.
00:45:32.000 Now we're passion in our eyes There's no way we could disguise
00:45:56.000 Whoever did this is a genius.
00:46:14.000 OK, so that was the only good thing to come out of the second debate, because this whole election cycle is... OK, back to things I hate.
00:46:19.000 So, Alex Jones is a human, which is saying a lot.
00:46:24.000 Alex Jones is a human over at InfoWars.
00:46:26.000 If you've never seen Alex Jones, I did an Alex Jones impersonation earlier, and you'll realize how good it was after you watch this video, in which Alex Jones absolutely loses his mind again.
00:46:35.000 He's an entertaining guy, I'll give him that.
00:46:37.000 He's a conspiracy theorist who believes a lot of nutty things.
00:46:39.000 And his site, InfoWars, has become kind of a go-to site for people who love Donald Trump and conspiracy theories.
00:46:46.000 So Donald Trump, I'm sure, visits it multiple times a day.
00:46:48.000 Alex Jones is the guy who heads it up.
00:46:51.000 And here is Alex Jones doing something.
00:46:54.000 I can't really explain what it is.
00:46:55.000 I'm feeling really powerful right now.
00:46:58.000 For sure, by the way.
00:46:58.000 All you're going to submit to us, our town of liberalism, is here.
00:47:01.000 You drink that fluoride.
00:47:02.000 You take those vaccines.
00:47:04.000 Donald Trump says vaccines might be dangerous because one of his kids got hurt.
00:47:08.000 Shut up!
00:47:10.000 You don't have free speech, you understand?
00:47:12.000 You listen to me!
00:47:13.000 I rule this country now!
00:47:14.000 I'm liberal!
00:47:16.000 Screw him!
00:47:17.000 Ban his free speech right now!
00:47:19.000 BAN IT!
00:47:19.000 Let me tell you what else you do.
00:47:22.000 You don't visit InfoWarsLife.com with the number one new vitamin.
00:47:26.000 I don't know why!
00:47:27.000 I can't understand it!
00:47:28.000 Look at this!
00:47:29.000 Look what's underneath here!
00:47:29.000 It's another shirt!
00:47:44.000 Why?
00:47:45.000 Why?
00:47:45.000 Because I don't want to go to the cleaners that often.
00:47:49.000 That's why.
00:47:50.000 Come on.
00:47:50.000 OK.
00:47:53.000 I think it says something about our country when that guy is a leading advocate for one of the presidential candidates.
00:48:00.000 By the way, it exists on the other side, too.
00:48:01.000 You've got a lot of crazies on the other side, but they're all in Hollywood.
00:48:04.000 One of those crazies is Robert De Niro.
00:48:07.000 So Robert De Niro, fresh off his performance in I've Been Dead for 20 Years, is a
00:48:13.000 They cut a video about how angry he is with Donald Trump mistreating women.
00:48:17.000 He's a punk.
00:48:18.000 He's a dog.
00:48:20.000 He's a pig, he's a con, a bullshit artist, a mutt who doesn't know what he's talking about, doesn't do his homework, doesn't care, thinks he's gaming society, doesn't pay his taxes, he's an idiot, Colin Powell said it best, he's a national disaster, he's an embarrassment to this country.
00:48:36.000 It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point, that this fool, this bozo, has wound up where he has.
00:48:44.000 He talks how he wants to punch people in the face, well,
00:48:48.000 I'd like to punch him in the face.
00:48:51.000 This is somebody that we want for president?
00:48:53.000 I don't think so.
00:49:12.000 Well, here's the problem with the Hollywood critique of Donald Trump.
00:49:27.000 A lot of people in Hollywood act just like Donald Trump.
00:49:29.000 A lot of them mistreat women.
00:49:30.000 The casting couch is still alive and well.
00:49:32.000 Hollywood is replete with people who have been brutal to women, who have acted badly, who talk exactly like Donald Trump talks in that tape.
00:49:41.000 People talk about locker rooms.
00:49:42.000 What Trump should have said is, no, that's how we talk in Hollywood, dressing rooms.
00:49:45.000 Because that's actually true.
00:49:47.000 There are a lot of people in Hollywood who do talk like that, and who do act like that, and who do believe that celebrity is the catch-all, the cure-all for all available sins.
00:49:56.000 One of the hard parts about watching this election cycle is that all the critiques of Donald Trump are true, and all the critiques of Hillary Clinton are true, and most of the critiques are coming from people who shouldn't be making the critiques at all on grounds of hypocrisy.
00:50:06.000 That's one of the hardest things about this election.
00:50:08.000 So you should be able to separate those two things.
00:50:10.000 The critiques of Trump can be true.
00:50:11.000 The critiques of Clinton can be true.
00:50:14.000 The sources of those critiques can also be awful, awful human beings.
00:50:18.000 And that's what we've come down to.
00:50:19.000 So, it's, you know, this is a real moment for the Republican Party that we're watching right now.
00:50:24.000 We're watching a real moment for the Republican Party.
00:50:26.000 Can they hold this ship together long enough to just get it across the finish line in this schooner race on November 8th?
00:50:35.000 All they have to do is hold the House, hold the Senate.
00:50:37.000 My guess right now is they hold the House and they don't hold the Senate.
00:50:40.000 But if they hold neither, then there is going to be such hell to pay after this election.
00:50:43.000 And it's going to be on one man.
00:50:44.000 It's going to be on Donald Trump.
00:50:45.000 It's not on his supporters.
00:50:46.000 I understand the justification for voting for him in the primaries.
00:50:49.000 I understand why you're voting for him now.
00:50:50.000 It's not about you.
00:50:51.000 It's about Donald Trump.
00:50:52.000 And it's about the manipulative game that Donald Trump is now playing in order to preserve his own business after this thing is over, in order to preserve the myth that he is still some great sort of winner, even after he gets shellacked based on his own incompetence.
00:51:04.000 So, tomorrow is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, so I will pray very hard for the country, and as we all should, regardless of whether you're Jewish or not.
00:51:12.000 I'll be fasting for 25 hours, not eating or drinking, which makes me miserable, but that'll be a significant upgrade from where I am today over the state of this race.
00:51:20.000 So, I will be back on Thursday, and we will have some mailbag for you then.
