The Ben Shapiro Show - Ep. 199 - Hillary's Birthday Present: More Corruption!

00:00:00.000 So, we now know that the Clinton campaign understood in real time that Hillary Clinton was lying about her private email server.

00:00:05.000 According to campaign chairman John Podesta, Hillary lawyer David Kendall, former State Department Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and former senior advisor Philippe Raines, sure weren't forthcoming on the facts here.

00:00:15.000 It's a direct quote.

00:00:16.000 One of Hillary's friends, activist Neera Tanden, replied, quote, this is a Cheryl's special, like Cheryl Mills.

00:00:21.000 No, you love her, but this stuff is like her Achilles heel, or kryptonite. 0.98

00:00:24.000 She can't say no to this bleep. 1.00

00:00:26.000 Why didn't they get this stuff out like 18 months ago?

00:00:28.000 So crazy.

00:00:28.000 I guess I know the answer.

00:00:29.000 They wanted to get away with it." 0.57

00:00:32.000 These are Hillary's allies. 0.92

00:00:33.000 Tandon rightly pointed out, the Clinton campaign should have released all the emails immediately if they wanted to avoid scrutiny. 0.99

00:00:38.000 But, as always, they hid the truth because they are pathological, paranoid liars. 0.97

00:00:42.000 And the lies extend all the way up the chain. 0.87

00:00:44.000 According to an email from Cheryl Mills, President Obama was lying when he said in 2015 that he learned about Hillary's private emails, quote, the same time everybody else learned it, through news reports.

00:00:54.000 Mills wrote, quote, we need to clean this up.

00:00:56.000 He has emails from her.

00:00:57.000 They do not say state.gov.

00:00:59.000 Obama's press secretary, Josh Earnest, came out days after Obama's lies, fibbing again, quote, the point the president was making is not he didn't know Secretary Clinton's email address.

00:01:07.000 He did.

00:01:08.000 But he wasn't aware of the details of how that email address and that server had been set up or how Secretary Clinton and her team were planning to comply with the Federal Records Act.

00:01:17.000 Meanwhile, ABC News reports the State Department still hasn't gotten back to the National Archives and Records Administration, called NARA, on their request for records from months ago for emails concerning Hillary Tech aide Brian Pagliano.

00:01:29.000 NARA informed the State Department on July 18th to explain why there were no Pagliano emails.

00:01:35.000 He was obligated by law to turn over those emails.

00:01:36.000 Three months later, nothing.

00:01:38.000 Zip.

00:01:38.000 Nada.

00:01:39.000 They've turned over nothing.

00:01:39.000 Hillary Clinton.

00:01:41.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:01:41.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:02:00.000 All righty, so we are back from the last of the Jewish holidays, so we should not have any breaks now between now and the election, which is 13 long, endless days away.

00:02:09.000 Time is now moving backwards as we approach the election, because that's what happens in horror movies.

00:02:14.000 You just feel that horrible feeling creep up your neck, and the movie seems to last twice as long as you thought it would because it's so frightening.

00:02:21.000 Yes, that is where we now are in this election cycle, 13 days until Armageddon.

00:02:26.000 But before we get to that,

00:02:28.000 A positive note from Birch Gold, our friends over at Birch Gold, if you are afraid of the apocalypse, nor just afraid that the economy is overblown, that we're due for another recession, that the stock market and real estate market are overvalued, because they are, you might want to give my friends over at Birch Gold Group a call.

00:02:42.000 You go to birchgold.com and they will inform you how you can shift your IRA into precious metals, if that's something you're interested in doing.

00:02:49.000 They have an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau.

00:02:51.000 And they give a 16-page comprehensive kit on how gold and silver can protect your assets.

00:02:56.000 So get in touch with them at birchgold.com.

00:02:59.000 Get that no-cost, no-obligation kit and ask all of your questions before you invest.

00:03:02.000 I always encourage everybody to do full research before you invest in anything.

00:03:06.000 But part of your portfolio should be in precious metals as a hedge.

00:03:12.000 Okay, so lots to get to.

00:03:19.000 We will, of course, get to Newt Gingrich vs. Megyn Kelly, the only thing anyone wants to talk about today.

00:03:24.000 We'll get to that in just a second.

00:03:25.000 But first, some stories that the mainstream media obviously don't want to talk about.

00:03:29.000 The first of this,

00:03:31.000 Is that Obamacare is absolutely collapsing.

00:03:33.000 So, in 38 states across the country, the premiums have risen by a significant amount, according to the Associated Press, as much as 25% in some states.

00:03:41.000 It was built to be this way.

00:03:43.000 We all know that it was going to be this way.

00:03:45.000 As I mentioned last week when we talked about Obamacare's rising premiums, Obamacare was built on the great lie that young people were going to pay for insurance they don't need

00:03:53.000 And that was going to be used to redistribute the insurance coverage to older people and to people who couldn't afford it.

00:03:59.000 That was the idea.

00:04:00.000 Turns out young people just said, screw it, I'll pay the fine.

00:04:02.000 And so that's what they've been doing.

00:04:04.000 And it also turns out that the other part of Obamacare was that Medicaid would be expanded in the states.

00:04:10.000 Sponsored by the federal government.

00:04:12.000 A lot of conservative states said, we're not going to expand Medicaid, because the federal government is promising to pay it right now, but they won't be paying it in five years, and then we'll end up picking up the tab for this expanded Medicaid, and so a lot of people are not on insurance, and that means that the insurance companies have been sort of forced to cover a lot of people who are in poor health, and the insurance premiums are skyrocketing.

00:04:31.000 So, people are not being covered in a lot of these states, plus the insurance premiums are up, so it's the worst of all possible worlds.

00:04:37.000 And this is how it was built to be.

00:04:38.000 Obamacare's architect

00:04:40.000 Jake, totally agree with you.

00:04:41.000 There's a million people for whom this is going to be severe or uncomfortable.

00:04:44.000 And I, you know, for a million people we need to find other solutions.

00:05:01.000 Zeke, you just cherry-picked some states.

00:05:02.000 Let me cherry-pick one of my own.

00:05:04.000 Arizona.

00:05:04.000 Premiums are going to jump 116%.

00:05:06.000 They're going to jump 116%.

00:05:11.000 Yes.

00:05:12.000 And the question is, what were they before and what are they after?

00:05:16.000 And look, I think it's a real problem there.

00:05:18.000 We need to get more people in at 116% increase.

00:05:23.000 We need to get more people in.

00:05:24.000 So how are we going to do that?

00:05:24.000 We're going to force people to buy insurance.

00:05:26.000 I love it when Obamacare advocates say, we have all these new people who are buying insurance.

00:05:30.000 Right, because you're putting the government gun to their head and demanding they buy insurance.

00:05:33.000 If I pass a law saying everybody has to buy a car, car sales will go up, even if it's a crappy car.

00:05:38.000 The premiums are going up dramatically because part of this, and Republicans do this routine too, when they say that we need insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, that's not insurance coverage.

00:05:47.000 That's healthcare.

00:05:49.000 Okay, I don't buy fire insurance after my house burns down, because no fire insurance company would sell me an insurance policy.

00:05:54.000 An insurance policy is just a bet.

00:05:56.000 You're betting that your house won't burn down, or you're betting that your house will burn down, and they're betting your house won't burn down.

00:06:02.000 Once you already have cancer, you're not betting anymore that you won't get cancer.

00:06:07.000 You know, they're paying you.

00:06:09.000 If you can't pay in $7.50 a month or $1,000 or $1,500 a month and take out $10,000 a month, that's not insurance coverage.

00:06:15.000 That's a subsidy.

00:06:16.000 In any case, Obamacare is collapsing.

00:06:18.000 It was designed to collapse.

00:06:19.000 So naturally, Democrats are trying to blame Republicans over all of this.

00:06:22.000 Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the former DNC chair, who's now been replaced with the exorable Donna Brazile, she says that it's time to sit with Republicans, Jar Jar Binks of the Democratic Party. 0.63

00:06:33.000 We need to sit down together like Hillary Clinton has said over and over with Republicans across the table and iron out those kinks and that's what we're committed to do so we can make sure that we can continue to improve upon a plan that has given 20 million people health insurance and given people like me as a breast cancer survivor who lives with a pre-existing condition the chance 0.97

00:06:52.000 Okay, first of all, again, if you had a pre-existing condition, that's awful, but there's a reason you're paying a higher premium because your risks are higher, just like any other insurance scheme, okay?

00:07:04.000 That's just the way insurance works.

00:07:06.000 The idea that they're gonna put it on Republicans now, we need to work together to correct the system?

00:07:10.000 You take your system and you shove it. 0.98

00:07:11.000 I mean, we're not interested in correcting your crappy system. 0.55

00:07:14.000 Your system should implode, and we should get rid of your system, and we should replace it with something better, obviously. 0.74

00:07:19.000 Now, Donald Trump is campaigning on this.

00:07:22.000 He's now decided that he's going to kind of split his time between not campaigning and campaigning.

00:07:27.000 Today, he's over in Washington, D.C., pushing his Trump Hotel at a ribbon-cutting, which is what normal presidential candidates do, I'm informed.

00:07:35.000 But he's also tweeting—he has, to his credit, he has tweeted in all capital letters, Repeal and Replace Obamacare.

00:07:40.000 So, I guess that's sufficient for that sort of coverage.

00:07:43.000 But Trump is splitting his time in this campaign.

00:07:46.000 So, he is spending some time hitting Hillary Clinton.

00:07:49.000 He's hitting her about her email server, as well.

00:07:51.000 Here's Donald Trump hitting Hillary about the new revelations about her email server.

00:07:55.000 He found out Hillary Clinton was using a personal email when he saw it on the news.

00:08:00.000 Oh, that's nice.

00:08:02.000 But Cheryl Mills, Clinton's chief of staff at the State Department, replied, quote, listen to this,

00:08:09.000 We need to clean this up.

00:08:12.000 He has the emails from her.

00:08:14.000 They do not say state.gov.

00:08:18.000 They don't say it.

00:08:20.000 In other words, Mills was saying Obama.

00:08:24.000 He had to know that Hillary was using an illegal server. 1.00

00:08:28.000 But he claimed otherwise.

00:08:30.000 So that means Obama is now into the act.

00:08:34.000 And now I understand that despite his hatred of the Clintons, because I know one thing, Bill hates him.

00:08:41.000 But despite his hatred, now I understand why he pushed her.

00:08:46.000 And that's good, Trump, and this is exactly right.

00:08:48.000 Okay, the fact is that Obama was complicit in the private email cover-up.

00:08:52.000 There's a report today that the DOJ, the Department of Justice, they charted the political donations of the DOJ, and it turned out that 97% of all political donations in this cycle from employees of the DOJ went to Hillary Clinton, you guessed it, of course.

00:09:04.000 Because that's the way this entire routine works.

00:09:07.000 I mean, these corrupt

00:09:09.000 We're good.

00:09:25.000 The media would prefer to cover Donald Trump's scandals than Hillary's scandals. 0.95

00:09:28.000 Part of it is that it's much easier to wrap your mind around Donald Trump grabs women by the bleep than it is to talk about Cheryl Mills and Philip Raines and try to explain who all these people are and how they're all connected.

00:09:40.000 You have to connect all the dots, and that's a little bit more complicated.

00:09:43.000 The media doesn't want to do that work.

00:09:44.000 To their credit, the media is covering today these new revelations about Hillary's email server and Cheryl Mills and John Podesta.

00:09:50.000 They are.

00:09:50.000 It was on the front page of the Washington Post.

00:09:52.000 I'll take that for what it's worth, but we can be frustrated with the level of media coverage.

00:09:59.000 That doesn't mean that the Trump campaign is doing a good job with this.

00:10:01.000 So if Trump were on the stump all the time, and all he was talking about was what we just saw, we'd be looking at a much better Trump, a much more solid Trump, a Trump who is looking to win.

00:10:11.000 But the reality of the situation now, and this is where we get into telling uncomfortable truths, because that's what we do on the program, and I'll talk about why it's uncomfortable for so many people in a minute.

00:10:22.000 The uncomfortable truth is that Donald Trump is not running for president anymore.

00:10:25.000 He's running for the post-presidency civil war so that he can start his Trump TV routine.

00:10:29.000 He is.

00:10:30.000 I said this back in August, that this was his plan, that his plan B was that, if he started to lose.

00:10:34.000 He knows that's the case now, so he's just throwing red meat to his base, and he's throwing his surrogates out there to throw red meat to his base. 0.53

00:10:40.000 Because the stuff that he's doing now is not conducive to him winning an election.

00:10:44.000 Trump plan A was win the election.

00:10:46.000 Trump plan B was, if you can't win the election, then start stumping for the base.

00:10:50.000 Throw red meat to the base. 1.00

00:10:51.000 Even if it means I do worse in the election, but I lock up my base to pay me 10 bucks a month at Trump TV, then that's what I'll do.

00:10:57.000 And that's the direction that Trump has been moving over the past several weeks, and that's certainly been true in the last 24 hours as well.

00:11:05.000 Now, a lot of people don't want to hear that.

00:11:06.000 A lot of people, when I say that sort of thing, they say, well, don't you understand how bad Hillary is? 0.98

00:11:10.000 That's a non sequitur.

00:11:11.000 As you know, I just spent 15 minutes ripping into Hillary. 1.00

00:11:13.000 She's the most corrupt person to run for high office in my lifetime. 1.00

00:11:17.000 Hillary Clinton is an abomination. 1.00

00:11:18.000 She's going to be a terrible president. 1.00

00:11:19.000 She's going to corrupt the executive branch. 1.00

00:11:21.000 Okay, but that's a non sequitur.

00:11:22.000 Donald Trump doesn't want to win.

00:11:24.000 The comeback is not Hillary's awful.

00:11:26.000 I know Hillary's awful. 1.00

00:11:27.000 I'm not even making the case right now you shouldn't vote for Trump.

00:11:30.000 I'm just pointing out to you so you don't get suckered that if Donald Trump loses, Donald Trump loses because of Donald Trump.

00:11:36.000 Donald Trump loses because he doesn't, he's not interested in winning anymore.

00:11:39.000 He cares less about winning than you do.

00:11:41.000 He cares less about stopping Hillary Clinton than you do.

00:11:43.000 He is only interested in one thing right now and that is fighting with his own party and fighting with the media so that he can get people to buy into his brand after he loses badly.

00:11:52.000 If he didn't care about those things, if he really wanted to win, he'd be focusing on his ground game.

00:11:57.000 He wouldn't have shut down his major fundraisers with the RNC, which is what he's done.

00:12:00.000 He has no ground game in any of the major states.

00:12:03.000 All that is an indicator that the Trump campaign is not interested in winning, the Trump campaign is interested in the civil war that comes after, that begins November 9th.

00:12:11.000 And the reason I'm talking about that right now, the reason it's important to talk about that right now, before the election, is because otherwise what's going to happen is Trump is going to lie all the way up to the election that this is close, his people are going to go out there and tell you that it's really, really close, if only Trump hadn't been stabbed in the back, and people are going to be shocked, they're going to be in despair November 9th,

00:12:29.000 And I think two things.

00:12:30.000 One, you shouldn't be in despair November 9th.

00:12:32.000 The battle isn't over.

00:12:33.000 You can lose the battle and still win the war.

00:12:36.000 And I'll explain what I mean by that in a second.

00:12:38.000 And point number two, if you're so shocked that Trump lost, you're more likely to fall into his next con, which is, I lost because I was backstabbed.

00:12:47.000 You shouldn't be.

00:12:48.000 You shouldn't be.

00:12:48.000 He was a bad candidate.

00:12:49.000 He's run a bad campaign.

00:12:50.000 He's continuing to run a bad campaign right now.

00:12:53.000 Now, the reason, by the way, I say that the battle could be lost, but the war isn't, is Hillary Clinton will be a deeply unpopular president. 1.00

00:12:59.000 There's likely to be a recession on her watch.

00:13:00.000 There's a recession in this country every eight to ten years.

00:13:03.000 That means the last one was in 2007-2008.

00:13:05.000 It is now 2016.

00:13:07.000 Good shot that the economy, which is inflated by the Fed tanks under Hillary Clinton's watch, in off-year elections, the incumbent party does very poorly.

00:13:15.000 So there's a good shot that in four years, Republicans come back.

00:13:17.000 It's a bad four years, but Republicans come back and do something decent in four years if they don't go to war.

00:13:23.000 The danger here is that Trump sends them to war.

00:13:25.000 Okay, all of that is lead up to this clip of Newt Gingrich with Megyn Kelly last night.

00:13:30.000 Because when it comes to Newt Gingrich versus Megyn Kelly, you have to understand something.

00:13:35.000 You can agree with Newt Gingrich, but this exchange wins Newt Gingrich zero points with the voters who matter.

00:13:41.000 Okay, it wins him subscribers to new Trump TV, but it doesn't do anything for the actual election.

00:13:47.000 Nobody watches this exchange, and then they say, you know what, now I'm voting Trump.

00:13:50.000 So here's the exchange between Gingrich and Kelly that made all sorts of headlines last night.

00:14:02.000 Using language that's inflammatory, that's not true.

00:14:05.000 Excuse me, Mr. Speaker.

00:14:07.000 Donald Trump is not... You have no idea whether it's true or not.

00:14:10.000 What we know is that there are at least... Neither do you.

00:14:11.000 That's right, and I'm not taking a position on it, unlike you.

00:14:14.000 I guess you are.

00:14:14.000 When you use the words, you took a position.

00:14:16.000 So what I say is... And I think it's very unfair of you to do that, Megan.

00:14:19.000 Incorrect.

00:14:19.000 I think that is exactly the bias people are upset by.

00:14:21.000 And you want to go back to the tapes of your show recently?

00:14:24.000 You are fascinated with sex, and you don't care about public policy.

00:14:28.000 Oh, that's what I get out of watching you tonight.

00:14:30.000 I want to hear your words. 1.00

00:14:32.000 Bill Clinton, sexual predator. 1.00

00:14:33.000 I dare you. 1.00

00:14:34.000 Say Bill Clinton, sexual predator. 1.00

00:14:36.000 Mr. Speaker, we've covered- Disbarred by the Arkansas Bar. 0.99

00:14:38.000 Excuse me, sir.

00:14:40.000 Disbarred by the Arkansas Bar.

00:14:41.000 $850,000 penalty.

00:14:41.000 Excuse me, sir.

00:14:45.000 Okay, so...

00:15:00.000 I'll give you the full analysis of this in just a second.

00:15:02.000 First, we have to say hello to our friends over at Ring.com.

00:15:07.000 If you're somebody who's afraid of home burglary, I tend to be kind of paranoid about this because I have a lot of hate mail, but if you're somebody who's worried about home burglary or somebody coming to your house who ought not be there, Ring.com is for you.

00:15:17.000 Very often what happens is people ring the doorbell to see if you're home and then they burglarize the place.

00:15:22.000 What Ring.com does is, you can see it has the camera up top.

00:15:25.000 Somebody rings the doorbell.

00:15:26.000 It rings through to your phone.

00:15:27.000 You can reply to them directly, and that means whether you're home or not home, you can give the impression that you're home.

00:15:32.000 You can also see who's at your door.

00:15:34.000 Right now, they have an advanced motion detection technology to protect the property called the Ring of Security Kit, which means the Ring video doorbell for the front door.

00:15:41.000 And a Ring Stick Up Cam, which is a wireless weatherproof HD camera.

00:15:44.000 Again, we have a lot of great advertisers.

00:15:46.000 This is one of the ones where I actually spent my own money to go out and get extra Ring products, because I believe in the product so much.

00:15:51.000 Ring.com is a way that you can keep your home safe.

00:15:54.000 My wife is paranoid about this kind of stuff, and so am I. And so, we've bought a bunch of their products.

00:15:58.000 It's a great product, and I highly recommend it.

00:16:00.000 Right now, if you go to ring.com slash Ben, you get $150 off of the Ring of Security Kit, which is a pretty hefty discount.

00:16:07.000 Okay, so, when it comes to this clip, Gingrich and Kelly, I'm just going to point out, before I say what this clip means, if you're a Trump supporter, you think that Gingrich did great. 0.71

00:16:24.000 If you're not a Trump supporter, you think Gingrich made an ass of himself here.

00:16:27.000 That really is what it comes down to here. 0.70

00:16:30.000 No minds were changed.

00:16:31.000 No minds were changed.

00:16:33.000 Except the minds of women who may watch this and say, really?

00:16:37.000 Newt Gingrich?

00:16:38.000 Thrice-married Newt Gingrich?

00:16:39.000 The guy who cheated on his second wife with his third wife? 0.85

00:16:42.000 That guy is saying to Megyn Kelly, a woman, that she's obsessed with sex because she is covering sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump?

00:16:50.000 Now, you may think that that's awful that people think that way.

00:16:53.000 Maybe it is.

00:16:53.000 That's also reality.

00:16:55.000 The reality of the situation is that right now Donald Trump, according to ABC News, Washington Post polls, is losing women by a margin of 55 to 35.

00:17:03.000 By contrast, Mitt Romney lost women by 12. 0.98

00:17:05.000 Donald Trump is losing women by 20.

00:17:08.000 Among white women, Donald Trump is losing 62 to 30. 0.96

00:17:11.000 Mitt Romney won white women, white college-educated women. 0.96

00:17:14.000 Trump is losing them.

00:17:16.000 He's destroying an entire generation of female voters for the Republican Party because of stuff like this.

00:17:21.000 Whether you think Gingrich is right, and I think he's partially right, and I think he's partially wrong, you have to acknowledge that there are costs to this kind of stuff politically.

00:17:29.000 I'm not talking about how it should be.

00:17:31.000 I'm not talking about what's true or not.

00:17:32.000 I'm talking about the reality of politics on the ground.

00:17:35.000 This sort of stuff does not help Donald Trump, and Gingrich knows that, and Trump knows that, and they all know this, but they're still pushing this kind of stuff, which means there's another agenda here.

00:17:44.000 There's another agenda here, okay?

00:17:45.000 This has nothing to do with Gingrich being right or Gingrich being wrong.

00:17:49.000 But here's the thing.

00:17:50.000 When I speak the language of reality, again, that sort of iron curtain goes down and people don't want to hear it because it's not November 9th yet, so we can't operate in the realm of reality.

00:17:58.000 We have to have hope that Trump is going to win.

00:17:59.000 We have to assume that Trump is on the verge of winning.

00:18:02.000 We have to say that Hillary's really bad. 1.00

00:18:03.000 She is. 1.00

00:18:04.000 She's awful. 0.98

00:18:04.000 That has nothing to do with the point that I'm making. 0.98

00:18:07.000 That has nothing to do with the point that I'm making.

00:18:08.000 The point that I'm making is, if you want to run an effective campaign that doesn't damage conservatism and the Republican brand in the future, this is not how it's done.

00:18:16.000 I'll explain more about that in just a second over at dailywire.com.

00:18:19.000 This is why you should subscribe so you can watch live at dailywire.com.

00:18:39.000 It's getting good reviews.

00:18:41.000 Conservative Review just did a really nice review of it.

00:18:42.000 Town Hall did a great review of it.

00:18:44.000 Alan West and Ann Coulter, both of whom support Trump, really liked the book, thought it was a great book.

00:19:06.000 Okay, so, back to the Gingrich clip.

00:19:09.000 So, there are a few things to say about this.

00:19:10.000 First, Gingrich is totally right.

00:19:11.000 The media have covered, obviously, all of the stuff about Trump's sex assault allegations way more than Hillary's scandals.

00:19:17.000 Some of that's legit, some of it isn't.

00:19:19.000 It's legit to cover sex scandals more.

00:19:21.000 People are more interested in sex scandals.

00:19:22.000 That's just human nature.

00:19:24.000 It's been true since biblical times. 0.88

00:19:25.000 When you talk about David's great sins, the first one that comes to mind is the sex scandal with Batsheba, with Bathsheba. 0.62

00:19:32.000 This has been true forever and ever and ever.

00:19:34.000 Sex scandals have been true throughout human history.

00:19:37.000 Those are the ones that people are interested in.

00:19:38.000 I mean, there have been wars fought over a sex scandal.

00:19:41.000 The Trojan War was fought over a sex scandal.

00:19:43.000 So this idea that we're going to cover Hillary's emails the same way we cover a sex scandal, it's not true to human nature.

00:19:50.000 Gingrich is right.

00:19:51.000 The media have been heavily focusing on that, and they don't focus as much on Bill Clinton.

00:19:55.000 Kelly is right that people don't care as much about Bill Clinton because Bill isn't running Hillary as.

00:19:59.000 That's true.

00:20:00.000 That's true.

00:20:00.000 So they're both sort of half right.

00:20:02.000 They're both sort of half right. 0.98

00:20:03.000 The part where Gingrich is wrong and stupid is when he assumes, number one, that Kelly is part of the quote-unquote mainstream media infrastructure. 1.00

00:20:10.000 Treating Megyn Kelly like she's Andrea Mitchell or Martha Raddatz is idiotic. 1.00

00:20:14.000 Plus, she's on Fox News. 0.99

00:20:15.000 If you want the Trump side of the story, the next hour is Sean Hannity's Trump Informational Hour, sponsored by Donald Trump Brand Hotels and Trump Vodka.

00:20:23.000 If you want Donald Trump's perspective on anything, just wait 20 minutes, right? 0.96

00:20:27.000 The idea that Megyn Kelly is indicative of Fox News' bias against Trump, or she's part of the big problem here, is really stupid, especially when the truth is that the Trump team has been going after Kelly since the beginning. 0.96

00:20:38.000 I mean, when she asked a question about Trump's treatment of women in the first debate, the immediate response by Trump was to say she was on her period. 0.97

00:20:44.000 So there's nothing new under the sun here.

00:20:47.000 But again, when he says things like, you're obsessed with sex to Megyn Kelly,

00:20:53.000 That's just, I'm sorry, that doesn't wash in any world.

00:20:56.000 It doesn't.

00:20:57.000 It doesn't wash in any world.

00:20:57.000 First of all, there has never been a woman, or there are very few women, let me put it this way, there are very few women who are as obsessed with sex as the average man.

00:21:05.000 Truly speaking, according to science, I like science, they've done social science studies, they did a study where they went to a bar, and they put a beautiful woman in a bar, and she propositioned a bunch of guys,

00:21:15.000 And almost 100% of the men were willing to immediately go to her place and have sex with her.

00:21:19.000 They did the same thing with a good-looking guy. 0.63

00:21:21.000 Put him in a bar, had him proposition a bunch of women. 0.58

00:21:24.000 How many women went with him? 0.99

00:21:25.000 The answer was zero.

00:21:26.000 Men and women don't treat sex the same. 0.99

00:21:28.000 So the idea that Kelly is particularly sex-obsessed, but thrice-married Newt Gingrich is not, is just ridiculous. 0.98

00:21:34.000 Second of all, the outrage that you're seeing from Gingrich about the language of sexual predator there, where she says, if he's a sexual predator, it's a story, 0.99

00:21:43.000 If he's a sexual predator, it is a story. 1.00

00:21:45.000 It's a story because Bill Clinton is a sexual predator. 1.00

00:21:48.000 What Kelly should have said there is, you're right. 1.00

00:21:49.000 If Bill Clinton is a sexual predator, that is a story.

00:21:53.000 It's not the same story because Clinton isn't running for president and Donald Trump is, but it's a story, sure. 0.74

00:21:57.000 Okay, so all that's true, all that's accurate, but you have to question the motivation of the Trump campaign for making this an issue, and now they're making this a continuous issue.

00:22:07.000 Now they're making this a continuous issue.

00:22:09.000 Forget whether you like Kelly or not.

00:22:10.000 You can hate Kelly, but they're making this a continuous issue.

00:22:12.000 Here's Donald Trump.

00:22:14.000 She wants to withdraw that statement so badly, Newt.

00:22:17.000 By the way, congratulations, Newt, on last night.

00:22:19.000 That was an amazing interview.

00:22:43.000 That was an amazing... We don't play games, Newt, right?

00:22:50.000 We don't play games.

00:22:52.000 We don't play games, do we?

00:22:53.000 Okay, this whole thing is a game.

00:22:55.000 You're standing literally in front of a sign that says Trump International Hotels in the middle of a presidential campaign.

00:23:00.000 The whole thing's a game.

00:23:00.000 So what is the real game here?

00:23:02.000 The real game here is to get people like me, like you, conservatives, very, very, very upset at the media, the rigged media.

00:23:10.000 And listen, I'm upset at the media.

00:23:11.000 I've written full books on the media.

00:23:13.000 The media are corrupt. 0.98

00:23:14.000 They're awful. 1.00

00:23:15.000 They're awful. 0.98

00:23:16.000 But the game here now is no longer to win because he's undermining himself with women.

00:23:20.000 Remember, he had two goals.

00:23:21.000 One was to win.

00:23:22.000 The second was, if he couldn't win, to run for CEO of Trump TV.

00:23:26.000 And if B comes into conflict with A, he goes with B. And that's what's happening right now.

00:23:31.000 Right now, his electoral strategy is diametrically opposed to his strategy for boosting his brand after the election.

00:23:37.000 The electoral strategy would be to reach out to women. 1.00

00:23:39.000 His strategy is to rip down people like Megyn Kelly, whether you like it or not, that's his strategy, so that he can get people all up in arms about the unfair media so he can sell them subscriptions at $12 a month. 0.70

00:23:49.000 That's the goal here.

00:23:51.000 And you can see it right there. 1.00

00:23:52.000 And now, I mean, this is just so stupid. 0.99

00:23:55.000 Now that Breitbart is trotting out Paula Jones to talk about Megyn Kelly, right? 0.99

00:23:59.000 Why need a Broderick to talk about Megyn Kelly?

00:24:01.000 Here's Paula Jones, the victim of sexual harassment by the President of the United States. 1.00

00:24:07.000 She's the one who received the $850,000 settlement.

00:24:11.000 Paula Jones tweets, woohoo, he slammed this nasty heifer. 1.00

00:24:16.000 I didn't realize that that's the way that you treat someone who's talking about the evils of sexual assault by anyone.

00:24:23.000 I mean, that sort of undermines your general claim that you care about sexual assault when somebody goes after your candidate for sexual assault.

00:24:29.000 Again, imagine that the scenarios were reversed.

00:24:31.000 Imagine that all the women accusing Trump were coming out in defense of Bill Clinton. 1.00

00:24:34.000 Wouldn't you be a little ticked?

00:24:36.000 Yes, you would.

00:24:36.000 Okay, Juanita Broderick did the same thing.

00:24:38.000 She says, Megyn Kelly is hell on the inside. 1.00

00:24:40.000 Well, beauty is only skin deep. 1.00

00:24:41.000 Megyn Kelly is ugly as hell on the inside. 1.00

00:24:44.000 Really? 0.99

00:24:44.000 What did she do to you, Juanita Broderick? 0.99

00:24:46.000 Last I checked, she asked Democrats about Juanita Broderick. 0.98

00:24:49.000 And she had Kathleen Willey on her program.

00:24:52.000 But again, this is now about rooting for Trump.

00:24:54.000 It's no longer about winning the election.

00:24:55.000 It's no longer about winning the election.

00:24:57.000 And so, this is the damage that's being done by Trump in the future.

00:25:00.000 And I'm already talking November 9th, and I know people don't want to talk November 9th.

00:25:03.000 We all want to pretend along, and this is the place that you come for truth, not for nostrums.

00:25:07.000 If you want people lying to you about how this is going to be close, if you want people lying to you about how Trump is running a brilliant campaign, if you want people to lie to you about how it's going to be a blowout for Trump, if it weren't for the media and for the never-Trumpers, there are plenty of shows for you to get it.

00:25:18.000 You're not going to get that here.

00:25:19.000 I'm going to tell you the truth.

00:25:20.000 When I think Trump is right, I think he's right.

00:25:22.000 I said that at the beginning of the show about the private server.

00:25:24.000 If I think Trump is running a bad campaign, it's because he's running a bad campaign.

00:25:29.000 Rudy Giuliani doing the same thing.

00:25:30.000 He's on TV and he's talking about racism, and here's Rudy Giuliani talking about racism.

00:25:35.000 Racist? 0.93

00:25:35.000 The last thing in the world Donald Trump is is a racist. 0.93

00:25:37.000 I've known him for 28 years. 0.56

00:25:39.000 The man likes white people, he likes black people, he likes Hispanic people, he plays golf with them.

00:25:44.000 He opened up the first club in Palm Beach that allowed Jewish people, black people, Italian people like me, who couldn't get into those clubs, to get into those clubs.

00:25:55.000 So can you say that Stephen Bannon doesn't run Donald Trump's campaign?

00:25:59.000 He's the CEO of the campaign.

00:26:00.000 Donald Trump runs Donald Trump's campaign.

00:26:01.000 Then what's he doing, even paying Stephen Bannon?

00:26:03.000 There are a lot of people that do different things.

00:26:05.000 But to say that Donald Trump is a racist is outrageous.

00:26:08.000 And to call anybody a racist is outrageous.

00:26:11.000 Well, hold on.

00:26:11.000 If there are people you can call racist... Well, you can't call him a racist because the man has done more for minorities over the last 30 years in terms of opening facilities for them, hiring them, promoting them, promoting the first woman to be the head of a construction company.

00:26:27.000 Can you say that?

00:26:28.000 Taking a guy who began as a caddy who's now making a couple million dollars a year running his technology.

00:26:34.000 I mean, this is a guy who has helped people

00:26:37.000 Black people, white people, it doesn't see people that way.

00:26:39.000 It's Hillary Clinton who says to us, we all have implicit bias, who I believe has a problem.

00:26:46.000 She should look in the mirror.

00:26:48.000 If she thinks we all have implicit bias, Hillary, I got news for you, I don't.

00:26:53.000 Maybe you do.

00:26:54.000 I have no racial guilt, not a single bit of it, which is why I'm willing to tell the truth about black crime and what has to be done about it. 1.00

00:27:03.000 Okay, there's a reason that Donald Trump is running at historic lows in the minority community.

00:27:11.000 I don't believe the headlines, by the way, about how he's winning by 23% among blacks.

00:27:15.000 There's one poll that shows him getting 23% of blacks.

00:27:18.000 That's the Rasmussen poll.

00:27:19.000 Every other poll shows him in low single digits.

00:27:21.000 But, again, the question for me is what happens after the election now.

00:27:25.000 Is everything being undermined, or is Donald Trump really building a movement?

00:27:29.000 You can see, again, people don't want to talk about this.

00:27:32.000 And I keep saying this because it's uncomfortable.

00:27:34.000 It's uncomfortable to talk about all of this.

00:27:35.000 So the reason it's uncomfortable for people to talk about this is because in these elections, and I'm tempted to do it too, I am, it's easy to fall into the old rooting patterns, you know, Republican versus Democrat, two bad people, pick one,

00:27:49.000 The reason that I don't do that is because my rule in this election and every election has been, whoever I vote for, it's not just a vote against the person who I'm voting against, it is also a vote for the person for whom I am voting.

00:28:01.000 And I have a certain basic standard that has not been fulfilled in these candidates.

00:28:05.000 And you do, too.

00:28:05.000 I mean, everybody does.

00:28:06.000 Everybody does.

00:28:07.000 You can admit it, you cannot admit it.

00:28:09.000 Unless you're somebody who truly believes that the ends justify every means, you believe it, too.

00:28:13.000 I was on the radio this morning with a gal who's a very pro-Trump friend of mine named Jen Horn. 0.95

00:28:17.000 Jen's a wonderful gal. 1.00

00:28:18.000 And I asked her, you know, a very specific question.

00:28:20.000 I said, OK, let's assume, because we're talking about, you know, why you wouldn't vote for Trump over Hillary, which is, people are still talking about this, obviously.

00:28:28.000 And one of the things that I said was, OK, let's assume that there were somebody who you think would be crucial to elect, but is somebody who's just wildly unpalatable as a human being.

00:28:37.000 Let's take David Duke, who's running for Senate in Louisiana.

00:28:40.000 Let's say that David Duke ran for Senate and he wrote the 60th vote to repeal Obamacare, for example.

00:28:45.000 Would you vote for David Duke if you lived in Louisiana?

00:28:49.000 And she said, yes.

00:28:50.000 And she said, yes.

00:28:51.000 And I said, well, I wouldn't.

00:28:54.000 Because there are certain standards of people for whom you won't vote.

00:28:57.000 I said, well, if you would vote for David Duke, who wouldn't you vote for?

00:28:59.000 What would the person have to do?

00:29:00.000 And she said, well, maybe if he was a murderer.

00:29:02.000 I said, well, but let's say that he were a murderer.

00:29:04.000 Wouldn't you just say, well, the collective good matters more?

00:29:07.000 Because that's the argument.

00:29:08.000 The argument is the collective good matters more.

00:29:10.000 The policy matters more.

00:29:11.000 It doesn't matter how bad the person is.

00:29:13.000 The policies they implement are what we're voting for.

00:29:17.000 If that's the truth, then we're now in a real ends-justify-the-means scenario, and that means you'll elect some of the worst people on Earth who you believe will promote your agenda.

00:29:26.000 And that's who you'll end up with.

00:29:27.000 You'll end up with the worst people on Earth.

00:29:29.000 And, you know, I don't use Hitler analogies, because I don't like Hitler analogies.

00:29:32.000 Typically, there's Hitler, and Hitler is Hitler. 0.82

00:29:35.000 But there are a lot of people—I'm going to use one now.

00:29:37.000 So the reason that I'm going to use one now is because people tend to, in the binary election cycle, they keep saying things like,

00:29:43.000 We sided with Stalin to stop Hitler. 0.82

00:29:46.000 Which is true.

00:29:47.000 Which is true.

00:29:48.000 Obviously.

00:29:49.000 The question is, how did Hitler get elected in the first place? 0.87

00:29:52.000 The reason Hitler got elected, and he was, he was elected in the first place, not to stop, not because he was a great guy, not because people even liked him that much, the reason that he was elected in the first place is to stop the communists. 0.92

00:30:05.000 And the idea was, yes, he's a bad guy, but we can use him because he's going to implement our agenda.

00:30:10.000 Once the ends justify the means, we've moved beyond the purpose of democracy and republicanism.

00:30:16.000 Once the ends justify the means, we've moved into the realm of seduction of evil.

00:30:20.000 I mean, it really is.

00:30:22.000 If the ends justify the means, if anything is on the table, so long as this person does the things you want them to do, then politicians are not answerable to people anymore.

00:30:31.000 The policies are the only thing that matters, and that's very dangerous territory, and it certainly is not conservative territory.

00:30:37.000 But, you know, that's the logic that's being pushed.

00:30:39.000 When you say lesser of two evils, that's the logic that it ends up becoming very quickly.

00:30:44.000 So, already, as I say, people don't want to think about these questions because these questions are very uncomfortable, and so instead they just revert to Hillary Clinton is the evil of all evils.

00:30:51.000 I agree. 0.99

00:30:51.000 She's awful, awful, awful, awful, awful. 0.99

00:30:53.000 She's terrible. 1.00

00:30:54.000 I don't blame you for voting Trump to stop Hillary Clinton.

00:30:56.000 I don't.

00:30:57.000 I understand it.

00:30:58.000 I find the logic compelling, but not persuasive.

00:31:01.000 But Donald Trump clearly is now not running.

00:31:04.000 He's now running for what happens after.

00:31:05.000 So here's Donald Trump.

00:31:06.000 He's on with Rush Limbaugh, and he's blaming everybody else for the fact that he's losing.

00:31:11.000 And here's the bottom line.

00:31:12.000 I think we're doing really well.

00:31:14.000 You know, they even put phony polls out there, Rush.

00:31:16.000 If you take a look at some of these polls, they're totally phony.

00:31:19.000 Now, the poll that called it correct for the last three presidential elections has us up by 2%.

00:31:26.000 And you take a look at the lines in Florida.

00:31:29.000 They're unbelievable what's going on.

00:31:31.000 And early polling at different places has us leading in a lot of different places that nobody was even thinking about.

00:31:38.000 So we'll see what happens.

00:31:40.000 But these are bad people, Rush.

00:31:42.000 And I mean, you've dealt with them for a long time, but they're bad. 0.98

00:31:45.000 They're bad and very evil people.

00:31:48.000 You have an interesting philosophy in the way of dealing with this, and people in public life have evolved different theories and ways.

00:31:57.000 But you are accused of whatever it is, with whatever subject.

00:32:01.000 You choose to defend yourself, right on the spot.

00:32:04.000 You choose to go after... People say, no, no, Mr. Trump, stick to the issues.

00:32:08.000 Don't let them sidetrack you that way.

00:32:10.000 What is your thinking on trying to repel... Go ahead.

00:32:16.000 Oh, he thinks we lost this.

00:32:18.000 His cell phone connection must have dumped.

00:32:20.000 That's all we need.

00:32:20.000 But in any case, there's Trump talking about how the polls are all rigged, everything is rigged.

00:32:25.000 And I think that one of the reasons that Rush and a lot of other conservatives have backed Trump is because they like the fact that he reacts to the media.

00:32:30.000 That's not the way that you win a general election, because he is totally reactive.

00:32:34.000 But this is, again, about building up a narrative that afterward there must be civil war.

00:32:38.000 Look, here's the deal.

00:32:39.000 November 9th, I don't want civil war.

00:32:42.000 I don't.

00:32:42.000 I'm not interested in civil war.

00:32:44.000 I'm interested in everybody going home and looking in the mirror and figuring out what we've done.

00:32:47.000 As I've said before, I think we conservatives, people who are people like Ted Cruz backers, what we've done is we've spent a long time telling you not that we're in a crisis scenario, because we are, but that every hill is the last hill to die on.

00:32:59.000 That if we don't die on this hill, that the republic will end.

00:33:01.000 And that leads to a crisis mentality that leads to the selection of the worst person, because after all, the ends justify the means.

00:33:08.000 So that's our mistake.

00:33:09.000 I think the establishment makes a mistake by pretending that there's a crisis or acting as though they believe there's a crisis to get elected, then not treating it like a crisis and disappointing everybody, and then yelling at us for not being sophisticated players.

00:33:20.000 And the Trump people, the people who are ardent Trump supporters, a lot of them just didn't realize what his policy preferences are.

00:33:25.000 But some of them were just reacting out of pure rage.

00:33:28.000 And you don't make good decisions when you're acting out of pure rage.

00:33:31.000 So everybody has to look in the mirror a little bit.

00:33:33.000 What I'm not interested in is recriminations where we all blame each other.

00:33:36.000 Okay, I'm not interested in ousting Trump voters from the party.

00:33:40.000 I'm not.

00:33:40.000 I'm not interested in ousting establishment people from the party.

00:33:43.000 I'm interested in who runs the party coming up, but that's a discussion we're going to have to have about principle less than about politics.

00:33:50.000 The Trump people are the ones who want the battle.

00:33:51.000 They want the fight because they feel that they have to purge

00:33:54.000 All of the people who are enemies of Trump in order to explain why Trump lost.

00:33:57.000 So Pat Buchanan, who's legitimately a scummy guy.

00:34:00.000 I mean, Pat Buchanan, I haven't called a lot of people in public life actual anti-Semites.

00:34:04.000 Pat Buchanan is one.

00:34:05.000 Pat Buchanan is a fellow who back in the 1980s directed Ronald Reagan to do a tribute service to dead SS soldiers at a memorial in Bitburg, Germany.

00:34:16.000 Reagan didn't know what he was doing, but Pat Buchanan certainly did.

00:34:19.000 Buchanan is somebody who says we shouldn't have even fought World War II.

00:34:21.000 We should have let Hitler win so that he could take on Stalin. 0.99

00:34:24.000 Pappy Cannon, not a good guy, but he's a big Trump backer because they grant a lot of policies, and here is Pappy Cannon talking about what happens post-Trump.

00:34:32.000 Now I read how moral and great and progressive these guys did who have dumped Trump and cut him dead, and how they're going to do really well and they're the rebuilders of the party.

00:34:44.000 I really don't think so.

00:34:46.000 I don't think guys, when you're at Gettysburg and you've lost Gettysburg,

00:34:50.000 That the guys that weren't there, or that knocked you, are the ones at whom you elevate in honor and reward.

00:34:56.000 I think you're going to have... I think all these folks that have abandoned Trump, I don't think any of them will ever be nominated for President of the United States.

00:35:06.000 And that means John Kasich, that means Jeb Bush, that means Lindsey Graham, that means... I think Bush Republicanism is dead.

00:35:14.000 I really do.

00:35:17.000 It's big ideas.

00:35:18.000 What were they?

00:35:19.000 You know, quote, immigration reform, which was another word for amnesty.

00:35:22.000 He had his wars in Iraq and all that, you know, we're going to make democracies out of all these countries in the Middle East.

00:35:27.000 So Pat Buchanan, in other words, is focused on turning the Republican Party into Trumpism forever.

00:35:32.000 And the only way to do that is by excising the other parts of the party, which means it's a minority party forever.

00:35:37.000 And it's a minority party that's really ugly in orientation because Pat Buchanan is an alt-right guy who believes in this sort of ethno-cultural

00:35:44.000 Solidarity in Western civilization, not cultural solidarity, ethno-cultural solidarity, the idea of the superiority of the European peoples as opposed to the superiority of European civilization.

00:35:54.000 And they're building for post-November 8th.

00:35:57.000 So while everybody is still focused in on Hillary, Trump isn't, Buchanan isn't, Hannity isn't.

00:36:01.000 They're already preparing for November 9th.

00:36:04.000 You should be aware of this because you should be thinking right now, how are you going to think on November 9th after Trump loses?

00:36:10.000 How are you going to think if he loses?

00:36:12.000 Which, again, all data shows he will.

00:36:15.000 If he loses, how are you going to be thinking on November 9th?

00:36:17.000 Are you going to be thinking along the lines of, let's purge all the people who didn't support Donald Trump all the way down the line despite his toxicity, despite the fact he's losing women dramatically, despite there's a fact out that young people, 18 to 29, are voting Hillary 59 to 25.

00:36:30.000 He's destroyed republicanism for an entire generation of people.

00:36:33.000 Are you going to burn down the people who decided they couldn't vote for him?

00:36:35.000 Are you going to burn down the people who are reluctant about him?

00:36:37.000 Or are you going to say, listen, we all better get together around a set of principles rather than worship of a guy who actually stands for a lot of bad principles.

00:36:46.000 Now, one of the reasons that Trump has been allowed to get away with this routine, and so has Pat Buchanan, one of the reasons for that is because the media truly are terrible.

00:36:53.000 So when you watch Gingrich with Kelly and Gingrich is criticizing the media,

00:36:58.000 It's a mistake for members of the right who don't like Trump to say that Gingrich is totally wrong.

00:37:03.000 He's not.

00:37:03.000 The media are terrible.

00:37:04.000 They're really terrible.

00:37:05.000 Here's an example.

00:37:06.000 Chris Matthews, don't have anything to say. 1.00

00:37:08.000 Joe Biden, idiot Joe Biden, the vice president of the United States, God help us. 0.99

00:37:13.000 Joe Biden said that he wanted to fight Donald Trump. 0.99

00:37:16.000 So Chris Matthews, imagine if Donald Trump said he wanted to fight Joe Biden.

00:37:20.000 Right, imagine he'd initiated that.

00:37:21.000 He actually did say it, but it was in response.

00:37:23.000 Imagine that he said, I want to fight Joe Biden, I want to fight Barack Obama.

00:37:26.000 End of the world, right?

00:37:27.000 Violent rhetoric from the Republican nominee.

00:37:29.000 Joe Biden says exactly that, so what does the media do?

00:37:32.000 Chris Matthews from the NBC.

00:37:33.000 Come on! 0.61

00:37:34.000 Here's boxing gloves!

00:37:36.000 It'll be great!

00:37:36.000 Pugnacious, Joe!

00:37:37.000 Pugnacious! 0.98

00:37:38.000 I mean, it'll be sick! 0.97

00:37:39.000 Chris Matthews, go!

00:37:40.000 I've been listening to you the last couple days.

00:37:42.000 You're talking about taking on Donald Trump with fisticuffs.

00:37:45.000 Behind the gym.

00:37:46.000 So I brought something along for you that might be helpful to you in your new endeavor.

00:37:52.000 A couple of boxing gloves.

00:37:53.000 These are worn boxing gloves.

00:37:55.000 These are the real thing.

00:37:56.000 Well, let me tell you, Chris, I was trying to make a point.

00:37:59.000 And, you know, you and I grew up in similar neighborhoods, I think.

00:38:04.000 And the way... Somerton.

00:38:06.000 Well, Scranton.

00:38:07.000 Scranton and Claymont.

00:38:09.000 One of the things that Trump is trying to say is that

00:38:13.000 I was a pretty good athlete in high school, played a little in college, and people didn't act in the locker room like he talks about.

00:38:19.000 That's not true.

00:38:21.000 And you and I both know from the locker room and the school I went to, one of the guys said, this is what I'm going to do because I'm the star halfback or quarterback, I'm the boss, and my sister and her girlfriends are out there, I would take the guy behind the gym.

00:38:34.000 The point I was making is he is trying to dumb down.

00:38:38.000 He's insulting

00:38:39.000 Everybody in the neighborhoods I come from, and the people who play ball.

00:38:43.000 And that was the point I was trying to make.

00:38:45.000 This is just absolutely unacceptable behavior.

00:38:48.000 Period.

00:39:10.000 Okay, so you wonder why there's this much hatred of the media on the right.

00:39:15.000 This is why there's this much hatred, and this is what Trump is looking to play on, and the anger at the media is totally justified.

00:39:21.000 Here's another example.

00:39:22.000 Wolf Blitzer on CNN.

00:39:23.000 He asks Kellyanne Conway to get Trump to stop attacking the media.

00:39:27.000 Come on.

00:39:29.000 Go to all these rallies.

00:39:30.000 They're in this pen.

00:39:31.000 He points to them.

00:39:32.000 He sort of eggs the crowd on to go after them.

00:39:36.000 These, these, and there are a lot of young journalists there, they're scared sometimes.

00:39:39.000 I know them all.

00:39:40.000 I respect them all.

00:39:41.000 He shouldn't be doing that.

00:39:42.000 I mean, could you talk to him and say to him, Mr. Trump, you only have a few days left.

00:39:47.000 These are hardworking young journalists.

00:39:49.000 They deserve to have some security, if you will, because some of those Trump supporters out there, they get pretty nasty in what they're screaming at these young people.

00:39:57.000 Look, your first point, yes, I will tell him that.

00:40:00.000 And he's probably watching right now.

00:40:01.000 But secondly, the only violence I saw at rallies so far was what we saw on videotape by somebody whose cohorts were in the White House 346 times, actively paying people $1,500 a pop to be protesters to incite violence at Trump rallies.

00:40:18.000 That's being done by Democratic operatives.

00:40:20.000 The stink goes all the way up the chain through the DNC and related groups.

00:40:24.000 Conway is totally right here.

00:40:25.000 I do find it humorous that she's saying that she'll tell Donald Trump a message from Wolf Blitzer about the media.

00:40:30.000 But, of course people are angry at the media.

00:40:32.000 They should be angry at the media.

00:40:33.000 And Wolf Blitzer pretending that the media are all victims of the Trump people.

00:40:37.000 Come on.

00:40:38.000 Okay, I don't remember Wolf Blitzer saying this to Black Lives Matter, do you?

00:40:41.000 At Black Lives Matter rallies or Black Lives Matter associated riots?

00:40:46.000 Journalists have been physically assaulted.

00:40:47.000 I don't remember Wolf Blitzer ever saying to President Obama, could you tell the Black Lives Matter crowd, you know, the ones that you keep pandering to, you have DeRay McKesson to the White House, could you have DeRay McKesson maybe say that it would be bad to target journalists?

00:40:59.000 It's pretty incredible.

00:41:01.000 Of course, Americans hate the media.

00:41:03.000 They should hate the media.

00:41:03.000 Stephen Colbert, who's just an exorable host.

00:41:06.000 I mean, he's an awful, awful host.

00:41:08.000 Stephen Colbert has no ratings.

00:41:09.000 We're doubling his ratings just by showing this clip on our show.

00:41:12.000 Here is Stephen Colbert going after Donald Trump in the worst possible way.

00:41:16.000 Yesterday, he held a rally in Tampa, Florida, and you might want to get the children out of the room, because things got pretty steamy.

00:41:25.000 There he is, on stage, saying hi to the crowd, going over to hug one of his loved ones, and it's an American flag.

00:41:36.000 Yes, that's right.

00:41:41.000 Donald Trump just groped the American flag.

00:41:48.000 Fine.

00:41:52.000 You know, they let you do that if you're a star.

00:41:56.000 I feel sorry for the flag.

00:41:59.000 Flag had to just sit there and take it because those colors don't run.

00:42:04.000 Now, this is true.

00:42:05.000 I actually was watching TV last night.

00:42:07.000 I saw this when it happened.

00:42:09.000 And I was having a conversation with my wife and I said, I'm sorry, stop for a second.

00:42:13.000 What?

00:42:13.000 I had to watch it three times to make sure I wasn't having a stroke.

00:42:19.000 Jim, can we see that magic moment again?

00:42:23.000 We didn't mock that up.

00:42:24.000 That is insane.

00:42:26.000 He knows we salute the flag in America, right?

00:42:30.000 We don't dry hump it.

00:42:33.000 OK, we can stop.

00:42:34.000 I'm sorry.

00:42:35.000 Americans look at this.

00:42:36.000 A lot of Americans look at this. 0.68

00:42:37.000 They say he's awful.

00:42:39.000 The media is awful.

00:42:40.000 And what they see is a guy who likes the flag, right?

00:42:43.000 And what he sees is a guy dry-humping the flag, because this is what the left sees.

00:42:48.000 The left doesn't like the flag all that much.

00:42:49.000 These are the same people who think Colin Kaepernick is a wonderful fellow for kneeling during the national anthem to dishonor the flag.

00:42:55.000 So, no wonder people are angry, and Trump is playing on that anger, but he's not playing on it to win, he's now playing on it for his own self-aggrandizement, and that's what I'm telling you to look out for, because after this election cycle is over, you're gonna have to decide who was to blame for this.

00:43:08.000 You're gonna have to decide, what can we all do to make this better?

00:43:11.000 Or, I guess we can just go along with Trump, pay him 12 bucks a month, and be told that the Trump movement is on the rise, and it's time for an alt-right nationalist populist party to replace that old failing Republican party.

00:43:21.000 You know, the one that didn't lose by 7 or 8 points in a general election, the one that actually owns most of the governorships, the one that had blowout victories in 2010 and 2014 in the House and the Senate.

00:43:30.000 Okay, time for some things I like, things I hate, and then we will do some Bible talk.

00:43:34.000 So, things I like today.

00:43:37.000 We've been doing comics, so this one is the sequel.

00:43:40.000 Last week, we did The Long Halloween.

00:43:43.000 This week is a sequel to the other great Batman comic, Dark Victory.

00:43:47.000 It's really terrific.

00:43:49.000 Jeff Loeb, again, you should know his work from Daredevil, if you like the series on Netflix.

00:43:52.000 He's the creative director on that.

00:43:54.000 He's one of the best in the business.

00:43:56.000 All of his stuff is very noir-based, so this is almost like a film noir, and it's really, really strong stuff.

00:44:01.000 Batman Dark Victory, you can check that out at Amazon.com.

00:44:04.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.

00:44:11.000 So, we'll start with Sean Hannity on his radio show yesterday.

00:44:15.000 Again, I think that Sean Hannity has done a lot of wonderful things for the conservative movement.

00:44:19.000 I think he's been a great spokesman for a lot of conservative ideas.

00:44:23.000 But this is, I don't know why, what he's thinking here.

00:44:25.000 I don't know why he would want to poison his own kind of history.

00:44:30.000 He's somebody who rightly has talked about President Obama's history of extremism.

00:44:34.000 He said this yesterday on his show.

00:44:36.000 Josh Earnest, the White House propagandist, was asked yesterday whether Obama was planning to flee abroad if Trump, a man he said is unfit to hold office.

00:44:46.000 By the way, if anyone was unfit, if we haven't learned by now, it's Obama.

00:44:51.000 God, the worst presidency in our lifetime by far.

00:44:55.000 In response, Earnest would only say that Obama was campaigning to ensure that no one would have to leave because of a Donald Trump presidency.

00:45:03.000 The rumor mill apparently first started when a Canadian satire site carried an article saying Obama was planning to move to Canada if Trump was victorious.

00:45:12.000 The piece was entitled, Obama declares his family will move to Canada if Trump is elected.

00:45:19.000 And carried a fictitious statement supposedly from Obama which said, it's something Michelle, the kids, and I have discussed as a potential solution to the Donald.

00:45:28.000 Anyway, when asked about the rumors on Air Force One, Ernest said Obama would spend a significant time campaigning for Hillary and other Democrats down the ballot.

00:45:36.000 He's working very hard to make sure that nobody has to leave the country, blah blah.

00:45:40.000 So they're not saying for sure.

00:45:43.000 Well, I have an offer for the President.

00:45:45.000 I will charter a plane for you and your family.

00:45:48.000 I will make sure it's as big a plane as Air Force One.

00:45:50.000 What you have grown accustomed to, in other words, taxpayer-funded plane.

00:45:55.000 I don't know where I'm going to get it.

00:45:56.000 Maybe I'll just

00:45:58.000 Maybe I'll ask Trump if I can charter his plane.

00:46:00.000 For Obama.

00:46:02.000 I will charter Donald Trump's plane if he'll let me.

00:46:06.000 And I will charter it to the country of your choice.

00:46:08.000 You want to go to Canada?

00:46:09.000 I'll pay for you to go to Canada.

00:46:10.000 Want to go to Kenya?

00:46:11.000 I'll pay for you to go to Kenya. 1.00

00:46:12.000 Jakarta?

00:46:13.000 Where you went to school back in the day?

00:46:15.000 You can go back there.

00:46:16.000 Anywhere you want to go.

00:46:19.000 I'll put the finest food, caviar, champagne, you name it.

00:46:23.000 How is this smart?

00:46:24.000 I have one stipulation.

00:46:25.000 You can't come back.

00:46:26.000 That's what he says.

00:46:27.000 You can't come back.

00:46:27.000 Okay, how is that smart?

00:46:28.000 Like, he's not a birther.

00:46:29.000 I know Sean's not a birther. 0.98

00:46:31.000 So why is he doing this routine?

00:46:33.000 It just gives ammunition to the enemy.

00:46:35.000 It just gives ammunition to the real bad guys, the folks on the left who have been claiming this whole time that we're all closet birthers who think that Obama was born in Kenya.

00:46:43.000 And there he says, I'll send you on a plane to Kenya. 0.92

00:46:45.000 Why would Obama want to go to Kenya?

00:46:47.000 He has no interest in being in Kenya.

00:46:48.000 He doesn't even, like, he went there for five minutes in his book, Dreams from My Father. 0.94

00:46:52.000 But it's just it's just it's foolish and this is the there's such a thing as counterproductive, folks, whether you like it or not. 0.82

00:47:00.000 There is such a thing as politically counterproductive.

00:47:02.000 If you want to win, perhaps you should do things that are not politically counterproductive.

00:47:06.000 But this is no longer about winning.

00:47:07.000 This is just about getting people angry now.

00:47:09.000 And that's that's really sad.

00:47:11.000 OK, other things that I hate.

00:47:12.000 Michael Moore is is has now cut a video on behalf of Donald Trump, which is really weird.

00:47:17.000 I'm not sure what to make of this.

00:47:19.000 That's why every beaten down, nameless, forgotten, working stiff, who used to be part of what was called the middle class, loves Trump.

00:47:27.000 He is the human Molotov cocktail that they've been waiting for. 0.94

00:47:34.000 The human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them.

00:47:40.000 And on November 8th, Election Day, although they've lost their jobs, although they've been foreclosed on by the bank,

00:47:49.000 Next came the divorce, and now the wife and kids are gone.

00:47:52.000 The car's been repoed.

00:47:53.000 They haven't had a real vacation in years. 0.92

00:47:56.000 They're stuck with the Obamacare bronze plan, where you can't even get a f***ing Percocet.

00:48:03.000 They've essentially lost everything they had!

00:48:07.000 Except one thing.

00:48:10.000 The one thing that doesn't cost them a cent and is guaranteed to them by the American Constitution, the right to vote.

00:48:22.000 That kind of dispossessed white people are going to back Trump because of all of this.

00:48:27.000 And that, of course, is Helen Thomas speaking.

00:48:29.000 Or Tootles from Hook.

00:48:30.000 One of the two.

00:48:31.000 In any case, here's what I hate about this.

00:48:33.000 He's not wrong about a lot of this, about the feeling.

00:48:35.000 He actually isn't.

00:48:36.000 But you understand that Michael Moore has made his living on grievance culture.

00:48:40.000 It's where he makes a living.

00:48:41.000 He's on the hard left.

00:48:42.000 His whole hard left routine is, you are aggrieved, vote into power somebody who is powerful in order to make your grievances

00:48:50.000 A thing of the past in order to fix all those grievances.

00:48:53.000 When Michael Moore is siding with Donald Trump, when Michael Moore is putting his grievance culture on the side of the Republican candidate that says something that's not very good about the Republican candidate, yes, you can tell something by your enemies.

00:49:05.000 You can also tell something by your friends.

00:49:08.000 I'm old enough to remember when Michael Moore was at the 2004 DNC sitting in a box with John Kerry, and he was considered the hardest left guy there was, and now here he is on stage praising Donald Trump?

00:49:17.000 If you think that's a positive movement in favor of conservatism in America, you got something wrong here.

00:49:22.000 Okay, so, we'll do a little bit of Bible today.

00:49:25.000 We do have a show today, we have a show tomorrow, and we do have a show on Friday.

00:49:28.000 We'll do Deconstructing the Culture on Friday, so for the second straight time we'll postpone Deconstructing the Culture, but don't worry, we'll get to it.

00:49:35.000 But a little bit of Bible talk.

00:49:37.000 So this week,

00:49:38.000 We restarted the Bible.

00:49:40.000 So in the Jewish tradition, every week we do a different portion of the Bible.

00:49:46.000 And yesterday we finished reading the Bible and then we restarted the five books of Moses.

00:49:50.000 So we start with Genesis.

00:49:52.000 And I want to talk about the story of Adam and Eve a little bit.

00:49:55.000 I'm taking this interpretation from Rabbi David Foreman, whose books are very good.

00:49:59.000 I've recommended his book on this before.

00:50:01.000 This is from Genesis 3, 1 through 6.

00:50:04.000 So, this is the part where the serpent basically seduces Eve into eating from the apple, original sin.

00:50:10.000 And the serpent was cunning more than all the beasts of the field the Lord God had made.

00:50:13.000 And it said to the woman, Did God indeed say, You shall not eat of any of the trees of the garden?

00:50:18.000 And the woman said to the serpent, Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat.

00:50:21.000 But of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, God said, You shall not eat of it, and you shall not touch it, lest you die.

00:50:26.000 And the serpent said to the woman, You will surely not die, for God knows that on the day you eat thereof your eyes will be opened, you will be like angels, knowing good and evil.

00:50:35.000 And the woman saw the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and the tree was desirable to make one wise.

00:50:40.000 So she took of its fruit, and she ate, and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

00:50:44.000 So the question that Rabbi Foreman asks, and it's a great question, is,

00:50:48.000 What exactly is the serpent's pitch here?

00:50:50.000 What's his pitch?

00:50:51.000 Like, his original question, did God indeed say you shall not eat of any of the trees of the garden?

00:50:56.000 First of all, number one, the serpent already said, the serpent knows already, right?

00:51:01.000 He's asking this question because he knows the story, and he knows that God didn't say you can't eat any of the trees of the garden, but what's the actual case here?

00:51:08.000 Like, God said no, and now you should say yes?

00:51:10.000 Like, it's not an actual case.

00:51:12.000 What he's actually saying here, according to Rabbi Forman, I think is a beautiful interpretation.

00:51:16.000 He says,

00:51:20.000 And what he's really saying is, yes, I know God told you not to eat from this particular tree.

00:51:26.000 I know God told you not to eat from that particular tree.

00:51:28.000 But didn't he create you with desires to eat from that particular tree?

00:51:32.000 Didn't, down in your heart, you know, God may have told you verbally, but he wants you to be an independent human being.

00:51:37.000 He wants you to be like God, right?

00:51:39.000 He wants you to be capable of independent thought.

00:51:41.000 So deep down, on the inside, don't you feel the desire to eat from the fruit of that tree?

00:51:48.000 And would God have created that desire within you if he didn't mean for you to humor that desire and go along with that desire?

00:51:54.000 Right?

00:51:54.000 Why would God create these conflicting ideas?

00:51:56.000 The order not to eat, but this desire to eat.

00:51:59.000 Isn't your nature the truest evidence that God wants you to eat from that tree?

00:52:04.000 And this has been the pitch of secular leftism in the 19th and 20th and 21st centuries for the last 150 years.

00:52:11.000 The idea that nature, that what God wants of you, that what morality demands of you, is only what your biology desires.

00:52:17.000 That you're not here to overcome your nature.

00:52:20.000 That God doesn't give you inclinations that you're supposed to fight in order to become a more spiritual human being.

00:52:25.000 That really what God did was God planted within you desires and anything that's counter to those desires is thus immoral.

00:52:32.000 It's sort of the Lady Gaga, born this way notion.

00:52:35.000 I'm on the right track, baby.

00:52:37.000 I was born this way.

00:52:38.000 That routine.

00:52:40.000 It's a beautiful interpretation, because that's obviously a threat that continues to bug us throughout human history, the seduction of human nature.

00:52:50.000 We're going to take a quick break here for our friends over at Wink.com.

00:52:54.000 Wink.com used to be Club W, but Wink.com, these are the people where you go to their website, they give you a taste profile, what kind of wines you'll like.

00:53:02.000 I'm not a wine expert.

00:53:02.000 I don't know anything about wine.

00:53:03.000 I just know what tastes good to me.

00:53:05.000 But what they do is, I wouldn't know a white wine from a red wine other than the color, really.

00:53:11.000 But the people at Wink.com, they match up what kind of wine you would like to the other flavor profiles that you would enjoy.

00:53:17.000 And then, you can buy the wine really cheap, and they send it to you.

00:53:21.000 It's apparently, according to the folks in the office, the wine is really terrific.

00:53:23.000 That's why they're half drunk all the time and the sound doesn't match up, because they've all gotten their product from Wink.com and they're drinking on the job.

00:53:30.000 But they're the best we can hire, so sorry about that.

00:53:31.000 But Wink.com is the place you can go in order to become a part of this, in order to get these great wines at a really low price.

00:53:41.000 It's W-I-N-C dot com. 1.00

00:53:43.000 It's W-I-N-C, not wink like your eye, like W-I-N-C dot com. 0.94

00:53:48.000 And it is the same amazing wine company, and all their wines are produced in-house, and they're really top-notch, according to all the people I know who have tried them.

00:53:56.000 Trywink.com and they cover the shipping.

00:53:59.000 And they offer listeners $20 off right now, so that's at least a couple of bottles of wine, I believe.

00:54:03.000 When you go to trywink.com and they cover the shipping again, and they help you determine what's a good wine to bring to your friend's house if you don't know anything about wine.

00:54:12.000 Tomorrow, we'll be talking more, I'm sure, about the presidential race.

00:54:16.000 Donald Trump is now making the case that this is the last race that will ever happen in the United States, and we'll talk about whether that is true or whether that is not. 0.98

00:54:24.000 Hillary Clinton continues to be the most corrupt, bat-crazy woman ever to run for presidency. 1.00

00:54:30.000 We will continue to spiral toward the seventh circle of hell. 1.00

00:54:32.000 We have 13 more days to do it, and we'll be there with you every step of the way.

00:54:36.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
