The Ben Shapiro Show

Ep. 307 - Terror Rocks Britain — And The Left Exposes Itself | The Ben Shapiro Show

Summary

Trump uses the term "losers" to describe the terrorists responsible for the attack on an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, which left at least 12 dead and many more wounded. Is this how a president is supposed to act when it comes to dealing with terrorists? Or is it more like a third grader calling them "liars"? Ben Shapiro argues that Trump is correct and that terrorists are losers who deserve no sympathy and deserve no questions. He also argues that we should stop using the language of strength to describe those who act out of weakness and instead describe them as "weak, puny human beings" who aren't winning any battles in heaven or on earth. They're not heroes, they're not warriors, they are not victims. They are evil losers, and we need to call them out for what they are: losers. Ben Shapiro's full response to President Trump's comments on the attack in Manchester and the response from the left and right on the need for sympathy for the victims of an attack that killed at least 22 people and injured at least 59 more. 00:00:00.000 On Tuesday, President Trump, speaking from Judea and Samaria while standing next to master terrorist supporter, Palestinian dictator Mahmoud Abbas, tore into the Islamic terrorists responsible for the bombing of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester on Monday evening.
00:00:13.000 He said, so many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life.
00:00:19.000 I won't call them monsters because they would like that term.
00:00:21.000 They would think that's a great name.
00:00:23.000 I will call them from now on losers because that's what they are.
00:00:25.000 They're losers and we'll have more of them, but they're losers.
00:00:27.000 Just remember that.
00:00:28.000 Some on the left predictably thought Trump's languish was childish.
00:00:31.000 Una Hajdari said, Trump on the Manchester attack.
00:00:34.000 So many people killed by evil losers.
00:00:35.000 He sound like a high school girl reacting to her hair being pulled.
00:00:39.000 Alan Greenspan, Trump sounds like a third grader name calling terrorists evil losers.
00:00:43.000 Is this how a president is supposed to act?
00:00:45.000 Here's the thing.
00:00:46.000 Trump is 100% absolutely positively correct.
00:00:49.000 Every time there is an Islamic terrorist attack, people immediately jump to trying to understand the mind of the terrorist.
00:00:55.000 What drove him to blow himself up in a pizzeria or at a dance club?
00:00:58.000 What made him pick up a gun and mow down patrons in a gay bar?
00:01:01.000 Why would he drive a truck through a Christmas market?
00:01:03.000 We all know the answer.
00:01:05.000 Islamic extremism.
00:01:07.000 But by constantly asking the question, and then answering it with various laments about poverty or lack of opportunity, we put the onus on ourselves to answer the charge implicit in terrorism.
00:01:16.000 That the terrorists are the actual victims, and that they have somehow been wronged.
00:01:20.000 Here's the truth.
00:01:21.000 They haven't been wronged.
00:01:22.000 They are, as President Trump says, evil losers.
00:01:24.000 They deserve no answer.
00:01:26.000 They deserve no sympathy.
00:01:27.000 They require no explanation from us.
00:01:29.000 Those who would murder children at a pop concert ought to be killed at the earliest available opportunity, and we shouldn't bother trying to decrypt how the monsters were created.
00:01:37.000 That's because they're not monsters at all.
00:01:38.000 They're human beings who believe evil things, and they are losers who aren't winning any battles in heaven or on earth.
00:01:43.000 Their names will disappear from history and their souls burn in hell eternally.
00:01:47.000 Trump is also right that we must stop using the language of strength to describe those who act out of weakness.
00:01:52.000 If you have to blow up 13-year-old girls listening to teeny pop material, you're not a powerful monster.
00:01:56.000 You're a worm, a feeble piece of human refuse.
00:01:59.000 We should describe terrorists with contempt, not build them up in their own minds.
00:02:02.000 Islamic terrorists feed off the notion that the West lives in fear of them.
00:02:06.000 We live in fear of things they will do, obviously, but we don't live in fear of them because they're ridiculous, puny human beings.
00:02:11.000 Ridiculous and puny human beings can harm innocent people too, but handing them an unearned moniker like monster, scary by nature, is counterproductive and boosts egos where no boost is necessary.
00:02:20.000 So, good for Trump.
00:02:22.000 Trump knows well how to demean people and make them feel smaller.
00:02:25.000 And Islamic terrorists should be made to feel small.
00:02:27.000 They should be scorned, derided, mocked, treated as small.
00:02:30.000 They're not martyrs.
00:02:31.000 They're not warriors.
00:02:32.000 They're not victims.
00:02:33.000 They're evil losers.
00:02:34.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:02:35.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:02:40.000 It's obviously a horrific terrorist attack in Manchester, UK, last night.
00:02:44.000 We now know more about the person who was responsible for this horrific terror attack.
00:02:50.000 Apparently, he was British-born, known to authorities prior to the attack.
00:02:54.000 His name was Abadi, I guess, Salman Abadi, 23 years old, and ISIS claims that Abadi was a caliphate soldier.
00:03:01.000 They've claimed responsibility for the attack.
00:03:04.000 CBS News says that another person has been arrested in southern Manchester in connection with the attack.
00:03:08.000 Officials believe only a single device was planted at the arena, but they've detonated another in South Manchester So I guess that there was another one that was out there and the it was One of the people who was killed was in an eight-year-old girl They're a bunch of an 18 year old woman and 26 year old John Atkinson of the injured 59 were taken to the hospital of which at least 12 were children and we always forget by the way that
00:03:32.000 That when there's a bombing like this, the people who are injured, not just the people who are wounded, the people who are injured sometimes have their lives ruined because if you catch a bolt to the brain, it's going to destroy your life.
00:03:40.000 If you lose your leg, if you are grievously wounded in sensitive areas of the body, then it can destroy your life whether or not you die.
00:03:46.000 We tend to look at the death toll, but not at the wounded toll, and that's a mistake.
00:03:50.000 We'll talk more about all of this.
00:03:52.000 But first, we want to say thank you to our sponsors over at ZipRecruiter.

00:05:00.000 Okay, so...
00:05:02.000 Yesterday, when this attack is going down, I'm watching CNN, because I'm at the gym and I can't change the channel, and while I'm watching it, my phone starts buzzing.
00:05:13.000 And it starts buzzing because the attack is happening, but CNN isn't covering the attack.
00:05:16.000 CNN is covering the Trump-Russia allegations.
00:05:19.000 We'll get to all of that a little bit later, but if you look at the media news this morning, you can see that while Fox News has been amply covering the Manchester attack,
00:05:27.000 A lot of the other networks have already moved on from the Manchester attack, and they're talking about John Brennan, former head of the CIA, speaking with Congress, or they're talking Trump-Russia, and you can see the priorities that the media have here.
00:05:38.000 Regardless of what you think of President Trump, regardless of whether you think that he is corrupt or whether he colluded, which there's no evidence he did, regardless of what you think, the big news story yesterday was none of the Trump-Russia stuff.
00:05:48.000 It was the fact that there was an evil terrorist who blew himself up in the middle of an Ariana Grande concert,
00:05:53.000 And murdered 22 people and another 59 injured.
00:05:57.000 That is the big story of yesterday.
00:05:58.000 If Barack Obama were president, I promise you the media would be covering it wall-to-wall because Trump is president.
00:06:03.000 They cover it sporadically so that they can say that they did it, but they don't cover it wall-to-wall in any serious way.
00:06:09.000 And Trump does get credit for calling this out in a way that Obama never did.
00:06:13.000 I think that Trump is right on point when he says what he says about these people being evil losers.
00:06:18.000 Here's President Obama making this comment.
00:06:20.000 This is from Bethlehem.
00:06:21.000 This is clip 13.
00:06:24.000 So many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life.
00:06:36.000 I won't call them monsters, because they would like that term.
00:06:43.000 They would think that's a great name.
00:06:48.000 I will call them, from now on, losers.
00:06:54.000 Because that's what they are.
00:06:55.000 They're losers.
00:06:58.000 And we'll have more of them.
00:07:00.000 But they're losers.
00:07:01.000 Just remember that.
00:07:03.000 And I think that he's totally right, and this is something worthwhile for Trump to say.
00:07:06.000 I called him Obama before, obviously that's Trump.
00:07:08.000 And Trump is 100% right.
00:07:09.000 When the left starts ripping on him for saying stuff like this, this is why Trump is more popular among a certain segment of the population than the Democrats.
00:07:16.000 And you can certainly see that because Trump does something that I think the rest of us need to recognize.
00:07:22.000 It's not our job to identify why evil people believe evil things.
00:07:27.000 It is our job to destroy the evil people.
00:07:30.000 You know, the best movie villain of all time is the Joker in Batman.
00:07:35.000 And one of the reasons the Joker in Batman is such a great movie villain is because you don't know his background.
00:07:39.000 Two or three times in the film, the Joker starts to tell about how his face was carved up, and he tells different stories.
00:07:45.000 And the purpose of that is to demonstrate that true evil doesn't need a rationale.
00:07:49.000 True evil doesn't need a reason.
00:07:50.000 Now, we know the rationale for Islamic terrorism, and it is an interpretation of Islam that justifies jihad.
00:07:56.000 We know that that's a widespread interpretation of Islam.
00:07:58.000 This is not a minor strain inside Islam.
00:08:00.000 There are probably tens of millions of people at the least who believe it, maybe hundreds of millions who believe it.
00:08:04.000 But that said,
00:08:06.000 What Trump is doing here by saying, listen, I'm not interested in doing a psychological study, a psychological profile of these losers, is he's demeaning them in a way that they ought to be demeaned.
00:08:16.000 The left, meanwhile, is trying to come up with reasons why the West is actually responsible for this so we can solve all of the problems.
00:08:21.000 I think that's because, for a lot of folks on the left, they're looking for a solution to terrorism that doesn't involve just killing as many terrorists as humanly possible.
00:08:27.000 On the right, people seem pretty willing to go to, okay, let's kill as many of these people as possible, let's humiliate them, let's destroy them, let's wipe them off the face of the earth.
00:08:35.000 On the left, it's gotta be, well, if we just were nicer in a certain way, if we just, if we just focused on income inequality, if we just focused on global warming, maybe all of that would change, so...
00:08:44.000 Take, for example, Chelsea Clinton.
00:08:46.000 So Chelsea Clinton is being pushed by the left as some newfangled Democrat who's going to come along and save them.
00:08:50.000 Listen, if your last hope is Chelsea Clinton, folks, you're done as a party.
00:08:54.000 If Chelsea Clinton is your great hope for a resurrection as a party, you're finished.
00:08:58.000 She was discussing at some sort of women's conference the
00:09:02.000 Interlinkage, what she called the interconnections between child marriage, right?
00:09:06.000 We're talking about the rape of small children and climate change.
00:09:08.000 Watch, watch.
00:09:09.000 This is how Democrats tend to think about terrorism.
00:09:12.000 This is how they tend to think about radical Islam.
00:09:14.000 I think it's part of this broader network of thinking and it's just idiotic.
00:09:18.000 I don't know.
00:09:37.000 All of those are, of course, interconnected.
00:09:40.000 We have to focus on each of them, kind of, in their interconnectedness, and also as kind of individual outrages.
00:09:48.000 Okay, it's meaningless bullcrap, and this is why when Trump said during the campaign, bomb the crap out of them, except he didn't use the word crap, a lot of most Americans, I would say, resonated to that, because what the hell is this supposed to mean?
00:09:59.000 If the left's perspective on terrorism is, well, it's all interconnected, you know, technological change and climate change and child marriage.
00:10:05.000 Okay, you explain to me how a dude not having access to an iPhone is responsible for raping an 11-year-old girl.
00:10:11.000 You explain that one to me, Chelsea Clinton.
00:10:13.000 Why it is that we shouldn't respond to that guy by locking him up or killing him, as opposed to, I don't know, talking about whether we can expand broadband to Pakistan.
00:10:23.000 But this is why people don't resonate to the left on these issues.
00:10:25.000 This is why when people tend to think about threats foreign, they immediately resonate to what people on the right tend to say.
00:10:33.000 Chelsea Clinton continued along these lines.
00:10:35.000 She says Islamophobia is not an option.
00:10:37.000 I think though that we also have to recognize, particularly at this moment, that sexism is not an opinion.
00:10:45.000 Islamophobia is not an opinion.
00:10:48.000 Racism is not an opinion.
00:10:49.000 Homophobia is not an opinion.
00:10:51.000 Jingoism is not an opinion.
00:10:54.000 And so I think we, in our posture of listening, also have to get comfortable with standing up and speaking out.
00:11:02.000 Because I also agree, kind of, that for those of us that have been blessed, and by definition all of us on this kind of stage today have been blessed, there is a responsibility with kind of giving voice to the voiceless, but also using our own voices.
00:11:15.000 Okay, this is insanity.
00:11:16.000 I just want to show you.
00:11:17.000 This is footage from the explosion last night in Manchester.
00:11:19.000 Here's what it looked like in Manchester last night.
00:11:21.000 What are we looking at?
00:11:22.000 Is this the lobby?
00:11:25.000 Yeah, so that's actually in the station, so as we were coming out of the arena just before Ariana finished her long song to try and beat The Rush, we come out a few minutes early.
00:11:36.000 We'd come just out of where the box office is situated in the arena, and then you go into the train station.
00:11:44.000 Get to the top of the steps we heard the biggest explosion and it was literally about 20 meters from where we were stood.
00:11:52.000 Everyone started panicking.
00:11:54.000 We initially thought it was a terrorist attack because that's just what you think because of what's going on.
00:12:00.000 We was actually in the building when one went off and then as we left, that's when the second explosion must have taken place.
00:12:09.000 So once we'd already left the building and we just ran to the car, like didn't stop running.
00:12:15.000 There was lots of parents stood there and I said, look at them all waiting for the kids because I'd never seen it like that before, like so many people.
00:12:22.000 So obviously they was waiting for the children to come out.
00:12:25.000 So they were the people.
00:12:27.000 Well, they was the people because
00:12:30.000 20 seconds later from us walking to the steps, that's when it went off.
00:12:35.000 A minute before I took that video off.
00:12:36.000 Enough to make you cry.
00:12:37.000 So it's the parents...
00:12:39.000 Waiting for their kids to come out of the concert as parents do at things like this.
00:12:44.000 Terrific.
00:12:44.000 It's just terrific.
00:12:45.000 And we're hearing Islamophobia is not an opinion.
00:12:48.000 Jingleism is not an opinion.
00:12:49.000 So basically what I'm hearing from Chelsea Clinton in these two clips, and obviously they were done right before the terrorist attack, but it doesn't change the underlying idea in any way because we've had terrorist attacks before and we'll have them again.
00:12:59.000 When Chelsea Clinton says all of these things are interconnected, climate change and child marriage, and then she says, but you know what we really have to crack down on is Islamophobia.
00:13:09.000 And jingoism.
00:13:11.000 When I watch the footage of young girls being blown up in Manchester, I have a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
00:13:18.000 I have a one-year-old son.
00:13:20.000 The idea that anyone would target them in a terrorist attack makes me so enraged.
00:13:24.000 I want a bullet through the brain of these Islamic terrorists
00:13:29.000 Now, forever.
00:13:30.000 These people should be tortured in hell.
00:13:32.000 They should never stop burning.
00:13:34.000 In Judaism, we're not big on everlasting hell.
00:13:36.000 Whatever we believe about everlasting hell, I hope it applies to the fullest extent to the people who do these sorts of things.
00:13:43.000 And I'm not interested in your explanations about interconnectedness of technological innovation and Islamic terrorism.
00:13:49.000 I'm not interested in your justifications for Islamic terrorism.
00:13:52.000 I'm not interested in why you think that my expression
00:13:56.000 about terrorism.
00:13:57.000 My opinions of radical Islam should be forbidden, but we should worry about interconnectedness and justification when it comes to the people who blow themselves up.
00:14:05.000 I'm not blowing myself up.
00:14:06.000 I'm trying to stump in favor of killing the people who are going to blow us up.
00:14:11.000 But according to Hillary Clinton's daughter, according to Chelsea, the big problem here is that Islamophobia and jingoism are going to rise.
00:14:19.000 They're not even opinions.
00:14:20.000 We should restrict those opinions.
00:14:21.000 In fact, there's a story today that there's a woman in Britain who is now being basically prosecuted or investigated by the authorities in Britain because she had the temerity to point out that there's a connection to Islam here, that there's a connection to Islamic terrorism, which of course there is.
00:14:39.000 This is why no one takes the left seriously when it comes to terrorism.
00:14:42.000 Now, with all of that said, the right's going to have to do better in providing actual solutions to terrorism.
00:14:47.000 Now, some of the solutions that have been proposed, some of the things like President Trump's Muslim ban, which he proposed a while back, you know, that's, I still think, I don't know if that's going to be effective because I'm not sure how you screen that, but the idea of restricting immigration from Islamic countries without being able to vet people, absolutely 100% correct.
00:15:04.000 The idea that we're going to have to take a militant stance on ISIS and wipe them off the face of the earth?
00:15:07.000 And we can't wait around and let the Saudis do it because they're not going to?
00:15:10.000 We can't wait around and let the Turks do it because they're not going to?
00:15:12.000 We can't wait around for Iran to do it because they're not going to?
00:15:15.000 If you want these sorts of things to stop, there's going to have to be some changes in policy and we're going to talk about that in just a second.
00:15:20.000 There's also going to have to be a change
00:15:22.000 In the mindset of a lot of people on all sides of the political aisle with regard to the civilizational battle that we face.
00:15:29.000 And Trump was wrong yesterday when he said it's not a clash of civilizations.
00:15:32.000 It certainly is a clash of civilizations.
00:15:33.000 That doesn't mean everyone in the Muslim world is on the side of the Islamic terrorist civilization.
00:15:38.000 But there is a civilization that is rife with Islamic terrorism and that the West pretends doesn't exist.
00:15:43.000 But we'll talk about that in just a second.
00:15:44.000 First, I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at MVMT.
00:15:48.000 So, do you see this super cool watch?
00:15:52.000 This super cool watch could be yours, but you have to shop at MVMT.
00:15:56.000 I have two other watches, but this is really the only one that I wear, and that's because it is sleek, and it is cool, and it is comfortable, and it is minimalist.
00:16:02.000 That's sort of what their designs are famous for over at MVMT, this sort of minimalist design.
00:16:07.000 I want to show it to you because it's really cool.
00:16:08.000 It looks like it's a thousand dollar watch, but this thing costs well under 200 bucks.
00:16:12.000 That's because MVMT's goal is to charge revolutionary prices for the nicest watches.
00:16:16.000 The company was started by two broke college kids who wanted to wear expensive watches, but they couldn't afford them.
00:16:21.000 So instead, they went and borrowed some money and started their own watch company.
00:16:25.000 Movement watches, MVMT watches, start at just $95.
00:16:28.000 At a department store, a watch like this is going to cost you hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
00:16:31.000 If you're looking at other watches, it'll cost $400 or $500, $95 over at MVMT.
00:16:35.000 And they can do that because they're selling online.
00:16:37.000 So they cut out the middleman, there goes that giant markup.
00:16:40.000 It's classic design, quality construction, styled minimalism, over 1 million watches sold in over 160 countries.
00:16:46.000 Right now, you get 15% off today with free shipping and free returns if you don't like it by going to MVMT.com slash Shapiro.
00:16:54.000 MVMT.com slash Shapiro.
00:16:56.000 You get 15% off today, so you're getting an inexpensive watch.
00:17:00.000 You can get it even more inexpensively by going to MVMT.com slash Shapiro.
00:17:04.000 Also use that slash Shapiro so they know we sent you.
00:17:06.000 You get free shipping and free returns, 15% off a watch that is as cool as this one.
00:17:10.000 And they really do have very cool stuff.
00:17:12.000 They have a wide variety for men and women.
00:17:14.000 Really cool stuff.
00:17:15.000 Okay, so, with all of this said about how the right is better than the left on Islamic terrorism, even the right is not willing to acknowledge, in many cases, a basic fact, and that is the war by radical Islamic civilization against the West
00:17:29.000 Is broader than we like to pretend it is.
00:17:30.000 This is what I was complaining about as far as President Trump's speech yesterday in Saudi Arabia.
00:17:34.000 He talked about Islamic extremism and then he sort of excused the Saudis and he excused the United Arab Emirates.
00:17:40.000 And today, he was making the statement that he made about how terrorists are evil losers.
00:17:45.000 He made that while standing next to Mahmoud Abbas, the dictator of the Palestinian Authority.
00:17:49.000 Mahmoud Abbas is a terrorist.
00:17:50.000 Mahmoud Abbas is a guy who financed the 1972 Munich Olympic terror attacks, the Munich massacre.
00:17:56.000 Mahmoud Abbas is a fellow who in 2015, like a year and a half ago, said that every drop of blood spilled in Jerusalem by a Palestinian is worthwhile and they are martyrs to Allah.
00:18:06.000 Okay?
00:18:07.000 Trump was standing next to that guy yesterday.
00:18:09.000 He was standing next to him when he said all of this.
00:18:12.000 And so when Trump says, we'll clip three, that Israel and its Arab neighbors, they have a common interest in stopping terrorism, no, that's really not super true.
00:18:21.000 Many Muslim nations have already taken steps to begin following through on this commitment.
00:18:26.000 There is a growing realization among your Arab neighbors that they have common cause with you and the threat posed by Iran.
00:18:35.000 And it is indeed a threat.
00:18:36.000 There's no question about that.
00:18:39.000 I thank both you and Prime Minister Netanyahu for your commitment to achieving peace between
00:18:48.000 The Israelis and the Palestinians.
00:18:51.000 I also look forward to discussing the peace process with Palestinian President Abbas.
00:18:59.000 Okay, now this is ridiculous.
00:19:00.000 Abbas is not going to take part in the peace process because the minute he signs a deal, his own people kill him.
00:19:04.000 He is currently in a unity government with the terrorist group Hamas.
00:19:07.000 He is currently in a unity government with the terrorist group Islamic Jihad.
00:19:10.000 Now, the West likes to pretend.
00:19:12.000 They like to pretend that terrorism against Israel... Yesterday, while Trump was in Jerusalem, there was an attempted terror attack in Jerusalem.
00:19:18.000 The left and the right, across the world, there's this common attempt.
00:19:23.000 Not all of the right, but some of the right.
00:19:25.000 There's this attempt to carve off Israel from the battle against terrorism, as though when a Palestinian blows up a bunch of children in a pizzeria, or when a Palestinian shoots a kid in a car, that's somehow different in kind from the same thing happening in the UK or France or Germany.
00:19:41.000 That's just silly.
00:19:43.000 There are a lot of people who like to say, well, it's a territorial conflict, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
00:19:47.000 It's a territorial thing.
00:19:48.000 No, it isn't.
00:19:49.000 Because if Israel were to give up every slice of territory, all of it, the battle wouldn't end.
00:19:54.000 If Israel were to give up Jerusalem to the Palestinians, all of it, you know what would happen?
00:19:58.000 The Palestinians would immediately seek to kill as many Jews as possible using that territory as a launching point.
00:20:03.000 We know that because that's exactly what they did in 1967 and in 1973.
00:20:08.000 So the idea that this is a territorial conflict, here's the rule about territorial conflicts.
00:20:13.000 If it were a territorial conflict, if you have a territorial conflict, it can be solved by a territorial solution.
00:20:18.000 If a territorial conflict cannot be solved by a territorial solution, it's not actually a territorial conflict, it's a religious conflict.
00:20:25.000 And yet the right and the left apparently have this common stake in pretending that terror against Jews in Israel is somehow markedly different than terror against British people at a concert in the UK.
00:20:37.000 And that is just not true.
00:20:38.000 That's why you'll see Chris Matthews over on MSNBC basically suggesting that Israel deserves terrorism even though the rest of the West doesn't.
00:20:45.000 But when you go over there to the Palestinian territories, sure there are terrorists, and they should be punished by the people over there.
00:20:51.000 That's where I think they've got to act.
00:20:52.000 But then you have these Palestinian business guys, regular guys like us, just regular people.
00:20:56.000 They're peaceful.
00:20:58.000 They are being bothered every day of their life to try to do business.
00:21:00.000 They have to sit there with some Israeli soldier putting his gun at them for three or four hours at every checkpoint.
00:21:05.000 They're humiliating those people.
00:21:06.000 And then when's that call they're going to blow, Jim?
00:21:10.000 So the idea is that if you were forced, as a business person, to go through the rigors of a check by TSA because there are terrorists getting on the flight, that you're going to go and commit a terrorist attack.
00:21:20.000 The idea that Israel is somehow at fault here, again, I know that the left, it's a little bit easier from the left, because the left also blames the west for Islamic terrorism in the west.
00:21:27.000 But the idea, overall, that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is somehow different, and that there is common cause between Israel and the Palestinians in fighting terror, is just absolute nonsense.
00:21:39.000 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had this to say this morning regarding the Manchester attack.
00:21:43.000 It is 100% true, even though people don't want to hear it.
00:21:47.000 I want to thank you especially today for your... And as you said this morning, Mr. President, funding and rewarding terrorism must end.
00:21:58.000 Standing next to you, President Abbas condemned the horrific attack in Manchester.
00:22:03.000 Well, I hope this heralds a real change.
00:22:06.000 Because if the attacker had been Palestinian, and the victims had been Israeli children,
00:22:12.000 The Suicide Bombers family would have received a stipend from the Palestinian Authority.
00:22:17.000 That's Palestinian law.
00:22:19.000 That law must be changed.
00:22:42.000 That is a mistake.
00:22:43.000 And by ignoring that mistake, all you end up doing is promulgating the terrorism.
00:22:47.000 By pretending away Abbas and Saudi Arabia that they're all allies with us against things like what happened in Manchester, all you end up doing is ignoring one of the sources of the real problem.
00:22:56.000 And long-term, listen, we don't have the power to topple every bad regime.
00:23:00.000 We don't have the ability or the willingness to throw everybody out of power who we don't like, nor should we, because the fact is that sometimes what replaces them is worse.
00:23:07.000 But if we don't keep in mind who our enemies are, we're not going to take cautious policies, we're going to make foolish mistakes like signing money over to bad guys, and then we're shocked when that comes back to bite us in the ass, whether it's on 9-11, or whether it's in Israel, or whether it's in Manchester.
00:23:20.000 Okay, well, I want to talk a little bit more about all of this.
00:23:23.000 I also want to talk about what's going on in the so-called Russia investigation.
