Summary

It turns out, the San Bernardino shooting was NOT due to climate change or pro-life opinions, or any of the other narratives that the left wanted to push. We'll go through every last rake the left stepped on yesterday as these shootings unfolded, and then we will get to things that I hate, aside from the left, that steps on every rake when there is a shooting attack by Islamic terrorists. Ben Shapiro: This is a Thursday and we are approaching the weekend, and we have tons to talk about regarding the San Bernadino shooting, which it turns out was not due to Climate Change or Pro-Life Opinions or any other narratives the left tried to push yesterday. It was a random attack by crazed, crazed pro-lifers, and it has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood or climate change, and the next thing they tried to do is try to link it to the pro-Life movement. And it fell flat on its face. The left is mourning its dead narratives today, and mourning the people they don't care so much about. What are they mourning today? The victims of this shooting are not climate change deniers, it's crazed Pro-LIFE deniers. This is not what they need to be mourning today. Today's guest is Marcos Melitzus, who runs The Daily Kos and is a man who doesn't care about climate change and doesn't even care about the climate change. He's just wants to kill people who don't agree with him. He's not here for that climate change is not a problem, he's here to kill other people's babies. Ben, not to make him feel like he's a hypocrite, is here to make his point of view, and he doesn't give a damn about it. If you don't like it, then you should listen to this guy's point of views on it, not yours, not mine. You're not going to get any more information about it, so you're not listening to it, are you listening to the guy who doesn t care about it? . Thanks for listening, right? -Ben Shapiro - The Ben Shapiro Show is a podcast that's not a podcast. - Ben Shapiro's show is a show that does not care about anything that doesn't have a lot of facts, so he's going to be posting it on the internet, so why not listen to it?

00:00:00.000 So here we are.
00:00:00.000 It is a Thursday, and we are approaching the weekend, and we have tons to talk about regarding the San Bernardino shooting, which it turns out was not due to climate change or pro-life opinions or any of the other narratives that the left wanted to push.
00:00:13.000 We'll go through every last rake that the left stepped on yesterday as these shootings unfolded, and then we will get to things that I hate, aside from the left, that steps on every rake when there is a shooting attack by Islamic terrorists.
00:00:26.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:27.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:28.000 I tend to demonize people who don't care about your feelings.
00:00:34.000 Okay, so yesterday, as this shooting unfolded in San Bernardino, and we're about 45 minutes away from San Bernardino, maybe an hour away from San Bernardino, and everybody in the office was kind of watching as this unfolded, and there were two groups of people.
00:00:46.000 There are the groups of people who are typically on the political right, who are saying, okay, let's wait to find out all the facts before we jump to any conclusions.
00:00:53.000 We don't know how they got the guns.
00:00:55.000 We don't know who the people are.
00:00:56.000 We don't know why this happened.
00:00:57.000 And then there were the folks on the left.
00:00:59.000 Who legitimately did not wait for five seconds in order to push their agenda.
00:01:05.000 As this whole thing was unfolding, there are a bunch of narratives that unfolded in real time, and I think it's important to trace every narrative that the left pushed out there, because it's as though this shooting was specifically designed to destroy every leftist narrative that there is.
00:01:20.000 I mean, the left is mourning its dead narratives today.
00:01:25.000 The people they don't care so much about.
00:01:26.000 The narratives they are very, very, very upset about.
00:01:28.000 It started yesterday with the networks attempting, as the shooting unfolded,
00:01:34.000 I think so.
00:01:51.000 Okay, for people who don't understand, L.A., okay, the way that L.A.
00:01:54.000 works, a mile and a half is a really long way in L.A.
00:01:56.000 It's like a super long way, because nobody walks anywhere in L.A.
00:01:59.000 In San Bernardino, the same is true.
00:02:01.000 And to even travel in a car a mile and a half in Los Angeles takes you a very long time, because traffic is so bad.
00:02:06.000 So they're standing a mile and a half away from the scene of the crime, and they're telling you that, oh, by the way, it's not, we thought it was gonna be Planned Parenthood, that this was just these crazy pro-lifers, and here they are, doing the routine, trying to link it to the pro-life movement again.
00:02:19.000 Here's CNN.
00:02:21.000 Just one more minor detail, something that people might be concerned about following what happened in Colorado just a few days ago.
00:02:26.000 We've received word that this shooting was not at a Planned Parenthood, so that's at least some perspective on where the shooting may be taking place, obviously with what happened in Colorado.
00:02:35.000 Is there a Planned Parenthood nearby?
00:02:37.000 That may be the case.
00:02:37.000 We just learned that from CNN's Joseph Neto.
00:02:40.000 He called and made contact with the office.
00:02:42.000 Obviously there was some concern that there might be one.
00:02:44.000 Oh, it's just around the corner.
00:02:44.000 I was just handed a piece of information.
00:02:46.000 Apparently there's a Planned Parenthood in San Bernardino, just around the corner from the location.
00:02:50.000 So there you have it.
00:02:51.000 So that's not what's being targeted.
00:02:54.000 There you have it.
00:02:54.000 That's not what's being targeted, but it's just around the corner.
00:02:56.000 You know, there's a car crash 22 miles away from a Planned Parenthood in Poughkeepsie.
00:03:01.000 Well, that means that it had to do something with Planned Parenthood.
00:03:03.000 Sam Stein over at the Huffington Post, he tweeted out, Planned Parenthood is about 1.3 miles from site of shooting.
00:03:09.000 CNN, however, is reporting the shooting didn't take place there.
00:03:13.000 1.3 miles, folks.
00:03:14.000 Okay, there's a Chuck E. Cheese 1.5 miles.
00:03:16.000 I looked it up.
00:03:16.000 There is a Chuck E. Cheese that is 1.5 miles away from the site of this shooting attack at the Inland Regional Center.
00:03:23.000 And I didn't see any CNN trucks or MSNBC commentators or Huffington Post reporters bitching about it.
00:03:30.000 So they tried to link it.
00:03:32.000 That immediately fell flat.
00:03:33.000 So that was the first narrative fail on the part of the left.
00:03:36.000 That it has something to do with these crazed pro-lifers.
00:03:38.000 It's now a movement!
00:03:38.000 They're out to kill- Oh, it has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood.
00:03:42.000 Oopsie daisies.
00:03:43.000 So the next thing that they tried to do is they tried to push the idea that it was random people, right?
00:03:48.000 That it was just, it was some random people and it was random right-wingers.
00:03:51.000 So Marcos Melitzus, who is just scum of the earth.
00:03:54.000 Marcos is, he runs Daily Kos and Marcos is a moral cow pie.
00:04:00.000 He is just turd.
00:04:01.000 And Marcos Melitzus tweeted out, in the middle of all of this, he tweeted out, you know, people in the GOP and the right should be ashamed because how can you say that you're for the safety of Americans when one of yours is doing this?
00:04:11.000 To which people rightly asked, do you have any information that would suggest that one of ours is doing this?
00:04:15.000 And he had no answer to that, but he said it anyway.
00:04:18.000 And there are people all over the left who are saying this.
00:04:20.000 This has to be some crazed right-winger based on no evidence whatsoever.
00:04:24.000 And it demonstrates once again that for the left, the enemies that they wish they had are not the actual enemies Americans have.
00:04:30.000 Crazed right-wingers are not out there shooting places up as a general rule.
00:04:33.000 If they were, there'd be a lot more of them because there are lots of right-wingers in this country.
00:04:37.000 As a percentage.
00:04:38.000 A lot more right-wingers than Muslims in the United States.
00:04:40.000 But they tried to pin it on the so-called crazed right-wing.
00:04:44.000 This is what they were trying to push.
00:04:46.000 So, then that failed.
00:04:48.000 That turned out not to be true.
00:04:49.000 So then they had to move on to their next narrative.
00:04:51.000 And their next narrative was, you guessed it, gun control.
00:04:55.000 It was all about the gun control.
00:04:56.000 President Obama blamed the lack of gun control again.
00:05:00.000 Here's President Obama talking about, as the shooting is happening, he's asked by a reporter at CBS about what he thinks is going on, and he drops his famous phrase, it's all about the gun control, we need more gun control, we need more gun control.
00:05:12.000 Here's Barack Obama on gun control.
00:05:15.000 We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world.
00:05:23.000 And there are some steps we could take, not to eliminate every one of these mass shootings, but to improve the odds that they don't happen as frequently.
00:05:33.000 There are steps that we can take.
00:05:34.000 Now, he still doesn't know, remember, at this point when he's speaking.
00:05:36.000 He doesn't know who did it.
00:05:38.000 He doesn't know where they got the guns.
00:05:40.000 There is one thing that he knows.
00:05:41.000 Right?
00:05:41.000 There is one thing that he knows.
00:05:42.000 This happened in California.
00:05:44.000 Now, those of us who live in California understand that the gun laws here are actually pretty tough.
00:05:49.000 Okay, California has actually the most restrictive gun regime in the United States.
00:05:53.000 The Brady Center gives California an A for its gun laws.
00:05:57.000 The Brady Center is, of course, a gun control propaganda outlet.
00:05:59.000 And they are very much in favor of all of the restrictions that we have universal background checks, we have an assault weapons ban, you have to have a waiting period for handguns, you know, all of this is, all of these things.
00:06:11.000 You have to do.
00:06:12.000 But President Obama, anyway, tried to suggest that there were common-sense gun safety reforms, and then he said that anybody on the no-fly list should be barred from purchasing firearms.
00:06:21.000 Anybody on the no-fly list.
00:06:22.000 There's only one problem.
00:06:25.000 People are put on the no-fly list by mistake.
00:06:27.000 That's not due process of law.
00:06:29.000 There are literally hundreds of thousands of people on the no-fly list.
00:06:32.000 So if they don't want you to have a gun, they just stick you on the no-fly list, and then all of a sudden you can't get a gun.
00:06:36.000 So where I come from, in order for you to be deprived of a constitutional right, there first has to be some sort of due process that attaches, but not for Barack Obama.
00:06:46.000 And by the way, France has pretty significant gun laws.
00:06:48.000 I mean, nobody owns a gun in France.
00:06:50.000 And they killed 130 people over in France two weeks ago.
00:06:53.000 So they tried to blame gun control.
00:06:54.000 Hillary Clinton did the same thing.
00:06:56.000 Hillary Clinton tweeted this out.
00:06:57.000 Here's what Hillary Clinton's tweet looked like.
00:07:01.000 She tweeted, quote, And one of the things I find so deeply obnoxious about Hillary Clinton and people who think like her is the unearned moral superiority that is just
00:07:17.000 Rife in this tweet.
00:07:18.000 I mean, it's just, it underscores this entire tweet.
00:07:21.000 I refuse to accept this as, who's accepting this as normal?
00:07:24.000 Is anyone accepting this as normal?
00:07:25.000 Is there anyone in the United States who is not pro-terrorist, who is accepting this as normal?
00:07:29.000 Anyone?
00:07:30.000 But she personally, not we refuse to accept this as normal, or America should choose to accept this as normal.
00:07:35.000 No, first of all, no one is refusing to accept this as, no one is, what is she talking, no one accepts this as normal.
00:07:42.000 What is she talking about?
00:07:43.000 The idea is, of course, that she, in all of her moral glory and wisdom, refuses to accept this as normal.
00:07:50.000 And you don't.
00:07:51.000 If you oppose her agenda, it's because you want this to happen.
00:07:54.000 It's because you're okay with this happening.
00:07:56.000 This is the same argument Piers Morgan made to me when I smacked him down.
00:07:59.000 The idea that if you don't agree with him, then it's because you don't care about dead people.
00:08:03.000 Which is just obnoxious and immoral.
00:08:05.000 It's an immoral argument, it's a nasty argument, but it's something Hillary Clinton pushes because it makes all of her followers feel good about themselves.
00:08:11.000 They don't actually have to do anything, but they feel really special now because they've stood up to those evil people who accept the normality of mass shootings.
00:08:19.000 Just disgusting.
00:08:20.000 Bernie Sanders did the same thing.
00:08:21.000 Bernie Sanders, the other Democratic candidate who's not going to win, the socialist loon bag from Vermont, he tweeted this out with regard to the attacks yesterday.
00:08:32.000 He tweeted, First of all, what you'll notice is that the left routinely redefines what mass shootings constitute.
00:08:43.000 Whenever you see people say there's a mass shooting every single day, what they mean is more than one person shot in a given confrontation.
00:08:50.000 If you actually take the number of shootings where it's three or more people, that number drops precipitously.
00:08:54.000 But it has to stop.
00:08:55.000 It just has to stop, right?
00:08:57.000 And this is what Bernie Sanders
00:09:00.000 He's been pushing.
00:09:00.000 And Bernie Sanders, by the way, I think it's kind of just telling to put up what he tweeted in the aftermath of the Planned Parenthood attack.
00:09:07.000 Here's what he did in the aftermath of the Planned Parenthood attack, Bernie Sanders.
00:09:10.000 He tweeted, quote, So in other words, when there's a supposedly pro-life person who is actually a nutjob who shoots up
00:09:22.000 Well, all of this, this gun control narrative, it started to fall apart pretty quickly because it turns out that the guns were actually obtained legally.
00:09:44.000 Two of the guns were obtained legally, and there is no evidence that anything was obtained illegally, except for all of the other material they had with them.
00:09:51.000 Because here's what we now know.
00:09:53.000 These people have been planning this for weeks.
00:09:54.000 They had pipe bombs, 12 pipe bombs in their apartment.
00:09:58.000 There was a bomb-making factory, according to Fox News.
00:10:01.000 They put booby traps in their car.
00:10:02.000 They put booby traps in their house.
00:10:04.000 They had dropped their daughter off.
00:10:05.000 This is a married couple.
00:10:07.000 They dropped their Muslim married couple.
00:10:08.000 They dropped their daughter off with grandma to take care of her for the day and presumably for the rest of her life because they were going to die that day.
00:10:16.000 And those are things that you can't control with gun control.
00:10:20.000 This brings up the left's major narrative of the day yesterday, and this was the major narrative that dominated most of the day yesterday.
00:10:26.000 So we've already knocked down three, right?
00:10:28.000 We've knocked down that it was pro-life people, we've knocked down that it was random people, and we've knocked down that gun control was the big issue here, because obviously California has massive gun control.
00:10:37.000 So what did they move on to next?
00:10:39.000 What they moved on to next was something so vile and really unprecedented that it speaks to
00:10:45.000 who the left are as human beings.
00:10:48.000 And that is, they started going after anyone who prays.
00:10:52.000 Right?
00:10:52.000 If you tweeted out prayers for the people in San Bernardino, the left decided that you were evil.
00:10:58.000 You were a bad person if you did that.
00:10:59.000 So Chris Murphy, who is an actual sitting senator, a Democrat senator from Connecticut, this is what he tweeted out in the aftermath of the attacks.
00:11:08.000 He tweeted, quote,
00:11:09.000 Your thoughts should be about steps to take to stop his carnage.
00:11:13.000 Your prayers should be for forgiveness if you do nothing again.
00:11:16.000 So you shouldn't say thoughts and prayers unless you agree with his gun control agenda because thoughts and prayers are meaningless and they do nothing.
00:11:24.000 It's Scott Bixby over at the Huffington Post and Scott Bixby tweeted out a whole list
00:11:30.000 Of all the Republicans tweeting out their thoughts and prayers to the people who are in San Bernardino.
00:11:34.000 And then Scott Bixby of Huffington Post.
00:11:36.000 Do we have this one, Mathis?
00:11:38.000 He tweeted out that the official GOP position was praying, and God bless, and praying, and thoughts and prayers, and praying, and thoughts and prayers.
00:11:47.000 Right?
00:11:47.000 That's what they're all saying.
00:11:49.000 That's Scott Bixby there.
00:11:50.000 And then in the middle you see Matthew Iglesias.
00:11:52.000 Matthew Iglesias is the mentally challenged person from Vox.com.
00:11:57.000 And he tweets out,
00:12:04.000 Or he's being sarcastic.
00:12:05.000 You shouldn't offer thoughts and prayers.
00:12:07.000 You need to take action, like banning all guns.
00:12:09.000 And then you have Marcos Melitzus, the aforementioned moral cow pie, and he writes, Now it's worth mentioning, this morning, President Obama did a press conference, and at that press conference, President Obama specifically offered his thoughts and prayers.
00:12:28.000 Nobody on the left care.
00:12:30.000 Right?
00:12:30.000 Nobody said anything.
00:12:31.000 Hillary Clinton, after Paris, offered her thoughts and prayers.
00:12:34.000 Nobody said anything.
00:12:35.000 The reason that they are saying that they don't like the thoughts and prayers language is twofold.
00:12:39.000 One is that anybody on the right who has thoughts and prayers... First of all, they think everybody on the right is religious.
00:12:44.000 So they just assume that if you have thoughts and prayers, it's because you're a religious person.
00:12:48.000 And if you're a religious person, then you're pro-gun, and you oppose their agenda.
00:12:52.000 And thus, correlation being causation, because you pray, you therefore don't agree with their gun control agenda.
00:12:57.000 So they're connecting those two things in an idiotic way.
00:13:01.000 Because if you're a leftist and you offer thoughts and prayers, again, they have nothing to say about it.
00:13:04.000 Then they're fine with thoughts and prayers, as long as you're also pushing gun control.
00:13:08.000 By the way, the Huffington Post ran with this headline, another mass shooting, another deluge of tweeted prayers.
00:13:14.000 And then, and what they said, these are reporters, okay?
00:13:17.000 Not opinion writers.
00:13:19.000 Reporters.
00:13:19.000 Sam Stein and Arthur Delaney.
00:13:21.000 Public officials are the people society trusts to solve society's ills.
00:13:25.000 First of all, I don't trust public officials to solve society's ills.
00:13:29.000 I don't.
00:13:29.000 I trust individuals to solve society's ills, because I think individuals are responsible for themselves.
00:13:34.000 Which is going to bring me to my other point about prayer in a second.
00:13:36.000 See, like, say, gun violence.
00:13:37.000 But every time multiple people have been gunned down in a mass shooting,
00:13:41.000 All these officials can seemingly do is rush to offer their useless thoughts and prayers.
00:13:46.000 Thoughts and prayers are useless.
00:13:48.000 And the epitome of this entire mindset was the failing New York Daily News, which is losing readers like wildfire.
00:13:56.000 And here is the cover of the New York Daily News today.
00:14:00.000 For people who can't see, the cover is and shows a tweet from Rand Paul with thoughts and prayers.
00:14:05.000 And Paul Ryan, thoughts and prayers.
00:14:06.000 And Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, thoughts and prayers.
00:14:08.000 And then it says, it's an entirely black front page.
00:14:12.000 And then in giant white letters it says, God isn't fixing this.
00:14:16.000 And then beneath that it says, as latest batch of innocent Americans are left lying in pools of blood, cowards who could truly end a gun scourge continue to hide behind meaningless platitudes.
00:14:26.000 Okay, first of all, nobody can end this.
00:14:29.000 Okay?
00:14:30.000 Human beings, government, does not have the power to end every bad thing.
00:14:35.000 And this is really the point.
00:14:37.000 Okay?
00:14:37.000 They misunderstand the role of... They don't understand God and they don't understand government, is really what it comes down to for the left.
00:14:42.000 The reason the left is truly upset with people praying is because if we pray to God, then we are not praying to government.
00:14:48.000 And they think we ought to be praying to government.
00:14:49.000 Government is God.
00:14:51.000 For the left, government is God.
00:14:53.000 This is why whenever there's a problem in life, government can solve it.
00:14:56.000 Right?
00:14:56.000 Government is just a place you go to fix things.
00:14:58.000 Government is a place that they're supposed to take care of you.
00:15:01.000 This is why you're not supposed to own guns, folks.
00:15:03.000 Because, after all, the government has guns.
00:15:06.000 And sure, you know that they're not omnipotent, and they're not omniscient, and that if a mass shooter descends in the middle of a regional center and decides to kill people, there will be a four-minute response time, which there was in San Bernardino, as people were getting shot.
00:15:18.000 That they'll only show up after 75-plus rounds have been fired into the bodies of human beings?
00:15:23.000 You know that.
00:15:23.000 But according to people on the left, if we just gave government more power, then all this could be stopped.
00:15:29.000 Right?
00:15:29.000 Government is God.
00:15:30.000 Government can fix anything.
00:15:31.000 And government is, more than that, a jealous God.
00:15:34.000 Just like the Ten Commandments, but government.
00:15:36.000 Government is a jealous God.
00:15:37.000 You shall have no gods before it.
00:15:39.000 So if you worship God, and that means that you are individually responsible, your life is between you and God, then that is a denial of the idea that the real God, government, can solve all of your problems.
00:15:49.000 And so you have blasphemed, you're an idolater, and you must be called out as a blasphemer and an idolater.
00:15:55.000 And then we get to it, and it's because this childish view of government extends to why these people are atheists, truly.
00:16:01.000 Folks on the left, they're not all atheists, they're people who are supposedly religious on the left, although they're not biblically religious on the left, by any stretch of the imagination.
00:16:08.000 Okay, you believe in gods, you believe in a god that's...
00:16:11.000 involved in daily universe, maybe.
00:16:15.000 Do you agree with the biblical God?
00:16:16.000 No, because the Bible is not a left-wing document.
00:16:18.000 But for a lot of these folks, leftism is based on a philosophy of atheism because leftism assumes, leftism is all about the material world.
00:16:27.000 Leftism says all human unhappiness is caused by material inequality.
00:16:31.000 It's not caused by you doing bad stuff, or you making bad choices, or you violating your covenant with God.
00:16:38.000 All bad things in the universe are caused by you not having enough stuff, and if we just redistribute all the stuff, then everything is good.
00:16:44.000 There's no such thing as the spiritual plane for the left, which is why they're constantly saying that terrorism is caused by poverty, as opposed to a moral shortcoming.
00:16:52.000 It's not caused by a moral shortcoming, it's caused by poverty, because there's no such thing as moral, there's no such thing as spiritual.
00:16:57.000 Leftism is based on this atheistic notion of the universe.
00:17:00.000 It's why Karl Marx suggested that religion was the opium of the masses.
00:17:04.000 It kept us all blind to the realities of what actually rules things.
00:17:07.000 So, the left...
00:17:10.000 Views God in the same way that they view government.
00:17:12.000 And this is why they don't believe in God.
00:17:14.000 Right?
00:17:14.000 They view government as something where government will give you what you want.
00:17:17.000 But they see prayer as stupid.
00:17:18.000 Why is prayer stupid?
00:17:19.000 Because according to the left, what prayer actually is, prayer is sort of like a gumball machine.
00:17:25.000 Right?
00:17:25.000 God is a gumball machine.
00:17:27.000 And you're supposed to take your nickel, and that's your prayer, and you put it in the gumball machine, and after you twist the little handle, the gumball comes out, right?
00:17:34.000 You prayed to God for X, and God will give you X. This is how they think religious people think.
00:17:39.000 Because this is how they think of God, they think this is how we, the religious, think of God.
00:17:43.000 Now, there's not a single deeply religious person in the Judeo-Christian world who believes this, right?
00:17:48.000 All Judeo-Christian people know God says no, right?
00:17:51.000 Sometimes your agenda is not God's agenda.
00:17:54.000 Right?
00:17:54.000 The idea that you pray in order so that you can convince God of something is a pagan notion.
00:17:59.000 God is unchanging.
00:18:00.000 God doesn't decide on the spur of the moment, oh, well, you know, I wasn't going to give him this car, but now that he prayed for it, well, that changes everything.
00:18:06.000 That's not how God operates.
00:18:07.000 Only a child would think that that's how God operates.
00:18:11.000 Prayer is meant to bring you in consonance with your godly mission.
00:18:15.000 And pretty much all religious thinkers agree on this, from Augustine to C.S.
00:18:18.000 Lewis to Maimonides.
00:18:19.000 Pretty much everyone agrees.
00:18:20.000 What prayer is designed to do, it's designed to remind you that you are subject to God's dictates, and it's supposed to remind you that God's plan for you may not be your plan for you, but you pray that you can understand God's plan for you the best that you possibly can, and that you act in accordance with His will, and that if you do that, you'll lead a happier life.
00:18:36.000 That's what prayer is for.
00:18:38.000 In a nutshell, that's what prayer is for.
00:18:40.000 CS Lewis wrote, it's quite useless knocking at the door of heaven for earthly comfort.
00:18:44.000 It's not the sort of comfort they supply there.
00:18:46.000 And that's exactly right.
00:18:48.000 Right?
00:18:48.000 Maimonides says explicitly, prayer is designed for man to recognize the primacy of God and bring you into consonance with his mission for you.
00:18:54.000 Rabbi Jonathan Sacks says, prayer is the act of listening to God, listening to us.
00:18:59.000 Right?
00:18:59.000 That's what prayer is.
00:19:00.000 But prayer is certainly not this idea that, oh, if we just prayed harder, then there wouldn't be any more mass shootings.
00:19:05.000 No religious person believes that.
00:19:06.000 When people offer thoughts and prayers, no one thinks that's going to stop mass shootings.
00:19:11.000 Which is why religious people are gun owners.
00:19:13.000 If we thought that, then we would just live behind the shield of the word.
00:19:17.000 Right?
00:19:17.000 We don't.
00:19:18.000 We live behind the shield of the word and then the shotgun that's next to us on our table, right?
00:19:23.000 The fact is that religious people understand that we have
00:19:26.000 Activity that we are agents in this world, that we have agency, we have free will, we have primacy in our own lives, but the primacy in the universe is God's, and unless we recognize his primacy, we're gonna live unhappy lives.
00:19:36.000 That's what prayer is.
00:19:37.000 The left doesn't understand prayer, and so they rip on prayer, because what they think prayer should be is what they think government should be.
00:19:43.000 They think God and government should be the same.
00:19:45.000 Government gives us everything we want, and so if we really wanted to stop mass shootings, we should stop praying to God, and we should start praying to Obama.
00:19:52.000 We should start praying to President Obama.
00:19:54.000 And President Obama agrees.
00:19:55.000 Today, President Obama and his White House said that they are planning to expand executive action to expand background checks for gun sales.
00:20:03.000 California, again, already has universal background checks.
00:20:05.000 These two people passed a California background check when they bought their guns.
00:20:10.000 But President Obama, as the godlike initiator of all that is good and just in the universe, he is going to descend from on high, and he's going to fix everything, and he will keep you safe.
00:20:18.000 He'll give you your phone.
00:20:20.000 He'll give you your car.
00:20:21.000 Remember the Obamaphone lady?
00:20:22.000 This is how people think of government, and the same people think of God the same way.
00:20:26.000 And it's stupid in both cases.
00:20:27.000 That's not how God works, and it ain't how government works either.
00:20:30.000 When it says, biblically, put not your faith in man, that's because man is not capable of giving you everything that you want or keeping you safe.
00:20:38.000 And when it says put your faith in God, it doesn't mean that God is going to do everything that you want.
00:20:42.000 He may do some things that you want.
00:20:43.000 He may do other things that you definitely don't want.
00:20:45.000 But that has very little to do with what you ask him to do.
00:20:50.000 You don't have any—this is my own view of prayer.
00:20:54.000 God is not sitting there waiting for you to check a box before he gives you what he's going to give you anyway.
00:20:59.000 He knows what you're going to do anyway, right?
00:21:00.000 I mean, the idea that God is sitting there and that he's just responsive to your every whim and that he changes his mind based on your prayer is just—it's nonsense.
00:21:07.000 You can't change God because God is unchanging and God is perfect.
00:21:10.000 That is the notion of Judeo-Christian morality.
00:21:13.000 Okay, so, they tried that narrative, they tried the anti-prayer narrative, it fell flat, people thought this was ridiculous, because it is ridiculous, and it is insulting.
00:21:20.000 Next, so we've now gone through four narratives, right?
00:21:24.000 This all happened in the course of about five hours yesterday.
00:21:26.000 We've gone through four narratives, and all of them are just the left stepping on a rake, and boom, they handle hitting them right in the face, right?
00:21:32.000 And then they get up from their bleeding faces on the ground, and they proceed to immediately jump with both feet on the next rake.
00:21:39.000 So they started off, just to recap, with, it's right-wing terrorism.
00:21:42.000 Then it turned into, well, it's just unspecified white people terrorism.
00:21:46.000 Shep Smith was doing this yesterday.
00:21:47.000 It's three white men, three white men.
00:21:49.000 It wasn't three white men.
00:21:50.000 It wasn't even three men, right?
00:21:52.000 There's a gal, and they were Middle Eastern.
00:21:54.000 And then the second part was, that was the second part.
00:21:58.000 The third part was that we need gun control.
00:21:59.000 The fourth part was anybody who prays is stupid, especially if they're right-wing.
00:22:03.000 And then finally, we get to the fifth part, and that is, he must be crazy.
00:22:08.000 He must be a nut.
00:22:09.000 The people who did this, they must be totally crazy.
00:22:12.000 And to prove they're totally crazy, here is the brother-in-law of the guy, and he's at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which is, in fact, a terror-linked group.
00:22:20.000 I mean, they were an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case.
00:22:24.000 They have links to international terrorist groups.
00:22:27.000 They held a press conference immediately, like spontaneously, spur of the moment, which is kind of weird.
00:22:32.000 Unless they knew immediately that Islam had something to do with it, and radical Islam had something to do with it.
00:22:37.000 And here they are talking about, well, we really don't know what drove these people.
00:22:41.000 Probably, well, it couldn't be Islam.
00:22:43.000 It probably had something to do with, like, they were just crazy or something.
00:22:48.000 And I am in shock that something like this could happen.
00:22:54.000 That's all I have.
00:22:55.000 I hope everybody understands and everybody gets recovered much faster, whatever the victims are there.
00:23:02.000 Thanks.
00:23:05.000 When was the last time you spoke to Syed?
00:23:13.000 I spoke to about, like, a week ago with him.
00:23:17.000 Yeah.
00:23:18.000 Did he say he was a religious person?
00:23:21.000 I mean, you know, there's no comment.
00:23:24.000 I mean, investigation is going on.
00:23:26.000 You would know what it is.
00:23:27.000 I have no idea.
00:23:28.000 I have no idea.
00:23:29.000 Oh, he has no idea.
00:23:30.000 All right, we can pause it right there.
00:23:33.000 And then he goes on to say, well, he's probably just a nut.
00:23:35.000 He probably went crazy.
00:23:36.000 Just went totally crazy.
00:23:37.000 So crazy that he drafted his wife into this thing.
00:23:40.000 Now, here's the thing about terror cells.
00:23:42.000 Okay, when you have a lone nut, typically, they have to be alone.
00:23:46.000 Right?
00:23:46.000 In order for you to be a crazy person, it's very hard to draft your wife into this, and it's particularly, I mean, anybody who's married, it's hard to draft your wife into anything.
00:23:53.000 To draft your wife into, we're gonna go over to the local rec center, leave your six-month-old baby behind, by the way, and we're gonna go shoot a bunch of innocent people and then get shot.
00:24:01.000 Right?
00:24:01.000 That's not a normal, crazy person thing.
00:24:04.000 Okay?
00:24:06.000 There's crazy people, and then there are people who are rational but believe in evil ideology.
00:24:10.000 And what's amazing is everybody... I don't know how the... I saw tweets today.
00:24:13.000 How could this happen?
00:24:14.000 I just don't understand how this woman could leave her child behind.
00:24:17.000 How could she do this?
00:24:18.000 That doesn't make any sense.
00:24:20.000 Well...
00:24:21.000 I have two little words that solve all of this.
00:24:23.000 Radical Islam.
00:24:24.000 Because it turns out that all over the planet, women do this.
00:24:28.000 In the Palestinian areas, we've had multiple cases of women with children attacking Israeli soldiers with knives.
00:24:34.000 In Syria, this has been a problem.
00:24:35.000 In Iraq, this has been a problem.
00:24:37.000 In Afghanistan, this has been a problem.
00:24:40.000 In France, there was a female who was involved in the French attacks.
00:24:43.000 The idea that women are not involved, this is what's amazing.
00:24:45.000 Obama says, no, we should, don't worry about the refugees that are coming in.
00:24:48.000 Don't worry about them at all.
00:24:49.000 Here's what we know about these two people, okay?
00:24:51.000 We know that she came from Saudi Arabia.
00:24:53.000 We know that he was traveling to the Middle East extensively.
00:24:55.000 We know that he had contacts with outside terrorist influences.
00:24:58.000 All of this is breaking today.
00:25:00.000 But President Obama says, no, our screening procedures are so good with thousands and thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees that none of them will be terrorists.
00:25:08.000 None of them.
00:25:09.000 If you believe that, then you're an idiot.
00:25:12.000 I mean, honestly, you have to be a moron to believe that at this point.
00:25:15.000 But they have to keep pushing this narrative.
00:25:16.000 It's important to push the narrative that it can't be Islam, right?
00:25:19.000 Because finally, in the end, President Obama and the left basically have two speeches prepared for these shooting scenarios.
00:25:25.000 One is, if it's a white, right-wing guy,
00:25:28.000 Or just a white guy.
00:25:29.000 And the other is, if it's a Muslim.
00:25:31.000 If it's a white guy, then the narrative that comes out is, this is a reflection of right-wing ideology, this is a reflection of gun control needs.
00:25:38.000 And then, if it's a Muslim, then we get the Islamophobia speech.
00:25:41.000 And we're gonna get that today.
00:25:42.000 That's gonna be the big narrative today.
00:25:44.000 The real thing we have to learn from all of this is that people shouldn't have been so mean to this particular couple.
00:25:49.000 If they'd just been nicer.
00:25:50.000 This is already starting to emerge, by the way.
00:25:51.000 The LA Times has a piece today about his victimized childhood.
00:25:55.000 How it's so hard for Muslims in the United States.
00:25:57.000 Right?
00:25:57.000 If it's that hard for Muslims in the United States, there are like six to seven million of them here in the United States, why don't we see this all the time?
00:26:03.000 If it's that hard for Muslims in the United States.
00:26:06.000 And so they've been trying to push this.
00:26:08.000 One NBC journalist got on TV and suggested it was workplace violence.
00:26:11.000 President Obama also suggested it was workplace violence.
00:26:14.000 Workplace violence is the euphemism that we use when Muslims shoot people up for Islamic reasons in a place where people work.
00:26:19.000 Then it's called workplace violence.
00:26:21.000 Here is this NBC journalist making an ass of himself.
00:26:24.000 I think we will eventually get some indication on what that dispute was about.
00:26:29.000 This was a holiday party.
00:26:31.000 Maybe it was called a Christmas party.
00:26:33.000 I mean, there's so many potential triggers here.
00:26:35.000 It's really unclear.
00:26:36.000 But I think the most important thing is to circle back what Joe says.
00:26:39.000 It doesn't add up.
00:26:40.000 This clearly was a planned out event.
00:26:43.000 Okay, so first of all, it has now been disputed that there was a dispute at the party.
00:26:47.000 It looks more like this guy went to the party and was casing the joint.
00:26:50.000 He went there to see how many people were there and how many innocent people he could kill.
00:26:55.000 And this brings up
00:27:11.000 I think a very important point about all of this, and that is that this drive, this anti-Islamophobia, we can't pay any attention to the Islamic wizard behind the curtain, don't pay attention to any of that, all of this gets people killed.
00:27:26.000 It legitimately gets people killed.
00:27:27.000 It ends with dead people, and it happened in this particular case.
00:27:30.000 Here's what CBS LA reported today, quote,
00:27:33.000 A man who had been working in the area said he noticed a half dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks, but decided not to report anything, since he did not wish to racially profile those people.
00:27:44.000 So in other words, he saw a lot of suspicious activity with a bunch of Middle Eastern men, Muslims, and he did not call the cops because he didn't want to racially profile, and this is not the first time we've seen this.
00:27:53.000 In 2006, there were a bunch of Muslims who were planning an attack on Fort Dix, and they went into a circuit city, and they handed the clerk behind the counter a tape, and the tape was of them shooting guns into the air, idiot terrorists, them shooting guns into the air and talking about jihad.
00:28:06.000 This guy got uncomfortable,
00:28:07.000 He thought about calling the police, and then he said, but would it be racist if I call the police?
00:28:11.000 He actually said this.
00:28:12.000 One of his other employees had to say to him, no, you need to call the cops now.
00:28:16.000 Like, if you're suspicious, it'll end up being nothing.
00:28:18.000 But, understand, this is something the left pushes.
00:28:21.000 Political correctness gets people killed.
00:28:23.000 We made a big deal a few weeks back about Ahmed the Clock Boy.
00:28:26.000 You remember this?
00:28:27.000 Where a 14-year-old boy walks into school and he's got a device that looks exactly like a bomb because he had taken the back off a clock, stuck it in a pencil case, and then claimed that he had invented a clock, which is asinine.
00:28:37.000 He did not invent anything.
00:28:38.000 He no more invented the clock than me standing at noon on my sidewalk is inventing a sundial.
00:28:43.000 Okay?
00:28:43.000 He didn't invent a clock.
00:28:45.000 But he goes in there, and what happens?
00:28:47.000 Somebody says, this is suspicious.
00:28:48.000 See something, say something, right?
00:28:50.000 That's what we're told.
00:28:51.000 So they say something.
00:28:52.000 The police come in, they detain him, they release him.
00:28:55.000 President Obama calls the police racist, calls the town racist, and invites the kid to the White House.
00:28:59.000 What do you think a normal person is going to take away from that?
00:29:04.000 Might a normal person take away that it's very risky to use your head?
00:29:09.000 And it is called using your head, by the way.
00:29:11.000 It is more suspicious if a group of Middle Eastern men from random places suddenly start showing up in the middle of the night at the apartment next door than it would be if a group of white guys started showing up next door.
00:29:20.000 The white guys showing up next door might be there for a drug deal, but the Middle Eastern men probably are not.
00:29:25.000 Okay, even if you're suspicious of both groups, there's higher suspicion in different groups, right?
00:29:29.000 The fact is that there is such a thing as a risk profile, but we've now moved to the point where see something, say something has become see something, say something, unless it's the person you actually should probably be suspecting.
00:29:40.000 If it's that person, definitely don't say anything, because then you might be a racist.
00:29:45.000 All of this is going to lead to more dead people, and the left doesn't care, because this is their narrative.
00:29:50.000 Their narrative has to be pushed, no matter what.
00:29:53.000 The narrative must be prolonged, no matter what, and no matter how many dead bodies start to stack up.
00:29:58.000 Okay, it's time for Things That I Hate.
00:30:01.000 First, something that I really, really like.
00:30:03.000 I've been trying to balance it out, and as always, we thank Lindsay for the idea for the Things That I Hate segment.
00:30:09.000 And as always, I mention something that I like because I want to show that I don't hate everything in the universe.
00:30:14.000 So there's this meme that's been going around that I happen to think, personally, is the funniest thing that has ever happened.
00:30:20.000 It may be in the history of the world.
00:30:22.000 It was sent to me originally by my younger sister.
00:30:24.000 And for those who can't see, it's a picture of Demi Lovato.
00:30:27.000 Demi Lovato is a singer.
00:30:28.000 She used to be on what, Nickelodeon, right?
00:30:30.000 I think she's on Nickelodeon.
00:30:31.000 And it's a picture of her, and it is not a flattering picture of her.
00:30:35.000 It's a picture of her from some red carpet event, and her hair looks short.
00:30:39.000 I don't even know where her hair went here.
00:30:40.000 It's like she has a shaved head, and she looks like she is...
00:30:44.000 She just looks awful.
00:30:45.000 I mean, it's an awful picture of her.
00:30:47.000 And somebody snapped this photo of her and then put it up on Instagram with the caption, Demi's twin sister.
00:30:52.000 She was locked in a basement her whole life.
00:30:54.000 This picture was taken the first time she went outside.
00:30:57.000 Her name is Poot.
00:31:02.000 And I love when celebrities get mocked because they totally deserve it.
00:31:05.000 And Poot Lovato has now become an internet sensation.
00:31:09.000 There's a Wikipedia profile for Poot Lovato.
00:31:11.000 She's determined that she was her twin sister and Demi locked her in a closet somewhere.
00:31:15.000 She has been described as having the voice of a feral angel.
00:31:18.000 I don't know.
00:31:36.000 Couldn't take the joke and she got very upset about it and started cursing about it.
00:31:39.000 She's supposed to be a handful, so anytime.
00:31:42.000 It's particularly funny when a celebrity who's kind of a jerk gets mocked.
00:31:45.000 So that's funny.
00:31:46.000 Okay, now on to things that I hate.
00:31:47.000 So there's a new Batman Superman movie that's coming out.
00:31:51.000 The last Superman movie, Man of Steel, was a major disappointment.
00:31:54.000 The Batman movies I'm a huge fan of.
00:31:56.000 I love Christopher Nolan.
00:31:57.000 I thought they were all great movies.
00:31:59.000 I thought Dark Knight is an amazing film.
00:32:02.000 Certainly a top five action flick of all time, Dark Knight.
00:32:05.000 Maybe number one.
00:32:06.000 I mean it's an amazing movie, Dark Knight.
00:32:07.000 And Dark Knight Rises is...
00:32:11.000 Maybe the most right-wing film of the last 20 years.
00:32:13.000 It's an incredibly right-wing film that is a full-on indictment of communism.
00:32:17.000 And so they moved from that to we're gonna make Batman versus Superman.
00:32:21.000 And people are thinking, oh, this is gonna be awesome, right?
00:32:23.000 Because you've got both Batman and Superman.
00:32:25.000 Then it turned out they were casting Ben Affleck as Batman.
00:32:28.000 Which, he did such a wonderful job as Daredevil.
00:32:30.000 How could you not cast him as Batman?
00:32:33.000 And then, Zack Snyder has been directing these films.
00:32:37.000 Zack Snyder is wildly overrated.
00:32:39.000 And the first preview came out, and I was cautiously... I want to say cautiously optimistic, but that's not really even it.
00:32:45.000 I sort of had just trepidation about it.
00:32:47.000 I didn't think it was going to suck.
00:32:49.000 I didn't think it was going to be great.
00:32:50.000 I thought it could be either.
00:32:51.000 The preview didn't tell me enough.
00:32:53.000 Then there was the new preview that came out, and the new preview just looks not good.
00:32:58.000 It just looks not good.
00:32:59.000 It looks like they're cramming every superhero they can find into this movie.
00:33:02.000 I understand it's a Justice League movie.
00:33:04.000 It's an introduction to the Justice League.
00:33:06.000 But what they really should have done is used the inju- for comic book fans, they should have used the Injustice storyline from the comic books, in which
00:33:13.000 We're good to go.
00:33:34.000 But that's not what I hate, okay?
00:33:36.000 So this movie I don't think is going to be particularly good.
00:33:38.000 I'll go to see it anyway because I love comic book movies and I watch basically all of them.
00:33:42.000 My sister is such a comic book nut that she went to see even the new Fantastic Four movie that no one went to see.
00:33:47.000 She's the only person who went to see that movie.
00:33:50.000 And so it made $12 at the box office and they came from my sister.
00:33:54.000 So we'll probably go to see this particular movie.
00:33:57.000 But here's the thing that I hate.
00:33:59.000 And it actually isn't the movie.
00:34:00.000 There's this little clip that came out from the movie.
00:34:02.000 It's a little preview clip.
00:34:04.000 And I actually like this preview clip.
00:34:05.000 I actually think it's kind of cool.
00:34:07.000 This isn't the thing that I hate.
00:34:08.000 We'll show you the preview clip and then I'll tell you the thing that I hate.
00:34:29.000 For those who can't see, Batman is chained up with his hands over his head and Superman just kind of descended into whatever pit he's in and a bunch of people bow to Superman because he's God, right?
00:34:39.000 And now Superman is reaching over, and he's grabbing Ben Affleck's bat mask, and he's pulling it off of him, and they're staring at each other in very angry fashion.
00:34:47.000 They're obviously pissed at each other, right?
00:34:49.000 They're very mad, right?
00:34:50.000 Because they're in conflict, right?
00:34:51.000 This is the central conflict.
00:34:52.000 It's Superman versus Batman.
00:34:54.000 That's the whole premise of the film.
00:34:56.000 Okay, so that's not the thing that I hate.
00:34:57.000 I think that's kind of cool.
00:34:58.000 It could be interesting.
00:35:00.000 Here's the thing that I hate.
00:35:01.000 BuzzFeed, which is just a garbage website for garbage.
00:35:05.000 I mean, they have funny cat memes and leftist politics.
00:35:07.000 That's BuzzFeed.
00:35:09.000 Their entertainment reporter tweeted out,
00:35:16.000 And no normal person watched this clip and went, yeah, those dudes definitely want to go at each other.
00:35:21.000 Okay, nobody watches that and they're like, yeah, that's going to be Brokeback Mountain Part 2, the sequel.
00:35:26.000 Superman, Brokeback Mountain.
00:35:27.000 That's what it's going to be.
00:35:28.000 No one in their right mind.
00:35:29.000 But the guy who wrote this, Christian Zamo, who's the guy who wrote this, is apparently, according to his profile, he's a gay guy, and so apparently when he goes to Vons and he's in the checkout line, there's sexual tension with the male checker.
00:35:41.000 But this is something that I truly despise about modern society, is that they've actually destroyed the notion of male friendship or even male conflict.
00:35:51.000 The idea that two guys can just be friends, and this is true for women too, they've actually done it across the board.
00:35:56.000 The idea that two women can be friends, they've done it actually in the comic books now.
00:35:59.000 Catwoman can't just be a powerful woman, she has to be a bisexual.
00:36:03.000 Right?
00:36:03.000 Wonder Woman has to be quasi-bisexual.
00:36:05.000 All of these women, if you're a powerful woman, that means that you're quasi-bisexual, which is such unbelievable nonsense.
00:36:10.000 I mean, seriously.
00:36:11.000 All the powerful women in my life that I know are absolutely straight.
00:36:16.000 But the left has decided that in order to make everyone feel- everyone's just a little gay on the inside, right?
00:36:21.000 In order to make everybody feel that way, they're now going to take pop-cultural moments and they're going to read sexual tension into them.
00:36:28.000 So, it's not just that these are two guys who are fr- and by the way, Superman and Batman, spoiler alert, they will end up being friends, okay?
00:36:34.000 Superman is not going to kill Batman, and Batman is not going to kill Superman.
00:36:37.000 There are future sequels planned, okay?
00:36:39.000 So, they will end up on the same side of the aisle, but they're not gonna end up on the same side of the bed, right?
00:36:43.000 That's not- that's not the point of this thing, but the left is so desperate to see sexual tension everywhere, so that they can imply that everyone is just a little bit gay.
00:36:52.000 See, not- not everyone is just a little bit straight.
00:36:53.000 Gay people are totally gay, but all straight people are a little bit gay.
00:36:56.000 Right?
00:36:57.000 That's the way that this works.
00:36:58.000 If you're a gay person, you are unerringly and unchangingly gay from now till the end of time.
00:37:03.000 If you're a straight person, you can magically convert.
00:37:05.000 I mean, have you seen a Hollywood movie?
00:37:06.000 You have a 25-year-old woman who's been straight her entire life, but then she spots a beautiful woman, and suddenly she's attracted.
00:37:12.000 It's like, what?
00:37:12.000 She's never seen a woman before?
00:37:13.000 She's 25!
00:37:14.000 Like, I assume she's seen a woman before.
00:37:16.000 But no, people randomly shift, and sexuality's completely malleable and fluid.
00:37:20.000 And they're doing this about what is a movie for teens.
00:37:24.000 Right?
00:37:24.000 Which is the most sexually confusing time of any boy's or girl's life is when you're a teenager and the hormones are first starting to hit and boys are basically willing to screw a tree.
00:37:33.000 And this is when they decide that they're going to target these kids.
00:37:35.000 So that's the thing I hate, is the left's perverse decision that they must read sexuality.
00:37:41.000 Into everything, including things that have no sexual content to them at all.
00:37:45.000 It's not just irritating, it's actually problematic, because you're teaching kids to see sex everywhere.
00:37:50.000 And that's not a healthy mindset.
00:37:52.000 You wonder why the society is over-sexualized, and you wonder why young boys have perverse views of women, and why they're trying to screw everything in sight.
00:37:59.000 Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you're reading sex into everything to push your own sexual agenda.
00:38:03.000 So that's the thing I hate for today, aside from Islamic terrorism and the failure of the left to recognize that it even exists.
00:38:10.000 By the way, I should note that we haven't yet locked down the rationale for what just happened in San Bernardino, but it is important to mention we are experiencing here in California a historic drought.
00:38:22.000 So you never know.
00:38:23.000 It could be climate change.
00:38:25.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:38:25.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
