00:00:01.000 Here we are, it's a Monday morning, and President Obama has explained to us all how he's about to defeat ISIS.
00:00:06.000 We'll go through all of that, plus a very special Christmas episode of Stuff I Hate.
00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro, this is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:14.000 Okay, so President Obama is somebody who is questionable.
00:00:27.000 There was a question that I had going in.
00:00:29.000 About whether the President of the United States was going to announce that he was a dictator, whether he was going to announce that he was a lame duck.
00:00:36.000 That was sort of the question going into President Obama's speech.
00:00:39.000 And I had a conversation with Jeremy, who's the managing editor over at Daily Wire.
00:00:43.000 We were talking about this yesterday.
00:00:44.000 President Obama had announced yesterday that he was going to do
00:00:47.000 His speech and it was mainly going to concern gun control.
00:00:50.000 CBS News billed it as an urgent appeal for gun control.
00:00:54.000 And Jeremy and I were wondering just like everybody else, what exactly is this going to be?
00:00:57.000 Is President Obama going to come out and announce some sort of broad executive action banning guns?
00:01:03.000 Is he going to dare Congress to stop him?
00:01:05.000 Is he going to dare Congress to impeach him or shut down the government?
00:01:08.000 Is he going to dare the Supreme Court to stop him?
00:01:10.000 Or is President Obama going to do something more moderate?
00:01:13.000 And what's to stop him from doing something truly extreme?
00:01:16.000 After all, the president has gone out of his way just through executive action to legitimize millions and millions of illegal immigrants.
00:01:22.000 The president has gone out of his way with executive action to push forward an Iran nuclear deal that is the worst in American history.
00:01:29.000 So what exactly would stop him from taking executive action on guns if that's what he wanted to do?
00:01:34.000 And if he were really nefarious about it and wanted to grab guns, if he tried to grab guns and he sent federal agents in to grab guns, he would know that that would cause conflict at the state and local level, that there might be people who would resist in armed fashion.
00:01:46.000 And if that happened, wouldn't the president take advantage of that and call for broader powers for himself?
00:01:51.000 I mean, this is all dark, conspiratorial stuff, of course.
00:01:54.000 This is what President Obama has sort of brought people to because he's gone so far in his exercises, his abuse, really, of executive authority.
00:02:02.000 So, last night, we really didn't know what to expect.
00:02:04.000 President Obama was supposed to break into Sunday Night Football.
00:02:07.000 And give this speech about ISIS and terrorism in the aftermath of the San Bernardino terror attacks that happened last week.
00:02:14.000 And we now know, of course, that these are terror attacks, that the two people who did this, Syed Farouk and Tashfeen Malik, this delightful married couple who we desperately needed in the United States, you know, to enrich our culture and make multiculturalism and diversity more of a rich and deep undertone to American life.
00:02:33.000 These people went on a shooting spree.
00:02:34.000 They killed 14 people.
00:02:35.000 They'd set pipe bombs.
00:02:37.000 I don't know.
00:02:59.000 He decided that he was going to break into Sunday Night Football, which is of course sacred television time for the American people, to talk about what he was going to do with ISIS.
00:03:07.000 And as I said, it was questionable as to whether he was going to push forward a very ambitious executive agenda, just say he was going to do stuff and then wait for the chips to fall where they may, or whether the President of the United States was going to mule and whine.
00:03:22.000 And given the opportunity, the president muled and whined.
00:03:24.000 And that was basically the short form of President Obama's speech.
00:03:27.000 It broke down into three sections, and we'll go through all of this.
00:03:30.000 It broke down into the, no really, I'm doing an awesome job, guys, segment.
00:03:33.000 That was kind of part one of President Obama's speech.
00:03:36.000 Don't worry, you shouldn't be too worried.
00:03:38.000 I'm doing a great job, you're all safe.
00:03:40.000 Don't look at the terrorism threat behind the curtain.
00:03:43.000 And Obama's been doing this for years, going all the way back to 2011-2012, when, as we found out last week, President Obama was ignoring all intelligence about the rise of ISIS in order to achieve his magical end of being re-elected.
00:03:55.000 So part one of his speech was, everything is fine.
00:03:58.000 Part two of his speech was, if everything isn't fine, it's really because we need gun control.
00:04:05.000 And then part three was, if everything still isn't fine, it's because you're all a bunch of Islamophobes.
00:04:09.000 Those were the three parts of the speech.
00:04:11.000 I'm awesome.
00:04:12.000 You suck, and we're taking your guns.
00:04:13.000 You suck, and it's because you hate Muslims.
00:04:15.000 Those were really the three parts of the speech.
00:04:17.000 And we'll go through all of it, because there actually were some weird moments in here, some telling moments, but what this really said to me, what this speech really said to me, is that Obama has finally acknowledged, even in his own head, that he's a lame duck.
00:04:28.000 Which is good.
00:04:29.000 I mean, in that way, it's good for us because, again, the conspiratorially minded were saying, okay, President Obama's going to maximize his executive authority.
00:04:36.000 He's going to dare people to remove him from office.
00:04:38.000 I never thought that Obama would actually do that, but when Obama started to use executive authority in unprecedented ways,
00:04:45.000 It had to at least cross your mind, right?
00:04:47.000 And so yesterday we found out that Obama actually thinks he's a lame duck, and so instead of just declaring executive action on guns, he said he was going to push Congress, which of course will come to nothing.
00:04:56.000 He's going to campaign on it, and he's going to push it, and he's going to let Hillary Clinton campaign on it, more importantly.
00:05:02.000 So, let's start with the President of the United States, who's kind of a weird setup.
00:05:05.000 He was speaking in the Oval Office.
00:05:07.000 And again, breaking into Sunday Night Football for no reason.
00:05:10.000 If you're gonna break into Sunday Night Football, it better be for something good.
00:05:13.000 He broke in and basically had nothing to say for 14 minutes, but he was standing in the Oval Office, which is rare.
00:05:18.000 Typically, the Oval Office, you're sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office, that's what we're used to seeing.
00:05:23.000 There were some, again, conspiracy theories that Obama wasn't even in the Oval Office, that it was actually just a green screen backdrop, because he had to get over to the Kennedy Center Honors Awards.
00:05:32.000 But, assuming that he actually was in the Oval Office that has been
00:05:38.000 Our military and counterterrorism professionals have relentlessly pursued terrorist networks overseas, disrupting safe havens in several different countries, killing Osama bin Laden, and decimating al Qaeda's leadership.
00:06:03.000 Over the last few years, however,
00:06:05.000 The terrorist threat has evolved into a new phase.
00:06:09.000 As we've become better at preventing complex, multifaceted attacks like 9-11, terrorists turn to less complicated acts of violence, like the mass shootings that are all too common in our society.
00:06:23.000 It is this type of attack that we saw at Fort Hood in 2009, in Chattanooga earlier this year, and now in San Bernardino.
00:06:32.000 And as groups like ISIL grew stronger amidst the chaos of war in Iraq and then Syria, and as the Internet erases the distance between countries, we see growing efforts by terrorists to poison the minds of people like the Boston Marathon bombers and the San Bernardino killers.
00:06:51.000 Now, if you look closely at President Obama in this particular clip, what you can see is that he's really uneasy.
00:06:56.000 This is not confident and full of himself President Obama.
00:07:00.000 This is really uneasy President Obama.
00:07:02.000 And that's because he's trying desperately to explain why it is we've seen this spate of terrorist attacks on American soil under his watch.
00:07:08.000 I mean, this is the first time that he's openly admitted that what happened in Chattanooga was in fact a terrorist attack.
00:07:12.000 This is the first time the President of the United States has openly admitted that what happened at Fort Hood was a terrorist attack.
00:07:18.000 Remember, it was workplace violence.
00:07:20.000 To the extent that the people who were killed in Fort Hood weren't even getting compensated properly.
00:07:24.000 Right?
00:07:25.000 It really is truly amazing.
00:07:26.000 So the President of the United States, there are a couple things here.
00:07:28.000 First, he starts off with the, there's nothing wrong with me, right?
00:07:31.000 I did a great job.
00:07:32.000 I destroyed Al-Qaeda.
00:07:33.000 And that's him trying to proclaim to everybody that President Obama is still the guy who's going to defend you.
00:07:39.000 Remember, he ran in 2011-2012 on Al-Qaeda is dead, Bin Laden is dead, and General Motors is alive.
00:07:45.000 He's trying desperately to prove to everyone that this is still true.
00:07:49.000 And so he's saying, no, no, I wasn't lying when I said the terrorism and all kind of words.
00:07:52.000 I wasn't lying about any of that.
00:07:54.000 It's just like it sort of shifted a little bit.
00:07:56.000 Like now it's it's over at ISIS land.
00:07:58.000 Now he knew that ISIS was growing.
00:07:59.000 He just didn't do anything about it.
00:08:00.000 That's that's the lie here.
00:08:02.000 But President Obama is desperately trying to maintain the fiction that he did a great job in his first term on this.
00:08:07.000 Then he says, well, you know, we really got rid of the complex terror attacks, but the kind of low level terror that we haven't been able to do anything about.
00:08:15.000 Well, that's kind of amazing because it seems to me that President Bush sort of was, right?
00:08:20.000 How many of these low-level terrorist attacks did we have in the United States when Bush was in office?
00:08:23.000 I mean, do you remember any?
00:08:26.000 There were a couple.
00:08:27.000 There was the shooting at the El Al counter.
00:08:29.000 There is the attempt to smuggle a bomb into Bomb LAX, but in terms of a soft target terror attack, this is really a phenomenon of the Obama administration.
00:08:38.000 And it's not that those threats didn't exist before.
00:08:41.000 It's not that Al-Qaeda hadn't discovered those threats.
00:08:42.000 Al-Qaeda used to carry out attacks that were similar to what we've seen from ISIS on a fairly regular basis.
00:08:48.000 What happened is that President Bush understood that the threat went pretty far beyond
00:08:51.000 Just were gonna fly planes into buildings and went to soft targets as well.
00:08:55.000 And then finally, President Obama basically says, don't blame me, blame radicalization.
00:08:59.000 Blame the Internet, right?
00:09:00.000 It's the Internet's fault.
00:09:01.000 So it's Bush's fault, and it's the Internet's fault.
00:09:03.000 It's not, it's never his fault.
00:09:04.000 It's the Internet's fault.
00:09:05.000 The Internet radicalized these people.
00:09:07.000 It poisoned their minds.
00:09:09.000 For seven years,
00:09:39.000 I have confronted this evolving threat each and every morning in my intelligence briefing.
00:09:44.000 And since the day I took this office, I have authorized U.S.
00:09:48.000 forces to take out terrorists abroad precisely because I know how real the danger is.
00:09:55.000 As Commander-in-Chief, I have no greater responsibility than the security of the American people.
00:10:00.000 And President Obama, again, looking very uneasy throughout all of this.
00:10:03.000 Okay, first of all, we know he skips intelligence briefings, right?
00:10:06.000 We actually know he does this.
00:10:07.000 He's admitted this in the past.
00:10:09.000 He said that he only meets with his full intelligence team once every few weeks.
00:10:12.000 So the idea that he's really on top of this stuff is a lie.
00:10:15.000 Also, this is him relying on his drone war.
00:10:18.000 The one thing Obama has done right is that he has used drones to kill terrorists.
00:10:21.000 Unfortunately,
00:10:22.000 Well, here's what I want you to know.
00:10:53.000 The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it.
00:10:57.000 We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us.
00:11:02.000 Our success won't depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving in to fear.
00:11:08.000 That's what groups like ISIL are hoping for.
00:11:11.000 Instead, we will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless.
00:11:20.000 So this is where President Obama takes out his thesaurus and just starts reading adjectives, right?
00:11:25.000 Well, the way that we're actually going to win is not with military force.
00:11:28.000 We're going to do it by reading adjectives from the thesaurus.
00:11:31.000 That's how we're going to do this.
00:11:31.000 He says that we're going to win by being smart, and strong, and resilient, and relentless, and beautiful, and magnificent, like a silky pony flying in the wind.
00:11:42.000 That's how we're going to win all of this.
00:11:45.000 He says the threat is real, and we'll destroy them, but it won't be because of tough talk.
00:11:50.000 Now what's amazing is that he then follows that up with two sentences of tough talk, right?
00:11:53.000 We're not going to win because of tough talk, but also we're going to win because of tough talk.
00:11:56.000 Then he says we're not going to win by abandoning our values.
00:11:58.000 I don't know whose idea it was to abandon our values, but later he'll explain what he means by abandoning our values is believing that radical Islam is a threat.
00:12:06.000 If you believe radical Islam is a threat, then you're the problem, right?
00:12:09.000 You're part of the problem.
00:12:10.000 Or if you believe that radical Islam
00:12:12.000 No, we're going to prevail by being smart and resilient and relentless and fierce.
00:12:16.000 Fierce!
00:12:25.000 This is President Obama's take.
00:12:26.000 He got down to a few specifics here, and the problem is, once he got past the thesaurus section, he got down to specifics, there's really nothing there.
00:12:33.000 Hillary Clinton, infamously, had John Podesta, her campaign manager, tweet out, she did a couple weeks ago, a speech about how to defeat ISIS, this is after Paris, and he tweeted out, Hillary Clinton's strategy for defeating ISIS.
00:12:46.000 And it was three points, and the first point was, defeat ISIS.
00:12:50.000 And that's pretty much President Obama's plan here.
00:12:52.000 Don't worry, we're going to defeat ISIS.
00:12:54.000 Here's how we're going to do it.
00:12:55.000 We're going to do it by defeating ISIS.
00:12:57.000 It's so funny, people make fun of Donald Trump for being platitudinous.
00:13:01.000 This is truly platitudinous.
00:13:03.000 Here's President Obama's plan.
00:13:04.000 So President Obama says that he breaks it down into three basic points, right?
00:13:10.000 As any decent rhetorician would, he breaks it down into three points.
00:13:14.000 He says, first, our military would continue to hunt down terrorist plotters in any country where it's necessary.
00:13:19.000 Now, what's amazing, of course, is that he removed troops that allow us to do this, so we won't be hunting down terrorist plotters in Iraq, for example.
00:13:25.000 Except for the 50 to 200 operatives he's put back in there.
00:13:29.000 We won't really be doing it in Libya, where we've pretty much abandoned the fight.
00:13:32.000 We're not going to allow Israel to do it in the Palestinian areas.
00:13:35.000 We're not going to do it in a lot of places, but don't worry.
00:13:37.000 We're going to hunt down terrorist plotters in all these countries.
00:13:40.000 It won't be us, though.
00:13:41.000 We'll have boots on the ground from other people doing it.
00:13:44.000 Then, President Obama said that we are going to provide training and equipment to tens of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian forces.
00:13:51.000 He sort of neglects to mention that the tens of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian forces fighting ISIL don't exist.
00:13:56.000 And the fact is that ISIS, when they went into Iraq, defeated an army 10 times to 20 times their size because those people cut and ran.
00:14:05.000 The forces, as I mentioned last week, I went through, the various players in the Middle East don't have much of an interest in getting rid of ISIS.
00:14:11.000 In fact, they sort of have an interest in keeping ISIS there.
00:14:13.000 ISIS is sort of good for Iran because it makes Iran look like a good guy.
00:14:16.000 ISIS is good for Syrian dictator Bashar Assad because it makes him look like the good guy, right?
00:14:21.000 Who are you going to choose, Bashar Assad or ISIS?
00:14:24.000 Two years ago, we were talking about deposing Assad.
00:14:26.000 That talk has gone completely away because of ISIS.
00:14:29.000 So Obama says, we'll use boots on the ground.
00:14:31.000 We won't use American boots on the ground.
00:14:32.000 We'll use magical, phantom boots on the ground that don't really exist because Vladimir Putin and Bashar Assad have been bombing the Free Syrian Army out of existence.
00:14:41.000 So there really are no boots on the ground.
00:14:42.000 This is the great unspoken truth here.
00:14:45.000 Is that every time Obama and company, they say they want boots on the ground, what they really mean is there are no boots on the ground, we're gonna bomb from the air.
00:14:51.000 Now I read an analysis over the weekend by somebody who's on the ground saying that ISIS wants American troops there because they want to kill American troops.
00:14:59.000 I'm sure that there's some truth to that.
00:15:00.000 Terrorist groups want to kill American troops.
00:15:02.000 What they don't want is enough American troops there to actually destroy them.
00:15:06.000 That's what they don't want.
00:15:07.000 Al Qaeda wanted the United States in Iraq, but they wanted us there with a moderate troop level.
00:15:11.000 They didn't want us there with surge levels of American troops, because then we wiped them off the face of the earth.
00:15:16.000 We made them irrelevant.
00:15:17.000 Just because ISIS wants something doesn't mean they know what they're going to get.
00:15:20.000 There are a lot of people who think they want to get into a fist fight, and then when they realize that you've had boxing lessons, then things radically change.
00:15:27.000 And that's sort of the story with ISIS.
00:15:29.000 Finally, President Obama says that we're working with friends and allies to stop ISIL's operation, and he says that we're cooperating with Muslim-majority countries.
00:15:37.000 First of all, if he actually thinks that Saudi Arabia is combating the vicious ideology of ISIS with their skillful Facebook pages,
00:15:50.000 No.
00:15:51.000 In most of these countries, the Internet is not even a thing.
00:15:54.000 And the people who are actually Internet-savvy tend to be the terrorists.
00:15:57.000 Iran is happy promoting ISIS.
00:15:59.000 Not ISIS propaganda, but very ISIS-similar sort of stuff, right?
00:16:03.000 The West is terrible, Israel is terrible, join us.
00:16:06.000 Whether it's Shia or whether it's Sunni, not a lot of Muslim countries out there pushing the quote-unquote moderate Muslim message.
00:16:12.000 To lots of people.
00:16:12.000 They may push an anti-ISIS message, but there is a difference, folks, between anti-ISIS and moderate Muslim.
00:16:18.000 There's a very big difference, right?
00:16:20.000 Iran is anti-ISIS.
00:16:21.000 They are certainly not moderate in any way, shape, or form.
00:16:24.000 So this idea that you can just defeat ISIS by activating our Muslim allies, our grand Muslim allies, name a Muslim country that really promotes quote-unquote moderate Islam, you know, democracy-loving Islam.
00:16:35.000 Not even our closest allies like Jordan are in favor of that because it's a monarchy, right?
00:16:39.000 They're not in favor of women's rights and women's equality.
00:16:42.000 They're not in favor of the vote, obviously, because Jordan is run by a monarchy.
00:16:46.000 So this idea that there are all these regimes out there we're working with to combat ISIL's ideology, ISIS's ideology, it's just, it's not factually true.
00:16:53.000 It's not factually true.
00:16:54.000 So President Obama concludes that was his strategy, his grand strategy for combating ISIS.
00:16:59.000 And don't fear, just because it hasn't worked in the past doesn't mean it won't work now.
00:17:03.000 I mean, I guess if you just keep beating your head against this stone wall, things will magically change.
00:17:07.000 Clip seven, please.
00:17:13.000 This is our strategy to destroy ISIL.
00:17:16.000 It is designed and supported by our military commanders and counterterrorism experts, together with 65 countries that have joined an American-led coalition.
00:17:26.000 And we constantly examine our strategy to determine when additional steps are needed to get the job done.
00:17:32.000 That's why I've ordered the Departments of State and Homeland Security to review the visa waiver program under which the female terrorist in San Bernardino originally came to this country.
00:17:43.000 And that's why I will urge high-tech and law enforcement leaders to make it harder for terrorists to use technology to escape from justice.
00:17:51.000 Wow.
00:17:52.000 So we're going to hack them now.
00:17:53.000 So he says that what's amazing is the president who wants to bring in tens of thousands of more Syrian Muslim refugees we can't vet.
00:18:00.000 That guy says, don't worry, I'm working with state and homeland security to ensure that you're all safe.
00:18:04.000 A couple of facts about state and homeland security and screening.
00:18:06.000 First of all, Obama doesn't even get his fact check right here.
00:18:09.000 I mean, he actually gets it wrong.
00:18:10.000 The lady didn't get in on a visa waiver program.
00:18:12.000 She got in a K-1 fiance visa.
00:18:14.000 When she got in, she wrote down her former address in Pakistan, as he likes to say.
00:18:19.000 And her former address in Pakistan, only one problem.
00:18:21.000 It doesn't exist.
00:18:23.000 She wrote down a fake address.
00:18:24.000 But our visa program is so skillful.
00:18:27.000 Our government is so good at vetting these people.
00:18:29.000 That just a few tweaks here and there should basically fix this and we should be able to put in 25,000 more Syrian Muslim refugees into the country.
00:18:36.000 No problem at all.
00:18:37.000 It'll all work out just spectacularly.
00:18:39.000 By the way, he did have a fourth point, actually.
00:18:41.000 He said that in his ISIS plan, he says that he wants the international community
00:18:46.000 to pursue a ceasefire in Syria, which of course is never going to happen because Bashar Assad is backed by Vladimir Putin.
00:18:52.000 When Obama says that he is going to now instruct state and homeland security to fix everything, it is truly amazing that he thinks that we believe this.
00:19:00.000 Does anyone feel more secure listening to this, by the way?
00:19:02.000 I mean, we've got people in the room.
00:19:03.000 Anybody feel more secure listening to this?
00:19:04.000 Who feels more secure listening to this?
00:19:06.000 Who feels like, okay, he broke into our Sunday night football to tell us we're all safe and now I'm ready to go out shopping?
00:19:13.000 Last night was first night of Hanukkah and I turned to my wife and we thought to ourselves, you know, there's a big Hanukkah party that was happening and we were thinking of going to one of these parties with my baby out in public and my wife and I looked at each other and we actually had a serious conversation.
00:19:27.000 Do we go out into a public area right now?
00:19:30.000 And hang out in public because we don't feel safe, especially as Jews we don't feel safe.
00:19:34.000 I wear my yarmulke on TV, I wear my yarmulke everywhere, but one of the things I've taken to doing more and more often is wearing a baseball cap over my yarmulke because I don't feel safe in the way that I used to in the United States.
00:19:44.000 Not when President Obama is incapable of defending us, and not when he did what he did last night.
00:19:49.000 Which is him moving on to part two.
00:19:51.000 So part one, remember, was, don't worry guys, I've got this handled.
00:19:53.000 Part two was, I don't really have this handled, and really, this is kind of your fault, America.
00:19:58.000 You guys suck.
00:20:00.000 Right?
00:20:00.000 I mean, I've been doing a great job, but you, you people, you're terrible.
00:20:05.000 And the you people who are terrible are really the folks at the Republicans in Congress, naturally, naturally, naturally.
00:20:10.000 The folks in Congress are terrible.
00:20:11.000 And you, the American people, are terrible.
00:20:13.000 So, one of the memes that was pushed out by folks on the left last week
00:20:17.000 Was this meme that President Obama was pushing, and the New York Times was pushing, which is that Republicans want terrorists to have guns.
00:20:22.000 They're so addicted to guns that they want terrorists to have guns.
00:20:26.000 This is what President Obama says.
00:20:28.000 And he says that, you know, Republicans need to vote to take guns away from anyone on the no-fly list, or on the terror watch list.
00:20:36.000 This is part of his plan.
00:20:37.000 There's only one problem with that.
00:20:38.000 We still have due process of law in this country, and you can't just take people's rights away from them without any basis in evidence.
00:20:44.000 It's amazing that President Obama is suggesting that, especially after saying that Republicans are the ones who want to violate civil liberties, but President Obama wants to do that.
00:20:51.000 Then he got to his real point last night, and this was gun control.
00:20:54.000 Clip nine, please.
00:20:58.000 We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons, like the ones that were used in San Bernardino.
00:21:04.000 I know there are some who reject any gun safety measures, but the fact is that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies, no matter how effective they are,
00:21:14.000 Can't we?
00:21:28.000 This is totally asinine.
00:21:29.000 And what he's saying right here is totally asinine.
00:21:31.000 So, in other words, we can't track- he actually says in this quote, we can't track down every would-be terrorist, but we can track down all 300 million guns in America.
00:21:40.000 Right?
00:21:40.000 All 300 million guns and 100 million gun owners.
00:21:42.000 We can track all of them down.
00:21:44.000 That'll be easier.
00:21:45.000 Yeah, definitely.
00:21:46.000 We now found out, by the way, the San Bernardino shooters, they had four guns, two of them were bought legally, two of them they borrowed from a guy who lived next door, basically.
00:21:53.000 Who has checked himself, apparently, according to the Associated Press, into a mental institution to avoid talking to the police.
00:21:59.000 So President Obama, again, he has not suggested a single gun law that would prevent all of this, but taking my gun away from me makes me feel secure.
00:22:06.000 Yeah, that's gonna make me feel more secure.
00:22:07.000 So you can't stop these people from coming into the country.
00:22:09.000 We now have a photo, a photo of this couple coming into the country in 2014.
00:22:14.000 Looking for all the world, like, very, very religious Muslims.
00:22:17.000 Okay, coming directly from Pakistan for her and Saudi Arabia for him.
00:22:22.000 No problems there.
00:22:23.000 But take my gun away from me.
00:22:25.000 Alright, my gun is the real threat to the whole situation.
00:22:28.000 I mean, remember, a couple of things.
00:22:30.000 One, last time terrorists tried an attack in America, they tried it in Garland, Texas, and they tried to shoot up, if you recall, a Dramahamede festival.
00:22:39.000 There's only one problem, it was in Texas.
00:22:40.000 So they actually had security there, number one.
00:22:43.000 And number two, everybody in the place had a gun.
00:22:45.000 So things were a little bit different than San Bernardino, California.
00:22:48.000 But I know at least a half dozen friends I talked to over the weekend in California who would probably consider carrying illegally at this point just because you can't get a concealed carry permit in the state of California and they would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
00:23:01.000 And I can't blame them for that.
00:23:03.000 I really can't.
00:23:03.000 So President Obama says it's all about the gun control.
00:23:05.000 The agenda, Uber Alice, it's the agenda above all.
00:23:08.000 That's all that matters in the world for President Obama is the agenda, the agenda, and more of the agenda.
00:23:14.000 And then President Obama gets to the final piece of his agenda.
00:23:16.000 As I said, there was the gun control portion, that was part two.
00:23:19.000 And part three was, you're all a bunch of Islamophobic boobs, and the reason ISIS hates us is because you're so mean to Muslims.
00:23:24.000 Now, this is a far cry.
00:23:25.000 Today actually marks the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
00:23:29.000 And FDR spoke on the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and FDR said, we all know what basically what kind of weasels did this.
00:23:36.000 And then he proceeded to spend four years putting out anti-Japanese propaganda, anti-Japanese Imperial Army propaganda, anti-Nazi propaganda.
00:23:43.000 President Obama does the opposite.
00:23:45.000 President Obama, he talked about ISIS a little bit.
00:23:48.000 He talked about Islam a little bit.
00:23:51.000 There are two clips that are worth playing here.
00:23:53.000 Clip 14 is where he talks about what he wants to do about radical... what we need to do about radical Islam.
00:24:00.000 We can't turn this into a war between America and Islam, is what he says.
00:24:04.000 Here's what else we cannot do.
00:24:07.000 We cannot turn against one another by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam.
00:24:16.000 That, too, is what groups like ISIL want.
00:24:20.000 ISIL does not speak for Islam.
00:24:22.000 They are thugs and killers, part of a cult of death.
00:24:27.000 And they account for a tiny fraction of the more than a billion Muslims around the world, including millions of patriotic Muslim Americans who reject their hateful ideology.
00:24:39.000 Moreover, the vast majority of terrorist victims around the world are Muslim.
00:24:44.000 If we're to succeed in defeating terrorism, we must enlist Muslim communities as some of our strongest allies, rather than push them away through suspicion and hate.
00:24:56.000 Okay, I don't know who's pushing Muslims away through suspicion and hate.
00:24:59.000 Do you know anybody who's going down to the local mosque and swastika-ing it?
00:25:02.000 Does anybody know of anybody who's going down to the local Muslim and beating him up?
00:25:05.000 I haven't seen this.
00:25:06.000 I mean, the FBI crime statistics don't show that there has been in the last five years a major upsurge in anti-Muslim violence across the United States due to the rise of ISIS.
00:25:16.000 But there is this bizarre idea, and I have to just call it out here.
00:25:19.000 When President Obama says that there are sort of moderate Muslims who are on the edge, and if we're mean to Muslims, they're magically going to join ISIS,
00:25:26.000 Says who?
00:25:27.000 Okay, the San Bernardino shooter was living in America from the time of his birth.
00:25:31.000 He lived a very privileged life.
00:25:32.000 He was working for the state.
00:25:34.000 He was working for the state of California.
00:25:35.000 He went to college on the taxpayer dime.
00:25:38.000 Right?
00:25:38.000 The idea that this is somebody who was vastly discriminated against, he was alienated, and therefore he went and killed.
00:25:43.000 Now this is President Obama's leftist ideology speaking.
00:25:46.000 It's not reality speaking.
00:25:48.000 Because the fact is, the reason people buy into this ideology has nothing to do with the West treating Muslims badly.
00:25:53.000 The West overwhelmingly treats Muslims incredibly well.
00:25:56.000 Incredibly well.
00:25:57.000 That's why there are millions of Muslims in the United States.
00:26:00.000 Excuse me, and millions of Muslims in France, and millions of Muslims in London.
00:26:04.000 Okay, and President Obama, the great imam over here, explaining to us the nature of Islam.
00:26:09.000 So let me get this straight.
00:26:10.000 According to President Obama, Caitlyn Jenner is a woman, because Caitlyn Jenner says he is a woman.
00:26:15.000 But these people who say they're Muslim, they're not actually Muslim.
00:26:17.000 And he can be the judge of that, because he is an expert on the nature of Islam.
00:26:22.000 The idiocy of this is really beyond compare.
00:26:24.000 Nobody is saying that all Muslims are bad, but to not recognize that there may be a flaw within the practice of Islam, and I don't care what's in people's head, I care what they do.
00:26:34.000 There may be a flaw within the practice of Islam, you know, that is leading hundreds of millions of Muslims to believe bad things, and certainly millions of Muslims to pursue doing bad things.
00:26:44.000 That's ridiculous in ignorance of the president, but it's not even ignorance, it's malicious.
00:26:48.000 Because the idea here is that Muslims aren't the real problem, it's Americans who are the real problem.
00:26:52.000 Now Obama did talk about...
00:26:54.000 Muslims around the world having to condemn this strain within Islam.
00:26:57.000 But what's he actually going to do to make that a reality?
00:26:59.000 He unleashed his Attorney General this week saying that she would prosecute people who said things that were too anti-Islam.
00:27:05.000 What is he doing to actually go after the Muslims who refuse to, for example, condemn terrorism?
00:27:11.000 What is he doing to monitor them?
00:27:13.000 The answer is nothing.
00:27:14.000 His Attorney General also said this week that, you know, the whole see something, say something, that doesn't apply
00:27:19.000 To the folks over at the Irving Police Department in Texas.
00:27:22.000 The Attorney General's office is now looking to the possibility of investigating the Irving Police Department for calling in Clock Boy.
00:27:29.000 The kid who walked in, Muslim kid, walks into school with a thing that looks exactly like a bomb.
00:27:34.000 So, you know, don't buy into that there's a lot of talk even on the right today.
00:27:36.000 Oh, President Obama finally acknowledging the threat of radical Islam.
00:27:40.000 No.
00:27:40.000 Because there are actual consequences for Americans who do the things he doesn't want them to do, but there are no consequences for the global Muslim community that refuses to condemn ISIS, refuses to fight the ideology of Iran, refuses to fight the ideology of the Palestinian Authority.
00:27:54.000 There are no consequences for any of that.
00:27:55.000 We're still signing checks for it.
00:27:57.000 So don't buy that for a second.
00:27:58.000 So there's President Obama's speech in a nutshell.
00:28:00.000 Okay.
00:28:01.000 Now finally, Stuff I Hate.
00:28:03.000 First, a brief thing.
00:28:04.000 I always like to say here's something that I like just to prove that I don't hate everything that's possible to hate in the world.
00:28:10.000 There's a great essay that I was rereading over the weekend that really is quite lovely and beautiful.
00:28:15.000 It's from Mark Twain.
00:28:17.000 He did a series of essays in which he talks from the perspective of Adam and the perspective of Eve in the Garden of Eden.
00:28:22.000 Have you guys ever read this?
00:28:23.000 It's actually, it's quite wonderful, and it's totally worth picking up.
00:28:26.000 You can pick it up on Amazon.com.
00:28:28.000 You can also see it for free online.
00:28:30.000 It's really great.
00:28:30.000 It's the Diaries of Adam and Eve, so you should check that out.
00:28:33.000 Okay, stuff that I hate.
00:28:34.000 Okay, so it's always 30 seconds of stuff I like, I hate, followed by stuff I like, followed by several minutes of things that I hate.
00:28:40.000 Okay, there's the Christmas edition of stuff that I hate.
00:28:43.000 Macy Gray.
00:28:44.000 You guys know who Macy Gray is?
00:28:46.000 I'll admit to you, I didn't know who Macy Gray was, because I listen to real music.
00:28:49.000 Macy Gray
00:28:51.000 There's apparently a singer, although she sounds to me more like somebody who got stuck in a trash compactor.
00:28:57.000 It's sort of like the screams that emanate at the beginning of the Star Wars film.
00:28:59.000 You know, when they're stuck in the trash compactor and they're screaming to C-3PO to save them?
00:29:03.000 That's what Macy Gray sounds like.
00:29:05.000 So, Macy Gray has now cut a new video, and it's called All I Want for Christmas.
00:29:11.000 And you'll see.
00:29:12.000 Here is what Macy Gray wants for Christmas, folks.
00:29:23.000 All I want for Christmas is a whole bunch of stuff.
00:29:27.000 But anything that you can buy me won't be enough.
00:29:31.000 Cause everything I'm hoping for is intangible.
00:29:36.000 Like free healthcare and gun control.
00:29:40.000 If you wanna make the world a better place, say alright.
00:29:45.000 Alright.
00:29:46.000 Alright.
00:29:47.000 Alright.
00:29:49.000 I know what I want this year.
00:29:50.000 I've got bigger things in mind than presents and toys, folks.
00:29:59.000 What do they have in mind?
00:30:26.000 Oh, here comes Santa.
00:30:40.000 Legalize pot for Christmas, gang.
00:30:42.000 That's right.
00:31:01.000 Okay, I can't.
00:31:02.000 I can't.
00:31:02.000 I can't.
00:31:03.000 Okay, stop it.
00:31:04.000 Stop it.
00:31:04.000 Stop it.
00:31:05.000 I can't.
00:31:05.000 I can't.
00:31:06.000 I can't.
00:31:06.000 Thank you.
00:31:07.000 I can't.
00:31:07.000 Okay, so, free healthcare!
00:31:15.000 Legalized marijuana.
00:31:16.000 This is what you want.
00:31:16.000 And the kids are singing along to this, right?
00:31:18.000 The kids are like, yeah, legalized pot, whoo!
00:31:20.000 Yeah, those kids.
00:31:21.000 Those are gonna be future brain surgeons right there.
00:31:24.000 And there's Macy Gray, who sounds, again, like a person or, at this point, a cat tossed in a trash compactor.
00:31:30.000 It's like Bob Dylan crossed with a mountain lion.
00:31:33.000 And she's caterwauling about what she wants.
00:31:36.000 What I love is where she says that what she wants is something intangible, like free healthcare.
00:31:40.000 That's not intangible.
00:31:41.000 You have to pay for it.
00:31:42.000 Right?
00:31:42.000 I mean, that's not intangible.
00:31:44.000 Joan's gun control.
00:31:45.000 That's not really... I mean, when the guy comes to your house and takes the gun, that's not really intangible either.
00:31:49.000 But this is what... The mentality that the gun is... that the government is God is rife throughout this, right?
00:31:56.000 What she wants for Christmas... Christmas, last I checked, and you know, I'm just... I'm just your typical humble Jew, right?
00:32:02.000 Last I checked,
00:32:03.000 Christmas has something to do with the Jesus, right?
00:32:05.000 It has something to do with the birth of Christ, correct?
00:32:08.000 Correct me if I'm wrong here, folks, right?
00:32:10.000 It has something to do with the birth of Christ.
00:32:12.000 It has to do with God, I thought.
00:32:14.000 I thought that that was like all tied in together.
00:32:16.000 I understand I'm Jewish, I'm ignorant on this stuff, but I thought Christmas had something to do with religiosity and God and spirituality and the birth of Christ and the saving of humanity and all of this, right?
00:32:26.000 But for the left, Christmas is just another opportunity to pray to their actual god, government, to their idol.
00:32:33.000 Right?
00:32:33.000 Christmas, what do you want Santa to bring you?
00:32:34.000 Santa is Barack Obama.
00:32:36.000 And Santa's gonna come to the ghetto and bring you legalized marijuana.
00:32:40.000 Isn't that exciting?
00:32:41.000 Santa's gonna come and he's gonna bring you gun control.
00:32:44.000 And healthcare.
00:32:45.000 It's gonna be awesome.
00:32:47.000 This is what they want for Christmas.
00:32:48.000 What they want for Christmas is a transformation of America away from a religious nation that actually cares about things like Christmas.
00:32:56.000 What you really should have sung here is, what I want for Christmas is for Christmas not to exist.
00:33:00.000 I want the government to give me everything and Christmas won't exist because you don't need God.
00:33:03.000 You don't need Santa for any of these things.
00:33:05.000 All you need is the power of a dictator to give you all of these things because they're not for free.
00:33:12.000 Things have to be taken away from others to make these things happen.
00:33:16.000 Listen, I'm not against the legalization of marijuana because I think the government sucks at everything.
00:33:20.000 People who smoke pot annoy the living hell out of me, and if you smoke pot, I want to smack you in the head.
00:33:25.000 I mean, you smell terrible, and you annoy everyone around you, and you're a loser.
00:33:28.000 But aside from that, lots of people do that kind of stuff every day, and I don't think that it's illegal to be a smelly loser if it were Democrats who'd have to leave the country.
00:33:38.000 When this is the sort of entertainment that's being produced, and it's produced for kids, right?
00:33:42.000 For folks who can't see this, this was an animated video with kids singing in it, and it's oh so cutesy.
00:33:48.000 It's oh so cutesy.
00:33:49.000 And this is how the left does its business.
00:33:52.000 They hijack stuff that everybody likes, like Christmas.
00:33:55.000 Even as a Jew, I like the Christmas lights.
00:33:56.000 Everybody, and all the Christmas music, which, by the way, we wrote.
00:33:59.000 Say thank you, right?
00:34:00.000 We wrote all the Christmas music and gave you Jesus, so you can thank us now.
00:34:03.000 But the fact is that when you have folks on the left who hijack conservative ideas, religious ideas like Christmas, and use them for the left, this is how they get their stuff done.
00:34:13.000 They can't do it just by preaching.
00:34:15.000 By the way, we want to legalize pot, and we want to steal money so that we can grab healthcare from you.
00:34:20.000 No, it's something else entirely.
00:34:22.000 We're just gonna hijack your most treasured images.
00:34:25.000 By the way, this is nothing new, actually.
00:34:27.000 I didn't even put this in the things that I hate, but Miley Cyrus is gonna be singing Silent Night for the...
00:34:32.000 We're good to go.
00:34:46.000 What percentage of Republicans would be upset if their kid married a Democrat?
00:34:49.000 It said only 49% of Republicans would be upset.
00:34:52.000 That's up from 5% in 1960.
00:34:54.000 That's because the Democrats of 1960 are not the Democrats of 2015?
00:34:57.000 Here's what I want to know.
00:34:58.000 Who are these other 51% of Republicans, and how can we convince them that they are being incredibly stupid?
00:35:03.000 You don't want your kid to marry the kinds of people that Macy Gray is appealing to here.
00:35:08.000 I'm Ben Shapiro, and this is The Ben Shapiro Show.
