Summary

Biden and Trump are back at it again, and this time it's Biden's turn to take on Donald Trump in the 2020 Democratic primary. Joe Biden's campaign is trotting out an internal memo laying out its strategy to defeat Donald Trump, and I break down what it means for the future of the Democratic primary race and why it's not as simple as it might seem. I also talk about why Joe Biden is the better presidential candidate than Donald Trump and why he's running for president in 2020, and why you should be worried about who he s running against in the primary, not who Trump is running against, and what that means for his chances of defeating Hillary Clinton in the general election. I also discuss why I think Joe Biden has a better chance of defeating Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton, and how that's a good thing. Finally, I talk about how much money Joe Biden should be spending on his campaign and why Donald Trump is a terrible presidential candidate and why Hillary Clinton should be the better choice in 2020. And I answer the question, who's going to beat Joe Biden in 2020? -- and why Joe should I vote for Joe Biden? -- and how much I'm betting on Joe Biden to win the election? And much, much more! 00:00:00.000 So, it's Trump versus Biden.
00:00:01.000 Now, we've known that for legitimately months, if not years at this point, but with Nikki Haley dropping out of the race this week, the race is now finalized.
00:00:10.000 It is Trump, it is Biden, part two, Electric Boogaloo!
00:00:14.000 Are you ready for the sequel?
00:00:16.000 Oh man, ah, the revenge campaign.
00:00:18.000 Donald Trump, the first Republican candidate since Richard Nixon to actually be nominated three separate times, and of course, the first presidential candidate to Think about two non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland running against the oldest president in American history, Joe Biden.
00:00:38.000 So if you're excited, let me recommend that it is currently March, and there's eight more months of this.
00:00:43.000 We haven't even gotten started yet!
00:00:46.000 And of course, this campaign has been going on for quite a while.
00:00:48.000 Well, Joe Biden is now trotting out a memo.
00:00:50.000 It's been put out by his campaign chair, Jen O'Malley Dillon, and campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez.
00:00:56.000 And it was issued in full to media outlets.
00:01:01.000 And here is what this memo says.
00:01:02.000 This is a memo that's laying out the Biden strategy against Donald Trump.
00:01:07.000 Subject, Trump enters the general election beleaguered and ill-equipped.
00:01:11.000 The results of last night's Super Tuesday contest cemented what we have known for some time now.
00:01:15.000 Donald Trump limps into the general election as a wounded, dangerous, and unpopular candidate.
00:01:19.000 The Republican nominee is cash-strapped, beleaguered by a host of external issues, and is running on an extreme agenda that is already proving to be a significant liability for key voting blocs that are critical to the pathway to 270 electoral votes.
00:01:31.000 Well, that's some wishful thinking right there, given the fact that Donald Trump is in commanding poll position.
00:01:35.000 He did not lead at pretty much any point in the 2020 race.
00:01:38.000 In fact, in the last few months of polling, Donald Trump led in precisely two polls in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
00:01:46.000 I mean, like, not in the average.
00:01:48.000 Two polls included in that average over the course of the last several months of that election cycle.
00:01:53.000 And then he outperformed the RealClearPolitics polling average by about three percentage points.
00:01:57.000 He tends to outperform his polls in general elections because there are so many people who end up voting Trump who don't want to tell pollsters they're actually going to vote for Trump.
00:02:05.000 Right now, Donald Trump has led this race in the RealClearPolitics polling average since mid-September.
00:02:10.000 Joe Biden has led, in the last 30 polls, a grand total of four.
00:02:16.000 He is tied into others.
00:02:17.000 Okay, that means, for those counting, that in 24 of the last 30 polls, Donald Trump is in the lead.
00:02:24.000 So when they say that he has significant liabilities, I mean, Donald Trump does have significant liabilities, but he does have one particular asset, and that is that Joe Biden is the other candidate.
00:02:32.000 The memo says, Team Biden-Harris heads into the general election coming off consistent wins up and down the ballot, maintains a historic and growing grassroots-powered war chest, and now has a strong Super Tuesday showing last night to enter the general election well-prepared and well-positioned to win this November.
00:02:46.000 Now notice how much they're relying on the amount of cash they have stacked up in the back room over there.
00:02:50.000 Let me make something very, very clear.
00:02:52.000 The amount of cash you have in a presidential election cycle is no longer determinative of victory.
00:02:57.000 Democrats have routinely outspent Republicans.
00:02:59.000 Donald Trump was outspent by Hillary Clinton widely in 2016.
00:03:02.000 It did not matter.
00:03:03.000 What are you going to do?
00:03:04.000 Change people's opinion of Donald Trump at this point?
00:03:06.000 Everyone knows what they think of Donald Trump at this point.
00:03:08.000 Ain't no late-breaking voters in this election cycle.
00:03:11.000 Donald Trump has been the center of the American political universe since 2015.
00:03:16.000 The year is now 2024, so for fully a decade, the entire political universe has revolved around Donald Trump.
00:03:22.000 Joe Biden has been a known quantity since the 1970s.
00:03:26.000 Joe Biden was in the Senate before I was born.
00:03:29.000 There's no one in this race who's sitting around going, man, I just can't, I can't, who are these guys?
00:03:34.000 I need some introductory ads.
00:03:36.000 Probably if they drop a billion dollars introducing me to Joe Biden, maybe then I'll think, like, everyone knows what they think of these candidates.
00:03:43.000 But the Biden delusional memo continues.
00:03:46.000 I have some questions.
00:03:46.000 First of all, I can tell this isn't an internal memo and that it is directed solely at outside consumption because it's just filled with crap.
00:03:50.000 of the stark choice they will be confronted with in November
00:03:53.000 between President Biden, who remains laser focused on delivering for the American people,
00:03:57.000 while running on a historically popular record of accomplishment.
00:04:00.000 I have some questions.
00:04:01.000 And Donald Trump, who's failed record and dark vision for this country is as dangerous
00:04:04.000 as it is unpopular with the voters who will decide this election.
00:04:07.000 Okay, so first of all, I can tell this isn't an internal memo and that it is directed solely
00:04:10.000 at outside consumption because it's just filled with crap.
00:04:13.000 When they say that Joe Biden is laser focused, only in the sense that a cat is focused laser-like
00:04:19.000 on you know like an actual pinpoint of laser on the wall.
00:04:23.000 Joe Biden is not laser-focused on anything except his oatmeal, and that only between the time that his oatmeal reaches the bowl and the time that his spoon hits the oatmeal.
00:04:32.000 Between there and his mouth, things go totally haywire.
00:04:35.000 We'll get to more on this in just one moment.
00:04:37.000 First, let's say you were a duke of an intergalactic house, and one day your emperor decided to give you an additional desert planet to rule.
00:04:43.000 Well, you'd probably think, that sounds like an amazing gift.
00:04:45.000 Wrong you are, because that same emperor decided to blindside you and murder you in your sleep.
00:04:49.000 Pretty sure Duke Leto really wished he had some life insurance the moment that hunter-seeker pierced his body.

00:05:46.000 Meanwhile, when they say that Joe Biden is running on a historically popular record
00:05:50.000 of accomplishment, I would love to see some polling that bears that out.
00:05:53.000 National polling eight months out confirms what we know to be true.
00:05:56.000 This will be a very close general election contest, like all modern presidential elections are, but we have a clear path to victory, say the members of Biden's campaign.
00:06:03.000 Beyond Donald Trump's demonstrated inability to expand his appeal beyond the MAGA base, that is not true, actually, which this memo covers in detail below, upwards of 10% of voters remain undecided, much larger than the current margin between Trump and Biden in polling.
00:06:15.000 So they're now counting on everybody who's counting as undecided to vote in favor of Joe Biden.
00:06:19.000 Good luck with that!
00:06:21.000 I think that that is very large scale wishful thinking.
00:06:24.000 That's a bunch of people who don't want to say they're voting for Trump.
00:06:26.000 I would bet that independents in this election cycle, if the election were held today, would vote for Trump.
00:06:29.000 They'd break for Trump.
00:06:31.000 Those voters are highly supportive of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration, like protecting abortion access, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and defending the Affordable Care Act.
00:06:39.000 Yeah, because there are so many people right now I've talked to, and you've talked to, so many voters who are deeply worried about Obamacare at this point.
00:06:46.000 These undecided voters are also the least tuned in to politics of any group.
00:06:49.000 Heading into Super Tuesday, 31% of all voters said they are not even certain Trump will be the Republican nominee, so they are counting on the ignorant voters to carry them through.
00:06:57.000 Well, again, I don't think that's going to work.
00:07:00.000 So they say, here are the key questions that everyone should be asking, quote, which candidate is consolidating their coalition?
00:07:06.000 The answer there is actually Donald Trump, not Joe Biden.
00:07:08.000 Joe Biden's got real coalitional problems.
00:07:10.000 Moderates in his coalition do not like the radicals.
00:07:11.000 The radicals do not like the moderates.
00:07:14.000 Which candidate is amassing the resources and building the infrastructure necessary to run a modern campaign that reaches the voters who will decide this election?
00:07:20.000 This is where Democrats really do have an advantage.
00:07:22.000 The RNC has done a piss poor job of trying to arrange resource allocation, raising money and spending it in order to actually get people out.
00:07:31.000 To vote on the day of the election, going and picking up ballots in places where ballot harvesting is legal.
00:07:34.000 Democrats do have an advantage there, and Republicans do need to pour money into that.
00:07:38.000 Not into Trump's legal issues.
00:07:39.000 They need to be pouring money into all of the get-out-the-vote efforts that Democrats are pouring money into.
00:07:45.000 Most importantly, which candidate has a winning agenda and a winning track record at the ballot box?
00:07:49.000 For each and every one of these questions, they say the answer is the same.
00:07:52.000 Joe Biden.
00:07:53.000 Joe Biden is the only candidate in history who has beaten Donald Trump, and he will do so again.
00:07:57.000 Well, I mean, pretty small sample size.
00:07:59.000 I mean, like he ran once and he won once.
00:08:03.000 I wouldn't call that quite dispositive.
00:08:05.000 And then they say that Joe Biden is consolidating his coalition because he has strong support in diverse states with black, Latino, white working class and suburban voters.
00:08:15.000 He's under polling with all of them.
00:08:17.000 And then they look at the actual primary states and say that he's doing like an amazing job and he's running unopposed.
00:08:24.000 Donald Trump's primary performances, says the Biden campaign, are a major warning sign for the GOP and an opportunity for President Biden to expand his coalition.
00:08:30.000 Trump heads into the general election unable to expand his support beyond the hardcore MAGA base, and they just are citing Nikki Haley.
00:08:36.000 Well, the problem is, a huge percentage of Nikki Haley voters were Democrats who crossed over to vote in open primaries.
00:08:42.000 So again, this is a lot of wishful thinking on the part of Team Biden.
00:08:47.000 I don't think that that's true either.
00:08:48.000 Because again, the candidates are all known quantities.
00:08:49.000 and consolidate his support, today's media consumption is more fragmented
00:08:53.000 and personalized than ever.
00:08:54.000 For most Americans, the November election has not yet become a daily topic at the kitchen table.
00:08:59.000 I don't think that that's true either.
00:09:01.000 Because again, the candidates are all known quantities.
00:09:04.000 We know all of them.
00:09:05.000 And everybody who is not in the Biden campaign knows this.
00:09:08.000 Steve Kornacki, the pollster extraordinaire.
00:09:11.000 His poll analysis on MSNBC is actually quite good at his job, Steve Kornacki.
00:09:14.000 He points out that actually, if you're talking about who is coalescing the base, it is not Joe Biden, it is Donald Trump.
00:09:21.000 In the context of what we're seeing in the general election, the one who has the issue right now with the base is more Biden than Trump.
00:09:28.000 Because this is from the New York Times poll.
00:09:30.000 They asked folks, hey, you voted for Trump in 2020, are you still with Donald Trump?
00:09:36.000 97% of his 2020 voters say they're still with him.
00:09:39.000 Ask Biden's 2020 voters, are you still with Biden?
00:09:42.000 The number's 85% there.
00:09:44.000 So at least right now in the general election polling, it's Trump who's taking more from Biden's voters than Biden who's taking from Trump's voters.
00:09:52.000 Not just that, in the primaries, people who are voting for Trump say they are excited not just to vote against Biden, they are excited to vote for Trump.
00:09:59.000 Joe Biden's voters, no one is excited to vote for Joe Biden.
00:10:01.000 They're only excited to vote against Donald Trump.
00:10:03.000 That's kind of a problem for him.
00:10:05.000 Speaking of coalescing at the base, even people who are considered anti-Trump Republicans, people like Mitch McConnell, How do you reconcile your Trump endorsement with the fact that you called him practically and morally responsible for January 6th and the fact that he insulted you and your wife repeatedly?
00:10:28.000 On February the 25th, 2021, shortly after the attack on the Capitol, I was asked a similar question.
00:10:38.000 And I said I would support the nominee for president, even if it were the former president.
00:10:47.000 Mr. McConnell, in April of last year, you indicated and didn't really directly answer the question as to whether or not you were comfortable with Mr. Trump if he was in the middle of criminal trials and indictments and he was the nominee.
00:11:00.000 I presume that means you're comfortable with him.
00:11:02.000 I don't have anything to add to what I just said.
00:11:05.000 I said in February of 2021, shortly after the attack on the Capitol.
00:11:11.000 That I would support President Trump if he were the nominee of our party, and he obviously is going to be the nominee of our party.
00:11:18.000 Okay, that is Mitch McConnell saying the obvious.
00:11:21.000 If you've got Mitch McConnell behind you and you're the Republican Party, you ain't gonna have a problem turning out the base.
00:11:25.000 You're not gonna have a problem with the coalescing of the Republican Party.
00:11:28.000 The same is not true for Democrats.
00:11:30.000 And as for those moderate voters, Joe Biden is the one who has been alienating them by moving toward people like Bernie Sanders.
00:11:36.000 Bernie keeps threatening Joe Biden from his left.
00:11:39.000 According to the Washington Post, in a meeting in the Oval Office last fall with Biden and senior White House aides, Bernie Sanders quoted from a speech delivered by FDR in one of the most successful Democratic presidential re-election campaigns of the last 100 years.
00:11:50.000 Pointing to a portrait of Roosevelt that hangs above the Oval Office's fireplace, Sanders cited Roosevelt's 1936 remarks at Madison Square Garden emphasizing the extent of elite business opposition to the New Deal.
00:12:02.000 And then he suggested that Joe Biden needs to run as FDR.
00:12:07.000 That he has to affirm the public's frustration over the economy and focus on identifying the political opposition to enacting the president's agenda like big business and big pharma.
00:12:15.000 If Joe Biden is relying on electoral victory?
00:12:18.000 For advice from Bernie Sanders, good luck to you, sir.
00:12:22.000 Now, of course, the biggest problem for Joe Biden is that he is personally a deeply unattractive candidate.
00:12:26.000 Not only do most people think that he is not sympathetic and that he is manipulative, which is a big difference from 2020.
00:12:31.000 In 2020, he was sort of the benevolent old fellow who didn't really know what he was doing.
00:12:36.000 He was kind of a fuddy-duddy, but at heart, a nice guy.
00:12:40.000 And now, He has been exposed as somebody who is willing to do pretty much anything for political gain.
00:12:46.000 Label his political opposition enemies of the state.
00:12:49.000 He's somebody who will go to funerals for other people's children and then claim that his son died in Iraq.
00:12:55.000 And he'll use that as an excuse for pretty much everything.
00:12:58.000 He's somebody who has engaged in corruption for decades with members of his own family.
00:13:03.000 And more than anything else, the man is just not with us.
00:13:06.000 That is a major problem.
00:13:07.000 It is a major problem.
00:13:09.000 Donald Trump is old, but Donald Trump is still energetic.
00:13:11.000 Joe Biden is old, and Joe Biden is not alive anymore.
00:13:15.000 And this is going to be a continuing problem.
00:13:17.000 And so basically, Democrats have two choices, both of them unpalatable, with regard to Joe Biden.
00:13:21.000 Choice number one is to just whistle past the literal graveyard at this point, pretend everything is fine.
00:13:26.000 That is choice being taken by Joe Scarborough.
00:13:28.000 We'll get to more on this in just one second.
00:13:30.000 First, it is no secret that our healthcare system is a subject of considerable debate.
00:13:33.000 And if you've watched the news, you know that U.S.
00:13:35.000 pharmacies are not only running out of basic antibiotics, but the current wait time to see a doctor could be up to a month.
00:13:40.000 Well, I can't imagine a more helpless feeling than somebody in my family getting sick while a supply chain problem or doctor's waitlist kept them from getting the medication they need.
00:13:48.000 Thankfully, my family has a medical emergency kit from The Wellness Company.

00:14:26.000 So Joe Scarborough yesterday in full Baghdad Bob mode talking about how actually But comparing that guy's mental state?
00:14:34.000 I've said it for years now.
00:14:35.000 That dude is doing ham springs back at the White House.
00:14:38.000 You should see him.
00:14:39.000 I mean, it's like he can do an iron cross.
00:14:43.000 You see him on the rings, it's unreal, Joe Biden.
00:14:45.000 Here we go.
00:14:46.000 But comparing that guy's mental state, I've said it for years now, he's cogent.
00:14:53.000 But I undersold him when I said he was cogent.
00:14:57.000 He's far beyond cogent.
00:14:59.000 Wow.
00:14:59.000 In fact, I think he's better than he's ever been.
00:15:02.000 Ever?
00:15:03.000 Intellectually.
00:15:04.000 Wow.
00:15:06.000 Analytically.
00:15:08.000 Because he's been around for 50 years.
00:15:11.000 And, you know, I don't know if people know this or not, Biden used to be a hothead.
00:15:16.000 Sometimes that Irishman would get in front of the reasoning.
00:15:20.000 Sometimes he would say things he didn't want to say.
00:15:23.000 This is...
00:15:25.000 And you know what?
00:15:26.000 I don't really care.
00:15:28.000 Start your tape right now, because I'm about to tell you the truth.
00:15:32.000 And F you if you can't handle the truth.
00:15:36.000 This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever.
00:15:44.000 Not a close second.
00:15:46.000 And I've known him for years.
00:15:47.000 The Brzezinskis have known him for 50 years.
00:15:50.000 If it weren't the truth, I wouldn't say it.
00:15:53.000 You might say it, because it's not true.
00:15:56.000 If this is the best version of Joe Biden, what is the worst version of Joe Biden look like?
00:16:01.000 Exactly.
00:16:02.000 I mean, the guy can't even say full sentences anymore.
00:16:07.000 He walks into walls.
00:16:08.000 He has no idea where he is half the time.
00:16:12.000 Also, side note, Joe Scarborough increasingly looks like Where's Waldo, but that's a side point.
00:16:17.000 Or you could be Joy Reid.
00:16:18.000 So the memo has gone out.
00:16:19.000 MSNBC is just going to say the thing.
00:16:21.000 They're going to say the reason that Joe Biden looks old and is old is not because he's old.
00:16:26.000 It's because he's actually unbelievable at the job.
00:16:28.000 That Joe Scarborough clip is pretty insane.
00:16:31.000 Joy Reid tries to match him point for point here.
00:16:33.000 She says the reason that Joe Biden looks old is because he's working so darn hard.
00:16:38.000 It's because he's it's not because he's 81 years old, which is kind of old.
00:16:41.000 It's because he's working so hard at being president, so hard that he calls a lid at 1130 every morning and then proceeds to wander around the White House in his bathrobe trying to grab his dog's tail because look, a doggie.
00:16:55.000 And then he falls over occasionally.
00:16:57.000 And then they bring him his dinner from Denny's.
00:17:00.000 And then they shovel him off to bed.
00:17:01.000 And in the morning, the night nurse comes in.
00:17:03.000 She cleans up the bed.
00:17:04.000 She redoes the covers.
00:17:06.000 They stick him full of something.
00:17:07.000 He goes out there.
00:17:08.000 He goes, and then a lid.
00:17:13.000 So here's the real reason he looks old, guys, is because he's just he's efforting so hard, so much effort.
00:17:19.000 Donald Trump had one job.
00:17:20.000 He had one crisis.
00:17:22.000 He's saying, oh, all of these things were perfect.
00:17:24.000 You had one crisis, bruh.
00:17:26.000 It was called the pandemic.
00:17:27.000 And you know what you did?
00:17:28.000 You bollocksed it completely.
00:17:30.000 You did so poorly at managing your sole crisis.
00:17:34.000 The one hard thing you did, the reason he doesn't look old like Biden looks older, the presidency ages you when you do the job.
00:17:41.000 Obama went gray because he was doing the work.
00:17:44.000 Donald Trump looks the same as when he ran because he was playing golf the whole time.
00:17:48.000 Oh, that's what happened.
00:17:50.000 That's what happened.
00:17:51.000 I mean, also, Barack Obama was in the White House for eight years and was much younger when he started.
00:17:56.000 So, I mean, people sort of age incrementally.
00:17:58.000 As they get older, they hit a certain age and they sort of look kind of the same because they're kind of old.
00:18:03.000 Yeah, that's just the way that it is.
00:18:04.000 But like, it's because Joe Biden's working hard that he's old.
00:18:08.000 That's weird.
00:18:08.000 Because I know a bunch of people who are exactly Joe Biden's age and are way more with it than Joe Biden.
00:18:14.000 One of the beauties of going to my synagogue is that there's a lot of intergenerational contact, like people who are my age go out to lunch with people who are 80.
00:18:21.000 And I gotta tell ya, I know a dozen people who are 81 years old who are way more with it than Joe Biden is at this point.
00:18:27.000 So, that is strategy number one for the Democrats, is pretend actually everything is fine.
00:18:30.000 The other strategy is the Hillary Clinton strategy, and...
00:18:33.000 I know, this is the first time I'm ever gonna say this.
00:18:34.000 Points for honesty to Hillary Clinton.
00:18:36.000 She says, yeah, he's old, but, you know, you gotta go with him.
00:18:39.000 This, by the way, is the proper Democratic argument.
00:18:41.000 It's the same argument they made about John Fetterman.
00:18:43.000 The basic argument is this.
00:18:44.000 Sure, the brain don't work good.
00:18:46.000 But, you know, the alternative is worse.
00:18:48.000 That's actually Democrats' best argument here, because they certainly cannot keep talking about how Joe Biden is super with it.
00:18:55.000 Somebody the other day said to me, Zerlina, well, but, you know, Joe Biden's old.
00:19:01.000 I said, you know what?
00:19:02.000 Joe Biden is old.
00:19:03.000 Let's let's let's go ahead and accept the reality.
00:19:07.000 Joe Biden is old.
00:19:08.000 So really pick between your two old ones and figure out how you're going to save our democracy.
00:19:16.000 OK, so that at least is an angle.
00:19:19.000 But Joe Biden won't take that angle because, again, the thing about Joe Biden is he actually still thinks he's a spring chicken.
00:19:24.000 Literally last week, he suggested that he is with Jill Biden and they have a great marriage because of the sex.
00:19:30.000 And every single person in human contact began to vomit.
00:19:37.000 It was an amazing, I mean, he has that effect on people, but that, I mean, we didn't need to hear about Joe's sex life.
00:19:43.000 By the way, I don't believe him.
00:19:44.000 That prostate gave out long ago.
00:19:45.000 In any case, Donald Trump is obviously going to challenge Joe Biden on this front, and so today, he came out and he said that he wants a primary debate with Joe Biden.
00:19:54.000 He tweeted, quote, It is important for the good of our country that Joe Biden and I debate issues that are so
00:19:57.000 vital to America and the American people.
00:19:59.000 Therefore, I'm calling for debates anytime, anywhere, anyplace.
00:20:01.000 Debates can be run by the corrupt DNC or their subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates.
00:20:05.000 I look forward to receiving a response.
00:20:07.000 Thanks for your attention to this matter.
00:20:09.000 So the fact that that Donald Trump is like, I don't care, anytime, anyplace, anyone doesn't matter.
00:20:17.000 In front of a doghouse, in front of the Four Seasons Gardening and Lawn Club, don't care.
00:20:21.000 Anywhere.
00:20:22.000 That's because Donald Trump is working under the correct assumption that even a mild juxtaposition between him saying sentences and Joe Biden saying sentences will not end well for Joe Biden.

00:21:32.000 Rules and restrictions may apply.
00:21:34.000 You know who's working under the same supposition?
00:21:36.000 The Biden campaign.
00:21:36.000 Here's Corine Jean-Pierre asked specifically about whether Joe Biden would debate Donald Trump.
00:21:40.000 Now, of course, it's not gonna happen.
00:21:41.000 There's no way in hell.
00:21:43.000 And frankly, I'm kind of surprised that she doesn't just say that.
00:21:46.000 That she doesn't just say, and it is the position of this campaign, that Donald Trump is an insurrectionist and we don't debate insurrectionists.
00:21:52.000 Or we don't debate people who have actually had civil judgments against them for rape.
00:21:56.000 Or like, there are a thousand lines she could use and instead, they're just gonna keep pretending that they don't know the answer to this when everyone knows the answer to it.
00:22:03.000 Is President Biden going to commit to a debate with Donald Trump?
00:22:07.000 That's something for the campaign to speak to.
00:22:09.000 Well, we know when the debates are going to be.
00:22:13.000 We know where they're going to be.
00:22:16.000 Is he going to go?
00:22:18.000 You should speak to the campaign.
00:22:20.000 In 2020, once it got down to one-on-one, Joe Biden said, I can hardly wait to debate him.
00:22:27.000 How about now?
00:22:28.000 I'm going to sound like a broken record.
00:22:30.000 You should reach out to the campaign.
00:22:32.000 Okay, that is not just a campaign question.
00:22:34.000 That's a question of presidential scheduling.
00:22:36.000 They're not asking about Donald Trump's political chances.
00:22:40.000 They're asking whether Joe Biden will show up to a debate, which is a presidential question as well as a campaign question.
00:22:46.000 And then, Karine Jean-Pierre has asked, you know, the president has notecards for pretty much everything.
00:22:49.000 Like, you may notice this.
00:22:51.000 Every so often, they'll catch him on screen and he'll be holding a notecard and there'll be a zoom into the notecard and it will say, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, because Joe Biden has to be informed on every basic matter in his life.
00:23:05.000 So a reporter asks her, she's like, are you getting on his case because he uses notecards?
00:23:08.000 Well, yeah, because he does it for like every single human thing, every human activity.
00:23:14.000 Now listen, I know about being cute.
00:23:17.000 Right.
00:23:17.000 My schedule is a mess.
00:23:19.000 I have an assistant, Kelly, who basically makes sure that I take out the garbage.
00:23:22.000 That's not quite the same thing as if I went on the show every single day with a set of note cards, and then I was like, Oh, no.
00:23:28.000 Yeah.
00:23:29.000 Here we go.
00:23:35.000 Why does the president rely so heavily on notecards?
00:23:37.000 You're upset because the president has notecards?
00:23:39.000 Yes.
00:23:39.000 You're asking me a question about the president having notecards?
00:23:42.000 Yes.
00:23:42.000 I'm asking why does he rely so heavily?
00:23:43.000 The president has had a probably one of the most successful first three years of an administration than any modern day president.
00:23:52.000 That's your response?
00:23:54.000 You, how dare you ask about the fact that the President of the United States is senile?
00:23:59.000 Are you saying that this man, this magnificent human specimen, that this virile man, that this example of human powerhouse Qualities?
00:24:12.000 This man?
00:24:13.000 You're saying?
00:24:14.000 Yeah, that's what we're asking.
00:24:15.000 We're asking about the notecards.
00:24:16.000 Yes.
00:24:19.000 The righteous indignation about basic, basic questions like why does the president read off notecards and why can't he read?
00:24:25.000 Those ones are pretty easy.
00:24:26.000 So, all of this stacks up for it's gonna be a fascinating State of the Union tonight.
00:24:30.000 Who's ready for a State of the Union?
00:24:32.000 So here is my obligatory 30-second rip on the State of the Union.
00:24:35.000 I hate the State of the Union.
00:24:36.000 It's monarchic crap.
00:24:37.000 There's no reason that the legislature, which is a co-equal, and in fact, under the Constitution, predominant branch in American government in terms of legislation, should kowtow to the president.
00:24:46.000 Where no matter who the president is, he walks in and everybody grips and grins and does a picture with him and they all do weird smiles and then they stand up and they clap and then they sit down as though We're at some sort of strange rock concert where half of the concert is populated by a cult worshipping the rock star and the other half of the concert just hates them.
00:25:04.000 Hates them.
00:25:05.000 It's so stupid.
00:25:05.000 The whole thing is dumb.
00:25:07.000 And then everybody has their guests up in the balcony and we pretend that we care who the guests are.
00:25:10.000 Oh, look, the president is calling on Randall McJones over there.
00:25:13.000 Randall, Randall, stand up and explain.
00:25:16.000 Hi, Randall's a good plumber.
00:25:18.000 He's a hell of a plumber, Randall.
00:25:20.000 Randall, take a... And we do that for like eight hours.
00:25:24.000 OK, but With that out of the way, I will say that I'm looking forward to the State of the Union.
00:25:29.000 Why, you may ask?
00:25:31.000 Because it's going to be amusing.
00:25:33.000 It's going to be amusing.
00:25:35.000 He's going to say a bunch of dumb stuff.
00:25:36.000 He's going to say a bunch of dumb stuff about politics.
00:25:38.000 It's not going to make any sense.
00:25:39.000 He's going to give you a giant list of things that he wants to do.
00:25:42.000 Honey, on a cure kit, if we stick together and we try really, really hard, we can cure cancer with a moonshot!
00:25:51.000 He's used that in every single State of the Union address of his presidency and every speech before that.
00:25:56.000 And then you're gonna get him talking about, all the corporations, all the corporations, you know, you don't get fewer chips in your bag of chips.
00:26:03.000 Let me tell you, when I open that Lay's potato chips, I want every chip in there.
00:26:08.000 Not seven chips, nine chips.
00:26:10.000 We'll get some of that.
00:26:11.000 We'll get some of the, I have presided over the most job creation in American history, if you don't count the part where, you know, we had a giant panda.
00:26:19.000 And inflation is good!
00:26:20.000 It's gonna be a lot of that, but what are we all watching for?
00:26:23.000 We're watching to see whether he lives.
00:26:26.000 So this is high- This is high-stakes stuff, guys.
00:26:30.000 Because basically, we are watching the political version of Saw.
00:26:36.000 He's down in the basement.
00:26:37.000 He's chained down there.
00:26:39.000 It's gonna end real poorly.
00:26:39.000 I don't quite know how it's gonna end real poorly.
00:26:42.000 Is he going to escape?
00:26:43.000 Is he gonna gnaw off his own political leg?
00:26:44.000 What's it gonna be?
00:26:46.000 What happens if the teleprompter goes on the fritz?
00:26:49.000 You want to end his presidency?
00:26:51.000 All you need is one guy going after that plug and that's it.
00:26:55.000 You pull the plug on the teleprompter, you pull the plug on Joe Biden.
00:26:58.000 Can you imagine Joe Biden trying to riff for more than 27 seconds?
00:27:03.000 Woo!
00:27:04.000 So that's going to be the amusing part.
00:27:05.000 And so we're all going to be watching this on Tenterhooks.
00:27:08.000 I mean, it's the same feeling you have when you watch Joe Biden go up the stairs.
00:27:12.000 Now, listen, as a parent of four young children, 10, seven, four, and nine months,
00:27:17.000 let me tell you, I spend virtually all of my day when I am not on the air with the kids.
00:27:21.000 And that means that I spend an enormous amount of time trying to foresee obstacles to their physical health.
00:27:27.000 And because kids are little suicide machines, all they do is run into things.
00:27:30.000 If there's anything in a remote area that can harm them, they will be there in a second.
00:27:34.000 They're like, they're magnetically drawn to things that can harm them.
00:27:37.000 So I can spot threats like a mile off.
00:27:40.000 Like my kid is on a tall chair, and the kid starts like even remotely rocking that chair,
00:27:46.000 Because you know, you know, that, like Chekhov's gun, it will be, like, the chair will topple.
00:27:51.000 Somebody will get hurt.
00:27:52.000 You can spend your entire life guarding against that.
00:27:54.000 That's like watching the Joe Biden speech now.
00:27:56.000 I'm watching the Joe Biden speech, and I can see it coming.
00:27:58.000 I can see it coming, like a train down the tracks, bearing down on old Joe.
00:28:02.000 And that train is physical reality.
00:28:06.000 Will he have like a full-on two-minute just gaffe?
00:28:09.000 Where he just starts speaking in tongues?
00:28:11.000 Is he gonna go out there and start talking about his favorite episode of Mr. Rogers?
00:28:14.000 No one knows.
00:28:15.000 Is he gonna get up there and start jabbering about his sex life with Jill?
00:28:18.000 Could happen.
00:28:19.000 And frankly, I'm here for it.
00:28:21.000 This is the most suspenseful State of the Union address of my lifetime.
00:28:25.000 By far.
00:28:26.000 And I'm kind of looking forward to it, to be honest with you.
00:28:28.000 Good news is that you can watch it with us tonight, 8.30 p.m.
00:28:31.000 Eastern Time.
00:28:32.000 You can watch it.
00:28:33.000 We're going to be doing our backstage live.
00:28:35.000 And again, I will say there is only one way I think that Joe Biden can actually make the speech a success.
00:28:42.000 And no, it's not to take enormous amount of Hunter's cocaine.
00:28:45.000 I think the only way that he can actually make this a success is that at some point he's going to have to reach into his actual podium and then he's going to have to say, and I have something here for you.
00:28:53.000 Something that I think will change your day.
00:28:56.000 Cervezas Cristal!
00:28:59.000 That's the only way that this is gonna be good.
00:29:01.000 But!
00:29:02.000 I'm really... I am... I'll be honest!
00:29:05.000 You know?
00:29:06.000 I don't get my entertainment from politics, I take it too seriously, but!
00:29:09.000 If you can't see this for the comedy routine that it most definitely is, I pity you.
00:29:14.000 I pity the fool who can't see how ridiculous this is going to be.
00:29:18.000 We'll get to more on this in just one moment.
00:29:19.000 First, we all know the first thing we do when we get home from work is change out of those work clothes and jump into loungewear.
00:29:25.000 Well, luckily for me, I have Tommy John to come home to as I slip into my Tommy John loungewear set.
00:29:30.000 I'm immediately enveloped.

00:29:34.000 Not only is their loungewear cozy enough to use as sleepwear, well, if I have to walk to the park with my kids, I don't look like a schlub.
00:29:40.000 And guys, you might be wondering how these things can get any better.
00:29:43.000 Their underwear is the best.
00:29:44.000 I've been talking about this for years.
00:29:45.000 If you haven't tried them, you're missing out.

00:30:18.000 Okay, meanwhile, speaking of ridiculous people getting hit in the face by reality, Kathy Hochul is the governor of New York.
00:30:27.000 Remember that time that the New York Times went absolutely insane?
00:30:30.000 The entire staff, they went absolutely insane.
00:30:32.000 Because the New York Times in the middle of gigantic, historic, large riots in the middle of 2020.
00:30:36.000 Most damaging riots in terms of property damage in American history.
00:30:38.000 Two billion dollars in property damage.
00:30:40.000 You remember that Tom Cotton, the senator from Arkansas, he had the temerity to suggest that perhaps the National Guard should be called out to, you know, arrest people who are burning things down.
00:30:51.000 And everyone at the New York Times went nuts.
00:30:53.000 It was insane.
00:30:54.000 No, no, people will get killed.
00:30:55.000 We were told by people like Nikole Hannah-Jones, that brilliant mind.
00:30:59.000 I'm being incredibly sarcastic right now.
00:31:01.000 Nikole Hannah-Jones is a dullard.
00:31:02.000 Nikole Hannah-Jones, the historical falsifier.
00:31:05.000 She's like, everybody in the New York Times, in the op-ed page, in the news page, they're like, this op-ed will get people killed.
00:31:11.000 People will die because you suggested that the National Guard be called on rioters.
00:31:16.000 That is unacceptable.
00:31:17.000 And James Bennett, who is the op-ed editor, he had to resign over it.
00:31:21.000 For the great sin of publishing the most commonsensical op-ed perhaps the New York Times has ever published.
00:31:26.000 I love, I still love, that the New York Times will print op-eds from like genocidal heads of Iran, from actual terrorists working for Hamas.
00:31:34.000 Tom Cotton writes an op-ed like, hey, you know guys, maybe like if the cops can't handle it, we should call the National Guard.
00:31:38.000 And everybody in the New York Times is like, no, no.
00:31:40.000 Well, now the chickens are coming home to roost, ain't they?
00:31:44.000 Because Kathy Hochul, the far-left governor of New York, She has now announced that she is going to deploy 750 members of the National Guard and 250 state and MTA police officers to the subways.
00:31:57.000 To the subways.
00:31:58.000 This is how bad things have got at the New York subways.
00:32:00.000 So it turns out that broken windows policing, which is if you have somebody jumping a turnstile, you arrest them.
00:32:05.000 And then you put them in jail for a long period of time.
00:32:08.000 And then people won't commit bigger crimes.
00:32:10.000 Broken windows theory, which was first promulgated by James Q. Wilson, he's a sociologist.
00:32:14.000 His basic theory is that if you have a neighborhood and a window is broken and not fixed, and the person who breaks the window is not arrested, soon there will be lots of broken windows, and then there will be property damage, and then there will be violent crime.
00:32:24.000 That, of course, is right.
00:32:25.000 New York, because it decided on no cash bail, just catch and release for criminals essentially, Because they decided they weren't even going to police at all, so-called minor crimes like jumping turnstiles.
00:32:37.000 Well, sooner or later, what you end up with is people getting pushed on the tracks in New York City.
00:32:40.000 And so now, Kathy Hochul has been forced to deploy the National Guard to the subway system of the biggest city in America, plus 250 state and MTA police officers to check bags.
00:32:51.000 You might call it stop and frisk.
00:32:53.000 That's what you might call it.
00:32:55.000 You might call it actually, you know, search and seizure.
00:32:59.000 You might call it that.
00:33:00.000 You could.
00:33:01.000 I mean, I was told that was racist.
00:33:02.000 I was told that that's because probably she hates black people.
00:33:04.000 That's the only explanation I can think of.
00:33:06.000 She clearly hates minorities.
00:33:07.000 That's why she's doing this.
00:33:09.000 So here was Kathy Hochul announcing this to the consternation of the New York Times.
00:33:15.000 So HOKL announced a five-point plan today, which includes deploying 750 National Guard soldiers and 250 New York State and transit officers to do random bag checks at the city's busiest transit stations, installing new cameras, including ones in conductor cabins, Proposing a bill to keep those who assault people off the subway, increasing coordination between district attorneys and police about repeat transit crime offenders, and expanding teams who are trained to help those dealing with a mental health crisis on the subway system.
00:33:47.000 Now, there's already pushback to these new changes.
00:33:49.000 Transit advocates say the bag searches are a waste of resources, and the NYCLU says black and brown New Yorkers will be targeted.
00:33:56.000 Governor Kathy Hochul says, though, if someone refuses a random bag check, they won't be riding the train.
00:34:02.000 They can refuse.
00:34:03.000 We can refuse them.
00:34:04.000 They can walk.
00:34:09.000 Whoa!
00:34:10.000 Kathy Hochul, welcome to the Republican Party!
00:34:14.000 Woo!
00:34:14.000 Look at that fascist lady!
00:34:16.000 She's a white fascist, she is.
00:34:17.000 That's what I heard from the New York Times.
00:34:19.000 We're gonna get into more of the insane hypocrisy of the New York governor.
00:34:23.000 Plus, San Francisco is no longer a progressive city, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, so it's fun to watch as the consequences of all bad policy come home to roost.
00:34:31.000 We'll get to that momentarily.
00:34:32.000 First, folks, as we just discussed, tonight, the Daily Wire backstage, it happened.
00:34:37.000 Matt Walsh, Michael Knowles, Andrew Clavin, Jeremy Boring, and I will be watching and reacting live to the 2024 State of the Union on Daily Wire+.
00:34:45.000 We'll be breaking down the State of the Union as it happens.
00:34:47.000 We'll be answering your questions live, including whether there's a defibrillator on hand for the President of the United States.
00:34:54.000 It's an experience you won't find anywhere else.
00:34:55.000 Watch it all live tonight, 8 30 p.m.
00:34:57.000 Eastern on the Daily Wire app and dailywire.com.
00:35:00.000 OK, meanwhile.
00:35:01.000 So again, the state of New York is now deploying the National Guard to shut down the crime.
00:35:06.000 Now, you might think that they could have, you know, allowed the police to do that.
00:35:09.000 But no, that's silly.
00:35:10.000 No, no, no.
00:35:11.000 They're going to send state troops down to police over there.
00:35:15.000 And presumably, the members of the New York Times will lose their ever-loving mind over all of this.
00:35:19.000 Beside bag checks, the five initiatives include a $20 million plan to beef up the number of clinical teams responding to people in mental distress on subways from 2 to 10 system-wide.
00:35:29.000 Wait, hold up.
00:35:30.000 Wait, so there's going to be $20 million for 10 teams to respond to system-wide distress?
00:35:38.000 I mean, I may not be an expert at math.
00:35:40.000 How big are those teams?
00:35:41.000 That's a lot of money.
00:35:43.000 My goodness.
00:35:44.000 Another of Hochul's five initiatives is her support of the MTA's plan to install surveillance cameras inside conductor and train operator cabs.
00:35:49.000 Surveillance cameras?
00:35:51.000 No, that can't be okay.
00:35:53.000 I mean, what about privacy concerns for people who are peeing in the subway stations?
00:35:57.000 I mean, I've been told by the left that all this is bad, and if Rudy Giuliani were doing any of it, he would be a fascist.
00:36:01.000 Or if Michael Bloomberg were doing any of it, he would be a fascist.
00:36:03.000 But Kathy Hochul is doing it, and we know she's good because she's a Democrat.
00:36:06.000 That's the way this works.
00:36:08.000 All of this is a direct response to the slashing of an MTA conductor named Alton Scott, who narrowly survived a random assault last week when he stuck his head out of his cab as his train stopped at a Brooklyn subway station.
00:36:20.000 So he stuck his head out and someone slashed his neck.
00:36:23.000 Which is like, New York, man, place where dreams come true.
00:36:26.000 If you can make it there, you literally can make it anywhere, because you have to survive.
00:36:32.000 Apparently.
00:36:33.000 Transit Brass declined to comment on Wednesday how many stations might need upgrades to their camera coverage citing security concerns.
00:36:38.000 They don't even want to say how many places are lacking cameras.
00:36:40.000 They're afraid the criminals are going to go over there.
00:36:42.000 They're also going to hire a new criminal justice advocate to assist the victims of crime in the system and develop a system to flag recidivist offenders to district attorneys, which is like all of them.
00:36:53.000 So I'm pleased to see that reality has finally hit Kathy Hochul.
00:36:56.000 And again, all credit to Tom Cotton, who's a very bad man because he is a Republican.
00:37:00.000 But all credit to Kathy Hochul.
00:37:02.000 She's obviously just trying to keep the peace.
00:37:03.000 Meanwhile, the city of San Francisco has been hit by reality as well.
00:37:08.000 And it's hilarious.
00:37:09.000 I'm into it.
00:37:10.000 So the San Francisco Chronicle had an actual headline today titled, Voters Make It Clear That San Francisco Can No Longer Be Called A Progressive City.
00:37:21.000 Oh no.
00:37:22.000 Be still my beating heart.
00:37:23.000 What happened?
00:37:23.000 Well, I'll tell you what happened.
00:37:25.000 According to Politico, the liberal bastion of San Francisco pivoted rightward in Tuesday's election as voters responded to ongoing drug homelessness and crime crises by approving policies that bolster police and require drug screening for welfare recipients.
00:37:38.000 Wait, did I get elected Mayor of San Francisco and I didn't know it?
00:37:41.000 That's weird.
00:37:42.000 They're all the policies I've been recommending for literally decades at this point.
00:37:46.000 The result represents a major victory for embattled Mayor London Breed, a moderate Democrat who faces a tough fight for a second full term in November.
00:37:53.000 She hitched her political future to a slate of three ballot measures that aim to move a city struggling with its slow post-pandemic recovery in a strikingly more conservative direction.
00:38:02.000 So voters approved all three of her measures, including her proposal to screen and mandate addiction treatment for people receiving county welfare.
00:38:07.000 So that's right.
00:38:08.000 She's not going to drug test you before the city cuts you a check, which used to be like baseline Republican policy.
00:38:15.000 And Democrats who wish to win victory are now embracing those policies.
00:38:19.000 So here is the question.
00:38:20.000 Will Joe Biden do the same on a national level?
00:38:22.000 Because it turns out even Democrats don't like living in hell holes like the New York City subway system or the streets of San Francisco.
00:38:28.000 They don't like it at all.
00:38:31.000 London Breed took what we want San Francisco to be exactly what the people who live here want to see.
00:38:34.000 That is a safe, affordable place to call home.
00:38:37.000 Well, all that's going to require is you to stop being a far-left crazy person.
00:38:40.000 And it seems as though even the San Francisco voters are beginning to realize that.
00:38:45.000 Besides the drug screening requirement, London Breed proposed expanding police officers' authority to chase suspects and to use drones and video surveillance.
00:38:51.000 She also joined pro-development advocates to back waiving a local tax for developers who convert office buildings into housing.
00:38:57.000 Wait, wait, she's relieving housing regulations and lowering taxes?
00:39:02.000 So she took them directly to voters.
00:39:03.000 Critics attribute her move to the right to desperation amid dismal approval ratings and a growing field of mayoral challengers.
00:39:10.000 They accused her of trying to turn the city of peace and love into a city catering to the interests of the wealthy.
00:39:15.000 I was aware that poor people loved crime and drug use, but apparently that's something that people in San Francisco think.
00:39:20.000 So congratulations to San Francisco on meeting with reality.
00:39:25.000 That's exciting stuff.
00:39:26.000 Now, meanwhile, again, the administration continues to refuse to meet with reality.
00:39:31.000 When it comes to the latest with regard to the Middle East, the United States government continues to promote this idea that a ceasefire is just around the corner if only Hamas will see reason.
00:39:41.000 Spoiler alert, they won't.
00:39:43.000 They're a terrorist group.
00:39:44.000 They seek Palestinian suffering because they think that they will find useful idiots in the West willing to run cover for them to retain power the more suffering they achieve.
00:39:52.000 That's the math here.
00:39:53.000 Israel does not wish to maximize Palestinian suffering.
00:39:56.000 They wish to maximize Hamas death.
00:39:59.000 They wish to depose Hamas in the Gaza Strip and replace that with something that is not a terrorist entity hell-bent on destroying the state of Israel.
00:40:08.000 And Hamas has a different agenda.
00:40:10.000 Hamas's agenda is to get as many Palestinians killed as humanly possible so that the West will then say to Israel to stop.
00:40:17.000 And then Hamas can retain its position in the Gaza Strip and hopefully maximize its position also in the West Bank.
00:40:22.000 That is literally Hamas's agenda.
00:40:24.000 That's why it's so bizarre.
00:40:25.000 The West is like, why won't Hamas sign on to it?
00:40:27.000 Maybe because their strategic interest dictates they not sign on to a ceasefire.
00:40:31.000 A ceasefire is bad for Hamas.
00:40:33.000 Because a ceasefire means that the pressure ratchets down on Biden from the West, from the left-wingers, and it ratchets down on Israel from the left-wingers during a ceasefire.
00:40:42.000 And then Israel builds up again, and then they go into Rafah and they finish this thing off.
00:40:46.000 So Hamas does not want a ceasefire, actually.
00:40:49.000 Hamas wants to retain the hostages so they can use them as leverage.
00:40:53.000 Plus they're probably continually raping many of them.
00:40:55.000 And many of them are already dead.
00:40:57.000 There are still six American citizens who are being held hostage by Hamas.
00:41:01.000 And yet the Biden administration continues to trot out this bizarre line that somehow Israel has to fight the war nicer.
00:41:07.000 They have to fight the war just, it has to be a nicer war.
00:41:10.000 There needs to be some way of getting humanitarian aid in there.
00:41:12.000 Well, Israel is shipping in more aid now than they did before October 7th.
00:41:16.000 They're now shipping in something like 300 trucks a day into the Gaza Strip or making available those trucks.
00:41:22.000 No one wants to drive in there.
00:41:23.000 I wonder why?
00:41:24.000 Why wouldn't anyone want to drive into the Gaza Strip?
00:41:25.000 After all, it's filled with nice, decent Palestinian civilians and Hamas fellow travelers who will most certainly be kind and gentle to the drivers of the trucks or they might kill them and steal the aid.
00:41:40.000 It could be that.
00:41:42.000 So the Biden administration continues to put the pressure on Israel, mainly because they feel that they won't be able to put pressure on Hamas.
00:41:47.000 And so that, of course, gives Hamas every reason in the world to be as intransigent as they want to be.
00:41:52.000 According to the New York Times, talks between Israel and Hamas over the release of dozens of Israeli hostages have stalled, dimming hopes that a deal could be reached before Ramadan begins in a few days.
00:41:59.000 Again, this whole timeline of, well, we better stop this thing before Ramadan.
00:42:04.000 Wouldn't want any fighting during Ramadan.
00:42:06.000 Well, we can't.
00:42:07.000 It's like Dr. Strangelove.
00:42:09.000 We can't fight in here, this is the war room!
00:42:12.000 Oh, you mean the Islamic holiday of Ramadan?
00:42:15.000 Wow.
00:42:15.000 That radical Muslims consider to be not only extremely holy, but so holy that no one may do anything except for them if they're killing Jews or something.
00:42:24.000 Clearly, Ramadan is the dividing line.
00:42:27.000 That's where things have to stop dead.
00:42:29.000 Negotiators had been discussing a proposal for an initial six-week ceasefire, during which Hamas would release about 40 people, including women, elderly, and ill hostages, and five female Israeli soldiers, for a substantial number of Palestinian prisoners.
00:42:40.000 The discussions included terms for releasing at least 15 prisoners convicted of serious acts of terrorism, who would be exchanged for the female soldiers.
00:42:47.000 The terms also said Israel would release hundreds of other detainees or prisoners, an average of 10 Palestinians, for every Israeli civilian freed.
00:42:54.000 These are the terms Hamas turned down.
00:42:56.000 So Hamas was going to get back 400 terrorists for 40 hostages who are innocent.
00:43:02.000 And they turned it down.
00:43:04.000 And they turned it down because they want more Palestinians to die because they think the more pressure they keep on Joe Biden, the more he's going to pressure Israel.
00:43:09.000 It's that simple.
00:43:11.000 American officials had said they hoped to put an agreement in place to release some hostages.
00:43:16.000 To do that before Ramadan.
00:43:17.000 But in recent days, Hamas has backed away from the proposed agreement and made demands that Israel refuses to meet.
00:43:22.000 Well, yes, because those demands include things like end the war.
00:43:26.000 Israel isn't going to leave Hamas in place.
00:43:27.000 No government in Israel, left, right or center, could leave Hamas in place.
00:43:30.000 Meanwhile, the Houthis continue to up the ante because, as it turns out, the United States' desultory attempts to stop the Houthis by hitting a few camels in the ass in the middle of Yemen has been unavailing in stopping this ragtag group of terrorists from
00:43:46.000 firing on ships.
00:43:47.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, three people on board a Barbados flagship died.
00:43:51.000 Clearly, they hate just Jews, right? They hit a Barbados flagship
00:43:54.000 after it was struck in an attack claimed by the Houthis, according to the U.S. military.
00:43:58.000 The boat carrier True Confidence caught fire after being hit early Wednesday local time by a missile
00:44:03.000 as it sailed 50 nautical miles southwest of Aden, forcing the crew to abandon ship.
00:44:07.000 Three people were killed in the attack.
00:44:08.000 At least four were injured, including three who were in critical condition, according to U.S.
00:44:12.000 CENTCOM.
00:44:14.000 The Iran-backed Houthis say they targeted the vessel because of what the group claimed was its U.S.
00:44:19.000 ownership.
00:44:21.000 There is, in fact, no U.S.
00:44:22.000 ownership.
00:44:23.000 It's not owned by the U.S.
00:44:26.000 The ship's managers, 3rd January Maritime of Greece and FML Ship Management of Cyprus, and its owner True Confidence Shipping of Liberia, was bringing Chinese steel products and trucks to Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and it was mostly manned by Filipinos.
00:44:38.000 Other workers on board were from India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
00:44:43.000 So, that's where we are now.
00:44:45.000 Iranian-backed terrorist groups are killing Asians aboard a Greek-flagged ship?
00:44:53.000 And they're doing so in order to hit the Israelis.
00:44:55.000 Or something.
00:44:58.000 Again, this is the second ship that they've now sunk.
00:44:59.000 A British-registered ship that was struck last month by the Houthis sank in the Red Sea in recent days, and that's causing a massive environmental disaster.
00:45:05.000 The environmentalists, of course, are nowhere to be found.
00:45:08.000 So clearly, the pressure needs to be brought on the Israelis.
00:45:10.000 Or something.
00:45:11.000 That, I guess, is the radical proposition being put forward by the Biden administration.
00:45:16.000 I gotta say, they're so disconnected from reality, it's insane.
00:45:18.000 John Kerry is their environmental envoy, the Biden administration.
00:45:21.000 He is leaving his job as environmental envoy, where he did an amazing job not doing anything about the environment.
00:45:26.000 But he did fly around on a lot of jets.
00:45:28.000 And he said many words in a sonorous voice.
00:45:35.000 John Kerry, whose face has grown longer with each passing day, looking more and more like an head from Easter Island.
00:45:46.000 Here he was yesterday talking about the real reason people are angry at the Russians in Ukraine.
00:45:54.000 It's not because they invaded a sovereign country.
00:45:56.000 It's because they're mean to the trees.
00:46:02.000 I believe that Russia has the ability to be able to make enormous changes if it really wanted to.
00:46:08.000 I mean, if Russia has the ability to wage a war illegally and invade another country, they ought to be able to find the effort to be responsible on the climate issue.
00:46:20.000 We need every country, including Russia.
00:46:22.000 Russia is one of the largest emitters in the world.
00:46:26.000 If Russia wanted to show good faith, They could go out and announce what their reductions are going to be and make a greater effort to reduce emissions now.
00:46:36.000 And maybe that would open up the door for people to feel better about what Russia is choosing to do.
00:46:42.000 These people are so stupid.
00:46:44.000 They're so stupid.
00:46:45.000 They're unbelievably stupid.
00:46:46.000 Okay, let me make something clear in foreign policy.
00:46:49.000 The power of moral suasion means nothing.
00:46:52.000 Nothing historically.
00:46:53.000 Zero things.
00:46:55.000 Never has a state in human history changed course because people talked mean at it.
00:47:00.000 It has never happened.
00:47:01.000 It will never happen.
00:47:03.000 If you read the history of negotiation, never has moral suasion alone swayed a state from pursuing what it perceives to be its national interest.
00:47:10.000 Russia is not going to... It's a giant gas station.
00:47:13.000 It's not going to suddenly start being nice to the environment because John Kerry calls on the moral voice of the world to show its outrage.
00:47:20.000 Rawr!
00:47:21.000 Mean letter!
00:47:21.000 Rawr!
00:47:23.000 This administration's approach to diplomacy is diplomacy for idiots.
00:47:27.000 They do the same thing with Iran.
00:47:29.000 Well, if we, Joe Biden's like, oh, if we just tell the Iranians we're mad at them, probably the whole world is as they can do.
00:47:35.000 The whole world.
00:47:37.000 No, you know what?
00:47:38.000 No one cares.
00:47:39.000 No one cares.
00:47:40.000 That's not the way that foreign policy works.
00:47:41.000 Foreign policy has never worked that way.
00:47:43.000 Every attempt in American foreign policy history to change foreign policy by just saying how much we hate what somebody else is doing has been totally useless.
00:47:52.000 And worse than useless, it demonstrates American weakness.
00:47:55.000 But that's John Kerry all over.
00:47:56.000 Thank God that Dumb a** was never president of the United States.
00:47:59.000 All right, coming up, we're going to be jumping into more stupidity from people like Rashida Tlaib.
00:48:06.000 Oh yes, she doesn't say dumb things just about Hamas.
00:48:09.000 She really likes terrorists.
00:48:10.000 But she also has very stupid things to say about the economy.
