Summary

New information emerges in the Jacob Blake shooting. The RNC begins with a bang as Republicans hit on crime, communism, and communism. And Nikki Haley and Tim Scott compete for speech of the night. Ben Shapiro talks about the latest in the case of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man who was shot and killed by police in response to a fight between two women on a street corner in the early morning hours of July 25th, 2019. He also talks about Joe Biden's initial response to the shooting, and whether or not the shooting was unjustified, and what we should do about racism in America. And he talks about why we need to dismantle racism, and why we should all be treated equally, no matter who you are or what your political views are. Ben also discusses the recent shooting of an unarmed black man in a car by police, and the lack of accountability for the police officer who fired into a car with three kids in the back of his car, who was a good Samaritan trying to help a woman involved in the fight between the two women in the altercation. 00:00:00.000 New information emerges in the Jacob Blake shooting.
00:00:03.000 The RNC begins with a bang as Republicans hit on crime, COVID, and communism.
00:00:06.000 And Nikki Haley and Tim Scott compete for speech of the night.
00:00:09.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:09.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:20.000 Protect your online privacy today at expressvpn.com slash ben.
00:00:24.000 Well, we'll get to the opener of the Republican National Convention, which was really well produced.
00:00:28.000 I mean, much better produced than the DNC, which had all sorts of sort of technological hiccups.
00:00:33.000 The RNC actually ran very smoothly, which you would expect from President Trump.
00:00:36.000 I mean, the fact is that there's one thing President Trump knows, and that thing is reality TV.
00:00:40.000 And so the convention was actually quite well produced.
00:00:42.000 We'll get to everything convention related in just one second.
00:00:45.000 I need to give you an update on the Jacob Blake case.
00:00:47.000 So, I suggested yesterday that perhaps we should wait for more information.
00:00:50.000 You know, because we needed more information.
00:00:52.000 And all we had was a grainy piece of footage that was taken from across the street, the first seconds of which were completely cut off, and which showed Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man, walking away from police, whose guns were drawn on him, and then he reaches into a car and then they shoot him.
00:01:07.000 And this prompted the likes of Joe Biden to issue awful statements on this whole thing, jumping to the conclusion that this was, once again, systemic American racism against black Americans, an unjustified shooting of an unarmed black man caught on camera, that nothing had preceded it.
00:01:23.000 Everything just happened the way that Benjamin Crump, the attorney, said.
00:01:26.000 Remember, Benjamin Crump's claim was that Jacob Blake was a good Samaritan who basically had gone to break up a fight between two women and then had walked away.
00:01:34.000 And the cops, for no reason, just decided to follow him and shoot him.
00:01:37.000 Well, it turns out that shock of shocks, that was not in fact the case.
00:01:40.000 First of all, it turns out, as we knew yesterday, that Jacob Blake, there's an open warrant out on Jacob Blake for things including sexual assault and domestic violence.
00:01:50.000 And none of this stopped Joe Biden from putting out the statement yesterday.
00:01:53.000 Joe Biden put out the following statement about the Jacob Blake shooting in the absence of any surrounding evidence without waiting for any new evidence to come out.
00:02:00.000 He said, No mention of the fact that this is a man for whom there was an arrest warrant out with three kids in the back of his car.
00:02:03.000 attempted to restrain him from getting into his car.
00:02:06.000 His children watched from inside the car and bystanders watched in disbelief.
00:02:10.000 No mention of the fact that this was a man for whom there was an arrest warrant out with three kids in the back of his car.
00:02:14.000 Now, typically, if you have a guy out, an arrest warrant out on a guy for domestic violence and sexual assault of a minor, which is what this was, it was sexual assault of a 15 year old, I believe was the actual case that they're talking about, according to statutory law, somebody underage.
00:02:27.000 Typically, you don't let that person get in the car with kids and drive away.
00:02:31.000 In any case, Joe Biden wrote.
00:02:32.000 wrote, his children watched from inside the car and bystanders watched in disbelief.
00:02:36.000 And this morning, the nation wakes up yet again with grief and outrage that yet another black American is a victim of excessive force.
00:02:41.000 So he's just going to go right with the excessive force line.
00:02:44.000 This calls for immediate, full and transparent investigation.
00:02:46.000 And the officers must be held accountable.
00:02:48.000 So he already knows the outcome of the investigation, which is magic.
00:02:50.000 And I definitely trust Democrats on preliminarily jumping to conclusions, considering that Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren and many members of the Democratic Party are still claiming years later after two independent prosecutorial investigations, state prosecutors in Ferguson, Missouri, and one Obama DOJ investigation that the shooting of Michael Brown was not It was a justified shooting by a police officer.
00:03:11.000 They're still claiming it's a murder.
00:03:12.000 So I definitely trust these people when it comes to their assessment of criminality.
00:03:17.000 Joe Biden said, these shots pierced the soul of our nation.
00:03:19.000 Jill and I pray for Jacob's recovery and for his children.
00:03:22.000 Equal justice has not been real for black Americans and so many others.
00:03:24.000 We are at an inflection point.
00:03:26.000 We must dismantle systemic racism.
00:03:27.000 So this was an element of systemic racism, apparently.
00:03:30.000 He still didn't know whether the shooting was unjustified.
00:03:32.000 He still had no evidence, even if it was unjustified, that it actually had anything to do with racism.
00:03:36.000 It is the urgent task before us.
00:03:38.000 We must fight to honor the ideals laid in the original American promise, which we are yet to attain.
00:03:42.000 That all men and women are created equal, but more importantly, that they must be treated equally.
00:03:46.000 Well, let me just point out that if a person resists arrest, by which we mean that the person resists arrest to the point where apparently there are reports that he was tased and he walked away from it and he was throwing off officers and then reaches into their car, I have a feeling the cops don't let white people get away with that either.
00:04:02.000 Just as a general rule.
00:04:03.000 Okay, in any case, new tape emerges from a different angle.
00:04:06.000 The telephone video is not particularly good, but you can get like a brief view here of what's going on.
00:04:11.000 So this is the other side of the SUV where Jacob Blake was shot shortly before you see him walking around the other side of the car and being shot.
00:04:17.000 If you pause it right there, you can see that Jacob Blake is basically on the ground, right?
00:04:23.000 And then he shakes the officers loose, as you're about to see, and he gets up and he starts walking away from the officers who now have their weapons drawn because he's resisting arrest.
00:04:31.000 And so this is what the tape shows.
00:04:34.000 He literally throws off the officers.
00:04:35.000 He's struggling.
00:04:36.000 He's resisting arrest.
00:04:39.000 People are standing around shouting at the police officers.
00:04:41.000 He gets up and he starts walking around the car.
00:04:45.000 Now, if you're a police officer and he has just shrugged you off, right, he has just fought you off, and he reaches into the car, are we under the impression that he is reaching into the car and he reaches down into the car?
00:04:53.000 That he's reaching down into the car for, like, what exactly?
00:04:58.000 I mean, what exactly is he reaching for at that point?
00:04:58.000 His ID?
00:05:01.000 If you're a cop, you are trained in that situation, that if somebody reaches into the car after having resisted arrest, that there's a good shot that that person might be going for something that is not going to be good for you.
00:05:11.000 Hey, so in any case, does this mean that the shooting was justified?
00:05:14.000 No, we don't have enough evidence still.
00:05:15.000 We still don't know.
00:05:16.000 But is this the original story we were told by Benjamin Crump?
00:05:19.000 That this is a man who's just breaking up a fight between a good Samaritan, breaking up a fight between two women, and then just calmly walking back to his car when he was accosted for no reason by the police?
00:05:28.000 Is that what you see on that tape?
00:05:30.000 So bottom line is this.
00:05:31.000 Maybe everybody should wait for more evidence to come out.
00:05:33.000 I know, controversial.
00:05:34.000 Maybe everybody should wait for more evidence to come out.
00:05:36.000 But no, we jumped to the conclusion that this is systemic American racism.
00:05:40.000 Always and forever.
00:05:41.000 This is the line.
00:05:42.000 Systemic American racism is always what is to blame for every situation that you don't like, whether or not there is evidence.
00:05:51.000 The officers involved in the shooting are already placed on administrative leave.
00:05:54.000 They are said to be cooperating with investigators, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and the state DOJ has already launched an investigation into the shooting.
00:06:02.000 Meanwhile, the police union representing the officers on the Kenosha police force released a statement on Monday criticizing Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who immediately condemned the excessive force used by cops.
00:06:11.000 Pete Dates, the president of the Kenosha Professional Police Association said, anytime deadly force is used, our hearts go out to those affected by it.
00:06:17.000 We assure you an independent investigation is being conducted by the Wisconsin DOJ, Division of Criminal Investigation. But none of that matters because the riots started.
00:06:28.000 And the riots?
00:06:29.000 People really don't like furniture, and they really don't like cars.
00:06:34.000 The police association said until the investigation is complete, we ask that you withhold pre-judgment about the incident and please let the process take place.
00:06:41.000 Governor Evers' statement on the incident was wholly irresponsible and not reflective of the hardworking members of the law enforcement community, not to mention the citizens of the city of Kenosha.
00:06:49.000 As always, the video currently circulating does not capture all the intricacies of a highly dynamic incident.
00:06:54.000 We ask that you withhold from passing judgment until all the facts are known and released.
00:06:57.000 This seems reasonable.
00:06:58.000 We, along with citizens of the great city of Kenosha, ask for peace to let the process play out fairly and impartially.
00:07:03.000 But nope!
00:07:04.000 We're not going to do any of those things.
00:07:05.000 And so last night, Kenosha burned.
00:07:07.000 Because this is how it works.
00:07:08.000 Politicians decide they can make hay off of claiming that America is systemically racist.
00:07:12.000 In no way does this make America a better place.
00:07:14.000 In no way does this improve race relations in the United States.
00:07:17.000 When you claim that every individual incident is an indicator, a symptom of a broader systemic problem, without evidence, Then what you are doing is setting the scene for burning of cities.
00:07:30.000 When you suggest that individual incidents without evidence must actually be racist, then what you are doing is something truly terrible.
00:07:39.000 And you bear responsibility for what comes next.
00:07:42.000 And that is what's happening right here.
00:07:44.000 That is what's happening.
00:07:45.000 You can see on this video in Kenosha, people, these are, I assume, white, you can see in the video, it's like white Antifa members probably, setting fires to that dumpster.
00:07:53.000 That dumpster right there, that was a systemically racist dumpster.
00:07:56.000 This is a dump truck right here.
00:07:57.000 That is a systemically racist dump truck.
00:07:59.000 I'm so glad they burned that dump truck.
00:08:00.000 Now that bastard can't be systemically racist anymore.
00:08:03.000 They also burned down a furniture store.
00:08:06.000 So that was important.
00:08:07.000 Because those couches were systemically racist.
00:08:09.000 There were couches inside.
00:08:11.000 And those couches, some of them were white and some of them were brown.
00:08:13.000 And we have no idea of the proportionality.
00:08:15.000 The couches were systemically racist.
00:08:17.000 They also burned a bunch of cars.
00:08:18.000 Which was good, because the cars were systemically racist.
00:08:21.000 All of these objects were systemically racist.
00:08:23.000 And it seems to me that the Black Lives Matter movement, which has resulted in this sort of chaos in major American cities across the country, I'm wondering what's the good it did.
00:08:32.000 I'm waiting.
00:08:33.000 Seriously, what is the good that it did?
00:08:33.000 I'm waiting.
00:08:35.000 In fact, American perceptions of Black Lives Matter are back where they were before the George Floyd shooting, which demonstrates exactly how much goodwill the BLM movement has completely blown in the United States.
00:08:46.000 As well they should have, because this behavior is indicative of a serious issue.
00:08:51.000 When it turns out that protests routinely devolve into rioting and looting, perhaps there is a problem.
00:08:57.000 We're gonna get to more of this in a second.
00:08:58.000 By the way, the New York Times headline, I should just say, the New York Times tweeted out, this was their tweet, about Kenosha being burned last night.
00:09:03.000 Quote, peaceful marches in Kenosha, Wisconsin against the police shooting of a black man gave way to fires and destruction.
00:09:09.000 Oh, they just gave way, did they?
00:09:11.000 Fascinating.
00:09:12.000 So if the anti-lockdown protests had devolved into burning down Capitol buildings, would they have just given way?
00:09:18.000 Or would it have been that the protesters turned out to be rioters and looters?
00:09:21.000 Is that what it would have turned out to be?
00:09:24.000 The New York Times headline, by the way, on all this was fires in Kenosha reflect anger after police shooting of Jacob.
00:09:29.000 Well, the fires reflected the anger, not the people were angry.
00:09:33.000 And so they randomly burned down businesses and burned down a church with a giant sign that said Black Lives Matter in front.
00:09:39.000 The fires themselves reflected anger.
00:09:40.000 Incredible.
00:09:41.000 Incredible.
00:09:42.000 See, in the leftist way of thinking, unfortunately, in the far left way of thinking, The angrier you are at the system, the more the system is to blame for your anger.
00:09:51.000 Therefore, your anger is always justified, and any resistance to the system is justified as well.
00:09:57.000 In fact, if you really want to show how bad the system is, you burn crap, because that demonstrates how an- you wouldn't be this angry if the system weren't corrupt.
00:10:04.000 You wouldn't be this angry for no good reason.
00:10:07.000 Barack Obama said this directly about the Ferguson, Missouri riots.
00:10:09.000 When those were happening, after the officer Darren Wilson was acquitted, after the grand jury didn't indict, Barack Obama went out there and said, people, don't just make this stuff up!
00:10:20.000 Except that in that particular case, everything was actually made up.
00:10:22.000 But the idea is the more angry you are, the more you must be justified in your anger.
00:10:27.000 Which, of course, is an outright lie.
00:10:29.000 It's an outright lie.
00:10:30.000 We don't know what happened in the Jacob Blake case.
00:10:32.000 And we do know what happened in this Chicago case where everybody decided to ransack the loop.
00:10:35.000 They ransacked the loop after hearing that a 15-year-old boy was shot for no reason by the cops.
00:10:39.000 It turned out to be a 20-year-old man who was shooting at the cops.
00:10:41.000 So it turns out people make up crap all the time.
00:10:44.000 White, black, and green.
00:10:45.000 People make up crap all the time that helps their case.
00:10:47.000 That doesn't justify this sort of behavior.
00:10:50.000 And it undermines whatever you're attempting to do, for sure.
00:10:53.000 And now, in a second, we're gonna get to how this plays in Peoria, because this does have a significant impact on the election.
00:10:58.000 We'll get to that in one moment.
00:10:59.000 First, let us talk about the fact that hiring these days can be particularly difficult.
00:11:03.000 There are a lot of people who are looking for jobs.
00:11:04.000 There are a lot of employers who are looking to hire up.

00:11:47.000 Let's say, for example, that you had somebody who worked at your office, like a town crier.
00:11:51.000 Let's call him Pavel, for example.
00:11:52.000 And let's say that each morning, he just started announcing out of the blue that he had 10 seconds to airtime when the teleprompter wasn't even up yet.
00:11:59.000 You might think to yourself, well, Pavel, love you, man, but ZipRecruiter it is for you.
00:12:03.000 If you need to replace someone like Pavel, you need to check out ZipRecruiter.com slash Daily Wire.
00:12:07.000 That is ZipRecruiter, the smartest way to hire.
00:12:10.000 Okay, so the headline from the New York Times again is that Jacob Blake shooting prompts tense protests and fires in several cities.
00:12:16.000 Oh, did it prompt fires?
00:12:17.000 Did it prompt the fires?
00:12:19.000 Weird, because it seems that fires don't break out on their own.
00:12:21.000 It seems like it prompted a bunch of violent maniacs to go out and do violent, maniacal things.
00:12:26.000 Who would have thought?
00:12:27.000 But you can't, you can never, Devolve agency on people who do bad things.
00:12:30.000 The system is always to blame for bad things happening.
00:12:33.000 This is the common thread in so much leftward thinking, and it is wrong nearly all the time.
00:12:38.000 Individual behavior, as it turns out in a free country, is generally attributable to the individual.
00:12:41.000 It is not attributable to the system.
00:12:44.000 We have moved from a view of racism in the United States that racism is a barrier to people making free decisions to people making free and bad decisions is a result of racism.
00:12:55.000 That is a wide difference.
00:12:57.000 It used to be that Americans were angry at racism because actual instances of racism deprived people of the ability to make decisions that were good for themselves.
00:13:05.000 Now people make active bad decisions for themselves and their neighbors, and we blame racism for the active bad decisions they're making.
00:13:11.000 They have no agency whatsoever.
00:13:12.000 That's the way all these headlines are phrased from the New York Times.
00:13:15.000 Julie Bosman, a reporter from the New York Times, writes like this.
00:13:18.000 Peaceful marches in protest of a police shooting gave way to fires, destruction, and looting in Kenosha, as a strip of businesses in a central residential neighborhood was consumed in flames early Tuesday.
00:13:27.000 Residents emerged from their houses overnight to gape at billowing smoke that could be seen for miles.
00:13:32.000 Lost in the blaze, neighbors said, was a mattress store.
00:13:34.000 Well, those mattresses were systemically racist.
00:13:35.000 I mean, let's be honest about that.
00:13:37.000 Those are some really, really systemically racist mattresses.
00:13:40.000 A storefront church.
00:13:42.000 I mean, I can't think of anything more systemically racist than a storefront church.
00:13:45.000 A Mexican restaurant.
00:13:46.000 I mean, my God, the cultural appropriation.
00:13:48.000 I mean, even if it's owned by Mexican Americans, that's cultural appropriation.
00:13:52.000 A cell phone store.
00:13:53.000 Cell phones, systemically racist, as we know.
00:13:55.000 Less than a mile away, a probation and parole office was also on fire.
00:13:59.000 The National Guard was called in.
00:14:01.000 BLM has been burning cities.
00:14:03.000 BLM has been destroying cities.
00:14:05.000 Something like over 30 people have died in the current BLM riots.
00:14:09.000 Some 30 people have died in the BLM riots.
00:14:13.000 Okay, and people are getting shot?
00:14:14.000 People are getting killed?
00:14:15.000 Okay, it's obviously the police, right?
00:14:19.000 It's obviously that the cops are the ones who are most at fault here when we watch cities burn.
00:14:22.000 Okay, so all of this has a relatively large political impact.
00:14:26.000 Okay, so that was the basis for the RNC last night.
00:14:30.000 The Democrats completely ignored this for like a full-on week.
00:14:32.000 For a full-on week, the Democrats completely ignored everything that was going on in these major cities.
00:14:37.000 And it turns out Americans care about it.
00:14:38.000 There were polls that demonstrate that Americans care about it.
00:14:41.000 There was a Pew poll that came out last week.
00:14:43.000 59% of Americans say they are deeply worried about increased violence in America's major cities, which they should be.
00:14:49.000 63%, by the way, say they are concerned about coronavirus.
00:14:51.000 So that means that this is a top priority and Democrats completely ignored it.
00:14:54.000 So it's not surprising that Republicans decided that they were going to push on this particular issue as well they should.
00:14:59.000 That's particularly true given that President Trump's strategy here is apparently to win over some of the people in the middle, but it is also to drive out rural votes in the same way that he did in 2016.
00:15:10.000 That strategy could bear fruit given the media's unwillingness to cover this stuff honestly, given the Democrats' unwillingness to call out evil and violence for exactly what it is.
00:15:21.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:15:23.000 We'll get started with the RNC in just one second.
00:15:25.000 First, you've heard me talk about how important it is to have a VPN.
00:15:28.000 Now that a lot of you are working from home, it's even more important to choose a VPN that you trust.
00:15:31.000 I can say with full confidence, ExpressVPN is the best VPN on the market, and here is why.
00:15:35.000 Number one, ExpressVPN doesn't log your data.
00:15:37.000 Lots of really cheap or free VPNs make money by selling your data to ad companies.
00:15:41.000 ExpressVPN has developed a technology called Trusted Server that makes it impossible for their servers to log any of your information.
00:15:47.000 Number two, speed.
00:15:48.000 I've tried a lot of VPNs in the past.
00:15:49.000 Many slow your connection down or make your device sluggish.
00:15:52.000 I've been using ExpressVPN for literally years at this point.
00:15:55.000 My internet speeds are always blazing fast and my internet activity is always protected.
00:16:00.000 Also, ExpressVPN is really easy to use.
00:16:01.000 You can install it basically with the click of a button.
00:16:03.000 With one more click, it's now running on your computer and you're protected.
00:16:06.000 It's not just me saying this.
00:16:07.000 Wired, Seen at the Verge, many other tech journals rate ExpressVPN the number one VPN in the world.
00:16:12.000 So, protect yourself with the VPN I use and trust.

00:16:32.000 Meanwhile, the RNC began last night.
00:16:35.000 And it began on an upbeat note.
00:16:36.000 There were a couple of themes that were pressed last night.
00:16:39.000 One was America is a great place, which is something that the Democrats did not say the entirety of the convention.
00:16:44.000 It was America is a horrible hellscape.
00:16:46.000 And you can tell by the way the media are covering it how dishonest the media are.
00:16:49.000 So the media proclaimed that basically Trump The RNC and the Trump campaign downplayed America last night.
00:16:56.000 It was a dark vision of America.
00:16:58.000 No, that was the DNC, where they were claiming that America was systemically racist, that everybody in America was going to die from COVID, that we were living on the verge of a dictatorship.
00:17:06.000 That was the campaign, night after night, last week.
00:17:09.000 Barack Obama said we are literally living on the verge of a dictatorship.
00:17:11.000 Michelle Obama said there's a never-ending list of black Americans being murdered by the cops.
00:17:15.000 So if you're going to talk about dystopian hellscape views of the United States, it's pretty obvious that the Democrats were pushing that line.
00:17:21.000 But since the gaslighting by the media has gone so incredibly far, we've now reversed the narrative.
00:17:26.000 And the narrative is that when Republicans talk about how America is a great place, yes, there are problems here, but America is an incredible place founded on good principles.
00:17:35.000 And that we are getting past COVID, and that we are working to solve problems, and that we can do this if granted freedom.
00:17:41.000 The media played this as though Republicans have a dark vision of America.
00:17:45.000 No, Americans have a dark vision of Marxism.
00:17:47.000 Republicans have a dark vision of the future that Democrats would like to see pervade.
00:17:51.000 And frankly, looking at America's major blue cities, I have no reason to doubt that particular narrative.
00:17:56.000 My favorite headline, by the way, of the day had nothing to do with the RNC.
00:17:59.000 My favorite headline of the day was the LA Times being very, very angry that Republicans keep beating up on California.
00:18:07.000 It was pretty incredible.
00:18:09.000 Here was the LA Times headline last night.
00:18:10.000 Speakers at the RNC turned California into a dystopian punchline, portraying America's most populous state as a dangerous wasteland ruled by liberal politicians who are oblivious to public safety.
00:18:20.000 No, actually, it turns out that Democrats turned California into a dystopian punchline.
00:18:24.000 I live here.
00:18:25.000 They have turned this place into a hellscape.
00:18:26.000 I was talking to Producer Nick.
00:18:29.000 And let me tell you something, Producer Nick is the kind of guy who likes to hunt bears in the woods with like just a knife.
00:18:34.000 He brings a torch and a knife to the woods to hunt bears.
00:18:36.000 He went down to Santa Monica, he's like, I'm not gonna survive here.
00:18:39.000 I'm leaving in like the next 37 seconds.
00:18:41.000 Producer Nick is the kind of guy who dates women who train wolves.
00:18:44.000 And Producer Nick went down to Santa Monica and he's like, um, this is, this is quite awful.
00:18:49.000 I think we need to leave.
00:18:51.000 California has turned into a hellscape because of Democrats.
00:18:53.000 Because of Democrats.
00:18:54.000 But the media are like, how dare Republicans portray major American cities that are on fire, overrun with homelessness and poverty.
00:19:01.000 How dare they portray these places as bad?
00:19:05.000 So the actual narrative last night is that America is quite wonderful and it is filled with wonderful people and Democrats keep telling you that your neighbors are racist and terrible people while simultaneously saying the government will solve all of your problems and solving none of them.
00:19:16.000 The RNC opened on an optimistic note.
00:19:17.000 There was a video narrated by Jon Voight.
00:19:19.000 It was quite good.
00:19:20.000 There was a lot of focus at the RNC on the quote-unquote common man, a lot more than there was at the Democratic Party National Convention.
00:19:26.000 The DNC was based almost entirely on the idea that Donald Trump is a bad orange man who's bad and orange, as we discussed last week.
00:19:33.000 There was very little focus on the middle class or low-income Americans and what Democrats are going to do to uplift them.
00:19:39.000 There was almost no focus on policy.
00:19:41.000 There was certainly no focus on the riots and the looting.
00:19:43.000 Instead, it was America's systemically racist and Joe Biden, the octogenarian political animal who's been there for 50 years, is going to be your beacon of light in the wilderness.
00:19:54.000 Republicans went in a different direction.
00:19:55.000 They made an overt play for people who are middle and lower income, and they made an overt play for people who are fearful of what's going on in America's major cities.
00:20:04.000 Here was the opening video narrated by my friend, Jon Voight.
00:20:09.000 Despite unpredictable events, we as Americans work together to overcome challenges, write our own stories.
00:20:18.000 The legends for our posterity.
00:20:21.000 America.
00:20:23.000 Land of promise.
00:20:25.000 Land of opportunity.
00:20:27.000 Land of heroes.
00:20:31.000 And that's good stuff!
00:20:32.000 There's nothing wrong with this sort of patriotism.
00:20:34.000 I know that at the DNC, people were trying to elide under God from the early hours of the DNC before he saw them in primetime, and then lie about it by having Joe Biden have his grandkids do the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the national anthem.
00:20:46.000 But there's no question which party has a greater sense of patriotism.
00:20:51.000 I mean, that's pretty obvious at this point, is it not?
00:20:52.000 I mean, the entire Democratic Party platform is that America is systemically racist and terrible.
00:20:57.000 And then Joe Biden tries to buy it back a little bit so he can pretend to be moderate.
00:21:01.000 Hey, then the RNC did something that I thought that they absolutely needed to do.
00:21:04.000 I've been preaching it for weeks on this program.
00:21:05.000 I said it would be political malpractice if they did not do it.
00:21:08.000 They played a video of various Democratic governors saying that Donald Trump gave them what they needed when it came to COVID, which I've been urging the Trump administration to do for quite a while.
00:21:17.000 And people were shocked by the brilliance of it.
00:21:19.000 I told you they were going to do this for weeks, or at least that they should.
00:21:19.000 Don't be shocked.
00:21:22.000 Here was a little bit of that video.
00:21:23.000 Andrew Cuomo and company praising Trump's response to COVID.
00:21:26.000 He said everything that I could have hoped for.
00:21:29.000 Promise made, promise kept.
00:21:31.000 He is ready, willing, and able to help.
00:21:34.000 He has been responsive.
00:21:36.000 He's done a lot of good things.
00:21:38.000 What the federal government did was a phenomenal accomplishment.
00:21:42.000 In our hour of need, you all literally are helping us in a big way.
00:21:46.000 We were at the edge, and this is life or death stuff, and we are forever thankful for that.
00:21:51.000 Okay, that is true.
00:21:53.000 I mean, all of these Democratic governors were praising President Trump on COVID.
00:21:56.000 And now, of course, President Trump is the worst thing in the world.
00:21:59.000 Trump also did a moment with the first responders.
00:22:02.000 He appeared in a couple of different videos throughout the night where he was dealing with, you know, quote-unquote, the common man.
00:22:07.000 And here he was speaking with first responders and thanking them.
00:22:09.000 This is a good look for the president.
00:22:11.000 These are the incredible workers that helped us so much with the COVID.
00:22:16.000 We can call it many different things from China virus.
00:22:19.000 I don't want to go through all the names because some people may get insulted, but that's the way it is.
00:22:23.000 These are great, great people.
00:22:25.000 Doctors, nurses, firemen, policemen.
00:22:29.000 We want to thank you all.
00:22:30.000 You have been incredible and we want to thank you and all of the millions of people that you represent.
00:22:36.000 Thank you all very much.
00:22:37.000 Great job.
00:22:37.000 Yes, I know.
00:22:38.000 You're allowed to thank the cops.
00:22:39.000 You're allowed to thank the firemen.
00:22:40.000 All of that's fine.
00:22:41.000 It turns out all of that's good.
00:22:42.000 All of that's good.
00:22:43.000 Turns out that police officers particularly were a particular focus of the RNC last night.
00:22:47.000 They should be, because when they leave, you know what's been happening in the cities?
00:22:50.000 Have you been watching?
00:22:51.000 Okay, in just a second, we're gonna get to that theme, which was pushed very heavily last night.
00:22:55.000 The Trump campaign really made a heavy pitch last night for particularly black voters.
00:22:59.000 So there are good polls, like a lot of them, showing that Trump is actually outperforming where he was last time with the black vote, that it is not as monolithic as the Democrats have assumed.
00:23:07.000 If Trump makes significant inroads into the black vote, The Democrats have a real problem on their hands.
00:23:12.000 This election is a lot closer than some of these polls are suggesting.
00:23:14.000 Chris Wallace pointed that out last night.
00:23:16.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:23:16.000 He is correct.
00:23:18.000 First, many of us have become expert homebodies these last few months, but there is a downside to not leaving your home, which is that often we exercise less.
00:23:25.000 And that's why I love Echelon.
00:23:27.000 Echelon has a huge lineup of connected fitness bikes, fitness mirrors, rowing machines that give you a fun, challenging workout from the comfort and safety of your home.
00:23:35.000 In as little as 20 minutes, you can get into the best shape of your life and be active with the entire family.
00:23:39.000 Their world-class instructors will motivate you with daily live and on-demand classes that are always available when you need them.
00:23:44.000 And unlike their competitors, Echelon is affordable for everyone.
00:23:47.000 Their EX1 connected fitness bike is less than half the price of a Peloton.
00:23:50.000 So I actually looked at getting a Peloton for the wife, and then we could have cut a Peloton commercial.
00:23:55.000 And then it turns out that it was so damned expensive.
00:23:57.000 I was like, well, I don't think we're gonna do that.
00:23:59.000 And so we ended up with an Echelon, and it is absolutely fantastic.
00:24:02.000 My wife loves it.
00:24:04.000 With Echelon financing, you can try them out risk-free for 30 days, zero down, as little as $46 per month.
00:24:08.000 Don't pay a ton for a Peloton.
00:24:10.000 Instead, go check out Echelon.
00:24:12.000 I mean, you're talking about a quality bike with classes, the whole thing.
00:24:14.000 Go to echelonfit.com slash Ben.
00:24:17.000 That's E-C-H-E-L-O-N, fit.com slash Ben.
00:24:21.000 Echelonfit.com slash Ben.
00:24:23.000 Go check them out right now.
00:24:25.000 It really is a fantastic, fantastic product.
00:24:26.000 Okay, so.
00:24:28.000 There are a couple themes that the Republicans hit on last night.
00:24:31.000 As I mentioned, they really made a play for black voters last night.
00:24:34.000 And I know that the Democrats think the way you appeal to black voters is by suggesting that America is systemically racist and the police are evil.
00:24:42.000 It turns out that 81% of black Americans want the same number of police or more in their communities.
00:24:46.000 That the vast majority of black Americans are not, in fact, living below the poverty line.
00:24:51.000 That black Americans are by and large middle class, that black Americans actually want safety and security in their communities, that the lie that has been promulgated by the media and in pop culture, that all black Americans are desperate to get the police out of their communities, and that they are warm toward criminality is a lie that has been a lie for decades, and yet that lie is promulgated by the media specifically in order to quote-unquote blame America for criminality problems that exist among individual black Americans, which is ridiculous.
00:25:19.000 So several Republicans hit on the crime point, and then there were several kind of big name and very impactful black speakers at the RNC last night.
00:25:26.000 Of course, it was closed out by Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina.
00:25:29.000 So Jim Jordan hit on the point that Democrats basically are allowing evil to happen in our major cities while preventing you from going to work and school.
00:25:36.000 This is true.
00:25:38.000 There's no way around this.
00:25:39.000 It is absolutely true.
00:25:40.000 In LA, they're trying to shut down private schools while they permanently allow major protests, while they've allowed looting to ransack half the city.
00:25:48.000 I mean, it really is incredible.
00:25:50.000 Here is Jim Jordan, the Republican congressman from Ohio, making this point.
00:25:54.000 Democrats won't let you go to church, but they'll let you protest.
00:25:57.000 Democrats won't let you go to work, but they'll let you riot.
00:25:59.000 Democrats won't let you go to school, but they'll let you go loot.
00:26:01.000 our military. And while they're doing all this, they're also trying to take away your guns.
00:26:06.000 Look at the positions they've taken in the past few months.
00:26:09.000 Democrats won't let you go to church, but they'll let you protest. Democrats won't let you go to work, but they'll let you riot.
00:26:15.000 And Democrats won't let you go to school, but they'll let you go loot.
00:26:18.000 Yup, yup, and yup.
00:26:21.000 And for security moms, you know, people who are living in the suburbs, that makes a difference because this is starting to invade the suburbs.
00:26:27.000 I mean, you're seeing BLM rioters, protesters, in some cases the same groups, who are going into suburbs and screaming at people to keep them awake at night.
00:26:37.000 This is not relegated to city centers anymore.
00:26:40.000 People wonder why there seems to be more ire by more Americans at BLM these days.
00:26:45.000 Well, that is why.
00:26:47.000 Because this supposedly started off as a righteous crusade and it quickly overthrew those boundaries and turned into a crusade to destroy virtually all American founding principles.
00:26:47.000 That is why.
00:26:56.000 There's a reason that Nikole Hannah-Jones, the de facto editor of the New York Times, says that she's proud that these are the 1619 riots.
00:27:03.000 Okay, so this was one message, right?
00:27:05.000 One of the messages here is that the Democrats keep defending criminality.
00:27:09.000 Mark and Patricia McCloskey, that's the famous couple from St.
00:27:12.000 Louis, whose gated community was broken into by Black Lives Matter rioters, and it turns into criminality when you break into a gated community.
00:27:18.000 And then they held guns outside their house and were then prosecuted by a St.
00:27:21.000 Louis prosecutor who was seeking to maintain electoral advantage.
00:27:26.000 They spoke at the RNC last night and made the point that the Democrats are defending criminals, they're not defending citizens.
00:27:33.000 It seems as if the Democrats no longer view the government's job as protecting honest citizens from criminals, but rather protecting criminals from honest citizens.
00:27:44.000 Not a single person in the out-of-control mob you saw at our house was charged with a crime.
00:27:51.000 But you know who was?
00:27:53.000 We were.
00:27:54.000 They've actually charged us with felonies for daring to defend our home.
00:28:00.000 And that is right.
00:28:01.000 And I think more and more Americans are picking up on this.
00:28:03.000 The media have basically blacked out all coverage of the violence, or they've treated it as the predictable side effect of systemic American racism.
00:28:11.000 Most Americans are not up for this.
00:28:12.000 They absolutely are not.
00:28:13.000 Meanwhile, the RNC made a pitch for black voters.
00:28:16.000 So Herschel Walker, who's been a longtime friend of President Trump, he played for the New York Generals when Trump was an owner in the USFL.
00:28:23.000 So Herschel Walker spoke at length about his friendship with President Trump.
00:28:27.000 And it was a good speech.
00:28:28.000 He gave a good speech last night.
00:28:29.000 Here he was.
00:28:31.000 I've known Donald Trump for 37 years and I don't mean just casual ranting to him from time to time.
00:28:38.000 I'm talking about a deep personal friendship.
00:28:40.000 He taught me that the family should be your top priority.
00:28:44.000 I watched him treat janitors, security guards, and waiters the same way he would treat a VIP.
00:28:50.000 He made them feel special because he knew they were.
00:28:53.000 He understands that they are the people who make this country run.
00:28:57.000 They clean, they cook, they build, they drive, they deliver.
00:29:01.000 Hey, all of this is good, right? And Walker also said, listen, you can love both social justice and the American flag. You don't have to be on the side of flag burners in order to believe that sometimes change is necessary. Here's Herschel Walker.
00:29:13.000 Just because someone loves and respect the flag, our national anthem, and our country doesn't mean they don't care about social justice.
00:29:23.000 I care about all those things.
00:29:25.000 So does Donald Trump.
00:29:27.000 He shows how much he cares about social justice and the black community through his actions.
00:29:32.000 And his actions speak louder than stickers or slogans on a jersey.
00:29:37.000 By the way, this led, because Twitter is a garbage place filled with garbage people, this led the term Uncle Tom to trend on Twitter last night.
00:29:44.000 And this morning.
00:29:45.000 Well, well done, everybody.
00:29:47.000 So a black man thinks differently than you think he ought to think, lefties, and he becomes an Uncle Tom.
00:29:51.000 He's a sellout to black people everywhere.
00:29:53.000 Well, apparently among other sellouts was Vernon Jones.
00:29:56.000 So Vernon Jones is a state Georgia legislator, and he supports President Trump.
00:30:01.000 He says, you know, when I endorsed Trump, all hell broke loose because I'm expected to think a certain way.
00:30:06.000 Now, you know, when I made the public announcement of my support for President Trump, all hell broke loose.
00:30:14.000 I was threatened.
00:30:16.000 Called an embarrassment and asked to resign by my own party.
00:30:22.000 Unfortunately, that's consistent with the Democratic Party and how they view independent thinking black men and women.
00:30:34.000 Okay, and this is absolutely true, obviously, is that the Democratic Party views the black community as an exclusive preserve for their policies, and they should not.
00:30:42.000 Because it turns out there are a lot of black Americans who are not really fond of watching their cities burn while excuses are made for the burning by Democrats and by the media.
00:30:49.000 We'll get to more of this in just a second, and the big name guests of the convention.
00:30:53.000 Some were good, some were not so good.
00:30:55.000 We'll get to all of that, the breakdown coming up.

00:32:07.000 There were a couple of big-name speakers who did great last night.

00:32:11.000 But, if you haven't heard by now, Joe Biden is officially the Democratic Party's presidential nominee for 2020.
00:32:16.000 We know this because we made Matt Walsh watch his acceptance speech as part of our Daily Wire All Access Live DNC Watch Party.
00:32:21.000 It was pretty traumatizing for him.

00:33:09.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:33:12.000 Alrighty, so other speakers were great last night.
00:33:22.000 As I say, there are a bunch of black Republicans who spoke, I thought, quite wonderfully and eloquently about the fact that Democrats have simply assumed that the black vote is there for them.
00:33:31.000 Kimberly Klasick, who is a candidate in Baltimore for Congress, in Elijah Cummings' old district.
00:33:37.000 She cut a great ad the other day about the destruction that Democratic rule has wrought in Baltimore.
00:33:42.000 Well, she spoke at the RNC and she was terrific.
00:33:46.000 Sadly, the same cycle of decay exists in many of America's Democrat-run cities.
00:33:51.000 And yet the Democrats still assume that black people will vote for them, no matter how much they let us down and take us for granted.
00:33:57.000 We're sick of it.
00:33:58.000 We're not going to take it anymore.
00:34:00.000 The days of blindly supporting the Democrats are coming to an end.
00:34:04.000 In Baltimore, we have the highest number of black Republicans in the entire country running for office this election cycle.
00:34:10.000 Joe Biden believes we can't think for ourselves that the color of someone's skin dictates their political views.
00:34:16.000 We're not buying the lies anymore.
00:34:18.000 You and your party have neglected us for far too long.
00:34:21.000 Okay, this is all excellent, excellent stuff.
00:34:23.000 Okay, other speakers who were great last night.
00:34:25.000 There is a Cuban expatriate named Maximo Alvarez, who I believe will be a guest on our radio show a little bit later today.
00:34:31.000 He was terrific.
00:34:32.000 He contrasted the United States with communist countries and talked at length about why it is that America is a fantastic, fantastic place.
00:34:39.000 This is a good reminder, gang, that people who have actually lived under tyranny understand just how wonderful America is and what it would mean to lose it.
00:34:45.000 Here's Maximo Alvarez, who I thought was the most moving speaker of the night.
00:34:49.000 I have seen people like this before.
00:34:52.000 I've seen movements like this before.
00:34:54.000 I've seen ideas like this before.
00:34:58.000 And I am here to tell you, we cannot let them take over our country.
00:35:04.000 I heard the promises of Fidel Castro.
00:35:07.000 And I can never forget all those who grew up around me, who look like me.
00:35:15.000 Okay, and then he talked about the difference between communism and Americanism.
00:35:29.000 He says America is the greatest country on earth.
00:35:31.000 And by the way, this is somebody who should know.
00:35:33.000 Here he is, Maximo Alvarez.
00:35:36.000 I may be a Cuban born, but I am 100% American.
00:35:41.000 This is the greatest country in the world.
00:35:48.000 And I said this before, if I gave away everything that I have today, it would not equal 1% of what I was given.
00:36:01.000 When I came to this great country of ours, the gift of freedom...
00:36:08.000 The fact that this is a man who understands gratitude for the country he has been given, that's the major difference in our politics.
00:36:14.000 People who are grateful for the principles of the Declaration of Independence, people who are grateful for what they have been given, that they didn't hit a triple, they were born on third base, and people who have decided that all the good things in life are natural to life.
00:36:26.000 And that we can simply dispense with all of the systems that created those things, because those systems are inherently bad and terrible.
00:36:32.000 So it wasn't all glory last night.
00:36:33.000 There were a couple of speakers who were not particularly wonderful.
00:36:36.000 The one who got the most attention, of course, was Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News host and Donald Trump Jr.' 's parent.
00:36:42.000 Are they married yet?
00:36:43.000 I think she's his girlfriend.
00:36:44.000 Kimberly Guilfoyle spoke last night and forgot there was no crowd.
00:36:49.000 So it got really, really awkward.
00:36:51.000 Here's a little bit of the awkwardness.
00:36:53.000 President Trump is the leader who will rebuild the promise of America and ensure that every citizen can realize their American dream.
00:37:03.000 Ladies and gentlemen, leaders and fighters for freedom and liberty and the American dream, the best is yet to come!
00:37:15.000 And then resident silence.
00:37:17.000 So that works when there's a crowd there, maybe.
00:37:19.000 But there was no crowd there, so that got real awkward, real fast.
00:37:22.000 She used to be on TV, so that feels like not a really good TV decision.
00:37:27.000 That person who actually was shockingly good last night was Donald Trump Jr.
00:37:29.000 So there were a lot of people who were concerned that Donald Trump Jr.
00:37:32.000 was going to just go out there and be over the top and wild.
00:37:35.000 And actually, He was pretty good.
00:37:37.000 His speech was actually kind of shockingly good.
00:37:39.000 He talked about the fact that Democrats have been using COVID as an excuse to actually give away money to their rich Democratic friends.
00:37:45.000 This is true.
00:37:46.000 Nancy Pelosi has stacked into the relief packages state and local tax deductions, which is a way for California to charge insane levels of taxation and then take the money out from the federal government coffers, essentially.
00:37:58.000 Here is Donald Trump Jr.
00:37:59.000 going after that.
00:38:02.000 After eight years of Obama and Biden's slow growth, Trump's policies have been like rocket fuel to the economy and especially to the middle class.
00:38:11.000 Biden has promised to take that money back out of your pocket and keep it in the swamp.
00:38:17.000 That makes sense, though, considering Joe Biden is basically the Loch Ness Monster of the swamp.
00:38:22.000 For the past half century, he's been lurking around in there.
00:38:26.000 He sticks his head up every now and then to run for president.
00:38:30.000 Then he disappears and doesn't do much in between.
00:38:33.000 Correct.
00:38:34.000 Fact check.
00:38:34.000 True.
00:38:35.000 Trump Jr.
00:38:36.000 also went after the cancel culture that is being promoted by the Democrats.
00:38:38.000 By the way, the cancel culture is so strong right now, and the insane level of censoriousness is so strong right now.
00:38:43.000 There's a video that's going around on Twitter, it's pretty incredible, of Black Lives Matter activists literally walking up to people at a Washington, D.C.
00:38:50.000 restaurant and demanding that they raise their fists in a salute to black power.
00:38:55.000 And when two people who are just sitting there are like, no, they start berating them publicly.
00:38:59.000 That is where we are as a country, and it ain't good.
00:39:01.000 There was Donald Trump Jr.
00:39:02.000 going off on it last night.
00:39:04.000 Joe Biden and the radical left are now coming for our freedom of speech.
00:39:09.000 They want to bully us into submission.
00:39:12.000 If they get their way, it will no longer be the silent majority.
00:39:16.000 It will be the silenced majority.
00:39:19.000 This has to stop.
00:39:21.000 Freedom of expression used to be a liberal value, at least before the radical left took over.
00:39:28.000 Now the Republican Party is the home of free speech.
00:39:31.000 The place where anyone from any background can speak their mind.
00:39:35.000 And may the best ideas win.
00:39:36.000 Okay, and then he also added, by the way, when we downloaded it, it would be nice if it didn't go to voicemail.
00:39:42.000 Because since the Democrats are intent on cutting the cops in the middle of major cities burning, that's probably a bad idea.
00:39:49.000 What happened to George Floyd is a disgrace, and if you know a police officer, you know they agree with that too.
00:39:55.000 But we cannot lose sight of the fact that our police are American heroes.
00:39:59.000 They deserve our deepest appreciation.
00:40:02.000 Because no matter what the Democrats say, you and I both know, when we dial 911, we don't want it going to voicemail.
00:40:11.000 So defunding the police is not an option.
00:40:15.000 Everything starts with safety and security.
00:40:17.000 You can't have anything else without it.
00:40:20.000 Okay, so these were all of the lead-up speeches.
00:40:23.000 Then, there were the two kind of concluding speeches, and they were both great.
00:40:28.000 And these are both figures who are going to be very important to the future of the Republican Party.
00:40:31.000 One is former ambassador to the UN and my spirit animal, Nikki Haley, and the other was Senator Tim Scott.
00:40:36.000 Both of them gave, I thought, excellent speeches last night.
00:40:38.000 The media have been trying to pretend that these were sort of outliers, right?
00:40:41.000 The media's goal here is to pretend that the Republican Party is all of Trump's worst excesses, that it is not in fact comprised of candidates like Nikki Haley and Tim Scott.
00:40:50.000 And so what they attempted to do is say, well, they're out of step with sort of the Trumpian base. No, they're really, really not. I mean, both of these figures are very popular inside the Republican Party. So Nikki Haley pointed out correctly that Joe Biden has basically taken the strategy of blaming America first for all problems in the world.
00:41:03.000 This is absolutely true.
00:41:05.000 Here is the former governor of South Carolina, former UN ambassador under President Trump, and a person with a great personal story, by the way.
00:41:11.000 I mean, both Tim Scott and Nikki Haley are people who appreciate America because of their background, right?
00:41:15.000 Nikki Haley is the daughter of two Indian immigrants and would never be treated, by the way, with the same sort of Kid gloves that the media have treated Kamala Harris, who's the daughter of Jamaican immigrant and an Indian immigrant.
00:41:27.000 Here's Nikki Haley talking about Joe Biden blaming America first.
00:41:32.000 I'll start with a little story.
00:41:35.000 It's about an American ambassador to the United Nations.
00:41:38.000 That ambassador said, and I quote, Democrats always blame America first.
00:41:46.000 The year was 1984.
00:41:47.000 The president was Ronald Reagan.
00:41:51.000 And Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick's words are just as true today.
00:41:57.000 Joe Biden and the Democrats are still blaming America first.
00:42:03.000 And that is exactly right.
00:42:05.000 Now, Nikki Haley got ripped up and down by the media last night.
00:42:08.000 Why?
00:42:08.000 Well, number one, because she was good.
00:42:10.000 But mostly because she pointed out that America is not a racist country.
00:42:14.000 She said, yes, there are racists here.
00:42:15.000 Some people do racist things.
00:42:17.000 I've been hit by those people.
00:42:18.000 But America is not a racist country.
00:42:20.000 Now, this is such an important distinction.
00:42:22.000 Okay, I have been personally targeted by anti-Semites for a lot of my career.
00:42:27.000 In 2016, I was named the number one target of online anti-Semitism, an enormous amount of it springing from the alt-right.
00:42:32.000 But I've been hit by anti-Semitism from members of the left.
00:42:35.000 I've been hit with all sorts of harassment.
00:42:37.000 There are lots of nasty people online, and in real life, there are lots of nasty people.
00:42:40.000 Is that America's fault?
00:42:41.000 It is not America's fault.
00:42:42.000 You can actually have experienced bad things in America and not blame the entire country that gives you freedom.
00:42:47.000 And that was a point Nikki Haley made eloquently last night, and the media decided to completely ignore.
00:42:52.000 In much of the Democratic Party, it's now fashionable to say that America is racist.
00:42:59.000 That is a lie.
00:43:01.000 America is not a racist country.
00:43:06.000 This is personal for me.
00:43:09.000 I am the proud daughter of Indian immigrants.
00:43:12.000 They came to America and settled in a small southern town.
00:43:16.000 My father wore a turban.
00:43:18.000 My mother wore a sari.
00:43:21.000 I was a brown girl in a black and white world.
00:43:24.000 We faced discrimination and hardship, but my parents never gave in to grievance and hate.
00:43:32.000 This is a great point that you can criticize people in America.
00:43:35.000 You can if you spot racist incidents, you can fight them.
00:43:38.000 You can fight racist obstacles.
00:43:40.000 That doesn't mean the entire country is racist.
00:43:42.000 It's such an important point.
00:43:44.000 And the reason the Democrats hate Nikki Haley is because she has the credibility to say stuff like this.
00:43:47.000 It's the same reason that they hate Senator Tim Scott.
00:43:50.000 So Tim Scott spoke last night.
00:43:52.000 He was excellent.
00:43:54.000 And again, the media couldn't deal with it.
00:43:56.000 So they just decided to treat Tim Scott as an outlier.
00:43:59.000 Scott said the election is about the promise of America.
00:44:01.000 This is exactly right.
00:44:02.000 Here is the black senator from South Carolina, Republican.
00:44:06.000 While this election is between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, it is not solely about Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
00:44:15.000 It's about the promise of America.
00:44:18.000 It's about you and me, our challenges and heartbreaks, hopes and dreams.
00:44:22.000 It's about how we respond when tackling critical issues like police reform.
00:44:27.000 When Democrats called our work a token effort and walked out of the room during negotiations because they wanted the issue more than they wanted a solution.
00:44:38.000 Exactly right.
00:44:39.000 Here's Tim Scott making the point that I've been making for weeks here.
00:44:42.000 And when it comes to racism, Democrats are more interested in labeling everyone they don't like racist and labeling the system racist so that you will give them power.
00:44:48.000 Then they aren't actually solving problems.
00:44:50.000 And Tim Scott should know since he's the one who proposed the police reform bill, Democrats then filibustered.
00:44:54.000 Scott also gave an inspiring message about the fact that this is an incredible country.
00:44:57.000 He says, my family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.
00:45:01.000 I know we're supposed to pretend that racial progress has not taken place.
00:45:04.000 I know we're supposed to pretend like Isabel Wilkerson that we're still living in a caste system in the United States.
00:45:08.000 We're supposed to pretend like Ibram Kendi that racism just went underground and reemerged as all of our soft systems of institutional power.
00:45:15.000 It's a lie.
00:45:16.000 Here is Tim Scott rebutting the lie.
00:45:19.000 My grandfather's 99th birthday would have been tomorrow.
00:45:24.000 Growing up, he had to cross the street if a white person was coming.
00:45:29.000 He suffered the indignity of being forced out of school as a third grader to pick cotton, and he never learned to read or write.
00:45:40.000 Yet he lived long enough to see his grandson become the first African American to be elected to both the United States House and the United States Senate in the history of this country.
00:45:54.000 Our family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.
00:46:00.000 And that's why I believe the next American century can be better than the last.
00:46:07.000 Isn't that a better message than the message being put forth by people like Kamala Harris, that America is systemically racist, and that you're always behind the eight ball, or Michelle Obama, that there's a never-ending list of black people being victimized in the United States right now?
00:46:18.000 Isn't that a more inspiring and a truer message?
00:46:21.000 So Scott says Democrats basically want to fundamentally transform the country, the same country that has allowed for that sort of progress.
00:46:27.000 Again, correct, Senator Scott.
00:46:30.000 Joe Biden's radical Democrats are trying to permanently transform what it means to be an American.
00:46:38.000 Make no mistake.
00:46:40.000 Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want a cultural revolution, a fundamentally different America.
00:46:48.000 If we let them, they will turn our country into a socialist utopia.
00:46:53.000 And history has taught us that path only leads to pain and misery, especially for hardworking people hoping to rise.
00:47:03.000 So the media's response to this was absolute abject horror that members of minority communities would dare speak as Republicans.
00:47:10.000 My favorite version of this was George Stephanopoulos grilling Nikki Haley on racism.
00:47:15.000 Because George Stephanopoulos, who is the whitest person in America, the Keebler elf, grilling Nikki Haley, the daughter of two Indian immigrants, on racism because George Stephanopoulos knows racism.
00:47:24.000 I mean, that's a man who knows racism, obviously.
00:47:26.000 Here he was, suggesting that Nikki Haley is truly making room for racists because she's supporting President Trump.
00:47:33.000 I asked you what President Trump has done to heal that racial divide, and you know, you wrote that you were deeply disturbed by President Trump's comments after Charlottesville.
00:47:41.000 Since then, he's tweeted out a video of his supporters chanting white power, praised the confederate flag, which you called divisive in your speech last night, so I'll ask the question again.
00:47:50.000 What specifically has President Trump done to address this systemic racism, the racial divide?
00:47:56.000 Well, I will tell you, first of all, President Trump has passed criminal justice reform, which Obama and Biden didn't do.
00:48:03.000 So my favorite thing from Democrats is when they question how President Trump has bridged the racial divide while Democrats are actively trying to widen the racial divide.
00:48:10.000 Actively doing it.
00:48:12.000 It doesn't make excuses for all the bad things Trump has said over the course of his career.
00:48:16.000 But right now, if you're looking at people who are actively attempting to create racial divides in the country, the Democrats, members of the media, but I repeat myself, are doing exactly that.
00:48:25.000 That's what you're watching happen ad nauseum in Wisconsin right now.
00:48:29.000 You're watching it happen day by day in the media right now.
00:48:32.000 And they cannot stand the fact that Republicans, actually, there's some minority Republicans who disagree with that Democratic agenda.
00:48:39.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today for two additional hours of content.
00:48:42.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow to recap night two of the RNC and whatever the Black Lives Matter rioters and looters decide to burn tomorrow or tonight.
00:48:50.000 We'll give you all the updates.
