The Ben Shapiro Show - RNC NIGHT 2...Plus, The Secret Service's SHOCKING Failures

00:00:00.000 Well, folks, last night was night two of the Republican National Convention.

00:00:02.000 It was an incredible show.

00:00:03.000 We're going to get to all that news, plus updates on the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.

00:00:08.000 The Secret Service's failures could not be more glaring.

00:00:11.000 I mean, it's really incredible.

00:00:12.000 We'll get to that in a moment.

00:00:13.000 First, one thing is clear in this election.

00:00:15.000 The fight for America's core values is more important than ever.

00:00:18.000 The Daily Wire is on the front lines of that fight.

00:00:26.000 promo code fight at checkouts to get started and hang out with us all the time because honestly

00:00:32.000 we're going to get better commentary opinion and fact-based coverage. Okay so last night was again

00:00:37.000 night two of the RNC and it was a unity night. Donald Trump promised a unity convention among

00:00:42.000 Republicans the unity is obviously materializing and it's materializing because let's be frank

00:00:47.000 about this Donald Trump for all those who have sort of a Marxist materialist view of history

00:00:51.000 in which figures don't matter that is clearly not true.

00:00:54.000 And Donald Trump is proof positive that that is not true.

00:00:57.000 That individual figures actually do shape history.

00:01:00.000 There's this whole materialist Marxist view that sort of goes back to Hegel actually predating Marx that suggests that we sort of ride the eddies of history.

00:01:09.000 That history is a series of impersonal forces and that individual figures don't matter.

00:01:14.000 That if there were no Churchill, there would have been somebody kind of like Churchill who would have performed the same function.

00:01:18.000 If there were no Hitler, there would have been somebody like Hitler who would have performed that same function. 0.97

00:01:22.000 And again, it goes for good or for ill.

00:01:24.000 Well, there's a countervailing view, which is what's been sort of derisively termed the great man view of history, which is the idea that individuals matter in history.

00:01:33.000 Donald Trump is an individual who matters in history.

00:01:35.000 Whether you like him or whether you hate him, that is just a reality.

00:01:38.000 And when you see the Republican Party come together around Donald Trump at this point, it's something absolutely unique.

00:01:45.000 Republicans came together around other candidates.

00:01:46.000 They've come together, you know, at every convention around Mitt Romney or John McCain.

00:01:50.000 But the level of enthusiasm for Donald Trump on a personal level, the level of adoration, obviously, in the hall for Donald Trump, the ability that Donald Trump has to cobble together a coalition that really is non-ideological.

00:02:02.000 That's the thing about Trump.

00:02:04.000 Trump is not an ideological figure.

00:02:06.000 And because Trump is not an ideological figure, he has not formed an ideological party.

00:02:10.000 Now, that doesn't mean that the actual policies that come out of his administration won't be ideological.

00:02:16.000 His first term was very ideological.

00:02:17.000 It was a fairly conservative administration, ideologically speaking, more conservative than George W. Bush's administration, ideologically speaking, at least when it came to, say, the courts or when it came to foreign policy.

00:02:29.000 However, when it comes to his coalition, his coalition is entirely non-ideological.

00:02:33.000 And that's why, you know, I do have some disagreements with some people, even people, you know, who I work with at Daily Wire about what the RNC is for.

00:02:40.000 So I've heard a lot of complaints.

00:02:41.000 And again, I agree with them on a moral level.

00:02:43.000 Why are some of these people speaking?

00:02:45.000 Like they have nothing to do with conservatism.

00:02:47.000 They're not spokespeople for conservatism.

00:02:49.000 But I don't think that's what the RNC is for.

00:02:51.000 The RNC is a showcase.

00:02:52.000 It's a permission structure for people to join the tent.

00:02:56.000 And again, what politics is all about is coalitions.

00:02:59.000 It's about coalition building.

00:03:00.000 It's about how many people can you give permission to, to join your side against the other side.

00:03:06.000 What Donald Trump has built is an anti-left coalition.

00:03:08.000 He's built a massive anti-left coalition.

00:03:11.000 And as the left has gone off the rails, again, there's a reactivity to American politics.

00:03:15.000 Because Trump is who Trump is, the left went completely off the rails.

00:03:19.000 And because they went completely off the rails, they forced everybody in the middle to Donald Trump's side.

00:03:24.000 This is what happened, for example, with Elon Musk.

00:03:26.000 This is what happened to a certain extent with me.

00:03:28.000 I mean, the fact is that I was not a voter for Donald Trump in 2016.

00:03:31.000 I didn't vote for either candidate in 2016 because frankly, I didn't like either candidate in 2016.

00:03:35.000 Then the left went completely off the rails and Donald Trump gave me more conservative policy than I thought I was gonna get.

00:03:40.000 And I voted for him in 2020.

00:03:41.000 And then the left went even further off the rails.

00:03:43.000 And now I'm a donor to President Trump.

00:03:45.000 And that is a good example.

00:03:46.000 J.D.

00:03:46.000 Vance, who is the now vice presidential candidate that Donald Trump picked, same sort of thing.

00:03:51.000 J.D.

00:03:51.000 was more strenuously anti-Trump than I was in 2016.

00:03:56.000 By 2020, he was a Trump backer.

00:03:57.000 By 2024, he's his vice presidential candidate.

00:04:00.000 And again, that is because Trump has a unique capacity as a non-ideological, larger-than-life figure to hold together coalitions that include people who are both pro-life and pro-choice, people who are pro-gay marriage and anti-gay marriage.

00:04:12.000 He's able to cobble together a coalition between union leaders and people who think that right-to-work is a top priority.

00:04:19.000 It's a non-ideological coalition.

00:04:21.000 That's what the RNC is about.

00:05:22.000 People who are looking to the RNC platform and criticizing the RNC platform,

00:05:26.000 understand the RNC platform is not an actual policy statement that matters.

00:05:30.000 It isn't.

00:05:32.000 That's not what the RNC is for anymore.

00:05:34.000 There may have been a time when the RNC platform matters.

00:05:37.000 There may have been a time when there was some sort of RNC that actually... The RNC is not a tool for ideology any longer.

00:05:45.000 It is not where you look to determine what Republicans or conservatives think.

00:05:49.000 It is merely a tool for victory.

00:05:51.000 And particularly it's a tool for victory for Donald Trump in this election cycle.

00:05:54.000 And so what you're seeing is an extraordinarily large tent, a tent that's largely unsupportable ideologically in the sense that the actual tent poles are so far apart than any normal circumstance they would collapse in on themselves.

00:06:07.000 But because Donald Trump is at the center of that tent, and he's an extraordinarily large and powerful Supporting and buttressing force in the center of that tent, that tent can hold.

00:06:17.000 And that's what you're seeing at the Republican National Convention right now.

00:06:22.000 That, of course, has only been exacerbated by the attempted assassination of President Trump on Saturday.

00:06:27.000 And we're finding out new details on this now.

00:06:28.000 And I gotta tell you, the Secret Service is just, it's beyond insane that anyone is still working at the Secret Service after this in a position of leadership.

00:06:39.000 Totally crazy.

00:06:41.000 So there's a graphic that somebody created that is astonishing.

00:06:46.000 I've said before that God's hand is on Trump.

00:06:48.000 I don't know why.

00:06:49.000 I'm not God.

00:06:49.000 I can't make, I can't reason that out for you.

00:06:53.000 For whatever reason, no matter what side you're on, I don't know how you look at this assassination attempt on Trump and you don't see God's hand in the picture.

00:07:01.000 I don't, I think that maybe it's because God wants America saved.

00:07:04.000 And I don't mean that in terms of God wants Trump to live because he must be president.

00:07:07.000 I mean, That if Donald Trump had been assassinated, it may have been the end of America.

00:07:12.000 Not because we're going to immediately pick up guns and go to civil war, but because the lack of trust in our civic institutions is so unbelievably high that if Donald Trump had been killed, and we now learn what we have learned about the Secret Service and their complete fail at every possible level, a Secret Service that works for a White House that is currently using the DOJ to target Donald Trump, The levels of trust are so low.

00:07:33.000 I'm not sure that the country could have withstood that if Trump had been killed on the stage on Saturday.

00:07:38.000 And he came within literally, literally centimeters of being murdered on the stage, his head being turned to mist in front of a national televised audience.

00:07:46.000 And so when God spared Donald Trump, I think God was really in some ways trying to spare America.

00:07:49.000 Again, I can't read God's mind.

00:07:50.000 I'm not God.

00:07:51.000 But, you know, as a religious person, I don't see how you can't attribute God in history to this incident.

00:08:01.000 And when you watch this video, maybe you don't believe that the Red Sea was split.

00:08:05.000 Maybe you don't believe that God spoke on top of a mountain.

00:08:09.000 Okay, but if you don't, if you don't see something at work here other than pure random chance, I kind of feel bad for you, frankly.

00:08:18.000 So here is, this is a bit, it's astonishing.

00:08:21.000 This is a video, so let me put it, it's a graphic.

00:08:24.000 of Trump speaking, and it's juxtaposed with a top-down view, like a bird's-eye view of Trump's head.

00:08:31.000 Because at the very last second here, Trump turns his head to look at the screen.

00:08:35.000 And if he doesn't turn his head at the last second here, he's dead.

00:08:38.000 So you see at the outset of this video is the shot line.

00:08:42.000 The shot line would have gone, presumably, through his right cheek, and it would have then blown out the back of his head.

00:08:50.000 That's what the original shot line would have done here.

00:08:53.000 And look at this video.

00:08:54.000 It's just astonishing.

00:08:59.000 He's speaking, he's speaking.

00:09:00.000 That shot line is still going through his head.

00:09:02.000 He turns at the last second.

00:09:03.000 Bullet one, right past his cheek. 0.54

00:09:05.000 Bullet two, through his ear.

00:09:08.000 Bullet three misses him completely because he moves from bullets one and bullets two.

00:09:14.000 Astonishing.

00:09:15.000 And he turns his head a split second before the bullets come.

00:09:19.000 That's how close they came.

00:09:20.000 And now we have new details.

00:09:21.000 How bad was the Secret Service's failing here?

00:09:24.000 Astonishingly bad.

00:09:26.000 Unthinkably bad.

00:09:28.000 Here is CNN's John Miller revealing more details.

00:09:32.000 They know that he went to his employer at the nursing home where he works as a dietary specialist before this and said, I need Saturday off.

00:09:41.000 I have something important to do.

00:09:43.000 We also understand that when he got to the fairgrounds where this rally was being held for Donald Trump, The first thing that puts him on the radar of security people is near the magnetometer area where they're screening people in, he's carrying in his hand a rangefinder.

00:10:01.000 It's a device that looks like a small pair of binoculars, but it's used by shooters to measure the distance when they're setting up a long-distance shot.

00:10:10.000 The last piece is The search of the car, as we reported last night, two remote controlled IEDs, remote controlled bombs, in the car.

00:10:21.000 The remote control for those devices found on his person on the roof, according to sources.

00:10:28.000 Three fully loaded magazines with nearly a hundred rounds, a bulletproof vest.

00:10:34.000 I mean, just amazing.

00:10:37.000 Just amazing.

00:10:38.000 Okay, and then we find out that according to the Wall Street Journal, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheadle addressed one of the central mysteries in the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

00:10:48.000 How the shooter was able to climb onto the top of a nearby building and have a clear sight line to Trump without being stopped.

00:10:53.000 Okay, so what happened?

00:10:56.000 According to the Secret Service head, Cheadle, quote, that building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point.

00:11:03.000 And so, you know, there's a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn't want to put somebody up on a sloped roof.

00:11:10.000 She added, the decision was made to secure the building from inside.

00:11:15.000 What the actual, wait, a sloped roof?

00:11:18.000 These are members of the Secret Service, of the Secret Service, a sloped roof?

00:11:23.000 First of all, the roof was plenty not sloped enough for the actual shooter to be on the roof, pointing a gun and shooting at the President of the United States.

00:11:32.000 I could navigate that sloped roof.

00:11:33.000 My kids could navigate that sloped roof.

00:11:36.000 But what?

00:11:36.000 They were afraid of some sort of OSHA violation?

00:11:38.000 If the Secret Service was up top, protecting the roof?

00:11:41.000 A sloped roof?

00:11:42.000 Are you kidding me?

00:11:44.000 So the police snipers were actually inside the same building on which the shooter was lying, according to the Washington Post.

00:11:53.000 Apparently, local PD were inside the building where a gunman had positioned himself on the roof to shoot at the former president.

00:11:59.000 From inside the Agra International Building, they spotted a man acting furtively walking back and forth around the building with some gear and radioed a Secret Service command post to alert them.

00:12:07.000 Again, this is unthinkably bad.

00:12:09.000 There is no failure in our lifetime that is nearly as bad as this.

00:12:13.000 It's way worse than Lee Harvey Oswald.

00:12:17.000 Lee Harvey Oswald, that location should have been secure, but that was driving a car, an open-air car, through a downtown area of Dallas.

00:12:24.000 This is a remote area of Butler, Pennsylvania, population 13,000.

00:12:28.000 With one building in sight, you had one job, one job, and you're telling me that a sloped roof prevented you from getting this guy?

00:12:36.000 And he came in with a scope, and you didn't stop him?

00:12:40.000 And everybody knew who he was?

00:12:41.000 And you had him in the sniper sights before?

00:12:44.000 And you waited for him to take the shot because you have a rule that until he takes the shot, you wouldn't want to kill an innocent person with a telescope on a roof that is too sloped for your people to be on?

00:12:53.000 That's the story?

00:12:55.000 That's the story here?

00:13:59.000 One of the things that makes these failures so astonishing is that there was already heightened scrutiny on Trump with regard to a possible assassination attempt.

00:14:07.000 We're now learning from the Wall Street Journal that the Biden administration in recent weeks determined there was an increased threat from Iran against former President Donald Trump that was serious enough to prompt additional security measures for the former president.

00:14:17.000 A national security official said, On Tuesday.

00:14:19.000 Apparently that had nothing to do with the attempted assassination of the former president of Pennsylvania on Saturday.

00:14:24.000 But that shows you two things.

00:14:25.000 Number one, you're constantly hearing about foreign countries.

00:14:28.000 Which candidate do they prefer? 0.99

00:14:30.000 Iran wants to kill Donald Trump. 0.76

00:14:32.000 Which candidate do you think Iran prefers? 0.87

00:14:35.000 Which candidate do you think they prefer?

00:14:36.000 Obviously they prefer Joe Biden.

00:14:37.000 Clearly and obviously, as well they should.

00:14:39.000 Because Joe Biden has been soft on the Iranians his entire administration. 0.97

00:14:43.000 He's entirely reshifted the power structure of the Middle East because he's pathetic with regard to the Iranians. 1.00

00:14:49.000 It's just unbelievable. 0.80

00:14:51.000 But the other issue here is just the Secret Service one.

00:14:54.000 If you upped your protection, how did a shooter get three shots off that came within inches of killing the former president of the United States after you upped the security?

00:15:04.000 That's totally insane.

00:15:06.000 It's totally crazy.

00:15:07.000 What's even more insane, of course, is that the Secret Service director, a woman named Kimberly Cheadle, as we mentioned, she actually said that the buck stops with her, but she's not going to resign.

00:15:19.000 What was your reaction when you saw the events unfold on Saturday?

00:15:23.000 Shock and then concern, obviously, for the former president.

00:15:28.000 This is an event that should have never happened.

00:15:30.000 Who is most responsible for this happening?

00:15:33.000 What I would say is the Secret Service is responsible for the protection of the former president.

00:15:37.000 So the buck stops with you?

00:15:39.000 The buck stops with me.

00:15:40.000 I am the director of the Secret Service.

00:15:42.000 It was unacceptable, and it's something that shouldn't happen again.

00:15:45.000 The President and Homeland Security Secretary said today they had 100% confidence in you, but there are some members of Congress calling on you to resign.

00:15:54.000 I appreciate the Secretary's comments, and we're going to continue to be transparent and communicate with people.

00:16:00.000 Do you plan to stay on, absolutely?

00:16:02.000 I do plan to stay on.

00:16:05.000 What the? 0.95

00:16:05.000 What the hell? 0.95

00:16:06.000 What the hell? 0.98

00:16:07.000 You have to be transparent and honest. 0.79

00:16:08.000 They're not being transparent.

00:16:09.000 They're not being honest.

00:16:10.000 And she's going to stay on because in the new world, no one loses their job for failure.

00:16:15.000 No one.

00:16:16.000 This, by the way, is a point that Donald Trump made during that debate.

00:16:18.000 It was overshadowed, obviously, by the fact that Joe Biden is totally senile.

00:16:21.000 But in the debate, he said, you don't fire anybody.

00:16:24.000 How come after Afghanistan, no one gets fired? 0.99

00:16:27.000 How?

00:16:27.000 How is that possible?

00:16:28.000 And the answer is no one gets fired in DEI land.

00:16:31.000 You don't get fired over here.

00:16:33.000 She's one of the first females in a position of power at the Secret Service. 0.98

00:16:37.000 We can't fire her. 0.97

00:16:38.000 She literally presided over the greatest Secret Service failure since Ronald Reagan was shot in the 80s.

00:16:45.000 And she's keeping her job? 0.99

00:16:46.000 How?

00:16:47.000 How is that even remotely possible?

00:16:49.000 You had one job.

00:16:50.000 Literally one.

00:16:51.000 Well, that and policing counterfeiting.

00:16:54.000 One job.

00:16:55.000 That's it.

00:16:56.000 Unreal.

00:16:57.000 Absolutely unreal.

00:16:59.000 Well, Donald Trump Jr., the son of the president, obviously has a lot of reasons to be angry at the Secret Service as well as, for example, the FBI.

00:17:05.000 The FBI is doing an investigation.

00:17:07.000 And Don Jr.

00:17:07.000 says, why would I trust the FBI?

00:17:09.000 The FBI is the same organization that attempted to essentially launder Do you have confidence in the FBI to get the bottom of this?

00:17:17.000 Not even a little bit.

00:17:17.000 my father. Why would I trust them? And herein lies the problem. The institutions have become

00:17:22.000 so perverted. They become such repositories of failure and uselessness. Why would you 0.81

00:17:27.000 trust them just on a competence level to do the right thing?

00:17:29.000 Forget about the sort of conspiracy theories that the Secret Service was in on it or

00:17:33.000 something. Just on a competence level, why would you trust them?

00:17:38.000 Do you have confidence in the FBI to get the bottom of this?

00:17:40.000 Not even a little bit. Not even a little bit.

00:17:43.000 I mean, do you blame Don Jr.

00:17:46.000 there?

00:17:47.000 I don't.

00:17:48.000 Anyway, all of this was prelude to night two of the RNC.

00:17:52.000 So night two of the RNC happens.

00:17:54.000 Donald Trump again makes his big entry.

00:17:56.000 He still has the bandage on his ear because, of course, he got shot in the ear on Saturday.

00:17:59.000 As we'll see, there are a lot of people on the left who are very upset with the bandage on the ear.

00:18:03.000 They gotta find something to be upset about.

00:18:05.000 But here is President Trump's entry once again.

00:18:07.000 Extraordinarily raucous, very warm.

00:18:09.000 He's unified the party like nobody in my lifetime.

00:18:13.000 President Donald J. Trump.

00:18:17.000 He walks out again.

00:18:24.000 Crowd goes berserk.

00:18:30.000 Again, as well they should.

00:18:34.000 He's a historic figure, no matter what you think of him.

00:18:37.000 Okay, so what was the reaction of the left-wing media to Donald Trump's entry?

00:18:40.000 Well, Ari Melber over on MSNBC decided that the major issue here is that he has a bandage on his ear, because he got shot in the ear.

00:18:47.000 Here's Ari Melber doing what the left media do. 1.00

00:18:52.000 A placard for delegates to fill in, an image for political mobilization, a spectacle for this candidate who we know is, by his own admission, obsessed with assorted spectacles.

00:19:04.000 These aren't normal times.

00:19:06.000 This is not a normal convention.

00:19:08.000 Whether that makes it abnormal in a way that is either special or abnormal in a way that is bad is what voters will assess because many are watching over the course of these nights along with you and our team here.

00:19:22.000 There is a political quest here to mine and use Donald Trump's injury and whether his allies and Republicans or the candidate himself do that in a way that overextends their credibility Will be decided by the voters.

00:19:37.000 Oh, they're overextending.

00:19:39.000 You see, when someone tries to shoot the president in the head, they're overextending to point out that Donald Trump was almost shot in the head.

00:19:46.000 It's an overextension.

00:19:47.000 Good luck with this particular argument.

00:19:49.000 So, on to the actual content of the RNC.

00:19:52.000 So, for me, there are a lot of politicians who spoke.

00:19:54.000 Again, a wide variety of politicians will get into those political speeches.

00:19:57.000 Some were better than others.

00:19:58.000 But the people who are really most effective were the normal Americans who got up and talked about life under Joe Biden.

00:20:04.000 It was very much of a piece with our series, Divided States of America, which is focused in on things like immigration and fentanyl and crime.

00:20:13.000 There was a woman named Ann Funder who came out and talked about the death of her 15-year-old son to fentanyl.

00:20:21.000 If you want to know kind of everything you need to know about Joe Biden's open border, about fentanyl traffic in the United States, again, check out our series, Divided States of Biden, over at Daily Wire Plus, and become a subscriber, which you should do anyway, to learn more about this.

00:20:33.000 Here is Ann Funder, again, hard not to be moved when you hear a mom talking about the death of her son from fentanyl poisoning.

00:20:40.000 And it is fentanyl poisoning.

00:20:41.000 Here we go.

00:20:43.000 We had family dinners and barbecues at the beach, and like most teenagers, Weston wanted to fit in.

00:20:51.000 And in a moment of peer pressure, he tried something that someone gave to him, and it took my baby's life.

00:20:59.000 This was not an overdose, it was a poisoning.

00:21:03.000 His whole future, everything we ever wanted for him, was ripped away in an instant.

00:21:09.000 And Joe Biden does nothing.

00:21:12.000 I hold Joe Biden, Mala Harris, the borders are.

00:21:18.000 What a joke.

00:21:19.000 And Gavin Newsom and every Democrat who supports open borders responsible for the death of my son.

00:21:29.000 Powerful stuff, and I'm not sure exactly how Joe Biden rebuts that, considering his open borders policy.

00:21:34.000 We'll get to more on this in a moment.

00:21:35.000 First, getting in credit card debt is really easy, but getting out?

00:21:37.000 Well, the system is set up so it's very hard to get out of debt.

00:21:40.000 If you're struggling with credit cards, personal loans, collections, or medical bills, you need to check out PDS Debt.

00:21:45.000 PDS provides a service to match you with debt solutions tailored to your financial situation.

00:21:58.000 Bad and fair credit is accepted.

00:22:00.000 You know, the reality is that, again, there are a lot of people who get into debt.

00:22:03.000 Sometimes not your fault.

00:22:04.000 And very often, it's very hard to get out.

00:22:06.000 Once you're in credit card debt, you can be absolutely destroyed by it.

00:22:09.000 Well, PDS Debt can help you out because PDS will help you tailor specific solutions to your specific problems to help you become debt-free.

00:22:30.000 Go check them out right now.

00:22:31.000 pdsdebt.com slash ben.

00:22:34.000 To get started, it only takes 30 seconds to get evaluated.

00:22:36.000 And again, these issues are incredibly real.

00:22:39.000 Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for young Americans in terms of sort of medical cause of death at this point.

00:22:48.000 Extraordinary numbers of young Americans dying of fentanyl poisoning.

00:22:51.000 And it is poisoning, because we explain in the documentary, a grain of fentanyl is enough to kill you.

00:22:55.000 And it's being laced into pretty much every illegal drug that's out there.

00:22:58.000 Meanwhile, another sort of everyday American named Madeline Brame, she talked about the murder of her retired veteran son.

00:23:08.000 My son, Sergeant Hassan Karia, an Afghanistan War retired veteran, He received enemy fire from the Taliban, only to be murdered with a knife on the streets of New York City.

00:23:28.000 The four assailants responsible for his death initially were facing justice, but that changed when District Attorney Alvin Bragg was elected.

00:23:43.000 Suddenly, Two of the homicidal maniacs responsible for my son's death had their gang assault and murder charges completely dismissed.

00:23:59.000 Again, those sorts of stories are going to be very effective for independents and moderates in this particular race.

00:24:05.000 Then, of course, there's the cavalcade of various Republican figures, many of whom were sort of up for the VP nod, and then, obviously, J.D.

00:24:11.000 Vance was picked.

00:24:12.000 One of those people is Representative Elise Stefanik from New York, who's taken a leading role in American minds thanks to her grilling of university presidents. 0.99

00:24:20.000 Here she was going off on why President Trump is going to win.

00:24:25.000 President Trump will once again deliver the most secure border in our nation's history and unleash the American economy.

00:24:32.000 And he will bring peace through strength as Commander-in-Chief, standing with our allies and causing our enemies to fear us.

00:24:41.000 President Trump has done it before and he will do it again.

00:24:45.000 This November, we are counting on you, we the people, to save America by electing President Donald J. Trump.

00:24:54.000 It is clear for the whole world to see, nothing, absolutely nothing will stop President Trump from standing and fighting for our great country.

00:25:07.000 Perhaps the best speech of the night was actually Vivek Ramaswamy.

00:25:11.000 So, Vivek, who ran a shock campaign, obviously.

00:25:14.000 He came from literally nowhere to become a national figure in an extraordinarily short period of time.

00:25:18.000 Vivek is super bright.

00:25:19.000 Here is Vivek's speech at the RNC.

00:25:23.000 What does it mean to be a Republican in the year 2024?

00:25:27.000 What does it mean to be an American in the year 2024?

00:25:31.000 It means we believe in the ideals of 1776.

00:25:35.000 It means we believe in merit.

00:25:37.000 That you get ahead in this country, not on the color of your skin, but on the content of your character and your contributions.

00:25:46.000 Vivek actually did a speech not all that long ago at the National Conservative Convention, which he discussed what he called national libertarianism, as opposed to sort of national protectionism, which is a much more free market oriented version of some of what JD Vance talks about.

00:25:58.000 It's a fascinating speech and it's well worth the read for sure.

00:26:01.000 Again, this is a diverse party and that diversity was on display last night.

00:26:05.000 Nikki Haley was sort of the big moment of the night.

00:26:08.000 She, of course, ran the longest campaign against President Trump in the primary.

00:26:11.000 She was the most critical of President Trump in the primary.

00:26:12.000 She offered her endorsement on the stage.

00:26:14.000 And again, this is a big thing.

00:26:15.000 It's not a small thing.

00:26:17.000 There are a lot of people in the Republican Party who are saying, well, I'm going to hold out because if Nikki's holding out, then I'm going to hold out too.

00:26:22.000 But the reality is that Nikki Haley was in Donald Trump's cabinet.

00:26:25.000 Nikki Haley knows better than anyone that Donald Trump is going to do a much better job as president of the United States than Joe Biden.

00:26:32.000 And politics is a game of egos.

00:26:34.000 In politics, Feathers get ruffled.

00:26:37.000 Egos get bruised. 1.00

00:26:39.000 Nikki Haley coming out and doing the right thing and endorsing Donald Trump is a big moment for Nikki Haley and it is very good for the Republican Party.

00:26:45.000 Here's the former governor of South Carolina and UN ambassador.

00:26:49.000 President Trump asked me to speak to this convention in the name of unity.

00:26:55.000 It was a gracious invitation and I was happy to accept.

00:27:00.000 I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear.

00:27:05.000 Donald Trump has my strong endorsement, period.

00:27:11.000 I'm here tonight because we have a country to save.

00:27:16.000 And a unified Republican Party is essential for saving her.

00:27:24.000 And Trump's reaction, which is magnanimous there, again, it speaks to the fact that he does actually want to unify the party.

00:27:30.000 There are a lot of former rivals who came out of the woodwork to speak about President Trump last night.

00:27:34.000 Ted Cruz, of course, was his chief rival in 2016.

00:27:36.000 Here was Senator Cruz, who, of course, has become a very, very strong Trump ally in the years since 2016.

00:27:43.000 Today, as a result of Joe Biden's presidency, your family is less safe.

00:27:51.000 Your children are less safe.

00:27:54.000 The country is less safe.

00:27:58.000 But here's the good news.

00:28:00.000 We can fix it.

00:28:02.000 And when Donald Trump is president, we will fix it.

00:28:08.000 Well, all these folks flew into the RNC.

00:28:10.000 I'll tell you what they could have used.

00:28:11.000 They could have used some balance of nature because the reality is when you're flying around the country for work and you're constantly on the go, you have to keep your health at your very best.

00:28:18.000 Listen, when I'm traveling around, I exercise or try to get enough sleep.

00:28:21.000 I try to eat well.

00:28:22.000 But here's the thing.

00:28:23.000 I need balance of nature.

00:28:24.000 Balance of nature fits right into my day-to-day.

00:28:26.000 Imagine trying to eat 31 different fruits and vegetables every day.

00:28:28.000 That sounds miserable and time-consuming.

00:28:30.000 With Balance of Nature fruits and veggies, there's never been a more convenient dietary supplement

00:28:33.000 to ensure you get a wide variety of fruits and veggies every day with 31 different whole fruit

00:28:37.000 and vegetable ingredients.

00:28:39.000 Balance of Nature takes fruits and veggies, they freeze dry them, they turn them into a powder,

00:28:41.000 then they put them into a capsule.

00:28:43.000 You take your fruit and veggie capsules every day and your body knows what to do with them.

00:28:46.000 They're kosher, which is how I can take them in the smoothies, they keep me going strong.

00:28:49.000 Go to balanceofnature.com, use promo code Shapiro for 35% off your first order as a preferred customer.

00:29:01.000 Everybody is very happy with the results.

00:29:08.000 Governor Ron DeSantis, of course, was the person who probably had the strongest shot of beating Trump in the primaries very early on.

00:29:14.000 He made the right decision to drop out of the race when he didn't win Iowa and did poorly in New Hampshire.

00:29:19.000 He's still the most successful governor in America, down in my home state of Florida.

00:29:23.000 Again, he was the person I'd picked in the primaries above President Trump, if he'd made it that far in the primaries.

00:29:30.000 He, of course, endorsed Trump very early, as soon as he dropped out of the race.

00:29:32.000 He spoke last night, at probably the line of the night, talking about how we need somebody who's not a weekend at Bernie's president.

00:29:39.000 As a citizen, as a husband and as a father, I am alarmed that the current President of the United States lacks the capability to discharge the duties of his office.

00:29:53.000 Our enemies do not confine their designs to between 10 a.m.

00:29:57.000 and 4 p.m.

00:30:02.000 We need a commander-in-chief who can lead 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

00:30:09.000 America cannot afford four more years of a weekend at Bernie's presidency.

00:30:19.000 That, of course, is obviously true.

00:30:21.000 And of course, there were some other jokes that were told about the fact that Joe Biden is no longer sentient.

00:30:26.000 Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is the former press secretary for President Trump and now is the governor of Arkansas, she joked about who exactly is the president of the United States.

00:30:37.000 I got the chance to take my four-year-old son, Huck, to bring your kid to work day.

00:30:43.000 Much like Jill now drags Joe to bring your husband to work day. 1.00

00:30:52.000 It's a good line and it ain't wrong.

00:30:54.000 It's kind of true.

00:30:56.000 Other highlights of the evening.

00:30:57.000 Senator Tom Cotton, again from Arkansas, he went off on immigration.

00:31:01.000 Of course, this may be the single platform in the Republican Party plank that everybody agrees on as a stronger position on immigration. 0.90

00:31:07.000 The party's all over the damn place on a wide variety of issues.

00:31:10.000 But on immigration, there is relative policy unity. 0.97

00:31:15.000 After Joe Biden and the border czar Kamala Harris, Reversed President Trump's immigration policies and welcomed a third world invasion, I traveled to our border.

00:31:28.000 What did I see?

00:31:30.000 The body of a migrant drowned in the Rio Grande.

00:31:34.000 Human traffickers on the Southern Bank taunting the Border Patrol.

00:31:40.000 Migrants huddled under a bridge.

00:31:44.000 I asked them why they came.

00:31:48.000 None said persecution.

00:31:50.000 Most said for a job.

00:31:51.000 A few admitted because they could get in.

00:31:57.000 Another answered with one simple word.

00:32:01.000 Biden.

00:32:04.000 Again, on immigration, Joe Biden continues to be extraordinarily vulnerable.

00:32:08.000 Again, underscoring all of the Republican unity is the fact that Joe Biden has been such an awful president.

00:32:12.000 He's been so terrible.

00:32:13.000 And so Republicans are coalescing in extraordinary fashion.

00:32:17.000 Dr. Ben Carson, who is of course the head of housing and urban development under Donald Trump, he spoke last night as well.

00:32:22.000 Again, he was a cavalcade, a lot of speakers last night.

00:32:26.000 Let me tell you the weapons that they used.

00:32:28.000 First, they tried to ruin his reputation.

00:32:31.000 And he's more popular now than ever.

00:32:38.000 And then they tried to bankrupt him, and he's got more money now than he had before.

00:32:44.000 And then they tried to put him in prison, and he's freer and has made other people free with him.

00:32:56.000 And then, and then last weekend they tried to kill him, and there he is over there, alive and well.

00:33:07.000 Now, of course, the quibble here is it's not the same they.

00:33:11.000 I mean, some of these theys are actual forces in the government, like the DOJ, right?

00:33:18.000 Some of these theys are the Democratic Party trying to twice impeach him.

00:33:21.000 We still don't know, there's no evidence the shooter was working for the Democratic Party, God forbid, or that he was working for the White House, God forbid, or anything like that.

00:33:28.000 But the generalized point stands, which is Donald Trump has had everything, including bullets thrown at him, and he is still standing.

00:33:34.000 That, of course, is a point made by Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of the president and current head of the RNC.

00:33:40.000 She said, this president does not back down.

00:33:41.000 That certainly is true.

00:33:44.000 I have seen this man dragged through hell and back, in and out of courtrooms, indictments, impeachments, mugshots, and even an assassination attempt.

00:33:56.000 And yet, he has never backed down.

00:34:02.000 Marco Rubio was one of the keynoters of the night.

00:34:05.000 Senator Rubio from Florida.

00:34:07.000 He is making the case, again, for more populist conservatism.

00:34:11.000 That, of course, is sort of the rhetorical case that the Trump campaign has made throughout.

00:34:15.000 Presumably, we're going to get a lot of that tonight from Senator J.D.

00:34:18.000 Vance, now the vice presidential nominee.

00:34:20.000 Tucker Carlson is also speaking tonight.

00:34:22.000 He presumably will make much the same case.

00:34:24.000 Here is Senator Rubio making some of that case last night.

00:34:28.000 The last few days remind us That the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind is in the hands of God.

00:34:40.000 We were brought to the precipice of the abyss and by the hand of God, reminded of what truly matters in our lives and in our country.

00:34:52.000 This thing we do called politics, it matters.

00:34:55.000 It's not unimportant.

00:34:57.000 But it is our people who must always matter the most in everything we do.

00:35:05.000 Well, coming up, obviously Joe Biden is in serious trouble.

00:35:09.000 And folks, if you want all the updates on this, not only that, if you want to be part of the fight, then you really do need to show up over at Daily Wire and subscribe.

00:35:25.000 Those principles are the bedrock values that will propel Donald Trump back to the White House in November.

00:35:30.000 And let's be clear, Obviously, I believe this.

00:35:32.000 I donated money to the man.

00:35:33.000 I held fundraisers for him.

00:35:35.000 Donald Trump needs to be the next president of the United States.

00:35:38.000 At The Daily Wire, we're not just kind of pontificating about conservative values.

00:35:41.000 We are fighting for them every single day.

00:35:42.000 And now we need your help.

00:35:44.000 Obviously, for a very limited time, we are offering our special presidential deal.

00:35:48.000 47% off your annual membership.

00:35:49.000 Again, that is 47% off.

00:35:50.000 And yes, that number is Okay, meanwhile.

00:35:52.000 Well, now on the other side of the aisle, Joe Biden continues to collapse in on himself like a dying star.

00:35:56.000 I mean, it is astonishing.

00:35:57.000 Astonishing.

00:35:57.000 that is not filtered through the left's propaganda machine.

00:36:00.000 So here's what you need to do.

00:36:01.000 Go to dailywire.com right now, use code fight at checkout to get your 47% discount.

00:36:05.000 Your support isn't just appreciated, it's crucial.

00:36:07.000 Once again, go to dailywire.com, use code fight at checkout and let's get to work.

00:36:11.000 Okay, meanwhile.

00:36:12.000 Well, now on the other side of the aisle, Joe Biden continues to collapse in on himself

00:36:16.000 like a dying star.

00:36:16.000 I mean, it is astonishing, astonishing.

00:36:18.000 So apparently he did a call on Saturday night with a bunch of Democratic representatives,

00:36:24.000 Democratic politicians, and he just broke down.

00:36:27.000 He just started babbling nonsensically.

00:36:30.000 According to Puck, quote, the campaign did not dispute this next part about Crowe and his bronze star.

00:36:36.000 So there's a representative named Jason Crowe.

00:36:39.000 of Minnesota. He served in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and he led a platoon of paratroopers

00:36:43.000 during the invasion of Iraq and earned the Bronze Star for his combat actions during the invasion.

00:36:48.000 He also served two additional tours in Afghanistan. He had the temerity to ask Joe Biden about

00:36:53.000 losing the race and Joe Biden apparently started yelling at him. He said, first of all, I think

00:36:59.000 you're dead wrong on national security. Apparently, he said, at times garbling his words.

00:37:04.000 This is according to people on the call.

00:37:05.000 You saw what happened recently in terms of the meeting we had with NATO.

00:37:07.000 I put NATO together.

00:37:08.000 Name me a foreign leader who thinks I'm not the most effective leader in the world on foreign policy.

00:37:12.000 Tell me.

00:37:12.000 Tell me who the hell that is.

00:37:13.000 Tell me who put NATO back together.

00:37:15.000 Tell me who enlarged NATO.

00:37:16.000 Tell me who did the Pacific Basin.

00:37:17.000 Tell me who did something you've never done with your bronze star like my son.

00:37:20.000 I'm proud of your leadership, but guess what?

00:37:21.000 What's happening?

00:37:22.000 We've got Korea and Japan working together.

00:37:23.000 I put AUKUS together anyway.

00:37:25.000 Things are in chaos.

00:37:25.000 I'm bringing some order to it.

00:37:26.000 And again, find me a world leader who's an ally of ours who doesn't think I'm the most respected person they've ever...

00:37:34.000 Well, yes, it is not breaking through to the voters.

00:37:37.000 And not only that, everybody is freaking out.

00:37:39.000 So according to the New York Times, resurgent Trump has Democrats in swing districts despondent.

00:37:44.000 Adam Frisch, a Democrat trying to flip a Republican House seat in Colorado, was frustrated enough that calls for President Biden to step aside, including his own, were having no impact on the president.

00:37:52.000 Then reports came Tuesday that leaders of the DNC were moving to confirm Biden as his party's presidential nominee by the end of July and his anger boiled over.

00:37:59.000 It's so frustrating to Democratic voters, to donors, to the double haters who don't like Biden or Trump.

00:38:03.000 This is why people hate politics.

00:38:04.000 It looks like the books are being cooked.

00:38:06.000 And that's right, they're accelerating.

00:38:09.000 The virtual roll call vote, having it this month, in order to sort of get past the final point.

00:38:15.000 And again, you can see why they're doing this.

00:38:16.000 If you're Joe Biden's campaign, what you're figuring is, back in 2016, Donald Trump, very unpopular with large swaths of the Republican Party, consolidates the party, wins.

00:38:24.000 Once it's done, it's done, and everybody sort of comes home.

00:38:26.000 And that's what Biden is figuring.

00:38:27.000 He's figuring, I'm only losing by three, four points nationally.

00:38:30.000 I'm losing by three, two, five points in the swing states.

00:38:32.000 Maybe if everybody comes home and stops, Then maybe I can put this thing back together.

00:38:37.000 And so they're trying to accelerate the confirmation.

00:38:39.000 The problem is that they're doing this in the middle of a news cycle and in the middle of a reality in which Joe Biden is spinning out, in which he is falling apart.

00:38:48.000 Vulnerable Democrats have the sinking feeling they could face far-reaching losses in November, according to the New York Times.

00:38:53.000 Representative Hillary Shulton, a Democrat who flipped a Republican seat in Western Michigan

00:38:56.000 two years ago, said, quote, we're continuing to see polling of a chilling effect on young people

00:39:00.000 of decreased enthusiasm. That's why it's incumbent on us to make this change now.

00:39:04.000 More and more Democrats are rebelling.

00:39:08.000 According to Axios, Democratic members of Congress are reviving a fight over President Biden's candidacy, filing a brief respite in the wake of Saturday's assassination attempt against former President Trump.

00:39:18.000 A House Democrat said people are back to being angry at Biden, and a push to sign on to this letter is going around to replace Biden movement is back.

00:39:26.000 A letter circulating among congressional Democrats argues there's no legal justification for an early virtual roll call after Ohio moved its filing deadline past the date of the Democratic convention.

00:39:35.000 Jamie Harrison has been lying about this.

00:39:38.000 He says the suggestion the timeline for the virtual roll call has been accelerated is false.

00:39:43.000 Well, then he proceeded to get in a fight with Nate Silver.

00:39:47.000 Hey, Nate Silver was like, uh, you're lying.

00:39:50.000 He says, Jamie, I'm not a pollster.

00:39:51.000 I didn't promise a red wave.

00:39:52.000 The data's here.

00:39:53.000 Actual experts have weighed in and said you're spreading misinformation.

00:39:55.000 You should probably stop lying.

00:39:57.000 You and the White House have run the whole campaign on the premise that you could BS your way through things.

00:40:01.000 It's early enough so as not to be unsalvageable, but you've put Democrats in an incredibly difficult position.

00:40:05.000 Enough with the BS.

00:40:07.000 Jamie Harrison then responded, Nate, in all due respect, I don't care what you think.

00:40:13.000 The bottom line is this.

00:40:14.000 We will meet the August 7th deadline and our nominee will be on the ticket.

00:40:17.000 And Nate Silver responded, there is no August 7th deadline.

00:40:19.000 You're making that up.

00:40:20.000 It's a complete firefight inside the Democratic Party.

00:40:25.000 Adam Schiff is warning of gigantic losses, according to the New York Times.

00:40:29.000 He said, I think if he's our nominee, we lose.

00:40:31.000 We may very well lose the Senate and lose our chance to take back the House as well.

00:40:35.000 And he ain't wrong.

00:40:36.000 He ain't wrong.

00:40:37.000 And that is all being exacerbated by the fact that Joe Biden cannot hold himself together for more than two sentences.

00:40:44.000 So Joe Biden was asked on national TV, you said that you would be a transitional figure.

00:40:48.000 He literally said this in 2019, that he would be there.

00:40:51.000 And the implication, the heavy implication was he was going to be there for one term.

00:40:55.000 So he's on BET News and he was asked about it.

00:40:57.000 And he said, well, yeah, I mean, I basically did say that, but then things got worse.

00:41:01.000 Well, because of you and you got worse, dude.

00:41:05.000 Originally Rand, you may remember it, I said I was going to be a transitional candidate.

00:41:10.000 And I thought that I'd be able to move from this, just pass it on to someone else.

00:41:14.000 But I didn't anticipate things getting so, so, so divided.

00:41:20.000 And quite frankly, I think The only thing, age brings a little bit of wisdom.

00:41:25.000 And I think I've demonstrated that I know how to get things done for the country, in spite of the fact that we couldn't get it done.

00:41:33.000 But there's more to do, and I'm reluctant to walk away from that.

00:41:38.000 So apparently, again, he was lying.

00:41:40.000 He said he was going to be transitional.

00:41:41.000 He's not.

00:41:42.000 He wants to stay.

00:41:43.000 Also, he has the best possible replacement insurance in Kamala Harris, who everyone hates.

00:41:47.000 So he spoke at the NAACP yesterday.

00:41:50.000 And he just fell all over himself.

00:41:52.000 All over himself.

00:41:53.000 Even the idea he could make through a teleprompter speech at this point is a disaster.

00:41:57.000 So he began by praising the NAACP.

00:42:01.000 For the race riots in Springfield, Illinois in 1908, the NAACP was formed.

00:42:07.000 That's what started it.

00:42:11.000 The NAAC.

00:42:12.000 It was the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

00:42:14.000 That's what it originally stood for.

00:42:15.000 Again, that term is out of use now, so they just kept the acronym.

00:42:18.000 But it's not the NAAC.

00:42:20.000 Then Biden started rambling, because hey, why not?

00:42:24.000 We're going to bring rents down, as I said.

00:42:26.000 We're going to build 2 million affordable homes.

00:42:28.000 And cap rent increases at 5% a year, so corporate landlords can't... God... Anyway, I don't want to get going.

00:42:36.000 I'm gonna get very upset.

00:42:37.000 Anyway, I won't get going is his get out of jail free card for I don't know where I am

00:42:40.000 in the teleprompter and I don't know what the hell is going on.

00:42:42.000 Anyway, just how do you do it anyway on a teleprompter?

00:42:45.000 How's that even possible?

00:42:46.000 I've used a teleprompter as long as the teleprompter doesn't fritz out.

00:42:50.000 My dude, you have the capacity to actually read it.

00:42:54.000 You would think.

00:42:54.000 Then Joe Biden said he was going to cap raises of rent.

00:42:58.000 Now, his proposal, which is insane enough, is that he was going to cap the raises of rent at 5% and then penalize developers and landlords who don't abide by that rule.

00:43:09.000 Now he says he's going to cap raises of rent at $55 because he can't read words anymore.

00:43:15.000 The idea, the idea that corporate-owned housing is able to raise your rent three, four hundred bucks a month or something, under what I'm about to announce, they can't raise it more

00:43:27.000 than $55.

00:43:31.000 Well, that's weird because that's not the actual proposal.

00:43:40.000 Again, this babbling old man is their best hope.

00:43:43.000 He's their best hope.

00:43:44.000 And it didn't stop for Joe Biden at the NAACP.

00:43:46.000 I mean, between the demagoguery and the senility, that's a hell of a combination.

00:43:50.000 So he demagogued on George Floyd.

00:43:52.000 And this is somebody who said on Sunday he needs to bring down the temperature.

00:43:55.000 Is this bringing down the temperature?

00:43:56.000 Is this cooling it down, Mr. President?

00:44:00.000 And you peacefully protested George Floyd's murder.

00:44:02.000 Donald Trump called for the National Guard to go after you. 0.94

00:44:05.000 What the hell's the matter with this man? 0.60

00:44:08.000 When you protested George Floyd's murder, he called on the National Guard to go after you. 0.94

00:44:11.000 That's not what happened.

00:44:12.000 The most damaging riots in American history happened. 0.84

00:44:16.000 But apparently Joe Biden thinks that Donald Trump just randomly attacks black people.

00:44:20.000 In other news, Joe Biden says that one of his best friends growing up was named Mouse.

00:44:24.000 This is during the period of time when he also had a person he knew named Corn Pop.

00:44:29.000 So it was an interesting time.

00:44:30.000 It was an interesting time in the Newsies, gang.

00:44:35.000 And one of my best friends, when I was a lifeguard in the projects, his nickname was Mouse.

00:44:44.000 Good story, dude.

00:44:45.000 Good story.

00:44:46.000 By the way, there is a new polling memo out from the Democratic Party that shows that he is now running behind every alternative Democratic candidate in the battleground states.

00:44:53.000 He made his way back to the microphone, by the way, just to stop by and just say random stuff right there.

00:44:57.000 Apparently, the strongest potential candidates are in order.

00:45:00.000 Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

00:45:06.000 None of them are going to be the nominee.

00:45:07.000 None of them.

00:45:08.000 It's going to be this guy.

00:45:10.000 So, good luck with that.

00:45:11.000 By the way, that guy also is so desperate that he is now pitching the possibility of announcing major Supreme Court changes.

00:45:18.000 According to the Washington Post, he is finalizing plans to endorse major changes to the Supreme Court in coming weeks, including proposals for legislation to establish term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code, according to two people briefed on the plans.

00:45:31.000 He also is calling for a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other constitutional office holders. 0.98

00:45:36.000 Okay, all this is crap. 0.98

00:45:37.000 None of it makes any sense. 0.98

00:45:38.000 It is a way of trying to lock down the base sufficient so he can get through the next couple of weeks and ensure his nomination.

00:45:45.000 There is a great irony to him calling for term limits on justices so that they're not too old.

00:45:49.000 Yeah, good luck with all that.

00:45:50.000 Again, this guy is in serious trouble.

00:45:52.000 This campaign is in serious trouble, which is why, according to the New York Times, he's been hunkered down with the members of his family.

00:45:57.000 Quote, he's relying on members of his family, a tight-knit clan that includes son Hunter and first lady Joe Biden, along with a tiny group of loyalists to sear him through a self-created crisis and call a rising rebellion against his candidacy from within his own party.

00:46:09.000 So if you thought that the headlines were going to move away from Joe Biden and he'd be able to kind of quietly sneak through, not so much, not so much.

00:46:17.000 Alrighty, folks, joining us on the line, my friend Dan Bongino, host of the Dan Bongino Show.

00:46:22.000 Dan is at the RNC.

00:46:24.000 So let me just start with this.

00:46:25.000 Dan, it must be unbelievable to be there.

00:46:27.000 I've never seen a unity conference quite like this one.

00:46:29.000 What are you making of the RNC so far?

00:46:33.000 Yeah, I mean, Ben, I don't think there's any objective person who would say otherwise.

00:46:39.000 You know, former President Trump's been on a roll.

00:46:42.000 We had the debate performance, the Jack Smith, Eileen Cannon decision.

00:46:47.000 You had the Biden follow-up dreadful interviews with Lester Holt and others, which just compounded a bad situation.

00:46:54.000 And then you had, I mean, an obvious tragedy.

00:46:57.000 I think that's fairly obvious.

00:46:58.000 He was almost killed.

00:47:00.000 But not only does he survive an attempted assassination attempt, Ben, but he gets up and delivers one of the most iconic photos in American political history, telling the crowd to fight that even liberals had to acknowledge.

00:47:13.000 I think one of them is afraid it's a free campaign ad.

00:47:15.000 And you're seeing that.

00:47:16.000 We've been here.

00:47:17.000 We've been here since Monday.

00:47:18.000 Monday was a little slow.

00:47:20.000 Tuesday, it was electric when he walked in.

00:47:23.000 But there's a different energy here.

00:47:25.000 You know, it was weird.

00:47:26.000 And, you know, the 2020 virtual kind of RNC mix mash they had, it was almost a depression around the country with COVID and everything.

00:47:34.000 But there's nothing like that here now.

00:47:36.000 I mean, the energy really, I know these things get to be tropes and stuff, but it really is, you can almost feel it.

00:47:41.000 It's palpable.

00:47:44.000 So, Dan, obviously your background as a Secret Service agent comes into play in everything that you saw with regard to that assassination attempt.

00:47:51.000 I mean, I've been saying on the air since Saturday that the hand of God is on President Trump.

00:47:55.000 I mean, there's literally no other way to read the fact that he's alive today.

00:47:59.000 And we played a graphic earlier on in the show showing the fact that if Trump does not turn his head at literally the last second, he's dead.

00:48:07.000 I mean, his head is turned amiss in front of a national television audience.

00:48:10.000 But the real question is, How did the Secret Service fail this badly?

00:48:13.000 We've now had the head of the Secret Service acknowledge that they didn't have a person on the roof because it was quote-unquote too sloped.

00:48:18.000 I've looked at that roof.

00:48:19.000 I'd put my kids on that roof.

00:48:20.000 I mean, that is not a... Also, I wasn't aware that OSHA violations were the chief concern of the Secret Service.

00:48:27.000 Oh my God, somebody might slip and, you know, bruise their knee or something.

00:48:31.000 And then we've heard also that there are Secret Service rules in place that suggest that they're not allowed to take a shot at a potential shooter until after the shooter takes a shot because they wouldn't want to kill some innocent person with a telescope lying down on a roof 150 meters away from the President of the United States.

00:48:44.000 Can you go through sort of the litany of failures here and what exactly happened?

00:48:50.000 Yeah, let's do them in reverse.

00:48:51.000 So, your first point, I saw that making its way around social media.

00:48:55.000 Rules of engagement indicate the shooter has to fire first.

00:48:58.000 Ben, the rules of engagement for counter-sniper uniformed division secret service officers are absolutely no different than they are for pretty much any law enforcement officer across the country.

00:49:08.000 You're a lawyer.

00:49:09.000 The rules are this.

00:49:10.000 If you can reasonably assume that this person is trying to cause a serious physical injury or death to another, you are allowed to use lethal force to stop said threat.

00:49:22.000 Period.

00:49:23.000 That is the generic kind of bird's eye view of just about every rules of engagement law enforcement policy across the country.

00:49:29.000 So I asked all these people, I said, really?

00:49:32.000 So you're suggesting a guy on a roof who's not law enforcement with a rifle Scoped in with his finger on the trigger, is not prepared to cause serious physical injury or death while it's pointed at the president? 1.00

00:49:45.000 That's an obscenity so dumb that I'm sure a lawyer like yourself looked at it and was like, okay, this is just stupid, so let's discredit that immediately. 0.99

00:49:53.000 On the roof thing, you know, I'll break some news on your show. 1.00

00:49:56.000 I kind of touched on it last night.

00:49:57.000 I was doing a podcast, but I'll be a little more thorough with you guys.

00:50:01.000 This is from an unimpeachable source.

00:50:04.000 I have a number of people feeding me information in the Secret Service.

00:50:07.000 And Ben, I'm going to tell you something.

00:50:08.000 I'm not defending anybody.

00:50:10.000 I'm not anybody's spokesperson.

00:50:12.000 The agents I'm talking to, and there are many, are overwhelmingly saying the same thing.

00:50:20.000 This is a colossal apocalyptic embarrassment to an agency I was proud of.

00:50:25.000 There is no one, no one defending this thing.

00:50:28.000 But one of them fed to me last night, and if this pans out to be true, and I have no reason to believe it isn't based on who told me this, that that was supposed to be a local police department counter-sniper post.

00:50:40.000 There were two USSS Secret Service counter-sniper teams.

00:50:43.000 That was supposed to be an additional one.

00:50:45.000 Apparently, for some reason, I don't care to speculate on, it's not what I do, that post never showed up.

00:50:52.000 Now, this is why you had in the beginning that statement, I don't know if you remember it, but it was from a few days ago, where the Secret Service spokesperson appeared to pawn the blame off on the locals.

00:51:02.000 That's what that was about.

00:51:03.000 Now, even if that is the case, which I believe it is based on my sources, say this post did not show up.

00:51:10.000 Now they're, you know what happens when you lie, Ben?

00:51:12.000 Again, you know, being a lawyer, you know how this is with clients.

00:51:14.000 They forget their own lies.

00:51:16.000 So first they tried to blame it on the local PD.

00:51:18.000 And then when they got backlash on that, they said, oh, it was the slope of the roof.

00:51:22.000 And now that they're getting backlash on that, they don't know what to do.

00:51:25.000 They don't want to tell the truth that they just never checked the post that he showed up and the post didn't.

00:51:31.000 So now they're burying themselves.

00:51:32.000 So I'm hearing also, this is point number two.

00:51:34.000 Again, I think this is the first time we're saying it in detail on the show.

00:51:38.000 That there are very strict orders coming from the Biden White House and the DHS to the Secret Service Director to basically shut her mouth about this or she's out.

00:51:46.000 And that's why you've seen Mayorkas so vigorously defend this failed Secret Service Director on video because he basically knows she has all the cookies in the cookie jar and there's no excuse for that.

00:51:58.000 So that's all your points.

00:52:00.000 One more thing, Ben, I just want to throw in that you didn't ask, but I'll just volunteer.

00:52:06.000 You know, the golden rule of Secret Service Protection, or any EP, Executive Protection for that matter, is when a threat presents itself, you get off the X. The X is where that protectee's standing, or is in a car, a vehicle gets stopped and they start firing at it with RPGs, you get the hell off the X. Cover and evacuate.

00:52:23.000 That is rule number one.

00:52:24.000 It's Charlie Brown Encyclopedia EP Executive Protection.

00:52:28.000 Why was he even on the X in the first place?

00:52:31.000 The guy was using a range finder At 5.41 p.m.

00:52:35.000 Trump didn't walk on stage till 6.00.

00:52:37.000 They have a holding room, Ben, at every site.

00:52:39.000 It's called the holding room for a reason.

00:52:41.000 It's a very sophisticated thing, Ben.

00:52:43.000 Get ready.

00:52:43.000 You know why?

00:52:44.000 Because they hold the president there when something's amiss.

00:52:47.000 Why was he not in the holding room?

00:52:50.000 Why did you let him walk on stage with an open threat?

00:52:53.000 I mean, the catastrophic failures in judgment here are legion.

00:52:58.000 And it's hard for me, as a guy who's very proud of this agency and what I did there, to digest this all.

00:53:04.000 Alrighty guys, coming up, we'll be getting into more with my friend Dan Bongino.
