00:01:29.000 So, who watched that?

00:01:31.000 Hmm?

00:01:32.000 Hmm?

00:01:33.000 I told you yesterday that you shouldn't bother, that I would sum it all up for you here, but you went ahead and you tried to watch it, didn't you?

00:01:38.000 Didn't you?

00:01:39.000 And now you say to yourself, well, I'm 90 minutes closer to death.

00:01:43.000 I got nothing whatsoever from that.

00:01:45.000 That's time I'm never going to get back.

00:01:48.000 Those are definitely minutes I'm going to be lamenting on my deathbed.

00:01:50.000 Now, let's be perfectly clear about this.

00:01:53.000 I told you.

00:01:54.000 I told you.

00:01:54.000 I told you it was going to be Chewbacca versus The Swedish Chef.

00:01:56.000 And that's exactly what it was.

00:01:57.000 That's exactly what it was.

00:01:58.000 It was just Joe Biden being, and Donald Trump going, That's all it was for 90 long minutes.

00:02:08.000 I've seen more productive conversations between homeless people screaming about the aliens that live in their hair than I saw last night.

00:02:16.000 That was the least productive presidential debate in the history of the world.

00:02:19.000 I mean, it was truly an awful presidential debate.

00:02:21.000 So what's the net effect?

00:02:22.000 Pretty much zero.

00:02:23.000 Because nothing matters, man.

00:02:26.000 Nothing matters whatsoever.

00:02:28.000 Now, here is a basic truth.

00:02:31.000 Joe Biden performed very poorly last night.

00:02:33.000 He did.

00:02:34.000 Joe Biden said many, many things last night that are morally objectionable, that are outright false.

00:02:38.000 He said things that were literally not true over and over and over.

00:02:41.000 And Chris Wallace did not fact check Joe Biden.

00:02:43.000 He was there to badger Donald Trump.

00:02:45.000 He was there to interrupt Trump.

00:02:47.000 But Trump himself was so busy interrupting Biden that basically it was the Justice Kavanaugh Devil's Triangle of interruption and crazy towns.

00:02:54.000 So nobody could get a word in edgewise.

00:02:56.000 Nobody knew what the hell was going on.

00:02:58.000 It was the worst episode of Jerry Springer in history because nobody hit each other with the chair.

00:03:02.000 That's all it was.

00:03:03.000 And we didn't know who the father was when it was all over.

00:03:06.000 We had no clue.

00:03:07.000 All we knew is that we had just been witness to a bleep show, the likes of which I have not seen.

00:03:13.000 Now, you're gonna get a lot of sugarcoating from a lot of people today on all sides of the aisle.

00:03:16.000 On the left, they're gonna be like, oh, Joe Biden was a statesman last night.

00:03:18.000 No, he wasn't. 1.00

00:03:19.000 He was garbage. 1.00

00:03:20.000 On the right, you're going to get, Donald Trump really took it to him. 1.00

00:03:23.000 Donald Trump was like a rabid badger last night, which means that he scored a couple of points, but he was so busy being the rabid badger that all of the attention was on the rabid badger.

00:03:31.000 Now, here is the deal, guys.

00:03:33.000 In this election cycle, where you believe the race is, is where it was two days ago, is where it currently is today.

00:03:39.000 So if you think that Donald Trump has some troubles, And if you look at the national polling, he does.

00:03:43.000 If you look at the national polling where Donald Trump is down anywhere from 7 to 10 points nationally, and he is down in literally every swing state, or at the very least running even in about half of them and down in the other half, then last night was a blown opportunity.

00:03:54.000 If you want to see Trump win, he needed to come out, and he needed to allow Joe Biden to say dumb things, and then he needed to pick it apart.

00:04:02.000 I know a lot of people who debate. 0.59

00:04:03.000 I myself debate a lot.

00:04:04.000 And when you debate people, one of the things you need to do is let them make their argument specifically so you can debunk it.

00:04:10.000 There were times when Joe Biden would say things that were eminently false, just blatantly untrue, immoral.

00:04:15.000 There were a couple of times he said things that I thought were morally evil, actually.

00:04:18.000 I mean, not condemning Antifa, suggesting that all of America is racist, as we'll get to.

00:04:23.000 And those would have been great times for Trump to jump in and say something.

00:04:26.000 But the problem was Trump was so busy jumping up and down that none of it distinguished itself from anything else.

00:04:32.000 It was just one continuous Phil Spector wall of sound ending with a shotgun blast.

00:04:35.000 I mean, that's that it was like.

00:04:38.000 I can't describe to you how useless I thought last night was for everybody involved.

00:04:42.000 And guess what?

00:04:42.000 That's kind of what the polls showed.

00:04:44.000 So a CBS News Instant Poll showed that 48% of viewers thought Biden won, 41% thought Trump won, another 10% thought the debate was a tie.

00:04:51.000 Okay, what do those numbers look an awful lot like?

00:04:54.000 Oh, they look exactly like the national polling.

00:04:57.000 Exactly like the national polling.

00:04:58.000 In other words, everybody who liked Trump going in liked Trump coming out.

00:05:01.000 Everybody who liked Biden going in liked Biden coming out.

00:05:04.000 And everybody in the middle who was like, these both people, they're just terrible, All those people came out thinking both people were terrible.

00:05:11.000 Frank Luntz did one of these focus groups.

00:05:15.000 I don't tend to put a lot of stock in the focus group.

00:05:16.000 The one thing in the Luntz focus group that I did put some stock in is that one third of the people who were in the focus group said they were less likely to vote altogether after watching it.

00:05:25.000 Now, maybe that benefits Trump, right?

00:05:27.000 If you think that the goal of Trump is to sort of lower the turnout for Biden, that it's a turnout election.

00:05:33.000 If you can get people not to show up, then it'll be a low turnout election like last time.

00:05:36.000 And then presumably Trump wins.

00:05:38.000 Then maybe that's part of the strategy.

00:05:39.000 Or maybe the strategy last night was for Trump to go so hot out of the gate that he sort of intimidated Biden into silence.

00:05:45.000 He was hoping that Biden would sort of collapse under the barrage of blows.

00:05:48.000 I mean, I literally compared Trump yesterday to the guy he didn't want to fight in high school because he was going to pull any weapon at his disposal.

00:05:54.000 Bricks from the side of the building, a lead pipe from underneath the plumbing supply, a knife out of his back pocket.

00:05:59.000 He just didn't know what Trump was going to pull out.

00:06:02.000 And that's exactly right.

00:06:03.000 I mean, Trump hit Biden with the kitchen sink last night and Biden didn't look good under the barrage.

00:06:07.000 The problem is that there was no way for us to even gauge the blows.

00:06:10.000 It was like watching A boxing match between professionals?

00:06:14.000 Except that the blows are so fast you actually can't tally the blows?

00:06:16.000 You can't see which ones are hitting and which ones actually are not?

00:06:20.000 Except these are not professionals, it was a clown car and everybody was just slapping each other with rubber hammers.

00:06:24.000 Okay, so with all of that said...

00:06:27.000 Let's get into it.

00:06:28.000 So, let's begin with the performance of Joe Biden.

00:06:30.000 And the reason I want to start with the performance of Biden is because Biden's the frontrunner.

00:06:33.000 Right now, according to the media, according to the polls, Biden is the frontrunner.

00:06:36.000 And his performance will be utterly ignored.

00:06:38.000 And the reason that Biden's performance will be utterly ignored is because everybody wants to focus on Trump.

00:06:42.000 Which brings us to a larger point about this election again.

00:06:45.000 Okay, that larger point is pretty simple.

00:06:48.000 The fact remains that if this election is a referendum on Trump's personality, he will lose.

00:06:52.000 If this election is a referendum on Biden's policy, Trump will win.

00:06:57.000 Because Biden is radical.

00:06:58.000 Biden is no bulwark against the radical left.

00:07:00.000 Biden is not all there.

00:07:02.000 He was not all there last night.

00:07:03.000 I know people were saying that he stood up to the attacks in a real serious way.

00:07:06.000 Yes, he didn't physically collapse.

00:07:09.000 He didn't break down crying on stage.

00:07:11.000 But he was not exactly with it.

00:07:13.000 He was all over the place.

00:07:15.000 He was saying things that were patently untrue.

00:07:17.000 He won't get fact-checked by Daniel Dale over at CNN, who's almost an overt employee of the DNC and has been for a long time.

00:07:23.000 But Biden said many, many things last night that were very, very bad.

00:07:26.000 And Chris Wallace routinely bailed him out.

00:07:28.000 And Trump kind of bailed him out by interrupting him so often.

00:07:31.000 So let's focus in on what Joe Biden actually said about policy and what he actually did last night.

00:07:36.000 Because the media will not focus in on that.

00:07:39.000 They'll focus in instead on the stuff that hurts Trump, namely the personality stuff.

00:07:42.000 And this was, again, the error of Trump's strategy.

00:07:45.000 It brought to the fore all the personality quibbles that people have with Trump.

00:07:48.000 They're not quibbles.

00:07:49.000 I mean, they're concerns.

00:07:50.000 It brought to the fore everybody's real issues with Trump personally, as opposed to the policies.

00:07:56.000 Because if this were just on policy, law and order, versus I won't bash Antifa, if this were about The COVID response, namely, try to keep as much open as possible, keep American life going while protecting people versus lockdown everything.

00:08:11.000 That's a debate Trump wins.

00:08:12.000 On the issues, these are all debates Trump wins.

00:08:15.000 But I'm not sure that anybody even saw an issue last night.

00:08:18.000 So let's start with with Joe Biden's performance in just one second.

00:08:21.000 It was really lackluster.

00:08:22.000 It was really bad.

00:08:23.000 We'll get to that in one second.

00:08:24.000 First, let's talk about the fact that everybody needs life insurance.

00:08:27.000 You need life insurance.

00:08:28.000 Now, it wouldn't help you last night if you were suicidal in the middle of that debate.

00:08:31.000 But under all other circumstances, you do need life insurance.

00:08:35.000 And good news for you, you can still get life insurance right now, despite all the insanity that's happening in modern American life right now.

00:08:41.000 You can save $1,500 or more a year by using PolicyGenius to compare life insurance policies.

00:08:46.000 When you're shopping for a policy that could last for a decade or more, those savings really start to add up.

00:08:50.000 So what exactly is PolicyGenius?

00:08:51.000 It's an insurance marketplace built and backed by a team of industry experts.

00:08:55.000 Here's how it works.

00:08:56.000 Step one, you head to PolicyGenius.com.

00:08:58.000 In minutes, you can work out how much coverage you need and compare quotes from top insurers to find your best price.

00:09:02.000 Step two, you can apply for your lowest price.

00:09:04.000 And step three, the Policy Genius team will handle all the paperwork and the red tape.

00:09:07.000 Policy Genius works for you, not the insurance company.

00:09:09.000 So, if you hit any speed bumps during the application process, they'll take care of everything.

00:09:13.000 They even have policies that allow eligible customers to skip that in-person medical exam and do it over the phone, which in this day and age, is a really, really great thing.

00:09:20.000 So, if you need life insurance, head on over to policygenius.com right now to get started.

00:09:24.000 You could save $1,500 or more a year by comparing quotes on their marketplace Policy Genius.

00:09:28.000 When it comes to insurance, it's nice to get it right.

00:09:31.000 Okay, so.

00:09:32.000 A lot of the debate for Joe Biden was taken up by him just insulting Trump.

00:09:36.000 People are focusing in on the fact that Trump insulted Biden a lot.

00:09:38.000 Yeah, Biden insulted Trump right back.

00:09:40.000 It was basically grumpy old men with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, and Walter Matthau here trying to stab Jack Lemmon with a frozen fish. 0.95

00:09:48.000 Here is Joe Biden telling Trump to shut up.

00:09:52.000 He doesn't want to answer the question.

00:09:53.000 He doesn't want to answer the question.

00:09:55.000 I'm not going to answer the question.

00:09:56.000 Why won't you answer that question?

00:09:57.000 You want to put a lot of new Supreme Court justices, radical left. 0.92

00:10:00.000 Will you shut up, man? 0.98

00:10:02.000 Okay, will you shut up, man? 0.99

00:10:03.000 So the left was cheering this. 1.00

00:10:05.000 Will you shut up, man? 0.61

00:10:05.000 What he's saying to Trump. 0.61

00:10:07.000 And this is about 15 minutes in, and Trump had not shut up at that point.

00:10:11.000 So I get it.

00:10:13.000 I will say, however, that what Biden was attempting to avoid in that particular exchange, again, so much of these debates comes down to the clips that happen afterward.

00:10:20.000 What Trump was trying to get across in that exchange is that Joe Biden literally refused to answer whether he would pack the court.

00:10:27.000 He refused it over and over and over again.

00:10:30.000 In fact, here is the lead up to Biden saying to Trump that he should shut up, right?

00:10:34.000 This would be clip 13.

00:10:36.000 Here's Biden refusing to answer on court packing.

00:10:40.000 Are you willing to tell the American people tonight whether or not you will support either ending the filibuster or packing the court?

00:10:48.000 Whatever position I take on that, that'll become the issue.

00:10:51.000 The issue is the American people should speak.

00:10:53.000 You should go out and vote.

00:10:55.000 You're in voting now.

00:10:57.000 Vote and let your senators know how strongly you feel.

00:10:59.000 Are you going to pack the court?

00:11:01.000 Vote now.

00:11:01.000 Are you going to pack the court?

00:11:02.000 Make sure you in fact let people know you're a senator.

00:11:05.000 He doesn't want to answer the question.

00:11:07.000 Okay, so that's exactly right.

00:11:08.000 Okay, and that ended with Chris Wallace bailing out Biden, bailing him out.

00:11:12.000 We've reached the end of this question.

00:11:15.000 Chris Wallace's behavior last night, as we will see, was not exactly wonderful.

00:11:18.000 I think he started off with good intentions, and by about 20 minutes in, he decided that his chief goal was to get Trump to stop interrupting, and so it became just, Wallace became one of the debaters.

00:11:27.000 He jumped into the debate himself. 0.97

00:11:29.000 Okay, more of Joe Biden going after Trump on a personal level, saying he can't get a word in with this clown. 0.94

00:11:34.000 There was a lot of this from Joe Biden last night. 0.94

00:11:38.000 So let me ask you this.

00:11:39.000 Go ahead, mister.

00:11:40.000 I'm listening to you.

00:11:41.000 He got three and a half million dollars from Moscow.

00:11:45.000 He testified under oath in his administration, said, I did my job and I did it very well.

00:11:50.000 Really?

00:11:51.000 I'd like to know who they are.

00:11:52.000 Well, I'll give you the list of the people who testified.

00:11:54.000 No, no, go ahead, sir.

00:11:56.000 You've already fired most of them because they did a good job.

00:11:58.000 Some people don't do a good job.

00:12:01.000 Wait a minute.

00:12:02.000 You get the final word, mister. 0.99

00:12:03.000 Well, it's hard to get any word in with this clown. 0.99

00:12:05.000 Excuse me, this person. 0.98

00:12:08.000 Okay, so Biden got very testy last night.

00:12:10.000 And this was the, again, for people on the left, this was thrilling that he got testy with Trump.

00:12:15.000 Yeah, I'm not sure that that's particularly thrilling.

00:12:16.000 I'm not sure it showed a great side of Biden.

00:12:18.000 He did this over and over and over.

00:12:19.000 And it's one point where after one of these, again, talkovers, if you're the transcriptionist for this particular debate, you had the worst job in America last night.

00:12:28.000 But here was Joe Biden, you know, kind of ironically saying this was a productive segment and Chris Wallace chuckling along with him.

00:12:33.000 We have ended this segment.

00:12:35.000 We're going to move on to the second segment.

00:12:36.000 That was really a productive segment, wasn't it?

00:12:40.000 Keep yapping, man.

00:12:41.000 The people understand you.

00:12:43.000 Deep yapping, man.

00:12:44.000 I mean, again, this is not the best of Joe Biden.

00:12:47.000 Okay, then there were the actual issues.

00:12:49.000 Then there were the actual issues.

00:12:50.000 The things that Joe Biden said on the issues.

00:12:52.000 They were bad, guys.

00:12:53.000 I know that we're supposed to only focus in on what Trump said, and I promise you, we'll get to what Trump said.

00:12:53.000 They were bad.

00:12:57.000 And a lot of it was not very good last night.

00:12:59.000 There were some things he said that were good.

00:13:00.000 There were very many that were bad.

00:13:01.000 And his general tactic, which was rabid badger, was not, I think, well thought out.

00:13:07.000 But Joe Biden said many bad things last night that will be completely elided by the media.

00:13:11.000 And here on this show, one of the things we try to do is bring you all perspectives, at least all the information that you need.

00:13:17.000 OK, so the fact is that Joe Biden said a lot of things that were patently false or wrong or damaging last night.

00:13:23.000 So at one point, Joe Biden was asked specifically about being dominated.

00:13:29.000 But Trump said, you're going to be dominated by your own party, right?

00:13:31.000 You're going to be run around by your own party.

00:13:33.000 You don't run your own party.

00:13:35.000 And Biden said, no, no, I am the Democratic Party right now.

00:13:38.000 He then proceeded to take every side of every issue that he was asked about throughout the entire debate.

00:13:44.000 It was pretty incredible.

00:13:45.000 This is a guy who's supposed to be the bulwark of moderation.

00:13:47.000 He demonstrated none of that last night.

00:13:49.000 I mean, none of that.

00:13:50.000 He would kind of make mush mouth noises about the Green New Deal, and then he would immediately walk it back.

00:13:54.000 He would say, oh, the Green New Deal is great. 0.94

00:13:56.000 And then he'd be like, no, I don't believe in the Green New Deal.

00:13:58.000 They'd be like, I'm not for defunding the police, but the police are systemically racist. 0.99

00:14:00.000 I mean, it was all over the damn place. 0.99

00:14:03.000 Here was Joe Biden declaring that he is the Democratic Party. 0.99

00:14:07.000 Your party wants to go socialist medicine.

00:14:09.000 My party is me.

00:14:10.000 And socialist healthcare.

00:14:11.000 Right now, I am the Democratic Party.

00:14:12.000 And they're gonna dominate you, Joe.

00:14:14.000 You know that.

00:14:14.000 I am the Democratic Party right now.

00:14:17.000 The platform of the Democratic Party is what I, in fact, approved of.

00:14:22.000 Okay, now, here's the problem.

00:14:23.000 That platform he approved of was co-written by Bernie Sanders.

00:14:25.000 Sanders has bragged about this.

00:14:27.000 And as we'll see, he ain't no bulwark of moderation here.

00:14:32.000 This I thought was the worst moments of the night, and everybody ignored this.

00:14:35.000 Because I know that this has become part of our traditional rhetoric now, but it is the worst part of America's political discourse right now.

00:14:42.000 This accusation that America is systemically racist.

00:14:45.000 Which again, for those who missed it, I've been discussing this for months.

00:14:48.000 The term systemically racist springs originally from Stokely Carmichael, who used the term institutional racism to describe any institution that results in inequality between racial groups.

00:14:58.000 In other words, the only way that you can tell if an institution is racist is the inequality of the result.

00:15:03.000 And any inequality of result renders the institution racist.

00:15:07.000 That means that all institutions have to be burned to the ground because they are racist, right?

00:15:10.000 All of them have to be fundamentally remolded because they are racist.

00:15:14.000 Here is Joe Biden, an institutionalist to the core, supposedly, a man who's been in the United States Senate or in the vice presidency for 47 long years, a servant of the system, so to speak, declaring that the entire American system is two-tiered.

00:15:28.000 First of all, it is a lie about America, a vicious lie about America.

00:15:31.000 Second, it is a vicious lie about Americans. 0.98

00:15:33.000 And third, it is a damning calumny against the prospects of black Americans. 0.97

00:15:38.000 When you tell black Americans they cannot rise under any circumstances because the system is so rigged against them, you're telling them a lie. 0.97

00:15:44.000 To tell a child that is a form of child abuse in a free country. 0.94

00:15:47.000 And yet Joe Biden engages in this myth-making, this Ibram X. Kendi, Robin DiAngelo bullcrap.

00:15:53.000 He does it every single day and he gets away with it.

00:15:56.000 And we'll get to Chris Wallace in a second because Chris Wallace not only let him get away with it, he helped promulgate this nonsense last night.

00:16:02.000 But here is Joe Biden saying what I thought was the worst thing of the night that apparently nobody picks up on because it is just so such a part of our rote politics.

00:16:10.000 Do you believe that there is a separate but unequal system of justice for blacks in this country?

00:16:16.000 Yes, there is.

00:16:17.000 There's systemic injustice in this country, in education and work and in law enforcement and the way in which it's enforced.

00:16:27.000 Okay, that is just astonishing.

00:16:31.000 Every system in this country, every system in this country is laced through with racial injustice.

00:16:35.000 Every system.

00:16:37.000 How is that not the chief issue?

00:16:39.000 I don't understand.

00:16:40.000 I mean, this would have been the opportunity for Trump to jump in, would it not?

00:16:43.000 And say, every system in America is racist.

00:16:46.000 Every one.

00:16:47.000 We abolished legalized racism in the 1960s.

00:16:49.000 That doesn't mean that we've abolished all racism from the human heart, because that exists literally everywhere at every time throughout human history.

00:16:57.000 But the very basic idea that America's institutions are rooted in racism That the justice system today is systemically racist.

00:17:05.000 It's designed to keep down black people. 1.00

00:17:06.000 The economic system is designed to keep down black people. 1.00

00:17:08.000 These are talking points from the neo-Marxist left.

00:17:10.000 How exactly was Joe Biden allowed to get away with that?

00:17:12.000 Where was the follow-up question there?

00:17:16.000 Why wouldn't Chris Wallace say, okay, and your plans to fix these systemically racist systems are to?

00:17:21.000 Because he doesn't have a plan.

00:17:22.000 It's just to use this as a baton.

00:17:24.000 That's only one of the bad things that Joe Biden said last night.

00:17:27.000 There were many bad things he said last night.

00:17:30.000 And that he got away with because everybody was so distracted by the fact that Trump was like a woodpecker over here against the tree nearby.

00:17:37.000 We'll get to that in just one second.

00:17:39.000 Let's talk about the fact that, you know, sometimes you're driving around in your car and that light goes on.

00:17:43.000 You're like, oh no, that light means I'm going to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars.

00:17:47.000 Well, now that I have CarShield, I don't worry about that anymore.

00:17:50.000 CarShield, they offer a wide range of protection plans that can save you thousands for a covered repair.

00:17:54.000 That means that check engine light is a lot less scary when that thing pops on.

00:17:57.000 You have the freedom to choose your favorite mechanic or dealership to do the work.

00:18:00.000 CarShield gets the rest taken care of.

00:18:02.000 Even if your car breaks down while you're traveling, the choice of a repair shop is still up to you.

00:18:06.000 On top of that, there are no long-term contracts or commitments.

00:18:09.000 Payments are flexible.

00:18:10.000 CarShield plans are customizable to your exact needs.

00:18:12.000 CarShield has helped over 1 million drivers, and that's why they're America's number one auto protection company.

00:18:19.000 I love the fact that, again, CarShield is extremely user-friendly.

00:18:22.000 They make the magic happen for you if, God forbid, something goes wrong with your car.

00:18:26.000 You know, it's easy to dread car repairs with CarShield.

00:18:28.000 You get peace of mind.

00:18:29.000 Get coverage today.

00:18:29.000 See why CarShield cars go farther.

00:18:31.000 Call 800-665-2157 and mention CodeBen or visit CarShield.com and use CodeBen to save 10%.

00:18:38.000 Again, that's CarShield.com, CodeBen.

00:18:40.000 A deductible may apply.

00:18:41.000 Go check them out right now.

00:18:44.000 Okay, so, more nonsense spouted by Joe Biden last night, and there was a lot of it.

00:18:55.000 So, here was an amazing flip-flop on the Green New Deal. 0.83

00:18:57.000 Inside of 30 seconds, he said he is for the Green New Deal and that it is actually going to save us money.

00:19:03.000 This would be the Green New Deal that cost him $90 trillion. 0.71

00:19:05.000 He's proposed some bizarre sort of scaled down version of the Green New Deal, but AOC is part of his campaign and is helping to head up his panel on climate change.

00:19:15.000 He specifically says in his own platform that he's in favor of the Green New Deal.

00:19:18.000 His vice presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, was a co-sponsor in the Senate of the Green New Deal.

00:19:23.000 So you don't get to just separate yourself off.

00:19:25.000 How, again, where was Chris Wallace on this?

00:19:27.000 Where the F was Chris Wallace?

00:19:28.000 Chris Wallace last night, He was not only there to fact-check what Trump was saying and badger Trump.

00:19:33.000 He was also there to shield Joe Biden from any serious question.

00:19:36.000 And Trump was not really able to prosecute the case against Joe Biden because he was too busy focusing in on sort of the inanities surrounding Joe Biden as opposed to his policies.

00:19:44.000 Here is Joe Biden flip-flopping on the Green New Deal inside of 35 seconds.

00:19:49.000 The Green New Deal will pay for itself as we move forward. 0.94

00:19:53.000 We're not going to build plants that, in fact, are great polluting plants.

00:19:57.000 Do you support the Green New Deal?

00:19:59.000 You support?

00:19:59.000 Pardon me?

00:20:00.000 No, I don't support the Green New Deal.

00:20:01.000 Oh, you don't?

00:20:02.000 Oh, well, that's a big statement.

00:20:04.000 That means you just launched the radical left.

00:20:06.000 I support the Biden plan that I put forward.

00:20:10.000 So the Green New Deal is going to save money, but also he doesn't support the Green New Deal.

00:20:15.000 And then Chris Wallace says, OK, What do you mean?

00:20:17.000 OK, hold up.

00:20:19.000 You just said it's going to save money, but you don't support it.

00:20:20.000 Why not?

00:20:21.000 Why don't you support the Green New Deal? 0.55

00:20:22.000 Wouldn't that be the normal follow up question?

00:20:24.000 Never comes.

00:20:25.000 OK, other moments from Joe Biden last night.

00:20:27.000 So there's going to be a lot of focus and there has been a lot of focus on Trump's words on white supremacy, which we'll get to in just one second again. 1.00

00:20:33.000 Irredeemably stupid error by Trump last night on the stage. 1.00

00:20:37.000 But Joe Biden also said a thing that was not only irredeemably stupid, but also morally benighted. 1.00

00:20:43.000 And everybody is just pretending it doesn't mean anything. 0.99

00:20:45.000 In fact, Megyn Kelly is trending for pointing out that it does mean something.

00:20:48.000 So Joe Biden was asked specifically about Antifa.

00:20:51.000 And he says, oh, well, you know, Antifa, they're really not an organization.

00:20:54.000 They're more of just like an idea.

00:20:55.000 OK, no, they are called by the FBI an ideology or a movement.

00:20:59.000 An idea is something that has no practical real world ramifications unless it is taken down and made into an ideology or a movement.

00:21:06.000 But here is Biden just pretending that Antifa doesn't exist.

00:21:09.000 And what was amazing about the framing of a lot of the law and order discussion last night, it was all about the right-wing violence that's happening in our major cities.

00:21:15.000 Weird, because it seems like the violence in our major cities, as Trump himself pointed out, we'll see this, is coming from the left wing.

00:21:20.000 But here was Joe Biden refusing to condemn Antifa last night.

00:21:25.000 Antifa's an idea, not an organization.

00:21:27.000 Oh, you've got to be kidding.

00:21:28.000 That's what his FBI director said.

00:21:32.000 Well, then you know what?

00:21:33.000 He's wrong.

00:21:34.000 We're done, sir.

00:21:35.000 Everybody in your administration tells you the truth as a bad idea.

00:21:43.000 Can I tell you what?

00:21:45.000 Antifa is a dangerous, radical group.

00:21:48.000 Gentlemen, we're now moving on to the Trump and Biden records.

00:21:50.000 They'll overthrow you.

00:21:51.000 When a president... I'm going to ask a question.

00:21:54.000 Okay, and then Wallace jumped in to protect, right?

00:21:57.000 I mean, again, Wallace was really bad last night.

00:21:59.000 He was really bad.

00:22:00.000 Trump said he was debating Wallace and Biden last night.

00:22:02.000 At the beginning, that wasn't true.

00:22:03.000 By the end of the debate, that was absolutely true.

00:22:05.000 Okay, Biden defending Antifa there is a low point.

00:22:07.000 It is a bad move.

00:22:09.000 It is a bad political move, and it is a bad moral move. 0.98

00:22:11.000 Antifa is a violent group of thugs. 0.92

00:22:13.000 They've been going around, many of them have criminal records. 0.98

00:22:15.000 They've been burning things.

00:22:16.000 They've been hijacking peaceful protests.

00:22:18.000 And even members of BLM will tell you this.

00:22:20.000 They've been going around and setting things on fire, occupying swaths of city areas, attacking cops, and Joe Biden won't condemn them because they're just an idea, not an organization.

00:22:28.000 Okay, final clip of Joe Biden last night.

00:22:31.000 So, Biden also blamed Trump for the riots in Portland.

00:22:34.000 He somehow came around to the bizarre position that it was Donald Trump's fault that there were riots in Portland, even though, again, Donald Trump sent the Federals in, and then he withdrew the Federals, and the riots are still ongoing in Portland. 0.97

00:22:45.000 Here is Joe Biden saying another asinine thing.

00:22:48.000 You know, his own former spokesperson said, you know, riots and chaos and violence help us cause. 0.98

00:22:55.000 That's what this is all about.

00:22:56.000 I don't know who said that.

00:22:57.000 I do.

00:22:58.000 Who?

00:22:59.000 I think Kellyanne Conway.

00:23:01.000 I don't think she said that.

00:23:02.000 She said that.

00:23:03.000 And so here's the point.

00:23:04.000 The point is that that's what he keeps trying to rile everything up.

00:23:09.000 He doesn't want to calm things down.

00:23:12.000 Instead of going in and talking to people and saying, let's get everybody together, figure out how to deal with this.

00:23:17.000 What's he do?

00:23:18.000 He just pours gasoline in the fire constantly.

00:23:22.000 OK, so again, that is a lie by Joe Biden.

00:23:24.000 It's not about Trump pouring gasoline on the fire in Portland.

00:23:26.000 That is a left wing city being run by left wing radicals.

00:23:29.000 And the fact is that the violence that has been breaking out every night in Portland culminated in an Antifa member shooting somebody who is a member of Patriot Prayer.

00:23:39.000 So, no.

00:23:40.000 You don't get to hide behind the Donald Trump is a bad orange mean man argument to avoid condemning an actual violent terror group in Antifa, which is what they are.

00:23:49.000 Again, in just a second we'll get to President Trump's performance, which likewise was not very good last night.

00:23:54.000 Because this is what America deserves.

00:23:55.000 HL Mencken said that democracy is the idea that the people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.

00:24:01.000 We're getting it good and hard, gang.

00:24:03.000 That was a A mess last night.

00:24:05.000 What a mess.

00:24:06.000 Okay, we're gonna get to more of that mess last night in just one second.

00:24:09.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you should be doing a lot of things online.

00:24:12.000 I mean, not just because of all the safety concerns these days, but mainly because you're gonna save a lot of time, you're gonna save a lot of money.

00:24:17.000 Nowhere has this been truer than when it comes to auto parts stores.

00:24:20.000 You go to an auto parts store, you can spend a long time waiting in line, and then they have to look up the part, very often they don't have it, they have to order it online anyway, then they upcharge you for the privilege of them ordering it online.

00:24:28.000 Why don't you just go to the online, to the interwebs, and do it yourself at rockauto.com.

00:24:33.000 RockAuto.com always offers the lowest prices possible rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear, like airlines do.

00:24:39.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same price?

00:24:42.000 RockAuto.com, it's a family business.

00:24:43.000 They've been serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.

00:24:47.000 Head on over to rockauto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.

00:24:51.000 Best of all, prices at rockauto.com are always reliably low and the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

00:24:56.000 Why spend up to twice as much for the same parts?

00:24:58.000 The rockauto.com catalog is unique.

00:24:59.000 It's remarkably easy to navigate.

00:25:01.000 You can quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle and choose the brands, specifications, and prices you prefer.

00:25:06.000 Got amazing selection, reliably low prices, all the parts your car will ever need, rockauto.com.

00:25:11.000 Head on over to rockauto.com right now, see all the parts available for your car or truck, and write Shapiro in there, how did you hear about us box?

00:25:16.000 So they know that we sent you.

00:25:19.000 Okay, so now to President Trump's performance.

00:25:21.000 It was not good.

00:25:23.000 Okay, not gonna pretend otherwise.

00:25:25.000 Not gonna talk about how it was a genius performance.

00:25:27.000 It was not a world-beating performance.

00:25:28.000 It was a bad performance.

00:25:30.000 Trump came in, as Chris Christie said, very, very hot, and he never let up.

00:25:33.000 It was two hours of continuous sound.

00:25:35.000 It was nearly unwatchable.

00:25:37.000 Now, if Trump were in the lead, this might make sense.

00:25:40.000 It might make sense because it neutralizes the ability of Joe Biden to lie at length, which would be not a bad idea.

00:25:47.000 In 2012, when Paul Ryan was debating Joe Biden, Joe Biden lied fluently, and Paul Ryan didn't fact-check him.

00:25:54.000 He assumed that the moderator was gonna do that.

00:25:55.000 The moderator did not, in fact, do that in that case, and ended badly for Paul Ryan.

00:25:59.000 So being aggressive with Biden is not a bad strategy, but there's a difference between being aggressive and forcing questions and prosecuting and just being irritating.

00:26:08.000 And the problem is this.

00:26:09.000 There is a theory of this election.

00:26:11.000 It goes something like this.

00:26:12.000 The American people are exhausted.

00:26:13.000 This has been an exhausting four years.

00:26:15.000 We were willing to take the exhaustion and the craziness and the tweets and the constant chatter.

00:26:20.000 The American people were.

00:26:20.000 We were willing to take that.

00:26:22.000 Up until things went bad.

00:26:23.000 Then the American people got in a bad mood.

00:26:24.000 And now they're just exhausted.

00:26:26.000 And whoever exhausts them less ends up becoming president.

00:26:29.000 Now that's a war with the more general notion that the more charismatic candidate tends to become president.

00:26:34.000 Trump is obviously more charismatic than Biden.

00:26:35.000 Biden is charisma free.

00:26:37.000 He's a speed bump of a human.

00:26:38.000 But If the question is whether you are exhausted.

00:26:41.000 Last night was exhausting.

00:26:43.000 15 minutes in, people were reaching for the whiskey.

00:26:45.000 30 minutes in, they were reaching for the Xanax.

00:26:48.000 45 minutes in, they were reaching for the shotgun.

00:26:50.000 Okay, it was an exhausting evening.

00:26:53.000 I wonder how many Americans actually made it through the first half hour.

00:26:55.000 Seriously, because it was just people yelling over each other.

00:26:58.000 It was LOUD NOISES!

00:27:02.000 That was not a good strategy.

00:27:03.000 Because here's the thing about Joe Biden.

00:27:04.000 He is doddering.

00:27:06.000 He does not know what he is talking about.

00:27:07.000 He makes errors on a routine basis.

00:27:10.000 In fact, Trump was perfectly capable of spotting about half of those errors.

00:27:13.000 There were times when Joe Biden would say things like, you're gonna throw 100 million people off their healthcare.

00:27:17.000 And Trump was like, what the hell are you talking about?

00:27:18.000 There aren't 100 million people with preexisting conditions who are gonna be thrown off their healthcare.

00:27:22.000 What in the world are you saying?

00:27:23.000 Trump actually fact-checked him from time to time.

00:27:26.000 The problem is, because it was, in fact, just this drone, this drone of sound, If you are somebody in the middle, and those are the people that we care about, right?

00:27:34.000 I mean, if you are on the right, you're going to vote for Trump anyway.

00:27:36.000 If you're on the left, you're voting for Biden anyway.

00:27:37.000 If you're in the middle, how do those people think of it?

00:27:40.000 I cannot imagine anything other than if you were in the middle watching this thing, all you wanted to do was switch over to Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon and watch anything else, literally anything else.

00:27:49.000 You're going to watch that man having sex with the octopus movie, like anything, but watch this thing. 0.69

00:27:54.000 So, Trump came out extremely aggressive. 0.99

00:27:57.000 And again, partisans will cheer, in the same way that partisans on the left cheer when Joe Biden tells Trump to shut up.

00:28:02.000 Do any of these things score any points?

00:28:04.000 So here's Trump being really aggressive, saying that Biden should never use the word smart with him.

00:28:04.000 I don't think so.

00:28:10.000 A lot more gonna die unless he gets a lot smarter a lot quicker.

00:28:13.000 So, Mr. President, did you use the word smart?

00:28:17.000 Uh, so you said you went to Delaware State, but you forgot the name of your college.

00:28:21.000 You didn't go to Delaware State.

00:28:23.000 You graduated either the lowest or almost the lowest in your class.

00:28:27.000 Don't ever use the word smart with me.

00:28:29.000 Don't ever use that word.

00:28:30.000 Oh, give me a break. 0.60

00:28:31.000 Because you know what?

00:28:32.000 There's nothing smart about you, Joe.

00:28:35.000 Okay, so, is that funny?

00:28:38.000 Sure.

00:28:38.000 Is it really productive?

00:28:40.000 Because again, Trump's job here is to make himself seem more palatable to the American people, not to seem more Trumpy to the American people.

00:28:46.000 Okay, then Trump berated Biden about Hunter Biden.

00:28:50.000 Now, again, Hunter Biden is a legit campaign issue.

00:28:52.000 And frankly, Chris Wallace should have asked Joe Biden about Hunter Biden, considering that there are now reports that Hunter Biden was receiving money, he was in fact receiving money, from the wife of the mayor of Moscow, and it was in the millions of dollars apparently, or at least firms he was connected to.

00:29:05.000 Trump goes after Hunter, and Biden gets mad about Hunter.

00:29:08.000 Do people think this is going to make a big difference in the actual presidential debate, or does it just look like Trump is getting so aggressive that it's aggression for aggression's sake?

00:29:17.000 China ate your lunch, Joe, and no wonder your son goes in and he takes out, he takes out billions of dollars, takes out billions of dollars to manage, he makes millions of dollars. 0.95

00:29:28.000 And also, while we're at it, why is it, just out of curiosity, The mayor of Moscow's wife gave your son $3.5 million.

00:29:36.000 What did he do to deserve it?

00:29:38.000 What did he do with Barista to deserve $183,000?

00:29:41.000 None of that is true.

00:29:45.000 If not, none of that is true.

00:29:46.000 Mr. President, please.

00:29:50.000 Totally discredited.

00:29:52.000 Okay, it has not been totally discredited.

00:29:54.000 It was not worthwhile.

00:29:55.000 Trump asked the question.

00:29:56.000 Then you have to sit back and let Biden lie.

00:29:59.000 Right, so what he says there is actually, number one, I'm not sure the angle of attack is supremely useful.

00:30:04.000 I mean, hitting him on Hunter just to get him off his game early on, I actually recommend it.

00:30:08.000 But doing it like 40 minutes into the debate, and then not letting go enough to let him lie about it, and then say you're lying.

00:30:13.000 I mean, there are actual reports that Hunter Biden has done these things.

00:30:16.000 And there was no break.

00:30:17.000 There was no backing off.

00:30:18.000 You need to let him answer the question wrong, and then clock him.

00:30:22.000 Now again, Trump was prosecuting Biden last night.

00:30:24.000 The problem was, you know, in court generally, it is a bad tactic to quote-unquote badger the witness, right?

00:30:31.000 The badgering is not a useful tactic.

00:30:34.000 So, for example, I thought this was a very good exchange for Trump.

00:30:36.000 So Trump went after Biden.

00:30:37.000 He said, you know, you keep talking about how, you know, you're pro-law enforcement, but at the same time you're calling them systemically racist.

00:30:42.000 You don't have any law enforcement support.

00:30:43.000 This is a good line of attack for Trump, a very good line of attack.

00:30:45.000 What you have to do is say, name a group, right?

00:30:48.000 He did eventually.

00:30:49.000 But first, he says it 25 times.

00:30:51.000 And then let it sit.

00:30:53.000 Let it sit.

00:30:54.000 Now, as you'll see, Chris Wallace jumped in to defend Biden.

00:30:56.000 This was a serious problem throughout the evening.

00:30:58.000 Wallace would not let it sit either.

00:31:00.000 Wallace decided he was going to get aggressive too.

00:31:02.000 So it's three aggressive people getting aggressive with each other, which is pretty much just a WWE wrestling match.

00:31:08.000 Here is Trump going after Biden.

00:31:10.000 He doesn't have any law support.

00:31:13.000 He has no law enforcement support.

00:31:15.000 That's not true.

00:31:16.000 Almost nothing.

00:31:17.000 Who do you have?

00:31:18.000 Name one group that supports you.

00:31:20.000 Name one group that came out and supported you.

00:31:22.000 Go ahead.

00:31:23.000 We have time.

00:31:24.000 We don't have time to do anything.

00:31:28.000 Okay, so again, you see Wallace jump in again.

00:31:37.000 Biden didn't have an answer, but this is where you let it breathe.

00:31:41.000 As a tactic, this is where you let it breathe.

00:31:42.000 It's a great question.

00:31:43.000 It really is.

00:31:44.000 Like, Trump has him on the ropes there.

00:31:45.000 Just let it breathe.

00:31:46.000 Can you name a group?

00:31:50.000 Seconds of Dead Silence.

00:31:54.000 Again, prosecutorial Trump was not bad Trump last night.

00:31:57.000 He was not.

00:31:58.000 It was the fact that it was constant.

00:32:00.000 The fact that it didn't stop for five seconds.

00:32:02.000 You need the dramatic break.

00:32:04.000 The ear needs the break.

00:32:08.000 Okay, now on the issues, the fact is that on the issues Trump was right and Biden was wrong.

00:32:12.000 We'll get to Trump being right and Biden being wrong on the issues in a second.

00:32:14.000 And then we'll get, of course, to the comment that everybody is talking about today, and that is Trump's comments on white supremacy. 0.98

00:32:19.000 Again, I don't know how many times we have to go through this routine, where Trump is asked specifically about white supremacy, and then he shows himself willing to condemn white supremacy, and then he says something dumb. 0.95

00:32:27.000 And then he proceeds to sort of futz around with it. 0.93

00:32:32.000 We'll get to that in a second.

00:32:33.000 But first, let us talk about the fact that being a gun owner, it is a major responsibility.

00:32:38.000 The fact is that you want to protect yourself, you want to protect your family, but even if you do protect yourself and your family, if you do it wrong, you could end up in jail.

00:32:44.000 I mean, we've seen too many cases in the recent past where people protect themselves with a gun, and then all of a sudden they find themselves under the prospect of prosecution.

00:32:52.000 This is why you need to know what you are doing with your gun.

00:32:55.000 You need the proper education.

00:34:43.000 Okay, so Trump's rough tactics last night obscured the fact that on the issues he was So, for example, he had a great line last night, and it just, it didn't land because there were so many punches being thrown.

00:34:59.000 He said about Biden, I've done more in 47 months than he's done in 47 years.

00:35:02.000 That is 100% true.

00:35:03.000 That is absolutely true. 0.99

00:35:04.000 Joe Biden is one of the most useless politicians in the history of Washington, D.C. 0.98

00:35:08.000 Here is Donald Trump talking about it. 0.94

00:35:10.000 Let me just tell you, Joe, I've done more in 47 months, I've done more than you've done in 47 years, Joe.

00:35:18.000 We've done things that you never even thought of doing, including fixing the broken military that you gave me, including taking care of your vets.

00:35:25.000 Okay, again, he is not wrong about all of that, okay?

00:35:28.000 And then, Trump talked about lockdown.

00:35:30.000 On lockdown, he was totally right and Biden was totally wrong.

00:35:32.000 So Biden was saying that he would have saved all of the various lives, right?

00:35:35.000 He'd save all of the lives.

00:35:37.000 Also, the economic crash is somehow Trump's fault, even though Trump wants to reopen.

00:35:41.000 Also, he kind of likes lockdowns.

00:35:43.000 Also, he doesn't want a lockdown.

00:35:45.000 So Biden was all over the place.

00:35:47.000 And Trump, quite correctly, slams Biden on this.

00:35:50.000 You take a look at what's happening at some of your Democrat-run states where they have these tough shutdowns.

00:35:55.000 And I'm telling you it's because they don't want to open it.

00:35:58.000 One of them came out last week.

00:36:00.000 We're going to open up on November 9th.

00:36:00.000 You saw that.

00:36:02.000 Why November 9th?

00:36:03.000 Because it's after the election.

00:36:05.000 They think they're hurting us by keeping them closed.

00:36:08.000 They're hurting people.

00:36:09.000 People know what to do.

00:36:11.000 They can social distance.

00:36:12.000 They can wash their hands.

00:36:13.000 They can wear a mask.

00:36:14.000 They can do whatever they want.

00:36:15.000 But they've got to open these states up.

00:36:17.000 Okay, he is right about that.

00:36:19.000 Again, on the issues, I wish he'd just let it breathe.

00:36:22.000 Because on the issues, Biden is wrong.

00:36:25.000 Trump went after him also on COVID more generally.

00:36:28.000 Biden kept saying, you know, we would have done amazing on COVID.

00:36:30.000 And Trump was like, no, you wouldn't have.

00:36:32.000 And Biden tried to bring out the Joker grin, and Trump really slammed him.

00:36:35.000 Here was Trump again.

00:36:38.000 The governor said I did a phenomenal job.

00:36:40.000 Most of them said that.

00:36:42.000 In fact, people that would not be necessarily on my side said that.

00:36:47.000 President Trump did a phenomenal job.

00:36:49.000 We did.

00:36:50.000 We got the gowns.

00:36:51.000 We got the masks.

00:36:52.000 We made the ventilators.

00:36:53.000 You wouldn't have made ventilators.

00:36:55.000 And now we're weeks away from a vaccine.

00:36:57.000 We're doing therapeutics already.

00:36:59.000 Fewer people are dying when they get sick.

00:37:02.000 Far fewer people are dying.

00:37:03.000 We've done a great job.

00:37:04.000 But I'll tell you, Joe, you could never have done the job that we did.

00:37:07.000 You don't have it in your blood.

00:37:09.000 You could have never done that job.

00:37:10.000 OK, so all of that is totally fine.

00:37:12.000 Now, the area that people are focusing in on is this one exchange.

00:37:16.000 So Chris Wallace, again, we'll get to Wallace in a second, because I think that his moderation last night was abysmal, abysmal.

00:37:22.000 But Chris Wallace decides to ask Trump about white supremacists.

00:37:27.000 He doesn't ask Biden to condemn Black Lives Matter violence in the cities, which is what has been going on.

00:37:31.000 They shut down the entire county of Los Angeles for a week so that Black Lives Matter-associated rioters and looters could go and hit up Melrose Avenue for new parachutes. 0.77

00:37:39.000 So let's not pretend that what's been going on in the major cities is not caused by Antifa and Black Lives Matter. 0.75

00:37:44.000 It is.

00:37:46.000 Nonetheless, Chris Wallace decides to pick up the Democratic talking point that actually it's a bunch of white supremacists in the cities who are actually causing all of this, which again is a lie.

00:37:53.000 It is not true. 0.99

00:37:53.000 White supremacists are evil. 0.99

00:37:55.000 Again, there is no one in America who, I think on a personal level, may have been targeted more than I have been or who hates white supremacists more than I do. 1.00

00:38:04.000 I've been perfectly clear about this. 1.00

00:38:05.000 They are garbage human beings. 1.00

00:38:07.000 White supremacists are not the cause of the violence that's been happening in America's major cities. 1.00

00:38:10.000 It is BLM and Antifa. 1.00

00:38:11.000 The fact that Chris Wallace thought that this was the key thing to bring up in a debate is in and of itself idiotic. 0.98

00:38:17.000 But that doesn't mean that Trump handles this right. 0.94

00:38:20.000 So we're going to play the clip and then I'm going to actually read you the transcript of the clip.

00:38:23.000 And what you will see is that the media are just lying about what actually happened in this exchange.

00:38:27.000 So the media's line here is that Trump is defending white supremacy.

00:38:30.000 Here's the actual clip.

00:38:32.000 Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we've seen in Portland?

00:38:47.000 Sure, I'm willing to do that.

00:38:50.000 I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing.

00:38:56.000 I'm willing to do anything.

00:38:57.000 I want to see peace.

00:38:58.000 Then do it, sir.

00:38:59.000 Do it.

00:38:59.000 Say it.

00:39:00.000 Say it.

00:39:01.000 Do you want to call him?

00:39:02.000 What do you want to call him?

00:39:03.000 Give me a name.

00:39:04.000 White supremacist and white supremacist. 0.98

00:39:24.000 White supremacist and white supremacist Okay, Joe Biden today tweeted out, there's no other way to put it, the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night. 0.96

00:39:32.000 By the way, Joe Biden then put up a picture of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old from Kenosha who shot three people, probably in self-defense by all available evidence. 0.88

00:39:40.000 There's zero evidence that Kyle Rittenhouse is a white supremacist.

00:39:43.000 Not some, zero.

00:39:45.000 Like, as in none.

00:39:46.000 Zero, zip, zilch.

00:39:47.000 Joe Biden is calling Kyle Rittenhouse a white supremacist.

00:39:49.000 When Joe Biden jumps in and he says, you know, the Proud Boys.

00:39:52.000 Okay, the Proud Boys are probably what you would call alt-right.

00:39:56.000 They're not overtly white supremacists, the Proud Boys.

00:40:00.000 The Proud Boys can get violent.

00:40:02.000 They are not a group that anybody should be associated with.

00:40:05.000 I got a lot of problems with the Proud Boys.

00:40:07.000 They are not overtly white supremacists.

00:40:08.000 They're not.

00:40:09.000 In fact, the founders of the Proud Boys disassociated from the Proud Boys, like Gavin McInnes.

00:40:13.000 He tried, I believe, to disassociate from the Proud Boys when he thought that they were associating too closely with white supremacists.

00:40:19.000 In any case, you don't have to defend the Proud Boys.

00:40:23.000 Bottom line here, Is that, I think the Proud Boys are a bad group.

00:40:26.000 Okay, bottom line here is that if you actually read the exchange that happened right there, if you read the exchange, what you will see is that Trump repeatedly says, sure, I'm willing to condemn white supremacists.

00:40:38.000 Here's the actual exchange again.

00:40:40.000 Wallace, are you willing to condemn white supremacists and militia groups?

00:40:42.000 Sure.

00:40:44.000 And to say they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we've seen in Portland.

00:40:49.000 Okay, so first of all, in Kenosha, that was not a white supremacist group.

00:40:53.000 In Portland, Patriot Prayer is not a white supremacist group.

00:40:56.000 So the basis of the question is in and of itself false.

00:40:58.000 It is not a true statement.

00:41:00.000 And Trump correctly says, I'm prepared to do it, but I'd say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing.

00:41:06.000 And I'm willing to do anything, I want to see peace.

00:41:08.000 And then Wallace being a pro, again, we'll get to Wallace in just one second. 0.99

00:41:11.000 Wallace was garbage last night, really bad. 0.98

00:41:13.000 He started off okay, and then he just went wild. 1.00

00:41:15.000 He says, then do it, sir.

00:41:17.000 And then Biden jumps in and says, yeah, do it, do it.

00:41:19.000 And Trump says, what do you want to call them?

00:41:20.000 Give me a name. 0.91

00:41:21.000 And Wallace says, white supremacists and right wing militias.

00:41:23.000 And Biden says, proud boys.

00:41:25.000 And then Trump says, proud boys, stand back and stand by.

00:41:28.000 Now, it is the and stand by that's killing him, right?

00:41:30.000 Because he says stand by, which makes it sound like I want you guys to like stand by in case there's violence and then go back in the cities.

00:41:36.000 So people are focusing in on the standby.

00:41:38.000 And then he says somebody's got to do something about Antifa and the left.

00:41:40.000 He didn't mean the Proud Boys have to do something about Antifa and the left.

00:41:43.000 You can tell that from his inflection.

00:41:44.000 He means that nobody in government is doing anything about Antifa and the left.

00:41:48.000 And Joe Biden explicitly refused to condemn Antifa on the stage.

00:41:51.000 On the stage.

00:41:52.000 That is not a clip of Donald Trump defending white supremacy.

00:41:55.000 You know who's actually being rational about this, of course?

00:41:57.000 Tim Scott.

00:41:58.000 Right?

00:41:58.000 So Senator Tim Scott, the black senator from South Carolina, He said, quote, I think he misspoke in response to Chris Wallace's comment.

00:42:06.000 He was asking Chris what he wanted to say.

00:42:08.000 I think he misspoke.

00:42:09.000 I think he should correct it.

00:42:10.000 If he doesn't correct it, I guess he didn't misspeak.

00:42:11.000 That is the rational response.

00:42:14.000 But this notion that Trump won't condemn white supremacy, even in the Charlottesville situation, the problem there was not that he wouldn't condemn white supremacy.

00:42:22.000 The problem is that he was equating the various groups at play there.

00:42:25.000 But he said, I'm explicitly not talking about the white supremacists, when he said that there were good people on both sides.

00:42:32.000 He was talking about people who he supposedly were marching with the white supremacists, but in favor of the Confederate statue.

00:42:39.000 And I said, well, who are those people?

00:42:40.000 Those people don't exist. 0.99

00:42:41.000 That's ridiculous. 0.99

00:42:42.000 He shouldn't be saying that sort of thing. 0.99

00:42:43.000 But did he condemn white supremacy?

00:42:45.000 He did repeatedly that weekend, over and over and over.

00:42:48.000 So again, this is part of a narrative that they've been driving for a long time.

00:42:52.000 And Trump is bad at this.

00:42:54.000 He is awkward with language. 0.89

00:42:56.000 That is not Donald Trump defending white supremacy.

00:42:58.000 That is a media lie.

00:43:00.000 Again, I can play the clip again.

00:43:01.000 That is not Donald Trump.

00:43:03.000 When he says, will you condemn white supremacists?

00:43:06.000 He says, sure.

00:43:07.000 Does that sound like no to you?

00:43:10.000 When Joe Biden was asked, would he condemn Antifa?

00:43:12.000 His answer was, Antifa is an idea.

00:43:13.000 It is not an organization.

00:43:14.000 That is an explicit refusal to condemn Antifa.

00:43:18.000 Yet only one of those is a headline.

00:43:20.000 Now again, if you go back to the chaos theory of this election, which is that people are going to vote for whomever is less chaotic, I'll say that the final note on the evening, which was Donald Trump talking about widespread voter fraud, it is true that universal mail-in balloting is a bad idea.

00:43:32.000 He made a distinction between you requesting a ballot and ballots being sent to your house.

00:43:36.000 He is right about all of that.

00:43:37.000 But him attempting to sort of lengthen the length of this election is a bad move for him.

00:43:41.000 Here was Trump concluding last night on voter fraud.

00:43:45.000 What's happening is incredible.

00:43:46.000 I just heard, I read today, where at least 1% of the ballots for 2016 were invalidated.

00:43:53.000 They take them.

00:43:54.000 We don't like them.

00:43:55.000 We don't like them.

00:43:56.000 They throw them out left to right.

00:43:57.000 They have mailmen with lots of it.

00:43:59.000 Did you see what's going on?

00:44:00.000 Take a look at West Virginia.

00:44:01.000 Mailmen selling the ballots.

00:44:03.000 They're being sold.

00:44:04.000 They're being dumped in rivers.

00:44:06.000 This is a horrible thing for our country.

00:44:08.000 There is no.

00:44:09.000 This is not.

00:44:10.000 This is not going to end well.

00:44:12.000 If I see tens of thousands of ballots being manipulated, I can't go along with that.

00:44:17.000 And I'll tell you what, from a common sense, I'll tell you what it means.

00:44:21.000 to take to the media of a fraudulent election.

00:44:23.000 And this is such a problem is Trump plays directly into the myths that Democrats want to push. We know that Joe Biden is going to contest the election. He already has hundreds of lawyers on standby.

00:44:32.000 There have been full articles written about his various plans with MoveOn.org and all of these various other groups to take to the streets should he lose the election.

00:44:40.000 All Donald Trump has to say here is, if any election is independently certified as fair and free, I will, of course, respect the results of the election.

00:44:47.000 We should be deeply concerned about the possibility of fraud, and we will use all law enforcement mechanisms to ensure that it does not occur.

00:44:54.000 I'm encouraging people to go in person because the possibility that you botched your ballot or that your ballot is sent in by somebody else, mail-in, that possibility exists.

00:45:02.000 So please vote in person, right?

00:45:03.000 I mean, there's a way to do this.

00:45:05.000 The, again, feeling of chaos last night does not benefit Trump.

00:45:07.000 It makes this thing a referendum on Trump's personality.

00:45:09.000 Okay, now, Chris Wallace last night was terrible.

00:45:12.000 I mean, truly awful.

00:45:13.000 Chris Wallace began and I think that he was so taken aback by Trump's very, very aggressive tactics, by Trump's crowd Biden strategy, right?

00:45:22.000 Got him up in the corner and then he was throwing jabs all night long.

00:45:25.000 I think he was so put off by that and so upset and miffed, frankly, I think he was so offended by Trump's tactic that he decided he was going to jump in and become a debater.

00:45:33.000 There are multiple times when Trump asked Biden a question and he would jump in and say, we're moving on to the next topic and just save Joe Biden.

00:45:39.000 There are multiple times when Joe Biden would get stuck and Wallace would kind of feed him at the next line.

00:45:44.000 There were multiple questions that he asked that were just bad questions.

00:45:47.000 And those ones are more inexcusable even because those questions were prepared in advance, right?

00:45:53.000 So Donald Trump very early on felt that Wallace was coming after him.

00:45:57.000 I thought early on that this was not quite fair because Donald Trump was in fact talking directly over Biden for about the first 15 minutes of the debate.

00:46:04.000 But Trump turned to Wallace and he said, I guess I'm debating you.

00:46:06.000 And pretty much it did turn into that.

00:46:08.000 By the end of the debate, Trump was not wrong about this.

00:46:11.000 You, in the course of these four years, have never come up with a comprehensive plan to replace Obamacare, and just this last Thursday, you signed a largely symbolic executive order to protect people with pre-existing conditions five days before this debate.

00:46:30.000 So my question, sir, is what is the Trump health care plan?

00:46:34.000 Well, first of all, I guess I'm debating you, not him, but that's OK.

00:46:37.000 I'm not surprised.

00:46:38.000 Let me just tell you something that there's nothing symbolic.

00:46:41.000 OK, the reason you said that is because Wallace had jumped in to save Biden in one of these exchanges.

00:46:48.000 Wallace's questions last night were terrible.

00:46:49.000 So here are some examples.

00:46:51.000 Here was Chris Wallace asking Donald Trump about banning critical race theory in the government.

00:46:57.000 Now, critical race theory, as we have discussed, is a racist ideology.

00:47:00.000 Critical race theory says that every institution in the United States is undergirded by racial supremacy.

00:47:05.000 Critical race theory suggests that just by dint of your skin, you're a beneficiary of white supremacy, and if you are not anti-racist, in other words, you don't want to tear down the entire system, you are racist.

00:47:15.000 Critical race theory training involves people literally telling white people, in rooms, sponsored by the government, that they are racist simply because they are white.

00:47:24.000 That's what this diversity training bullcrap from Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo is.

00:47:29.000 Chris Wallace just says something blatantly untrue in this question.

00:47:32.000 He says, why are you banning racial sensitivity training, Mr. President?

00:47:35.000 He's not banning quote-unquote racial sensitivity training.

00:47:37.000 He's banning critical race theory, which is a neo-Marxist garbage ideology that should not be taught on any college campus, any high school campus, any government agency, or any contracting agency with the federal government.

00:47:47.000 Here is Chris Wallace completely blowing the question here.

00:47:53.000 If you were a certain person, you had no status in life.

00:47:57.000 It was sort of a reversal.

00:47:59.000 And if you look at the people, we were paying people hundreds of thousands of dollars to teach very bad ideas, and frankly, very sick ideas.

00:48:07.000 And really, they were teaching people to hate our country.

00:48:10.000 And I'm not going to do that.

00:48:11.000 I'm not going to allow that to happen.

00:48:13.000 OK, so again, the fact that Wallace, why?

00:48:16.000 What's so bad about racial? 0.98

00:48:17.000 It's not racial sensitivity training.

00:48:18.000 It isn't.

00:48:19.000 The premise of the question is wrong.

00:48:22.000 And then, of course, you had Wallace asking Trump to condemn white supremacy.

00:48:24.000 He did not directly ask Joe Biden to condemn Antifa or Black Lives Matter.

00:48:28.000 He didn't ask him about any of that.

00:48:30.000 We had Chris Wallace harassing Trump about global warming.

00:48:33.000 I mean, it was like six, seven straight questions.

00:48:36.000 What do you believe about global warming, sir?

00:48:38.000 What do you believe about global?

00:48:39.000 If it had been Joe Biden, Wallace would have let it go.

00:48:39.000 He gave his answer.

00:48:41.000 Here was Wallace harassing Trump about global warming.

00:48:44.000 What do you believe about the science of climate change and what will you do in the next four years to confront it?

00:48:52.000 What do you believe about the science of climate change, sir?

00:48:55.000 Do you believe that human pollution, greenhouse gas emissions contributes to the global warming of this planet?

00:49:03.000 If you believe in the science of climate change, why have you rolled back the Obama Clean Power Plan, which limited carbon emissions in power plants?

00:49:13.000 Why have you relaxed Did Wallace badger Biden on anything like that last night?

00:49:25.000 He asked him like twice about packing the court and then Biden was like, I'm not answering it.

00:49:28.000 And then he let it go.

00:49:29.000 And I think everything was summed up by the end of the debate.

00:49:32.000 Joe Biden and Chris Wallace were laughing together, which basically sums up where Chris Wallace ended up by the end of the debate.

00:49:36.000 I don't think he intended to be there at the beginning.

00:49:38.000 This is certainly where he ended up.

00:49:41.000 Okay, now you've just turned into a debate participant and an ally of Joe Biden.

00:49:46.000 So, to sum up, Chris Wallace's performance was terrible for a moderator.

00:49:48.000 I'm having a little trouble myself.

00:49:50.000 Okay, now you've just turned into a debate participant and an ally of Joe Biden.

00:49:56.000 So to sum up, Chris Wallace's performance was terrible for a moderator.

00:50:00.000 I mean, really, really bad.

00:50:01.000 Two, Donald Trump's overaggressive performance distracted from anything relevant that he wanted to say.

00:50:07.000 So he didn't end up doing severe damage to Joe Biden.

00:50:10.000 And his sort of botchery on that white supremacy question ended up damaging him maybe a little bit, but I don't think it'll have any real effect, because again, this has been the longtime Democratic narrative that's a lie, that he won't condemn white supremacy.

00:50:19.000 He's literally called it evil from the rostrum many, many times.

00:50:22.000 And Joe Biden didn't perform exactly well either.

00:50:24.000 So where do we end up?

00:50:25.000 Status quo ante.

00:50:27.000 We end up exactly where we started, which is nobody gains, nobody loses.

00:50:31.000 The problem is for Donald Trump, the clock is running.

00:50:33.000 If he is ahead, great.

00:50:35.000 If he's behind, time is running out.

00:50:37.000 If you are going to clock Joe Biden and make a difference here, you need to let him hang himself with his own words.

00:50:42.000 And Trump wouldn't allow him to do that.

00:50:43.000 He just kept stepping in and crowding him.

00:50:45.000 You gotta let him breathe enough to fall over.

00:50:47.000 Okay, so the predictable reaction from the media was exactly what you would expect. 0.94

00:50:51.000 After spending years hyperventilating over every single thing Trump says, after turning our media culture into a series of low-level stupid debates, after hosting some of the most radical guests saying the most radical things, they were astonished and stunned, our members of the media, at how bad this was. 0.92

00:51:07.000 After going after Mitt Romney with the alacrity of a rabid monkey, They decided that they were going to get very offended by what happened here. 0.94

00:51:14.000 I saw a bunch of tweets last night.

00:51:16.000 People were like, remember that time that we all went after Mitt Romney for the binders full of women?

00:51:19.000 Ah ha ha, wasn't that a nicer time?

00:51:21.000 Wasn't that a richer time?

00:51:23.000 And the answer to that is, it was a better time, but it is your fault that this happened, media.

00:51:29.000 You did this.

00:51:30.000 You decided that Mitt Romney was to be treated like the plague in 2012.

00:51:34.000 Mitt Romney, the mildest, most milquetoast human being who has ever walked planet Earth.

00:51:39.000 He is the definition of a milquetoast human being, Mitt Romney. 0.72

00:51:43.000 Mitt Romney was clean as the driven snow as anybody gets in politics, and you decided to muddy him by suggesting that he strapped dogs to the tops of cars, forcibly cut the hair of gay kids in 1950, and was a racist who would put y'all back in chains in the words of Joe Biden.

00:51:57.000 So, you don't get to do this.

00:52:00.000 I'm so offended by the tactic.

00:52:03.000 How offensive?

00:52:05.000 As I've said before, Donald Trump is the coroner of American politics.

00:52:08.000 He is not the killer.

00:52:09.000 If you didn't like what Trump did last night, then you might want to take a gander at your own behavior, media.

00:52:14.000 But the media won't take a gander at it.

00:52:16.000 Instead, they just lament, how could this have ever happened?

00:52:17.000 How could George Stephanopoulos not say, worst debate ever, George Stephanopoulos.

00:52:21.000 Okay, George.

00:52:22.000 I agree.

00:52:22.000 It was a quite terrible debate.

00:52:24.000 I've said, I think it was the worst debate I've ever seen.

00:52:26.000 Also, how is George Stephanopoulos in a newsmaker's position, in a newsman's position, after positioning himself at the head of the Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton campaign in 1992?

00:52:37.000 How?

00:52:38.000 How does that happen?

00:52:39.000 You wonder how Donald Trump became president?

00:52:40.000 You didn't like what you saw up there? 0.96

00:52:42.000 Maybe it's because you created this monster.

00:52:44.000 As Jay Cost, Formerly of the Weekly Standard put it.

00:52:47.000 Dr. Frankenstein standing here going, look at this monster rampaging through the cities and, you know, like killing people.

00:52:52.000 This is terrible.

00:52:53.000 You created this.

00:52:54.000 You broke it.

00:52:55.000 You bought it.

00:52:56.000 Here was George Stephanopoulos last night.

00:52:59.000 As somebody who's watched presidential debates for 40 years, as somebody who's moderated presidential debates, as someone who's prepared candidates for presidential debates, as someone who's covered presidential debates, that was the worst presidential debate I have ever seen.

00:53:12.000 Okay, thank you, George Stephanopoulos.

00:53:14.000 Meanwhile, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, again, agreeing this is the worst debate ever after, you know, extraordinarily, extraordinarily high-pitched coverage of how Trump was a Russian cat's paw for four years.

00:53:25.000 It turns out that now everybody's upset with the tenor of American politics.

00:53:28.000 Well, I wonder how we got here, gang.

00:53:30.000 It's as though...

00:53:32.000 I'm highly irritated with this notion that is very central to American politics right now, that every bad thing began and ended with Donald Trump.

00:53:38.000 Donald Trump didn't appear and then speak words, and politics came into being.

00:53:42.000 Donald Trump is a result of the system.

00:53:44.000 A system built by the people on cable news.

00:53:46.000 Anyway, here are our cable news hosts being very upset last night.

00:53:49.000 That was a hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a train wreck.

00:53:56.000 That was the worst debate I have ever seen.

00:53:58.000 In fact, it wasn't even a debate.

00:54:01.000 It was a disgrace.

00:54:04.000 And it's primarily because of President Trump.

00:54:08.000 One thing for sure, the American people lost tonight because that was horrific.

00:54:14.000 You just took the words out of my mouth.

00:54:16.000 You used some high-minded language.

00:54:17.000 I'm just gonna say it like it is. 0.98

00:54:19.000 That was a sh** show. 0.97

00:54:21.000 Okay, and it was, but I'm just not willing to hear it from the members of the media who have been pursuing the bleep show for years and years and years. 0.98

00:54:28.000 I mean, Jeff Zucker was having phone calls with members of the Trump campaign in 2016 advising them.

00:54:33.000 Spare me the outrage.

00:54:35.000 Again, I'm not saying this about, you know, any one of these individual reports except for maybe Stephanopoulos, maybe Dana Bash a little bit.

00:54:42.000 The media's shock and awe at this debate.

00:54:46.000 You created this.

00:54:47.000 This was all you.

00:54:48.000 Okay, so now the media have a new narrative.

00:54:50.000 And the new narrative is, maybe this is the last debate, gang.

00:54:52.000 Maybe this will never happen again.

00:54:54.000 Now, the Biden campaign has already said that they want more of this.

00:54:56.000 They've already said, no, no, no, we're going to do more debates.

00:54:59.000 I, you know, maybe it's because they think that their their guy did okay last night.

00:55:03.000 And in essence, he didn't lose last night because nobody won last night.

00:55:07.000 But here is Wolf Blitzer trying to put it out there.

00:55:09.000 I would not be completely shocked if Biden simply pulls out of the rest of the debates.

00:55:12.000 I would be shocked if he says that behavior was so egregious and the media cover for him.

00:55:15.000 That behavior was so egregious that I just can't.

00:55:18.000 Here is Wolf Blitzer making that suggestion last night.

00:55:22.000 This was the most chaotic presidential debate I've ever seen, and I suspect most of you, if not all of you, have ever seen the most chaotic presidential debate.

00:55:31.000 And it will certainly raise a lot of questions, raising a lot of questions about the future of the presidential debate between these two candidates.

00:55:40.000 I wouldn't be surprised, by the way, if this is the last presidential debate I mean, how badly do the media want Joe Biden to win?

00:55:52.000 They were making this argument a while ago, right?

00:55:54.000 Nancy Pelosi was saying maybe there won't be any debates because they figured that Biden was winning.

00:55:57.000 So hide Biden in the basement.

00:55:59.000 That's their strategy.

00:56:00.000 And they hope to continue that going forward because they still don't want to answer any serious questions.

00:56:04.000 Remember, in this debate, Joe Biden refused to condemn Antifa, called all of America's systems racist, and then refused to answer whether he would stack the Supreme Court.

00:56:10.000 And that's the debate he supposedly won.

00:56:13.000 That's not a good showing by Joe Biden.

00:56:16.000 It's just that, again, Donald Trump's tactics were so distracting that it was very difficult for people to actually fully grasp what the hell was going on.

00:56:25.000 Okay, we'll be back here a little bit later today with two additional hours of content, more recap, an insane story.

00:56:30.000 Apparently, there is now a... We're doing full-on malice struggle sessions.

00:56:36.000 By professors at Ohio State University who have suggested they like sports.

00:56:40.000 Apparently, you're not allowed to say that you like sports anymore.

00:56:42.000 That's racist.

00:56:43.000 We'll get to that a little bit later on in the day.

00:56:45.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow.
