00:02:07.000 The best way to find your new employee.
00:02:09.000 ZipRecruiter.com slash DailyWire.
00:02:11.000 Alright, so.
00:02:13.000 The media are awful.
00:02:14.000 They are awful.
00:02:15.000 I've been highly critical of the phrase fake news because I feel like it's overused.
00:02:19.000 I think there are a lot of people out there who use the phrase fake news to mean news I don't like.
00:02:22.000 But what we have seen over the past 48 hours has been absolutely fake news from the mainstream media who are just parroting lines from Hamas.
00:02:29.000 At this point, they are just parroting lines from one of the world's worst terror groups.
00:02:33.000 It is obvious, and it is disgusting.
00:02:35.000 Really horrifying.
00:02:36.000 I mean, it's nothing new.
00:02:37.000 In 2014, I was on CNN in the middle of the Gaza War, and I actually told the CNN anchor to her face that Hamas was, in fact, a propaganda wing of, that CNN was a propaganda wing of Hamas, because it was clear at that time when they were claiming that Israel was indiscriminately targeting civilians, even as Hamas was hiding its headquarters under a hospital and hiding weapons in mosques and schools.
00:02:58.000 See, Hamas has a certain goal.
00:03:00.000 Their goal is to make headlines.
00:03:01.000 They know they're never going to be able to defeat Israel in any military fashion.
00:03:05.000 And they also know that Israel has no interest in going into the Gaza Strip again and deposing them because then Israel has to run the place and they don't want to do that.
00:03:11.000 So Hamas has it kind of easy.
00:03:12.000 All they have to do is make sure their own population doesn't rebel against them.
00:03:16.000 And the way to do that is by attacking Israel every so often and getting a lot of glowing press from the world.
00:03:20.000 And the world is happy to give that glowing press because the world despises Israel for the same reason that the world despises America.
00:03:27.000 They see Israel as a colonizing power in the Middle East, even though the history of Israel shows Jews have been there continuously for 3,000 years.
00:03:34.000 No, according to the left, Israel is a colonial imperialist power in the Middle East stomping its boot all over the faces of the people who were there before.
00:03:42.000 That is historically inaccurate, but that is the story that is told by folks on the left wing.
00:03:46.000 And so anytime they can say that Israel is acting illegitimately, they will do that.
00:03:50.000 And that's exactly what they have been doing over the past 48 hours.
00:03:52.000 So first,
00:03:54.000 I want to start with this headline from the New York Daily News.
00:03:56.000 So the New York Daily News, this is 15, the New York Daily News put out this headline.
00:04:00.000 This was their front page today.
00:04:02.000 This is a blood libel.
00:04:03.000 For people who don't know what the blood libel is, a blood libel is the old anti-Semitic canard that Jews kill Christian children and then use their blood in Passover matzahs.
00:04:11.000 It was used as an excuse to murder Jews in pogroms for legitimately centuries.
00:04:17.000 And that's what this is right here, this Daily News cover.
00:04:19.000 Because the idea here is that the Jews are just happy to kill non-Jews.
00:04:23.000 That's the idea.
00:04:24.000 So, here's what it says.
00:04:25.000 It's a picture of Ivanka Trump looking very pretty.
00:04:27.000 She was there at the dedication of the new U.S.
00:04:30.000 Embassy in Jerusalem.
00:04:32.000 She's dressed to the nines.
00:04:33.000 And the picture is her gesturing to her left.
00:04:36.000 Okay?
00:04:36.000 And what she was actually gesturing to was a placard that is on the building that says, dedicated by U.S.
00:04:41.000 President Donald Trump.
00:04:42.000 Okay, but the Daily News has put a picture over that.
00:04:45.000 And the picture they've put over that is a picture of some wounded Palestinian being dragged away by other Palestinians.
00:04:51.000 And then in giant headline, it says, Daddy's Little Ghoul.
00:04:55.000 Daddy's Little Ghoul.
00:04:56.000 So it's Ivanka Trump's fault that Hamas has now put up thousands of people to storm the Israeli border in an attempt to get people killed specifically, so the media will cover it this way.
00:05:04.000 So it says, Daddy's Little Ghoul, 55 slaughtered in Gaza, but Ivanka all smiles at Jerusalem embassy unveil.
00:05:11.000 F you, Daily News.
00:05:12.000 F you.
00:05:12.000 I mean, this is a blood libel.
00:05:13.000 It is.
00:05:14.000 It's saying Ivanka Trump was Jewish.
00:05:16.000 Ivanka, just like all those other Jews, look at her.
00:05:18.000 She doesn't care if Palestinians get killed.
00:05:20.000 She doesn't care if innocents are having their blood shed.
00:05:23.000 She doesn't care about any of those things.
00:05:24.000 And that's what's happening.
00:05:25.000 If you look at the media coverage today, it is all that.
00:05:27.000 It's all, look at these innocent Palestinians being slaughtered wholesale by the Juden.
00:05:32.000 It's just terrible.
00:05:33.000 How could the Jews do something quite so awful?
00:05:36.000 And you're getting this routine from Stephen Colbert.
00:05:38.000 Right, so here's Stephen Colbert mocking Donald and Ivanka and Jared Kushner, also Jewish, over the Jerusalem embassy opening.
00:05:44.000 Now the president couldn't be there himself because, you know, the angry people.
00:05:49.000 So instead, he sent peace treaty Barbie and collusion Ken.
00:05:54.000 Jared.
00:05:59.000 Jared explained that the embassy was good for peace.
00:06:03.000 When there is peace in this region, we will look back upon this day and remember that the journey to peace started with a strong America recognizing the truth.
00:06:15.000 Okay, well, oh, isn't that funny?
00:06:16.000 Because they're making fun of his high voice by piping in somebody with a higher voice.
00:06:19.000 Oh, it's so funny.
00:06:20.000 The entire media yesterday was putting this stuff on split screen.
00:06:23.000 They were putting on split screen the situation in Jerusalem with the situation in Gaza.
00:06:28.000 Now, let's be real about the situation in Gaza.
00:06:30.000 Hamas has organized for weeks these riots at the border in an attempt, dramatically, to create footage that they can then use as an excuse to claim that Israel is the great oppressor in the Middle East.
00:06:42.000 It is produced.
00:06:43.000 It is created.
00:06:44.000 This is not a spontaneous uprising.
00:06:46.000 It's not a spontaneous peaceful protest.
00:06:48.000 This is, in fact, a series of riots directed at invading the Israeli border.
00:06:51.000 And this isn't just me saying this, OK?
00:06:53.000 This is top members of Hamas.
00:06:54.000 Hamas is the government in the Gaza Strip.
00:06:57.000 Notice.
00:06:57.000 You notice that yesterday, amidst all of this chaos on the Gaza Strip, there was nothing happening in Judea and Samaria in the West Bank.
00:07:04.000 Nothing.
00:07:04.000 Palestinian Authority.
00:07:05.000 They weren't doing this.
00:07:06.000 So there was nobody at the border.
00:07:08.000 Nothing was happening.
00:07:09.000 In Jordan, nothing was happening.
00:07:10.000 In Egypt, nothing was happening.
00:07:12.000 In Saudi Arabia, nothing was happening.
00:07:13.000 In Iran, nothing was happening.
00:07:15.000 In Syria, nothing was happening.
00:07:16.000 In Lebanon, nothing was happening.
00:07:18.000 Which suggests that maybe this was being produced for the cameras by Hamas.
00:07:22.000 How do I know that it was being produced by the cameras, for the cameras by Hamas?
00:07:25.000 Well, because the Palestinians have been saying this, because Hamas has been saying this.
00:07:29.000 So, for example, let me show you, let me play for you a video of Hamas leader Yaya Sinwar.
00:07:35.000 OK, this is from early April.
00:07:36.000 It's April 6th.
00:07:37.000 OK, I'm going to translate.
00:07:38.000 I have the translation in front of me from memory.
00:07:40.000 OK, here is Yaya Sinwar, who is the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
00:07:44.000 He's the governor.
00:07:45.000 He's the guy's the head of the government there.
00:07:47.000 Says, we have come out today and we will come out also in the next few days.
00:07:50.000 Our people and our boys will surprise.
00:07:54.000 The entire world with what they have in store.
00:07:56.000 Let them wait for our big push.
00:08:01.000 We will take down the border with Israel, and we will tear out their hearts from their bodies.
00:08:05.000 Peaceful protest, guys.
00:08:06.000 It's just a peaceful protest.
00:08:07.000 And if you point out that Hamas is a violent terrorist group, and that the people of the Gaza Strip elected Hamas in 2006 to lead them, this is impolitic.
00:08:16.000 You can't mention this.
00:08:17.000 This is a bunch of women and children and babies who are sitting peacefully, and then the Israelis started shooting them, if you pay attention to the mainstream media coverage.
00:08:24.000 By the way, it's not just Yahya Sinwar.
00:08:25.000 This was yesterday, a Hamas official on Al Jazeera explaining that those were not peaceful protests.
00:08:30.000 These are not peaceful protests.
00:08:31.000 This is from Al Jazeera Network, a senior Hamas official named Mahmoud al-Zahar.
00:08:35.000 Again, I'll read you the translation.
00:08:37.000 It says, when you have weapons that are being wielded by men who are able to prevent the strongest army in the region from entering the Gaza Strip for 51 days,
00:08:49.000 And we're able to capture or kill soldiers of that army.
00:08:57.000 Is this really peaceful resistance?
00:09:01.000 This is not peaceful resistance.
00:09:03.000 Me saying this.
00:09:04.000 Has the option of armed struggle diminished?
00:09:06.000 Again, a Hamas official.
00:09:07.000 No.
00:09:07.000 On the contrary, it is growing and developing.
00:09:09.000 That's clear.
00:09:11.000 So when we talk about peaceful resistance, we are deceiving the public.
00:09:16.000 This is peaceful resistance bolstered by a military force and by security agencies.
00:09:23.000 And enjoying tremendous popular support.
00:09:26.000 Hamas is very obvious about what they're doing, folks.
00:09:28.000 They're not hiding the ball here.
00:09:29.000 The media are actively complicit in this anti-Israel blood libel, in this anti-Jewish blood libel.
00:09:34.000 They are actively complicit at this point in what amounts to a blood libel against Jews, suggesting that Jews are indiscriminately shooting people en masse.
00:09:41.000 It is a lie.
00:09:42.000 It is not true.
00:09:43.000 Here is tape of Palestinians attempting to breach the border fence.
00:09:46.000 Israel has been dropping leaflets all over Gaza saying, do not try to approach the border fence or you will be shot.
00:09:52.000 That's because they've been using the border fence, trying to break through the border fence in order to kill Jews.
00:09:57.000 Yesterday, they were saying openly, there were Palestinians who were telling the press openly what their goal was.
00:10:01.000 It was so funny, the press was trying to say, well, you guys don't really mean any of this stuff, right?
00:10:05.000 You don't really mean any of this stuff.
00:10:06.000 On NPR, one of the NPR anchors asked a Gazan with a kite with a swastika on it, why he was flying a kite with a swastika on it.
00:10:14.000 And he said, the Jews go crazy when you mention Hitler.
00:10:16.000 So Steve Inskeep, who's the anchor, he said, he asked if he knows the Israelis are using the swastikas to discredit Gazans, right?
00:10:23.000 So NPR trying to change the story into, well, you know, they're selectively choosing your kite with the swastika.
00:10:28.000 You know, that's what they're doing here.
00:10:29.000 So what does the Gazan say?
00:10:30.000 He says, it's what we mean.
00:10:31.000 We want them to burn.
00:10:33.000 They're not being subtle.
00:10:35.000 There's no subtlety here.
00:10:37.000 The Gaza Strip is filled with people who want Israel destroyed and want to kill Jews.
00:10:41.000 And those people have elected people in the Hamas government in order to do just that.
00:10:45.000 If they don't like what's going on in the Gaza Strip, well, they're supposedly supposed to have elections.
00:10:49.000 Now, there are a lot of people who are peace-loving, I'm sure, in the Gaza Strip.
00:10:53.000 But not the people who were approaching the border yesterday.
00:10:55.000 Those are not people who are interested in peace.
00:10:57.000 And they're certainly interested in being used as human shields by Hamas.
00:11:01.000 There's no question that this is what Hamas is doing.
00:11:03.000 They've admitted this.
00:11:05.000 You can see that these guys are bringing sandbags toward the border wall.
00:11:10.000 And now you see this guy, this kid, they're sending out kids and teenagers to bring tires to the border wall and then burn the tires as a distraction, as a smoke screen.
00:11:17.000 And then you can see all these guys hiding behind the hill.
00:11:19.000 They've been trying to go up to the border fence with bolt cutters and trying to cut through the border fence.
00:11:24.000 This is one of the things they've been doing.
00:11:25.000 Also, Israel had experienced yesterday a serious problem.
00:11:29.000 Okay, does this look like peaceful protest to you?
00:11:31.000 It's not peaceful protest.
00:11:32.000 You see these giant clouds of black smoke that are coming from tire fires that are being used to obscure the terrorist activities of people along the border.
00:11:40.000 The IDF, the Israeli Defense Forces, they tweeted out
00:11:43.000 They tweeted out tape of yesterday of shooting attack on Israeli forces.
00:11:47.000 You're told that Israel was firing on unarmed people.
00:11:51.000 The IDF tweeted out yesterday afternoon the IDF received intelligence that Hamas operatives were preparing to cross through the security fence from northern Gaza.
00:11:58.000 IDF special forces arrived at the scene and eight armed terrorists hurled pipe bombs and grenades at the soldiers and the security fence.
00:12:04.000 And they've made the tape available for anyone to look at online.
00:12:07.000 But we're being told by the media that Israel is the real problem here.
00:12:10.000 Israel obviously is the serious issue.
00:12:13.000 All of this is just nonsense.
00:12:14.000 It's just nonsense.
00:12:15.000 And I have more evidence that it's nonsense in just one second.
00:12:18.000 First, I want to say thanks to new sponsors.
00:12:20.000 Our new sponsors are the folks over at Betterment.
00:12:22.000 So, I'm a person who has a financial advisor.
00:12:25.000 I have a financial advisor because I'm not the person who wants to sit there and check through my investments and try to figure out what's a good investment, what's a bad investment.
00:12:32.000 Also, just like anyone else, I have a tendency to overreact to market conditions.
00:12:36.000 Well, this is why you need a professional investment advisor who is going to make sure that your best interests are taken into account.
00:12:41.000 Betterment is the largest online financial advisor designed to help customers build wealth, plan for retirement, achieve their financial goals.
00:12:47.000 And it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg to have a financial advisor now.
00:12:50.000 They have low fees.
00:12:51.000 Hidden costs are nowhere to be found at Betterment.
00:12:53.000 No matter who you are or how much money you invest, you get everything for one low transparent management fee, so they're not making money off of
00:12:59.000 You know, trading in a bunch of stock.
00:13:01.000 Instead, you're paying one low transparent management fee.
00:13:04.000 The advice is in your best interest.
00:13:05.000 They are your fiduciary, which means they make recommendations in your best interest.
00:13:08.000 They're not incentivized to sell certain funds.
00:13:10.000 They're not trying to sell you on anything.

00:14:06.000 Okay, so again, all of the evidence is that Hamas is using human shields, that Hamas is attempting to create headlines, and they are doing just that.
00:14:15.000 They're doing just that.
00:14:16.000 They're happy to do just that.
00:14:18.000 Okay, according to the Israeli Security Agency, Yahya Ejli is a Hamas member arrested on April 29th.
00:14:23.000 He told them that Hamas was instructing its activists to cut the fence, that they want their activity to be seen, quote, in the international media as a popular uprising and not as a violent action led by its militants, and that Hamas members are embedded in the general population for purposes of public relations.
00:14:36.000 Another Palestinian terrorist captured by Israel said that, quote, Hamas militants in civilian clothes
00:14:42.000 encourage children to try to cross the fence in order to steal IDF equipment.
00:14:46.000 In other words, Hamas is using human shields.
00:14:48.000 They're using women.
00:14:48.000 They're using children.
00:14:49.000 They're trying to breach the fence.
00:14:51.000 Their plan here is that the operatives are not going to breach the fence.
00:14:54.000 They're going to let women and children do it.
00:14:55.000 And then they're going to rush through into Israel and attempt to kill as many Jews as possible.
00:15:00.000 Never mind that Hamas has participated in an ongoing war with Israel since its election in 2006.
00:15:04.000 They fought Israel in 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, and now.
00:15:08.000 Never mind that.
00:15:09.000 It must be the Israelis.
00:15:11.000 It must be Ivanka Trump.
00:15:12.000 This must be Ivanka Trump's fault.
00:15:13.000 You know, before Ivanka Trump, none of this was happening.
00:15:16.000 Before Ivanka Trump, it wasn't like Hamas was an evil terrorist group trying to kill people.
00:15:19.000 It wasn't like they committed homicide bombings trying to murder people.
00:15:21.000 No, no.
00:15:22.000 They would never do anything like that.
00:15:24.000 That would be crazy.
00:15:25.000 They're nice people.
00:15:26.000 They're really great.
00:15:27.000 By the way, here's some
00:15:29.000 Here's some of the protesters chanting death to America and death to the Zionists yesterday.
00:15:32.000 Very nice people.
00:15:34.000 That means death to America.
00:15:41.000 Means death to the Zionists.
00:15:42.000 Yeah, just charming, charming folks.
00:15:44.000 By the way, good indicator that you're not involved in normal protesting when you've got your face covered like that because you don't want the Israeli troops to know exactly who you are.
00:15:52.000 Well, the White House did the right thing here.
00:15:54.000 The White House said the Hamas is to blame.
00:15:55.000 So here's Raj Shah from the White House doing the right thing.
00:15:56.000 What a difference between the Trump administration, the Obama administration.
00:16:00.000 The Obama administration constantly looking for an excuse to blame the only democracy in the Middle East for defending itself.
00:16:05.000 But Raj Shah not doing that at the White House.
00:16:07.000 Good for him.
00:16:09.000 Well, we believe that, you know, Hamas is responsible for these tragic deaths, that their rather cynical exploitation of the situation is what's leading to these deaths, and we want them stopped.
00:16:23.000 And that obviously is true.
00:16:24.000 Jared Kushner said the same thing yesterday at the Jerusalem embassy.
00:16:27.000 Everybody was aware that this was going on in Gaza, and Kushner said, listen, the people who are provoking violence are the problem.
00:16:33.000 That would be Hamas.
00:16:34.000 As we have seen from the protests of the last month and even today, those provoking violence are part of the problem and not part of the solution.
00:16:43.000 So the Trump administration has its head screwed on straight.
00:16:45.000 The media, of course, are happy to parrot whatever propaganda comes down the line.
00:16:49.000 I'm going to show you some of that propaganda in just a second because it really is quite stunning.
00:16:53.000 We'll begin with NBC's Peter Alexander.
00:16:56.000 So Peter Alexander, he asks at the White House, does the U.S.
00:17:00.000 approve of Israel killing Palestinians at will?
00:17:02.000 Those are his words.
00:17:03.000 Killing Palestinians at will.
00:17:05.000 I will show you in a second that Israel is not killing Palestinians at will, but it doesn't matter.
00:17:08.000 NBC thinks they are, because NBC is an awful outlet when it comes to its coverage of Israel.
00:17:14.000 Here is, again, Peter Alexander, White House reporter, questioning Raj Shah about Israel's activity.
00:17:19.000 So to be clear, does the U.S.
00:17:20.000 not agree with the French that Israeli authorities should exercise discretion and restraint?
00:17:25.000 We believe that Hamas is responsible for what's going on.
00:17:28.000 So there's no responsibility beyond that on the Israeli authorities?
00:17:30.000 Kill at will?
00:17:31.000 What I'm saying is that we believe that Hamas as an organization is engaged in cynical action that's leading to these deaths.
00:17:39.000 Kill at will?
00:17:40.000 Kill at will.
00:17:40.000 So apparently there have been about 60 people killed.
00:17:42.000 Those statistics are being put out by Hamas, so you never know which ones are real and which ones are not.
00:17:46.000 The same thing happened during the 2014 Gaza war.
00:17:49.000 When Hamas put out all sorts of statistics about numbers of civilians who were killed, it turned out the vast majority of the people who were killed were actually terrorists or terrorist associates.
00:17:56.000 So here are some of the pictures of the people who were killed yesterday in Gaza.
00:18:01.000 Okay, this is from Bjorn Stritzel, who's a reporter in the region.
00:18:03.000 Gaza, first martyrdom pictures coming in.
00:18:05.000 10 killed were members of Hamas's internal security apparatus.
00:18:09.000 Why, it's so indiscriminate!
00:18:10.000 It's just crazy, it's so indiscriminate.
00:18:12.000 60 people were killed and 10 were members of Hamas.
00:18:15.000 Because I know that in America, if you shot 60 people indiscriminately, 10 would be members of a terrorist group, obviously.
00:18:21.000 I mean, let's be real about this.
00:18:22.000 If you were to just randomly mow down a bunch of people, clearly, at least one-fifth, one-sixth of them would be actual terrorists.
00:18:30.000 Maybe it's not that indiscriminate, gang.
00:18:31.000 Islamic Jihad, by the way, three of them were members of Islamic Jihad as well.
00:18:35.000 And they're still identifying some of the other folks.
00:18:37.000 There were headlines yesterday about a woman whose baby died, an eight-month-old baby died after the area she was in had tear gas.
00:18:45.000 Why are you bringing an eight-month-old baby to an area with tear gas?
00:18:48.000 Why in the world would you do that?
00:18:51.000 I'm sorry, under any circumstance, that's evil.
00:18:54.000 To bring an eight-month-old baby to a place where you know tear gas is going to be fired is the wrong thing to do.
00:18:59.000 Why would you endanger the life of your child to stand out there on behalf of Hamas?
00:19:03.000 It's just crazy.
00:19:04.000 But look how the media cover this stuff.
00:19:06.000 Again, Hamas does this for a living.
00:19:08.000 This is their shtick.
00:19:09.000 It's all for the cameras.
00:19:11.000 It's legitimately all for the cameras.
00:19:12.000 OK, so there's there's tape that is going around today of a Palestinian doing, we see one of these pretty much every Gaza war, a Palestinian who's approaching the fence on crutches.
00:19:23.000 And then the Israelis start targeting him and he puts down the crutches and he starts running as fast as possible.
00:19:29.000 OK, amazing.
00:19:29.000 He's been cured.
00:19:30.000 It's a miracle.
00:19:31.000 Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:32.000 He just did his crutches.
00:19:33.000 He just threw them aside.
00:19:34.000 It was a miracle.
00:19:35.000 Or it turns out that this sort of stuff happens routinely because the Palestinians understand.
00:19:39.000 Palestinian leadership understands the value of a picture.
00:19:42.000 I remember about 10, 15 years ago, during the Second Intifada, there was a very famous thing where there was a march where a Hamas member was supposed to have died and they were marching with his body.
00:19:53.000 And then the body fell off of the stretcher and got up and started walking because the person wasn't dead at all.
00:19:58.000 They just knew the cameras were on them.
00:20:00.000 This sort of stuff, this sort of staging happens routinely.
00:20:02.000 It has been happening for 20 years in this particular area.
00:20:06.000 The media don't want to cover any of this because the media want a narrative.
00:20:08.000 And the media's narrative is, this is all Trump's fault.
00:20:11.000 Trump is creating the chaos, ignoring the fact that this has been going on for literally months at this point.
00:20:15.000 Years at this point.
00:20:16.000 They want to make sure that Israel is seen as the perpetrator, even though Israel is not the perpetrator.
00:20:20.000 Every country has to defend its border.
00:20:22.000 Particularly a country has to defend its border when Hamas is spending its spare cash, and not just its spare cash, all of its cash, building terror tunnels into Israel to kidnap Israeli children and Israeli soldiers and murder as many people as possible.
00:20:35.000 But apparently Israel's the bad guy.
00:20:36.000 Here's an MSNBC contributor, Eddie Glaude, who yesterday was very upset about all the people dead in Gaza.
00:20:44.000 While Donald Trump is doing this and may look for a deflection, it's not necessarily gonna help the midterms.
00:20:50.000 All that's important, and all of those babies are dead.
00:20:54.000 All of those people are dead!
00:20:55.000 They're dead!
00:20:58.000 And we're talking about racehorses.
00:21:00.000 I mean, the politics.
00:21:01.000 I mean, there are a lot of folks who are dead today.
00:21:04.000 OK, so why don't we talk about why all those folks are dead?
00:21:06.000 Why don't we talk about why all those folks are dead?
00:21:07.000 Instead, we're just going to shout over and over, those people are dead, and then point to the Jews who, again, have not been shooting anyone over there until the Palestinians decided they were going to rush the border.
00:21:17.000 OK, they announced this in advance.
00:21:19.000 This was all planned to pretend otherwise is a lie.
00:21:21.000 And the media are lying to you.
00:21:22.000 The New York Times is lying to you.
00:21:24.000 Fareed Zachariah, all these people are lying to you.
00:21:27.000 They're lying to you when they say that this was spontaneous.
00:21:29.000 They're lying to you when they say this is peaceful.
00:21:31.000 It was not peaceful.
00:21:32.000 It was not spontaneous.
00:21:33.000 It was organized by Hamas with the explicit purpose of attempting to generate these sorts of headlines.
00:21:38.000 And the New York Times is the worst of the bunch.
00:21:40.000 I have to read you this New York Times headline.
00:21:44.000 The New York Times is now saying that the United Nations is condemning Israel.
00:21:48.000 Ooh, the United Nations.
00:21:49.000 Oh, the vaunted United Nations.
00:21:51.000 The United Nations Human Rights Office issued a series of statements targeting the Israeli government.
00:21:55.000 And of course, the New York Times immediately parroted them.
00:21:57.000 They tweeted out a picture of a woman hugging her dead baby.
00:22:00.000 Again, this is the baby that was killed by tear gas because this woman decided to obey the commands of Hamas and go hang out where tear gas was being fired.
00:22:07.000 Genius.
00:22:08.000 And the New York Times tweets out, enough is enough.
00:22:10.000 U.N.
00:22:10.000 human rights officials said that Israel's use of lethal force against Palestinian demonstrators was unjustified and could amount to grave breaches of international law.
00:22:18.000 And then they quote a bunch of people from the U.N.
00:22:20.000 They quote Rupert Colville, who's the spokesman for the U.N.
00:22:23.000 High Commissioner for Human Rights.
00:22:32.000 Now, the New York Times won't tell you who is actually on the UN Human Rights Council.
00:22:35.000 They won't actually tell you who's on it.
00:22:37.000 It's 15 African states, 12 Asian states, 5 Eastern European states, 11 Latin American and Caribbean states, Western Europe and other states, 10.
00:22:45.000 The African group is chaired by the representative from Morocco, the Asian group is chaired by the representative from Saudi Arabia, and the Eastern European group is chaired by the representative from Azerbaijan.
00:22:54.000 So just a bunch of countries that love human rights.
00:22:56.000 All three of those places are dictatorships, by the way.
00:22:59.000 The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, al-Hussein, is a member of the Jordanian royal family.
00:23:04.000 So, they won't tell you any of these things.
00:23:05.000 They won't tell you the Human Rights Council has issued 135 critical resolutions from 2006 to 2016, and 50% of them were directed at Israel.
00:23:14.000 They won't tell you that in the New York Times.
00:23:15.000 They'll just parrot all of the verbiage of the United Nations, suggesting that this was somehow a major statement about Israeli policy.
00:23:25.000 Israel has not farted in the last 70 years without the U.N.
00:23:28.000 condemning them.
00:23:29.000 That is just the way the U.N.
00:23:30.000 works.
00:23:32.000 One-third of the U.N.
00:23:32.000 is staffed by the Organization of Islamic Countries, which is like 58, 60 countries, all of whom disagree with the existence of the State of Israel to begin.
00:23:40.000 The New York Times never reports that when they talk about the U.N.
00:23:43.000 No, the U.N.
00:23:43.000 is a vaunted organization.
00:23:45.000 I love this from Fareed Zakaria as well, speaking of media bias.
00:23:48.000 Fareed Zakaria trying to claim, of course, that the Jerusalem embassy move is what provoked everything that happened in Gaza.
00:23:53.000 And he says that the embassy move was a major concession to Israel.
00:23:56.000 It was a major concession with nothing in return.
00:23:58.000 The irony of this statement is beyond words.
00:24:00.000 It was a very non-strategic move, by which I mean to say Trump is supposed to be the master of the art of the deal.
00:24:06.000 It's very rare to make a major concession to one side without getting something from the other.
00:24:13.000 This has been a prize.
00:24:14.000 Look, there are 86 countries that recognize Israel.
00:24:17.000 All their embassies are in Tel Aviv.
00:24:19.000 This is a very big gift to Israel.
00:24:23.000 You would normally imagine that if it were part of a larger strategic plan, you would ask the Israelis in return
00:24:29.000 Okay, I love this.
00:24:34.000 That somehow we have to, the United States is supposed to use the movement of the embassy to Jerusalem as leverage against Israel.
00:24:40.000 I don't remember Fareed Zakaria complaining too much about the Iran deal in which we handed over 150 billion dollars to the Iranian government in exchange for nothing.
00:24:47.000 In exchange for zero things.
00:24:49.000 A promise that they would be nice.
00:24:51.000 I don't remember Fareed Zechariah being quite that critical, but you acknowledge that Israel's capital is Israel's capital and that Jerusalem is sovereign Jewish territory and has been since its inception, and suddenly, then we have to talk about real trade-offs here.
00:25:03.000 We have to talk about the political expediency of moving the embassy to Jerusalem.
00:25:07.000 The anti-Israel bias in the media is palpable, and we have to examine why that bias exists in the first place.
00:25:12.000 I think that the bias exists for a couple of reasons.
00:25:14.000 Number one, if you look at media coverage of Israel up till 1967, it was very strongly in favor of Israel.
00:25:19.000 That was because the Jews were seen as the victims until 1967.
00:25:22.000 So the media was very sympathetic to the plight of the Jews after the Holocaust, and they believed that Israel should become a state, and Israel was a thriving country that was moving in the direction of socialism.
00:25:33.000 In 1967, Israel not only defeats its enemies, but destroys its enemies.
00:25:37.000 In the Six Day War, Israel pushes Egypt all the way back to Cairo.
00:25:40.000 Israel pushes into Jordan.
00:25:42.000 Israel pushes into Syria.
00:25:43.000 Israel pushes into Lebanon.
00:25:44.000 It's an amazing military feat.
00:25:46.000 All of that was incredible.
00:25:48.000 And the left turns on Israel because now Israel is seen as the great victimizer.
00:25:52.000 Suddenly, Israel is a westernized country that is moving toward the United States and not toward Russia.
00:25:57.000 It is not a coincidence that the Russian government, the USSR government, began pushing pan-Arabism and alliance with Russia
00:26:04.000 At the same time that the western left began turning against Israel.
00:26:08.000 This is not a giant coincidence.
00:26:09.000 In 1967, the media turns against Israel, and they have never turned back.
00:26:13.000 And today, the argument is that Israel is the great oppressor in the Middle East, even though Israel is the only liberal country in the Middle East, the only country where, frankly, Muslims can live in democracy in the Middle East.
00:26:23.000 There is no other Muslim democracy in the Middle East.
00:26:25.000 Israel is the best Muslim democracy in the Middle East, and it's a Jewish country.
00:26:28.000 Nobody else is voting.
00:26:29.000 Israel has people sitting in its parliament who believe in the destruction of the state of Israel.
00:26:33.000 That's how much of a democracy Israel is.
00:26:34.000 But Israel is the bad guy.
00:26:36.000 Israel is the only place in the Middle East where gays and lesbians can live in peace.
00:26:40.000 Israel is the only place in the Middle East where Christians can live in a relative amount of peace.
00:26:44.000 OK, Coptic Christians in Egypt are having a real rough time right now.
00:26:47.000 In Israel, you're doing just fine if you're Christian.
00:26:49.000 And yet Israel is the target.
00:26:51.000 And Israel's the target because, again, Western civilization, according to members of the hard left, is a bad thing that has created oppression
00:26:58.000 It's created an intersectional coalition of victim groups.
00:27:00.000 And the Palestinians are among the victim groups.
00:27:02.000 The Jews can no longer be among the victim groups because now the Jews are the victimizers.
00:27:05.000 And therefore, everything that happens in Israel doesn't matter if it's self-defense, doesn't matter if it's Israel just protecting its borders.
00:27:11.000 Everything has to be Israel's fault.
00:27:12.000 And the media are going to continue to parrot these lies.
00:27:14.000 This is why it is incumbent on everyone to go out and do their own research.
00:27:18.000 Take a look at the tape.
00:27:19.000 You'll see what you'll see.
00:27:20.000 Just a few minutes ago, the Palestinians blew up their own gas depot.
00:27:24.000 They just blew up their own gas depot because they wanted
00:27:26.000 We're good to go.
00:27:41.000 All of this is produced for the cameras and the Western media make it more likely that Palestinians will die when they push this stuff.
00:27:47.000 It's just terrible.
00:27:48.000 Honestly, it's just terrible.
00:27:49.000 It means more Palestinians will die.
00:27:50.000 It means more civilians will die.
00:27:52.000 It means that more Palestinians will believe that extremism and violence are a way to convince the Western media to pressure Israel.
00:27:58.000 The media are really complicit in something quite horrible here.
00:28:01.000 It really is just awful.
00:28:03.000 Okay, so in just a second, I want to talk about the situation in Seattle, where apparently Seattle has passed what they call their head tax.
00:28:10.000 But first, you're going to have to go over to dailywire.com and subscribe.
00:28:14.000 So first, let me note,
00:28:14.000 That the tickets that are supposed to be on sale right now for the Ben Shapiro live events, that website is down for the moment.
00:28:20.000 We are fixing it.
00:28:21.000 We're on top of it.

00:28:58.000 Is Hillary really your cousin?
00:28:59.000 I love that this is true.
00:29:01.000 Do you think history will ever be honest looking back on Obama's legacy?
00:29:05.000 Yes, but not anytime soon.
00:29:06.000 If the White House offered you a choice to spend the day with one of the Trumps, who would it be and why?
00:29:11.000 I'm going to say Obama.
00:29:12.000 That's the safe answer.
00:29:14.000 Well, was it Melania or Ivanka?
00:29:15.000 Well... What is your whiskey or bourbon of choice?
00:29:18.000 I prefer scotch whiskey.
00:29:20.000 It's my favorite kind of whiskey.
00:29:21.000 But again, that's only for breakfast.
00:29:22.000 So Evan is asking, where do you get your dresses?

00:30:04.000 Leave us a review.
00:30:05.000 We always have great stuff coming out.
00:30:06.000 We are the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast in the nation.
00:30:14.000 Alrighty, so meanwhile, Seattle has decided that a great job, a great idea, would be to put a head tax on the biggest company in their city.
00:30:23.000 So I used to do a radio show in Seattle specifically, for KTTH in Seattle, which is also a station that carries the show.
00:30:30.000 And KTTH
00:30:33.000 One of the things that we did is we did a debate with Shama Sawant.
00:30:35.000 Shama Sawant is a city councilwoman for Seattle.
00:30:37.000 She's an open socialist.
00:30:39.000 She's a person who actually said that the Boeing plant should be taken over, okay, and the Boeing plant should make civilian airliners.
00:30:45.000 They should take everything that was being made for the military and convert it to civilian airliners, I believe is what she said about Boeing.
00:30:50.000 She is a kind of crazy person.
00:30:52.000 I did a debate with her about minimum wage.
00:30:53.000 She was the leader of the $15 minimum wage campaign.
00:30:56.000 She was also the leader of this concept.
00:30:58.000 She wanted a head tax on Amazon.
00:31:00.000 The head tax on Amazon would establish a tax of $275 per employee per year on companies with more than $20 million in annual revenue in the city, which means basically Starbucks and Amazon.com, right?
00:31:11.000 I mean, those are the only two companies that make more than $20 million in Seattle.
00:31:15.000 At least they're very few.
00:31:16.000 The tax passed on Monday.
00:31:18.000 It's supposed to raise $50 million annually.
00:31:21.000 To fight the homelessness crisis.
00:31:22.000 Under the amended tax, Amazon will be on the hook for about $11 million annually, rather than the $20 million that the original proposal would have levied.
00:31:29.000 Here was Shama Sawant trying to push the head tax.
00:31:32.000 We're talking about taxing either the 5% or the 10% or somewhere in that range of the largest businesses in Seattle.
00:31:39.000 So these are not your mom-and-pop stores, your local coffee shops, immigrant-owned stores.
00:31:43.000 We're talking about the Amazons, the Facebooks, the Macy's, the Nordstroms, the really top-tier corporations that are making historic profits and making profits for their billionaire shareholders.
00:31:54.000 So we're saying if you take a small amount of those corporations' profits and you raise about $150 million every year, you could
00:32:01.000 Okay, so small businesses shouldn't pay taxes according to Shama Salman, but all of the large businesses should pay all the taxes.
00:32:07.000 Microsoft, by the way, of course, is also located in Seattle.
00:32:20.000 OK, so here is the problem.
00:32:21.000 The idea here is that all this money is going to be tossed into affordable housing.
00:32:24.000 I know something about Seattle.
00:32:26.000 Seattle's problem with the homeless has nothing to do with the fact that Amazon is located in Seattle.
00:32:31.000 So yes, there are more people who are working in Seattle.
00:32:33.000 This means that there is more upward pressure on the prices for rent and for homeowning in Seattle.
00:32:38.000 But you know what that would normally generate?
00:32:40.000 A lot of building, would it not?
00:32:42.000 It would normally generate a lot of developers building things, you know, like building new units so they can take advantage of the booming economy in Seattle.
00:32:49.000 And the fact that Seattle is now a population magnet, one of the few population magnets in a leftist state.
00:32:54.000 Wouldn't that be logical?
00:32:56.000 Well, there's one problem.
00:32:57.000 The City Council has also barred developers from building new stuff.
00:33:00.000 So, that means there are no new units, and so the rents are going up.
00:33:02.000 It turns out that when there is high demand and low supply, the prices are high.
00:33:07.000 Also, Seattle, in an attempt to not get rid of those regulations, in an attempt to avoid those regulations, Seattle has allowed tent cities to crop up all around the city.
00:33:15.000 Just as in San Francisco, if you walk around Seattle now, you will see ginormous tent cities located under freeway underpasses.
00:33:23.000 There was a situation a few years back where a guy who was homeless fell off a freeway overpass onto the freeway.
00:33:29.000 All of this stuff has been happening because Seattle has stupid regulations with regard to housing.
00:33:33.000 And they also have regulations with regard to affordable housing that don't actually put restrictions on the people who can come into the affordable housing.
00:33:39.000 So they have something called the drunk dorms in Seattle.
00:33:41.000 We're good.
00:33:58.000 A tent city full of homeless people where disease can easily spread in areas where they live.
00:34:03.000 But the Seattle City Council, because they're liberal, because they're so kind-hearted, they've decided it's not important to allow developers to build more units.
00:34:10.000 No, not that.
00:34:11.000 Instead, we're going to tax the hell out of Amazon.
00:34:13.000 Now, what's amazing is that you see tech workers actually protesting this because they understand that it's quite possible that if these taxes continue to rise, companies like Amazon, companies like Microsoft, if they have to open a new outlet, if they have to open a new building, they're not going to do it in Seattle.
00:34:26.000 They're going to move out.
00:34:26.000 They're going to find someplace else that's not going to tax them $275 an employee.
00:34:30.000 So this is really funny.
00:34:32.000 There are a bunch of city council members speaking about the head tax, and a bunch of tech workers were out there actually yelling at them, no head tax.
00:34:45.000 I mean, look at these guys.
00:34:45.000 These are all blue-collar guys wearing actual hard hats.
00:34:48.000 And that is not a bunch of staged nonsense.
00:34:50.000 These are a bunch of people who understand that these businesses are going to locate elsewhere.
00:34:54.000 It's always amazing that there are so many folks on the left who are unwilling to see the unintended consequences.
00:35:00.000 of their economic actions.
00:35:01.000 They say, listen, we have to be so sympathetic to the homeless.
00:35:04.000 We have to let them sleep on the streets.
00:35:06.000 We do.
00:35:06.000 We have to let them sleep on the streets.
00:35:07.000 So what happens?
00:35:08.000 Homeless people from other places come and sleep on the streets of Seattle.
00:35:11.000 And then the homeless population grows.
00:35:12.000 They say, you know what?
00:35:13.000 We have to be sympathetic.
00:35:14.000 What we really should do is we should allow them to bring tents.
00:35:17.000 We should allow them to build tents.
00:35:18.000 We'll build tents, and then we'll bring resources to bear to help them out.
00:35:22.000 And what happens?
00:35:22.000 The population swells.
00:35:23.000 And now you have thousands of people on the streets of Seattle living in tents.
00:35:27.000 They say, you know what, probably all these people are here not because there's a severe mental illness issue with a lot of folks who are homeless, not that there's a severe drug issue with a lot of folks that are homeless.
00:35:35.000 They're here because they used to work at Amazon and now they're unemployed and they can't get a house.
00:35:39.000 It must be the affordable housing crisis.
00:35:41.000 Now, we don't want to let people build new developments because that would just spoil our waterline.
00:35:45.000 That would spoil the skyline of Seattle if we were to have new developments being built.
00:35:49.000 We can't do that.
00:35:51.000 We certainly can't do that.
00:35:52.000 But what we can do is we can take the businesses that we do have and we can really tax them to build affordable housing.
00:35:57.000 So they build more affordable housing and what happens?
00:35:59.000 A bunch more homeless people show up to take advantage of the affordable housing and the businesses leave because now the taxes are higher.
00:36:04.000 This is how you clean out nice major cities.
00:36:07.000 You take a major city that is booming economically, you slap a bunch of crappy left policy on top of it, and guess what happens?
00:36:13.000 People leave.
00:36:14.000 Businesses take off.
00:36:15.000 In the state of California, they've been seeing this for years.
00:36:17.000 When you raise taxes, businesses leave.
00:36:19.000 When you create new regulations, businesses leave.
00:36:22.000 And listen, the climate in Seattle is nice like at least eight days a year, but that doesn't mean these companies are going to stay there for those eight days a year.
00:36:29.000 They will move out.
00:36:30.000 Just because they started in Seattle doesn't mean they aren't going to gradually move out.
00:36:34.000 And you're seeing that.
00:36:34.000 Boeing, for example, which is located in the Seattle-Tacoma area, Boeing has started building plants all over the country and other places where they are not going to be cracked down on by local government.
00:36:44.000 This is why you should not elect socialists to your local government, City of Seattle.
00:36:48.000 And small businesses, if the idea is that this is going to benefit small businesses, having all the consumers leave, all the people who work at Amazon buy from small businesses.
00:36:55.000 Having all those consumers leave is not going to help the small businesses who are located in Seattle.
00:37:01.000 But again, all that matters is the intention.
00:37:02.000 And the people in Seattle city government, they feel so good about themselves.
00:37:06.000 They feel so nice about themselves.
00:37:08.000 The reason I talk about Seattle is because the left likes to use these sort of economic policies writ large.
00:37:12.000 They're always stupid.
00:37:13.000 They're always counterproductive.
00:37:14.000 And that's exactly what's going to happen here.
00:37:16.000 It's going to be stupid and it's going to be counterproductive.
00:37:18.000 OK, meanwhile, President Trump is very, very angry about leaking.
00:37:21.000 So as we discussed yesterday, there's a serious problem inside the White House with people leaking to media outlets outside the White House.
00:37:27.000 And part of that is because the media are so on top of everything that's happening in this White House.
00:37:31.000 They love the rumors.
00:37:32.000 They love the chaos.
00:37:33.000 It is their favorite narrative.
00:37:35.000 But over the past couple of days, there was a leak that really hurt the administration.
00:37:38.000 Where a relatively mid-level staffer said in a meeting, her name is Sadler, she said in a meeting that they didn't have to worry about John McCain's vote on Gina Haspel, the CIA nominee, because McCain was going to die soon anyway.
00:37:50.000 They should have just come out and finished the story.
00:37:51.000 They should have just said, listen, sorry, never should have said it.
00:37:54.000 It was a bad joke made in a bad moment.
00:37:57.000 Instead, they didn't, and so this story continues now into day seven, which is really a waste of time.
00:38:01.000 But Donald Trump has tweeted out, quote,
00:38:14.000 Well, part of the problem for President Trump here is that when it comes to staffing of his administration, the chaos in the administration does start from the top.
00:38:21.000 There's a lot of backbiting during the campaign.
00:38:23.000 A lot of backbiting.
00:38:24.000 People in the administration do not like each other.
00:38:26.000 There are a lot of people in the administration who are at odds with one another.
00:38:29.000 And they know that there's always an eager ear on the other end of the phone.
00:38:33.000 One thing that you can say about George W. Bush and something else that you can say about Barack Obama
00:38:38.000 Within their teams, they inspired a certain amount of unity and cohesiveness.
00:38:41.000 If you talk to Dana Perino, who worked in the Bush White House, everybody was basically on the same page.
00:38:45.000 They understood that George W. Bush was the boss, and they understood that they were not going to be able to turn against each other and leak to the press all that often without Bush stepping in and doing something about it.
00:38:55.000 The problem for President Trump is that President Trump actually likes the chaos.
00:38:58.000 He's always liked the governance by chaos.
00:39:00.000 He sort of sees his administration the same way the Joker sees staffing up his gang, right?
00:39:07.000 Donald Trump's the kind of guy, President Trump's the kind of guy who likes to break a pool queue in half and toss it in front of three guys and then say, OK, I have room for one of you.
00:39:16.000 That's sort of how Trump has always operated.
00:39:18.000 He's done this with a lot of his staffers for a very long time.
00:39:20.000 What that's going to do is generate an incentive for people who are working under President Trump to leak bad stuff about other staffers and try and get them ousted on the basis of that.
00:39:28.000 Now, what President Trump probably should do is he should take everybody in that room who is not a vital employee and fire them.
00:39:34.000 He should probably fire everyone in that room because apparently, well, not many people in the room.
00:39:39.000 I've talked to some people who are in that room.
00:39:40.000 Apparently, not a lot of people in that room.
00:39:42.000 So that means that you could probably fire people and get away with it.
00:39:45.000 Okay, and not only that, you probably should fire people because you need to send the message to your own administration that leaks will not be tolerated.
00:39:52.000 And that this sort of attempt to take down the administration from the inside will not be tolerated either.
00:39:59.000 Now, do I think that these are deep state holdovers?
00:40:01.000 No.
00:40:02.000 I think what this really is, is a bunch of people who don't like each other and they see a warm ear in the media and they are more than happy to exploit that warm ear in the media.
00:40:10.000 So, again, I think that President Trump should do a better job
00:40:14.000 of staffing his administration, and he should do a better job of cracking down on leakers, especially the ones who are working for the executive branch.
00:40:21.000 He can't really control what's happening over at the FBI or the CIA too much, but he can control what is happening inside the White House for sure.
00:40:27.000 Now, meanwhile, the Cannes Film Festival is going on.
00:40:29.000 This is, of course, the place where everybody talks about movies that no one will ever see.
00:40:33.000 And one of the big movies that's about to come out is a movie from Spike Lee, who has not made a good movie since Do the Right Thing.
00:40:37.000 It's been quite a while since Spike Lee made anything relevant.
00:40:40.000 Well, he's made a new movie.
00:40:41.000 It's called Black KKK Klansman.
00:40:43.000 Sure to be a massive hit at theaters.
00:40:45.000 And apparently the film is about race relations from the 1970s to present.
00:40:50.000 And Spike Lee says the film was, quote, on the right side of history, a phrase that I absolutely despise.
00:40:54.000 There is no right side of history.
00:40:55.000 There is just right and wrong.
00:40:56.000 History doesn't have a side.
00:40:57.000 It's a bunch of stuff that happened.
00:40:59.000 Spike Lee says about President Trump, that MF-er was given a chance to say we are about love and not hate, and that MF-er did not denounce the MF-ing Klan, the alt-right, and those Nazi MF-ers.
00:41:09.000 It was a defining moment.
00:41:10.000 He could have said that to the world, that we were better than that.
00:41:12.000 Black KKK Klansman is based on an incredible true story of black police detective Ron Stallworth, who infiltrated the KKK in the 1970s.
00:41:21.000 And Variety has called the film as much a compelling black empowerment story as it is an electrifying commentary on the problems of African-American representation across more than a century.
00:41:29.000 Of cinema.
00:41:30.000 And this is being hailed as a great movie.
00:41:32.000 Maybe it is.
00:41:32.000 Maybe it's really good.
00:41:33.000 We will find out in very short order.
00:41:35.000 Suffice it to say, Hollywood is not warming to President Trump in any serious way.
00:41:39.000 If Spike Lee actually wanted to make things better, perhaps he should reach out to President Trump.
00:41:43.000 Listen, I think criticism is warranted about a lot of the things that President Trump has said.
00:41:47.000 But I think at this point, your best move is to reach out to President Trump.
00:41:50.000 He clearly wants to reach out to people on all sides.
00:41:53.000 At the very least, he could be reaching out in exchange.
00:41:55.000 Okay, time for some things I like and then a thing that I hate.
00:41:58.000 So, today's thing that I like.
00:41:59.000 So, I'm excited about this.
00:42:00.000 This is really cool.
00:42:01.000 So, my dad back in the early 90s, I was like eight years old, he wrote a musical about the Scarlet Pimpernel.
00:42:06.000 The Scarlet Pimpernel is, of course, a very famous novel, classic novel, about a British guy who tries to go to revolutionary France during the French Revolution and spirit away aristocrats to save them from the guillotine.
00:42:19.000 There's a very bad musical version made by Frank Wildhorn.
00:42:22.000 It is not good.
00:42:22.000 It was panned by the New York Times for good reason.
00:42:24.000 It's garbage.
00:42:25.000 My dad wrote a musical version, the music and lyrics for The Scarlet Pimpernel.
00:42:29.000 The book was by a guy named Dave Waller, who's a good friend of my father's.
00:42:32.000 And the musical is really first rate.
00:42:34.000 We put it up on YouTube and you can listen to the entire thing.
00:42:37.000 The libretto is also available there.
00:42:38.000 You can click on a link.
00:42:39.000 It will take you to the full text so you can see what everybody is saying.
00:42:42.000 And it really is a lot of fun.
00:42:43.000 Here is what it sounds like.
00:42:44.000 This is the beginning.
00:42:45.000 of the Scarlet Pimpernel.
00:42:46.000 This is the scene in the Revolutionary Square where aristocrats are being beheaded, and the population, of course, is very excited about all of this.
00:42:57.000 What's a day for revelry and amusement?
00:43:01.000 Not a cloud to block this jolly event.
00:43:05.000 Just when lethal Satan our memory reminds us, there's always more room for a head on the guillotine.
00:43:15.000 What a pleasure cutting the necks of the wristers!
00:43:19.000 Strange as all, but fun to observe them up there.
00:43:24.000 When they beg for mercy, we merely inform them.
00:43:26.000 There's always more room for a hand on the guillotine stair.
00:43:34.000 Men and women, children and infants, it matters not in the least.
00:43:38.000 Royalists who nourish King Louis, who nourish King Louis while we nourish malice.
00:43:42.000 The ones who spouted, let them eat cake while they gave themselves a feast.
00:43:47.000 Now are free to stock themselves royally.
00:43:54.000 So if you like Les Mis, okay, then this is, I think, better than Les Mis.
00:43:57.000 The music is more set to the time, but it's really good.
00:44:02.000 The lyrics are really clever, and you can check out the whole thing over at YouTube and read the entire libretto there.
00:44:06.000 I remember when my dad was making this.
00:44:07.000 It was really, really cool.
00:44:09.000 It went to a festival in New York, and then the Wild Horde version came out at the same time as this, and the Wild Horde version had a lot of money behind it, but it's a really, really good piece of work.
00:44:18.000 It's an amazing piece of work, actually.
00:44:19.000 So go check it out.
00:44:20.000 The Scarlet Pimpernel by my father.
00:44:21.000 Uh, and you can check it out at YouTube and give it a listen.
00:44:24.000 Okay, time for a quick thing that I hate.
00:44:30.000 Okay, so the thing that I hate today, Stormy Daniels has been hailed as a heroine.
00:44:34.000 She's a female empowerment legend, Stormy Daniels.
00:44:37.000 She's just a wonderful, wonderful person who is standing up to the predations of evil, evil men.
00:44:42.000 Well, it turns out that she has some problems of her own.
00:44:46.000 So according to Tasha Rain, who is another porn star, she tweeted out, quote, I was inappropriately groped and sexually harassed by one of the men on your crew November 15th, right before my BG scene, which you were then made aware of that day.
00:44:58.000 You continue to allow him to stay on the set with no repercussion.
00:45:01.000 I never questioned your directorial skills.
00:45:03.000 So she says that she couldn't believe that Stormy Daniels was talking about how she was always so good for women and you should stand up for yourself and you should report it.
00:45:13.000 So it was very upsetting to see her speak there like that.
00:45:15.000 And then I think, but I know the real you.
00:45:16.000 I was there.
00:45:17.000 I saw what you did.
00:45:18.000 She said, it's tricky because I don't even like Stormi.
00:45:21.000 I don't like her at all.
00:45:22.000 She says, I was sexually assaulted by one of her crew members.
00:45:24.000 He grew up and grabbed me from behind.
00:45:25.000 I spoke up immediately because I was in the moment and I was so proud of myself.
00:45:28.000 She was the director that day.
00:45:29.000 I went straight to her and straight to the man that did it.
00:45:31.000 Had a conversation about it.
00:45:32.000 I went to the owner of Wicked Pictures.
00:45:33.000 I did all the right things and she did not handle the situation appropriately, respectfully or professionally.
00:45:37.000 So it's a little bit outrageous when I hear her say things about how she is standing up for women and wants to be a voice for other women to be able to come forward when I was assaulted on her set and she didn't give me any care or attention and didn't even send that man home.
00:45:48.000 Apparently this happened November 15th of last year, okay, so this is pretty recent.
00:45:51.000 She said, I'd always looked up to Stormi, I'd shot for her before, ran into her at conventions, we even traveled once to Seattle at the beginning of my career when I believe they were considering me for a contract role position at Wicked.
00:46:00.000 I know her, so I was stoked.
00:46:02.000 And she had some dialogue, and then she says that Daniels was basically making fun of the Me Too movement in so many words talking to the crew.
00:46:09.000 She said, all I could be seen as Harvey Weinstein because I'm flirtatious with my crew members and I can be inappropriate.
00:46:13.000 And apparently, uh, Reign, uh, was uncomfortable, but she let it go.
00:46:17.000 So, uh, all of this suggests that Stormy Daniels may not, in fact, be the innocent, decent human being that we all thought she was.
00:46:25.000 I can't believe it.
00:46:26.000 I am so shocked.
00:46:27.000 I am so shocked.
00:46:27.000 Again, does any of this justify President Trump's behavior?
00:46:30.000 No!
00:46:30.000 But, before the media start
00:46:32.000 Slapping a crown on this lady, slapping a nun's habit on this woman and declaring that she's a saint.
00:46:39.000 They might want to take a look at her history.
00:46:41.000 And Tasha Reign speaking up and saying, well, yes, Stormy Daniels, not such a great person.
00:46:46.000 OK, so we'll be back here tomorrow with all the latest.
00:46:48.000 I'm sure that there will be lots more horrible reports from the media about what's going on in Israel.
00:46:51.000 We'll have to debunk all of them.
00:46:53.000 And we will be back there then.
