Coronavirus has been a disaster in Serbia. My family and friends have been affected by it and it s been a nightmare. Here s what s been going on and how it s affected our family. I ll talk about what we ve been dealing with and how we dealt with it.
00:00:00.120Two months ago when we got here, we got here the day the country was opened and the president here said, you know, there's no coronavirus, everyone go about your business.
00:00:10.240But it turned out, I guess, that part of that was because elections were coming up.
00:00:16.360So there was three weeks, stadiums were open, there was a soccer game with 40,000 people.
00:00:22.820Anyway, so three weeks into it, elections end and they go, oh, there's coronavirus everywhere.
00:00:28.480We're shutting down the country again and there were riots.
00:00:32.020And so we all went into quarantine and my husband, my baby and I actually went into the clinic my dad was in on recommendations from his doctor saying just like hunker down here for a few weeks until this until this is over.
00:00:50.480And so we all got tested when we went in. We're all negative.
00:00:52.980Ten days into quarantine, we all get symptoms.
00:00:58.200And it was like everybody in the hospital got it.
00:01:02.540And it was not that big a deal for my husband and I and my baby.
00:01:09.860But it ended up affecting both of my dad's lungs.
00:01:13.560So this is the second time he got pneumonia this year.
00:01:18.740He got it in the Russian hospital and now he got it in the Serbian hospital.
00:01:22.100And he was put on a whole bunch of like kind of preemptively he was put on antivirals and things.
