00:03:36.000In fact, it was one of the top talking points that was always used by left-wing activists when I would visit college campuses about what the reason to vote for Democrats or for liberals.
00:03:50.000And now we see the people in charge of our corporations, our government, and even our schools pushing medicine, pushing an experimental vaccine on our children and our young people.
00:04:05.000Now, this is a violation of the promise of America.
00:04:08.000It's a violation of basic individual sovereignty.
00:04:12.000And this is happening at a rapid and very concerning pace.
00:04:18.000Now, at Turning Point USA, we have launched a program to stand up for students against mandatory vaccinations where they are being forced to take a vaccine against their will.
00:04:29.000This was met with some mockery amongst the smug public health people saying no one's actually mandating those vaccines that doesn't exist.
00:06:08.000And for me, it's not something that I felt was right for my health.
00:06:12.000So in 2019, I was diagnosed with Guillain Beret syndrome, also known as GBS, which can be caused by vaccines and a number of other viral infections, lots of different things.
00:06:24.000But I was paralyzed from the waist down for about a month.
00:07:11.000I knew Heavenly Father had a plan for me.
00:07:12.000And I said, if he doesn't want me to walk again, and if he has a plan for me not to dance, then I won't.
00:07:17.000So when I found out BYU Hawaii was going to be doing this, I reached out to my medical providers and we decided, yes, that it was not a good idea for me to get vaccinated.
00:07:25.000So BYU Hawaii came out saying that they would offer a medical or religious exemption and they made it seem very accessible.
00:07:56.000Um, I decided to appeal this with my parents.
00:07:58.000My mom and my dad were very just not happy because their daughter had always had this dream and now it was being taken away from her for something she couldn't control.
00:08:09.000So, we took it to the highest authority that we could.
00:08:11.000We got in contact with the president of BYU Hawaii and they said that they would re-review my case and get back to me as soon as they could.
00:08:19.000And again, I was denied a medical exemption.
00:08:21.000So, now I've decided that I'm not going to go.
00:08:24.000But, um, about a week ago, I wrote on my Instagram to my friends and my family saying that I wouldn't be going anymore because everyone knew it was my dream.
00:08:33.000When I got in, I cried, I was shared it with everyone.
00:08:48.000There are so many kids that have reached out to me that are like, I applaud you for reaching out and like talking about this because no one has this.
00:09:45.000I have a friend who runs an Instagram account about BYU Hawaii and all this going on.
00:09:49.000And she reached out to everyone saying, if you submitted a medical exemption, please tell me if you got accepted or denied and send me what they sent you.
00:09:56.000100% of everyone that contacted her was denied, medical or religious.
00:10:02.000So do you have a doctor that has written on your behalf saying that if you get a vaccine, something adverse might happen?
00:10:11.000Yeah, it could end in possible death or permanent paralysis.
00:10:52.000It's so, it's so hard to read because it's like the divide between the student and staff right now is insane because there's these kids who are like, I don't want to get vaccinated, but I also really want to go to Hawaii.
00:11:03.000So do I just conform to this like vaccine and just get it anyway, even though I don't feel comfortable with it?
00:12:09.000And then they talk about this and announce this in the middle of June, leaving students with hardly any time to find an alternative option.
00:12:17.000And BYU Hawaii doesn't give an alternative option.
00:12:46.000So your body does not mesh well with vaccine.
00:12:49.000No, my body, when I have a virus come in, I, what I believe how they explained it to me is instead of my body attacking the virus, it attacked my nerves, my nervous system.
00:12:59.000This happens to a lot of people, by the way.
00:14:25.000But at the same time, I know that what I'm talking about is giving hope and inspiration to so many people because not many people are talking out about this.
00:15:31.000Would you would you go back if all of a sudden you got an exemption now?
00:15:35.000So that's something I've actually thought about because I'm like, well, what if they just let me in so that I stopped talking in the media, right?

00:17:46.000So BYU is a LDS Latter-day Saint school.
00:17:50.000We have a lot of LDS that listen to our podcast, listen to our radio program.
00:17:54.000We're broadcasting in a lot of different markets where there's very heavy LDS populations.
00:17:59.000How does a school that is rooted in faith reconcile mandating an experimental vaccine, where most vaccines, by the way, are developed using aborted fetuses?
00:18:12.000Honestly, I think it's a really hard thing to talk about because the church is one thing and the school is another.
00:18:18.000Although the church does influence the school and the school bases itself off of these morals that we have, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I'm very proud to be one.
00:18:33.000But I've had a lot of backlash being like, oh, you're bashing the church for speaking out about this, which I'm not.
00:18:38.000If you read the post, I'm talking about my faith the whole time.
00:18:42.000So it's hard because the church has come out and said, consult with your medical providers and decide what's best for you.
00:18:47.000There's no mandate, no discrimination if you're not getting the vaccine, although it's encouraged if you feel that it's fine for you, right?
00:18:55.000But the school, on the other hand, is like, nope, you have to get it.
00:18:58.000There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
00:19:00.000So it's hard to differentiate the two because the church is saying one thing while the school is saying the other, although the school bases itself off of these church morals.
00:19:20.000So for any people that are LDS listening to this on radio or podcasts, I would encourage you to write to BYU Hawaii the same way I tell Catholics to reach out to Notre Dame, the same way I would tell evangelicals to reach out to whatever mainline evangelical school that's out there if you find something that you disagree with that's in your religious belief.
00:19:40.000So you are LDS and the kind of intersection here is very interesting because in the LDS community, I would imagine that kind of having hesitancy towards massive pharmaceutical intervention is a belief a lot of LDS families have, right?
00:21:12.000BYU Provo, BYU I, Idaho, and BYU Pathway.
00:21:16.000That's not something that they've mandated, but it is in Hawaii.
00:21:19.000And so obviously with Hawaii being the way it is, it's more of a leftist state.
00:21:25.000And I'm sure that more people there believe that the vaccine is only going to help them, which if that's what they want to believe, fine.
00:21:32.000But it's not that the church is mandating it on the school, but the school has decided to mandate it on itself.
00:21:38.000So according to VARES, which is the vaccine adverse event reporting system, there have now been 9,048 deaths associated with the Chinese coronavirus vaccine.

00:23:02.000If it was so, if this was, is there something nefarious going on here where they want the children to get it, but they don't care if the adults do?
00:23:11.000Maybe there might be something else at play here.
00:23:16.000And so what, what are your, what, I want to talk more about the kind of cultural side of this, which, so talk about the negative pressure and response you've gotten from your friends.
00:23:24.000Have you lost friends over this stance for this opinion?
00:23:48.000I truly posted my Instagram post to tell my family and friends that I wouldn't be going anymore, but that I knew my Heavenly Father had a different path for me and I would be okay.
00:23:56.000But I wanted to bring light to the situation.
00:23:58.000And then when it blew up, I was like, Wow, people need to know about this.
00:24:02.000And I've had so many people thank me, but I also have so many people being like, You just don't understand, or I'm getting called a racist or not wanting a vaccine.
00:24:17.000And yes, I've lost friends, but it's worth it to me because these kids don't have the ability or they're too afraid to stand up for what they truly believe and they're conforming to this vaccine.
00:24:27.000And I don't understand how that's okay.
00:24:29.000And I also want to make this very clear: lockdowns are coming again, and masks are coming because we don't even know the efficacy of this vaccine.
00:26:57.000And this last week has been insane, but it has given me so much hope.
00:27:01.000You're like, I know that there is a greater cause than for me to go to BYU Hawaii.
00:27:07.000And like all these kids that are going through the same thing need to speak up about it because we are the future generation of this world and this country.
00:27:14.000Like we need to stand up for what we believe because if not, we are all going to conform to society for the rest of our lives and no one will be able to speak up for what we truly believe to be true.
00:27:25.000And our generation is quite honestly being used as this massive Petri dish experiment when adults are not even having to comply.
00:27:33.000I mean, if you have a mandate, a moral mandate, a very basic one is you should not steal from future lives for your own life.
00:28:44.000But here's what gives me hope: your story is now being heard literally across the entire country and throughout all podcasts across the country.
00:28:53.000So, Olivia, I want to ask you this question.
00:28:55.000Someone said that this inoculation policy is based on the state of Hawaii's requirement that students coming to the state must be inoculated.
00:31:20.000It has really shown me that if I want something to happen, I need to stick up for what I believe.
00:31:26.000As I was growing up, my dad always was the one who told me, hey, today while you're at school, be the one to change something.
00:31:32.000Be the one to reach out to someone who's sitting alone.
00:31:34.000And that was something I learned all growing up: that I needed to speak up for what I believed in, to defend my church, to defend what I believe.
00:31:41.000And if anyone goes against that, that's fine.
00:31:55.000It's great that the media is starting to cover this and people are starting to talk about it, but other kids need to speak up and do the same because I know I am not alone.
00:32:04.000I've received thousands of direct messages on Instagram of kids saying, I'm going through the same thing.
00:32:41.000Unfortunately, it puts you in this position.
00:32:43.000And for parents out there, I just want to end with this note.
00:32:46.000We can't keep on having people like Olivia have to uproot their entire life's plans because of this fear that, but honestly, super unfounded, that if every student at the University of Hawaii gets vaccinated, the stats show that some of them might have some adverse events and reaction.
