00:03:43.000When I first got started in the movement, the think tanks, the intellectual, the philosophical backbone of the movement was indeed libertarian.

00:04:01.000And being a autodidact, meaning self-taught, being someone who loves to learn and to read, I went deep down the libertarian rabbit hole.
00:04:14.000I read Lugu von Mises, Murray Rothbard, F.A. Hayek, Henry Hazlitt, Milton Friedman, read Thomas Sowell.
00:04:26.000And I don't regret reading all those things.
00:04:28.000The deeper you go, the deeper you go, the more you kind of go, you realize that there is something missing, but at the time, you're not quite making those connective points.

00:07:22.000It is skeptical of collectivist and statist power and a preference and a prioritization on individual initiative, natural rights, and the sovereignty of the individual.

00:07:43.000Libertarianism has lost its way in the last few years.
00:07:49.000In the ideal, we should have some libertarian impulses in the Republican Party.
