00:01:40.000 My brother has never voted, neither has his sister.

00:02:01.000 Every conversation.

00:02:02.000 Find new voters.

00:02:05.000 Joining us now is Chip Roy.

00:02:08.000 Chip Roy is doing a great job and was pushing forward on the SAVE Act.

00:02:12.000 Congressman Roy, tell us again what is the SAVE Act?

00:02:15.000 Yeah, Charlie, great to be on the show.

00:02:18.000 Look, we set out a couple of months ago to make clear that we should ensure that only American citizens vote in American elections. 0.53

00:02:26.000 And people think, well, you know, gosh, wasn't that already unlawful?

00:02:30.000 Well, yeah, technically, we've had a law since the 90s that said, you know, it's criminal to vote in an election if you're a non-citizen.

00:02:39.000 But we also had barriers based on Supreme Court interpretation in federal law to states being able to enforce that.

00:02:45.000 So we fixed that in the SAVE Act, which I authored in the House, Mike Lee in the Senate.

00:02:51.000 I worked closely with the Speaker and others to get this done.

00:02:54.000 But we also went a step further.

00:02:55.000 We will require in federal elections, that in federal elections only, to respect federalism, but in federal elections, that states would check for

00:03:04.000 citizenship and for providing documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote.

00:03:09.000 We put in all sorts of safeguards to make sure nobody would be disenfranchised, trying

00:03:13.000 to balance the interests of enforcement, but also not being a burden for someone who shows

00:03:20.000 up and wants to vote.

00:03:21.000 So we allow for different ways to accomplish the goal.

00:03:24.000 But it's important to do it.

00:03:26.000 It's an 81% to 87% issue.

00:03:29.000 It passed yesterday.

00:03:30.000 Five Democrats voted for it.

00:03:32.000 That's the good news.

00:03:33.000 198 Democrats voted against it, and they're going to have to answer for that in November.

00:03:38.000 198 Democrats, by the way, including Ruben Gallego in Arizona, who is now trailing Carrie Lake in the latest poll.

00:03:46.000 I hope everyone's aware of that.

00:03:47.000 That's a separate issue, but Carrie Lake has come back. 0.99

00:03:51.000 She was like down 15 points. 0.85

00:03:52.000 She is now within the margin of error.

00:03:55.000 Congressman Roy, Elon Musk, the world's richest man, came out and said, failure to vote for this bill would be akin to treason.

00:04:04.000 That's a heavy word.

00:04:06.000 What is your reaction to that?

00:04:07.000 Well, I think Elon's been a great voice for what we need to do to preserve and protect our republic, and he gets it, frankly, more than a lot of Americans.

00:04:14.000 Frankly, I find that a lot of Eastern Europeans, a lot of people that understand why it's important for us to save and preserve a strong, sovereign, free country, they get it.

00:04:25.000 And he's not wrong That it is, I think, problematic and dangerous.

00:04:31.000 Not sure if I'd say treasonous, but you know, you could argue it.

00:04:34.000 It's certainly anti-American and against the rule of law to say that we should be having non-citizens vote in elections.

00:04:41.000 Now Democrats say, well, that's nonsense.

00:04:43.000 That's not what is happening.

00:04:44.000 That's not true.

00:04:46.000 We've got Oakland, San Francisco, New York, Washington, D.C., other Democrat-led jurisdictions that are purposely trying to register non-citizens to vote in state and local elections, and they say, don't worry, they won't vote in federal elections.

00:04:59.000 But we have evidence that across the country, people have been, and we've been registering people through Medicaid rolls, the DMV, and so now we're pushing back on that.

00:05:08.000 That's why this bill is so critically important.

00:05:09.000 So Elon is right that it is certainly un-American. 0.99

00:05:13.000 And you cannot say that you're for the rule of law or for sovereignty or for saving American elections and make sure they're secure if you voted against this bill.

00:05:20.000 You can't do it.

00:05:20.000 By the way, Colin Allred voted against this bill, who is running against Ted Cruz in Texas.

00:05:25.000 Yeah, well, Ted Cruz is running a great race.

00:05:27.000 We have his back 100%.

00:05:28.000 So, Congressman Roy, help me understand this.

00:05:30.000 And I'm going to ask you to speculate.

00:05:32.000 I know this is a hard question, and you're doing hero's work.

00:05:35.000 In Texas, Joe Biden has allowed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people that are now in the interior of Texas that otherwise were not.

00:05:43.000 Now, it's important to note that while Texas is a border state, Joe Biden has been sending these guys all over the country, right?

00:05:49.000 And so, but Texas really feels the carnage more than almost any, I mean, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, but really Arizona, Texas, as far as the human smuggling, the trafficking.

00:05:59.000 Do we believe that some of these people are now being registered to vote in Texas, potentially?

00:06:05.000 Well, certainly because federal law requires that these places where you have, for example, Medicaid rolls, and they require that the documentation be there, it's certainly a problem.

00:06:16.000 I know that the state leadership in Texas is doing what they can to ensure that that's not the case.

00:06:20.000 They've been working to clean the voter rolls.

00:06:23.000 The secretaries of state over the last two or three terms have been working to do that.

00:06:27.000 We can probably do more there.

00:06:29.000 I'd let the state leadership talk about that.

00:06:31.000 But we know that it's being attempted.

00:06:34.000 Right.

00:06:34.000 And we know that the paperwork by federal bureaucrats is put in front of people when they come forward.

00:06:39.000 So the state of Texas is having to fight that.

00:06:41.000 Just like, for example, Arizona has two different systems for voting, right?

00:06:46.000 They've got one system for state and federal and one state, I'm sorry, one system for state and local and one system for federal because of the federal law problem.

00:06:54.000 That's what our bill sets out to fix and then take it a step further to ensure that we're checking for citizenship.

00:07:00.000 This should be an absolute no-brainer, and in some ways we are a victim of our own model.

00:07:06.000 Because we have federalism and every state can do elections as they see fit, and we don't want the federal government to be overly involved in our elections, but it presents several problems here.

00:07:18.000 Do you think this has a chance of passing in the U.S.

00:07:22.000 Senate?

00:07:23.000 Well, look, I mean, this will depend on the leadership.

00:07:26.000 I know Mike Lee, who, you know, authored the bill in the Senate, he's one of the key leaders on it.

00:07:30.000 And he's working to make sure that we get maybe amendments or consent requests.

00:07:35.000 You might see a Federman or you might see somebody who's willing to break and go with us.

00:07:39.000 You know, you've got Kyrsten Sinema and others.

00:07:42.000 But remember that there is a legitimate federal role here.

00:07:45.000 The elections clause specifically says Congress has a role when you're talking about the time, place, and manner of congressional elections.

00:07:52.000 Secondly, we control, uniquely, naturalization.

00:07:56.000 Frankly, the court has probably said we control it more than maybe even constitutionally we do.

00:08:01.000 The point is, Congress has a unique role there.

00:08:03.000 And I would also point out, 15th Amendment, 19th, 24th, 26th, all talk about protecting the right of citizens to vote.

00:08:12.000 The Constitution contemplates that we have the power to do this.

00:08:15.000 We act it.

00:08:15.000 It's a good bill.

00:08:16.000 The Senate should take it up. 0.91

00:08:18.000 If Schumer won't do it, Republicans should find every way they can to force consideration and move to proceed to the bill and make sure we get a vote on this before the election.

00:08:27.000 So I'm going to ask you just some palace intrigue stuff, Chip.

00:08:31.000 The top priority right now in Congress doesn't seem to be anything legislative.

00:08:34.000 It seems as if your Democrat colleagues are hustling and bustling to find if they want to still have Joe Biden as their nominee.

00:08:42.000 Just as a guess, using hallway chatter and inside baseball, if Joe Biden was up against a secret ballot with Democrats within the House, how would he do?

00:08:53.000 Oh, secret ballot?

00:08:54.000 He would do very poorly.

00:08:56.000 I think Democrats very much see and observe that he should not be the nominee, frankly, that he shouldn't be the president.

00:09:05.000 They recognize that he's not all there.

00:09:07.000 But they are, I think, split and divided about how much to call it out.

00:09:11.000 I think now you've got now 10 Democrats who have called him out.

00:09:14.000 Nancy Pelosi was pretty circumspect yesterday. 1.00

00:09:17.000 I haven't seen any of her commentary today.

00:09:18.000 I think Hakeem Jeffries just did a press conference where he said that, oh, you know, I think he was trying to defend Biden.

00:09:25.000 Like they are torn and pulled apart on this.

00:09:27.000 And look, I personally believe we have an obligation as Republicans to keep pushing on this point because the leadership around the president, they're complicit.

00:09:37.000 They're not trying to say that you can have a president by committee.

00:09:40.000 You're a scholar of our founding and our history. 0.99

00:09:42.000 That's garbage. 0.99

00:09:43.000 We rejected that. 1.00

00:09:44.000 You can't say that, oh, he's got people around him, they can decide.

00:09:47.000 No, no.

00:09:48.000 He's the commander in chief.

00:09:49.000 We have a unitary executive.

00:09:51.000 He is supposed to make those decisions.

00:09:53.000 Secondly, the people around him are complicit in lying to the American people in one of the greatest cover-ups in history. 0.96

00:09:58.000 He is not mentally competent. 0.91

00:10:00.000 Jill Biden knows it. 0.78

00:10:02.000 Kamala Harris knows it.

00:10:03.000 All the Democrats know it, including Hakeem Jeffries, including Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and all of the staff in the White House and his doctor.

00:10:11.000 We should subpoena these people.

00:10:13.000 We should force this fight.

00:10:14.000 This is something the American people need to know because it is scandalous what they've done lying to the American people.

00:10:20.000 Congressman Chip Roy, keep up the great work.

00:10:22.000 Thank you so much.

00:10:23.000 Come on soon.

00:10:23.000 I hope to see you in Milwaukee if you'll be there.

00:10:25.000 Thank you.

00:10:26.000 God bless.

00:10:29.000 Hey, this is Charlie Kirk, and I know a lot of you have been suffering under the Biden economy.

00:10:33.000 Recently, school loan payments have been reinstated, and for many, it's adding thousands to their monthly expenses.

00:10:39.000 My friends, Andrew Del Rey and Todd Avakian, they're amazing.

00:10:41.000 They really helped me through a tough, tough situation recently.

00:10:44.000 They've been excellent.

00:10:45.000 They're ethical, they're just really great people, they're followers of Jesus Christ, and our worldviews are the same.

00:10:52.000 I love them.

00:10:52.000 And so please go to andrewandtodd.com.

00:10:54.000 Interest rates are coming down, and they may be able to lower your overall payment.

00:10:57.000 In fact, one of our team members said, Charlie, is it time for me to own a home?

00:11:00.000 I sat down, I went through the numbers, I said, get in the owner game.

00:11:02.000 Honestly, enough renting.

00:11:03.000 You are burning your money renting.

00:11:05.000 It might be a little bit more to own, but you're building equity.

00:11:07.000 That's money you'll have for the rest of your life.

00:11:10.000 Perhaps a reverse mortgage is a perfect solution.

00:11:12.000 It's about expertise.

00:11:13.000 You could trust in times like this.

00:11:14.000 I can't tell you how helpful they've been for me personally.

00:11:16.000 They've just been excellent.

00:11:17.000 Andrew and Todd, I'm honored to call them friends.

00:11:19.000 We hang out when I go to Orange County together.

00:11:21.000 They're really great.

00:11:22.000 So say, Charlie sent me!

00:11:24.000 888-888-1172.

00:11:25.000 That's 888-888-1172.

00:11:27.000 They helped me through a mortgage situation recently that was super complex and moving pieces, and it was really, really tough.

00:11:33.000 And other banks, by the way, wanted nothing to do with it, and they crushed it for me.

00:11:36.000 10 out of 10.

00:11:37.000 AndrewandTodd.com.

00:11:38.000 So check it out right now.

00:11:39.000 AndrewandTodd.com.

00:11:43.000 Joining us now is Senator Mike Lee, the Senate sponsor and advocate of the SAVE Act.

00:11:48.000 Senator, welcome to the program.

00:11:50.000 What do you think are the chances of the SAVE Act passing in the U.S.

00:11:53.000 Senate?

00:11:54.000 Look, it's a long shot.

00:11:54.000 This is a body that's controlled by the Democrats.

00:11:57.000 Nonetheless, we've got to push ahead.

00:11:59.000 We can't say that because Democrats are in control of the Senate, we don't have to do everything possible, everything within our power to get this thing passed.

00:12:08.000 Because the fate of the Republic is on the line.

00:12:09.000 The significance of the vote is on the line.

00:12:13.000 You can't proceed to this election with Joe Biden just having let in an additional 10 million illegal aliens just since he's been president and pretend that nothing has changed.

00:12:25.000 And you can't leave the SAVE Act unpassed without creating the inevitability that a whole lot of non-citizens are going to be voting.

00:12:34.000 So I'm going to do everything I can.

00:12:35.000 I'm going to go to the Senate floor in a little while.

00:12:37.000 I'm going to call up the SAVE Act.

00:12:38.000 I'm going to ask that we proceed to it and pass it immediately.

00:12:42.000 We'll see how the Democrats respond.

00:12:45.000 If they shut me down today, I'll try it again very, very soon

00:12:50.000 and keep trying it as long as it takes.

00:12:54.000 And when the time comes, we might need to look at some creative options,

00:12:58.000 like attaching this to other pieces of legislation that must pass.

00:13:02.000 And if we can get enough Republicans to hold the line on that,

00:13:05.000 we might be able to stick them with it.

00:13:06.000 You know, it's interesting that one in 35 people in this country

00:13:11.000 were not here four years ago.

00:13:13.000 And this is a major influx into our country and Democrats seem largely either okay with it or not interested in fixing it.

00:13:22.000 What are exactly in the details of the SAVE Act?

00:13:25.000 Educate our audience so we know exactly what is in it.

00:13:28.000 Okay, so bottom line, it requires proof of citizenship when you register to vote.

00:13:34.000 If you're going to be eligible to vote in a federal election.

00:13:38.000 Under current law, you can register to vote simply by applying for a driver's license.

00:13:44.000 Now, Charlie, keep in mind, of the 30 million non-citizens in this country, literally every state issues driver's licenses to non-citizens.

00:13:56.000 And under the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, by filling out a little federal form that goes along with the driver's license

00:14:03.000 application.

00:14:04.000 All you have to do is check a box and sign your name. No documentation required. It's

00:14:09.000 on the honor system. You can register to vote, including in federal elections.

00:14:13.000 Now, a few years ago, the Supreme Court of the United States, and bad ruling in my view,

00:14:18.000 with the great dissent by my former boss, Justice Alito, the rest of the Supreme Court concluded

00:14:24.000 that the National Voter Registration Act actually prohibits the states from asking for proof of

00:14:29.000 citizenship when you fill those out.

00:14:32.000 So anyway, look, the SAVE Act closes that loophole by requiring proof of citizenship when you register to vote in a federal election.

00:14:39.000 It also provides things like penalties.

00:14:42.000 Penalties for what happens, criminal penalties, if you register an illegal alien to vote. 0.71

00:14:50.000 Now, the Democrats are opposing this, and I submit to you, Charlie, there is one and only one reason you could provide that would make logical sense as to why you would oppose this.

00:15:03.000 And the reason would be if you just want to make sure that non-citizens vote, perhaps because you want to influence the outcome of the election.

00:15:12.000 That's what we're dealing with here and that's why I'm so glad the House passed the SAVE Act yesterday and why I'm going to do everything I possibly can to get it passed in the Senate.

00:15:20.000 Who could possibly be against this?

00:15:23.000 Unless you have ulterior motives that are nakedly political, and they obviously are, what do you say to their argument?

00:15:31.000 This is already on the books.

00:15:33.000 It's already illegal for illegals to vote.

00:15:37.000 This is an unnecessary duplication.

00:15:40.000 By that logic, Charlie, it would make no sense to have laws on the books requiring ID to prove your age eligibility when you buy beer, liquor, or cigarettes.

00:15:51.000 That's exactly right.

00:15:52.000 Look, it's already illegal to sell beer or cigarettes to children.

00:15:59.000 So why on earth would we need something like that provided?

00:16:02.000 That's where the argument goes.

00:16:03.000 In fact, to choose an argument more near and dear even than that to progressive Democrats,

00:16:10.000 Let's look at something like, say, I don't know, our laws governing background checks for the purchase of firearms.

00:16:17.000 It's already against the law under 18 U.S.C.

00:16:21.000 922g for a convicted felon to purchase or possess a firearm.

00:16:27.000 So why would we need a background check?

00:16:30.000 Their own logic collapses under its own weight.

00:16:33.000 Every one of the arguments that they throw out there, and that's the most substantive one they've used, I want to play a piece of tape here.

00:16:47.000 This is cut 112.

00:16:51.000 This is Representative Jennifer McClellan, a Democrat from Virginia, says requiring that only U.S.

00:16:58.000 citizens vote is the new version of Jim Crow.

00:17:01.000 These people are so unoriginal.

00:17:02.000 They're so shallow.

00:17:03.000 And honestly, this is so destructive.

00:17:05.000 Play cut 112.

00:17:07.000 This bill is essentially a poll tax because I am not aware of a single proof of citizenship document that does not cost an individual money to get it unless we are requiring every state to provide one for free and then it's on unfunded mandate.

00:17:23.000 This is the 2024 version of the Jim Crow poll tax and we should vote against it.

00:17:29.000 I mean, these people are so unoriginal.

00:17:32.000 I could write their talking points for them regardless.

00:17:35.000 I mean, we could have a bill that says, you know, happy 4th of July and they'll say it's Jim Crow 2.0.

00:17:41.000 Exactly.

00:17:42.000 Senator, what is your reaction?

00:17:43.000 Can I respond to her point?

00:17:44.000 Yeah, please.

00:17:45.000 Okay, so two points.

00:17:47.000 Number one, this is rich coming from the party of Jim Crow. 0.82

00:17:51.000 The party that literally put those things on the books.

00:17:55.000 They're now pushing back on us.

00:17:57.000 With that, this makes absolutely no sense.

00:18:00.000 And one of the reasons it makes no sense is that number two, under this bill, there's no finite list of ways that you can prove your citizenship.

00:18:12.000 Now, when you fill out an I-9, when any American starts new employment, they have to fill out an I-9.

00:18:21.000 And you've got only a couple of options.

00:18:23.000 You've got to provide a U.S. 0.96

00:18:24.000 passport, some combination of a U.S.

00:18:27.000 passport and or a U.S.

00:18:29.000 issued birth certificate.

00:18:30.000 Now, understanding that not every American may have it.

00:18:34.000 There may be some Americans who, for whatever reason, don't have, never had, or lost irretrievably a birth certificate or some other verifying documentation.

00:18:47.000 There's enough flexibility built into the law.

00:18:50.000 We made it so that somebody lacking those documents can still provide other means by which they can prove it.

00:18:57.000 People who can vouch for when and where they were born, there are other means by which you can prove it.

00:19:01.000 It doesn't cost the voter anything.

00:19:05.000 This is not a poll tax.

00:19:06.000 That is an absolute, flat-out lie.

00:19:09.000 And it's the kind of lie you would expect to see coming from the party of Jim Crow.

00:19:14.000 It's so harmful to political discourse and dialogue where everything harkens back to this.

00:19:21.000 Representative Summer Lee says that requiring only American citizens vote is a xenophobic attack.

00:19:30.000 It is under attack right now, right here, with this very bill.

00:19:35.000 Republicans want to throw up barriers because when people vote, they lose.

00:19:39.000 Let me be clear, they don't want you to vote.

00:19:42.000 They don't want to hear black voices, brown voices, LGBTQIA voices, young voices. 1.00

00:19:47.000 Our fundamental access to our democracy is being politicized.

00:19:51.000 And this xenophobic attack that we're debating today will make it harder for Americans to vote.

00:19:56.000 My Republican colleagues will claim that requiring IDs is a small ask, but nearly 30 million people lack a valid driver's license, and about 15 to 18 million adults don't have access to documents proving their birth or citizenship.

00:20:09.000 Americans don't need more obstacles.

00:20:12.000 It's already hard enough.

00:20:15.000 Hold on, first of all, it's not hard to vote.

00:20:17.000 Secondly, in order to get government benefits, you need to prove that you have an ID.

00:20:20.000 In order to board an airplane, you know, purchase liquor, in order to rent a video, you need to show your identification.

00:20:26.000 Senator, your reaction to that?

00:20:28.000 Look, that was one of the more disturbing clips that I've seen.

00:20:32.000 I've seen some doozies.

00:20:33.000 I've seen some absolutely absurd responses, including and especially President Biden's response that came out of the White House on Monday about this.

00:20:41.000 That one that you just showed, From a congresswoman representing Pennsylvania's 12th district, has to take the cake.

00:20:51.000 This is the absolute worst that I've seen.

00:20:53.000 This is utterly illogical.

00:20:55.000 Now, to suggest that, first of all, that we somehow can't limit the franchise, the voting franchise, to citizens, which is, I think, where her argument is going, it's what she's saying, to suggest that you can't limit it that way, It sort of rejects not only existing federal law, which says that non-citizens can't vote, but it also rejects the basic premise of what it means to be a country.

00:21:26.000 This is absolute lawlessness.

00:21:29.000 And it's also race-baiting and fear-mongering.

00:21:33.000 But more than anything else, Charlie, it reflects something else, an absolute form of terror that exists today within the Democratic Party.

00:21:42.000 The party of Jim Crow is finally suffering the consequences of what the Democratic Party perceives as its own successes, but are experienced by all Americans as failures.

00:21:56.000 Black Americans are moving to the Republican Party in record numbers.

00:22:01.000 The Democrats are scared to death of this.

00:22:04.000 And so it's sad to me that they're resorting to this kind of of condescending fear mongering, it's going to backfire.

00:22:11.000 It's going to backfire badly.

00:22:12.000 So I have one piece of advice for the Democrats.

00:22:15.000 There's still time to overcome this.

00:22:18.000 All you have to do is pass the SAVE Act. 0.97

00:22:20.000 If you don't, this is going to harm you, especially if you keep throwing out crap like that. 0.97

00:22:25.000 Absolutely. 0.93

00:22:25.000 Senator, God bless you for your heroic work. 0.93

00:22:28.000 I hope to see you in Milwaukee next week.

00:22:29.000 I don't know if you'll be there or not, but hope to see you there.

00:22:31.000 I will.

00:22:32.000 Great.

00:22:32.000 We'll have you on the program.

00:22:33.000 Let's connect there.

00:22:34.000 Senator, you are doing awesome work.

00:22:35.000 He is one of the good guys in the Senate.

00:22:37.000 He is a man of high integrity.

00:22:39.000 I have such respect for Senator Lee.

00:22:41.000 Thank you so much.

00:22:42.000 Thanks, Charlie.

00:22:45.000 Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here.

00:22:46.000 America is the first nation in history founded on the idea of God-given natural rights.

00:22:51.000 The first country dedicated to the principles of liberty and limited government.

00:22:54.000 That's why my friends at Hillsdale College want you to join them in continuing to celebrate America's founding on July 4th.

00:23:01.000 So they created a special July 4th video that I think will inspire you.

00:23:05.000 Go to charlie4hillsdale.com to see Hillsdale's video for free.

00:23:09.000 The video portrays Thomas Jefferson reflecting on the Declaration of Independence in one of his final letters written prior to his death on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration.

00:23:18.000 It'll help remind us and remind our children and our fellow citizens about the blessings of liberty and the need to preserve them.

00:23:24.000 Again, go to charlieforhillsdale.com to view this inspiring video and in appreciation you'll receive a free commemorative copy of the Declaration from my friends at Hillsdale to keep or to pass on to a young person that you know, but this is a limited time offer so please do not delay.

00:23:39.000 Go to CharlieForHillsdale.com as we forever and always celebrate Independence Day.

00:23:44.000 That is CharlieForHillsdale.com.

00:23:48.000 Chicago is going to be the home of the Democrat Convention.

00:23:53.000 And it very well might be an open convention.

00:23:57.000 Now it will be fascinating to see.

00:24:00.000 Mark my words, don't let me forget.

00:24:04.000 If murders go down temporarily while the Democrat convention is underway.

00:24:12.000 This is not a new phenomenon.

00:24:15.000 When Xi Jinping visited San Francisco, they cleaned up the streets of San Francisco.

00:24:19.000 When the Major League Baseball All-Star Game came to Seattle, all the homeless vanished and disappeared.

00:24:25.000 Afterwards, they let everybody else go onto the streets.

00:24:28.000 In Detroit, when Kamala Harris and Joe Biden visit, all of a sudden they clean up the streets.

00:24:31.000 It is an act of the will.

00:24:33.000 If you want to create safe streets, you can.

00:24:38.000 Last weekend, in Chicago, there were over 100 people that were shot.

00:24:45.000 Media couldn't care less, of course.

00:24:49.000 100 people shot in Chicago last weekend, including 18 people died.

00:24:55.000 Now, Mayor Brandon Johnson is the mayor of Chicago.

00:24:58.000 He's a Marxist.

00:24:58.000 He's a communist.

00:25:00.000 It pains me in saying this.

00:25:01.000 I love Chicago.

00:25:01.000 I have a heart for Chicago.

00:25:03.000 I want to see Chicago return to greatness and to prominence.

00:25:08.000 Now, who would Brandon Johnson blame?

00:25:13.000 Would he blame Donald Trump for all the killings?

00:25:17.000 Would he blame systemic racism?

00:25:19.000 He blames Richard Nixon?

00:25:23.000 You see, this is the view of a Marxist.

00:25:29.000 It is not the individual who is to blame for taking out a handgun and opening fire on innocent civilians.

00:25:36.000 No, it is the system's fault.

00:25:39.000 It is the culture's fault.

00:25:41.000 Play cut 58.

00:25:43.000 So we cut off the pipeline of boys between the ages of 10 and 19 being either victims or the perpetrators.

00:25:52.000 So, yeah, it is personal.

00:25:54.000 Black death has been unfortunately accepted in this country for a very long time. 0.97

00:26:05.000 Bye! 0.81

00:26:07.000 We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes, and people mocked President Johnson.

00:26:13.000 And we ended up with Richard Nixon.

00:26:18.000 I'm going to work hard every day to transform this city.

00:26:20.000 That's what it takes to build a better, stronger, safer Chicago.

00:26:23.000 I need everybody to step up.

00:26:24.000 Richard Nixon is to blame.

00:26:28.000 Richard Nixon died 30 years ago.

00:26:31.000 But of course, Brandon Johnson would not take responsibility that Democrats have had monopolistic control over Chicago.

00:26:41.000 And this is a divide between leftists and conservatives.

00:26:45.000 When we hear that a bunch of criminals and thugs take out their firearms and start opening fire indiscriminately into crowds, shooting 100 people and killing 18 people, we blame them.

00:26:59.000 We don't blame society.

00:27:00.000 We don't blame systemic racism.

00:27:03.000 And we certainly don't blame Richard Nixon, who was president 52 years ago.

00:27:08.000 But this is the Democrat Party, that you'll never have to take responsibility for your own choices.

00:27:13.000 That's how you get student loan debt relief.

00:27:15.000 You don't have to take responsibility for your choices.

00:27:17.000 It's somebody else's fault that you wanted the debt.

00:27:18.000 It's somebody else's fault that you studied Eastern Asian poetry.

00:27:24.000 It creates a cult of victims, and that is the base of the Democrat Party.

00:27:29.000 Brandon Johnson could say, knock it off, we're going to have more police, more people on the streets, we're going to have anti-crime units, but Brandon Johnson refuses to do that because his concern is not the safety of Chicago.

00:27:42.000 They're going to keep on breaking records, by the way, all summer.

00:27:45.000 100 people shot, they're going to break those records.

00:27:48.000 Chicago is an all-out war zone in these neighborhoods.

00:27:51.000 A war zone.

00:27:54.000 And he says, I'm all invested in creating a safer, better, cleaner Chicago.

00:27:58.000 No.

00:27:59.000 He's about pandering to the worst elements of the Democrat Party.

00:28:05.000 So it'll be fascinating to see when the Democrats come rolling into Chicago, all of a sudden the Chicago crime rates are going to go down.

00:28:16.000 If the Chicago crime rates go down, it shows that they can fix this.

00:28:20.000 But they're beholden to ideology, so they would rather have the downfall and the decay and the collapse of a once great American city, even though they have the power, the ability, and the knowledge and the capacity to solve it.

00:28:35.000 But for that one week, when Democrats come prancing into Chicago in August, you'll be able to eat off the streets.

00:28:41.000 You'll be able to walk mag-mile again.

00:28:43.000 The murder rate will likely go down.

00:28:45.000 It'll be clean.

00:28:46.000 And the media will say, wow, Chicago really is great.

00:28:49.000 And as soon as they leave, the criminals will retake the streets as rulers in a once great city.

00:28:57.000 No more.

00:28:59.000 Email us freedom at charliekirk.com.

00:29:01.000 This is a live ball.

00:29:03.000 This is happening in real time.

00:29:04.000 In the last couple of hours, there is now a new betting favorite of who is the Democrat nominee.

00:29:10.000 Now, these betting markets, you understand, this is not talk, this is real money in the game.

00:29:16.000 And if you know anything about politics, you're not supposed to do this, but I have known people that have done this and I don't support it, but a lot of insiders will trade on insider information and make a lot of money.

00:29:29.000 Staffers, consultants, donors, they will trade on their inside information.

00:29:34.000 So there is a new frontrunner now in this fluid Democrat operation.

00:29:40.000 Kamala Harris is now the frontrunner.

00:29:44.000 For the Democrat nomination by 8 points.

00:29:48.000 It's not even close.

00:29:49.000 The separation speed is incredible.

00:29:51.000 Now this is a fluid situation.

00:29:53.000 As one Democrat operative has put it, Joe Biden does not need to just do well at the press conference, at the NATO press conference.

00:30:01.000 He needs to do well every single day to appease these concerns.

00:30:05.000 And this fluid situation shows no signs of weakening or slowing down.

00:30:10.000 Now let's just play this out.

00:30:12.000 If they can convince Joe Biden from backing off, which is highly unlikely, because Joe Biden is a very, very, let's just say, he is a strong-willed individual.

00:30:25.000 And by the way, you know who's going to be doing some insider training?

00:30:28.000 Nancy Pelosi.

00:30:29.000 Maybe that's why Kamala Harris is going up in the betting markets. 1.00

00:30:33.000 Maybe Nancy Pelosi and her staff went and placed a big bet.

00:30:37.000 She knows something about that.

00:30:40.000 She's the whale in the room. 1.00

00:30:42.000 New York Times, front page of the New York Times, the embattled Biden campaign tests Kamala Harris' strength versus Trump. 0.99

00:30:49.000 The campaign is quietly carrying out a head-to-head survey of voters between the Vice President and Donald Trump in a sign of uncertainty even atop the Democrat Party.

00:30:57.000 Now let me say this, whatever number that you show Kamala Harris v. Donald Trump, that will be her ceiling.

00:31:04.000 This is before we have properly introduced the country to the horror.

00:31:08.000 That is Kamala Harris.

00:31:10.000 Remember she was the border czar.

00:31:11.000 She cackles her way. 1.00

00:31:12.000 She likes Venn diagrams.

00:31:14.000 She's not charismatic.

00:31:15.000 She's not likable. 0.98

00:31:16.000 She's not warm.

00:31:18.000 She's very intense.

00:31:19.000 She comes across as, yeah, a prosecutor.

00:31:23.000 She comes across as somebody who is not a political friend or friendly in the political way.

00:31:35.000 The element here that I think is very important to isolate is how even Democrats don't know how this is going to end up.

00:31:44.000 Democrats are uncertain at the end result of their own nomination process in mid-July.

00:31:52.000 Cut 111, Joe Scarborough, back from vacation.

00:31:55.000 Hey, we might run into Joe Scarborough in Milwaukee next week.

00:31:57.000 I wonder if they'll have me on the show.

00:31:59.000 Very unlikely.

00:32:01.000 I'm a big fan.

00:32:03.000 If I run into Joe Scarborough, I'll say, I'm a big fan.

00:32:05.000 I'd love to come on the show.

00:32:08.000 I mean, I'd love to go on CNN, MSNBC.

00:32:10.000 It'd be fun.

00:32:12.000 Play Cut 111.

00:32:14.000 This result is not doubtful, Lincoln said.

00:32:16.000 We shall not fail if we stand firm.

00:32:19.000 We shall not fail if we stand together.

00:32:26.000 Because so said Lincoln then, and so says a watchful and very worried nation now.

00:32:35.000 Democrats have to unite against the immediate threat before America's 240-year constitutional republic is no more.

00:32:46.000 Cut 107.

00:32:48.000 This is 60 Minutes telling Kamala Harris to her face, nobody likes you, including donors. 1.00

00:32:53.000 Play Cut 107.

00:32:54.000 We were talking to some Democratic donors, and they have told us that should something befall President Biden and he is not able to run, that there would be a free-for-all for who would run as president.

00:33:12.000 You are in the spot that that would be unnatural for you to step up, but we're hearing from donors that they would not naturally fall into line.

00:33:21.000 Why is that?

00:33:23.000 Well, first of all, I'm not going to engage in that hypothetical because Joe Biden is very much alive and running for re-election.

00:33:30.000 But you do know, I mean, that is a concern and a legitimate concern, I would say.

00:33:35.000 I hear from a lot of different people, a lot of different things.

00:33:39.000 But let me just tell you, I'm focused on the job.

00:33:41.000 I truly am.

00:33:43.000 Our democracy is on the line, Bill.

00:33:46.000 And I frankly, in my head, do not have time for parlor games when we have a president who is running for re-election.

00:33:54.000 When in crisis, say, our democracy's at stake.

00:33:57.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.

00:33:58.000 Email us, as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.

00:34:01.000 Thanks so much for listening, and God bless.
