00:00:00.000 Hey everybody, thank Charlie Kirk Show.
00:00:01.000 Why we need Fox News and why this Dominion lawsuit is total nonsense.
00:00:05.000 As always, you can email us, freedom at charliekirk.com and get involved with turningpointusa at tpusa.com.
00:00:12.000 That is tpusa.com.
00:00:15.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:00:16.000 Here we go.
00:00:17.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:19.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campuses.
00:00:21.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:00:24.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:00:28.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:00:28.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:00:30.000 His spirit, his love of this country.
00:00:31.000 He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:00:38.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:00:47.000 That's why we are here.
00:00:50.000 Brought to you by the Loan Experts I Trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandTodd.com.
00:00:59.000 Yesterday, Fox News decided to settle with Dominion Voting Systems for a staggering $787 million.
00:01:11.000 Now, the facts surrounding this case are interesting.
00:01:14.000 And I am going to stand by my earlier statement that we need all forms of conservative media.
00:01:20.000 And it's a good thing that in 100 million homes, if you count DirecTV and you count Comcast and you count Spectrum, that there is a conservative option.
00:01:29.000 Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingram, Jesse Waters, they do a fabulous job.
00:01:33.000 And of course, you could disagree with plenty of Fox, what Fox does.
00:01:36.000 Maria Bartaromo, fabulous.
00:01:38.000 I certainly, and Turning Point USA have certainly benefited from being able to go on Fox throughout the years.
00:01:44.000 Fox made a settlement because they were at risk of maybe paying twice as much of that at trial.
00:01:50.000 So what was that dispute?
00:01:52.000 Well, the dispute was about Dominion voting machines.
00:01:57.000 This was all during that incredibly confusing period of time from Election Day 2020 all the way to Inauguration Day 2021.
00:02:08.000 I have to say that was one of the strangest couple of months I have ever lived through in politics in my 11 years of doing this.
00:02:15.000 It was weird for so many reasons.
00:02:17.000 Our team is agreeing in our chat.
00:02:19.000 Just the stories, what was going viral.
00:02:23.000 We streamed nonstop.
00:02:25.000 We would do a show and then we would stream in the evening.
00:02:28.000 And we were always focused on our program, on the actual, a lot of the stuff that ended up coming really true, which was ballot custody, signature verification.
00:02:41.000 We came up with the whole word ballot trafficking and we were correct.
00:02:46.000 We had that big whiteboard.
00:02:48.000 And we came up, we resurrected the term granny farming.
00:02:52.000 We talked about Dane County, Wisconsin.
00:02:54.000 Those were some fun days.
00:02:55.000 It was exhausting.
00:02:56.000 And then remember, there was the Georgia runoff in December of 2020.
00:03:02.000 Actually, I'm sorry.
00:03:02.000 No, it was January.
00:03:03.000 It was actually January 5th, 2021.
00:03:05.000 But we were campaigning in December of 2020.
00:03:10.000 And you could go back and you could look at some of our interviews and our live streams.
00:03:14.000 We had a lot of viewers there.
00:03:17.000 But there was this theory that Dominion voting machines was manipulating votes and that any media company that was platforming that idea even in the slightest was engaging in outright disinformation.
00:03:39.000 Now, Fox settling, and again, I'm not a legal expert.
00:03:43.000 I don't quite understand how on earth they could have lost in a meaningful trial, right?
00:03:48.000 I'm not meaningful, but like an actual serious trial, because I don't understand how this is protected by speech.
00:03:52.000 But however, it seems as if the Dominion case was largely supported by the private text messages of Fox News producers and Fox News hosts that were saying they knew that what they were putting on television was false, but they were doing it simply for money.
00:04:13.000 Now, that doesn't make any sense to me personally because you could have guests on that you disagree with all the time to ask critical questions and ask challenging questions.
00:04:24.000 I mean, for example, we had Senator Kramer on our program, who I think's a sweet person, but I don't agree with what he was saying.
00:04:32.000 And so are you not allowed to have guests that you disagree with or you think that they're wrong on certain things?
00:04:38.000 But this particular judge had already ruled against Fox News.
00:04:41.000 It was going to be a brutal public trial involving their on-air talent and 92-year-old Rupert Murdoch.
00:04:48.000 And rumors around jury selection say it did not go well.
00:04:52.000 There's another lawsuit coming up around SmartMatic.
00:04:57.000 And none of this is justice.
00:05:00.000 Now, some of you in the audience are not fans of Fox News.
00:05:05.000 Okay, I think the country needs Fox News.
00:05:10.000 I think the country needs Real America's voice.
00:05:12.000 I mean, the country needs all these platforms right now, especially talent like Jesse Waters, Laura Ingram, and Tucker Carlson.
00:05:19.000 But let's put that aside.
00:05:20.000 If you accept Dominion's claim that Fox defamed them, and it's hardly a slam dunk, then the amount they sued for was 44 times their annual revenue.
00:05:32.000 This sets a very, very dangerous precedent for conservative and for heterodox media.
00:05:39.000 This is not whether or not you agree with Fox News or disagree with them.
00:05:43.000 It doesn't matter how much you hate Fox News or love Fox News.
00:05:46.000 The reason this case goes as far as it did and reached the ludicrous damage amounts is because of the aggressive lawyers and the accommodating court.
00:05:56.000 But also, remember, judges read newspapers too.
00:06:01.000 The media was cheerleading for this nonstop.
00:06:06.000 Every move of this trial was covered by the New York Times, was covered by the Washington Post.
00:06:13.000 And so there was a media cover job.
00:06:16.000 You see, this is not about Fox News.
00:06:19.000 This is about should we change our legal standards just to try to get Fox and get the conservative media company.
00:06:28.000 This is not about justice.
00:06:29.000 This is about vengeance.
00:06:31.000 The clear theme that arises from the Dominion settlement, from the Douglas Mackey case, from the January 6th witch hunts, from the NRA being an illegal quagmire, from James O'Keefe having his apartment raided, is that the left is fanatical about abusing the legal system to target, hobble, fine, ruin, and imprison anyone they blame for putting Trump in power.
00:06:56.000 And that includes Fox News.
00:06:58.000 They tried to do that to the NRA, and they did that successfully, largely.
00:07:02.000 James O'Keefe, Steve Bannon.
00:07:04.000 This is another chapter in how the left tries to take down institutions they do not like.
00:07:10.000 And whether you love Fox or you hate Fox, here's a fact.
00:07:13.000 Fox News is without a doubt the most powerful center-right media company.
00:07:20.000 It remains to be, and that it played a very big role in getting Donald Trump elected in 2016.
00:07:26.000 And for that, the left will never forgive them.
00:07:30.000 Let's play some tape here.
00:07:31.000 Play Cut 70, the Dominion attorney thanks the regime media for helping defeat Fox News, PlayCut 70.
00:07:40.000 One last thank you, which is really to all of you for being with us on this journey.
00:07:46.000 We appreciate what you've done to help us and to help expose what we were able to discover over the course of this process.
00:07:55.000 And so thank you, and we'll see you at the next one.
00:07:58.000 This sets a very dangerous precedent of kind of a catch and kill type scenario.
00:08:04.000 I do not understand, obviously, the specifics of the law.
00:08:09.000 But can somebody tell me why this was even a case?
00:08:13.000 Despite the fact that you might have private text messages of people thinking they're not true to ask questions and have guests on your program, is that not constitutionally protected speech?
00:08:23.000 That this now hits the threshold of a $787 million settlement.
00:08:30.000 This is bad across the board.
00:08:32.000 This is bad for future conservative media, for future opposition, challenging and questions.
00:08:39.000 And by the way, this only further empowers the plaintiff's lawyers.
00:08:42.000 They're talking about going after show after show after show and conservative personality and anyone that spread COVID disinformation.
00:08:50.000 And Fox was in a tough spot.
00:08:51.000 Fox was in a no-win scenario because you could go into a trial and you could get hit with a settlement judgment for a billion dollars like Alex Jones was.
00:09:01.000 The goal is not justice.
00:09:03.000 The goal is wiping the enemy off the face of the earth.
00:09:09.000 Fox could have had to pay even more money and go through a very costly, long trial.
00:09:18.000 The original amount they asked for was $1.3 billion.
00:09:21.000 And then the question is, when can we sue Adam Schiff and MSNBC for the Russian collusion dossier lies?
00:09:27.000 A judge would probably throw it out, honestly.
00:09:29.000 And that's where we're at.
00:09:30.000 The legal system is eager to try to get anything conservative and protect anything left-wing and liberal.
00:09:40.000 Are you concerned about the quality of your drinking water?
00:09:42.000 With all the disastrous flooding happening around the country, water sources are starting to become contaminated.

00:10:47.000 So we have to understand that this is not by some, let's just say, accident.
00:10:54.000 This isn't a left-wing advanced tactic.
00:10:58.000 This isn't some fly-by-night thing where they got lucky.
00:11:01.000 This isn't some mistake.
00:11:04.000 No, they're trying to take out anything that is conservative.
00:11:08.000 Anything.
00:11:09.000 And in particular, look, there are some shows that are not a threat to the regime on Fox News.
00:11:13.000 I'm not going to say any names.
00:11:14.000 But Tucker Carlson's show is absolutely a threat to the regime.
00:11:19.000 Fox and Friends is largely a threat to the regime.
00:11:23.000 The fact that there is a cable network that routinely outperforms network television bothers them.
00:11:31.000 It bothers them a lot.
00:11:33.000 And so what we're seeing here in this settlement is a precedent.
00:11:37.000 I don't understand For the life of me, how Fox could be in a bad legal situation for just having guests on that even that they think are not telling the truth that they could ask critical questions of.
00:11:53.000 There's an entire left-wing infrastructure that exists simply and solely trying to take out this program, the Charlie Kirk Show, trying to take out Real America's Voice, trying to take out Fox News.
00:12:04.000 One of the takeaways here is that this is by design.
00:12:09.000 That there is a well-funded nonprofit left-wing infrastructure that is there to try and take out any sort of dissident communication networks.
00:12:22.000 In Canada, in Australia, in Germany, in Europe, they have no such platforms like we have here.
00:12:29.000 And that's the country they want to try to create through the Restrict Act and through settlements and through lawfare like this.
00:12:36.000 Now, many of you, I'm not going to defend Fox settling or not defend Fox settling.
00:12:40.000 I don't know all the details.
00:12:41.000 Many of you are saying, oh, Charlie, they should have gone all the way to trial.
00:12:44.000 I mean, they very well could have had to pay an even bigger settlement or they could have won in trial, or it could have been a humiliating type trial.
00:12:50.000 I don't know.
00:12:51.000 The bigger point, though, is this: this is just another chapter in a long book.
00:12:57.000 This is another iteration in a pattern of well-funded left-wing nonprofits that are engaging in cultural takeover, a cultural revolution, and they are going to try to obliterate anything in the way.
00:13:12.000 And you might say, oh, Charlie, who cares?
00:13:13.000 It's just Fox.
00:13:14.000 It's not a big deal.
00:13:15.000 I don't like Fox.
00:13:16.000 They're going to come for every major network imaginable.
00:13:19.000 They're going to come for Matt Walsh.
00:13:20.000 Just yesterday, Matt Walsh got literally hacked.
00:13:24.000 Literally, they got it.
00:13:25.000 I mean, the Matt Walsh story is unbelievable.
00:13:27.000 We should build it out.
00:13:27.000 It's really something where these people, the lengths they go to.
00:13:31.000 AM Radio is under attack right now.
00:13:34.000 AM Radio is under attack in a huge way, the same way Rush Lumbaugh was under attack.
00:13:39.000 And then they're talking about social media restrictions.
00:13:42.000 They're attacking Elon Musk.
00:13:43.000 You see, when they don't get their way, the regime will do everything possible.
00:13:49.000 They took the NRA out of the game.
00:13:51.000 They take every host they don't like off the game.
00:13:55.000 They kick people off the social media.
00:13:57.000 They take Alex Jones and they've completely tried to take him off the chessboard through social media censorship, through massive lawsuits.
00:14:05.000 This is how these people operate.
00:14:07.000 They engage in all-out blitzkrieg against their opponents.
00:14:13.000 And this is not going to stop.
00:14:17.000 You see, one of the main issues that I have with how this entire story was covered is we act as if everyone was given a fair hearing in this.
00:14:29.000 They venue shop.
00:14:30.000 They find a judge that they like.
00:14:32.000 This lawsuit was about trying to kill Fox permanently.
00:14:36.000 And you better believe there were left-wing forces and left-wing nonprofits behind them, pushing it in the media every single day.
00:14:43.000 They are salivating at the idea that they could take out Fox News, take out the Wall Street Journal, take out any sort of media outlet that has widespread distribution.
00:14:56.000 Now, you might say, oh, Charlie, we don't need Fox News.
00:14:58.000 Here's my counter argument, though.
00:15:00.000 If you understand actually how cable television works, there's only a couple networks that are allowed in the central menu of cable channel selection.
00:15:12.000 For example, if you go to Direct TV or go to Comcast, they only have certain channels of certain genre.
00:15:18.000 They only have a certain amount of news channels.
00:15:20.000 So, for example, in the 60 news channels, you can see this best, by the way, when you go to a hotel room, right?
00:15:27.000 So you'll see that they have HLN, they have CNN, they have MSNBC, and they have Fox News.
00:15:32.000 That's it.
00:15:33.000 Maybe a Fox business or a CNBC.
00:15:36.000 Fox is the only one of those that is expressing any point of opinion.
00:15:40.000 You might say, oh, we don't need Fox News.
00:15:41.000 Well, then the central menu of where 100 million people go to get their news could be removed.
00:15:47.000 And they're just going to replace it with another left-wing network.
00:15:49.000 The fact that we have a conservative network that works with these cable companies is significant.
00:15:56.000 Hey, everybody, Charlie Kirk here.
00:15:58.000 Are you tired of feeling burnt out and struggling to stay productive throughout the day?
00:16:02.000 Does brain fog and short-term memory loss keep you from functioning at your best?
00:16:05.000 Well, I did too.
00:16:06.000 And then I was introduced to Strong Cell, more specifically, NADH.
00:16:10.000 If you don't believe me, check it out yourself.
00:16:12.000 What Strong Cell has done is they have a scientific breakthrough in cellular health.
00:16:15.000 They combine NADH, CoQ10, and marine collagen to boost your body's cellular function.
00:16:20.000 I personally take it every day.
00:16:22.000 I'm a big NAD believer.
00:16:23.000 People say, Charlie, how do you keep up the schedule?
00:16:25.000 How do you have mental clarity?
00:16:26.000 Go do some research on NAD.
00:16:28.000 It is a precursor to ATP, which is your body's life source.
00:16:32.000 Strong Cell combines NADH with some of the best ingredients and vitamins available.
00:16:36.000 I get approached by many supplement brands, and I tell most of them no.
00:16:39.000 Do yourself a favor and give Strong Cell a try.

00:16:55.000 Strongcell.com forward slash Charlie.
00:16:59.000 Getting a lot of emails here.
00:17:00.000 Definitely not fans.
00:17:02.000 We have some fans of Fox.
00:17:03.000 Some people don't like Fox.
00:17:04.000 Someone says, you don't need to mansplain the inner workings of cable.
00:17:10.000 You may be losing me with this one.
00:17:12.000 Yeah, okay.
00:17:12.000 Well, I'm not trying to man splain, but I don't think every person in the audience, maybe you all know how the intricacies of cable networks work, I guess.
00:17:23.000 Yeah, but look, I'll be honest, I'm a little concerned.
00:17:27.000 I'm a little concerned because many of you are emailing us with joy that Fox has to pay this here on Real America's Voice.
00:17:36.000 And be careful.
00:17:37.000 Be careful, understand.
00:17:38.000 I mean, be careful.
00:17:39.000 First of all, don't celebrate a network that sometimes is frustrating, sometimes gets stuff right.
00:17:46.000 I mean, they have Bongino, Jesse Waters, Bartaromo, Tucker, Laura.
00:17:50.000 They got some great voices there.
00:17:51.000 Pete Hegseth is amazing, right?
00:17:54.000 The way cable works is that if Fox falls, there is no replacement on the core 100 million homes.
00:18:00.000 It's just the way it works.
00:18:01.000 There's 100 million homes that the core Comcast Spectrum and Direct TV have.
00:18:08.000 They go through negotiations.
00:18:09.000 Now, those three companies, they pay their top performers per sub per subscriber.
00:18:18.000 So, for example, CNN gets a premium of nearly $8 to $10 a home.
00:18:24.000 It's true.
00:18:26.000 Fox News only gets about $3 or $4 per home, depending on the negotiation.
00:18:32.000 So Fox News gets a lot, Fox News gets far less money than CNN gets.
00:18:38.000 Now, so for example, you take DirecTV, right?
00:18:41.000 So DirecTV is probably 40 million homes, and they'll pay CNN like $6 or whatever it is.
00:18:50.000 So it's like, that's $200 million.
00:18:52.000 Okay, I want to now talk about the Elon Tucker interview because it's related to that.
00:18:58.000 It's big, you know, lots of implications here.
00:19:02.000 Let's play Cut 46.
00:19:05.000 Is Twitter going to be fair in the upcoming elections?
00:19:08.000 Play Cut 46.
00:19:10.000 Do you think Twitter will be as central to this presidential campaign as it was in the last several?
00:19:18.000 I think it will play a significant role in elections, not just domestically, but internationally.
00:19:24.000 The goal of new Twitter is to be as fair and even-handed as possible.
00:19:30.000 So not favoring any political ideology, but just Being fair to all.
00:19:40.000 This is Elon with Tucker Carlson saying that Twitter is not going to censor political speech.
00:19:47.000 Just yesterday, Elon Musk reversed a policy that we got banned from Twitter for, which is quote unquote dead naming.
00:19:55.000 So prior, you were not allowed to call Levine Richard Levine, which was his birth name.
00:20:01.000 You could get kicked off of Twitter for that, quote unquote, dead naming a person.
00:20:07.000 Now, you're able to say that.
00:20:10.000 Let's go to Cut 48.
00:20:14.000 Elon talking about Twitter being bought at half of what he bought it for, worth half of what he bought for, Cut 48.
00:20:19.000 You've had a lot of hassle since you bought it.
00:20:21.000 In retrospect, was it worth buying it?
00:20:24.000 I mean, it remains to be seen as to whether this was financially smart.
00:20:30.000 Currently, it is not.
00:20:32.000 You know, we just revalued the company at less than half of the acquisition price.
00:20:36.000 Yes.
00:20:38.000 You caught the high watermark, I noticed.
00:20:40.000 Yeah.
00:20:41.000 Yeah.
00:20:41.000 So it must be a real genius here.
00:20:44.000 My timing is amazing.
00:20:47.000 Since I've voted for at least twice as much as it should have been voted for.
00:20:51.000 The question that remains is: what is the left going to do next?
00:20:55.000 And the answer is they will accelerate.
00:20:57.000 They only know how to move forward.
00:20:59.000 They'll pick a new target.
00:21:01.000 They'll pick a new organization, a new news company.
00:21:06.000 And they will try to take them down one at a time.
00:21:10.000 You see, by definition, the left does not build.
00:21:15.000 They only take over.
00:21:17.000 And they're trying to make it seem as if that resistance to them is futile, that do not push back against their private-public partnership type regime.
00:21:27.000 As we said yesterday, Angelo Cotavilla, who wrote the book Ruling Class, wrote this beautifully.
00:21:32.000 He said, quote, its attitude is key.
00:21:34.000 The attitude of the ruling class is key to understanding how the bipartisan elite live.
00:21:40.000 Its first tenet is that we are the best and brightest, while the rest of Americans are retrograde, racist, and dysfunctional unless properly constrained.
00:21:50.000 This is very important.
00:21:52.000 Why do they hate Real America's voice and they're trying to take it out?
00:21:55.000 Why do they hate the Charlie Kirk show?
00:21:57.000 Why do they hate Steve Bannon?
00:21:59.000 Why do they hate Elon Musk?
00:22:02.000 It's because a voice is given to the people that they consider to be retrograde, racist, and dysfunctional.
00:22:11.000 You.
00:22:12.000 They hate any sort of effort or attempt to give you a voice.
00:22:18.000 That is really what at play here.
00:22:20.000 It's not about the hosts of the show as much as the host of the show speaking in a manner that you might find persuasive.
00:22:31.000 The left wants to take out anything they cannot control.
00:22:34.000 And they cannot control the muscular class in Missouri.
00:22:39.000 They cannot control Christians in Kentucky.
00:22:43.000 Driving through LA recently, in kind of West Hollywood area, it's a completely different planet.
00:22:50.000 And it's not even June.
00:22:52.000 And at every corner in certain neighborhoods of West Hollywood, you have gay flag after gay flag after gay flag.
00:22:58.000 And you wonder if they have 99% agreement in those neighborhoods on their views, why are they so concerned with then trying to force, trying to punish people that do not share their enthusiasm for these sort of views?
00:23:20.000 And that is one of the characteristics of the psychology of an American left-wing activist.
00:23:27.000 Part of the psychology of the American left is that they are not happy just living how they want to live.
00:23:34.000 They want you to live in their way.
00:23:39.000 Or at least, at the very least, they want you to voice public support for them.
00:23:46.000 It's not enough that you accept them or that you tolerate them or that you even celebrate them.
00:23:53.000 You must participate in the practices alongside of them.
00:23:58.000 Here's a piece of evidence right here.
00:23:59.000 Patty Laponi, a guest on the view, just compared Christians to the Taliban.
00:24:05.000 This is considered to be thoughtful dialogue on the view, play cut 67.
00:24:09.000 This before, and I'm going to get in trouble, but I have said this before and it's been in print.
00:24:13.000 I don't know what the difference between our Christian right and the Taliban is.
00:24:16.000 I have no idea what the difference is.
00:24:18.000 You're not the only person who said that.
00:24:21.000 I don't.
00:24:22.000 I just don't know what the difference is.
00:24:24.000 What's happening in this country right now in the name of religion is so dangerous.
00:24:28.000 Is it?
00:24:30.000 You see, the people on the view, I would love to go on the view.
00:24:34.000 I really would.
00:24:35.000 I would love to go on the view and have a chat with them.
00:24:39.000 Because I would acknowledge that some places in America, not America, someplace around the world, you can have religious extremism.
00:24:48.000 There might be pockets here and there.
00:24:50.000 But can you have secular extremism?
00:24:53.000 Can you have extremism of the non-religious?
00:24:56.000 That is a far greater threat to our way of life.
00:24:59.000 The idea that men give birth does not come from the religious.
00:25:04.000 The idea that you can chemically castrate 11-year-olds does not come from the religious.
00:25:10.000 The idea that you cannot define what a man or a woman is does not come from Christians.
00:25:16.000 The idea that a bunch of black youth pillaging downtown Chicago and that's just protests does not come from Christians.
00:25:24.000 No, that's secular extremism.
00:25:27.000 And we have this non-stop, exhausting, and at times nauseating narrative that it's always the religious extremists that are the ones that we have to look out for.
00:25:38.000 Sure, all ideologies can get to extremes, but we're not even close to that in America.
00:25:44.000 We're at the opposite.
00:25:45.000 We are now being ruled by the tyranny of secular extremism.
00:25:52.000 Question is then, what do we do about it?
00:25:55.000 Well, this Fox thing is very interesting.
00:25:57.000 And I want to just hit home this point.
00:26:00.000 Having big media is important.
00:26:03.000 Elon going on Fox is a good thing.
00:26:06.000 What is the alternative?
00:26:07.000 They go on the view.
00:26:09.000 Elon taking over Twitter is a good thing.
00:26:12.000 Certainly, based on the emails we receive, many of you say, we don't like Elon.
00:26:17.000 We don't like Fox.
00:26:18.000 We don't like any of these.
00:26:19.000 That's fine.
00:26:20.000 Just be careful trying to tear down every institution that might not see the world 100% the way you and I might see it.
00:26:29.000 The left doesn't do that.
00:26:31.000 The left considers that if you are somewhat of an ally with them, as long as it's on the big stuff, they'll leave you alone.
00:26:37.000 And they are non-stop.
00:26:38.000 They are relentless towards trying to destroy our lives.
00:26:44.000 The New York Times is really outdoing itself.
00:26:47.000 The New York Times opinion piece says how gay men saved us from monkeypox and lessons for future outbreaks.
00:26:54.000 While the outbreak ended faster than many believed it would, it was far worse than it needed to be, representing both a public health triumph and public health failure.
00:27:02.000 Both health officials and the media failed to expeditiously warn and engage the gay community in the outbreak's crucial first weeks.
00:27:09.000 There's another important lesson about the gay community that health officials and journalists need to remember going forward.
00:27:14.000 When it comes to emerging health threats, even ones that can spread sexually, gay men can handle the truth.
00:27:18.000 You can give it to them straight.
00:27:20.000 Can they handle the truth?
00:27:22.000 To give you an idea of how much misinformation there is in medicine.
00:27:26.000 This is a true story.
00:27:27.000 I haven't told this story yet.
00:27:29.000 When we had our baby and we were at the hospital, we were trying to get out as quickly as possible, but there's some issues.
00:27:36.000 We had to stay longer than I would have liked.
00:27:38.000 And one of the nurses comes in and start talking, and she was wearing a mask.
00:27:42.000 I was like, oh, why are you wearing a mask?
00:27:43.000 And she's like, well, you know, that monkeypox is going around.
00:27:47.000 You're a nurse.
00:27:48.000 Are you kidding?
00:27:50.000 She's like, oh, no, no, it's a real thing.
00:27:51.000 You know, a lot of kids are getting monkeypox.
00:27:54.000 I said, oh, a lot of kids are getting monkeypox.
00:27:56.000 How do you think they get it?
00:27:57.000 And she said, well, you know, orally through transmission.
00:27:59.000 I said, you're a nurse.
00:28:02.000 You can't be going around saying stuff like that.
00:28:04.000 She says, I know what I'm talking about and you don't.
00:28:07.000 I said, okay, you might be worried about getting the cold or a flu or COVID.
00:28:10.000 I don't know if the mask is going to help you, but maybe it will.
00:28:13.000 But you got a mask in the wrong part of your body if you're trying to prevent monkeypox transmission.
00:28:19.000 And we left it at that.
00:28:20.000 It's just amazing how much misinformation there is out there.
00:28:24.000 This is a person who's tasked with administering the truth to patients.
00:28:27.000 It's just unbelievable.
00:28:29.000 Please do your research, everybody, before you take advice from certain.
00:28:32.000 There's some fabulous doctors and there's some awful doctors.
00:28:35.000 There's fabulous people.
00:28:37.000 There's awful people.
00:28:38.000 Now, remember, they didn't like the name monkeypox because they said it was racist.
00:28:42.000 Who's the racists, actually, if you guys think that the term monkey pox has something to do with anything other than the fact that it came from an animal?
00:28:53.000 Maybe you guys are thinking about things that we aren't.
00:28:55.000 This opinion piece is absolutely unbelievable.
00:28:58.000 Unfortunately, stigma and discrimination found the community anyway.
00:29:02.000 Gay men with monkeypox were turned away from urgent care clinics and emergency rooms.
00:29:07.000 And the gay community listened.
00:29:09.000 Oh, did they listen to the actual way you could make sure you don't get monkeypox?
00:29:13.000 Which is very simple, like stop having gratuitous gay sex.
00:29:16.000 Like, no.
00:29:17.000 Instead, they talk here about vaccine distribution.
00:29:20.000 And 90% were given to men, and they can get the truth straight.
00:29:24.000 It's just nauseating, this whole thing.
00:29:26.000 Get ready, everybody.
00:29:27.000 We're heading to June soon.
00:29:28.000 What is it, in a month and a half?
00:29:30.000 It's going to be quite a month of pride month.
00:29:34.000 Speaking of which, yesterday, I was sent this picture in downtown Los Angeles.
00:29:41.000 Maybe we could put this up, maybe not.
00:29:44.000 I think this was written up.
00:29:45.000 I must have missed the story because somebody said they saw it.
00:29:47.000 Disney is hosting a pride concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, performed by the Gay Men Chorus of Los Angeles.
00:30:00.000 Life, Love, Family, and Pride.
00:30:04.000 There it is.
00:30:04.000 Thank you.
00:30:05.000 Disney is going all in.
00:30:07.000 The company that is making content for your kids, the content that many of you pay for every single month through Disney Plus, this is their celebration in the month of June.
00:30:18.000 Disney Pride in concert.
00:30:20.000 Are children going to be there?
00:30:22.000 Remains to be seen.
00:30:25.000 Not to mention, Colorado just has become the first transgender tourism state.
00:30:30.000 Governor Polis, who pretends to be this moderate, just signed a bill allowing children to travel for puberty blockers, even if drugs were banned where they live, to become a sanctuary state for chemical castration.
00:30:44.000 Let it be known that California and Colorado are saying that, hey, kids, if your parents don't want you to take Lupron, which by the way, is considered to be by the ACLU too cruel of a drug for people that are rapists to take, that's a real lawsuit the ACLU filed.
00:31:02.000 That rapists, because for a while we used to castrate rapists by giving them Lupron, but there was a lawsuit saying it's sick and inhumane.
00:31:09.000 But now we give them at age 12.
00:31:12.000 And Colorado wants to become a destination for that.
00:31:15.000 Colorado wants to be known not just for their, let's say, indulgence in cannabis being a mile high, but they also want to be known at the place where kids from around the world, around the country, can flee their parents, vulnerable kids, and to castrate themselves.
00:31:36.000 That's what Colorado wants to be known as.
00:31:40.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
