00:00:03.000 My name is Charlie Kirk.
00:00:05.000 I run the largest pro American student organization in the country fighting for the future of our republic.
00:00:11.000 My call is to fight evil and to proclaim truth.
00:00:14.000 If the most important thing for you is just feeling good, you're going to end up miserable.
00:00:19.000 But if the most important thing is doing good, you will end up purposeful.
00:00:24.000 College is a scam, everybody.
00:00:26.000 You've got to stop sending your kids to college.
00:00:27.000 You should get married as young as possible and have as many kids as possible.
00:00:31.000 Go start a Turning Point USA college chapter.
00:00:33.000 Go start a turning point USA high school chapter.
00:00:35.000 Go find out how your church can get involved.
00:00:37.000 Sign up and become an activist.
00:00:39.000 I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade.
00:00:41.000 Most important decision I ever made in my life.
00:00:44.000 And I encourage you to do the same.
00:00:45.000 Here I am.
00:00:46.000 Lord, use me.
00:00:48.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:00:49.000 Here we go.

00:01:13.000 That is Noble Gold Investments.com. 0.99
00:01:17.000 I think that this country's view, especially when we're coming now into DEI and we're coming into defunding the Department of Education, we're coming to taking the Tuskegee Airmen out of being taught.
00:01:32.000 That has been reversed, just for the record.
00:01:33.000 Okay, okay.
00:01:34.000 But there's been multiple other things besides Tuskegee, but also like, you know, the whole.
00:01:39.000 Debate on critical race theory, teaching slavery in schools, teaching black history, etc., etc.
00:01:45.000 These are things that are being targeted specifically when it took years and years to even get them in place. 0.59
00:01:51.000 I think that this country is built on using the Bible not even 100 years ago to defame and to dehumanize black people.
00:02:04.000 There has been use of the Bible specifically when people used to come into the church and talk about. 0.81
00:02:10.000 How slaves should obey their masters, and how that's what the whole relationship between white and black people were.
00:02:19.000 I think that this country specifically has a lot of racist rhetoric that is built in that is not being targeted.
00:02:28.000 I think that.
00:02:29.000 So let's try to find some common ground.
00:02:31.000 Is that okay?
00:02:31.000 That's fine.
00:02:32.000 Can you give me a definition of racism?
00:02:38.000 Racism.
00:02:41.000 In terms of, I will say, okay, before I do.
00:02:44.000 You use the term, so I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.
00:02:46.000 Is that cool?
00:02:47.000 Yes, that's fair.
00:02:48.000 I will say that I will state that I am biased because I will be speaking as a black person specifically from the United States of America and not anywhere else. 0.59
00:02:58.000 But I will say racism is a discrimination against people of a minority that does not have a.
00:03:10.000 Okay, what is racism?
00:03:15.000 Racism, without using the word?
00:03:20.000 Can't use the word racism.
00:03:21.000 Can't use the word.
00:03:21.000 I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying.
00:03:26.000 A discrimination against a minority class of people in order to create an unbalance in the society or a hierarchy based on something that is undetermined as of color, race, I mean, the color of your skin, or maybe even color of your skin, color of your skin.
00:03:47.000 Can you be racist against Asians?
00:03:51.000 Yes.
00:03:52.000 Can you be racist against white people? 0.59
00:03:57.000 I believe that you can have prejudice against white people, but in the way that this country was built and the way that this country has been founded, and the way that there are many laws that have taken place, specifically like where you were talking earlier with the whole reparations debate, there are many legacies of white people in this country that.
00:04:18.000 Guys, just. 0.60
00:04:20.000 Okay, let's just all take a breath.
00:04:22.000 Gigi's talking.
00:04:23.000 Which I also would like, I felt like that kind of comes into.
00:04:27.000 Yes, we're not all from this country.
00:04:30.000 This is a country of immigrants.
00:04:32.000 This is a country of people surrounding the country.
00:04:33.000 So let me give you an example.
00:04:34.000 Yes. 0.85
00:04:35.000 If a group of black individuals, which happens unfortunately so often, say, we want to go beat up whitey, and they go beat up a white person, was that a racist thing that they did? 0.92
00:04:48.000 I would have to ask for further context, but yes, yes. 0.94
00:04:51.000 Based off of that, yes.
00:04:53.000 But then let's go back to your definition.
00:04:55.000 Because your definition was that.
00:04:57.000 It had to be the exercise of power.
00:05:00.000 I'm going to make your definition better for you because I. That's right.
00:05:02.000 The exercise of power against a minority group. 0.97
00:05:06.000 Yes. 0.60
00:05:06.000 But in that case, it wouldn't be because it would be a group of black individuals versus a white individual. 0.60
00:05:12.000 Correct. 0.77
00:05:12.000 So, wouldn't a better definition of racism be a human being or institution prejudicing or stereotyping against anybody else because of their race? 0.77
00:05:24.000 I do agree that that is a better definition.
00:05:27.000 There's a better definition in terms of how racism is used in society.
00:05:31.000 In terms of setting people behind, not having equal amounts of opportunities in these institutions, specifically colleges, jobs, et cetera, et cetera, hospitals.
00:05:45.000 But that is my point.
00:05:47.000 I feel like in this country, we don't talk about enough, and I think that under this presidency.
00:05:55.000 Don't talk about what enough?
00:05:56.000 We don't talk about the history and the impact of long term racism in this country against minorities.
00:06:03.000 Can I just press pause?
00:06:05.000 Yes.
00:06:05.000 That's all we've talked about the last five years.
00:06:08.000 I mean, but for hell, hear me out.

00:06:16.000 We have reoriented the entire national dialogue to have nonstop race obsession. 0.96
00:06:24.000 So I think we've talked about it thoroughly and properly. 0.95

00:07:55.000 So, do you think that black people in this country have equal opportunity and are treated equally as white people?
00:08:01.000 Absolutely. 0.56
00:08:03.000 So, let me prove it to you, okay?
00:08:05.000 So, Gigi and Charlie, what can Charlie do that Gigi can't do?
00:08:10.000 Okay, I don't know anything.
00:08:12.000 I don't really know much about you.
00:08:14.000 I don't know what you're capable of.
00:08:15.000 No, no, no, just on the law.
00:08:17.000 What am I allowed to do on the law that you are not allowed to do on the law?
00:08:21.000 On paper, nothing.
00:08:22.000 That's equal opportunity and equal treatment, right?
00:08:25.000 On paper, yes, that is true.
00:08:27.000 Like, I was born under this country.
00:08:29.000 I am a citizen of America.
00:08:31.000 I am an American.
00:08:32.000 I am a black American.
00:08:33.000 I am a follower.
00:08:35.000 I am a child of God.
00:08:37.000 We all are.
00:08:38.000 I 100% stand on that.
00:08:40.000 But I think that basically what I'm trying to get at is I feel like in order for us to have these conversations and to keep having these conversations, we need to have a specific.
00:08:51.000 Platform that we're able to meet each other on the common consciousness of this society. 0.79
00:08:57.000 And I don't think we can have these conversations if we do not understand that black people, specifically, because I really can't talk about Asians, I'm not Asian, I can't talk about other people of color, but black people in this country specifically have never had the opportunities to bring themselves back up. 0.81
00:09:16.000 When you're talking about the Chunk of the Reagan administration, which was forever and whatever ago. 0.61
00:09:27.000 How is it the government's fault of why dads aren't around? 0.98
00:09:31.000 I mean, we could get into the whole like the rhetoric of crack babies and crack drugs and shit. 0.96
00:09:36.000 But isn't it a decision to take drugs? 0.98
00:09:40.000 No, 100%.
00:09:41.000 So, and it's a decision to commit crimes?
00:09:44.000 Yes.
00:09:44.000 Okay, so the government didn't do that to them.
00:09:47.000 People decided to take drugs.
00:09:49.000 That's true.
00:09:50.000 So here's my contention.
00:09:52.000 So you have a population that.
00:09:55.000 Dads are not around.
00:09:57.000 That is very, very murderous per population capita.
00:10:01.000 That is very violent, more likely to be involved in gangs.
00:10:05.000 And we, you know, as conservatives, look at that and we say, wait a second, like the problem is within the community.
00:10:11.000 The problem is not the government.
00:10:13.000 The problem is not the culture.
00:10:15.000 The problem is not the history. 0.99
00:10:16.000 Instead, really what needs to happen is black leadership, black pastors, and black dads need to go into the black community and say, we're better than this. 1.00
00:10:25.000 Cut the killing, cut the violence. 1.00
00:10:27.000 You know, do you know the most?
00:10:28.000 One more point.
00:10:29.000 Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. 0.97
00:10:30.000 Who is, outside of heart disease and all that, what is the number one killer of black people in America?
00:10:36.000 I know about like diabetes, but. 0.98
00:10:38.000 Fellow black people. 1.00
00:10:40.000 A black person is far more likely to be killed by another black person than anything else. 1.00
00:10:45.000 Black people are a greater threat to their own people than any other community. 1.00
00:10:51.000 So it's not like white supremacists coming into these communities and they're mowing down, it's black on black gang violence. 1.00
00:10:57.000 But that's not okay. 0.99
00:10:58.000 I will.
00:10:58.000 I just like to go back to something that you said earlier about like how it has nothing to do with the government.
00:11:03.000 History, the history of black people in this country has everything to do with the government.
00:11:08.000 At one point, the government allowed and pushed and raised for slavery, that was something that this government did.
00:11:13.000 They made laws in the approval of segregation.
00:11:17.000 So, in terms of the long history, you can't take out the fact that government has played a major institution.
00:11:23.000 Government plays a role.
00:11:25.000 Gigi, let me ask you a question.
00:11:26.000 Go ahead.
00:11:27.000 How did that legacy of slavery?
00:11:30.000 Prevent you from getting to this school and having a great career?
00:11:35.000 I think that, okay, I'm sorry, I got kind of distracted.
00:11:39.000 Can you repeat the state of things?
00:11:40.000 So, Gigi, what I'm trying to do right now, I'm going to give you a warning, is prove that your own life experience is actually at odds with some of the things you're saying.
00:11:49.000 Is that cool?
00:11:49.000 That's kitty.
00:11:50.000 So, here you are at the University of Tennessee, correct?
00:11:52.000 You're a student.
00:11:52.000 Yes.
00:11:52.000 You have the whole world as your oyster in front of you.
00:11:55.000 You could study hard, you're going to graduate, you're going to do better than most people in probably the community you came from.
00:12:01.000 Just guessing.
00:12:02.000 I don't know your background, but based on how you're talking, how did the legacy of slavery get in your way?
00:12:08.000 I will say the legacy of slavery got in my way in the way that.
00:12:12.000 I am not a legacy child here.
00:12:14.000 I will say that it got in my way in the way that my parents, my grandparents were not afforded the same, were not at one point even allowed to be on the property of this school.
00:12:25.000 I think that that is one of the things that has gotten into this.
00:12:29.000 But you're here.
00:12:29.000 It didn't get in the way.
00:12:30.000 So here's the attitude I want you to adopt, Gigi.
00:12:32.000 And I'll close with this.
00:12:34.000 Instead of just looking at everything in the past that's wrong and bad through a victim lens, say, you know what?
00:12:39.000 It's still going on.
00:12:40.000 Okay, hold on.
00:12:41.000 One sec.
00:12:41.000 Say, you know what?
00:12:42.000 I'm an American.
00:12:44.000 And I'm going to use my mental energy to say, despite all of that, I get to succeed and flourish and prosper as a black American at the University of Tennessee.
00:12:54.000 You are a living embodiment, Gigi, that you can still succeed as a black individual.
00:13:00.000 I would just disagree from the simple fact that I feel like there are a lot of barriers, there's a lot of obstacles, there's a lot of prejudice just in somebody might look at me and not even assume that I could even be a black person.
00:13:11.000 How do you know what they're thinking?
00:13:13.000 I'm not saying that I know what people are thinking.
00:13:15.000 I don't know what people are thinking.
00:13:16.000 You just said that.
00:13:17.000 I can assume from prejudices that I know exist in this country.
00:13:20.000 Hold on a second, I gotta go time out.
00:13:21.000 And you know what? 0.79
00:13:22.000 If you walk around here and you go see, this happens all the time, and you see a white boy with the short shorts and kind of acting all, you know, like you might say, he's only there because of his parents. 0.68
00:13:34.000 Oh, it happens a lot at these southern schools, right? 0.57
00:13:37.000 I mean, it happens.
00:13:37.000 I mean, I was raised in Michigan.
00:13:39.000 So, everybody has to overcome some form of bias, prejudice, or stereotyping.
00:13:45.000 What's most helpful, let's stop talking about it so much and talking about how we can apply ourselves to become better.
00:13:51.000 People and better citizens.
00:13:52.000 Thank you so much, Gigi.
00:13:53.000 Thank you.
00:13:54.000 Thank you.
