00:02:41.000 Gad Saad.

00:02:49.000 Mr. Saad is a best-selling author, also of The Parasitic Mind.
00:02:54.000 I should say Dr. Sad, actually.
00:02:57.000 And he is a wonderful commentator and friend of the program.
00:03:01.000 Welcome back, Gad.
00:03:02.000 Oh, so good to be with you, Charlie.
00:03:04.000 So lots of topics to cover.
00:03:06.000 I want to discuss something you said that was sent to me from many people, which is how we should view immigration to the West.
00:03:15.000 And let me just kind of pose that question to you.
00:03:17.000 How should we view mass migration, in particular, Islamic mass migration?
00:03:23.000 Look, if you have a rational and sane immigration policy, this is what you should be asking.
00:03:28.000 Number one, do immigrants provide a net benefit to society?
00:03:34.000 Number two, do the immigrants that you are importing into the host nations share your foundational values?
00:03:41.000 If yes, then we may allow them in.
00:03:44.000 If no, then it would be suicidal empathy to let them in.
00:03:47.000 So, look, I'm an immigrant.
00:03:50.000 Elon Musk is an immigrant.
00:03:52.000 Some of us don't want to destroy the West.
00:03:54.000 We want to contribute in any way that we can to the West.
00:03:57.000 Other folks don't share that vision.
00:03:59.000 And so we have to be very careful.
00:04:01.000 So you said something in particular about Islamic mass migration.
00:04:06.000 What about their cultural view or worldview is important for us to understand?
00:04:11.000 Yeah, so I think probably the clip that you're referring to is I was discussing, I can't remember on which show, something that I have heard said to me in Arabic, because for your viewers and listeners, Arabic is my mother tongue.
00:04:24.000 I was born in Lebanon.
00:04:25.000 And so when they would speak to me, this was probably 20 years ago before I guess, you know, they would have recognized who I am.
00:04:32.000 And when we speak in Arabic, many people would intimate the following, Charlie.
00:04:37.000 The West is a woman to be mounted, right?
00:04:42.000 So imagine how domineering that ethos is, right?
00:04:47.000 So every single virtue that we think is to be laudable in the West, compassion, empathy, magnanimity, kindness, generosity, is heard in that region as weakness, weakness, weakness, weakness.
00:05:04.000 And so you have what I refer to as cultural blindness, right?
00:05:08.000 So not only do we not speak the same literal language, right?
00:05:12.000 They speak Arabic, we speak English, but we don't even speak the same cultural language in that those things that we view as virtuous, they view as weak, pathetic, and hence we should be mounting the West.
00:05:25.000 So how common is that phrase in Arab, I mean, Arabic, Arab circles?
00:05:30.000 Because from what I understand, the Muslim world largely sees Christian charity as weakness.
00:05:36.000 And we must remember that they are a religion of conquering and of taking over.
00:05:41.000 It was founded on conquest.
00:05:43.000 Is mass migration a means towards that end?
00:05:46.000 Yeah, great question.
00:05:48.000 So if I remember correctly, in the early 1990s, the Muslim Brotherhood had said that we are going to conquer the West in three ways.
00:05:58.000 So please listen carefully.
00:06:00.000 Number one, we're going to conquer the West through the womb of our women.
00:06:05.000 So this is basically we just outbreed you, right?
00:06:08.000 And we know that in the West, most Western countries are not even meeting the 2.17 average number of children that you need just for replacement of the people who die in the society.
00:06:18.000 So number one, we're going to conquer you through the womb of our women.
00:06:22.000 Number two, we're going to conquer you through Hijra.
00:06:25.000 Hijrah is the Arabic word for immigration, migration, right?
00:06:30.000 For example, Muhammad through Hijra went from Mecca to Medina, right?
00:06:36.000 And then number three, we're going to conquer the West by using your miserable freedoms and liberties against you.
00:06:43.000 And that's exactly what we're saying.
00:06:45.000 So what we're seeing.
00:06:46.000 So why not actually listen and take notice of what they're telling you they're going to do in exact prescriptive terms?
00:06:55.000 Yeah, but the question is then, what is the West doing here?
00:06:58.000 It seems a slow-motion suicide under the idea that diversity is our strength.
00:07:02.000 Canada is even worse, by the way, right now than America in terms of this mass migration.
00:07:08.000 And we see this all across Europe.
00:07:09.000 Europe is becoming a conquered continent.
00:07:13.000 What drives a civilization to do this?
00:07:16.000 Well, here we refer back to the parasitic mind.
00:07:20.000 So for example, one of the parasitic ideas that I discuss in the parasitic mind is cultural relativism.
00:07:27.000 Well, cultural relativism basically argues that there are no human universals.
00:07:32.000 There isn't anything that is common across all cultures.
00:07:35.000 You don't have the right, Charlie, to make a moral judgment about why other cultures might cut off the clitorises of five-year-old little girls.
00:07:45.000 How dare you use your cultural values to judge another culture?
00:07:49.000 So you can already see how that creates an impotence in your ability to say, I like these cultural values and I don't want any of these cultural values.
00:07:58.000 Who are you to say that we shouldn't tolerate people who have genocidal Jew hatred, you know, enmeshed within the DNA of their societies?
00:08:06.000 Don't be Islamophobic.
00:08:08.000 So, again, though, this doesn't mean that this is an indictment of every single Muslim.
00:08:14.000 I hate having to repeat that.
00:08:15.000 I have more Muslim friends than most people will ever meet.
00:08:19.000 There are nice Muslims, mean Muslims, nice Jews, mean Jews.
00:08:22.000 But does Islam contain tenets that are perfectly antithetical to the West?
00:08:27.000 Nothing could be clearer.
00:08:29.000 And so, I guess the question is: in massive numbers, have we seen any evidence that Muslims have been able to assimilate successfully with Western culture?
00:08:40.000 The answer is a resounding no.
00:08:42.000 So, if you look at the 1400-year history of Islam, currently today, we have the organization, OIC, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is an umbrella group of 56 Islamic countries plus the Palestinian territories.
00:08:58.000 Each of those countries, once upon a time, had zero Islam, right?
00:09:03.000 And then you blink and suddenly it becomes 80%, 90%, 99%.
00:09:09.000 Now, in some cases, that transformation happens in two seconds.
00:09:13.000 In other cases, it takes 500 years.
00:09:16.000 But once the process starts, you know exactly how it's going to go.
00:09:20.000 Now, that doesn't mean that in every case, it's only through mass genocide of the indigenous population, although in many cases it is that.
00:09:29.000 But the process is one where once a society becomes slightly Islamized, we know exactly the direction it's going to go.
00:09:36.000 So, take, for example, Egypt.
00:09:39.000 Egypt used to be a Coptic Christian country completely.
00:09:43.000 And then it is now 90% Muslim and 10% Coptic Christian.
00:09:51.000 What happened to the Christians in Syria, in Iraq?
00:09:54.000 And what happened to the Jews across all of those countries?
00:09:57.000 They seem to have all magically disappeared.
00:09:59.000 So, it doesn't mean that once Islam comes in, it kills everybody, but it certainly means that once you exceed a certain tipping point, the writing is on the wall.
00:10:09.000 And the writing is on the wall in the sense that we are watching the cherished West import our own demise.
00:10:17.000 Let's play cut 24.
00:10:21.000 We will raise the voice of Gaza!
00:10:23.000 We will raise the voice of Palestine!
00:10:32.000 And we in the West are just taking it.
00:10:35.000 Right.
00:10:35.000 And by the way, just for people to know, Allahu Akbar does not mean God is great.
00:10:41.000 It means Akbar means greater than.
00:10:44.000 So it could be greater than any other God.
00:10:46.000 It could be greater than your God.
00:10:48.000 But not only is it a war cry, it's a cry of supremacy, right?
00:10:54.000 If you had said Allah Gbir, it just means God is big, is great.
00:10:58.000 But if you say Akbar, it's greater than.
00:11:02.000 So the people who go to Oberlin College and don't speak a word of Arabic and try to lecture some of us whose Arabic is our mother tongue, hopefully they've been corrected.
00:11:11.000 Check out his book, which is now going to be in paperback, The Sad Truth About Happiness, Eight Secrets for Leading the Good Life.
00:11:21.000 Look, is it hard for you to go to sleep?
00:11:23.000 I could tell you, I've done one thing that has changed my ability to fall asleep.
00:11:27.000 Ever since I started adding magnesium breakthrough to my nightly routine, I've been able to quiet my mind to get the best sleep ever.
00:11:34.000 Once I started taking magnesium breakthrough, my sleep completely changed.
00:11:37.000 Now I have no problem falling asleep and waking up refreshed and energized.
00:11:40.000 For me personally, magnesium breakthrough has helped solve my sleep problems.
00:11:44.000 From winding down at the end of a stressful day to tossing and turning to waking up groggy, magnesium breakthrough has been a game changer.
00:11:51.000 Unlike other magnesium supplements that might give you one or two forms of magnesium, magnesium breakthrough contains all seven forms, magnesium, designed to help calm your mind, help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.
00:12:01.000 Over 75% of the population is magnesium deficient.
00:12:04.000 And what most people don't know is that if they're taking a magnesium supplement, they're still deficient if you're not getting all seven forms.
00:12:10.000 Don't miss out on the most relaxing sleep ever with magnesium breakthrough.

00:12:29.000 Magbreakthrough.com.
00:12:33.000 Dr. Said, I want to repeat this and go deeper into it.
00:12:36.000 Do you believe there will be a breaking point where eventually mass consensus will be reached and mass migration will be cut off?
00:12:45.000 Or is that the parasitic mind virus of tolerance, diversity, and acceptance are okay?
00:12:51.000 Because you say in Arabic, Islam wants the West as a woman is to be mounted.
00:12:56.000 Pretty dark stuff.
00:12:58.000 Why is it that the woke enjoy being mounted?
00:13:01.000 Right.
00:13:02.000 Well, because they suffer regrettably from a cocktail of these parasitic ideas, right?
00:13:07.000 So, for example, they will often write to me and say, you are such a vile hypocrite.
00:13:12.000 You are an immigrant, and yet you are, you know, negating the opportunity for other people to come and be immigrants.
00:13:20.000 What a bafflingly idiotic position to take, right?
00:13:24.000 I mean, Ted Bundy is a man, and I am a man.
00:13:28.000 Therefore, how could we put Ted Bundy in the death penalty?
00:13:31.000 We're both men.
00:13:32.000 So, how could that be, right?
00:13:34.000 A tiger is feline, and your house cat is a feline.
00:13:38.000 Why are you so afraid of the tiger?
00:13:39.000 They're just both felines.
00:13:41.000 So, that's what happens when critical thinking is completely erased.
00:13:47.000 And what takes over is ideological rapture, right?
00:13:51.000 I don't know if you've seen it, I actually posted it yesterday on my X feed.
00:13:55.000 You see this kind of transgender guy or whatever, wearing a dress, and it says, Welcome, refugees, right?
00:14:03.000 So, that's the famous, you know, chickens for KFC, and I call them geese for foie gras or fish for sushi, right?
00:14:11.000 It is such ideological rapture that you lose your ability to instantiate your survival instinct, right?
00:14:19.000 Let me give you just one quick example.
00:14:22.000 In 2013, I think, Charlie, there was a Norwegian man who was raped in Norway by a Somali noble person, right?
00:14:32.000 When he was put in prison, I think he only served something like three or four years.
00:14:38.000 The Somali sodomizer was going to then be deported to Somalia.
00:14:43.000 Well, the guy who had been raped, the native Norwegian who had been raped by the Somali, felt incredibly guilty and felt terrible about himself.
00:14:53.000 That now, this sodomizer who sodomized him was going to lead a very bad life in Somalia.
00:15:01.000 So, when you are the victim of sodomy and your first instinct is to feel bad for your sodomizer, it's the abyss of infinite darkness.
00:15:11.000 It is the abyss of infinite darkness.
00:15:12.000 Now, but Dr. Said, I will say on a positive note, I think everyday Westerners who do not have a doctorate or do not have master's degrees or have been influenced by such, no offense.
00:15:23.000 I mean, obviously, you're against the academy, you know, homogeneity of thought.
00:15:29.000 I think that Westerners are starting to wake up.
00:15:31.000 It just, the only thing that is preventing the ceasing of mass migration, the only thing is that everyday Westerners need to withstand being called bigoted and racist.
00:15:43.000 As soon as you get through that, then you can have your civilization back.
00:15:48.000 I believe it's that simple.
00:15:50.000 You're absolutely right.
00:15:51.000 And as a matter of fact, towards the end, one of the ending pages, I can't remember which page it's on, but in the parasitic mind, I exactly make that point.
00:16:00.000 And that's why I have a call to activate your inner honey badger, right?
00:16:04.000 Because it literally becomes the mechanism by which you lose any ability to speak out against anything, right?
00:16:12.000 So there's a six foot four guy in the dressing room with your eight-year-old daughter.
00:16:19.000 He has a nine-inch penis, but earlier that day, he referred to himself as Linda.
00:16:24.000 That's it.
00:16:25.000 He's become a girl that's perfectly safe to share the bathroom with your eight-year-old daughter.
00:16:31.000 And God forbid that I would ever consider that a danger to my eight-year-old daughter because that would make me transphobic.
00:16:38.000 So what you said is exactly right.
00:16:41.000 Nothing is worth worse to many of the Western woke people than to be called intolerant, bigoted, racist, Islamophobic.
00:16:52.000 Once you surpass that fear, as you said, we will win the battle by next Tuesday.
00:16:59.000 Yeah, in ancient Israel, there was the Ten Commandments, the Decalogue, and you shall have no other gods before me, have no craven images.
00:17:08.000 The singular commandment of the West is thou shalt not be bigoted or racist.
00:17:13.000 It is the prime directive of Western life.
00:17:17.000 And that's probably a good idea.
00:17:18.000 I have no like moral qualms with that.
00:17:20.000 I think racism and bigotry is awful and wrong against all people, even though they don't believe that.
00:17:25.000 However, when it gets expanded to the place where you are not allowed to defend your home because you cannot violate the prime directive or the prime limiting belief, then maybe it's starting to enslave your mind and it's starting to actually be used against you.
00:17:47.000 Hey guys, prepare to witness a journey of resilience, courage, and redemption in Angel Studios' upcoming new film site, hitting theaters May 24th.
00:17:57.000 I had a chance to watch it and it's such an extraordinary true story that captures your heart and leaves your spirit inspired.
00:18:03.000 It's everything awe-inspiring that you'd expect from Angel Studios.
00:18:06.000 And you can buy your tickets now at angel.com/slash Charlie.
00:18:10.000 This film stars Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnier and Terry Chen and follows Dr. Ming Wang's epic quest from poverty-stricken beginnings in communist China to become a pioneering eye surgeon in America.
00:18:24.000 You'll watch him face the challenge of restoring the sight of a blind orphan that forces him to confront his dark past of violence and communism that he experienced in China.
00:18:33.000 This Memorial Day weekend, find out if the ghosts of Dr. Wang's past shatter his sanity or propel him to accomplish the impossible for a child in need.
00:18:43.000 Mark your calendars for March 24th and get your tickets today at angel.com/slash Charlie.
00:18:47.000 That's angel.com/slash Charlie.
00:18:51.000 Your thoughts on thou shalt not be racist as the kind of core operating belief of the West.
00:18:57.000 That's that's what's making us impotent, right?
00:19:00.000 In the parasitic mind, I talk about another, I mean, a related edict, right?
00:19:05.000 When you say, you know, don't, don't, don't cast a judgment, right?
00:19:09.000 As I believe it was Jesus who said it, and you'll correct me if I'm wrong.
00:19:13.000 That doesn't mean that I should never judge others.
00:19:15.000 It simply means that don't succumb to moral hypocrisy, right?
00:19:19.000 Don't castigate others if you haven't had your house cleaned first, right?
00:19:24.000 But that doesn't mean that human beings should not judge others, right?
00:19:28.000 So, and that's what stops people in the West from because they learn that no matter what someone else does, no matter what some noble brown culture does, it is not for us to judge them because that would be imposing our values onto them, right?
00:19:43.000 And so they become sort of this fetishized, you know, noble people that can't do any wrong.
00:19:48.000 No, no, no, I'm here to judge.
00:19:50.000 Cutting off the clitorises of five-year-old girls, I don't want it in my society.
00:19:55.000 Throwing gays off rooftops, I don't want it in my society.
00:19:58.000 So, again, to your point, once we get rid of this desperate fear of never judging others, we will solve this problem.
00:20:06.000 I completely agree.
00:20:08.000 And so, we are seeing this in the states.
00:20:10.000 I'll just kind of recite some of this.
00:20:12.000 A majority of states in America believe that we should have mass deportations.
00:20:18.000 78% of Texans believe that there should be mass deportations, 58% of Arizona, 62% of Nevada, 64% of Montana, and it goes on from there.
00:20:29.000 Now, mind you, if you go state by state, the more left-wing or more woke or more mind virus-infected, Dr. Saad, they are, the less likely they want mass deportations.
00:20:42.000 So, for example, you go to the state of Oregon, only 19% of the state of Oregon want mass deportations.
00:20:51.000 Now, I want to pause on this.
00:20:52.000 15% of Vermont.
00:20:54.000 Now, this is what's fascinating to me, is that Vermont and Oregon are some of the whitest states in America.
00:21:02.000 This is not a racial thing per se, that the more white you are, the more that you want deportation.
00:21:07.000 This is an ideological thing, Dr. Saad, which I think plays into our discussion here, which is that it doesn't matter the color of your skin, the mind virus is colorblind and it can infect anybody.
00:21:19.000 Dr. Saad.
00:21:20.000 You're exactly right.
00:21:21.000 And just to make it clear, while of course Islamic immigration poses a unique threat, I'm not pleased either when millions of people from Guatemala and Honduras and so on come in.
00:21:33.000 Not because they're from Honduras and not because they have a lighter or darker skin you than you than you do, Charlie, but it's because why is it that when I went down to speak at the Steamboat Institute, which is a gorgeous think time, great people?
00:21:50.000 Exactly.
00:21:50.000 Secretary Pompeo was speaking there.
00:21:52.000 So here I am, a Canadian professor who's been a professor at three major American universities.
00:21:58.000 The border agents took me to the side and for 45 minutes were grilling me at times quite rudely.
00:22:05.000 So I had to go through all kinds of hassles.
00:22:08.000 A guy who lives and breathes the American values, who's the biggest champion of America.
00:22:14.000 But if I come in as Jorge de la Cruz and I put a fake tattoo that says MS-13 on me, then the border cops would not have stopped me.
00:22:23.000 But Canadian professor Gad Saad, well, we really have to vet him because he could be dangerous.
00:22:28.000 So it's about following the law.
00:22:30.000 You don't get to come into a country and say, please give me free stuff, while suckers like Gad Saad don't come into the country because they actually care about following the law.
00:22:41.000 That is exactly right.
00:22:42.000 So Dr. Said, I want to go deeper into your book, The Parasitic Mind, which I think Elon Musk took your framing and your metaphor and has now popularized it to the woke mind virus.
00:22:55.000 Is that fair, Dr. Said, that you were the first one to introduce this metaphor and now it is basically in the zeitgeist of our political discussions?
00:23:05.000 Indeed.
00:23:05.000 And I don't know if you saw, there was just a Wall Street Journal article that came out.
00:23:11.000 I can't remember the exact title, but it says something like, The Man Who Fuels Elon Musk's Nightmares.
00:23:18.000 And while that man is the man that you're speaking to, and the reason why it refers to nightmares, because in one of the tweets that Elon had posted a while ago, he said, well, I read your brilliant book and it made me not be able to sleep at night.
00:23:32.000 I was having nightmares because he realizes that this neuroparasitic framework is a real problem and we really need to stand together to save the West.
00:23:40.000 People think that this is just some hyperbolic warnings that we're screaming.
00:23:46.000 It isn't.
00:23:46.000 Now, again, people don't have the ability to have the imagination of extrapolation, right?
00:23:52.000 They go to work every day and life is good.
00:23:54.000 They buy their tomatoes.
00:23:56.000 It's my daughter's weekend prom this week.
00:24:01.000 And so life is good, but try to extrapolate.
00:24:04.000 If the current trends continue another 10 years, 50 years, 100 years, it won't be pretty.
00:24:10.000 So stand up and get engaged.
00:24:12.000 Yeah.
00:24:12.000 So Dr. Saad, explain and let's connect all the different parts here to our audience that doesn't quite think about this as deeply as you do.
00:24:19.000 How on earth woke, upper middle class, hyper-educated college or originated ideas find partners and an alliance with medieval theocratic Islamic fascism.
00:24:33.000 I know this is obvious to you, but to our audience, it's one of the number one questions we receive.
00:24:39.000 Because both of these groups share a disdain for our Western classical liberal values, right?
00:24:47.000 So they kind of united in their disdain for the West.
00:24:51.000 But then the wokester don't realize that if Islam were to become ascendant, they would also be thrown off the proverbial rooftop, right?
00:25:00.000 There's a great expression in the Middle East, which you may be aware of.
00:25:06.000 It goes, I'm translating, it goes, first we come for the Saturday people, then we continue with the Sunday people.
00:25:13.000 The Saturday people in this case is a euphemism, right?
00:25:16.000 It refers to the Jews.
00:25:18.000 And then, so, yes, of course, the first guys that we get rid of are those pesky, obnoxious, diabolical Jews, but we're not going to stop there.
00:25:28.000 We're coming for you next, Christians.
00:25:30.000 And so, what do you see in terms of demographic realities in the, in the, in Arabia, right?
00:25:37.000 Where are the Christians?
00:25:38.000 They magically disappeared.
00:25:39.000 Where are the Iraqi Christians?
00:25:41.000 Of course, the Jews are almost completely gone.
00:25:43.000 There's just a small community in Iran, right?
00:25:46.000 In Lebanon, where I hail from, there is less than 40 Jews left and they hide their Judaism.
00:25:52.000 But there was once a very thriving community.
00:25:54.000 What happened to them?
00:25:55.000 What happened to Yemeni Jews?
00:25:57.000 What happened to Algerian Jews?
00:25:58.000 Egyptian Jews, Syrian Jews.
00:26:00.000 So that's what people have to understand is that it's a long game, right?
00:26:05.000 The Taliban used to say, you know, you have all the watches referring to Americans, but we have all the time in the world.
00:26:13.000 So inshallah, it might take five years, it might take 500 years, but we'll flip you and we'll Islamize you.
00:26:20.000 It's grotesque.
00:26:21.000 Wake up.
00:26:22.000 Yeah.
00:26:22.000 And of course, it's just the obvious is that they'll also absorb the woke as well.
00:26:28.000 I mean, the woke thinks that they can have a partnership in the disdain for the West.
00:26:32.000 They will too be overrun, but it doesn't seem to concern them because they're so driven by bitterness for our way of life that the destruction of the West at all costs.
00:26:44.000 Well, exactly.
00:26:45.000 Let's suppose you were someone who was very self-loathing as an individual.
00:26:49.000 If you went to see a clinical psychologist, he or she would try to get you to gain confidence, to have a strong, non-fractured personhood.
00:26:58.000 So at the individual level, you should not be self-loathing, but somehow the West has decided that the highest progressive ideal to reach is to be deeply or giastically self-loathing, right?
00:27:11.000 Hence, this is why I mock by doing sometimes, I don't know if you've seen my clips where I self-flagellate, right?
00:27:16.000 I'm evil.
00:27:17.000 I'm heterosexual, man.
00:27:19.000 I like women.
00:27:21.000 You know, I am, that's exactly what you see.
00:27:24.000 So the more I hate my society, the more I get an A-plus at Oberlin.
00:27:29.000 It's grotesque.
00:27:30.000 There is so much to be proud of in the West.
00:27:32.000 Don't see the millimeter to societies that don't share your values.
00:27:38.000 You will regret it.
00:27:39.000 So, Dr. Said, the self-hatred and the self-loathing is remarkable and significant.
00:27:45.000 Canada is actually outpacing America in terms of how to quickly destroy one country.
00:27:50.000 Can you just give an update to our American listeners that are not necessarily up to speed on the decline of Canada?
00:27:59.000 Yeah, actually, I don't think he'll mind me saying this because we discussed it on my show.
00:28:04.000 I'm going to talk about Elon Musk.
00:28:05.000 He once sent me a private message saying, Hey, God, how the hell is it that you survive amongst the incredible infestation of woke mind viruses in Canada?
00:28:15.000 So that's to your point, right?
00:28:17.000 Look, our prime minister is a walking lobotomized manifestation of every parasitic idea that I discuss in the parasitic mind.
00:28:27.000 And so then that trickles down, right?
00:28:29.000 I'll give you an example from my own university.
00:28:32.000 At my university, this is a major research university with, I think, over 40,000 students.
00:28:38.000 So imagine it's something akin to University of Florida or Ohio State University, right?
00:28:44.000 Well, as part of our five-year strategic plan, number one mission in that strategic plan is to indigenize and decolonize the curriculum in every course at the university.
00:28:59.000 What the hell does that mean, Charlie?
00:29:01.000 How do I decolonize and indigenize evolutionary psychology?
00:29:06.000 How do I decolonize and indigenize the neurosciences?
00:29:10.000 But that's the kind of ideological rapture we have, where a major university puts that as its foundational central mission statement.
00:29:20.000 It's insane.
00:29:21.000 I just have to ask, how do you decolonize trigonometry?
00:29:24.000 I just, our Pythagorean theorem.
00:29:27.000 I mean, just what maybe I'm wrong, and you can correct me, but did like the Navajo Indians, were they figuring out the idea of zero?
00:29:37.000 I'm not trying to insult them, but I believe that a vast majority of the mathematical breakthroughs that we enjoy here in the West didn't necessarily come from the great plains of the Navajo and the Apache.
00:29:49.000 I don't know.
00:29:50.000 Maybe I'm wrong.
00:29:53.000 Are you ready to lose weight, but not sure where to start?
00:29:55.000 I understand.
00:29:56.000 I was right where you are two years ago.
00:29:57.000 Let me tell you why I chose the PhD weight loss and nutrition program.
00:30:01.000 First, Dr. Ashley Lucas has her PhD in chronic disease and sports nutrition.
00:30:05.000 Her program is based on years of research and is science-based.
00:30:07.000 Second, the PhD program starts nutrition.
00:30:10.000 There is so much more.
00:30:10.000 They know that 90% of permanent change comes from the mind, and they work on eliminating the reason you gain this weight in the first place.
00:30:16.000 There's no shortcuts, pills, or injections, just solid science-based nutrition and behavior change.
00:30:20.000 And finally, probably most importantly, I lost 30 pounds.
00:30:23.000 Look, they're amazing.
00:30:24.000 If you want to lose weight, you got to go to myphdweightloss.com.
00:30:27.000 I was just texting with Dr. Ashley Lucas today.

00:30:42.000 I recommend their program.
00:30:43.000 Dr. Ashley Lucas has her PhD in chronic disease and sports nutrition.
00:30:46.000 Her program is based on years of research and is science-based.
00:30:49.000 Second, the PhD program starts nutrition, but it's so much more.
00:30:52.000 Go to myphdweightloss.com, myphdweightloss.com, call 864-644-1900.
00:30:59.000 I lost over 30 pounds.
00:31:00.000 Dr. Ashley Lucas, great American.
00:31:02.000 Check it out, myphdweightloss.com.
00:31:06.000 Dr. Said, tell us about your book on happiness.
00:31:10.000 We need to be lifted up after this very heavy conversation, Dr. Set.
00:31:14.000 Thank you for asking.
00:31:15.000 It actually came, the idea to write the book is not something that I had as part of sort of my roadmap of book writing projects.
00:31:23.000 It came to me because a lot of people, so after I had written The Parasitic Mind, people would write to me and say, how is it that you are able to tackle so many difficult, thorny, dark issues?
00:31:34.000 And you typically seem to have sort of a twinkle in your eye.
00:31:38.000 You can be joking.
00:31:40.000 You play around.
00:31:40.000 You're satirical.
00:31:41.000 You know, you're sarcastic.
00:31:43.000 What's your secret?
00:31:44.000 How are you happy now?
00:31:45.000 So, I thought, okay, well, if enough people want to know what my secrets to happiness are, maybe I can have the audacity of writing such a book.
00:31:54.000 Now, the reason why I say the audacity is because, as you may know, Charlie, probably the singular topic that philosophers have most written about through the ages is how to live the good life.
00:32:04.000 And so, I was at first concerned: can I actually write something that is fresh and unique?
00:32:09.000 And hopefully, if I've done a good job, I did exactly that.
00:32:12.000 So, I can, if you'd like, I can go through some of those.
00:32:14.000 Yeah, go through the top-level ones.
00:32:17.000 Yeah.
00:32:18.000 Okay.
00:32:18.000 Yeah.
00:32:18.000 So, uh, in one of the early chapters, I talk about the two decisions that are most likely to either impart great happiness or great misery upon you: choosing the right spouse and choosing the right profession.
00:32:30.000 If I wake up next to a person next to me in bed and I go, oh my God, thank God I'm up next to this person.
00:32:36.000 Well, that's a good way to start the day.
00:32:38.000 If I return to that person at the end of the day, well, that's great.
00:32:40.000 And if in between that, I go off to a job that provides me great purpose and meaning, well, then I've cracked the code to happiness.
00:32:47.000 Now, of course, the devil is in the detail.
00:32:50.000 How do you choose the right spouse?
00:32:52.000 How do you choose the right job?
00:32:54.000 And so, here I do have some statistical, you know, prescriptions that can increase your likelihood of being happy.
00:33:01.000 So, for example, when it comes to choosing the right spouse, in evolutionary psychology, there are two opposing maxims: there's the birds of a feather flock together, or the opposites attract maxim.
00:33:12.000 Well, it turns out the research is unequivocal about this.
00:33:15.000 If you're looking for long-term happiness in your marriage, then it's very much the birds of a feather flock together maximum that's operative.
00:33:22.000 Now, flocking on which feathers, it's not that you have to have the same eye color or that you have to have the same nose structure, it's you have to share the same foundational values that guide your life.
00:33:35.000 If I am very religious and my wife is a caustic atheist, well, it doesn't take a fancy professor to know that that's probably going to create fissures in our relationship.
00:33:45.000 So, find someone with whom you share those foundational values.
00:33:49.000 You know, physical attraction is great, but that wanes after 20 years.
00:33:53.000 And so, you really have to share these foundational bedrock values.
00:33:57.000 When it comes to the ideal job, I say that there are two things that are really important.
00:34:02.000 Number one, anything that allows us to instantiate our creative impulse.
00:34:07.000 You could be a chef, you could be an architect, you could be a stand-up comic or an author or a podcaster.
00:34:13.000 All of those jobs offer you the opportunity to create something from nothing, and that provides most people a lot of purpose and meaning.
00:34:22.000 The second thing that I would ask people to do, if it's feasible for them to do, is find the job that grants you temporal freedom.
00:34:30.000 So, I work very, very hard and long hours, but I never feel like I'm working because I set my own schedule.
00:34:37.000 If I feel like now, working on my next book for three hours, I do it and then I get the privilege of talking to Charlie Kirk and then I go off and meet a graduate student.
00:34:45.000 So, the ability to kind of navigate and be a vagabond gives me great pleasure.
00:34:50.000 Now, I understand that many people don't have those luxuries.
00:34:53.000 Well, then, try to do them in your personal pursuits.
00:34:56.000 Instead, when you finish work as a bus driver, instead of sitting passively next to the TV for six hours, you've always wanted to take a ceramics class.
00:35:05.000 Immerse yourself in that.
00:35:06.000 Go to some adult learning center and take that ceramics class.
00:35:09.000 So, there are all sorts of prescriptions and ways that we can approach life that can really improve our lot and happiness.
00:35:17.000 Dr. Saad, the two books are The Sad Truth About Happiness and The Parasitic Mind.
00:35:23.000 What a wonderful conversation here.
00:35:24.000 Dr. Saad, thank you always for taking the time.
00:35:27.000 And we'll have you on again soon.
00:35:29.000 Thank you so much.
00:35:30.000 Thank you, sir.
00:35:30.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
