00:01:32.000 You don't get to laugh much anymore because, you know, we're in a very dark, dark chapter.
00:01:39.000 Somebody sent me this article yesterday, just the title from the National Pulse.
00:01:43.000 I just, I couldn't stop laughing.
00:01:46.000 It is what the F is Mike Johnson Doing.
00:01:52.000 It's by Raheem Kassam.
00:01:53.000 So when I saw the author, I laughed even more because I could just hear him saying that in his British accent.
00:01:57.000 Raheem, welcome back to the program.
00:01:59.000 Everyone should check out the National Pulse.
00:02:01.000 It's amazing.
00:02:02.000 What is Mike Johnson doing exactly?
00:02:06.000 Yeah, thank you for having me, Charlie.
00:02:08.000 The headline was just my personal reaction when a friend sent me the video stream from Speaker Johnson at Columbia University yesterday, you know, getting heckled, embarrassing himself, really.
00:02:24.000 Not to detract from the obvious points he's making, right?
00:02:28.000 I think we can all agree on the obvious points he's making.
00:02:30.000 But, you know, Napoleon had an old phrase from the Battle of Waterloo.
00:02:34.000 He said, when the enemy is making a mistake, don't interrupt him.
00:02:38.000 And Mike Johnson interrupting as the left tears itself to pieces over this war overseas just struck me as particularly stupid, but also struck me as particularly heinous, given the fact that, what, there are about six months left to go until the election.
00:03:00.000 And one of the critical things that the Democrats fear right now is that they're going to fail to turn out their hard left base, perhaps their Hamas-friendly base, perhaps their Islamist base.
00:03:15.000 And we've seen how White House staffers have been kind of turned away from going to Arab and Muslim neighborhoods in Michigan and elsewhere.
00:03:23.000 And meanwhile, Mike Johnson wants to go and they go, hey, guys, actually, you know, hold me up as the bad guy in this scenario.
00:03:31.000 I just don't understand myself.
00:03:32.000 What the heck is he doing?
00:03:33.000 I'm just failing to understand what exactly was the point of this.
00:03:38.000 I don't like the protests, right?
00:03:40.000 Obviously, I don't like, I mean, I don't like what they're saying.
00:03:41.000 They have a right to say it.
00:03:43.000 But, I mean, in the grand scheme of things, we have a wide open southern border that he's done nothing to actually secure.
00:03:48.000 We're adding a trillion dollars to it every 100 days.
00:03:51.000 Like, Speaker Johnson can join me on a campus anytime.
00:03:54.000 I'll show him a round of just a bunch of people screaming to the sky.
00:03:57.000 Not exactly new.
00:03:58.000 What exactly was this?
00:03:59.000 I don't understand.
00:04:01.000 And by the way, he united all the left.
00:04:03.000 Everyone like stopped screaming at each other and said, oh, we hate him.
00:04:06.000 We hate him.
00:04:07.000 We hate him.
00:04:09.000 And question Raheem, did he visit the courtroom where Donald Trump is currently experiencing a Moscow show trial?
00:04:15.000 It was like, I don't know, a mile and a half down the street.
00:04:19.000 No, nothing.
00:04:20.000 Nothing like that.
00:04:21.000 Nothing like expunging the impeachment records.
00:04:23.000 Nothing like going after the NGOs who are trying to launder illegals into this country in order to vote, which they're very, very open about, by the way, especially at local levels.
00:04:34.000 We'll be doing some reporting on that in the coming days.
00:04:37.000 You know, nothing on the university endowments, nothing on Citizens United to actually take corporate power that is being wielded in aggression against Donald Trump, but also wielded in terms of corporate donations to college campuses, the donations that they get, even from a lot of liberal Jewish people who should be ashamed about what they are putting together in these college campuses.
00:05:02.000 Nothing on that, right?
00:05:03.000 Nothing on that.
00:05:04.000 Just go there.
00:05:05.000 And it's sort of like, I mean, this is an insult to you, I think, but it's sort of like a dollar store Charlie Kirk impression that he was doing up there, right?
00:05:14.000 Well, I take it as a compliment.
00:05:16.000 But yes, I mean, but here's the thing.
00:05:19.000 It's like, hey, man, if you want to do the college thing, give us a call.
00:05:22.000 We know how to do this thing right, you know?
00:05:25.000 I got to play the clip here.
00:05:26.000 So which one is it?
00:05:28.000 It's cut 130, 136 here.
00:05:32.000 He's getting heckled and all this.
00:05:34.000 I just play cut 136.
00:05:37.000 They have shouted racial epithets.
00:05:40.000 They have screamed at those who bear the star of David.
00:05:48.000 Enjoy your free speech.
00:05:52.000 I don't understand, but then if it's just free speech, why are you visiting?
00:05:57.000 Help me understand, Raheem.
00:05:58.000 I'm not being like sarcastic.
00:06:00.000 We have serious problems and issues here.
00:06:05.000 What's going on here?
00:06:06.000 Look, there are two things that are possible in this scenario.
00:06:11.000 And I get into this in the article, right?
00:06:13.000 The first one is what we opened with here, which is just outright stupidity, right?
00:06:18.000 It's just trying to intervene when your enemy is making its own mistakes.
00:06:22.000 And like you said, uniting a divided left against the Republicans.
00:06:26.000 And in most people's minds, unfortunately, we know this is not true, but in most people's minds, they'll see, oh, Republican at this university, very unpopular, Donald Trump.
00:06:35.000 And Donald Trump actually intervened in this later on in the day to say, hey, actually, Joe Biden has a big problem with Israel and Jews.
00:06:42.000 Joe Biden has an equal problem with the Palestinians and understands that that wedge is very important as you go into an election.
00:06:50.000 But Mike Johnson, the other part of it that I think may be happening here, and look, this is just me with my tinfoil hat on as I can currently keep wearing nowadays, tinfoil hat stays on, right?
00:07:02.000 Is somebody is sending him up there to do this work.
00:07:05.000 Somebody who doesn't have conservatives, Americans' best interests at heart as it pertains to the upcoming election.
00:07:11.000 Somebody who certainly doesn't have Donald Trump's best interests at heart in winning the election, but somebody who may have Mike Johnson's interests at heart and say to him, listen, you do this for us.
00:07:20.000 You scratch our backs on these college campuses.
00:07:22.000 You go tell these students how silly they're being.
00:07:24.000 We might actually help you out with some money to fend off your opposition.
00:07:28.000 And I say opposition, opposition on the right in Congress.
00:07:32.000 And I would like to hear, remember, this is what Kevin McCarthy was so good at, right?
00:07:36.000 He was extracting money out of Republican donors in order to face off Republican primary challenges all across the country who weren't McCarthyites.
00:07:45.000 And I want to hear Mike Johnson or somebody on Mike Johnson's staff saying, no, that is absolutely not what we're doing.
00:07:51.000 We would never do that to Republican opponents like McConnell and McCarthy have done for years.
00:07:56.000 I don't think they can come out and say this because deep down, this is what I think is really going on here.
00:08:00.000 This is yet another physia in the movement, and it's the physia that the rhinos, whatever you want to call them.
00:08:06.000 I'm sick of calling them rhinos now at this point.
00:08:08.000 It's so trite.
00:08:11.000 I don't say swear words, right?
00:08:12.000 But I call them conservatives under nominal terms.
00:08:15.000 You can do the acronym for yourself.
00:08:17.000 These people on Capitol Hill are some of the most heinous, feckless, and evil people that you'll ever meet in your life.
00:08:24.000 And that's what I think this has come down to.
00:08:27.000 So there's major and pressing issues here.
00:08:30.000 And I want to play Cut 138.
00:08:32.000 It's Elon Omar says speaker's condemnation was designed to endanger the lives of young people who are at the encampment.
00:08:39.000 Let's play cut 138.
00:08:41.000 And it is not surprising that he would go out to Columbia University and stir up really more anger and hate and endanger the lives of young people who are at the encampment at Columbia University.
00:09:00.000 So, Raheem, just did any Republican leadership speak out in the last four years when campus protests were calling for the end of whiteness or BLM or Antifa?
00:09:10.000 What is it about this particular protest that has the Speaker of the House the need to go say, stop saying what you're saying?
00:09:18.000 Well, it's a loaded question, isn't it?
00:09:19.000 But you're absolutely right.
00:09:21.000 You know, when the DEI professors, when whiteness is called demonic and all this stuff happens routinely, by the way, you know this.
00:09:32.000 It's happened every day on almost every college campus in America.
00:09:36.000 Not a peep out of Republicans.
00:09:38.000 And by the way, you know, the fact that Elon Omar feels emboldened to be able to go on television and lash out proves the point, right?
00:09:44.000 He's just laid it up for her to dunk on him, laid it up for all of them to dunk on him.
00:09:49.000 This is about something different, right?
00:09:51.000 This is about being not America first.
00:09:54.000 Here you have these foreign wars.
00:09:55.000 We've already shown that he capitulated so easily on the Ukraine stuff.
00:10:00.000 He's so easy to capitulate on where America needs to intervene abroad.
00:10:03.000 And listen, you and I are on the record here.
00:10:06.000 We're no fans of Islamists.
00:10:07.000 I left Islam, right?
00:10:09.000 I've taken all the curses and the fatwas and the death threats and all that.
00:10:13.000 I wrote a book called No Go Zones.
00:10:14.000 I went to these neighborhoods, these Islamist neighborhoods in Europe to expose what's going on there.
00:10:19.000 But that doesn't mean to say that you have to prioritize foreign wars and foreign interventionism above all else.
00:10:25.000 And this is what Mike Johnson is now doing.
00:10:27.000 You know, until that yesterday, I was kind of on the fence about the motion to vacate stuff.
00:10:32.000 I was like, look, you don't need these optics going into an election.
00:10:35.000 He goes up there yesterday.
00:10:36.000 I said, you know what?
00:10:37.000 Maybe MTG is right.
00:10:39.000 This guy is a clown.
00:10:40.000 He doesn't know what he's doing.
00:10:42.000 It'd be better off to have a vacancy for the next six months.
00:10:47.000 Are you ready to lose weight, but not sure where to start?
00:10:49.000 I understand.
00:10:50.000 I was right where you are two years ago.
00:10:51.000 Let me tell you why I chose the PhD weight loss and nutrition program.
00:10:55.000 First, Dr. Ashley Lucas has her PhD in chronic disease and sports nutrition.
00:10:59.000 Her program is based on years of research and is science-based.
00:11:02.000 Second, the PhD program starts nutrition.
00:11:04.000 There is so much more.
00:11:04.000 They know that 90% of permanent change comes from the mind, and they work on eliminating the reason you gain this weight in the first place.
00:11:10.000 There's no shortcuts, pills, or injections, just solid science-based nutrition and behavior change.
00:11:15.000 And finally, probably most importantly, I lost 30 pounds.
00:11:17.000 Look, they're amazing.
00:11:18.000 If you want to lose weight, you've got to go to myphdweightloss.com.
00:11:21.000 I was just texting with Dr. Ashley Lucas today.
00:11:23.000 If you're ready to lose weight for the last time, call 864-644-1900.
00:11:27.000 Go online at myphdweightloss.com.
00:11:30.000 Do what I did.
00:11:30.000 And what hundreds of my listeners have done and call today, 864-644-1900.
00:11:36.000 I recommend their program.
00:11:37.000 Dr. Ashley Lucas has her PhD in chronic disease and sports nutrition.
00:11:40.000 Her program is based on years of research and is science-based.
00:11:43.000 Second, the PhD program starts nutrition, but it's so much more.
00:11:47.000 Go to myphdweightloss.com, myphdweightloss.com.
00:11:50.000 Go 864-644-1900.
00:11:53.000 I lost over 30 pounds.
00:11:54.000 Dr. Ashley Lucas, great American.
00:11:56.000 Check it out, myphdweightloss.com.
00:12:00.000 So, Raheem, just can you elaborate a little bit more on that?
00:12:03.000 Is it time to vacate the chair?
00:12:05.000 Yeah, look, I have demured on this topic for the last couple of weeks.
00:12:10.000 I've watched the arguments on both sides.
00:12:12.000 You know, usually I like to stick my oar in wherever I can, but I think it's fascinating because you have to have a solution.
00:12:19.000 You can't just be posing a problem all the time.
00:12:22.000 And I think this has been one of the problems that we have is: I've spoken to many members of Congress about this in the last couple of weeks.
00:12:27.000 And they say, Look, if you vacate Mike Johnson from the chair, who else you got?
00:12:33.000 And that is a very, very reasonable answer.
00:12:36.000 I think a lot of people out there are saying, Well, anything would be better.
00:12:39.000 Not true, right?
00:12:40.000 Not true.
00:12:40.000 I did a whole analysis article about this about a week ago, just walking people through exactly what would happen if, for instance, you had a number of Republicans who left Congress, handed over a majority to Democrats.
00:12:56.000 In the run-up to an election, you would have unlimited subpoena power.
00:13:00.000 You would have Jamie Raskin's bill, which tries to bar Trump from the ballot.
00:13:04.000 You would have them take over this weaponization committee, which still, by the way, this shows you how useless the Republicans have been in power, still has about eight to ten million dollars in the weaponization bank account that hasn't been used to go after the Democrats and to go after their corruption.
00:13:20.000 So they use that immediately.
00:13:22.000 They don't waste time like our side does.
00:13:24.000 And so, look, it would be a pretty heinous scenario if you had a Hakeem Jefferies or you had a Democrat majority there.
00:13:31.000 But again, you know, it's very difficult when you see Mike Johnson going up and doing his thing yesterday, when you see him acting like almost just a child who doesn't know what he's doing.
00:13:42.000 And he's standing on a stage and he looks lost and people are shouting at him.
00:13:45.000 And you think, what are you doing?
00:13:47.000 It would be better to have an inanimate carbon rod in the speaker's chair in Congress because it would probably do more use.
00:13:56.000 And that's the difficult part I think that we all feel in our hearts, that we all feel in our souls, is that especially those of us like yourself who know Donald Trump and know how hard he works every day.
00:14:09.000 You know, he's out there at 6 a.m. this morning in midtown Manhattan talking to the union members.
00:14:13.000 And then what do the Republicans always do?
00:14:16.000 Well, Abba Abban, you know, the old Israeli diplomat had a phrase since we're on this topic about the Palestinians.
00:14:22.000 He said they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
00:14:26.000 Same thing with the Republican Party.
00:14:28.000 Never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Charlie.
00:14:31.000 Let's talk about the lawfare here with Donald Trump.
00:14:35.000 He's up against huge opposition.
00:14:37.000 You saw the news in Arizona.
00:14:40.000 You know, the 17 people indicted.
00:14:42.000 Raheem, when are we going to get an opposition party that adequately fights back against this and has some mutually assured destruction?
00:14:49.000 Why are the Democrats the only ones that use political power?
00:14:52.000 Why is our side so afraid of it?
00:14:54.000 I think organization is one of the problems here.
00:14:57.000 And everybody wants to be in charge and everybody wants to have their slice of the pie and everybody's sort of trying to get a better job title and enrich themselves and all at the same time, instead of kind of corralling together and moving as legion against the deep, deep corruption.
00:15:14.000 I mean, people ignore the fact that the lawyer that Jack Smith had at the Supreme Court today is the same lawyer that Bob Mueller was using to prosecute the Russiagate case.
00:15:26.000 It's extraordinary that that isn't plastered about everywhere in advance of this.
00:15:30.000 Instead, people kind of all pull in their different directions.
00:15:33.000 Organization is key.
00:15:34.000 And one of the stories that we pulled up on the national polls today, actually, Politico first reported it, was that the far left, the anti-Trump left, have these conference calls every week where they go down the roster and they say, right, how are you advancing the football today?
00:15:49.000 How are you moving this topic forward?
00:15:50.000 And It's everybody you could possibly imagine, right, who is who is nefarious on the political left.
00:15:57.000 It's it's Roberta Kaplan, Eugene Carroll's lawyer, and many other people's lawyers as well.
00:16:01.000 Um, it's Norm Eisen, it's the Midas Touch people.
00:16:05.000 They all have these strategic Zoom calls every week where they help each other out and they help each other reach their end goals.
00:16:12.000 I know that kind of happens in some areas of the right.
00:16:16.000 You've had Grover Norquist and his parents doing our side hates each other.
00:16:20.000 Yeah, yeah, it's hard to get people on the phone.
00:16:24.000 And then if you do get them on the phone, they're all screaming at each other the whole time, calling each other all sorts of names and so on and so forth.
00:16:30.000 So I think that that is the predominant problem that we face at the moment: there isn't an enforcer.
00:16:35.000 Perhaps this is a job for you, Charlie, if you have some spare time.
00:16:41.000 I come about and knock people's heads together.
00:16:44.000 It is certainly something we've tried to do.
00:16:46.000 People are very protective, though, of their little fiefdom.
00:16:48.000 We've never worried about that.
00:16:49.000 We just build and we just build.
00:16:51.000 I will say, though, there is a fair amount of just there's so much infighting on the right currently.
00:16:56.000 Raheem, I'd love to have you back and kind of just have you take score.
00:16:59.000 I mean, it's it keeps scores.
00:17:00.000 It's unbelievable the amount of infighting right now, right?
00:17:03.000 I've never seen anything quite like it from O'Keefe.
00:17:07.000 Yeah, it's why we built our own thing, like why you built your own thing.
00:17:10.000 Exactly.
00:17:10.000 I'm sick of having to deal with anyone.
00:17:13.000 Are you kidding me?
00:17:14.000 No, there's a massive right-wing civil war underway that's kind of flying below the radar.

00:18:46.000 Joining us now is Dr. Jeff Myers, who is an awesome person.
00:18:51.000 Really enjoying rereading his book.
00:18:53.000 Truth Changes Everything.
00:18:54.000 That's not why he's on the program here.
00:18:55.000 Dr. Myers, welcome to the program.
00:18:57.000 Hey, Charlie, great to be with you.
00:18:59.000 Dr. Myers is also doing a training with our Teep USA Faith staff.
00:19:03.000 We got all sorts of fun stuff we're doing together.
00:19:05.000 And I also want to just plug Summit Ministries, one of the most important organizations out there.
00:19:11.000 We can get into that.
00:19:11.000 So tell us about this poll here.
00:19:13.000 As soon as you texted me, I responded with enthusiasm for multiple reasons.
00:19:18.000 So Dr. Myers, walk us through it.
00:19:20.000 Well, we did a poll about Gen Z and Israel.
00:19:24.000 So a lot of polls, you know, a thousand or so people respond.
00:19:27.000 Very small percentage of 18 to 24-year-olds.
00:19:30.000 So where a lot of the polls are basing their results on just, you know, 50 or 100 young people and their opinions.
00:19:38.000 So we oversampled, working with Scott Resmeus and young adults, 450, almost 500 young adults out of the total population.
00:19:47.000 And what we found is that young adults, yes, and it came through Newsweek magazine and they broke the story for us.
00:19:53.000 Positive story in Newsweek, miracles happen.
00:19:56.000 But it was a fascinating thing to realize that young adults are three times as likely to believe that Israel does not have a right to exist.
00:20:06.000 47% believe that Hamas's cause is unjust and Israel's wealth and military power make it unjust.
00:20:14.000 And it just goes downhill from there.
00:20:16.000 So essentially, we have a big divide in this country, and it's not between rural people and urban people.
00:20:22.000 It's between the older people and the younger people.
00:20:25.000 So let's dive deeper then.
00:20:27.000 Dr. Myers, why is Gen Z so anti-Israel in your diagnosis?
00:20:32.000 Is it because they're the least religious generation in American history?
00:20:35.000 I think that could be possible.
00:20:37.000 You know, you've seen these studies that right now, only about 16% of young adults are proud to be Americans.
00:20:44.000 And there's a lot to not be proud of about our country, honestly.
00:20:46.000 That's why you're on the air every day.
00:20:48.000 We got to get our act together.
00:20:50.000 But that combined with a postmodern mindset of everybody in the world fits into either oppressor or oppressed, which comes from a Marxist mindset.
00:21:01.000 You know, Hamas as a military unit is more Marxist than they are Muslim.
00:21:06.000 You've got to remember that.
00:21:08.000 They believe that they teach everybody in the world, you know, we are being oppressed.
00:21:13.000 Well, nobody wants to be an oppressor.
00:21:15.000 I mean, people are so uninterested in being oppressors that they will even make up mental health issues for themselves so that they can appear to be oppressed.
00:21:23.000 That's where we are with this generation.
00:21:25.000 So Dr. Myers, I want to now dive into your book, Should Christians Support Israel, which is coming out.
00:21:32.000 And I'm sure you're publishing it and writing it for a reason.
00:21:36.000 I'm very pro-Israel.
00:21:37.000 Our audience is very pro-Israel.
00:21:39.000 But the number one question I receive on campus from conservative Christians, Dr. Myers, is they are not pro-Israel.
00:21:48.000 They don't like Israel.
00:21:49.000 And they think Israel is, at the very least, that we shouldn't be supporting it financially.
00:21:55.000 They don't see why we give all this preferential treatment to it, why we give $26 billion, that Israel gets us into too many conflicts.
00:22:04.000 So Dr. Myers, lay out the case, and then I will play devil's advocate so that you can help answer some of these questions for me.
00:22:12.000 But yeah, why should Christians support Israel?
00:22:14.000 Well, there are several reasons.
00:22:15.000 The first reason to support Israel from a biblical perspective is that the modern Israeli state is a renewal of the ancient Jewish state from which we got our constitution.
00:22:29.000 Eric Nelson from Harvard University talks about the Hebrew Republic and he's correct.
00:22:33.000 The Hebrews had a constitutional republic.
00:22:35.000 Our founders intentionally and specifically built the United States Constitution on that basis.
00:22:41.000 So we have a tremendous heritage there.
00:22:44.000 Biblically, the case starts in Genesis chapter 12, where God told Abram, later renamed Abraham, I will bless you and through you, all nations of the earth will be blessed.
00:22:55.000 In Galatians chapter 3, scripture says to Christians that those who believe are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
00:23:03.000 And so therefore, Christians have inherited that blessing, and it's a covenantal blessing.
00:23:08.000 We could talk more specifically about the idea of covenant.
00:23:11.000 But the idea is not that Christianity replaced Judaism.
00:23:16.000 It's that we as Christians have the privilege of being joined with our Jewish brothers and sisters now as God's people.
00:23:23.000 So what do you have to say then to like a Catholic student that comes up and says it's very clear that Jesus was saying that there's ancient Israel and then modern Israel?
00:23:33.000 And for example, I don't know how to always respond to this.
00:23:36.000 Israel is the home of the most gay pride parades, most abortions, right?
00:23:40.000 One of the most secular countries.
00:23:41.000 Is that really ancient Israel that the scriptures are talking about?
00:23:45.000 There's very little evidence that modern Israel is even religious.
00:23:48.000 Oh, well, I think there's plenty of evidence that modern Israel is religious, but I would say it's correct that it's at least half secular.
00:23:55.000 It's probably less secular than the United States of America is.
00:24:00.000 And we have a lot of high hopes for our own country.
00:24:02.000 But yes, I think the gay issue probably would take a whole other show.
00:24:07.000 You've got to keep in mind that Jewish people view themselves as having been victims throughout history.
00:24:12.000 6 million Jews, that was almost half of the population of Jews in the world at that time, were killed during the Holocaust.
00:24:20.000 And so anybody else who they view as being marginalized, they will step up and support.
00:24:27.000 By the way, out of the 9 million people who live in Israel, 2 million are Arabs.
00:24:30.000 And this is, it's not a white colonialist state in any respect.
00:24:34.000 I mean, there are people, 103 different countries who've emigrated to Israel, 85 different languages.
00:24:41.000 It's one of the most diverse countries in the world.
00:24:43.000 So with that diversity and with religious freedom, you're going to expect to see people who may sort of have a form of godliness, but deny its power, as the Apostle Paul put it.
00:24:55.000 That part doesn't bother me.
00:24:56.000 Yeah, it's just a lot of people will cite this study that shows that Israel is one of the least religious countries in the world.
00:25:01.000 Only 30% of Israelis say they're religious.
00:25:04.000 It's on the very bottom of the list.
00:25:06.000 So I just don't know always how to respond to that because they're very secular, right?
00:25:11.000 They do have obviously some Orthodox Jews there.
00:25:15.000 But can you go to the scripture?
00:25:17.000 What does the scripture say about how this modern Israel is the fulfillment of prophecy?
00:25:22.000 Well, there's a textured argument that has to be made here.
00:25:26.000 I will admit that right up front.
00:25:27.000 You have to understand the idea of a covenant.
00:25:29.000 So in the Old Testament, a covenant is how people sealed agreements.
00:25:33.000 God made a covenant with Abraham.
00:25:35.000 And in the covenant, they would take an animal, divide its carcass in half, and the parties to the covenant would walk through and in essence, signaling, may what was done to this animal be done to me if I violate this covenant.
00:25:47.000 When the parts were divided, God put Abraham into a sleep and God alone walked through the pieces.
00:25:54.000 So we say it's God's covenant with Abraham, but it wasn't really.
00:25:57.000 It was God's covenant with himself on behalf of Abraham.
00:26:00.000 And so God put his own reputation on the line.
00:26:02.000 Well, if you look at the idea of covenant all throughout scripture, it is a covenant with a people in a land, with a people in a land, over and over again, dozens of times throughout the Old Testament.
00:26:14.000 Now, the theological framework that a lot of people are operating with was prior to 1948.
00:26:19.000 There was no physical Israel because the Jews were kicked out in AD 70.
00:26:23.000 So they assumed that it had to be a spiritual concept, not a physical one, because there was no physical Israel.
00:26:29.000 I think a lot of people's framework theologically has not taken into account the fact that Israel now exists.
00:26:38.000 So of the nations in the region, Jews are the only ones who have a historic tie to the land going back 3,000, even 3,500 years.
00:26:46.000 The Jewish state lists itself intentionally, constitutionally, as a Jewish state.
00:26:51.000 The flag is based on the Jewish prayer shawl.
00:26:55.000 The holidays and rituals in the country are based on Jewish holidays and rituals.
00:27:01.000 And for those reasons, I think I can look at that and say, I believe that it is part of fulfilled prophecy.
00:27:10.000 Now, if you think about prophecy at all, you realize many prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus, in his death and resurrection.
00:27:16.000 Many were fulfilled prior to that.
00:27:18.000 Many were fulfilled after that.
00:27:20.000 And we believe that many are yet to be fulfilled.
00:27:23.000 And the Catholic Church, if you're thinking specifically about the Catholic student, the Catholic Church actually came around to this.
00:27:28.000 For a long time, the Catholic Church was anti-Jewish, a strong persecutor of Jews.
00:27:34.000 And in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a radical reversal.
00:27:38.000 And the Pope said, we repent of all of that persecution of Jews, and we now see Jews as our brothers and sisters.
00:27:46.000 So, Dr. Myers, how do you think that we can best convince people of our argument?
00:27:51.000 Because we're not doing great.
00:27:53.000 I'd say vast majority of the Christians I work with want nothing to do with Israel.
00:27:58.000 Yeah, I think, you know, in the book, Should Christians Support Israel, I have a chapter called The Israel of Your Bible.
00:28:06.000 And if you can't be convinced by the biblical arguments, I quote chapter and verse, just like I've done on the show.
00:28:12.000 If you can't be convinced that way, if your theology is somehow getting in the way of the Bible, then maybe it's your theology that needs to change.
00:28:21.000 But there's something more that can be done too, Charlie.
00:28:23.000 I think, you know, we talked about this poll at the beginning.
00:28:26.000 I asked, do you think that the fact that Israel is wealthier and has greater military power makes its cause unjust?
00:28:32.000 And 47% of Gen Z said yes.
00:28:34.000 But then I threw him a curveball.
00:28:36.000 The very next question on the survey, does the fact that Hamas leaders have become billionaires by skimming international aid away from needy Gazans make their cause unjust?
00:28:46.000 57% of Gen Z immediately said yes.
00:28:50.000 23% were cast into confusion and said they weren't sure.
00:28:53.000 It was a reversal of almost 50% of the people who took the survey in one question, just by understanding one of the many, many facts on the ground.
00:29:03.000 I go on campuses and I'm constantly defending Israel.
00:29:06.000 And I would say, again, it's conservatives that are the most critical.
00:29:10.000 The left is too, but I mean, they're critical about other stuff.
00:29:13.000 But it's the one.
00:29:14.000 Can I say one more thing about that, Charlie?
00:29:16.000 This is super important, Charlie.
00:29:19.000 The United Nations wants to become a world government, and most of the nations in the world want that.
00:29:25.000 The United States's relationship with Israel is one of the only things remaining in the world that keeps the United Nations from becoming a world government.
00:29:33.000 It is our support of Israel against the will of the United Nations that keeps it from having absolute authority in the eyes of the world.
00:29:42.000 So this is not like other foreign policy issues.
00:29:45.000 I can understand why we would debate, but the United States's support of Israel, I believe, is a stand for American sovereignty.
00:29:54.000 Three-star general Michael J. Flynn, head of the Pentagon Intelligence Agency, knew all the government's dirty secrets.
00:30:01.000 He was one of the most respected generals in the military.
00:30:04.000 Flynn knew what the Intel world had been up to.
00:30:06.000 He understood its funding.
00:30:08.000 He ordered the first audit of the use of contractors.
00:30:12.000 This set off alarm bells.
00:30:14.000 The explosive new documentary, Flynn, deliver the truth, whatever the cost, uncovers the facts behind this scandal.
00:30:21.000 Flynn told the truth.
00:30:23.000 He was the most dangerous person for Donald Trump to hire.
00:30:26.000 I find out the worst enemy that I'm going to face in my life is right here in America.
00:30:31.000 They took my assessment and they wanted me to change it.
00:30:34.000 And I was like, I'm changing it.
00:30:35.000 They had to get rid of Flynn.
00:30:37.000 With in-depth interviews, archival footage, and never before seen personal records of the man behind the headlines.
00:30:44.000 I just felt like I was drowning.
00:30:46.000 Flynn, deliver the truth, whatever the cost.
00:30:48.000 Available now.
00:30:49.000 Watch it today.
00:30:50.000 Go to salemnow.com.
00:30:52.000 Satemnow.com.
00:30:57.000 Dr. Jeff Myers writes the book, Should Christians Support Israel?
00:31:01.000 So Dr. Myers, you were talking about the attitude generationally.
00:31:06.000 I would say that older Christians are definitely very pro-Israel.
00:31:09.000 Younger Christians, not so much.
00:31:11.000 I'm struggling with how to convince.
00:31:14.000 I'm usually pretty good at persuasion.
00:31:16.000 I've been to Israel twice, changed my life.
00:31:18.000 I love Israel.
00:31:19.000 I defend Israel.
00:31:21.000 But I just don't feel as if the message is getting out the way it should.
00:31:26.000 You work with young people with summit ministries.
00:31:28.000 Remind our audience about summit ministries and your experience about how to best respond to that.
00:31:34.000 Yeah, well, summit.org is our website.
00:31:36.000 And some ministries students will engage with us either through curriculum courses or in-person programs.
00:31:41.000 The in-person events, and you've spoken at one of these, it's an 11-day life-changing event.
00:31:46.000 1% of Gen Z has a biblical worldview.
00:31:48.000 By the time they finish those 11 days, 95% say they have a biblical worldview.
00:31:53.000 And even after 10 years, 85% still say they have a biblical worldview.
00:31:57.000 So there's some dropout, but not very much.
00:32:00.000 You can change somebody's perspective and make it more biblical.
00:32:03.000 You do that through solid teaching, facts.
00:32:06.000 You also do it through asking and answering questions, dialogue, and you do it through community, through small groups and one-on-one mentoring and time with the pastors and so forth who are at the event so that they find they actually believe they're treated as adults.
00:32:21.000 And questions are a key.
00:32:22.000 One of the questions you've got to ask on Israel and Palestine is what happened to you to make you feel the way you do?
00:32:28.000 You have to turn the question around and get at what the source of propaganda is that they have believed that caused them to turn away from the truth.
00:32:36.000 And one of the primary things you realize is, you know, for a lot of Christians, they're like, well, you know, whoever's hurt the most must be the most righteous.
00:32:45.000 Isn't that the Christian thing?
00:32:47.000 And so we think the Gazans are oppressed the most, therefore, the Gazans are more righteous.
00:32:51.000 That's as far as they've thought about it.
00:32:53.000 What you have to do is help people understand.
00:32:56.000 What are they talking about?
00:32:57.000 The people that are hurt the most.
00:32:58.000 What is that?
00:32:59.000 I've never heard.
00:33:00.000 No, it's, I mean, it's the way some people process Jesus' death.
00:33:03.000 Like, they say, well, Jesus, you know, he was hurt by the Jews.
00:33:07.000 And so, you know, anybody who's the more you're, more you sacrifice, the more you are hurt, the more righteous you are.
00:33:15.000 And there are many different scriptures that people would turn to.
00:33:17.000 None of them actually apply that, but, you know, it's people aren't looking for a super deep perspective.
00:33:23.000 They're just wanting to find some biblical way that makes them feel that it's okay to agree with their leftist progressive friends.
00:33:30.000 That's what has to be challenged.
00:33:32.000 And I think in the book, you know, should Christians support Israel?
00:33:35.000 That's what I'm trying to do.
00:33:35.000 I'm specifically focused on Gen Z.
00:33:38.000 The book isn't even out yet, by the way.
00:33:40.000 It's if you go to summit.org slash Israel, you can fill out a form there and I can get you the book as soon as it is published.
00:33:47.000 But I can't do that.
00:33:49.000 It's not going to be in bookstores.
00:33:50.000 This is going to be distributed directly to people.
00:33:53.000 And then pastors are going to order hundreds of copies and have people at the congregation study it.
00:33:56.000 I love it.
00:33:57.000 So summit.org slash Israel.
00:33:59.000 So in closing, Doctor, are you optimistic the more that we're able to speak about this issue, that we'll be able to win people over because the propaganda is overwhelming against Israel and the Jewish people?
00:34:12.000 I think once people see that this propaganda is coming from Hamas, which is an apocalyptic rape and death cult, and I prove that with 200 footnoted documents in this book, they will see we have been misled.
00:34:29.000 We have been indoctrinated and it's time to come to the truth.
00:34:33.000 It is a death cult.
00:34:34.000 And we must understand that, you know, to understand Israel and their behavior, you must first have clarity on the neighbors, what they believe, how they live, and just the, I would believe, demonic worldview that a lot of them have.
00:34:54.000 And so that makes a lot more, that helps contextualize the fight that Israel has.
00:35:00.000 I think that's really important and we need to emphasize that.
00:35:03.000 Dr. Myers, thanks so much.
00:35:04.000 Thanks, Charlie.
00:35:06.000 And I always laugh at some of these, you know, free Palestine protesters.
00:35:10.000 Like, yeah, okay, go try and live in some of these Arab countries.
00:35:14.000 I'm sure your protest would last quite long.
00:35:19.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
