00:01:39.000 Hey, everybody.
00:01:40.000 Welcome to this episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:42.000 I am thrilled to be joined by the amazing Judge Janine Pirot.
00:01:48.000 Judge, it is awesome to have you on the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:50.000 It's fun for myself to be able to interview you because I go on your program every so often.
00:01:55.000 Welcome to the program.
00:01:56.000 Well, thank you and thank you for the courtesy.
00:01:58.000 Now, think about this, Charlie.
00:01:59.000 The truth is, when I interview you, it's about four or five minutes.
00:02:03.000 You get to interview me for 30.
00:02:05.000 If I had 30, I would interview you.
00:02:07.000 So, I mean, you can come at me for 30 minutes.
00:02:09.000 So, I love you anyway.
00:02:11.000 Well, thank you.
00:02:12.000 And so, you have an amazing new book.
00:02:14.000 Let's just start with a call to action.
00:02:16.000 Everyone, go check out Judge Janine's new book, Don't Lie to Me and Stop Trying to Steal Our Freedom.
00:02:22.000 Judge, you said when you were as a judge, you used to say this all the time: Don't lie to me.
00:02:27.000 You said to people, say, just tell me the truth.
00:02:29.000 Why did you write this book?
00:02:31.000 And kind of what experiences do you have that kind of correlate with the title that you chose?
00:02:36.000 You know, the book, Charlie, is a third in a series in the trilogy of books I've written since the president has gone into the White House.
00:02:44.000 First, the liars, leakers, and liberals, those people who, you know, defrauded the Pfizer court with a dossier that was paid for by Hillary Clinton, and that a FISA court judge was either too stupid, incompetent, or was part of a complicity, a conspiracy to spy on Donald Trump's campaign through an innocent American, Carter Page, who's still walking around, an innocent American.
00:03:11.000 They used him as a vessel.
00:03:12.000 And what's amazing, Charlie, is people would say to me, Well, how do you know that?
00:03:17.000 You can't prove that.
00:03:18.000 Well, you know what?
00:03:19.000 I knew it at the time because I was a prosecutor and a judge, and I worked with Jim Comey.
00:03:23.000 I worked with the FBI.
00:03:25.000 And then it came true.
00:03:27.000 So then I wrote Radicals, Resistance, and Revenge because the Radicals were out of control, resisting everything this president did out of revenge for their not being able to draw that draw, drag that woman, Hillary Clinton, across the finish line.
00:03:40.000 Now, they've been lying ever since.
00:03:42.000 And I don't know, I was watching something and I said, stop lying to me.
00:03:47.000 And, you know, I said, that's it.
00:03:49.000 Here we go again.
00:03:50.000 And the amazing thing is that in the Donald Trump world, news is there 24, 7, 7 days a week.
00:03:57.000 So you can keep writing a book, as you know, you wrote your book on the president.
00:04:03.000 And, you know, they had to pull it away from me because I kept writing because there was more news and more news.
00:04:08.000 But this book pretty much takes over from the Radicals and Resistance, but it's a continuation of the lies of the left where they want to lock you in your home.
00:04:16.000 They want to open the borders.
00:04:18.000 They want to defund the police.
00:04:19.000 And then they want to take away your gun.
00:04:21.000 It sounds like a perfect nirvana for a socialist, you know, and it infuriates me because as a judge, I used to look at defendants.
00:04:29.000 And, you know, you don't have to be a genius.
00:04:31.000 Juries do this every day.
00:04:33.000 They listen to evidence.
00:04:35.000 They see what makes sense.
00:04:36.000 Does it sound true to them?
00:04:38.000 Is the person credible?
00:04:40.000 Apply the facts and the law.
00:04:42.000 And they decide to make a, they give us a verdict.
00:04:45.000 And in this case, these guys in Washington on the left have been lying to us from day one.
00:04:50.000 In fact, Charlie, there's more crime in Washington than there is going on in courtrooms across the country.
00:04:55.000 Wow.
00:04:55.000 Well, that's that is a statement.
00:04:58.000 So, Judge, I want to get into a part of your book here.
00:05:01.000 You have chapter three, Bunker Biden.
00:05:03.000 But before I get into chapter three, Bunker Biden, can you just give your initial reaction to the recent revelations about Hunter Biden and his international crimes of mystery or alleged crimes, I should say?
00:05:17.000 Am I missing something here?
00:05:18.000 Or is there just an incredible just pattern of almost a crime syndicate in the way that Hunter Biden paraded around the world?
00:05:28.000 What am I missing here?
00:05:30.000 You're not missing anything.
00:05:31.000 In fact, I call him the Biden crime family because what Hunter Biden did was he went around from China to Russia to Ukraine with a vacuum and he just sucked up all the money.
00:05:45.000 We're talking billions here, billions.
00:05:48.000 Here's a guy who's got a problem with drugs.
00:05:50.000 He got kicked out of the military and he knows nothing about energy, nothing about oil, nothing about gas, doesn't speak Ukrainian.
00:06:00.000 And he's getting all this money.
00:06:02.000 But this is why it's relevant.
00:06:05.000 And I'm not even going to go into Don Jr. having a conversation and they want to indict him and break him in terms of monies for lawyers.
00:06:13.000 And we know how that goes.
00:06:15.000 But the truth is that Joe Biden has enabled this.
00:06:19.000 He's enabled his brother, as Pam Bondi talked about at the RNC, to build homes in Saudi Arabia, government contracts.
00:06:26.000 Are you kidding me?
00:06:28.000 And he takes his son, Hunter, to China on Air Force 2.
00:06:33.000 Now, you mean to tell me he didn't know anything?
00:06:36.000 He didn't say to Hunter, gee, why are you going to China?
00:06:39.000 Gee, who are you going to meet with?
00:06:41.000 And what are you going to do there?
00:06:42.000 Do you think they were sitting there eating potato chips and watching movies?
00:06:46.000 No.
00:06:47.000 And the fact that Joe Biden has already lied about, oh, I never talked to my son about any of this.
00:06:52.000 The fact that people kept going at Joe Biden and saying, you know, you got to consider the ethics of this tells me that they are a crime family, that what has gone on with the Bidens is an indication of what they'll do to America.
00:07:06.000 And it's like the Clintons, the Clinton Foundation, nothing more than an organized criminal enterprise under the guise of a 501c3.
00:07:14.000 And they're not in this for us.
00:07:16.000 They're in it for themselves.
00:07:17.000 Donald Trump is in it for America.
00:07:19.000 He's got nothing to gain and everything to lose.
00:07:23.000 When President Trump took office, the Trump kids, you and I both know them well, Eric and Don stopped all international business deals.
00:07:30.000 When Joe Biden took the vice presidency, they started their international business deals.
00:07:35.000 Well said.
00:07:36.000 They started to see more business opportunity than ever to sell out the middle class of our country.
00:07:43.000 So Judge, tell us about this chapter, Bunker Biden.
00:07:46.000 It's perplexing.
00:07:47.000 As we are having this conversation, I think Joe Biden has now had his ninth day of no campaigning at all in the month of September.
00:07:54.000 He really believes that he can have a shelter-in-place strategy to try to become president of the United States.
00:08:01.000 Can you talk about this chapter in particular and how it relates to the broader theme of the book?
00:08:06.000 Well, you know, I was just watching Fox a few minutes ago, and someone said, Well, what's wrong with Joe Biden staying, you know, in his house to protect himself and his health?
00:08:18.000 And I said to myself, and they said then they said, because he's winning doing that.
00:08:23.000 It's almost as like people are almost like people are saying, I don't care if he works for me, it just works for him.
00:08:29.000 If this guy, once he comes out, has to stay in bed or at home for three or four days to get himself ready for the next exodus out of the house, how the heck is he going to run the country?
00:08:42.000 I mean, you know, President says Xi Jinping, you know, Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin, they're going to run circles around this idiot.
00:08:49.000 Now, the other issue is this.
00:08:52.000 There are times when Joe Biden is cognitive and he is very lucid.
00:08:58.000 And when he debated Bernie Sanders, I remember saying, Janine, don't underestimate this guy.
00:09:06.000 And then two days later, if it came out two days later, next time he's like, you know, what is it?
00:09:14.000 In the pool with pop chart or popcorn and razors and, you know, what was it in the pool?
00:09:20.000 He's talking about.
00:09:21.000 Oh, yeah, he likes kids coming up his lap and he got corn pop.
00:09:24.000 It's like, I always like corn pop.
00:09:26.000 Jeez.
00:09:27.000 Like corn pop.
00:09:28.000 But yeah, and that's where he goes.
00:09:30.000 And so you say to yourself, now think about this.
00:09:33.000 I'm not a medical doctor.
00:09:35.000 How is it that one day you can be smacked right on it, loose and clear, and then you disappear for a few days?
00:09:43.000 Is it, you know, what happens to your psyche, to your physique?
00:09:50.000 And I'll leave it at that.
00:09:54.000 All right, everybody, you're probably hungry right now.
00:09:57.000 So there's only one solution, meat.

00:11:44.000 You and I both know the president.
00:11:45.000 He's a game time player.
00:11:47.000 The most amount of pressure is applied when it's the highest stakes.
00:11:50.000 That's when President Trump does the best, whether it be a State of the Union address, whether it be a meeting with a foreign diplomat, no matter what it is, when it's the big moment, that's when President Trump steps up.
00:12:00.000 Yeah, he is a Tom Brady type player.
00:12:02.000 When it's all in the line, he makes it happen.
00:12:04.000 So, Judge.
00:12:05.000 He's a patriot, too.
00:12:06.000 Oh, he loves his country.
00:12:08.000 Absolutely.
00:12:08.000 So, Judge, you have a chapter here in the book called Escaping New York.
00:12:12.000 When I first started Turning Point USA, I used to love to go to New York City.
00:12:16.000 It had an energy to it, it had a vibrancy.
00:12:18.000 It felt like you could achieve anything in the world.
00:12:21.000 Now, I go to New York, it feels like a dystopian nightmare and it's depressing.
00:12:26.000 I can't wait to get out.
00:12:27.000 Judge, you're a lifelong New Yorker, if I'm not mistaken, and you built a career there.
00:12:32.000 And what has happened in New York?
00:12:35.000 And are you leaving?
00:12:37.000 Are you thinking about getting out of what's happened to this once great city?
00:12:41.000 What happened to New York, Charlie, is what will happen to this country if Joe Biden gets elected.
00:12:46.000 What we're seeing across this country is like a pre-game, a petri dish of what's going to be happening if the left gets elected.
00:12:56.000 And not just, well, not just president, Charlie.
00:12:58.000 I think the people that are watching or listening to this need to understand it's your local DA, you know, it's your local state senator, it's your governor, and the president, obviously, the most important, because their goal is basically to keep us down and afraid.
00:13:16.000 And they don't care about the Constitution, they don't care about the law.
00:13:19.000 Their goal is to create a socialist society where the government gives you pittance like they did in the pandemic.
00:13:26.000 To them, that was a godsend.
00:13:28.000 And people are afraid, and we do whatever every day we watch the government tell us what we should and shouldn't do.
00:13:33.000 And then they're like out there with the mask.
00:13:35.000 You know, my favorite story about Joe Biden is, I think it was Memorial Day weekend, right?
00:13:39.000 He's been in his house for months with his wife, and he comes out to put a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier, I believe.
00:13:49.000 And it's just he and his wife.
00:13:50.000 There's no one in the vicinity.
00:13:52.000 And they're both in these huge black masks.
00:13:55.000 And I said to myself, wait a minute, they're outdoors.
00:13:57.000 There's no one near them.
00:13:59.000 They've been living together.
00:14:01.000 What's with the masks?
00:14:02.000 You know, it's a signal.
00:14:03.000 It's a virtue signal.
00:14:05.000 I care about you.
00:14:06.000 I'm going to protect you.
00:14:07.000 And I was just in North Carolina last weekend for less than 24 hours, I might add.
00:14:13.000 And, you know, I got there and wore my mask.
00:14:16.000 I mean, I'm from New York.
00:14:17.000 And they were like, you know, they were like, what are you doing?
00:14:21.000 And it is, it's almost like they've got us convinced of what we need to do when you've got their various states where people are just living free.
00:14:31.000 Look, we're adults.
00:14:32.000 We know what we need to do.
00:14:33.000 We need to wash our hands.
00:14:34.000 We need to stay clean.
00:14:35.000 We need to make sure we don't breathe in or what all that other stuff.
00:14:38.000 If you're old, you need to isolate.
00:14:41.000 But the thing about New York is, it was a citadel on the hill.
00:14:45.000 It was a city of financial, cultural, citadels, just that simple.
00:14:53.000 And you got energy from it.
00:14:54.000 And it got energy from you.
00:14:56.000 And I don't care if you were in fashion, if you were on Wall Street, if you were in politics, if you were a ballet dancer, an opera singer, or if you were just a young kid saying, you know, this is my time.
00:15:06.000 You can walk down the city in New York down the street in New York at four in the morning and enjoy yourself.
00:15:13.000 Now, I have a radio show on ABC, WABC in New York, Sunday morning.
00:15:19.000 I go in, Sunday morning.
00:15:21.000 There's a guy drinking out of a paper bag.
00:15:23.000 He's got a hoodie on.
00:15:25.000 He's drinking.
00:15:26.000 And I look down.
00:15:26.000 He has no pants on.
00:15:28.000 He has no pants on.
00:15:30.000 And he's walking down the street.
00:15:31.000 And I'm like, and I ran back in the building.
00:15:35.000 I mean, actually, I was leaving.
00:15:36.000 I was waiting for my car.
00:15:37.000 I ran in the building.
00:15:39.000 But the crime that is going on, the fact that the mayor de Blasio and all of the Democrats don't believe in law and order.
00:15:48.000 And I couldn't understand why they took umbrage.
00:15:50.000 When the president talked about law and order four years ago, I said, I'm in law enforcement.
00:15:56.000 It's in my blood for 30 years.
00:15:58.000 You know, why are they taking such umbrage at that?
00:16:01.000 The reason is because they want to break it down.
00:16:04.000 Because these protesters want to destroy our way of life.
00:16:07.000 They want to destroy our ability to say what we're saying.
00:16:10.000 If we're not politically correct, you get fired because you trigger someone at work by your very presence.
00:16:16.000 And then they want to, we can't go to church.
00:16:19.000 We can't go to a synagogue, but we can go to a casino.
00:16:21.000 We can go to the movies or we can go protest with 10,000 people because according to the Democrats, the leftists, this is your time in history.
00:16:31.000 No kidding.
00:16:32.000 How about I take care of my family?
00:16:34.000 You want to lock me up, take away my license?
00:16:36.000 This is crazy.
00:16:41.000 Look, we've got a very different kind of sponsor for this episode, the Jordan Harbinger Show, a podcast you should definitely check out since you're a fan of high-quality, fascinating podcasts hosted by interesting people.
00:16:50.000 The show covers such a wide range of topics through weekly interviews with heavy-hitting guests.
00:16:54.000 And there are a ton of episodes you'll find interesting since you're a fan of the show.
00:16:58.000 And I recommend our listeners to check out.
00:17:00.000 Jordan has somewhere he's talking to a professional art forger, someone who somehow made millions of dollars while being chased by the feds and the mafia.
00:17:07.000 Each episode is a conversation with a different fascinating guest.
00:17:10.000 And when I say there's something for everyone here, I really mean that.
00:17:12.000 In one episode, Jordan talks to a hostage negotiator from the FBI who offers techniques on how to get people to like and trust you, which sounds useful and disturbing at the same time.
00:17:20.000 Another episode tells a story of a cinematographer who discovered a lost city in the jungle and made one of the most important archaeological finds of the century.
00:17:26.000 So look, Jordan's a friend.
00:17:28.000 He gets it done.
00:17:29.000 It's very interesting content.
00:17:30.000 Jordan's always focused on pulling useful and practical insights out of his brilliant guests.
00:17:34.000 And we're not talking about pop psychology or wishy-watchy self-help here.
00:17:38.000 The episodes are loaded with bits of wisdom that you can use to legitimately change your mind and improve your life right away.
00:17:42.000 If you enjoyed this show, you'll enjoy Jordan Harbinger's show.
00:17:45.000 So it's J-O-R-D-A-N, that's Jordan, Harbinger, H-A-R-B-I-N-G-E-R show on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, wherever you listen to podcasts.
00:17:54.000 Help my friend out, Jordan Harbinger.
00:17:56.000 Check out his podcast.
00:17:57.000 They're worthwhile.
00:18:02.000 And so, Judge, you've spent your life in the criminal justice system and you've seen stone-cold killers and you've locked some of them away, the worst people in society.
00:18:12.000 And you believe and believed during your career that justice is blind, that you shouldn't say that it's if you're looting, it matters if you need the products, which is an argument that's being made in California.
00:18:25.000 Judge, I'm very worried that we have the deterioration of our legal system.
00:18:29.000 Is that a correct analysis?
00:18:31.000 Can you give us some input as someone who has served as a judge and has seen how great this system once worked and now it's being put into jeopardy?
00:18:40.000 Well, the system is falling apart.
00:18:42.000 It's coming undone.
00:18:43.000 And people like myself, I mean, I was an elected DA for 12 years.
00:18:48.000 I was an assistant DA for 15 years.
00:18:51.000 I tried cases most of my career.
00:18:52.000 I love the courtroom.
00:18:54.000 Started the first domestic violence unit in the country, first internet pedophile sting operation.
00:18:59.000 I mean, I hate crimes units too.
00:19:02.000 I was all about the victim, the victim who never chose to be a part of the criminal justice system.
00:19:07.000 But what is happening now is the focus, again, is on the criminal and unfair justice, social justice.
00:19:14.000 I don't know what social justice is.
00:19:16.000 I know what criminal justice is.
00:19:17.000 I know what victim justice is.
00:19:19.000 And what they're saying now is that, you know, we don't need to send people to jail.
00:19:24.000 Let's elect these DAs with Democrat Socialists of America money.
00:19:28.000 And they refuse to incarcerate.
00:19:30.000 They only believe in Restorative justice where the victim and the accused get together as if I'm a rape victim and I want to ever see that guy again, let alone talk to him in a room.
00:19:42.000 And, you know, kumbaya, let it go.
00:19:45.000 You cannot have an orderly society like that.
00:19:47.000 And when I ran for DA, one of the things that was, I ran as a Republican in a Democrat county, one as a county judge, one as a DA.
00:19:56.000 My message was very simple.
00:19:58.000 Westchester is a very affluent community.
00:20:00.000 It's one of the richest in the country.
00:20:02.000 If you want to keep this place affluent, successful, and you want to move here, you want kids to go to school here, you want businesses to thrive here, you better make sure I'm the DA because I'm going after crime with no holes barred.
00:20:15.000 And you can check my plea bargain record.
00:20:17.000 You can check my incarceration record.
00:20:19.000 You can check whatever record you want to check.
00:20:21.000 Check me out.
00:20:22.000 But the bottom line is your kids are going to be safe.
00:20:24.000 Your business is going to be safe.
00:20:26.000 And, you know, everything that you're doing in your life is going to be protected by me.
00:20:31.000 I'm going after anyone who goes after any of you.
00:20:35.000 That's gone now.
00:20:36.000 They call it bail reform.
00:20:37.000 That's a euphemism.
00:20:39.000 It's nothing more than the elimination of bail.
00:20:41.000 You walk in, they charge you.
00:20:44.000 And when the police finish their paperwork, cop goes out to finish the beat, whatever it is, and the criminal goes out to commit another crime.
00:20:51.000 He comes back in, they let him out.
00:20:54.000 If he's a protester, he gets money to fly to the next state and protest.
00:20:58.000 And the Kyle Rittenhouse case is a perfect example of what they're trying to do.
00:21:04.000 Everyone who went after that kid had a long criminal record.
00:21:09.000 Sex offender, strangulation, gang member.
00:21:13.000 They're looking to put us in a place where if we defend ourselves, they're either going to attack us or they're going to arrest us like they did the McCloskeys.
00:21:22.000 Well, and the Kyle Rittenhouse case, and again, I've said this.
00:21:25.000 He was charged on multiple charges, probably shouldn't have been there walking the streets.
00:21:30.000 I mean, he's 17 years old.
00:21:31.000 He made a mistake, but he was hunted down in the streets and he defended himself.
00:21:35.000 That's not first-degree murder.
00:21:37.000 It's hard to even comprehend how they come at that conclusion.
00:21:41.000 And, Judge, I'm really worried because now they're viewing the justice system through a very slanted lens where they think it should be tilted differently if you're of a different skin color, a different income level.
00:21:55.000 I was stunned to believe that Kim Fox in Chicago, and I had to double-check this with police officers I know on the ground.
00:22:02.000 She was allowing cash, she was allowing bail for first-degree murderers.
00:22:06.000 These people are getting out on bail for first-degree murder.
00:22:09.000 And they say it's bail reform.
00:22:12.000 A first-degree murderer, you're letting out with just back onto the streets.
00:22:16.000 And, Judge, correct me if I'm wrong, but it also demoralizes police officers.
00:22:21.000 They're less likely to go arrest and they're less likely to go into those tough neighborhoods.
00:22:25.000 Like, why do I want to go get shot at or killed?
00:22:28.000 And it breaks apart the entire civilization is really what it does.
00:22:33.000 And so, Judge, are you seeing Democrats?
00:22:37.000 I hate to use it too political terms.
00:22:39.000 Are you seeing people that used to just be kind of on the left that are starting to recognize and realize in the New York greater area that this is something that is very dangerous, especially with the de Blasio kind of takeover?
00:22:51.000 Yeah, you would think that with de Blasio and the takedown of New York City, that there would be Democrats who would say the tax base is leaving New York.
00:23:00.000 Stores are not being protected.
00:23:02.000 Police are being told to stand down.
00:23:04.000 And worse than that, police are being targeted by the district attorney.
00:23:07.000 I got a hold of an internal memo where he said to them, basically, you know, we want to let the protesters go with an ACD.
00:23:14.000 And if they have any complaints against the cops, we're going to consider police brutality charges against the cops.
00:23:20.000 City council, that was an internal memo that I got.
00:23:22.000 The cops, on the other hand, are being told you cannot touch the accused, the suspect per and his diaphragm or here or there.
00:23:30.000 If they get into a tussle, they're going to touch that area.
00:23:33.000 So they're kind of like, I'm going to call, you know, I'm going to call the sergeant and then the captain and then the lieutenant, or I'm not going to go anywhere.
00:23:40.000 But to add to it, they took out the street crime unit, what we used to call it, the anti-crime unit.
00:23:46.000 And so the criminals are emboldened.
00:23:48.000 Here's the bottom line: the bottom line is: New York City is going back to the 80s.
00:23:53.000 It has lost the luster that you described.
00:23:56.000 And, you know, people are buying guns.
00:23:59.000 Women are buying guns.
00:24:00.000 Women in the suburbs are buying guns to answer your direct question about whether or not they're going to recognize Trump will protect them.
00:24:08.000 Body armor purchases are up by 80% in New York City.
00:24:12.000 Body armor.
00:24:14.000 So we're at a very critical time.
00:24:16.000 You know, I don't have to tell you, I think you do a fabulous job wherever you go.
00:24:20.000 I mean, you just have the facts, the statistics, you know what you're talking about.
00:24:24.000 And I like that you stay calm.
00:24:26.000 I mean, you really are calm.
00:24:28.000 And when they come at you, I love watching you.
00:24:30.000 I do.
00:24:30.000 Thank you.
00:24:31.000 You're great.
00:24:31.000 Well, thank you.
00:24:32.000 And everything you do is great.
00:24:33.000 Well, thank you.
00:24:34.000 And you're amazing too.
00:24:35.000 And that's why everyone should go buy your book.
00:24:38.000 Look, we have so many American heroes in our country, and we need to support them.
00:24:42.000 And if you're one of those heroes, I'm sure that you struggle with where to find the gear to get your job done.
00:24:48.000 Paying out of pocket for gear, you need to do your job is a problem.
00:24:51.000 Hunting for military or first responder discounts has historically required going from one website to another, creating multiple accounts and logins to make purchases and jumping through various hoops to verify your service.
00:25:02.000 Don't you wish there was one place you could visit that had carefully crafted selection of deals for military and first responders in one spot?
00:25:08.000 Big general retailers don't care about you and your sacrifices, so as long as you're just hitting the add to cart button.
00:25:15.000 So go to GovX.
00:25:16.000 It's GovX.
00:25:17.000 It's a great website.
00:25:18.000 Their work is direct.
00:25:20.000 They work directly with brands to negotiate the best prices possible because you deserve the gear you need at the prices you've earned.
00:25:25.000 Plus, you can trust that the gear you're ordering is 100% authentic direct from the manufacturer.
00:25:29.000 A huge collection of gear and apparel from popular brands, all in one convenient location.
00:25:34.000 GovX honors your service and gives back to your communities.
00:25:36.000 GovX was built to give back to the men and women who serve our country and communities.
00:25:40.000 That's why every month, GovX supports a nonprofit serving the military, first responder, or law enforcement community.
00:25:45.000 So if you're an American of service, a current or former member of the military, firefighting, frontline medical, or law enforcement communities, or the emergency medical, join GovX for free and enjoy community honors and gives back to patriots like you.
00:25:56.000 So right now, you go to govx.com, use the promo code Kirk, govx.com, promo code Kirk.
00:26:04.000 I completely agree with the New York part of the New York City part of it.
00:26:08.000 I have a friend who lives in the financial district in the southern tip of Manhattan, and he said every night for the last eight nights between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., there's been a shakedown or someone being held up in the alley.
00:26:18.000 This is the financial district.
00:26:20.000 I mean, that used to be news that would that it used to be news that people up on 84th Street would be talking about.
00:26:26.000 If one person in Manhattan did that, they'd find you and arrest you instantaneously.
00:26:31.000 Now it's a daily occurrence, and there's so many reasons for this.
00:26:35.000 Andrew Cuomo is to blame.
00:26:37.000 Bill de Blasio is to blame, most specifically.
00:26:40.000 And look, I'm not a fan of Bloomberg, but Bloomberg did not undo a lot of the Giuliani stuff, at least when it came to some of the police reforms.
00:26:48.000 He did not, he held the line on a lot of it.
00:26:50.000 Now he recanted it later.
00:26:52.000 But de Blasio has taken New York in such a just self-destructive direction.
00:26:58.000 So, Judge, I also, do you want to comment on that before I?
00:27:01.000 Yeah, and he's got another year and four months to do it before the next person comes in.
00:27:06.000 And God forbid what that city is going to look like in the next four years.
00:27:10.000 And what's really sad is that the rich and the elite in New York, they're going to be okay.
00:27:16.000 They'll go to the Hamptons.
00:27:17.000 They'll hire private security.
00:27:19.000 It is the working class of New York that are just going to be suffering under this incredibly just, it's a sad and depressing pattern of events in New York.
00:27:30.000 It is sad.
00:27:31.000 So, Judge, I want to shift gears a little bit because you mentioned something early on in the episode that I've been thinking a lot about.
00:27:37.000 And I was actually just thinking about it last night, and it's really been bothering me.
00:27:40.000 You mentioned that the president was spied on illegally with the FISA court.
00:27:44.000 We are now in late September.
00:27:47.000 Where are Durham's indictments?
00:27:49.000 Is there something that we can be expecting?
00:27:53.000 I told people to keep their expectations low, but are we going to get anything before the election?
00:27:59.000 You know, I don't have any idea, Charlie.
00:28:02.000 And, you know, I ran into Bill Barr in Washington yesterday and I said to him, so when?
00:28:09.000 He said, you'll know.
00:28:10.000 You know, look, I respect Bill Barr.
00:28:12.000 I think he's a smart guy.
00:28:14.000 You know, Durham is supposed to be a pit bull and all that.
00:28:18.000 You know, if I give up on the system, Charlie, that I gave three decades to, I ran for office five times.
00:28:24.000 I mean, you know, running for office in New York is a blood spoiler.
00:28:28.000 Take it from me.
00:28:29.000 And I got all the scars to prove it.
00:28:32.000 And if I were to say I'm giving up, then I would have to give up on my whole career.
00:28:37.000 And I'm not ready to do that.
00:28:39.000 I pray that there is something that's done because Americans want to know that the justice system works for everyone.
00:28:46.000 And, you know, in addition to this book, Don't Lie to Me, I wrote a book called He Kill Them All about Robert Durst.
00:28:52.000 And he got away with it for many years in New York.
00:28:55.000 He was a serial murderer because his father was one of the scions of real estate in New York City, Durst.
00:29:05.000 And when I went after him, man, they threw everything at me but the kitchen sink.
00:29:10.000 And, you know, they have the money to make the motions to, you know, sway public opinion.
00:29:15.000 And it's very sad.
00:29:16.000 The rich get away with things that other people might not.
00:29:20.000 And I tried very hard as a DA not to do that in my office.
00:29:24.000 And we didn't.
00:29:25.000 Well, Judge, you did an amazing job and you have done an amazing job.
00:29:28.000 I'm with you, though.
00:29:29.000 I don't want to lose faith in our justice system because it is the greatest in the world.
00:29:32.000 And due process, cross-examination of witnesses, a jury of your peers.
00:29:36.000 This is a system that is built in common law and built in the defense, most importantly, of the innocent, where you're innocent until proven guilty.
00:29:43.000 This is a system that has worked.
00:29:45.000 But I'm going to be honest, Judge, if they're going to continue to indict people like Bannon and Stone and D'Souza, I'm not saying they did nothing wrong.
00:29:52.000 That is not my opinion.
00:29:53.000 And they're going to leave Brennan and Clapper and Comey and Strzok and Page untouched after just the mountain of evidence that we have seen against them.
00:30:03.000 It's horrible.
00:30:04.000 And again, the difference is that a lot of these people that I just mentioned, they were private citizens when they were doing whatever it was they were doing.
00:30:11.000 These are people in the highest levels of authority of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or the intelligence agencies.
00:30:20.000 And if that power goes unchecked, forget it.
00:30:23.000 I mean, that justice system is a very, very dangerous road to go on.
00:30:28.000 So, Judge, the book is again called Don't Lie to Me.
00:30:31.000 Any other takeaways from the book you want our audience to know about?
00:30:34.000 There it is right there.
00:30:35.000 Don't lie to me.
00:30:36.000 I'm encouraging everyone to go pick up a copy.
00:30:38.000 Any other takeaways or pieces of information you want to share about the book that we didn't get to cover?
00:30:43.000 The book, when I was in law school, I was on law review, and I don't say that very often.
00:30:48.000 In fact, I probably haven't said it in the last 20, 30 years.
00:30:51.000 But there are footnotes in the book.
00:30:53.000 And the reason I reference that is you get into an argument with someone.
00:30:57.000 The footnotes are all in here.
00:30:58.000 You know, I'm tired of people and the lies.
00:31:01.000 That's why I wrote Don't Lie to Me.
00:31:02.000 And stop trying to steal our freedoms from whether it's getting a gun, going to church, going to work, all of those things that we all want to do.
00:31:10.000 But the footnotes are in here.
00:31:11.000 When you have an argument with someone, just go to the book, you know, and you'll hear my voice in this book.
00:31:17.000 It's all me ranting.
00:31:20.000 You're a great American judge.
00:31:21.000 Thank you for all you do for our country.
00:31:22.000 And everyone, go pick up a copy.
00:31:25.000 Don't lie to me right now.
00:31:26.000 Let's get on the New York Times bestseller list.
00:31:29.000 Thank you, Charlie.
00:31:30.000 Good luck to you in Turning Point.
