00:01:35.000 That's why we are here.
00:01:38.000 Hello, everybody, to this special episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:41.000 With us right now is my pastor, Rob McCoy.
00:01:43.000 Rob, welcome back.
00:01:44.000 Thanks, buddy.
00:01:45.000 And then joining us remotely is Bryce Setty, the great Bryce.
00:01:48.000 And Bryce, I don't know if you've ever been on our program.
00:01:51.000 So welcome to our not yet.
00:01:52.000 So here we go.
00:01:53.000 Thank you, sir.
00:01:54.000 And Steve Schneider, who is a great American, and we're honored to have all of you guys.
00:01:59.000 And we're kind of talk about something important that is local in our focus, but national in nature.
00:02:06.000 Absolutely.
00:02:07.000 And so, however you guys want to take it, Rob, do you want to start?
00:02:10.000 And then we can kind of...
00:02:11.000 Yeah, let me do my best to frame it.
00:02:13.000 And then I know Bryce and Steve will be able to add all kinds of insight to it.
00:02:18.000 In our community, the Canejo Unified School District, CVUSD, there's two newspapers in the Canejo Valley where I reside, and as does Bryce and Steve.
00:02:28.000 These two newspapers, one is The Guardian, the other is The Acorn.
00:02:31.000 The Guardian did a paper, did an article called Third Grade Teacher Promotes Gender Confusion in the Classroom.
00:02:39.000 And it was an article writing on behalf of Steve Schneider, who's on the program with us, who was standing in defense of his third grade daughter, who was told by the teacher to, now these are the new pronouns of this fellow student in your class, and this is a book I want to read to you on transgender, and then expose the children to a video without parental permission.
00:03:01.000 Steve took issue with it.
00:03:02.000 The Canejo Guardian on his behalf wrote a very, very clear and concise article.
00:03:10.000 Everything in it was true.
00:03:11.000 Good reporting.
00:03:13.000 The Acorn, which is a defender of, you know, what I would say, the California Teachers Association and the district itself, took great offense to it.
00:03:22.000 Then the news channels came out, CBS, they did a whole thing on it.
00:03:25.000 And then there was graffiti at that elementary school, and they blamed Steve Schneider for it.
00:03:30.000 The police came to his house.
00:03:31.000 He'll tell you more about that.
00:03:32.000 He wasn't even there, so it was crazy.
00:03:35.000 I'm wondering if they're going to arrest the people that said they witnessed him doing it, which is why the police searched his home to begin with.
00:03:41.000 Filing a false police report.
00:03:42.000 Exactly.
00:03:43.000 And so we've had people show up in the school board meetings.
00:03:47.000 They've been dismissed.
00:03:48.000 They've just been relegated.
00:03:51.000 This is the other one.
00:03:52.000 The superintendent of schools wrote a letter to every parent in the district blaming the newspaper, The Guardian, and saying we were the ones responsible for the graffiti.
00:04:03.000 And then Joel Kirkpatrick, who is the Kilpatrick, he's the one who is the editor for this Guardian, wrote a great response.
00:04:13.000 And so that's where we are.
00:04:15.000 And tonight there's a school board meeting.
00:04:17.000 And it is tonight being June 21st for whenever it airs.
00:04:20.000 But it's going to go on beyond that.
00:04:22.000 Yeah, of course.
00:04:22.000 We're just going to keep fighting this.
00:04:23.000 So that's the outline.
00:04:24.000 Let these guys tell you more about it.
00:04:26.000 Bryce and Steve, you guys take it how you want, and we'll let you take it from there.
00:04:31.000 Yeah, so let me just add one thing because the book is called Call Me Max.
00:04:38.000 And the book, the kind of underlying premise of it is this, you know, this kid has got, you know, gender confusion.
00:04:46.000 And one of the lines in it is that your parents guessed at your gender and they guessed wrong.
00:04:55.000 And so a lot of this has to do with the parental side of it.
00:04:59.000 And I want Steve to really weigh in on that because they completely ignored his concerns.
00:05:05.000 And Steve, talk about that a little bit.
00:05:07.000 You know, there was no communication between the school and me at all.
00:05:11.000 Not even afterwards when they sent her home with that day.
00:05:14.000 You know, we found out from my daughter, who's eight years old.
00:05:17.000 And she clearly had questions.
00:05:20.000 We didn't know how to answer that.
00:05:22.000 It was, you know, I was blindsided.
00:05:24.000 I'm sure everyone could agree that a parent should be included in these types of matters.
00:05:28.000 You know, outside of reading, writing, and arithmetic, we got to know ahead of time.
00:05:33.000 And that's what this is about, parental rights.
00:05:35.000 So let me just make sure that I'm tracking with this.
00:05:38.000 So you have a third grader who is like either nine or 10 or 11, if I'm remembering?
00:05:44.000 Eight.
00:05:46.000 Got it.
00:05:47.000 So a third grader who is by all legal definitions, you know, innocent from these topics, goes to class.
00:05:58.000 Somebody declares that they're transitioning, but the teacher then decides not to just let that be, but then show a book or a video.
00:06:07.000 Is that right, Bryce and Steve, called Call Me Max?
00:06:10.000 Is that right?
00:06:11.000 So inserting extra curriculum unapproved by parents that then sparks all these other questions and basically cutting in line for where a parent otherwise would be having these very mature conversations with their child.
00:06:25.000 Am I tracking that correctly?
00:06:27.000 Pretty much, but we're missing an important point I want to bring up.
00:06:30.000 Before the teacher decided that she was going to show the video, she went to the principal of Maple Elementary School and asked if she needed permission to show the video.
00:06:42.000 And the principal, from the way I understand it, from what was explained to my wife, is that the principal told her, no, you don't need permission to go ahead and show the video.
00:06:52.000 Wait, so the teacher actually did something right.
00:06:55.000 The teacher went out of their way.
00:06:56.000 I want to say something right, but the teacher said, wait a second, will I get in trouble for showing this?
00:07:00.000 And was given a green light.
00:07:02.000 Is that correct?
00:07:03.000 That's correct.
00:07:04.000 And this teacher I've known through two children now at that school, and I'm actually pretty shocked she did this without communicating with us.
00:07:12.000 And go ahead, Bryce.
00:07:14.000 And when Steve went to the principal and addressed this, the principal turned around and walked away.
00:07:21.000 She ran away.
00:07:23.000 I approached her after a few days.
00:07:25.000 I told my wife, I said, you know, can you handle this?
00:07:27.000 And let me know what happens.
00:07:28.000 But there was no communication from the school.
00:07:30.000 I mean, you would think that there would be some type of communication and there was none.
00:07:35.000 And then to my disbelief, when I confronted her about it and said, you know, hey, what is going on?
00:07:41.000 It was short.
00:07:42.000 She denied everything.
00:07:43.000 She ran towards the office and that was the end of it.
00:07:46.000 Rob, you have a thought?
00:07:47.000 Yeah, I just want to set the stage.
00:07:49.000 Now, folks would try to say, oh, he's a member of your congregation.
00:07:52.000 This is all part of God Speaker.
00:07:54.000 Steve has never stepped foot, except for this last Sunday, has never stepped foot in our church.
00:07:59.000 You're Jewish, right?
00:08:00.000 I mean, not that that's an issue.
00:08:02.000 It's just we're Christian, Jewish.
00:08:04.000 I mean, it wasn't like God Speak was your fellowship, but we've come alongside the community and our neighbors defending their right to be parents to their children.
00:08:13.000 Amen.
00:08:13.000 And that's where Steve has found a voice.
00:08:15.000 And I just, I want to commend him.
00:08:17.000 He's one of the bravest guys I've ever met.
00:08:19.000 So that's where this story gets interesting, in my opinion.
00:08:23.000 It's notable that they were putting this into a third grader's classroom, totally violating parental notification and parental rights.
00:08:31.000 But then, Steve, then you fell victim to what so many other parents listening to this are afraid of, and so many other parents listening to this have also fallen victim to, which is the snares of this mob, this cartel almost.
00:08:46.000 Talk about what happened next.
00:08:49.000 You know, I mean, it goes pretty, it goes pretty wild.
00:08:53.000 After the paper came out, there was a lot of pushback in the community, but within days of that, there was some graffiti put on the school.
00:09:05.000 Someone wrote Perb's work here.
00:09:07.000 And when I found out about it, it was, you know, pretty late at night.
00:09:10.000 And I was, you know, upset.
00:09:12.000 This is my daughter's school.
00:09:13.000 We don't need this type of thing happening over there.
00:09:15.000 And, you know, it's just, it's not the right way of going about things.
00:09:19.000 I think everyone could agree with that.
00:09:20.000 But apparently the police department received some anonymous calls saying that I was the suspect and that they saw me do it.
00:09:29.000 And somewhere around the time CBS showed up at Maple Elementary and around my corners, I got a call from the detectives.
00:09:39.000 And I told them right off the bat, I said, you know, I don't want to waste time.
00:09:42.000 Just come over to my house and we'll talk.
00:09:43.000 So they came in.
00:09:46.000 They basically told me I was a suspect.
00:09:48.000 They're following up on leads and I give them access to all my electronics, my ring cameras.
00:09:55.000 I said, you could have anything you want.
00:09:57.000 I'm not, you don't need a warrant.
00:09:58.000 I know better to talk to you, but you know what?
00:10:00.000 Just come inside because I'm innocent.
00:10:03.000 But they went through every room, my garage, my house.
00:10:06.000 And I think I proved my innocence that day.
00:10:10.000 I've spoken with them since then, and they're actually a good group of guys.
00:10:13.000 I do appreciate everything that they did.
00:10:15.000 And so now this has been kind of elevated to the school board level.
00:10:19.000 Can Bryce or Rob, can you fill us in on kind of where that is?
00:10:22.000 So a number of citizens showed up at the school board meeting.
00:10:26.000 Bryce will go into greater detail.
00:10:28.000 I just want to add one more aspect to this.
00:10:30.000 There's Dr. Shawnee Anderson, a psychologist who works with trauma, and she's an amazing person.
00:10:37.000 And she wrote a medical outline in defense of Steve's position for his eight-year-old daughter, that this is detrimental to a child.
00:10:50.000 Now they've filed complaints to the board to try to get her license removed.
00:10:57.000 Her doctor's license?
00:10:58.000 Yeah, her doctor's license removed.
00:10:59.000 That's how they work.
00:11:00.000 It's how they work.
00:11:01.000 It's just brutal what they're doing, and they're in collusion every single step of the way.
00:11:05.000 So go ahead and add some more nuance to it with the school board meeting that's already happened and the one that's about to happen.
00:11:15.000 Well, let me add to that.
00:11:17.000 It's the Cano Valley, I think they're called the Unity Project.
00:11:22.000 That's actually the ones that filed a complaint against Sine.
00:11:25.000 And all of this stuff has been done under the guise of unity, including what the actual superintendent of schools wrote up.
00:11:34.000 You know, that was his title.
00:11:35.000 You know, we're all about unity and all that stuff.
00:11:37.000 As he then excoriated everyone who is not advocating for the abuse and gender confusion of kids.
00:11:44.000 Incredible.
00:11:46.000 And so I suppose the question is, Steve, you know, this is more of a personal question, but it might be too early for you to answer this.
00:11:53.000 Do you regret speaking out against this at this point?
00:11:57.000 No chance.
00:11:57.000 No chance.
00:11:58.000 I'm not upset at all.
00:12:01.000 I think everyone listening today would agree with me.
00:12:04.000 The second our kid was born, we looked at our kids and we said, we have our own oath.
00:12:09.000 And I bet you, I'm willing to bet that everyone's oath was pretty similar.
00:12:12.000 And at some point, everyone's going to be called to duty on that oath.
00:12:15.000 And that was my day.
00:12:16.000 And so I'm standing up.
00:12:18.000 I'm going to fulfill that duty.
00:12:19.000 And listen, I know the other side is listening.
00:12:22.000 You're going to lose.
00:12:23.000 We're going to win.
00:12:24.000 And we're going to get what we want out of this.
00:12:25.000 You know, we cannot take away a parent's rights like this.
00:12:28.000 And I want to encourage you.
00:12:28.000 I love that.
00:12:29.000 What does victory look like?
00:12:31.000 Because sometimes it can feel like you're just fighting, you know, an endless kind of tornado.
00:12:36.000 It's like it's us against nature is what it feels like.
00:12:39.000 But actually, these people are super weak.
00:12:41.000 What does victory look like?
00:12:43.000 Well, let's first get the board out of there, and then we'll move on to the next boards in California.
00:12:48.000 And then once we flip this state and we put the right people in the school board to help our children avoid things like this, then we'll see where it goes from there.
00:12:57.000 But for now, victory is going to be getting rid of CVUSD board members.
00:13:01.000 Yeah.
00:13:03.000 Additionally, they think that they own our kids.
00:13:07.000 That's the big thing here is they believe that they own our children.
00:13:11.000 And what they also believe is that the majority of parents and teachers are with them, and they are not.
00:13:18.000 So victory here is getting other parents and the teachers who are afraid to stand up and guys like Steve are leading that because, you know, you have to be willing to take some of these arrows because they come in full force against you.
00:13:32.000 And you have to be very clear on what they're doing.
00:13:35.000 They are advocating for child abuse that, you know, starts with this sort of stuff and ends in chemical castration and mutilation of kids.
00:13:45.000 That's really what they are pushing here.
00:13:48.000 That's exactly right.
00:13:50.000 This is, we don't have a lot of time, but the superintendent of school sent this out to every parent in the community.
00:13:58.000 And we can have the letter available for folks to read in its entirety.
00:14:02.000 But he basically blames the newspaper, the alternative newspaper in our town, which is the one that reports well.
00:14:10.000 And he comes after it, but never addresses any with clarity, any allegations or anything with evidence towards the paper itself.
00:14:18.000 And then the editor of the Guardian, his response was tremendous.
00:14:24.000 And if we can take a second, can we just read it?
00:14:27.000 He says, to the Canejo Valley community, in response to the Canejo Guardian story, third grade teacher promotes gender confusion in classroom, CVUSD Superintendent Mark McLaughlin emailed a response apparently to all CVUSD parents and employees in which he resorted to bluster and slander because the facts are entirely against him.
00:14:45.000 McLaughlin did not even attempt to argue that the Guardian article is incorrect in any particular.
00:14:51.000 We challenge McLaughlin to point to any inaccuracy or error in our article or in any article the Guardian has published about CVUSD.
00:14:59.000 We call on McLaughlin to cease and desist making baseless statements and retract his comments, or we'll bring legal action against him personally and in his capacity as CVUSD superintendent.
00:15:09.000 The facts of the story stand undisputed.
00:15:11.000 A Maple Elementary third grade teacher whose name we elected not to publish in the first article presented a girl student to a class as a boy with a new name.
00:15:20.000 We elected not to publish the child's new name, then showed a video promoting transgenderism called Call Me Max.
00:15:26.000 As stated in the article, the Guardian sought comment from the principal, Patty Lewis, and the Parent Faculty Association and received no response from either.
00:15:33.000 The article came out because a concerned father, and that's Steve, of a child in this third grade class was so troubled that this had happened without parent permission or notification that he attended and spoke at the CVUSD school board meeting.
00:15:47.000 He requested to speak with board members, but they would not contact him.
00:15:51.000 Principal Patty Lewis and the third grade teacher were similarly dismissive, according to this father, which led him to approach the Canejo Guardian.
00:15:59.000 After verifying what had happened, we published an accurate story, which McLaughlin has not sought to challenge directly because it is true and factual.
00:16:06.000 Perhaps more importantly, McLaughlin's letter marks a turning point for CVSD schools.
00:16:11.000 The superintendent declares publicly in his own words that all students in every grade level in any class, in any CVUSD school, can at any time be taught transgenderism for the sake of inclusion.
00:16:22.000 And parents don't need to be notified that this is happening.
00:16:25.000 This is coming from a primary public servant over the area's public school children.
00:16:30.000 And the article goes on: it's accurate, and yet it seems as though the CVUSD thinks that there isn't going to be any backlash and that they control the major paper.
00:16:40.000 But we just basically said, Charlie, if we can get national attention on this like we did in the Loudoun County, guys like Steve, that man's brave, and I want to stand behind him.
00:16:51.000 It's just remarkable what he's done, and he deserves accolades and support from the people.
00:16:55.000 Do you anticipate, Bryce or Steve, a good amount of people showing up to school boards now and really caring about this because of it?
00:17:01.000 Or what's your read on that?
00:17:05.000 Well, you know, there's been a big call out for support for Steve, and people are showing up like crazy, which is awesome.
00:17:11.000 On the other side of it, you know, there's a bunch of agitators that are declaring that they're going to show up.
00:17:16.000 The local anti-group and those knuckleheads are saying that they're going to be there.
00:17:22.000 So, you know, we're going to hold the line and be calm and respectful and do all that we need to do in the face of these people.
00:17:31.000 But I think it's going to get pretty heated.
00:17:34.000 Yeah, I definitely agree.
00:17:35.000 I think that there's going to be an overwhelming amount of support tonight.
00:17:38.000 And I think the school board is going to have to reconsider their position at this point.
00:17:43.000 Inclusion means everybody, and they excluded the parents.
00:17:46.000 And we're not going to stand.
00:17:47.000 Yeah.
00:17:48.000 So, Bryce, you and I were texting when this was bubbling up a couple weeks ago, and you said you were getting kind of competing pieces of advice.
00:17:56.000 And I told you, you got to fight punchback twice as hard.
00:17:59.000 What have you kind of learned through this kind of for other parents that are maybe in the middle or on the edge of publicizing or standing against this kind of nonsense in public schools?
00:18:11.000 Yeah, so first, listen, my natural inclination, I'm a combat sports athlete, right?
00:18:16.000 So my natural inclination is to lean in and press in and fight these things.
00:18:20.000 But I want to be, like Rob says, dangerous and wise, you know, and we have to strike the appropriate tones of these things.
00:18:26.000 But the real thing here is we need other people to be safe and know that they can participate and should push back because they don't own our kids.
00:18:37.000 And the teachers and the parents need to see the example.
00:18:41.000 Once you do stand up, look, these people are wimps at the end of the day.
00:18:45.000 And in the last school board meeting, the people that were trying to dox all of the people that were supporting Steve and tried to lay out the people that are behind the alternative paper here and naming names and all that stuff, they were crying at the school board meeting.
00:19:02.000 We need to stand up and we need to do it bravely because they will back down.
00:19:09.000 They had the audacity to call Steve a Nazi.
00:19:13.000 His family survived Auschwitz.
00:19:14.000 Is that correct, Steve?
00:19:16.000 My family escaped various parts of Austria, different parts of Germany, and some didn't.
00:19:24.000 But yeah, no, I'm a first-generation Israeli American on my dad's side.
00:19:28.000 So to call me a Nazi is pretty unintelligent.
00:19:32.000 Yeah, well, their ideas don't stand up to any scrutiny.
00:19:36.000 And so that's all that they have.
00:19:38.000 That's all that they can do is attack and say silly things like that.
00:19:43.000 They blanket the parking lot of the church with flyers, while we're in worshiping.
00:19:48.000 They're out there saying, you know, racist, fascist, bigot, on and on and on.
00:19:54.000 And they just, and then they're sending out postcards all throughout the community with the same accusations simply because you're standing on behalf of parental rights and you're not bowing to something that is chemical castration for children and exposing them.
00:20:09.000 And they have no right to do this.
00:20:11.000 And yet they're, and they're public servants and they don't want any light on this.
00:20:16.000 And so if they're not going to allow Steve and other parents to have a public hearing, then we're just going to take it nationally.
00:20:23.000 That's why I'm, again, Charlie, grateful to you that folks across the nation will pick this up and we'll get some national exposure to it.
00:20:30.000 Bless you.
00:20:31.000 I say you're welcome by sneezing.
00:20:33.000 Yeah.
00:20:34.000 Well, you did it twice.
00:20:35.000 That's cool.
00:20:36.000 Yeah, exactly.
00:20:37.000 So, but let's talk about like the nationalization of this, meaning the national implications.
00:20:42.000 There's people in Florida right now listening to this, people in Virginia, people in Wisconsin, and they're debating whether or not they should stand and fight.
00:20:51.000 And they have to also realize this is a long fight.
00:20:53.000 This is going to take a fair amount of struggle.
00:20:57.000 What would your advice be to them, first, Rob, and then we can throw it back to them?
00:21:01.000 It's perfect timing on the question because as I was telling you about Dr. Shawnee Anderson, and they've come after her and they're trying to get her license and they've filed a complaint.
00:21:10.000 And she just said, what should I do?
00:21:13.000 And how do I handle this?
00:21:15.000 And I said, civility is not in their dictionary.
00:21:17.000 And your question is, what do I do?
00:21:19.000 And I just said, you do what is right.
00:21:21.000 And she understood that.
00:21:23.000 And I said, look, Shawnee, to everyone is given a measure of faith.
00:21:26.000 And what is it?
00:21:27.000 You know, we say this about, say, police officers or the like, where it's pensions over conviction.
00:21:38.000 You're more concerned with your pension than you are with what's doing what's right.
00:21:42.000 Well, I said the same thing to Shawnee.
00:21:44.000 You're going to maintain a license, a medical license over an organization that is allowing this to continue in the lives of children.
00:21:54.000 Is that license now valid?
00:21:56.000 Is it worth anything to you?
00:21:57.000 You're doing what's right.
00:21:59.000 You know medically, you've been educated and trained.
00:22:02.000 But, you know, I'm not going to tell you how to walk that.
00:22:04.000 Well, to her credit, she's one of the bravest people I've ever met.
00:22:07.000 She's standing strong.
00:22:08.000 It doesn't matter.
00:22:09.000 She's counted the cost.
00:22:10.000 And I think everyone has to look at that and say, this is more valuable to me, the freedom of my children and my grandchildren, than my temporary, you know, what it would be, comfort or safety or security.
00:22:24.000 That really isn't any of those things.
00:22:27.000 They're just causing you to compromise.
00:22:29.000 And so the bravery of Shawnee, the bravery of Steve, they're putting it on the line and it's going to come at a cost.
00:22:36.000 But listen, whatever that cost is, it pales in comparison to the celestial article of freedom that is the most valuable thing you can give your children.
00:22:44.000 Do not cower.
00:22:46.000 Don't cower.
00:22:47.000 Do your job.
00:22:49.000 No more supreme cowardice is permitted.
00:22:51.000 It's not like we signed up to do this.
00:22:54.000 I didn't want to go before the judge on contempt charges because the governor said the church is non-essential.
00:22:59.000 He has no right.
00:23:01.000 And I didn't, that's not what I wanted to do in life.
00:23:03.000 I don't enjoy this.
00:23:05.000 And Shawnee doesn't enjoy it.
00:23:06.000 And Steve doesn't enjoy it.
00:23:07.000 We didn't sign up for this.
00:23:09.000 But to say that they're courageous, but you can't do it, all you're simply stating is cowardice.
00:23:15.000 You can do it.
00:23:16.000 Anyone can do it.
00:23:18.000 You're just not valuing freedom as much as you are your temporary security.
00:23:23.000 And you're not looking at generations to come.
00:23:25.000 It's time Americans stand and do what's necessary for this.
00:23:29.000 But Bryce and Steve, you guys might get nasty looks at your kids' soccer games.
00:23:35.000 So, I mean, how are parents supposed to deal with that?
00:23:38.000 People have looked at me sideways before.
00:23:40.000 That's okay.
00:23:41.000 But I would like to say this to parents out there watching and listening right now, especially the people in my community.
00:23:47.000 There's been a lot of support.
00:23:49.000 I think there's been more support than negativity.
00:23:51.000 I think it's time.
00:23:52.000 I think we're kind of ready to say something.
00:23:55.000 And there's people that are afraid.
00:23:57.000 I know you're afraid.
00:23:58.000 I was afraid.
00:23:59.000 The reality is, if you don't do something, the question is, what are they actually hiding from us beyond this?
00:24:05.000 And what's next?
00:24:06.000 If you don't say something and stand up for your kids, I'll go as far as I can.
00:24:11.000 But at some point, you know, you got to jump in at some point.
00:24:15.000 What does that mean?
00:24:15.000 What does that look like for some people?
00:24:17.000 Maybe vote in the right direction, get the right school board in place.
00:24:20.000 And if you won't stand and you'll do that, then, you know, hey, we still have your back.
00:24:24.000 Thank you.
00:24:25.000 But for those of you who are willing to stand and fight with me, I'll fight with you.
00:24:29.000 Yeah.
00:24:30.000 And I'll add for years we've been hostage to some of these evil ideologies and people have not stood up and fought because they thought that, okay, I guess this is what we just have to go along with.
00:24:41.000 And we have to stop wanting to be liked by people who are promoting evil.
00:24:47.000 Now, I don't care to be liked anyway.
00:24:49.000 I mean, I'd prefer to, but I don't really need to be liked.
00:24:52.000 But courageous is contagious.
00:24:54.000 So guys like Steve, you know, need to be standing up.
00:24:57.000 And the more Steve's we have, you know, that take some of those first arrows and expose the weakness of these people and the fact that the only thing that they have to add is to call you a Nazi or a bigot or a racist or a whatever transphobe.
00:25:11.000 You know, once that gets exposed, then more people will come along and say, get out of here with that ridiculous stuff.
00:25:17.000 I'll never be ashamed for standing for my children ever.
00:25:21.000 So Bryce, I'm interested in one wrinkle of this.
00:25:24.000 If I'm not mistaken, you homeschool your children.
00:25:26.000 Is that correct?
00:25:28.000 We do.
00:25:28.000 Yeah.
00:25:29.000 So then why do you care about this?
00:25:30.000 I mean, I hear this all the time.
00:25:32.000 People say, I homeschool my kids.
00:25:33.000 I don't care about my public school.
00:25:34.000 It's a waste of time.
00:25:36.000 Tell us.
00:25:36.000 Well, because I care for other people's children.
00:25:39.000 You know, I am blessed that we've been able to homeschool.
00:25:42.000 And that's not a reality for everyone.
00:25:44.000 You know, I know that, Charlie, you're working on some awesome things that is trying to make it a reality for more people.
00:25:50.000 We're working on it.
00:25:51.000 That's right.
00:25:52.000 Yeah.
00:25:52.000 And we all need to come together to provide opportunities for people who have to, you know, their only alternative a lot of people feel is to put them in public school.
00:26:01.000 And I think it's, you know, Dennis Prager says this about universities, that you're playing Russian roulette with your kids, sending them to a university where all chambers are filled except for one.
00:26:13.000 And the truth is, is that now they brought this down into public schools, and they're conditioning these kids very young into just, you know, terrible confusion and evil thoughts.
00:26:26.000 We care about truth and we care about other people's kids.
00:26:28.000 That's right.
00:26:29.000 And so, yeah, it's just fascinating, Bryce, because a lot of our audience says, you know, I'm taking my kids out.
00:26:34.000 I don't care about the school boards.
00:26:36.000 But Rob, if you're a Christian, which if you're homeschooling, you're probably a Christian, but that's not always true, but probably we're called to be salt and light.
00:26:45.000 You can't just not care.
00:26:46.000 Is that correct?
00:26:46.000 Yeah.
00:26:47.000 I mean, the Bible says Jesus was asked the question, what's the greatest commandment?
00:26:51.000 He says, love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.
00:26:54.000 And love your neighbors yourself.
00:26:55.000 And on these two commandments hang all the law of the prophets.
00:26:58.000 Love your neighbors yourself.
00:27:01.000 I want for parents in the Kanejo the same I want for their kids the same I want for mine.
00:27:05.000 I want them to have freedom.
00:27:06.000 I want their purity to be protected.
00:27:08.000 I want their innocence to be protected.
00:27:09.000 I want truth to be able to be known instead of learning learning, teaching them how to learn instead of indoctrinating them.
00:27:16.000 We educate them.
00:27:18.000 And instead of them being a pawn for a social experiment, we protect them from that.
00:27:24.000 And as we're watching, you know, FDA approval of this and that, all these other things, all this stuff coming down on our kids, we're going to stand in the gap on their behalf.
00:27:33.000 And that's what every Christian should do.
00:27:35.000 The Bible commands that, you know, Matthew 16, 18, upon this rock, I'll build my public square, my assembly, my city hall, stepping in to that realm of culture that decides the welfare, which politics, like you and I both know, highest form of community, morality and sociability.
00:27:55.000 We contend for the welfare of our city and the school.
00:27:59.000 That's the generation.
00:28:00.000 What's taught in this generation of children will be the politics of the next.
00:28:05.000 And we have to do this.
00:28:07.000 We don't have a choice as Christians.
00:28:09.000 We've been called to love our neighbors ourselves.
00:28:12.000 And that's why it's absolutely pertinent that every Christian engage in these topics and should be at those school board meetings on behalf of our brother here, Steve, who may not go to your church and may not profess faith in what you believe, but he has found respite, strength, and encouragement from our fellowship because he's our neighbor and we love that man.
00:28:37.000 So, yeah, Steve, can you talk about that?
00:28:39.000 You know, who else has come to your support or aid outside of Godspeak?
00:28:46.000 That is a long list, but there's two that stick out the most.
00:28:50.000 And I got to say, my friend Carrie really helped me.
00:28:54.000 I was in a bad place.
00:28:55.000 I didn't know what to do.
00:28:57.000 And she's the one who inspired me to go to the next school board.
00:29:00.000 And her husband, Sean, they're amazing people.
00:29:04.000 And they've been with me every step of the way.
00:29:06.000 And I know they'll be with me to the end.
00:29:08.000 And that's victory doesn't count unless they're there with me at the same time.
00:29:12.000 But so many people have come forward.
00:29:14.000 And even today, I'm getting phone calls from people and other people in the community that have some pretty horrible stories of things that, you know, I'm pretty shocked.
00:29:23.000 And I'm certain that the truth is going to start coming out here real quick because it's bad.
00:29:27.000 But everyone in my community gives me support.
00:29:30.000 And I know when people come up to me on the street and tell me, hey, man, thank you for doing that.
00:29:34.000 And how do I get involved?
00:29:35.000 This community has my back and I have theirs.
00:29:39.000 I got to give him kudos because he came to service.
00:29:42.000 Hey, steps foot in a Christian church.
00:29:44.000 He stands up in front of the congregation, sweet as a button, but he comes on Father's Day.
00:29:49.000 I can't think of a better illustration on Father's Day than to have a dad who is willing to bear the slings and arrows of the misery of Antifa and the secular progressive left and the alpha mafia coming after him.
00:30:04.000 And there he is, just standing strong.
00:30:06.000 What a great Father's Day illustration.
00:30:08.000 He's a good dad.
00:30:09.000 Thank you.
00:30:09.000 And so, in closing, here, guys, I mean, the school is doubling down.
00:30:13.000 Is that right?
00:30:14.000 They're acting as if there's nothing wrong.
00:30:16.000 They're in charge.
00:30:17.000 Yeah.
00:30:17.000 And if they want our opinion, they'll give it to us.
00:30:20.000 Well, what's going to happen, guys?
00:30:22.000 This is the beginning of this because there are, like Steve said, and I don't know if you caught that.
00:30:27.000 There are some other really nefarious things being exposed that are coming next.
00:30:32.000 Yep.
00:30:32.000 Because other parents are coming forward with other terrible stories.
00:30:37.000 And I hope it doesn't stop.
00:30:38.000 I hope these parents start to stand up like crazy.
00:30:41.000 And also, we need the teachers too, because these teachers are not down with this.
00:30:45.000 There's some really good ones out there.
00:30:47.000 There really are.
00:30:47.000 And they've come up to me too.
00:30:49.000 And I am so happy to know that there's some good ones in there.
00:30:53.000 You know, in the beginning of this, you think that, you know, everyone's out to get your kids because something like this happens.
00:30:58.000 But I've met some really amazing educators along the way and staff.
00:31:02.000 So I hope they come forward, but that's a tough decision.
00:31:06.000 That's on them.
00:31:07.000 And the principal sent out a statement basically slandering the whole thing, right?
00:31:13.000 Slandered, slandered the other newspaper, blamed them for the graffiti as though, you know, somehow that's what caused the graffiti.
00:31:22.000 They probably did it themselves.
00:31:23.000 Yeah, there's some speculation that that's the case, and we've got folks following up on that, which is it's not surprising.
00:31:30.000 I mean, when we have Bill Federer come on and he talks about how you start a revolution and you set fire to the front of the store and sell fire extinguishers at the back of the store, yeah.
00:31:40.000 Hegelian dialectic.
00:31:41.000 But whatever they're doing, whatever their motivations are, the one thing I do know is this is bringing the community together on a topic that has been ignored.
00:31:50.000 And everyone knows it's there, but they were just hoping it'd go away and it's not.
00:31:53.000 And now these folks are brave and are standing.
00:31:56.000 And Steve's the first penguin off the iceberg.
00:31:58.000 I love it.
00:32:00.000 Any closing thoughts to our national audience, guys?
00:32:05.000 Bryce, let me qualify that.
00:32:07.000 How do we put pressure?
00:32:09.000 Do we have any numbers that they can call or anything we can do to get folks to respond?
00:32:13.000 Have you thought about that?
00:32:17.000 No, I mean, so so many of these things, although this is a national story that, you know, it's a local story, but it's a national issue.
00:32:24.000 Right.
00:32:25.000 People need to get involved and start paying attention.
00:32:29.000 I mean, that's the biggest thing that you can do is go to these school board meetings because they run these things intentionally long and they do the worst stuff at the end of these things.
00:32:40.000 They drip with contempt towards parents.
00:32:43.000 And so we need to really be a threat to them.
00:32:49.000 And I mean that in the show up sense and proclaim that they do not own our kids.
00:32:55.000 And we have to do that at the local level.
00:32:57.000 And that's why this is of national importance.
00:32:59.000 Yeah.
00:33:00.000 Amen.
00:33:01.000 I would also add, let the superintendent of schools, McLaughlin, Canejo Valley Unified School District know of your displeasure if you want to let them.
00:33:10.000 You can find those numbers.
00:33:11.000 You can dig them up.
00:33:12.000 You guys are resourceful.
00:33:13.000 Let me jump in here real quick.
00:33:15.000 Do it.
00:33:15.000 It's actually, you know, there's other, he's, in the grand scheme of things, he's not even the one to go after here.
00:33:22.000 It's the rest of the board.
00:33:23.000 It's the elected officials.
00:33:24.000 He's an appointed official.
00:33:25.000 He's appointed into that position.
00:33:27.000 So you're talking about Lisa Miller, Gorbach, drawn a blank here.
00:33:34.000 Yeah, you can look these people up.
00:33:35.000 Caneo Valley Unified School District.
00:33:38.000 Look them up because they're some really nasty folks.
00:33:41.000 I mean, I spoke at one of the meetings, and again, they drip with contempt towards the role of exactly right.
00:33:48.000 They can't stand us, not one bit.
00:33:50.000 And it really asks a question like, where do they get their money from, actually?
00:33:53.000 Yeah.
00:33:54.000 Who funds them?
00:33:55.000 Yeah, it's magical.
00:33:56.000 Whose children are they?
00:33:57.000 That's actually the most important question.
00:33:59.000 Thank you guys so much.
00:34:00.000 Really appreciate it.
00:34:01.000 We have your back 100%.
00:34:03.000 Charlie, thank you, Charlie.
00:34:05.000 I know that to be true.
00:34:06.000 I mean, I called you last night and you put this together.
00:34:08.000 God bless you.
00:34:09.000 Let's do it.
