00:01:42.000 Blake, we actually got things passed in the House yesterday, but of course, because it's D.C. and because this is America, it can't be without controversy.

00:01:54.000 And I am, of course, referencing the new bill, the Stop Insider Trading Act.

00:02:00.000 Now, this was something that President Trump had floated at the State of the Union.

00:02:04.000 Massive applause, massive populist energy behind things like this.

00:02:09.000 It is very clear the American people do not want Congress to.

00:02:13.000 Trading based on insider info, based on where the government's going to be spending money, where regulations are going, what's coming out of committee.

00:02:21.000 We do not want them using that information to then enrich themselves.

00:02:26.000 And a lot of people, all eyes were on Nancy Pelosi.

00:02:30.000 Of course, she voted against this.

00:02:31.000 But the controversy here, Blake, is that House Republicans attached aspects of the Save America Act requiring voter ID on federal elections to this.

00:02:41.000 So critics are calling this a Trojan horse, they're calling it a partisan sham.

00:02:47.000 My question is, why wouldn't you just vote for both?

00:02:49.000 Because both are very common sense pieces of legislation.

00:02:52.000 Nevertheless, it does pass, and I think this is a positive step in the right direction.

00:02:59.000 Is it everything I want the bill to be?

00:03:00.000 No, I actually think there were stronger versions of this bill.

00:03:04.000 But first reaction to it getting passed, then we'll go through some of the specifics here, Blake.

00:03:08.000 Well, I just, what I would say is, I've been around the block on this, and I don't think Republicans are going to get any kudos if they can't get a Senate to pass these things.

00:03:20.000 If they can pass a ban on stock trading, if they can pass pieces of the Save Act, both things they can do if they get rid of the filibuster to do it.

00:03:30.000 You could call it stop and save.

00:03:31.000 It sounds like a gas station.

00:03:32.000 So you pass stop, you pass save, you lower gas prices.

00:03:36.000 And that would be a pretty good message for the midterms, but they've got to actually pass it. 0.97

00:03:41.000 And I'm worried the critics are right that they attach the Save Act stuff so they can make the bill sound more good for red meat conservatives. 0.85

00:03:48.000 And then they also know it will not pass out of the Senate. 0.74

00:03:53.000 It pains me to say that only because we've been around the block all year on this.

00:03:57.000 And I guess here's my reaction.

00:03:59.000 My warning to Republicans is this that if they manage to talk about the Save Act all year, all of 2026, and then not pass it, they're going to get whacked in the midterms, and they'll deserve to get whacked in the midterms.

00:04:14.000 But here's so there is a difference of opinion here.

00:04:16.000 I've been texting and calling all of my contacts in the Senate.

00:04:21.000 It feels very divided.

00:04:22.000 There are glass half full guys that are saying this will pass the birdbath, which is, again, the parliamentary rules of the Senate.

00:04:30.000 How you can pass certain things through, you know, a 50 vote threshold as opposed to a 60 vote threshold.

00:04:38.000 Reconciliation is the process that that's called.

00:04:41.000 So we'll see.

00:04:42.000 Some think it won't, some think it will.

00:04:44.000 I'm hearing both sides of that.

00:04:45.000 So I choose to be an optimist today, Blake, because they actually moved something through that is common sense that the American people want.

00:04:53.000 I was in the room, Blake, during the State of the Union when President Trump first floated this idea.

00:04:59.000 And I will tell you, That the energy and the exuberance and the clapping, the applause for that moment was huge.

00:05:07.000 Then we got all distracted with Iran, and people forget about that moment.

00:05:10.000 But coming off the State of the Union was a huge, huge populist, domestic, wonderful vibe shift that we desperately needed in this country.

00:05:20.000 And this was one of the key pillars.

00:05:21.000 And why do I say that?

00:05:22.000 Because we have populist energy.

00:05:24.000 You've got to give the people some of these things in order to get excited to come out for the midterms, okay?

00:05:30.000 This is one of them.

00:05:31.000 Let's talk about what the bill does and what it doesn't do.

00:05:34.000 The bill bans purchasing covered investments.

00:05:37.000 So that would be stocks of publicly traded companies and comparable derivatives.

00:05:42.000 So it bans the purchase.

00:05:44.000 It does not ban selling investments.

00:05:48.000 So you can sell it, right?

00:05:49.000 You can sell it if you're already holding it.

00:05:50.000 It requires seven to 14 days public notice before a sale.

00:05:54.000 Okay, that's a good thing, right?

00:05:56.000 I think this is actually a common sense compromise.

00:05:59.000 Applies to members, spouses, and dependent children.

00:06:02.000 So you can't just give the stocks to your kids.

00:06:05.000 And then have them do your bidding.

00:06:06.000 No, no, no.

00:06:07.000 That doesn't work.

00:06:08.000 It imposes fees for violations, force sale of improperly purchased stock.

00:06:13.000 So if you do it wrong, they're going to make you sell it.

00:06:15.000 Okay.

00:06:17.000 So you don't get to have all those, and they're going to impose certain fees.

00:06:20.000 It excludes certain funds.

00:06:21.000 So you can still trade mutual funds, all of those types of things, ETFs that just basically follow the larger indexes.

00:06:33.000 So all of those things, I think, are really good.

00:06:35.000 These are common sense measures that.

00:06:38.000 We've all sort of been wondering why they haven't been in place since.

00:06:42.000 Now, again, I'll just say there were certain acts in the past, Blake.

00:06:45.000 There was the Ethics Act or the Honest Act, which aimed for full bans on holding and trading individual stocks with divestment requirements and coverage.

00:06:55.000 So that doesn't happen, but it does build on the 2012 Stock Act.

00:06:59.000 So these are positive steps in the right direction, but you're absolutely 100% accurate here.

00:07:06.000 The proof is in the pudding, the rubber meets the road in the U.S. Senate.

00:07:11.000 The question then becomes, can we get this through the parliamentarian?

00:07:16.000 That is the question.

00:07:17.000 Trump has called to fire the parliamentarian.

00:07:19.000 It's a Democrat. 0.96

00:07:21.000 I actually think that that's not the right proper course ahead.

00:07:27.000 What we need to do is we need to do what Senator Mike Lee has been proposing, which is the talking filibuster. 0.72

00:07:33.000 Make these people stay in D.C., no August recess, none of this garbage.

00:07:38.000 Do the work of the American people, make them outlast you, make them put their name on the record.

00:07:44.000 Say yay or nay to this stuff because I think if they say, if they vote no, then the egg is on their face and that can only help us.

00:07:51.000 And that just needs to be the Republican approach on a lot of things.

00:07:57.000 Every bill we get up seems to be an omnibus bill on everything.

00:08:02.000 And so they don't make Democrats vote up or down on things that could conceivably be unpopular for Democrats to vote against.

00:08:10.000 I think about that a lot on the border.

00:08:11.000 There's so many aspects of border security, of immigration, that are basically insane.

00:08:18.000 And so you could introduce a single subject bill to roll that back.

00:08:21.000 You can ram it through faster to force them to get votes on it.

00:08:26.000 And I just don't know why Congress.

00:08:28.000 Fails to do these things.

00:08:29.000 And you could do it on this stock act too.

00:08:31.000 Just more people want to see a Congress that feels like it's doing things.

00:08:37.000 And the way they feel like Congress is doing things is not by holding hearings.

00:08:40.000 It's not by holding press conferences.

00:08:42.000 The way they feel like Congress is doing things is that they are voting on and passing stuff.

00:08:48.000 And I just often wonder what's going on with these guys.

00:08:51.000 They aren't even confirming Trump nominees as quickly as they could.

00:08:55.000 Here's the plan if you want to win as a Republican, the plan you should have is.

00:08:59.000 Zero vacancies.

00:09:00.000 You should get to election day, midterm day, with zero vacancies on any position that Trump can make an appointment to.

00:09:09.000 All of those people should be confirmed.

00:09:10.000 If you do that, like I said, the stop and save gas station.

00:09:15.000 If you have the Stop Act passed so that they can say, we're doing something populist, we're not enriching ourselves on insider trading, which is illegal for you, but it's been legal for us for ages.

00:09:25.000 If you ban that, and if you pass the Save Act, and if gas prices get lower because of Iran, we'll talk about that up ahead, you have a good message.

00:09:33.000 You can win the election. 1.00

00:09:36.000 And again, one of the issues in this election is going to be the economy, affordability.

00:09:42.000 If you pass this, it's a huge symbolic victory that the elites, the oligarchs, they don't get to enrich themselves and put themselves ahead of the American people.

00:09:53.000 It's an important scalp to win heading into the midterms.

00:14:47.000 A journalist went and approached Pocahontas Senator Elizabeth Warren and asked about the fact that we now have proof.

00:14:55.000 I mean, there's definitely proof.

00:14:57.000 Far, far, this is the tiniest tip of the iceberg.

00:15:00.000 But now we have proof out of New Jersey with the scandal unfolding where we found out there is 6,600 non citizens who are found on their voter rolls.

00:15:09.000 That number is actually higher now, it's 5x higher that we've confirmed.

00:15:13.000 But Senator Elizabeth Warren is now asked about it because there's proof some of them voted.

00:15:19.000 I know you're vehemently opposed to the Save America Act, but does the recent revelation in New Jersey with the aliens who are actually registered to vote change your opinion on getting that legislation passed?

00:17:14.000 And they make it so easy throughout the process that it's not like you even need to send an operative to illegally solicit their vote.

00:17:26.000 You offer to drive them to the polls.

00:17:27.000 You offer to provide an interpreter.

00:17:29.000 And if people illegally vote along the way without having to be told to, oh, that's so much the better.

00:17:34.000 They're going to vote the way we want them to.

00:17:37.000 And a few dozen votes there, a few hundred votes here.

00:17:40.000 That can get you extra wins along the way.

00:17:43.000 And it's just like mailing all the ballots to everybody.

00:17:45.000 You make it a decentralized process that nobody has to go to jail for, even if it's super illegal, super flagrant what they're doing.

00:17:53.000 Yeah, just imagine the logic that these people are using.

00:17:59.000 President Trump did that whole press conference, a primetime address, where we found out there's over a quarter of a million in just a handful of states that are on the voter rolls.

00:18:09.000 In New Jersey, we find out it's over 35,000, actually, and many of them did vote.

00:18:15.000 So the number's higher than 6,600.

00:18:18.000 We have that Trump truth that confirms that.

00:18:22.000 And they don't care.

00:18:23.000 They laugh at it because they say, nobody's going to do this.

00:18:26.000 Well, actually, we have proof that people do it.

00:18:28.000 Well, we already have, it's already illegal.

00:19:08.000 That's a violation of free speech, but as Colorado has proved time and again, it has little concern for the First Amendment.

00:21:14.000 If you consider the fact that Iran now has virtually zero power projection right now outside towards its neighbors, aside from perhaps molesting shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which is continuing to be less and less and being diminished day by day.

00:21:32.000 You're now also seeing the strangulation again of the blockade against Iran, which is going to, you know, that's not meant to just squeeze, it's not meant to squeeze the people per se.

00:21:42.000 It's also meant to squeeze the infrastructure, the actual power structure of the Iranian leadership.

00:21:49.000 So, you know, look, a lot of people are very anxious about this in terms of like, does this mean we're going to go take Karg Island?

00:21:58.000 I think that there are options on the table out there that do not involve any sort of a forever war, something like Iraq or Vietnam.

00:22:06.000 I'm not seeing anything like that.

00:22:09.000 But also, I think it's important to point out that Iran's strategy here. 0.86

00:22:13.000 If I were the Iranians, I would probably follow the following strategy.

00:22:17.000 And frankly, I hate to be the one to say it, but it's the same strategy that the Democrats have. 0.88

00:22:23.000 And what I mean by that is that Iran wants to play this out, drag it out as long as possible, shoot, stop, say, you know, they'll get beat up a little bit more. 0.67

00:22:36.000 Then they're going to say that we can't control some of the military commanders in our provinces.

00:22:41.000 They're going to lash out again, go back and forth.

00:22:43.000 And with their goal is to drive up prices, right?

00:22:48.000 You know, particularly of oil, which, you know, as we all know, translates to prices everywhere else going up.

00:22:53.000 Their goal is to keep those prices up, keep this dragging out, which obviously won't necessarily politically bode well for President Trump in the midterm elections.

00:23:05.000 And their goal is to have, you know, a loss of the House andor the Senate in November. 0.58

00:25:37.000 Is well, yeah, just the reaction I would say is, yeah, there is a lot of that like bravado as you talk about because you know, so much of it, it's like a lot of other cultures, non Western cultures, it's a very like face saving type of a culture and remaining defiant.

00:25:54.000 Now, uh, one thing I'd say that you, when you mentioned earlier, is a lot of their targets hadn't been hit yet.

00:25:59.000 One thing that I think is really interesting to point out is the Iranians were at least smart enough because look, a lot of people think these people are just you know, dominant educated, that's far from it.

00:26:10.000 Uh, they are. 0.95

00:26:10.000 You know, their leadership is quite fanatical. 0.95

00:26:13.000 But one of the things that you guys and the viewers should realize is that they knew that if they got into a real conflict with the United States, as they have, that most of their conventional forces or conventional Navy would go away.

00:26:29.000 Like they lost their ships, they lost their, you know, what few submarines they have.

00:26:34.000 Now, granted, they've got conventional ground troops, but that's, you know, that's not really a threat to the region.

00:26:40.000 So what they did, and they knew that was going to go away.

00:26:43.000 But what they did invest a lot of time and effort and money into is a lot of these hidden missile sites, launch sites, storage facilities, the so-called mosquito fleet, which is what we call fast and shore attack craft, FACFIAC, a lot of that. 0.63

00:27:02.000 And also keep in mind, the coastline of Iran is about roughly the same length as California.

00:27:08.000 It's a lot of real estate.

00:27:10.000 And it's also pretty craggy and mountainous along most of that coastline.

00:27:14.000 So you can hide a lot of things in there.

00:27:17.000 And one thing as well, I think it's safe to say that the Iranian coastline along the Persian Gulf and, you know, and along the Strait of Hormuz is probably some of the most heavily surveilled in the world right now.

00:27:30.000 So we are watching at all times.

00:27:32.000 And I think you're going to start seeing that the future attacks are going to get fewer and further between because every time they make a move, we see it and we'll most likely hit it or be able to hit it.

00:27:44.000 So that's one of the things that I think between that and addition, the blockade.

00:27:50.000 And also, I've been told with not, I haven't given any of the details, but there are other options on the table for the president to force a deal.

00:27:59.000 And it may be a deal that's not a great one for them, but they have no other choice to accept. 0.85

00:28:03.000 But all that said is the Iranians pursued what they call their mosaic plan. 0.90

00:28:10.000 And I'm not sure if you or your viewers are familiar with this, but in 2003, When they saw Iraq get absolutely pummeled and Saddam Hussein's government taken over in a matter of weeks. 0.92

00:28:24.000 You know, like say what you want about the occupation of Iraq.

00:28:28.000 I participated in that.

00:28:30.000 But we did take out their government and their conventional military very quickly because we did decapitation strikes, destroyed all of their command and control communications.

00:28:47.000 We need to be able to plan against something like that.

00:28:50.000 So, what they did with their mosaic plan is Iran has 31 provinces, and each province is essentially its own command and control C2 node, right?

00:29:04.000 They know what they're supposed to do in case they get into a big shooting war with America or whomever else, but in this case, America.

00:29:11.000 And they have their own, I guess you could say, self contained military fighting force.

00:29:16.000 And so, what we're doing now to counter that is you've seen some of the infrastructure we've been hitting.

00:29:20.000 It is to cut off and isolate.

00:29:24.000 There are three provinces Bouchir, Kunzaz, and I can't remember the name of the other one.

00:29:28.000 I apologize.

00:29:30.000 That are along the coast there.

00:29:31.000 And basically cutting them off in terms of power, rail, bridges, roadways to make sure that they are completely isolated because those are the biggest threats to American shipping.

00:29:42.000 And even though the actual firepower, power projection capability against merchant traffic is relatively low, the issue, though, is that insurance companies don't want to underwrite it or they make the premiums too expensive.

00:29:56.000 No, I think that's all really, really smart analysis.

00:29:59.000 I think the question then becomes, You know, because I keep hearing, you know, Trump wants this done, which leads me to believe that he wants a really, really forceful strike.

00:30:10.000 It kind of makes me think back to, you know, ISIS, where he unshackled the military to defeat ISIS and they got it done really quick.

00:30:17.000 I mean, I think that's kind of where his thinking is at.

00:30:20.000 So, Tom, your analysis is amazing.

00:30:25.000 Just breaking, by the way, on Axios, I guess he gave an exclusive interview.

00:30:31.000 President Trump says he is close to making a decision.

00:30:34.000 Including strikes that would be bigger than the ones carried out during Operation Epic Fury.

00:30:40.000 So he's seriously considering restarting major combat operations in Iran and even bigger strikes, right?

00:30:47.000 So even though we've continued hitting them, apparently he's got plans that he's very, very seriously considering that could go even further.

00:30:56.000 Explain, as I said before, inside the room, which voices are pushing for this, which voices maybe want to see a different route, and what would this larger plan entail in your estimation?

00:31:07.000 Well, despite the fact that I've got a lot of friends at the White House and Pentagon, and I'm there often, nobody's sharing too much strategy with me.

00:31:15.000 But I think it's a fair estimate right now that it's pretty consistent.

00:31:22.000 What we're seeing here with this breaking news is pretty consistent with what I was just speaking about on the earlier segment that I would suspect that these massive attacks would most likely be focused on the coastal provinces.

00:31:38.000 Where most of the attacks on shipping, or it's more like molesting attacks on shipping that really threaten and makes the shipping too expensive to underwrite, that slows down the flow of resources through the strait.

00:31:54.000 I think we're going to see isolation of those provinces, like cutting off everything or turning the lights out, cutting off rail, bridges, highways, any sort of communication, so that those provinces there are no longer a threat.

00:32:12.000 To shipping traffic right now. 0.94

00:32:13.000 So keep in mind that we've got our two biggest objectives in this whole thing is one, first and foremost, is deny Iran's ability to build a nuclear weapon. 0.81

00:32:26.000 Now, obviously, reasonable people can argue whether or not the fact that any enriched uranium that's buried beneath a mountain now and full of rubble and all that is completely inaccessible or what. 0.87

00:32:54.000 And then next is ensuring the Strait of Hormuz, which is an international strait, is free for complete freedom of navigation.

00:33:05.000 And keep in mind, like I mentioned, with that mosaic plan that they are executing right now, is, in my estimation, You know, we could wipe Tehran off the map, and very likely it wouldn't change the tactical situation on the ground along the Strait of Hormuz. 0.74

00:33:24.000 So in addition, I think, to probably taking out more leadership, just as whoever comes next in the seat decides, hey, maybe I like this position.

00:33:35.000 And also, hey, I don't want to have a bomb dropped on my head.

00:33:41.000 However, even if Tehran leadership does make a deal, it's not a guarantee that some of these provinces and local IGC commanders, IRGC commanders on the ground are going to listen.

00:33:54.000 Because they've got their standing orders as part of that mosaic plan.

00:33:57.000 Say, hey, if command and control is knocked out, don't listen to anything anyone else says, carry out this mission.

00:34:02.000 So I think it really comes down less about neutralizing the head of the snake.

00:34:08.000 And then really it's like neutering their ability to project any sort of power, even minimal power, such as firing a few rockets or drones at shipping traffic.

00:34:19.000 Does that all make sense to you guys?

00:34:20.000 Yeah, it makes perfect sense.

00:34:22.000 And it seems like, I mean, I'm just reading the tea leaves here that the basic.

00:34:27.000 Prevailing sentiment within this administration right now, and probably the War Department, is that they need more pain.

00:34:34.000 That they're getting asked to make a deal, but basically they're not working forward in good faith, and therefore they need more pain.

00:34:43.000 It seems like this is going to happen, that the escalation is going to happen.

00:34:46.000 And then maybe they'll be willing to make a deal.

00:34:48.000 There's another front on this war, though, that people need to keep their eyes on as we look at energy prices, Tom.

00:34:54.000 The Houthis are firing at Saudi shipping lanes now as well in the Red Sea.

00:35:00.000 And President Trump is saying we're going to hold Iran responsible because that's a proxy.

00:35:04.000 What can you tell us about that?

00:35:05.000 We have two minutes remaining.

00:35:10.000 If we're going to hold Iran responsible, I mean, wouldn't we just fire on the Houthis? 1.00

00:35:36.000 So, you know, the Houthis, I think, for a time, were wisely staying out of this fight, as in, like, we don't want that heat right now, and they cannot sustain the type of punishment that Iran has been taking.

00:35:49.000 So, when I learned that, you know, that they were firing at, you know, their mortal enemy, the Saudis, or, well, I guess mortal enemy is really Israel, but, you know, the Saudis and the Yemenis don't get along too well.

00:36:02.000 So, when I heard about that, I was rather surprised.

00:36:07.000 Uh, so much it would take us a lot less for us to properly punish the Houthis, and a lot of this really just comes down to geography. 0.98

00:38:35.000 And the one that's getting the most attention is section 219, but there's another section, 622, that I actually think I have more issues with.

00:38:44.000 And we're going to unpack that with Oren McIntyre right now.

00:38:50.000 So, why don't you explain 219 and 622, Oren, and we will unpack that?

00:38:55.000 Pack them from there.

00:38:57.000 So, 219 is getting all the attention.

00:38:59.000 That's the one that just passed the house.

00:39:01.000 And a lot of people are saying that this is totally integrating the Israeli military and the US military.

00:39:06.000 We're merging both of these forces.

00:39:08.000 And that's not correct.

00:39:09.000 What this is, is a way in which we can work with each other on different dynamics when it comes to logistics chains, developing of technologies, a lot of integration when it comes to looking at AI, drones, cybersecurity, possibly even things like directed energy weapons.

00:39:26.000 This is an agreement that looks a lot like the kind of things we have with other NATO countries.

00:39:31.000 The only problem is we're not actually in a technical alliance with Israel.

00:39:35.000 We don't have any real documents drawn up that ultimately put us in some kind of defense treaty with Israel.

00:39:43.000 And the other half of this is well, we were kind of trying to get out of NATO, right?

00:39:47.000 We've been talking about how it isn't great that we're integrated with all these other countries, that they're relying on us for their defense.

00:39:54.000 And this looks an awful lot like we're kind of reinstantiating NATO, but only between.

00:39:58.000 Us and Israel. 0.52

00:40:00.000 So it's not anything as hyperbolic as people make it out to be, but it is still, I think, a step in the wrong direction, especially under the area of cybersecurity, because we do know that Israel does spy on the United States.

00:40:11.000 Some people justify that and say, hey, every nation is going to do that. 0.51

00:40:14.000 Some people say, you know, no, that's terrible.

00:40:16.000 But either way, I don't think we should be integrating cybersecurity with a nation that ultimately has a record of spying on us.

00:40:22.000 I also am strongly of the belief that Machiavelli is right about politics and foreign mercenaries.

00:40:29.000 And foreign auxiliaries.

00:40:30.000 You never should fight a war with other people's troops, other people's technology, because you are not sovereign over them.

00:40:36.000 You are dependent on something you do not control.

00:40:39.000 And when we are talking about eliminating redundancies like 219 does, what we're really saying is we're going to not make some of these things.

00:40:47.000 We're going to give the Israelis the opportunity to build them or work on them, those kind of things, integrate them. 0.58

00:40:52.000 And so we don't want to be dependent on any Israeli technology, not because they're Israeli, but because we just shouldn't be dependent on anyone else.

00:40:59.000 As we learned from COVID, when we didn't produce antibiotics or ventilators, That's not great for us. 0.92

00:41:05.000 So I think 219 is probably a poor decision, but it's not as distressing as 622.

00:41:11.000 Now, 622 is a Senate provision.

00:41:14.000 So it is separate and has not passed yet because this has not passed the Senate.

00:41:17.000 It would most likely end up in reconciliation if both of these were going to move forward.

00:41:22.000 And what 622 does is it requires intelligence sharing with Israel unless the president goes to Congress and specifically asks to not have to do that.

00:41:32.000 So what it does is it automates all intelligence sharing with the Israelis and it removes the Article II authority of the president to have control of intelligence.

00:41:42.000 He has to go back to Congress in order to say, No, I'm going to stop sharing that intelligence.

00:41:47.000 Again, I just think that it is bad to have an automatic position where the president does not have control over intelligence agencies.

00:41:53.000 And instead, there's more power now in the deep state if this passes to control the flow of intelligence unless the president can literally go to Congress and get approval to do his job.

00:42:03.000 Yeah, I think that's all really well stated.

00:42:05.000 Go ahead, Blake.

00:42:07.000 That second part there, just limiting the president's ability to make decisions on.

00:42:13.000 What seems to me a very core national security matter.

00:42:19.000 Is there an argument in favor of this?

00:42:21.000 Is it one of those things in Congress that sort of got slipped in somewhere along the way and a lot of people don't know what they're voting for?

00:42:28.000 Are they making the case for why this is so important?

00:42:30.000 I guess, is it probably, I'm thinking of this up on the fly, are they basically worried we'll have a DSA president in the future who tries to shut this down and they want to block that preemptively?

00:42:42.000 But what just, how did this come about?

00:42:43.000 What's going on here?

00:42:44.000 Well, I think the benign argument would be that this simply automates a process that's ongoing anyway.

00:42:50.000 We're already allies with Israel.

00:42:51.000 We're already sharing intelligence on a regular basis.

00:42:54.000 And so this just smooths out the process.

00:42:56.000 We have five eyes agreements with other nations, and this would create a similar scenario, except for this thing where it inhibits the president from stopping this unless he gets the congressional action. 0.66

00:43:06.000 I do think that the motivation for both of these is ultimately to kind of remove the Israeli relationship from the democratic process.

00:43:15.000 As you said, There's a high possibility that Democrats, and well, frankly, in a decade, maybe even the Republicans would not be huge fans of close integration with Israel.

00:43:24.000 And what this does is make that automatic and creates a level of bureaucracy that is hard to overcome in order to stop it.

00:43:31.000 And this is where the deep state comes in.

00:43:33.000 This is where we get the deep state automating all of these processes, removing them from the constitutional authority that's vested in either the Congress or the president, and instead making sure that the bureaucracies automatically carry out these agendas no matter who gets elected.

00:43:48.000 So, I do think there's a little bit of hedging here.

00:43:50.000 And this is why I've heard from many people that many people in the White House and the government, Pentagon, they don't really want this.

00:43:55.000 They're already working with Israel.

00:43:57.000 They don't need any kind of encouragement to do so.

00:44:00.000 So, it feels like the pressure is really coming from the Congress, the legislators, who are interested in locking that position away from presidential authority rather than the president or the current Pentagon looking to make this change.

00:44:15.000 Yeah.

00:44:16.000 And I think you've made some really tremendous points here, Oren.

00:44:21.000 And I would just say, I checked with my sources to your last point there with the Department of War, and basically their position is we don't need this.

00:44:30.000 We're already working very closely with Israel.

00:44:33.000 I think the other.

00:44:34.000 So, our own Department of War, I mean, I can't underscore that enough, doesn't want this deal.

00:44:39.000 Their official position is they're against this.

00:44:42.000 The other thing that I think was a really good point to Blake's earlier point was this stripping of Article II power from the president to do what he feels is best.

00:44:51.000 Now, that might be.

00:44:53.000 You know, inconsequential right now with President Trump in the White House, but it does feel like a hedging for potential future Democrat presidents and ensuring that this sort of alliance stays intact.

00:45:05.000 I see it on multiple levels.

00:45:08.000 Multiple things can be true, namely that Israel can be really freaking good at making military tech.

00:45:14.000 I mean, they got lasers that are shooting down drones, and there could be some economies of scale.

00:45:19.000 There could be some advantages there.

00:45:21.000 But what you said was very important.

00:45:23.000 It's essentially an agreement that we will not make certain aspects of our own military tech.

00:45:29.000 That feels like a recipe for disaster potentially down the road.

00:45:35.000 And I don't love that.

00:45:36.000 And then again, on the Intel sharing.

00:45:39.000 We're already sharing intel, but we can turn it off, turn it on.

00:45:42.000 They do spy on us.

00:45:43.000 We probably spy on them.

00:45:45.000 It feels like the lines need to be very clear. 0.71

00:45:49.000 Israel is amazing at fighting its wars.

00:45:51.000 We can learn things from them. 0.68

00:45:52.000 We do learn things from them.

00:45:54.000 But here's my last point.

00:45:56.000 We really haven't touched on this yet.

00:45:58.000 Israel needs its own freedom.

00:46:01.000 Obviously, from a practical standpoint, but from an optic standpoint, they cannot be perceived as a vassal state of the United States, either domestically or internationally.

00:46:11.000 People cannot.

00:46:13.000 See them that way.

00:46:14.000 And I think that's really, really critical because these sections could give the impression, even though we said it's overblown, that that is the case, that they are just a vassal state of the United States.

00:46:25.000 So for all these reasons and more, I am against both Section 219 and 622.

00:46:32.000 But 622 is the real poison pill here.

00:46:35.000 And I just want to reiterate something.

00:46:37.000 Two things can be true at once.

00:46:39.000 This is not an anti Israel position, this is a pro America position, this is a what makes sense position.

00:46:46.000 Position and 622 strips the president of Article II authorities.

00:46:54.000 That's kind of insane.

00:46:56.000 The question now becomes does it have a chance of passing in the Senate?

00:47:02.000 And what are you hearing on that?

00:47:03.000 It's a difficult question.

00:47:05.000 I mean, obviously, we know that the House just passed 219, and 622 is part of the Senate bill.

00:47:09.000 So it would even have to go through the reconciliation process.

00:47:12.000 It might not survive that as well.

00:47:14.000 I do think that it is probably likely to eventually get passed, but I hope that is not the case.

00:47:20.000 And the problem really is the frame that this sets. 0.51

00:47:22.000 As you noted before we went to break, this is bad for America and Israel.

00:47:27.000 This is bad for sovereignty across the board.

00:48:09.000 What I'm hearing more and more from both Israeli nationalists and American nationalists is that it does not benefit either country to be dependent on each other.
