00:00:23.000 Buckle up, everybody, here.

00:00:25.000 We go.

00:00:25.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.

00:00:27.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.

00:00:29.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.

00:00:32.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.

00:00:36.000 I want to thank Charlie.

00:00:37.000 He's an incredible guy.

00:00:38.000 His spirit, his love of this country.

00:00:40.000 He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created.

00:00:45.000 Turning point USA. 0.65

00:00:46.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.

00:00:55.000 That's why we are here.

00:00:58.000 Brought to you by Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage.

00:01:11.000 So it looks like this is breaking news right now.

00:01:15.000 Kevin McCarthy has begun talks with Democrats about a deal to support a consensus candidate for speaker or hold out from voting to ensure he needs to reach a lower threshold.

00:01:27.000 So basically, if that is correct, that means that Kevin McCarthy is trying to broker deals with Democrats to become Speaker of the House, doing a deal with the devil to become Speaker, if the Hills reporting is correct.

00:01:48.000 And so there's two ways to interpret that.

00:01:52.000 The first way is that Kevin McCarthy is selling us out and is going to become a Democrat speaker.

00:02:00.000 Yeah, that is one way to interpret it.

00:02:03.000 The other way to interpret it is that there was a deal on the table and you push someone who is purely transactional, which Kevin McCarthy has always been, in the direction to then go get the power that he wants from Democrats.

00:02:20.000 So there you go.

00:02:21.000 We don't know where this is going to end up, but basically the longer that this goes, you are now, the Freedom Caucus, could it be in a place where they are losing power, not gaining power?

00:02:35.000 And you might say, well, Kevin just wants to be Speaker.

00:02:37.000 He's always just wanted to be Speaker.

00:02:39.000 That's been the argument to give the Freedom Caucus more power, more a bigger seat at the table.

00:02:48.000 And someone said right here, and this is a good argument, Charlie, this is exactly why we don't trust Kevin McCarthy.

00:02:54.000 I mean, I have no counter argument to that.

00:02:55.000 Doing a deal with Democrats or doing a deal with the devil, I'm not going to defend that.

00:03:01.000 So you might say, well, Charlie, that weakens his position.

00:03:04.000 So the vote is done.

00:03:05.000 Is that right?

00:03:06.000 I can't see what it is.

00:03:07.000 20.

00:03:07.000 Okay, so it has stayed stable at 20 no votes against McCarthy.

00:03:15.000 So newest news as well, Alexandria Casio-Cortez says that she will not rule out working with moderate Republicans to resolve the speaker battle, but would not support Kevin McCarthy, saying that they would need a more consensus candidate and Democrats would need more concessions.

00:03:33.000 She says, hey, if we can get on committees and get some chairs, it would be worth it.

00:03:36.000 This is where this is now potentially heading.

00:03:40.000 If we cannot find a potential Speaker of the House. 0.96

00:03:51.000 Someone says here, I think Kevin McCarthy is a traitor and a liar to the American people. 0.75

00:03:56.000 He's not to be trusted and does not have what it takes to stand up to the corruption selling out the American people. 0.88

00:04:05.000 Charlie, I'm from Fort Myers, and I used to live in Naples.

00:04:09.000 Byron Donalds would be a fantastic choice for Speaker.

00:04:12.000 He is loved here in Southwest Florida.

00:04:16.000 So AOC is potentially saying, as are other Democrats, like, hey, we'll work with moderate Republicans if we can get some chairs on committees.

00:04:27.000 This is the one argument against stretching this out too long.

00:04:33.000 People get impatient.

00:04:34.000 You've got to keep on doing these roll calls.

00:04:36.000 People are then saying, I want to go back home.

00:04:39.000 This is too long to sit around.

00:04:41.000 I know it sounds silly, but this is the calculus that some people go through.

00:04:47.000 This is cut 37, Chip Roy nominating Byron Donalds.

00:04:50.000 Play cut 37.

00:04:52.000 Yesterday, my first vote for Speaker of the House was for Byron Donalds.

00:04:59.000 Today, I'm rising to nominate Byron Donalds for Speaker of the House of Representatives.

00:05:05.000 So that is 20 votes that went for Byron Donalds.

00:05:11.000 So what we're now getting into is a whole new category of negotiation, which is really the testing of the wills.

00:05:20.000 Who is going to blink?

00:05:22.000 Are McCarthy's 130, 140 people going to blink?

00:05:26.000 How bad does McCarthy want to be Speaker?

00:05:29.000 If McCarthy can't do a deal with the Freedom Caucus and make the Congress the most conservative Congress in history, then Kevin McCarthy will go do a deal with Democrats. 0.55

00:05:42.000 Someone says, Charlie, Kevin McCarthy is a traitor. 0.82

00:05:45.000 That's your boy. 0.88

00:05:46.000 You must be proud.

00:05:47.000 This should disqualify Speaker McCarthy from becoming Speaker. 0.98

00:05:50.000 So if you still support him, you're a traitor. 0.84

00:05:52.000 I want to be very clear. 0.53

00:05:54.000 I think that my position is being misrepresented.

00:05:58.000 I have had a sincere and very clear position of inquiry.

00:06:03.000 What is the plan?

00:06:04.000 Could this go wrong?

00:06:07.000 I'm also trying to live in reality.

00:06:10.000 For weeks, I warned that this might be happening.

00:06:13.000 And here we are.

00:06:15.000 Don't think it's excellent, the direction it's headed.

00:06:21.000 Latest from Jake Sherman.

00:06:25.000 Yeah, there's not much in that tweet, but Jake Sherman basically said McCarthy gained no votes there and things stayed exactly the same.

00:06:35.000 So look, politics is how we negotiate the use of power.

00:06:39.000 We try to achieve as much as we can within the power that we actually have.

00:06:44.000 And we have to face that we're not all powerful.

00:06:47.000 So if 50 Democrats now stand up and say this is terrible, I'm not showing up, then McCarthy can get elected Speaker because of the defections.

00:06:55.000 If some Republicans leave, then it's possible for Democrats to get the majority if they all stick around.

00:07:00.000 If they say, forget it, I'm going home.

00:07:02.000 So now we're entering into the test of wills.

00:07:08.000 Someone says here, Charlie, why are you putting yourself against the Freedom Caucus but having you email me freedom at CharlieKirk.com?

00:07:15.000 I'm actually not against the Freedom Caucus.

00:07:17.000 I'm in favor of the Freedom Caucus.

00:07:18.000 In fact, I think the Freedom Caucus is too moderate because the Freedom Caucus has been sending way too much money, which is a dollar, to Ukraine.

00:07:26.000 I think that's an unfair email.

00:07:28.000 And so what I will say is you must live in reality.

00:07:34.000 I think we got Ana Paulina calling in. 0.98

00:07:36.000 Is that right?

00:07:37.000 Once Ana Paulina calls in, she is a member of the Freedom Caucus.

00:07:40.000 She voted for Byron Donald.

00:07:41.000 She has not voted for Kevin McCarthy from the floor.

00:07:44.000 She is a turning point alumni.

00:07:46.000 Very proud of Ana as she's not yet a congresswoman because they're not allowed to swear in members of Congress until you have a speaker.

00:07:56.000 So she's still Congresswoman elect.

00:07:58.000 It could go on for a little bit for a couple days.

00:08:02.000 So as soon as Ana Paulina calls in, we're going to go right to her and will give us an update straight from the floor.

00:08:11.000 We say, here's Charlie McCarthy just showed his true colors.

00:08:15.000 Now, no matter what he does, it will not make the Freedom Caucus move.

00:08:20.000 You might be right.

00:08:21.000 Trying to broker a deal with Democrats will definitely not make your speakership more compelling.

00:08:28.000 Ana Paulina is on the line.

00:08:30.000 Ana, give us the latest from the floor.

00:08:34.000 Hey, so sorry it took me so long.

00:08:36.000 We just got off.

00:08:37.000 But long story short, look, over the last couple of days, and I know that some people are frustrated, but this is really how Congress works and functions.

00:08:46.000 We have to ensure that the American people are being protected and that we're really going back to what our founders intended this country should be run, right?

00:08:55.000 A lot of people are getting disinformation from the media that are saying that apparently there's a possibility that a Democrat could become speaker.

00:09:02.000 We're not going to allow that to happen.

00:09:04.000 What we just saw was the nomination.

00:09:06.000 It's a historical nomination of Representative Byron Donalds.

00:09:09.000 She's one of the first Black Republicans to be nominated for Speaker.

00:09:14.000 I've known Byron.

00:09:15.000 Many people in Florida have.

00:09:16.000 He served in the state legislature.

00:09:19.000 He's extremely conservative.

00:09:20.000 But more importantly, he's someone that people can trust to really move forward and represent, I believe, the true wants of the needs of the American people and really stand against those in DC.

00:09:33.000 And when I say this, it's a swamp.

00:09:34.000 It really is.

00:09:35.000 People are wanting to know what the plan is.

00:09:37.000 The plan is to talk about this.

00:09:39.000 I've been in meetings all morning and I can tell you that there are people because of how conference has been run in the last couple of hours that have moved to the not being open to Leader McCarthy at all for speaker.

00:09:52.000 And unfortunately, regardless of where I am at in my own personal beliefs and positions, I represent only Pinellas County and I'm telling you, I'm fighting for the wants and needs of the people of Pinellas County.

00:10:03.000 But as of right now, I'm seeing that Leader McCarthy does not have votes to become the Speaker of the House.

00:10:09.000 And then we have Marjorie Taylor Greene.

00:10:11.000 How do you see this playing out?

00:10:13.000 You say Kevin doesn't have the votes.

00:10:14.000 So then what is the timeline?

00:10:16.000 Walk us through it.

00:10:16.000 What is the plan?

00:10:18.000 Look, as of right now, I think that we're going to continue to stay on the floor until someone makes a motion to adjourn.

00:10:24.000 But I do believe that we should stay here and that we should solve this and that it's our job to figure out who should best run this house.

00:10:31.000 And I think that it's important that we don't necessarily attack each other based on those preferences, but also realize that this morning I did go in good faith to see where everyone was at.

00:10:42.000 And I can tell you that although I'm not a never Kevin person, that unfortunately, because of what's happened within the conference in the last 24 hours even, there's a lot of people that have moved over into that demographic.

00:10:56.000 And unfortunately, they will never ever vote for him.

00:11:01.000 And so it's putting us in a position where we need to come together.

00:11:04.000 We need to discuss this respectfully and then get back to work for the American people.

00:11:09.000 So we're going to continue to have these discussions for as long as it takes.

00:11:12.000 And, you know, I'm sorry if it's uncomfortable for you guys, but just know that we're doing this in our best faith efforts.

00:11:20.000 And also know that we have to make a change now.

00:11:23.000 We cannot continue to do the same thing.

00:11:24.000 You guys know spending is through the roof.

00:11:26.000 Our economies in the whole and we're losing our country.

00:11:28.000 And so if we have to take arrows for this, fine.

00:11:32.000 You know, I understand some people are frustrated with me for not voting for Kevin, but I'm listening to what my people said and we're going to do.

00:11:41.000 And I've talked to thousands of people and I'm not going to be pressured.

00:11:45.000 Ana, we are behind you.

00:11:47.000 God bless you.

00:11:47.000 Talk to you soon.

00:11:48.000 And I hope you get sworn in sometime soon.

00:11:50.000 That would be nice.

00:11:52.000 All right, Ana.

00:11:52.000 Thank you so much.

00:11:53.000 Thanks, Charlie.

00:11:54.000 Bye.

00:11:57.000 Okay, Kirk fans, I need you to stop and pay attention to this.

00:12:02.000 It's a new year, and you may be trying to make some positive change in your life.

00:12:06.000 New resolutions, habits, and thought processes.

00:12:09.000 But let's be honest, these efforts do not always pan out.

00:12:12.000 Have you ever given up after a few months because you don't see the results you were hoping for?

00:12:16.000 That's where Strong Cell comes in.

00:12:18.000 I love it.

00:12:19.000 In fact, I take it before every show.

00:12:21.000 I'm a big believer in this because it contains NADH.

00:12:26.000 I've kind of become a student of NAD.

00:12:28.000 I'm going to tell you more about that in a second.

00:12:30.000 Look, Strong Cell is a scientific formula that helps boost your body's natural energy and restoration at the cellular level.

00:12:45.000 Now, you might say, Charlie, this sounds too good to be true.

00:12:47.000 NAD, go look it up online.

00:12:49.000 Go do five minutes of research on NAD.

00:12:51.000 It is a miracle coenzyme.

00:12:53.000 Some people call it the anti-aging enzyme.

00:12:56.000 It can help with depression.

00:12:57.000 It can help with anxiety.

00:12:59.000 It can help with drug detox.

00:13:00.000 It can help with mental acuity, with memory.

00:13:02.000 And Strong Cell also puts CoQ10 and wild-caught marine collagen.

00:13:08.000 Again, I take it every day, and the difference I feel is undeniable.

00:14:46.000 Joining us now is Marjorie Taylor Green, who is voting in support of Kevin McCarthy to get the other side of the debate.

00:14:54.000 Marjorie Taylor Greene joins us.

00:14:56.000 Congresswoman Green, thank you for joining us.

00:14:58.000 What is the latest on the floor?

00:15:00.000 Do you think Kevin has the votes to seal the deal?

00:15:04.000 Walk us through it.

00:15:05.000 Well, we just did our fourth round, our fourth ballot, and he didn't have anyone to pick.

00:15:13.000 We just had the same group, 20 people, vote for their third speaker candidate, who, by the way, has presented no plan whatsoever, no agenda, hasn't told the American people or our conference what they want to do.

00:15:30.000 So again, this is proof that they have no plan, which is my problem all along.

00:15:35.000 It's hard to support a secret candidate for speaker because they never want to announce who they're running.

00:15:42.000 And then when you find out who the person is, there's nothing presented.

00:15:46.000 We have an agenda, and the agenda is to do investigations into Hunter Biden, the Biden administration, impeach Mayorkis.

00:15:54.000 I want to impeach Joe Biden.

00:15:56.000 Border security, shut down the Sentinel, killing Americans every single day, and to rein in the spending that has inflation out of control, to audit Ukraine. 0.57

00:16:07.000 That's a resolution I introduced, and we can get it passed.

00:16:10.000 We have so many things that we want to do.

00:16:13.000 Hold the DC jail accountable.

00:16:15.000 I want to investigate them.

00:16:16.000 COVID origins, vaccines, but we can't do any of this stuff until we elect Kevin McCarthy, who is fully on board with all of these things.

00:16:26.000 So what you saw is, again, pretty much the entire conference is supporting Kevin McCarthy, except 20 people.

00:16:34.000 And Victoria Sparks voted present because she's planning to run for Senate in her state and maybe opposing Jim Banks. 0.81

00:16:43.000 That's the rumor.

00:16:44.000 So, Marjorie, do you think that there is a path for Kevin to become speaker?

00:16:48.000 If so, what is that path?

00:16:50.000 I think there definitely is the path.

00:16:52.000 There's an easy path, and that's for the 20 people that have been negotiating with him for months now and bringing to him, you know, and I was in on some of it with the rules package saying we want this, we want that.

00:17:08.000 They have gotten what they have wanted.

00:17:10.000 What they need to do is act like what real people do in the real world, especially in the business world, is when you make a deal, you take the deal, you take the W, you take the win, and you go out there and get the job done.

00:17:24.000 But they're not doing that.

00:17:25.000 They're refusing to do that.

00:17:27.000 And that's not for the country.

00:17:29.000 That is for themselves.

00:17:31.000 And that's where I have a serious problem with it, Charlie.

00:17:34.000 We came here.

00:17:35.000 We are hired to do a job for the people.

00:17:37.000 That's the only job that I want to do.

00:17:40.000 Yesterday, we were supposed to vote to get rid of the 87,000 IRS agent army.

00:17:46.000 We couldn't do that because we had to go through three ballots on a speaker vote.

00:17:50.000 And we had the 20 people holding it back.

00:17:53.000 So we can't defeat the Democrats.

00:17:55.000 We can't beat Joe Biden.

00:17:56.000 We can't stop all the horrible things that are happening.

00:17:59.000 We can't hold the FBI, Department of Justice, and the CIA accountable for violating people's free speech on social media and the internet.

00:18:08.000 We can't do any of this until the 20 realize that they need to take the deal or ask, get the rest of what they want.

00:18:16.000 Let's get a win and let's go forward and let's beat the Democrats.

00:18:20.000 But there's definitely a path.

00:18:22.000 It seems as if, though, the anti-Kevin votes are increasing.

00:18:26.000 Walk us through it.

00:18:27.000 No, that the anti-Kevin votes have not increased at all.

00:18:31.000 If anyone was watching on the fourth ballot that we just finished, and I just walked out the House floor to call you, it did not increase.

00:18:40.000 We just had one person vote present because it's Victoria Sparks, and she's angry at Kevin McCarthy because of what he said about Ukraine, because he said that under his speakership, we aren't going to be shipping tons of money over Ukraine.

00:18:59.000 So Kevin lost the vote because he's not in favor of sending.

00:19:03.000 So she's interested in running.

00:19:04.000 She wants to run for Senate, Charlie. 0.58

00:19:07.000 So she's making a statement because it's a possibility she's going to run against Jim Banks.

00:19:11.000 If he were to run against Senate, I'm just speculating.

00:19:14.000 That's why we think she voted present, but she'll probably flip right back. 1.00

00:19:19.000 So he held the same group.

00:19:21.000 He has over 200 people, 200 Republicans.

00:19:25.000 So explain to me how 20 people, 20 people voted for Byron Donald, no change in their group whatsoever.

00:19:32.000 How are they defeating over 200 Republicans that have held strong in voting for Kevin McCarthy?

00:19:39.000 So I don't see any defection there.

00:19:41.000 I saw Victoria Sports make a political play to vote present because she's going to run for Senate, but she'll flip back. 1.00

00:19:50.000 And this is, and if anybody's paying attention, my point I'm making to you is, I have Michael McCall, I have Kevin McCarthy, I have the same people that people don't think support auditing Ukraine.

00:20:03.000 I have them supporting my resolution to audit Ukraine, but we can't do anything until we elect Kevin McCarthy as speaker.

00:20:11.000 And we have 20 Republicans holding that hostage.

00:20:14.000 So we didn't lose any ground in here.

00:20:17.000 And I'm, you know, here's something else, a really important point.

00:20:19.000 This isn't about a personality contest.

00:20:22.000 This is about working for the American people.

00:20:24.000 And that's what we want to do.

00:20:27.000 And if anybody wants to make sure they know what I'm supporting, I'm supporting Kevin McCarthy's public agenda, not something that's been said behind closed doors, his public agenda.

00:20:38.000 And if people actually read the public agenda, it's unbelievable to think that the 20 Republicans who are my allies and friends are not supporting it because it's exactly what the base wants.

00:20:52.000 And so we just have to keep working.

00:20:54.000 We're going to have to keep talking.

00:20:55.000 We're going to have to keep negotiating and we need to make a deal.

00:20:59.000 That's how you strike the art of deal.

00:21:00.000 Yeah.

00:21:01.000 So Marjorie, right now, what does that look like today?

00:21:03.000 It looks like there's, you know, a bunch of kind of silly, rather shallow conversations happening on the House floor.

00:21:09.000 Nothing too serious just based on body language and kind of just they're laughing and walking around.

00:21:14.000 Is there going to be another vote today?

00:21:15.000 I mean, what does this look like, Marjorie?

00:21:18.000 Because people are rather confused.

00:21:20.000 People are saying, should Kevin bow out of the race?

00:21:23.000 Is Byron Donalds gonna gain in support because of this?

00:21:27.000 What does the timeline look like?

00:21:28.000 Absolutely not.

00:21:29.000 Well, you just saw Byron Donald's only got 20 people.

00:21:32.000 Byron Donalds is not going to gain in support.

00:21:35.000 He's not even a serious candidate.

00:21:37.000 They have run in two days, Charlie, the same group have run three different speaker candidates.

00:21:44.000 Jim Jordan, Jim Jordan is flat out telling everyone, I do not want to be speaker of the house.

00:21:50.000 He wants to be chairman of the judiciary, and we need him to be chairman of the judiciary.

00:21:54.000 He told Matt Gates to his face right in front of me on the House floor yesterday, Matt, I do not want to be speaker.

00:22:00.000 I want to chair judiciary.

00:22:02.000 Why are you doing this?

00:22:04.000 That was said right in front of me.

00:22:05.000 Jim Jordan also got asked by the press yesterday in the hallways here in the Capitol.

00:22:09.000 That's on video.

00:22:11.000 And they asked him about being speaker and he said, I don't want to be speaker.

00:22:14.000 I want to chair judiciary.

00:22:16.000 He's ready for investigations.

00:22:18.000 And people, it is lying.

00:22:20.000 Okay, when you have Matt Gates and the rest of the group going out there saying Jim Jordan's going to be speaker, but yet Jim Jordan doesn't want to be speaker, that's lying to the American people, Charlie.

00:22:32.000 And I'm not going to support any lying to the American people.

00:22:36.000 All I can do is come on your show and keep going out there and telling the truth of what is political reality because we can't live in conservative fantasy land, although I share those same conservative fantasies with the group of 20.

00:22:50.000 But I can't, you can't do real work there because it's not real.

00:22:54.000 We have political reality and political reality is that Kevin McCarthy just completely held strong and so did the 20. 0.85

00:23:03.000 So we just have a battle of wills going on right now and we need to talk it out.

00:23:10.000 Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here, the inventor and CEO of MyPillow, Mike Lindell, is always looking for ways to solve everyday problems.

00:23:16.000 Have you ever picked up a towel set because it felt really soft in the store?

00:23:22.000 It's basically a towel that's leading you out to dry.

00:23:24.000 That's why MyPillow has developed the MyPillow towels, towels that work. 0.92

00:24:07.000 That is mypillow.com, promo code Kirk.

00:24:12.000 Last question here, Marjorie.

00:24:14.000 You know, we had a guest in the previous salary.

00:24:15.000 He said, well, let's just go to Steve Scalise.

00:24:17.000 And I kind of just put up the red flag.

00:24:18.000 I said, whoa, whoa, whoa.

00:24:19.000 Steve Scalise, very friendly to Disney.

00:24:22.000 He tried to push Amnesty back in 2018.

00:24:25.000 He was neutral with Hageman and Cheney, only member of leadership to not go against Liz Cheney.

00:24:30.000 He's buddies with Hakeem Jeffries.

00:24:32.000 So, Marjorie, it's kind of like, wait a second, be careful what you wish for, right?

00:24:36.000 What are your thoughts?

00:24:38.000 Oh, I completely agree with you.

00:24:40.000 Look, you know, I like Steve Scalise.

00:24:41.000 I get, I get along with him here, but you just laid out every single reason.

00:24:46.000 And he doesn't have the support in the conference either.

00:24:49.000 And then I think the second point needs to be made: Steve Scalise is not running for speaker.

00:24:54.000 That's another extremely important point.

00:24:56.000 Same as Jim Jordan.

00:24:57.000 Jim Jordan doesn't want the job.

00:24:58.000 Steve Scalise doesn't want the job.

00:25:00.000 He is the majority leader.

00:25:02.000 There is no one in this conference that wants the job more than Kevin McCarthy.

00:25:08.000 And let me lay it out right here, okay?

00:25:11.000 I am a conservative, and so I'm going to fight every inch of the way, Charlie, to make sure that conservatives are our values, our principles, our ideas, our policies, I'm fighting for those, and I'm going to continue to.

00:25:25.000 But here's the truth that people need to understand.

00:25:28.000 We have 222 Republican members of Congress.

00:25:31.000 We have to get to 218 to pass anything on the House floor.

00:25:37.000 Otherwise, it fails and falls flat if we don't have 218.

00:25:40.000 That means that all of us, including my friends of the 20 that are fighting against Kevin McCarthy right now, we have so much power in our voting cards.

00:25:50.000 And it's being proven right now.

00:25:52.000 So we need to put this fight that's happening right now, we need to put it into real battles.

00:25:58.000 And that's creating legislation that is totally demolishing the 87,000 IRS Army, that's using the Holman rule to fire people like Merrick Garland in the Department of Justice and fire more people in the Biden administration.

00:26:14.000 The Holman rule allows us to completely cut out their salary and completely get rid of them. 0.85

00:26:21.000 But we can't do these things until we elect Kevin McCarthy and he's willing to let us do it.

00:26:27.000 He's the one bringing the Holman rule back in into our rules package.

00:26:32.000 So listen, I'm just telling you, people need to understand we should be fighting on the work that we're doing.

00:26:39.000 And that's by getting to 218 and demanding good things be done, not in here fighting over a speaker race, which makes the Republican Party look totally inadequate and not prepared to run the country.

00:26:52.000 And we have to prove we can run the country so we can win the White House in 2024 and hopefully take some more Senate seats in the Senate and hold the House.

00:27:01.000 And Charlie, that means everything.

00:27:03.000 When we have all three, we can truly accomplish something.

00:27:06.000 And so you see, it's a game of inches, and we're fighting for inches in here because, you know, again, Biden's in the White House.

00:27:14.000 The Democrats control the Senate.

00:27:16.000 And we barely control the House and we're not controlling anything because we're having a silly fight for no reason.

00:27:23.000 Yeah, so Marjorie, I guess the question is: who's going to budge?

00:27:25.000 Who's going to blink?

00:27:26.000 It's a test of the wills.

00:27:27.000 And so this could go on for days.

00:27:29.000 Is that right?

00:27:30.000 Yeah, and I'm all in for it.

00:27:32.000 We got to work it out.

00:27:33.000 And I think it should happen.

00:27:35.000 I think it's actually, I think this is so healthy, Charlie.

00:27:38.000 We have to keep on working on it.

00:27:41.000 But just to say for Kevin McCarthy to quit, no, absolutely not.

00:27:45.000 If he wants to be speaker, he needs to stay in there and keep fighting because he has the full support of over 200 members of Congress.

00:27:55.000 He has the full support of Jim Jordan.

00:27:57.000 He has the full support of me.

00:27:59.000 He has the full support of many other conservatives.

00:28:01.000 And by the way, Freedom Caucus members.

00:28:04.000 This is not an official Freedom Caucus position going against Kevin McCarthy.

00:28:09.000 It's only a small group of Freedom Caucus that are going against Kevin McCarthy.

00:28:15.000 So that's something else that people don't know.

00:28:18.000 It's just sad to me that there's not enough information out there for people to truly understand what's really happening in here instead of just thinking that conservative fantasies can come true by just saying, oh, it's Jim Jordan.

00:28:32.000 Make him speaker or Chip Roy.

00:28:34.000 Chip Roy did not object to Joe Biden's electoral college votes, Charlie.

00:28:38.000 Chip Roy set it out on the January 6th committee vote when they created that committee.

00:28:44.000 He didn't even vote no.

00:28:45.000 He didn't vote yes, but he just set out the vote and he knows exactly what he did.

00:28:51.000 So people need to understand who they're following.

00:28:53.000 Scott Perry, Scott Perry voted for gay marriage right before his general election.

00:28:59.000 He voted for it.

00:28:59.000 That is cool.

00:29:00.000 He's chairman and he's leading this fight against Kevin McCarthy. 0.97

00:29:04.000 And so I'm sick of these people that have done things that are hypocritical, truly hypocritical, and the base would hate them for it and they would be screaming at them for it. 0.95

00:29:14.000 But the base doesn't know because the only bad, the only person they're hearing being chewed apart is Kevin McCarthy. 0.96

00:29:22.000 So I'm talking to Freedom Caucus people.

00:29:24.000 Sorry to keep you so long here, Marjorie, but this is important.

00:29:26.000 We've got tons of viewers right now and people are super curious.

00:29:28.000 So we have, we have, I talked to the Freedom Caucus.

00:29:28.000 Okay.

00:29:31.000 They say they want rules committee, they want steering committee and motion to vacate.

00:29:34.000 Those are their three things, or at least concessions there.

00:29:37.000 Are they living in reality or are these unreasonable requests?

00:29:41.000 Well, I think, you know what?

00:29:44.000 So let's talk about rules committee steering, motion to vacate.

00:29:48.000 They have it with five members.

00:29:50.000 Guess what?

00:29:51.000 They are proving right now, they are preemptively vacating the chair, and they are proving that you can vacate the chair with just five members because they're doing it right now.

00:30:01.000 But I'm sure they can get it down to one.

00:30:03.000 They need to go to Kevin McCarthy and negotiate that.

00:30:06.000 And that's the kind of talk I want to see happen today.

00:30:09.000 You know, fine, let's go.

00:30:10.000 Let's get it done.

00:30:11.000 And then rules committee, let's take the committees and talk about how committees should be assigned.

00:30:18.000 Well, if there are 40, roughly 40 Freedom Caucus members, that's a certain percentage of our conference.

00:30:26.000 And so it would be fair to say that that percentage of our conference of 222 should be put on each committee so that we can make sure that it's fairly laid out.

00:30:39.000 But do they get to demand to run entire committees?

00:30:43.000 No, that's not right.

00:30:45.000 That's not even fair.

00:30:47.000 I think we need to have Freedom Caucus members on rules.

00:30:50.000 And I think Kevin McCarthy's willing to do that.

00:30:52.000 And he's told him.

00:30:53.000 He's told them that he's willing.

00:30:55.000 Steering committee, yes.

00:30:57.000 Again, same thing.

00:30:58.000 Percentage of Freedom Caucus members put that same percentage on the steering committee, whatever those numbers work out to be.

00:31:04.000 But I think these are all conversations we can have today.

00:31:06.000 I love Tucker Carlson's idea last night, Charlie.

00:31:09.000 Did you see his ideas talking about releasing all the January 6th committee files?

00:31:15.000 Let's do it.

00:31:16.000 I am all in for that because those people need to be held accountable for what they have done and how they have politically persecuted people.

00:31:25.000 I want to see that happen.

00:31:27.000 I want to see the DC jail shut down.

00:31:30.000 I want to see January 6th defendants that are not allowed to bail out.

00:31:35.000 That is completely wrong.

00:31:36.000 These are things that I want to see worked on.

00:31:38.000 And I think these are conversations that we can have today.

00:31:42.000 Church committee.

00:31:43.000 Church committee is such a great idea.

00:31:45.000 Right now, I think it's Jim Jordan that is going to be running it.

00:31:49.000 Thomas Tucker talked about Thomas Massey last night.

00:31:53.000 Thomas Massey is a great friend of mine.

00:31:54.000 I totally support him too.

00:31:56.000 Put Thomas Massey and Jim Jordan running a church style committee right here in Congress.

00:32:01.000 These are all things that we are so excited to start doing. 0.99

00:32:04.000 But here we are having a stupid fight for absolutely no reason. 0.98

00:32:10.000 So I'm encouraging people: hey, open your eyes and realize what's happening to the majority you worked hard to make happen. 0.98

00:32:18.000 People that knocked doors, people that donated money, people that supported campaigns.

00:32:23.000 You helped us win the majority.

00:32:25.000 Now we need to elect the speaker.

00:32:27.000 We've got over 200 people for Kevin McCarthy.

00:32:29.000 We got 20 people that just need to come this way.

00:32:33.000 And all they have to do is let's finish working out the differences and let's get the game going because it's time to do something, Charlie.

00:32:41.000 We can't wait any longer.

00:32:44.000 Marjorie Taylor Greene, I know you got to get back to the House floor.

00:32:47.000 It seems like they're starting some announcements.

00:32:49.000 You'll be watching.

00:32:50.000 Marjorie, thank you so much.

00:32:52.000 Okay, thanks, Charlie.

00:32:53.000 Bye-bye.

00:32:54.000 So the 20 people that are currently objecting to Kevin McCarthy, Eli Crane from Arizona, Ana Paulina Luna, Andy Biggs, Matt Gates, Scott Perry, Paul Gosar, Norman from South Carolina, Ogles from Tennessee, Bob Good from Virginia.

00:33:12.000 I think that's Self from Texas, Mary Miller from Illinois, Cloud from Texas, Bobert from Colorado, Bretchen from Oklahoma, Donald's from Florida, Clyde from Georgia, Harris from Maryland, Bishop from North Carolina, Rosendale from Montana, and Chip Roy from Texas.

00:33:27.000 It's the same list as yesterday.

00:33:29.000 We actually never read it on air.

00:35:40.000 Apparently the Hill has retracted their reporting and has deleted their tweet and deleted the story saying that it was poorly sourced and Kevin McCarthy is not working with Democrats to try and become Speaker of the House.

00:35:58.000 So that has been retracted and has been corrected.

00:36:06.000 Lots of emails here.

00:36:08.000 People pretty fired up.

00:36:10.000 This is really, let me just kind of editorialize on this for a second before we welcome Kurt Schlichter back.

00:36:18.000 This here is really not about Kevin McCarthy and it's not even about the Speaker of the House and it's not about the House of Representatives.

00:36:26.000 This here has become a culmination point, a proxy war for culminated grievances, pent up injustices of the last many years.

00:36:41.000 This here is a volcanic eruption of many years of betrayal, deceit, and arrogance.

00:36:49.000 What's happening here is not about Kevin and it's not about Congress.

00:36:53.000 It's about the institution.

00:36:55.000 It is about the organism of our government that has betrayed the people for so long.

00:37:00.000 And this is the reaction to it.

00:37:03.000 We have Kurt Schlichter with us.

00:37:04.000 Kurt, welcome back to the program.

00:37:06.000 Kurt, this makes Barnum and Baileys seem boring.

00:37:11.000 Your thoughts, Kurt Schlichter?

00:37:13.000 Well, you know, I just saw a tweet by Chip Roy who says, hey, this is what it looks like when everybody's here in a seat and we're all debating.

00:37:21.000 And I got to say he's got a point.

00:37:23.000 Look, I think people need to take yes for an answer.

00:37:28.000 I'd like to get this done.

00:37:29.000 I think the guy with the most votes is probably Kevin McCarthy.

00:37:32.000 Although I'm not wedded to Kevin McCarthy, I don't care one way or the other.

00:37:36.000 I just want to get this moving.

00:37:39.000 But look, I think it's good that we're having a fight.

00:37:45.000 I just don't think this is the right fight to be having day after day after day.

00:37:50.000 I think the rebels are going to have to come out and make very clear exactly here are the specific demands that we have that we want, and then we'll elect Kevin McCarthy if he agrees to them.

00:38:02.000 But we haven't seen that.

00:38:03.000 And it allows the McCarthy side to effectively paint these people as confused or scattered or self-serving.

00:38:12.000 So I'd like to see this get behind us.

00:38:16.000 But, you know, at the end of the day, Kevin McCarthy had to round up 218 votes, hasn't done that yet.

00:38:24.000 It's kind of like Kevin.

00:38:25.000 And so I also, my advice to the Freedom Caucus when they called last evening is you guys have to have very clear, if the position is I'm never going to vote for Kevin, then say that.

00:38:36.000 Then don't even go through the motions of negotiating, okay?

00:38:40.000 Yes.

00:38:40.000 But if you say there's a chance, then tell us what you need to have conceded.

00:38:46.000 Make a list of three to five items.

00:38:49.000 And they start talking about the rules committee.

00:38:50.000 And I said to one of the members, I'd had a 20-minute phone call.

00:38:52.000 I said, I don't know what the rules committee is, and I'm in the business of politics.

00:38:57.000 I said, I have to look it up.

00:38:58.000 And they say, well, it's the most important thing.

00:39:00.000 I said, then explain it.

00:39:02.000 No, you're absolutely correct.

00:39:04.000 Look, I'm a lawyer.

00:39:05.000 I stand in front of 12 people who couldn't figure out a way out of jury duty.

00:39:09.000 And I ask them to give my clients millions of dollars, like it says on that wall there.

00:39:13.000 You've got to explain things from people because you're bringing them into a new world, whether it's a auto accident or an aircraft crash or the House of Representatives.

00:39:24.000 Explain them the facts.

00:39:25.000 Let them make their call.

00:39:27.000 12 people that couldn't get out of jury duty.

00:39:29.000 That's great.

00:39:29.000 Kurt, I will say one of the reasons this is happening is because the Uniparty and DC has ignored their constituents for so long.

00:39:38.000 This seems to be kind of an opportunity finally for some of the rebels to get some of that energy out.

00:39:45.000 Would you agree with that?

00:39:46.000 Oh, I think that's absolutely true.

00:39:49.000 And I, I, you know, this eventually had to happen.

00:39:52.000 And the compromises that need to be made need to be made.

00:39:57.000 I'm, I, I, I, the way the house has been running out of regular order for a decade or more has just been a complete disaster.

00:40:08.000 And we're seeing a pushback.

00:40:10.000 It had to happen sometime.

00:40:12.000 It is happening now because they have the power, because Kevin McCarthy and the Republicans didn't manage to get a red tsunami.

00:40:20.000 Instead, they got a red splash.

00:40:22.000 That's a consequence.

00:40:23.000 So this fight had to happen.

00:40:25.000 I don't think it had to happen this way.

00:40:27.000 I think it should have been taken care of between November and now, but everybody was playing chicken.

00:40:35.000 And well, this is chicken.

00:40:36.000 And sometimes the chicken, you know, you crash.

00:40:40.000 I think, you know, I think we could take a couple days of this.

00:40:45.000 I think after that, we're going to start looking bad and it's going to start running down our brand, not with the very online people, but with normal people, with regular folks.

00:40:56.000 And that's a problem.

00:40:58.000 We need to get into building mode.

00:41:00.000 We need to be preparing for 2024.

00:41:03.000 This fight had to happen sometime.

00:41:04.000 It didn't have to happen now.

00:41:06.000 It should have happened a few weeks ago.

00:41:09.000 But it's here.

00:41:10.000 It's got to be resolved.

00:41:12.000 That means we need a clear understanding of what the demands are.

00:41:16.000 And then Kevin McCarthy needs to accept them.

00:41:19.000 Yeah.

00:41:19.000 And I also think.

00:41:21.000 And if not, oh well.

00:41:23.000 And if I were to say something on air to Kevin McCarthy, it's really not about Kevin personally, even though it's manifested into that.

00:41:31.000 This is pent up multi-year rage that these members have for good reason because they have seen for quite some time $1.7 trillion omnibus, Ukraine, you know, open southern border, being able to send money to go, you know, secure the border of Tunisia, Oman, Lebanon, and Pakistan, but not a dollar to secure our own border.

00:41:55.000 And eventually you go full network and you say, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

00:42:01.000 But there's a good way to do that, a constructive way, a prudent way.

00:42:06.000 And then there is an unhealthy way.

00:42:07.000 I don't think they're necessarily in the unhealthy.

00:42:10.000 I think calling these people terrorists and Taliban, I think it's super wrong.

00:42:14.000 I think it's awful.

00:42:15.000 It's not right.

00:42:16.000 But I think there has to be a place where, like, okay, you got that out of your system.

00:42:20.000 Now what?

00:42:21.000 Kurt, final thoughts.

00:42:23.000 At some point, you have to take yes for an answer. 0.98

00:42:26.000 This, you know, you're a terrorist Taliban. 1.00

00:42:28.000 That's just stupid. 1.00

00:42:29.000 And they should stop that. 1.00

00:42:31.000 The threats don't make threats.

00:42:34.000 You can't back up.

00:42:34.000 Kevin has no heat because he'll have a five-seat majority at best.

00:42:40.000 He doesn't have heat.

00:42:41.000 It requires a greater level of leadership.

00:42:43.000 Look, I blame Kevin McCarthy for this because he's not getting it done.

00:42:48.000 McConnell didn't get it done.

00:42:49.000 Rona McDaniel's certainly not getting it done. 0.99

00:42:51.000 And you ought to call your committee member and tell him to vote her out.

00:42:55.000 Yes.

00:42:56.000 Kevin McCarthy has a chance to get it done.

00:42:59.000 He needs to do that.

00:43:01.000 I don't mind that there's this fight.

00:43:03.000 This has to be done.

00:43:04.000 This is a consequence.

00:43:05.000 But we need to get together.

00:43:07.000 We need a clear understanding of what the demands are.

00:43:10.000 We need a compromise.

00:43:11.000 We need to get it done.

00:43:14.000 Yeah.

00:43:14.000 Look, I understand the rage.

00:43:16.000 I understand the anger.

00:43:17.000 And I think you got Crenshaw going out there and saying, these people are enemies.

00:43:22.000 Like, calm down.

00:43:23.000 All right.

00:43:24.000 When we want to go invade Tanzania, you'll be first in line. 1.00

00:43:27.000 All right, I got it.

00:43:28.000 You know, if we want to colonize Sri Lanka, I'll call up Dan Crenshaw.

00:43:32.000 These people are nothing more than conduits for a very angry populace.

00:43:38.000 Now, how we solve that anger requires maturity and responsibility, and that's what comes next.

00:43:44.000 Kurt, thank you so much.
