00:01:29.000 You know, when I got out of college, I'm third generation running my business.
00:01:33.000 Okay.
00:01:33.000 But when I got out of college, we were doing $600,000 a year and we were buffing cards and body shops.
00:01:39.000 That was our business.
00:01:41.000 And I was an introvert.
00:01:43.000 Okay.
00:01:44.000 Are you still?
00:01:45.000 Not anymore because I started sharing my faith, got me out of that.
00:01:47.000 But I literally followed Karen around and we'd walk into rooms of people.
00:01:52.000 She doesn't, she never knows a stranger.
00:01:54.000 And I would walk, people say, well, you can share your faith because you're an extrovert.
00:01:59.000 No, actually, I was more than an introvert.
00:02:02.000 And they said, well, you can smile because you got that business.
00:02:04.000 You guys said, no, I actually had a very small business.
00:02:07.000 Karen gave me $5 a week.
00:02:09.000 I lived on $5 a week.
00:02:11.000 And we counted every penny.
00:02:13.000 But even then, we gave sacrificially of our money that we didn't have.
00:02:17.000 We gave of our time.
00:02:18.000 We volunteered for everything, but we didn't have joy.
00:02:22.000 And we kept saying, why do we not have joy?
00:02:24.000 God, where's this joy thing?
00:02:27.000 We were getting sniffing at each other.
00:02:28.000 We said, we're getting babysitters every night.
00:02:30.000 We're going out.
00:02:30.000 We're doing all this stuff for the church, for the Lord, like we're trying to earn our way to heaven.
00:02:34.000 You know, it's like, oh, look back now.
00:02:36.000 We're trying to be good enough that God will bless us, which is absurd, of course.
00:02:41.000 And so we started praying for joy.
00:02:43.000 And after a few weeks, we went to a luncheon at our church, 50th anniversary of the church, and the speaker was Herr Bellingwood.
00:02:50.000 Now, Her Bellingwood was the legal affairs secretary for Ronald Reagan, Governor Ronald Reagan.
00:02:56.000 Okay, I'm dating myself.
00:02:57.000 This is 1973.
00:02:58.000 Okay.
00:02:59.000 And I was assigned the seat right beside him, as God would have it.
00:03:03.000 And for an hour before he spoke, he talked nonstop, not about Reagan, never mentioned Reagan.
00:03:08.000 I never thought about Reagan.
00:03:10.000 He told me, he gave me an hour of stories of, and then I was in the store last night and he was crying and he was laughing and he was just crazy in love with God.
00:03:21.000 And I walked away and I'd never put joy together with sharing faith, sharing faith, somebody did, but it was just like it was agonizing.
00:03:28.000 And I didn't want to do it.
00:03:29.000 I did because I had to do it, you know.
00:03:31.000 And here he's having fun doing it.
00:03:33.000 It never occurred to me.
00:03:34.000 So I walked away and said, I will, what he has.
00:03:37.000 Cheers.
00:03:39.000 I said that.
00:03:39.000 And I told Karen, I said, we got to get busy and start changing our lives.
00:03:43.000 So we started sharing our faith.
00:03:44.000 You know, within about three or four weeks, we just know we have joy.
00:03:49.000 It's not happiness.
00:03:51.000 Happiness comes and goes.
00:03:52.000 You will be happy several times a day.
00:03:55.000 Lunch wasn't that good today, or it was really great.
00:03:58.000 Or I made this sale today.
00:03:59.000 Or I met somebody today, or whatever.
00:04:02.000 It comes and goes.
00:04:02.000 It's circumstantial.
00:04:03.000 Joy is not circumstantial.
00:04:05.000 Joy is just having the joy of the Lord.
00:04:08.000 It's an entirely different process.
00:04:09.000 And then you overcome everything.
00:04:12.000 So then we found this scripture in John 15:11.
00:04:16.000 You know, it's that last parable where Jesus used the fig tree as the example.
00:04:19.000 And he says, When you bear fruit, when you bear Christians, ah, therein you're my disciple.
00:04:25.000 And my joy will remain with you, and your joy will remain full.
00:04:30.000 Wow.
00:04:31.000 That's powerful.
00:04:32.000 And so that just encourages us all the more.
00:04:35.000 And so God inspired me to go retail.
00:04:38.000 And, you know, it's with one product.
00:04:41.000 And it was just a miracle how he taught me the retail business and the label we have, too much to go into, but just one miracle after another.
00:04:47.000 I realize he's actually helped me in my business.
00:04:49.000 But I'm sharing my faith so much, I think God wants you to lead me off into ministry.
00:04:53.000 So here's the watershed that I'll let you ask more questions, but it's pretty quite a moment.
00:04:58.000 And probably a lot of our viewers and listeners are knowing what I'm saying.
00:05:02.000 What do you want me to do with my life?
00:05:04.000 Right.
00:05:05.000 And I felt like he was leading me to full-time ministry.
00:05:08.000 And as much as I love shiny cars and I love my business, and I'm the third generation later, I said to God in tears, there's the most fervent prayer of my life.
00:05:14.000 I said, God, I just want to do what you want me to do.
00:05:18.000 You owe me.
00:05:19.000 I just want to do.
00:05:20.000 But you always have to tell me in an audible voice, if you want me to leave my business, I will.
00:05:25.000 And about 20 minutes later, a guy named Dave McNutt walked into my office.
00:05:29.000 He was announced.
00:05:30.000 The secretary brought him in, but I'd never spoken to him.
00:05:32.000 I knew him from the church.
00:05:34.000 He's my age, but I knew he grew up in the mission field.
00:05:36.000 He's a missionary kid.
00:05:38.000 What's he doing in my office?
00:05:39.000 And he walks, he says, Hi, Barris in the air.
00:05:41.000 I thought I'd stop by and see how you're doing.
00:05:43.000 And I made a snap decision.
00:05:44.000 He wasn't into shiny cars and cool cars.
00:05:47.000 So I started telling people I'm sharing stories about people I share my faith with.
00:05:51.000 And he says, God's given you a wonderful ministry here, hadn't he?
00:05:54.000 Whoa, I just waited after praying that prayer.
00:05:58.000 I said, why would you say that?
00:06:00.000 He said, well, you're reaching these people so easily.
00:06:03.000 And they're people a pastor couldn't reach, but you can easily as a businessman.
00:06:07.000 He gave me this line, 1976.
00:06:10.000 It's obvious that your business is your pulpit.
00:06:13.000 And that goes for everybody listening to us right now.
00:06:15.000 Where we are, that's our pulpit.
00:06:17.000 That's our basis.
00:06:19.000 I said, why?
00:06:20.000 I can't believe this.
00:06:21.000 I just prayed this fair not 20 minutes ago.
00:06:24.000 He said, well, that explains it.
00:06:25.000 I said, explains what?
00:06:27.000 He says, I just dropped missionaries off at Orange County Airport.
00:06:30.000 I was driving up Red Hill, the closest Main Street to my office, and God spoke to me and said, Go see Barry Maguire.
00:06:38.000 And he said, I argue with God all the way to your office saying, I don't know this guy.
00:06:42.000 I'm going to make a fool out of myself.
00:06:43.000 But God wouldn't let me go.
00:06:45.000 It's also a lesson of obedience.
00:06:46.000 If he'd not been obedient, I would have been a failure as a pastor.
00:06:49.000 I'm a businessman, you know.
00:06:51.000 But when he told me that, I realized that they don't overlap.
00:06:55.000 Everything is ministry.
00:06:56.000 All of us are in full-time ministry.
00:06:59.000 For us, there's nothing secular.
00:07:02.000 And I realized my business was secondary always.
00:07:06.000 And if I got turned down when I'm trying to sell my product, I'm still going to love on the buyer and minister to him.
00:07:14.000 And the idea is just move everybody every day closer to Jesus, whether it's the operator on the phone or the person sitting next to us in the waiting room or whatever.
00:07:20.000 Just find a way to just love on them and it ignites your life.
00:07:24.000 And of course, that's a story.
00:07:25.000 There's a great book out.

00:07:30.000 And that's a story of 50 years of finding this truth of the scriptures that I often say when I'm speaking.
00:07:36.000 I'm 80 years old.
00:07:38.000 Who knew the scriptures actually work?
00:07:41.000 Every one of them, they're real.
00:07:42.000 Yes, they are.
00:07:43.000 And that's exciting.
00:07:44.000 And I've seen this.
00:07:45.000 I've seen this in person.
00:07:47.000 It's an amazing thing.
00:07:49.000 The first time I think I met you in person, I could be wrong, was at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel at some meeting that was.
00:07:55.000 It was a Trump.
00:07:56.000 Yeah.
00:07:56.000 It was a Trump hotel.
00:07:58.000 Okay.
00:07:58.000 It was the Trump deal.
00:07:59.000 Yeah.
00:07:59.000 And I saw you go up to waiters, the bellhops.
00:08:04.000 And I'll be, I was, I mean, you were just kind of challenging me.
00:08:08.000 I was like, wow, what kind of Christian am I?
00:08:10.000 I mean, this guy with just like youthful spry energy was, you're right.
00:08:15.000 It was the Trump lobby, was working the Trump lobby, and you weren't selling insurance.
00:08:19.000 No, and you weren't trying to get people's information for some sort of vitamin selling scheme.
00:08:26.000 You were trying to get people to give their life to Jesus.
00:08:29.000 Yeah, and I tell you, sometimes I feel like a pinball machine where it's bouncing like this.
00:08:33.000 And sometimes there's a day when it's quiet.
00:08:34.000 But let me say something real quick.
00:08:36.000 I'm not a Jesus freak.
00:08:38.000 I don't offend anybody.
00:08:39.000 I don't want people running for you.
00:08:40.000 Oh, you get there, Samaria.
00:08:42.000 Oh, you're not Jesus.
00:08:44.000 Because you know what?
00:08:45.000 That's the last thing it is.
00:08:46.000 But when you just let people know, you just touch people, if nothing else, say, have a good day.
00:08:52.000 And you just touch them slightly and say, and you look them in the eye.
00:08:55.000 You don't say, God bless you.
00:08:57.000 You look them in the eye and say, and God bless you.
00:08:59.000 It takes a half a second.
00:09:01.000 You know, half the time, half the time, tears will come to their eyes.
00:09:05.000 Wow.
00:09:06.000 Tears will come to their eyes.
00:09:08.000 Everybody is looking for God.
00:09:10.000 Everybody's hurting and nobody cares.
00:09:14.000 Most people can't believe God loves them.
00:09:16.000 So we're his messenger.
00:09:17.000 We get to, you know, in the message, it says we carry this precious gift around in the clay pots of our ordinary lives.
00:09:25.000 And that's where the fun is.
00:09:27.000 And most Christians are not getting in on the fun.
00:09:30.000 And the fund ignites your life.
00:09:32.000 You have done this every day for 50 years.
00:09:35.000 Yeah.
00:09:36.000 50 years.
00:09:37.000 Well, technically, it was 1973.
00:09:40.000 So technically, I'm three years short of, so only 47.
00:09:44.000 I've only been really powerful.
00:09:46.000 I want to come to that 50th anniversary party though.
00:09:49.000 And not that it matters, but do you have any measurement of how many people you think?
00:09:54.000 No.
00:09:54.000 And they come.
00:09:55.000 I had a guy yesterday come up to me.
00:09:56.000 He gave me a whole lineage of how I prayed for him and what that prayer did for his life.
00:10:01.000 And it was 30 years ago.
00:10:02.000 I don't remember the conversation.
00:10:04.000 I didn't let him know that.
00:10:06.000 But people come up regularly.
00:10:07.000 When you do it enough times, they start coming back.
00:10:09.000 But you also do it out of obedience too.
00:10:11.000 The outcome is up to the Lord.
00:10:13.000 You know, it was obedience.
00:10:15.000 Now it's kind of selfish because the more you do it, the more fun it is.
00:10:21.000 And it's exhilarating.
00:10:23.000 It's like, wow, God just used me.
00:10:25.000 I pedaled car wax.
00:10:27.000 And you just, you just use me to change that life.

00:11:30.000 But, you know, the Bible tells us 365 times this word, this phrase is repeated, fear not.

00:11:42.000 So it's a pretty strong message.
00:11:44.000 So obviously God's not happy with fear.
00:11:46.000 I hear too many pastors talking about how they're all worried and fear and whatever, but God got them out of it.
00:11:52.000 Like we endorse fear.
00:11:53.000 I fall into that trap too.
00:11:54.000 I'll be very honest.
00:11:56.000 And I shouldn't.
00:11:57.000 And we have to, we have to, yeah.
00:11:59.000 Well, when we're in fear, you know, in James 1, if we're in fear, we're wavering, right?
00:12:05.000 And James 1 makes it very clear.
00:12:07.000 You ask, I'll give it to you, but don't waver.
00:12:11.000 If you're waiver, you're like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and toss.
00:12:15.000 A double-minded man is unstable all his ways.
00:12:18.000 Let not that person expect to receive anything from me.
00:12:21.000 So, folks, if you're praying and worrying, and I would say about 80% of you listening to us right now are doing that, and you're wondering why your prayers aren't being answered, then that's a problem.
00:12:33.000 That explains it.
00:12:34.000 So, the question is, how do we get to unwavering faith?
00:12:36.000 And the byline on this book is defeat fear with effortless faith.
00:12:43.000 And I've not heard that message, but I've experienced that message.
00:12:46.000 Explain to me what that means.
00:12:50.000 You would not put that with sharing your faith.
00:12:53.000 Sharing your faith is a thing that's not even mentioned from the pulpit anymore.
00:12:57.000 Or if they mention it, they don't tell you how.
00:12:58.000 So you're left just to try to figure it out.
00:13:02.000 We tell you how on our website and whatever in this book.
00:13:05.000 But if you don't have faith, then if you're living in fear, you don't have faith, and then you can't share your faith.
00:13:13.000 So how do you get to the point where you have wholehearted faith?
00:13:17.000 It just has a waiver.
00:13:18.000 What do you mean by effortless faith?
00:13:20.000 Okay.
00:13:21.000 Can I give you a life story very quick?
00:13:22.000 Of course.
00:13:23.000 I have many of them.
00:13:24.000 I lost my daughter.
00:13:25.000 Karen and I lost our daughter four years ago.
00:13:28.000 And we had effortless faith.
00:13:29.000 I could go into that, but I'm just going to pick one story.
00:13:32.000 I was in the hospital in 2010.
00:13:34.000 I was dying.
00:13:34.000 Doctors gave up on me.
00:13:35.000 People were coming from all over the country to talk to me and get less rights.
00:13:39.000 David Wilkerson and his wife came from New York to be with me.
00:13:42.000 You know, the only two people who were not convinced I was dying was Carrot of me.
00:13:47.000 And I decided, you know what, God, if I'm going to die, I don't think I am, but if I am, I'm going to die trying to lead as many people to you as I can.
00:13:53.000 It became a game.
00:13:55.000 And everybody came through that door was another person.
00:13:57.000 I got to move closer to Jesus.
00:13:59.000 And when I got out of the hospital, I counted 23 different doctors and nurses that I'd had serious conversations in prayer with.
00:14:05.000 You know, there's always purpose in it.
00:14:07.000 God wants everything to be good.
00:14:09.000 I'll get to that in just a second.
00:14:10.000 But if he wants everything to be good, when the bad comes in your life, it's good.
00:14:14.000 It doesn't look like it's good, but it's good.
00:14:17.000 Mrs. D'Amato was dying in the hospital.
00:14:19.000 Godly lady, godly, godly, godly lady.
00:14:22.000 And she died with pain.
00:14:24.000 They couldn't stop the pain.
00:14:26.000 Three weeks in the hospital, and she died.
00:14:28.000 I went to a funeral mad.
00:14:30.000 I was mad.
00:14:31.000 I mean, God knows I was mad, stupid, but I was mad.
00:14:35.000 And then three nurses got up, three different nurses told the same story in their own words.
00:14:41.000 I didn't know God until I met Mrs. D'Amato.
00:14:45.000 And I couldn't believe that she'd have so much joy in the midst of her pain.
00:14:49.000 And I asked her how she did that.
00:14:50.000 And she told me about Jesus Christ.
00:14:52.000 And she led all three of those doses to the nurses to the Lord.
00:14:55.000 One said, the day she died, I was walking by the aisle, the hallway, and I heard her singing a hymn.
00:15:02.000 Do you think Mrs. D'Amato was bothered about that pain when she got to realize three more people came into heaven?
00:15:07.000 So here's how effortless faith works.
00:15:11.000 My family sold out to a vulture venture capitalist, okay?
00:15:17.000 And they had half the company I had, half the company.
00:15:20.000 And so they said, okay, we'll have three board members.
00:15:22.000 You have three board members.
00:15:23.000 And then we appoint an independent board member.
00:15:25.000 What I didn't know was they always bought off the independent board member.
00:15:28.000 That's what they did.
00:15:29.000 And so I found out after five years, they're throwing me out of my business the next day, the next morning, at a conference call board meeting.
00:15:36.000 This is my reputation, my life, 65 years old.
00:15:40.000 You're going to get the punchline after we come back.
00:15:43.000 I mean, I was done.
00:15:44.000 My testimony was going.
00:15:45.000 That's Barry McGuire, the Christian.
00:15:46.000 He lost its company.
00:15:47.000 And I had no fear.
00:15:48.000 I had effortless faith.
00:15:52.000 That does connect with a current news story in some ways about some board drama happening with Project Veritas.
00:15:59.000 That's unrelated, but related in some way.

00:17:50.000 You have a hundred-year-old business, your dad, your granddad, it's your whole life, and you found out tomorrow morning it's going to be ripped from you.
00:17:59.000 Yeah, well, you've lost your income, you've lost your reputation.
00:18:02.000 I've lost my testimony.
00:18:03.000 That's Barry McGuire, the Christian.
00:18:05.000 He just lost his company, you know.
00:18:07.000 So, had I not had effortless faith, I would have probably walked the floor all night in this wet case.
00:18:15.000 But I didn't.
00:18:16.000 I just prayed, I prayed a very simple prayer.
00:18:18.000 And this was not the first time.
00:18:20.000 So, you know, it grows and you grow in confidence.
00:18:23.000 You get over one challenge, he gives you a bigger challenge.
00:18:25.000 You get over that, he'll give you a bigger challenge.
00:18:27.000 This one set me up so that I could be ready for when my daughter died.
00:18:30.000 Okay, that was the biggest challenge of all.

00:18:42.000 So, at the end of the day, my normal prayer, I almost didn't pray at all, quite frankly.

00:18:48.000 I said, God, I asked you for nothing.
00:18:51.000 I asked you for nothing.
00:18:52.000 I'm good.
00:18:53.000 I'm good because of two things.
00:18:57.000 You know, I live for your purpose, and I know you keep your word.
00:19:02.000 And so, I'll see you in the morning.
00:19:05.000 And that was my prayer.
00:19:08.000 And I went to sleep immediately, and I didn't stir.
00:19:11.000 God's my judge right now.
00:19:13.000 Strike me dead, God.
00:19:14.000 This is exactly what happened.
00:19:15.000 People say, No, that's impossible.
00:19:16.000 No, no, that's actually what I did.
00:19:18.000 I slept soundly.
00:19:19.000 This is effortless faith.
00:19:21.000 I got up the next morning fresh.
00:19:23.000 I went to my attorney's office to see how God was going to solve the problem.
00:19:28.000 And he did in about eight minutes.
00:19:32.000 The joint venture partner had all the cards, all the money, everything, and God reversed it like in eight minutes.
00:19:41.000 You got to read the book to find out.
00:19:43.000 But I just broke out laughing.
00:19:45.000 God, you are so good.
00:19:46.000 I could have worried all night.
00:19:48.000 Folks, whatever you're in, worry is overrated.
00:19:52.000 It doesn't help you at all.
00:19:55.000 And Jesus was very clear about that.
00:19:58.000 He says, faith, without faith, it's impossible to please God.
00:20:00.000 So, how do we get to that point of faith?
00:20:02.000 All right.
00:20:03.000 That's the question.
00:20:04.000 Barry, how do you do that?
00:20:05.000 Well, I said, you know, God, I live for your purpose and you keep your word because I think Romans 8, 28, quite frankly, is the least understood, maybe certainly one of the most well-known, but one of the least understood scriptures in the Bible.
00:20:19.000 Well, tell me where else in the Bible where he says, I promise you, Charlie, I promise you, Bob, Charon, whoever's out there, I promise everybody listening to me right now.
00:20:28.000 He's promised you to make everything in your life work together for good.
00:20:32.000 Oh, but there's two things.
00:20:35.000 If you do two things, shouldn't we be hearing sermons on what those two things are?
00:20:40.000 I would think we would, but I've never heard a sermon on that.
00:20:43.000 I've never, in all my years, I've never heard a sermon.
00:20:45.000 I just experienced it.
00:20:46.000 First off, he says, if you love thee, I've asked hundreds of Christians, quote the verse.
00:20:51.000 Almost none can quote the last part.
00:20:53.000 They get the loving God part, but it's not just loving God.
00:20:56.000 It is loving God with all heart, mind, so and so.
00:20:59.000 God just nothing's first love.
00:21:01.000 He owns us.
00:21:02.000 Being called to his purpose.
00:21:03.000 And called to his purpose is never mentioned in sermons that I've heard, but this is critically important.
00:21:09.000 He said, to those who love me, to those who are called according to my purpose, his purpose, there's no question about it.
00:21:15.000 His purpose is to seek and save the lost.
00:21:17.000 So when we live our lives to seek and save the lost, we live in the promise of Romans 8:28.
00:21:25.000 The perfect segue in transition.
00:21:27.000 So let's get into the nitty-gritty of it.
00:21:29.000 Let's get into the details.
00:21:31.000 You are teaching the master class.
00:21:33.000 It's the crash course.
00:21:34.000 It's evangelism 101.
00:21:36.000 All right.
00:21:36.000 Yeah.
00:21:36.000 So how do you share your faith?
00:21:38.000 What are the specifics?
00:21:39.000 First thing you do, you forget everything you've been told.
00:21:41.000 Okay.
00:21:41.000 I love that.
00:21:43.000 There's nothing.
00:21:43.000 I mean, I thank God for all evangelism programs and they will and millions who have brought to the Lord.
00:21:48.000 I don't want to put those down.
00:21:49.000 Sure.
00:21:49.000 But most of us will never go to an evangelism class.
00:21:52.000 Most of us will never have apologetics learning.
00:21:55.000 Most of us are like me.
00:21:56.000 I peddle car wax.
00:21:57.000 I don't know from nothing.
00:21:57.000 All I know from practical experience, I know God loves me.
00:22:00.000 I've never argued with anybody.
00:22:02.000 I've never been attacked by anybody.
00:22:04.000 They brush those who are persecuted.
00:22:05.000 I've never been persecuted.
00:22:06.000 You don't get persecuted when you tell people, you know, God loves you.
00:22:11.000 It's so simple.
00:22:12.000 Get that message across.
00:22:13.000 I stepped in an elevator a while back and there's four huge black guys with their gold chains.
00:22:19.000 They were scary dudes, you know.
00:22:21.000 And I'm sitting here, I'm a little white guy with white tie, you know.
00:22:25.000 And I said, oh, you got, what did I say?
00:22:26.000 What did I say?
00:22:27.000 And he brings you the words.
00:22:28.000 I just said, hey, guys, do you know God loves you?
00:22:33.000 And they think I hate them because they're black.
00:22:35.000 I don't.
00:22:35.000 I love them.
00:22:36.000 And I know God loves them.
00:22:37.000 I said, isn't that cool?
00:22:39.000 No, serious, seriously.
00:22:40.000 Do you know God loves you?
00:22:42.000 They're looking at me.
00:22:42.000 I said, he really does.
00:22:43.000 I'm a Christian.
00:22:44.000 I can tell you, God loves you.
00:22:45.000 In fact, he loves you as much as he's ever loved anybody.
00:22:47.000 Isn't that cool?
00:22:48.000 They're going, oh, wow.
00:22:50.000 My door opened, thankfully.
00:22:52.000 I said, have a nice night.

00:23:05.000 And I tell the guy, I'm just going to, I'm just going to go a short trial.

00:23:15.000 Why don't you want a tip?

00:23:19.000 Now, if you're not in this frame of mind, you're thinking, how did I get into God?
00:23:22.000 Had you put me in this car?
00:23:23.000 What am I doing?
00:23:24.000 I'm going to jump out the first set.
00:23:26.000 I said, see, the scriptures tell us don't prepare.
00:23:32.000 Mark 13, 11 says, don't prepare.
00:23:36.000 Luke 12, 12 says, the Holy Spirit will give you the words to say.
00:23:40.000 And so there's no pressure.
00:23:42.000 You can't prepare yourself for these conversations.
00:23:44.000 You don't know where they're going to go.
00:23:46.000 And I said, do you know God loves you?
00:23:49.000 Yeah, yeah, God loves you.
00:23:51.000 No, I said, excuse me, sir.
00:23:53.000 I got to tell you, I'm a Christian.
00:23:55.000 I know the Bible.
00:23:56.000 He loves you.
00:23:56.000 Dead quiet.
00:23:58.000 I said, do you know it gets better?
00:24:00.000 He loves you as much as he's ever loved anybody ever.
00:24:03.000 Dead quiet.
00:24:04.000 I said, you know, it gets even better.
00:24:05.000 Do you know he loves you as much as he loves his own son, Jesus Christ?
00:24:09.000 Dead quiet.
00:24:10.000 I get out of the car.
00:24:10.000 It's snowing.
00:24:11.000 Puts the window down.
00:24:12.000 You know, the salt in the window.
00:24:14.000 He's looking at it.
00:24:15.000 He didn't know what to say.
00:24:16.000 I said, God put me in this car because he wants you to know that he loves you and he wants you to spend eternity with him.
00:24:23.000 And then I give a really big tip.
00:24:25.000 I walked away.
00:24:27.000 Yes.
00:24:27.000 And you know what?
00:24:28.000 I walk away.
00:24:29.000 I look up, not every time, but most of the times, and I see, I picture Jesus smiling at me.
00:24:35.000 You know, we can grieve him, but we can give Jesus.
00:24:38.000 Do you know what you can give Jesus joy?
00:24:41.000 And it's the joy of the Lord that gives me strength.
00:24:43.000 It's not my joy.
00:24:45.000 I just gave him joy.
00:24:47.000 What does that do for me?
00:24:48.000 Like, talk about a jig.
00:24:50.000 I'm like, yes, thank you.
00:24:52.000 Thank you.
00:24:53.000 And that opportunity is all day long.
00:24:56.000 Every day, it's just distill that into kind of a bullet point format.

00:25:04.000 No prepare at all.

00:25:11.000 And, you know, always be ready to give a clear presentation.

00:25:17.000 We should all be that way where it's like, you see, an opening for the, you can drive to the movie.
00:25:21.000 You're going to go, you know, you're going to make that extra effort for the devil play.
00:25:24.000 So you're, it's like sport to, and it's a team sport.
00:25:27.000 But you have to have the posture or the willingness to engage.
00:25:32.000 That you should, that's not preparation, right?
00:25:34.000 It is not.
00:25:35.000 It is so automatic.
00:25:37.000 You don't have to work on it.
00:25:39.000 I used to do all the stuff and I was so frustrated.
00:25:41.000 I'd say, God, you know, I need your help.
00:25:44.000 I'm so stupid.
00:25:45.000 You know, Jerry Root wrote this wonderful book, The Sacrament of Evangelism.
00:25:49.000 He says, you know, God is already sovereignly working with everybody you come up to and meet.
00:25:55.000 He's already there.
00:25:56.000 And when you come in, you're a physical manifestation of what God's already doing to that person, whether you see it or not.
00:26:02.000 It's a sacred moment.
00:26:04.000 Do you realize this?
00:26:05.000 Catch this thought.
00:26:06.000 I bounce it off a lot of theologians.
00:26:08.000 So absolutely true.
00:26:10.000 When God loves us, he's salvationing us.
00:26:14.000 Okay?
00:26:14.000 The entirety of his love is about salvationing us and bringing us to heaven.
00:26:18.000 You follow that.
00:26:19.000 That's pretty interesting.
00:26:20.000 Here's the big part.
00:26:21.000 This is a life change.
00:26:22.000 This is a game changer.
00:26:23.000 Do you know when we're loving other people, we're salvationing other people?
00:26:29.000 It's not about, hey, I love you, man.
00:26:31.000 No, no, no.
00:26:32.000 This is every conversation is a sacred conversation.
00:26:36.000 Every single one, every waitress, every valet, every person on the street, everybody's lost.
00:26:42.000 Everybody's lost.
00:26:44.000 And you get the nudge.
00:26:46.000 And you know, oh, I'm too busy.
00:26:48.000 I'll be embarrassed.
00:26:49.000 You know, you have all these excuses.
00:26:51.000 When you fall in the nudge, you live in the fog.
00:26:53.000 You live in the favor of God.
00:26:55.000 But if I were to say on the one or two, three-point checklist, when you have the nudge, you must act on it.
00:27:01.000 Yeah.
00:27:02.000 I say, follow the nudge, live in the fog.
00:27:04.000 Follow the nudge.
00:27:05.000 We know what everybody listens to us right now knows the nudge.
00:27:09.000 They just got bad news.
00:27:09.000 I should call.
00:27:10.000 They got cancer.
00:27:11.000 But I don't know what to tell them.
00:27:13.000 You don't have to.
00:27:14.000 Just call them and allow the Holy Spirit.
00:27:16.000 And when he does, he brings the remembrance scriptures you haven't thought of for years.
00:27:21.000 It's the most amazing.
00:27:22.000 I just fed a car walks.
00:27:23.000 I know different everybody listening to us right now.
00:27:25.000 I'm not you.
00:27:26.000 I'm not a pastor.
00:27:27.000 I've not been to a seminary.
00:27:29.000 This is just for those of us who are laymen.
00:27:31.000 How can we be used by God?
00:27:32.000 And he wants to use us every moment of every day.
00:27:35.000 And when we do that, we're off the bench and into the game.
00:27:38.000 And guess what?
00:27:39.000 I'm digging because I need more information to answer the questions.
00:27:42.000 And I'm praying for the people I was with today and praying for the people I'm going to be with tomorrow.
00:27:46.000 And everything works.
00:27:48.000 That's why it's the great commission.
00:27:49.000 This is the one thing he's mandated us to do for this reason.
00:27:54.000 This is great.
00:27:55.000 Isaiah 43, 10.
00:27:57.000 He says, actually, why?
00:27:58.000 Why?
00:27:59.000 Why is he pushing us?
00:28:01.000 Why is it the Great Commission, the most important thing we can do?
00:28:04.000 And why do we not want to do it?
00:28:05.000 Satan doesn't want us to do it because he knows.
00:28:07.000 And he says in Isaiah 43, 10, I appoint you as my witness so that you will believe.
00:28:14.000 Not that they will believe, so that you will believe.
00:28:16.000 It doesn't say believe more.
00:28:18.000 Because the intimacy with God, folks, the intimacy with God we have when we just go out and we just want love on people and the Holy Spirit speaks through us and confirms quickly to them your love is real.
00:28:31.000 And they're looking for love.
00:28:33.000 And within three, four minutes, they open up and they tell you things they wouldn't tell their best friends.
00:28:37.000 And you, oh my goodness, and they all come to scripture.
00:28:40.000 Where did that come from?
00:28:42.000 And you get another scripture.
00:28:43.000 And all of a sudden, it's coming at you.
00:28:45.000 You're just like, and you pray a cryptic prayer.
00:28:50.000 It doesn't matter.
00:28:51.000 God will speak through you, even through your prayers.
00:28:53.000 And you see a life change in front of you.
00:28:55.000 I did that.
00:28:56.000 You do that.
00:28:57.000 And when you do that, you live in joy.
00:28:59.000 It's effortless face.
00:29:00.000 Then when bad stuff happens to you, you laugh because you're living in the promise of Romans 8, 28.
00:29:07.000 I promise you, I'll make everything work together for good.
00:29:10.000 Even when you're being thrown out of your business, even when your daughter dies, even when they tell you in the hospital, you're dying.
00:29:16.000 I got a whole lot more stories than that.
00:29:18.000 It's not that I've just, oh, I've just, why isn't Barry?
00:29:21.000 Why shouldn't Barry smile?
00:29:22.000 He's up there.
00:29:23.000 He's got this nice business.
00:29:24.000 He's got a beautiful wife, cards, you know, of course.
00:29:26.000 If I had that, I'd be smiling too.
00:29:28.000 No, I've been through hell and back.
00:29:30.000 And I found that when you do that, every one of those experiences brings us closer to him and confirms his faithfulness.
00:29:38.000 And I thank God for every bad thing Karen and I both do, every bad thing that's happened in our lives, because that's where we get our growth spurts.
00:29:45.000 And I think that's what he's doing with America right now.
00:29:49.000 He's bringing it on.
00:29:50.000 He's bringing the pressure on.
00:29:51.000 And it's not only word you go, God.
00:29:52.000 No, God's allowing Satan to do this for this purpose.
00:29:55.000 Do you know that 40%, this Pew just reported this, 40% of Americans, not Christians, 40% of Americans now believe we're in the last days.
00:30:05.000 Wow.
00:30:06.000 Do you think there might be, might be a little more open to God if they think we're in the last days?
00:30:11.000 And I'm finding now it's never been easier.
00:30:14.000 80% of the church are now looking for somebody to tell them about God.
00:30:17.000 And we get to do that.
00:30:19.000 We get to do that every moment.
00:30:21.000 I mean, it's just, I mean, we're in full-time ministry.
00:30:25.000 Everything we do and say is moving everybody watching us closer, further away from God all day long.
00:30:30.000 The book is ignite your life.
00:30:32.000 It will change your life.
00:30:34.000 It will.
00:30:37.000 Barry, we have five minutes.

00:30:41.000 Well, you know, we're called to be salt and light, right?

00:30:46.000 There's one characteristic that salt and light both share, and that is they both change their environment.
00:30:52.000 So, folks, the question is, are you sharing?
00:30:56.000 Are you making a difference in your, are you changing your environment or is your environment changing you?

00:31:05.000 Is the church changing our environment?
00:31:07.000 Is the environment changing our church?

00:31:09.000 Yeah, that's really smart.
00:31:11.000 The thing is, 100 years from now, it's not going to matter how many bottles of car wax I sold.

00:31:18.000 I mean, I'm a car guy, man.
00:31:20.000 I'm all in, you know, and you're not at it.

00:31:53.000 And if it did, how many people under your influence would be lost because you didn't take the time to share with them.
00:32:00.000 So we have that responsibility and that opportunity.
00:32:03.000 More importantly, when we do it, God just lights your life.
00:32:05.000 Do you want to have the time of your life for the rest of your life?
00:32:08.000 Just do what he's told us to do.
00:32:10.000 It's so simple.
00:32:11.000 And he didn't make it the great commission.
00:32:13.000 When you do that, God just blesses you and directs your steps and makes everything your life.
00:32:17.000 So your challenge right now is for every believer listening.

00:32:23.000 Move everybody every day closer to Jesus.

00:33:00.000 The worse it gets, the closer we are to Jesus, folks.
00:33:03.000 And every day gets better.
00:33:04.000 It doesn't matter.
00:33:06.000 Who knows?
00:33:06.000 I mean, bad things are going on.
00:33:08.000 It just says, when you see these things begin to happen, lift up and rejoice.
00:33:11.000 Your redemption draws die.
00:33:13.000 And don't just celebrate that.
00:33:14.000 But our time on earth is time enough to find out who he is and then help God get as many people in as we possibly can until we breathe our last breath.
00:33:23.000 And we do that.
00:33:24.000 When you do that, it'll ignites your life.
00:33:26.000 So now, Barry, I have a second question for the non-believers listening.
00:33:30.000 Oh, yeah.
00:33:31.000 Boy, boy.
00:33:33.000 If you're a non-believer, you need, you need to hold up that book just right quick.

00:33:39.000 This is for pure ministry.
00:33:42.000 When you read this book, this book is a salvation book.

00:33:46.000 And it will tell you how God actually intervenes in your life.

00:34:29.000 And so for people that are saying, you know, I'm not sure if I want to take that step, nothing could be more important than, you know, the date with eternity that you have.

00:34:43.000 And if you look at, I mean, we don't get on it, but the World Economic Forum and all the stuff that's...
