00:00:27.000And we also welcome Benny Johnson, who is also part of Turning Point USA, but he's got the Benny Show.
00:00:33.000He's got some great, phenomenal commentary and a new video that he just dropped.
00:00:37.000Man on the street in Nashville asking if the mug shot, if the indictments are having their intended effect, or does it make people more likely to vote for Trump?
00:00:45.000I think you'll find it incredibly intriguing content that we share with you.
00:01:12.000We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:02:01.000I think you guys are showing this show and this team that puts on this show that you support us and you support Charlie even when he is away.
00:03:05.000But we think of these as walking billboards for the truth, for justice against a weaponized DOJ.
00:03:14.000So normally it's not something we do, but you know, now we're all in.
00:03:17.000It's like, hey, listen, if you're going to perp walk Trump, if you're going to make him get a mug shot, then guess what?
00:03:22.000We're going to create billboards and you're going to have to face those billboards on the streets of real America with real supporters that defend this former president and potential future president.
00:03:34.000But I want to talk about this live stream.
00:04:38.000This is talking about how Fulton County is going to be televised.
00:04:43.000If you think the mugshot was one thing, which it was, wait until the American public is subjected to a trial with a pool feed, which means all the networks will take it.
00:04:57.000Watching the political persecution of a former United States president in real time.
00:05:06.000Former President Trump officially has pled not guilty in the Fulton County election interference case.
00:05:11.000Trump's team entered his plea yesterday for the 13 felony charges he faces, including racketeering and conspiracy.
00:05:18.000The plea was entered in writing as they filed a waiver to tell the court he would not appear for next week's scheduled arraignment.
00:05:25.000Former president's legal team also pushing to separate his case from the other co-defendants.
00:05:30.000The filing argues October 23rd is not enough time to prepare a defense.
00:05:36.000That date was set for the speedy trial of co-defendant Kenneth Cheesebrow.
00:05:40.000D.A. Fonney Willis asked a judge last week to set that date for the remainder of the co-defendants as well.
00:05:46.000When the trial date officially is set, there will be cameras in the courtroom.
00:05:50.000That decision confirmed by the judge yesterday.
00:05:53.000Hearings and proceedings related to the case will be televised and live streamed on the court's YouTube channel.
00:05:59.000It's the first of its kind in the history of our country that a former president will be subjected to a court trial live stream, pool camera, YouTube feed, the whole shebang.
00:06:12.000So let me take you down a little bit of memory row.
00:06:16.000After Trump shocked the world in 2016, the legacy news media went on an apology tour saying, sorry, sorry, sorry for covering him.
00:06:25.000We know we contributed to helping get elected, but it was inadvertent.
00:06:57.000It was really, we're complicit in Hitler becoming president because we covered it because it was a good story.
00:07:03.000We didn't think he had a shot, a snowball chance in hell to win, but he did.
00:07:09.000And our bad, we're going to stop covering him.
00:07:12.000And from that day, they never covered a rally.
00:07:15.000They never gave him any fair coverage.
00:07:17.000In fact, it was pushed to the brink of lunacy, probably well over it.
00:07:21.000They colluded with deep state actors, the administrative state and Democrats to lie, slander, abuse him, and to ultimately impeach him and attempt to remove him from office.
00:07:33.000But with each step, you could feel that they were nevertheless obsessed with Trump.
00:07:55.000Now Fannie Willis has changed the game.
00:07:58.000Now they are obligated journalistically, we use that in air quotes, to cover the first of its kind Trump trial of a former president on live TV being victimized, martyred before a weaponized judicial system, before millions and millions and millions of eyeballs through legacy media, through their pipes, their infrastructure.
00:08:24.000They'll be forced to see it in real time.
00:08:27.000What our nation has become, what they have subjected a former president to.
00:08:33.000So yes, it's an injustice that he's even being tried.
00:08:38.000And yes, we don't exactly know how the voters are going to react, but there is very good evidence that the voters in the middle, the independents, the squishy Republicans that thought they hated Trump but could never pull the lever for him again.
00:08:54.000Now you got Karl Rove going on Wall Street, the Wall Street Journal op-ed saying, listen, these trials are going to drag out and it's going to drag down his favorables and Republicans are going to bleed off.
00:09:06.000He won about 48% of independents in 2020, according to the exit polls.
00:09:11.000They think that number is going to go down.
00:09:12.000They're calculating that a trial will not benefit Trump, but the mugshot proves differently.
00:09:19.000The man on the street videos that we're seeing proved differently.
00:09:22.000Some of these polls, like McLaughlin, say that momentum in the trend is, in fact, our friend.
00:09:28.000And even Trump is catching wind of this.
00:09:30.000He said, be careful what you wish for, Democrats.
00:09:34.000Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
00:09:36.000Do you really want a televised trial before millions and millions of Americans that actually exposes you and the weaponization of America's judicial system?
00:09:49.000Do you know that the average American spends about 20 years in retirement?
00:09:52.000That's a long time to live without a steady income.
00:09:55.000And we want to make sure you enjoy every moment of it and don't outlive your money.
00:09:58.000Retirement is about more than just investments.
00:11:08.000If you look at what they're actually saying in this article, he said, we recognize there was a little bit of phenomenon to Donald Trump, Zucker said, acknowledging that we did give him quite a bit of coverage.
00:11:17.000If there was one thing he would change about their early coverage, Zucker repeated a sentiment he's made before, less unfiltered, nonstop streaming of Trump's early rallies.
00:11:27.000We probably did put on too many of the campaign rallies in the early months unedited, Zucker said.
00:11:33.000In hindsight, we probably shouldn't have done that as much.
00:11:37.000That's him speaking at Harvard, where he was getting jeered at this event.
00:11:42.000And other candidates were saying you were showing empty podiums of Trump events.
00:11:57.000I'd say that if we made a mistake last year, it's that we probably did put on too many of his campaign rallies in those early months, unedited, and just let them run.
00:12:14.000You know, listen, because you never knew what he was going to say.
00:12:18.000You never knew what was going to happen.
00:12:20.000So there was an attraction to put those on the air.
00:12:24.000And I think in hindsight, we probably shouldn't have done that as much.
00:12:42.000And by the way, here's Trump's crazy logic here.
00:12:45.000He might take the stand knowing he's going to be convicted in a totally biased, very blue Fulton County, and believing that the merits of the case defend him, which they do.
00:12:55.000Again, he was contesting an election that he felt was dishonest, that millions of Americans feel are dishonest.
00:13:02.000And he was using a precedent set in Tilden v. Hayes in 1876, and then again in 1960 in Hawaii, and then again in 2000, Al Gore v. Bush.
00:13:12.000He might just go up there and say, to hell with it.
00:14:16.000They're like a hedge fund or a venture capitalist.
00:14:19.000They don't necessarily know which investments are going to have a return, but they look at it and they say, listen, if I can get one or two to pop off big and the other 10 are dogs, then we still are going to win this thing.
00:14:33.000However, if you lose the House on one, it could wipe out all your gains elsewhere.
00:16:25.000Ties into exactly what we're talking about here in hour one.
00:16:28.000But while we wait for Benny, I want to play this clip.
00:16:31.000Now, this clip is involving John Thomas.
00:16:35.000He is the founder and president of Thomas Partner Strategy, a full-service Republican media strategy crisis comms firm.
00:16:42.000So he was the guy who founded the DeSantis Super PAC.
00:16:46.000Okay, now let's go ahead and play cut 190 and get his unvarnished opinion on News Nation.
00:16:51.000Oftentimes the main skills you need are ability to raise money and roll television ads.
00:16:56.000When you run for president, yes, of course that's important, but retail politicking, charisma, charm, discipline, being able to conduct yourself in a likable manner on television interviews, those are all equal, if not more important, than your ability to roll the TV ads.
00:18:33.000That man's too damn oh, he's a city season.
00:18:36.000We need to be talking about Jello in senior citizen homes with his.
00:18:41.000You know, I think it really is promoting his brand, you know, because they're, you know, if you really want something to go away, you would just ignore it.
00:20:07.000Like, you know, now that he's a gangster, now that he's an icon, and you can see, of course, Donald Trump up in the studio here, we have the mugshot printed off in a giant poster-size wall mounting with a parental advisory sticker on it.
00:23:12.000I mean, because this video is confirming a lot of things we're seeing kind of at the macro level, right?
00:23:17.000And we started the show talking about the Trump boomerang, right?
00:23:20.000So Fannie Willis is about to put Trump in front of tens, maybe hundreds of millions of eyeballs, watching him get politically persecuted, live streamed, the first ever of its kind trial involving a former president.
00:23:34.000He's going to be martyred and become the victim.
00:23:37.000And now, I love Trump, but Trump's not easily, it's not a natural connection to think, oh, you're the victim, Trump.
00:23:45.000They have just turned one of the most alpha males on planet Earth into a victim, and now they're going to live stream it to the world.
00:23:52.000And we're seeing McLaughlin, the poll says in Battleground States, Trump is up 49.41 potentially.
00:23:57.000Now, I'm not going to hang my hat on one poll, but it's the first that we've seen post-mugshot.
00:24:02.000Benny, is this what you're seeing in the macro or are there cracks in the foundation that we need to be watching out for?
00:24:10.000So, less than a victim, because nobody really, I mean, yes, certainly a victim, but like I would say less than a victim because you don't think of like Donald Trump as a billionaire as necessarily a victim person.
00:24:22.000He has all these buildings with his names on.
00:24:24.000I would say more like Nostradamus, like more like somebody who predicted the future and told you that a system was rigged and that it was rigged against you.
00:24:32.000And that feeling you have in the back of your gut that you just can't get ahead because there is a system that is rigged against you for Americans of all stripes, whether you're from the rest belt or whether you're from the urban inner city.
00:24:46.000That's going to suddenly ring true when they realize that Donald Trump's billions and his political connections won't protect him from that exact same system.
00:24:54.000And so, I would say that it's more of Donald Trump being proven correct in his political rhetoric over the last decades.
00:25:02.000And now, finally, people are, you know, it's starting to, people are starting to crack.
00:25:06.000We went thermonuclear viral out of a clip that was posted from some homie who's just like walked onto the street in his neighborhood in what looks like a quite poor neighborhood of Atlanta.
00:25:18.000And there are plenty who are desperate for law and order, who are desperate for some hope and something in the future.
00:25:24.000People just pouring onto the streets, cheering for Trump as he goes by, saying free Trump, saying Fanny Dunn effed up.
00:25:33.000You know, how are you going to combat that?
00:25:36.000How are you going to fix that messaging?
00:27:01.000Chris Rock stood in front of a very hoity-toity audience at the Kennedy Center months ago and said, you're really going to put him in prison?
00:27:20.000You can't really, there's not a word in the English language, maybe, maybe somewhere in German, to actually personify what they've done here.
00:29:02.000Back when Mitch McConnell was able to speak, Mitch McConnell would say things like, you're going to regret blowing up the filibuster in the Senate.
00:29:43.000You have to have consequences in order to prove a point.
00:29:46.000And well, they got the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court.
00:29:48.000So fast forward to today, what I think they're going to learn is that the American people don't like living under communist regimes.
00:29:54.000They don't like the persecution of their political enemies.
00:29:58.000They see directly through all of this and that Donald Trump, again, is starting to lead polls like in a commanding and dominant sense.
00:30:08.000Now, the biggest problem for Donald Trump is obviously going to be those same people, Mitch McConnell.
00:30:14.000So we start with Mitch McConnell quote.
00:30:15.000We'll end with a Mitch McConnell quote.
00:30:17.000Mitch McConnell, obviously, being operated by a wing of the Republican Party that despised Donald Trump for the same reason Democrats despise Donald Trump.
00:31:12.000And they are uniting against Donald Trump.
00:31:14.000And that I believe is probably Donald Trump's greatest weakness is his own party sabotaging him, which is, again, precisely what they did throughout all of Donald Trump's presidency.
00:32:06.000This audience right here flooded the switchboard on Monday and all these stories went national.
00:32:12.000But what gives them credence, this 14th Amendment, though, by the way, remember, it was two Federalist scholars that created the first legal brief, the legal review paper, law review paper, that started this whole train.
00:32:25.000Now that's losing momentum, but you are so right.
00:32:28.000It's the traitors that stab you in the back that will probably pose the most threat to Donald Trump heading into 2024.
