00:00:00.000 it's like celebrities read like smut to you what is smut's like

00:00:05.120 well let me get into smut it's basically like a baby i'm sorry no it's okay

00:00:14.820 hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show starring me your

00:00:25.760 fave everybody knows me happy last spooky episode team get into it i am the one and only 0.97

00:00:32.100 bucky beaver if you know you know if you don't know i don't know what to tell you i'm a fucking 0.98

00:00:38.180 beaver so anyways on to the most important part of every episode the wonderful amazing guest today 0.95

00:00:43.280 we have the iconic the legendary the hilariously talented ravina

00:00:47.380 welcome to the show you're the complete opposite of me voice wise

00:00:55.160 not just singing capability obviously i have no singing talent but you talk so softly

00:01:00.920 it's gorgeous love that i'll try to project i hope the mic can pick it up it's all right i'm a real

00:01:07.240 come as you are kind of show that's why i'm a beaver and you're clearly a stunning angel

00:01:11.540 yes the inspo is like 90s runway love high fashion angel fantastic same yeah same thing for me yeah

00:01:21.420 i love the dichotomy exactly we're real duality of man right now yeah you know i love it but i'm

00:01:27.520 honored to have you on the show welcome huge fan of you thank you have been for a minute thank you

00:01:32.360 and i just think you're so fantastic i'm happy to have you thank you for coming of course i've been

00:01:37.080 looking forward to this yeah me too same i'm honored to hear that i'm sorry i have to hear it as a beaver

00:01:42.600 but i am honored to hear that no i would love uh for the people who maybe just woke up yesterday and

00:01:48.900 have not heard of you or your journey per se your lore if you will i'm very familiar but i would love

00:01:55.340 if you could tell everyone obviously you're a fantastic artist musical artist r&b artist would

00:02:00.260 you classify yourself as r&b yeah there's so much r&b influence but i pull from many genres yeah that's

00:02:06.240 what i kind of figure i feel like you're a real swiss army knife you're very you blend into many

00:02:09.720 different categories but for sure i would love to know how you came to this like profession how you

00:02:15.600 found your way yeah that kind of story i've been doing it professionally for almost seven years now

00:02:22.500 and it's my life i feel like i'm in a really good flow with making art and like the fan base we have

00:02:30.780 um and yeah i've just been the same since i was a little girl like the same person yeah if you always

00:02:37.940 you've always wanted to be a singer always wanted to be a singer always was um in touch with like

00:02:44.840 the ether and nature and yeah your spirituality plays a huge role in your art which i love yeah

00:02:51.380 it's a huge role yeah i think it's fantastic like how did you come to start marrying those two worlds

00:02:56.940 when it came to your art um i actually think it's always been married for me um since i was small

00:03:04.440 like i feel like because i came from a really spiritual family of reiki healers and like people

00:03:10.080 who meditate for hours a day it was just kind of embedded in in the music i was absorbing and like

00:03:17.800 the way i would receive it but yeah it's it's a huge part of my life when were you kind of like

00:03:25.020 oh i think i could actually do this for a living um like did you study music in college or yeah i i did

00:03:32.640 but when i was 11 i was going around and lying to people that i was going to get a record deal

00:03:38.060 but manifesting like we're talking on the show the line between lying and manifesting is

00:03:45.560 razor thin i walk it personally often i walk it personally every day yeah yeah absolutely at some

00:03:53.980 point you have to like your words are so powerful so i feel like speaking it powerful into existence

00:03:59.140 do you draw from anything to manifest i find for myself when i manifest i like to draw from my

00:04:04.980 ancestors a lot yes i like to talk to them a lot when i like same yeah whenever i because i like to

00:04:10.340 think i feel like i don't like organized religion but i do feel very spiritual and i'm indigenous too

00:04:16.220 so i feel very connected to like the like nature the land but also specifically in the pacific chills

00:04:23.360 yeah like especially in the pacific because i'm samuan so like anywhere in the pacific island

00:04:29.220 specifically yeah i feel very like connected and like you know to nature and healing and all that

00:04:35.700 where do you feel most connected like that same same like the homeland yeah homeland but also it's

00:04:41.800 definitely deeper in the homeland when i go to india it's just like a intense energy but i feel like

00:04:48.360 you could find a blade of grass in in the city and like or a tree in a city and and feel it too

00:04:55.420 because it's all inherent and stored in there you know yeah so you say you come from a very spiritual

00:05:00.340 family like how was it like your parents or was it other people in your life that maybe inspired you

00:05:05.920 to kind of like really lean into the spiritual part of your life it was probably my maternal

00:05:10.360 grandparents the most oh love yeah they were really you know intensely within it and yeah

00:05:18.400 we're always talking about spirituality in a sense beyond organized religion like you were saying

00:05:25.380 totally yeah like more like there is a spirit flowing through all things and we just got to be awake to it

00:05:32.900 yeah totally in um hawaiian they call it mana so it's like energy like that you feel specifically

00:05:40.760 connected to your bloodlines right so like other pacific islander people like you feel real strong

00:05:46.320 mana and land and all that like in in hawaii they have they have a word called kapu which means like

00:05:52.500 taboo and that's typically it's obviously bad but it's like when you take things from the earth because

00:05:57.620 you're only supposed to give to the earth not supposed to take yes so like for example i always tell

00:06:01.860 this story because it makes me laugh but like i lived in hawaii for a long time i have a lot of

00:06:05.340 family there obviously i have a lot of roots there and like we my family and i go back home like every

00:06:10.040 year and one year we were back visiting and we were swimming in our at our favorite beach and like

00:06:16.140 it's like my favorite beach it's like very hidden so only like local people can find it and we were

00:06:20.740 swimming and my brother kept taking rocks out of the ocean and i was like i said hey put that back

00:06:26.380 like you're not that's kapu you're supposed to leave it yeah and not take right yeah and he was like i'm

00:06:30.860 just taking him on the beach and i was like no dude you gotta leave it where you found it yeah and

00:06:35.280 he like wasn't really listening to me i was like all right and then probably like 20 minutes later

00:06:40.200 my brother was like walking up the up the sand and there was really no waves at all and like a huge

00:06:46.580 wave came out of nowhere and like hit him from behind and like tumbled him and when he came up i was

00:06:51.740 like i fucking told you yeah she's mad at you put it back yeah and then he literally took all the 0.98

00:06:56.680 rocks it was like swimming them back and he was putting them all back i said i fucking told you 0.99

00:07:01.180 yeah but i also find the ocean over there to be very healing too like for any sort of ailment it's

00:07:07.000 just in such deep communication yeah right people there i spent actually like a bit of time this

00:07:14.100 summer working on some um farms and like uh land uh restoration projects there and i was just

00:07:23.020 learning so much from the indigenous people there about just how much the land is constantly

00:07:28.760 talking to them yeah like telling them everything they need yeah absolutely yeah i also feel i i feel

00:07:36.000 that way too because i feel like very powerful like i feel very strong feelings about certain things or

00:07:42.580 like people or like uh decisions whether it's in business or like in my job and i feel like that's

00:07:48.800 always like my spirit it's like guiding me that's why i'm like i don't know my this disturbs my

00:07:53.980 spirit i don't know something feels bad about it so i don't want to do it and it's always correct

00:07:58.140 and it's so funny because when you work with white people they're very like okay when you tell them

00:08:03.040 stuff like that yeah you're like i don't it's just i can't explain it but i just have a feeling about

00:08:06.500 it yeah you know how i feel about that yeah and they're like okay like at first then when they

00:08:11.300 start seeing it happen they're like all right i believe you like yeah absolutely they need the

00:08:17.980 proof and then yeah when you when it's just embedded into your body and your ancestry it's

00:08:23.580 just a body yeah absolutely intuition right that's so funny i feel like i totally get you on that too

00:08:28.880 so when you marry them when it comes to your music like how do you how do you draw from your

00:08:34.240 spirituality to create your music specifically like i'm sure in many different ways but yeah it's

00:08:40.020 it's more that like my whole life is centered around the marrying of the two and making sure that

00:08:50.100 i always make time for a spirit yeah um especially like right now i'm on tour so it looks really

00:08:58.160 different i don't have the same time and capacity to meditate or be um be in silence or be in nature as

00:09:06.860 much as i want to but yeah it's the constant remembrance you know totally it's like it comes

00:09:13.360 down to the remembrance and the remembrance can look like having objects like crystals or or certain

00:09:21.020 books or like decks or you know just like little totems to remind you of spirit it can look like mantras

00:09:27.560 it can look like music it can look like okay every time i go on stage i'm gonna hold hands with my

00:09:34.860 band member and just like ground us for five minutes yeah you know it can be really tiny

00:09:39.580 totally and yeah spirit just finds a way always it's whatever makes you feel connected to it yeah

00:09:46.500 totally and music is is just inherently like so spiritual yeah have you ever hung out with people

00:09:53.080 that weren't as spiritual but as they started spending more time with you they were like you may be on

00:09:57.400 to something um there was this thing where my like old manager i would i would tell him at the

00:10:09.400 beginning of a year like okay i'm gonna make this much and it would happen down to the number that's

00:10:16.120 crazy yeah that's so crazy and then he started to believe it after a while yeah like with money like

00:10:23.500 you know it's true it's freaky when it comes down to exact numbers that's so funny yeah that's so

00:10:28.660 funny because i i've actually done that too it's when i um i hosted the carpet for black adam like

00:10:34.800 two years ago and when i did that i had no idea i was going to do that but a big reason why i wanted

00:10:41.180 to do it was because obviously the rock is someone too and there's not many of us especially in

00:10:46.400 mainstream media that people know of and so that was going to be like my first time meeting him

00:10:50.060 yeah so i really wanted to do it or do something surrounding it and i was telling my hair makeup

00:10:56.280 artist who's also someone i was telling him i was like i just feel very strongly like i'm going to

00:11:00.920 be there and when i go i want to have something made by my own people that i can wear that's

00:11:06.140 culturally significant and i want to walk the carpet in it and i want to take my fiancee who's

00:11:10.140 also someone and have him wear cultural wear on the carpet and i was telling him i just have this

00:11:14.580 whole plan and then he was like oh did you hear about it and i was like no i just feel very

00:11:19.220 strongly that it's going to happen for me yeah and that was at the start of the year

00:11:22.300 and then i thought it was more so i was thinking like walking the carpet whatever but i was just

00:11:26.480 like i'm going to be there i feel so strongly i'm going to be there and then i got asked to host the

00:11:29.760 whole thing so then i got to like do all of those things that's amazing i've chilled yeah i've chilled

00:11:35.300 and then he was it's funny too because like a lot of people on my team too are like i

00:11:39.240 yeah i'm really starting to believe because i tell them my manifesting is out of this world like

00:11:44.040 my third eye like that's what i call her yeah i'm like my i'm connected to my spirit i constantly

00:11:48.980 feel it like it just tells me things all the time i feel so strongly about it i love that we even told 0.68

00:11:55.160 um we were having a meeting about because i have another podcast with my sister called two idiot 0.90

00:11:58.940 girls and yeah we have like a patreon manager and stuff and we were meeting with him talking about

00:12:02.800 goals at the top of the year and we were setting like monetary goals we were like i think and i was

00:12:08.020 like i think we could make maybe between this much and this much i gave him a pretty big range and it

00:12:11.520 was a pretty stark range like much higher than what we just because we just started yeah and he

00:12:16.240 was like well you know it's good to have goals it's good to have goals and i was like yeah but the

00:12:20.980 longer you spend time with me if i say it out loud it's gonna happen yeah absolutely absolutely you

00:12:27.260 just have that magic around you yeah protection around you yeah right yeah sometimes i joke about

00:12:32.800 it with our friend my friend teffy because she's very spiritual in that way too and she's very

00:12:37.760 connected and she teaches me a lot too because she's teaching me a lot about witchcraft which 0.92

00:12:41.460 i personally love because i don't think there's anything demonic about witchcraft depending on

00:12:46.180 how you use it obviously but i feel very strongly about like being able to like set intentions

00:12:51.380 manifest like kind of cleanse you know what i mean like all that kind of stuff and so she teaches

00:12:56.220 me a lot too and we joke when i joke around about it with her i was like when i tell you the

00:13:00.380 universe does not play about me i am not kidding yeah i am one of their favorites i am

00:13:04.960 anointed if you will you are you absolutely are i can feel it i can definitely feel it thank you i

00:13:10.780 mean it's just so evident in like how kind your team is and like how with you they are you know

00:13:17.760 yeah and it's like you're just a vortex of energy and it's beautiful yeah it's like beautiful the

00:13:24.120 things you're attracting around it and the people thank you i appreciate that i feel that about you

00:13:28.260 too you have a very calming presence a very like centering presence i love that about you thank you

00:13:33.640 so do you period look at us we're just we're just complimenting each other i love that for us

00:13:38.520 but tell me about your new album because i know your new album just came out this year yes so i would

00:13:43.200 love to hear about it like your inspiration for it and like how you know the process was putting out

00:13:48.140 another piece of beautiful work yeah it's my favorite body of work i've made it's called where

00:13:54.700 the butterflies go in the rain i feel like it melds all of my favorite influences everything from

00:14:03.240 early 2000s pop like shania twain cheryl crowe natasha beddingfield like happy girl pop i love that

00:14:12.260 um and classic soul records like i was listening to so much marvin gaye so much joni mitchell stevie wonder

00:14:20.320 mini riverton like old shade records like that is my bread and butter that's what i grew up listening

00:14:27.620 to and i hear that a lot in your earlier work especially yeah exactly i love that and i feel

00:14:32.780 like this album kind of brought it all back and then i explored a lot of like indian influences on

00:14:39.200 my second album and like they took a really interesting kind of turn in this album where they

00:14:45.160 weren't as present but it was it was subtly in in the backdrop of so many songs so i feel like i found

00:14:51.640 kind of a natural way to merge my most um like in me kind of jazz soul influences with that yeah i love

00:15:04.580 that i think that's so i also too i love how you try to like work in culture a lot into a lot of your

00:15:11.240 bodies work too i think that's beautiful thank you and i love i i feel so strongly about that

00:15:15.820 especially as like minority people as brown people i feel like it's so important that we're like

00:15:21.800 constantly keeping that front of your work because obviously someone like yourself has like transcended

00:15:27.100 into mainstream which is beautiful but at the same time you're constantly reminding them like who you

00:15:32.260 are where you come from i think that's lovely we have to yeah we have to because we can't just let

00:15:37.360 the most special parts of us get erased right and the most natural parts of us right and i think it

00:15:44.240 goes back to what you were saying about how you just have this body intuition yeah because of your

00:15:51.260 the presence of your ancestry because of your connection to land totally and like i feel like

00:15:56.740 there's so much pain obviously that comes with our identities yeah but it's honestly the biggest gift

00:16:03.680 in the world yeah i agree because people search their entire lifetimes to be able to be tapped into

00:16:09.460 that intuition right you know totally yeah i talk about that with my friend tevi a lot too because

00:16:13.900 she's brazilian and colombian so she feels very connected to her roots too my sister and i talk to

00:16:20.580 her about it a lot about how like that does feel like a driving force inside me yeah and it's almost

00:16:26.700 like it feels too like it would be such a slap in the face to like not like i feel like i think my

00:16:32.040 ancestors all the time for like what i have now like i walk in so much gratitude i think because of

00:16:37.420 like how thankful i am for this life but also i know that this life wasn't crude like it wasn't

00:16:43.620 created just easily like it was like there's so many of my kin who came before me of course so i feel

00:16:49.540 like and it's all their dreams yeah exactly totally sometimes i wonder like where dreams come from

00:16:56.280 and like our life goals our passions where that fire comes from and i have the theory that it's

00:17:03.540 actually just ancestors taking the shape of a body and like wanting to continue past dreams that they

00:17:10.760 had oh i love that that's beautiful new bodies yeah yeah i love that that's beautiful i feel like

00:17:16.500 too i've talked to my family a lot too especially when i struggle like if i ever have like if i'm having

00:17:20.900 doubts or i'm having struggles or whatever i like always like i pray to my answers i talk to the

00:17:25.400 universe i like ask for like guidance or signs i'm like i'm always like if i need guidance like

00:17:30.180 please tell me if this is like going in the right direction yeah and i remember like two years two

00:17:34.940 years ago it was like right after i started filming this show i had a cousin pass away that i love dearly

00:17:40.120 and she died during covid and so like it was tragic it was awful and so got through it but then this

00:17:45.440 happened for me and i think about her a lot because i wish she was alive so she could see all of this

00:17:49.300 right and i remember at the time i was really struggling to like i don't know what i was struggling

00:17:54.160 i think i was kind of worried about this because you know like you know because you're actually

00:17:58.880 super famous and a celebrity and i'm an idiot on the internet but past that i was like past that 0.51

00:18:04.840 um when you go from being so normal to not it gets really hard like being perceived by so many people

00:18:11.840 at once of course it's very overwhelming i think because no human has ever been meant to deal with

00:18:16.940 like that many eyes on you at once i always say that it's a trauma it really like literally a trauma

00:18:24.780 that you have to work through yeah yeah you have to deal with yeah literally my friend tevi described

00:18:30.100 it as like a a one-way mirror so it's like you're in an interrogation room and like everyone can hear

00:18:35.660 you and everyone can see you but you can't hear or see them and i was like that is how it feels that

00:18:40.840 is actually how it fucking feels that is how it's horrifying yeah and it's so like at the time i think 0.76

00:18:46.520 i was struggling with that and i was like i don't know if this is like the right path like i feel 0.83

00:18:50.120 like i feel like it is because this is like my dream yeah but i feel like it isn't because it

00:18:54.800 comes with it comes with so much like forfeit that you don't ever plan on forfeiting like privacy

00:18:59.860 and anonymity like i never planned on not having that anymore and so i was like kind of struggling

00:19:05.620 with the decision and then um that night literally that night i had a dream about my cousin and i hadn't

00:19:11.340 seen her in my dreams and i felt like she hadn't visited me and that bothered me a little bit

00:19:15.680 yeah and then when she came to me my dream it felt like she was like giving me like an approval or

00:19:21.080 like a sign of like like yeah this is this is it like yeah she just she told me she missed me and

00:19:26.280 that she loved me and then she was like she's like it's gonna be okay and that was it that was the

00:19:31.500 whole dream woke up sobbing and it's so funny because the next day it's funny because the next day

00:19:37.520 i had to work and i was getting glammed by someone else like not my current hair and makeup artist but i

00:19:42.340 was getting glammed by someone and i was like texting my mom and i was like i can't wait for

00:19:47.980 me to be done so i can call you because i have to cry so bad so i was like because i was just thinking

00:19:53.280 about it all morning i was thinking about it all morning and what's crazy is that my sister had a

00:19:57.280 dream that same exact night with the same cousin so like it was but we had that is crazy is that crazy

00:20:02.900 that is crazy how could i ever doubt the universe yeah it always has my back

00:20:08.320 i chills just every time you have a clarifying moment like that it just confirms your intuition

00:20:15.100 right and then you just know and then that knowing becomes deeper exactly so then you keep getting

00:20:22.160 more signs and then you're just in this crazy flow yeah right exactly i'm in a real flow state with it

00:20:28.020 now yeah and i feel like too when i was younger i used to attribute it to me being a know-it-all

00:20:33.380 and like being me being a virgo because i was like well i just clearly know everything and i'm always

00:20:37.420 right now that i'm older i'm like i'm like that's just spirit talking to me yeah and i'm just deciding

00:20:44.460 i make my choices based off that yeah and that's why it always ends up being right but really it's just

00:20:49.060 the right path yeah so absolutely yeah what sign are you i'm a libra love yeah my birthday was just

00:20:55.200 like two weeks ago oh i love my fiance's a libra oh i love libras he's the 21st okay cute yeah he's 0.64

00:21:01.740 turning 30 next week oh my god i know he's old as fuck i just turned 29 i'm old too i'm old too 0.92

00:23:06.060 yeah just like musicians i love i would love to collaborate with clio soul i really love her oh nice she's

00:23:15.900 amazing love there's so many people yeah also name oh love period i also want to say i love your tiny

00:23:23.580 desk concert oh my god it's one of my faves thank you because you sound fantastic and it's obviously

00:23:28.720 i know that but it's just such a lovely set and i had to make sure i told you before i forgot but

00:23:34.480 not to get too far off topic we're actually right on topic uh let's talk about our topic for today which

00:23:40.980 is the intersection between music and spirituality and obviously there are internet haters who think

00:23:46.660 manifestation meditation spirituality or anything like that are fake or a scam do you ever get people

00:23:51.560 telling you that oh every day yeah literally every day online or just in general online and online and

00:23:59.480 in person and not now i'm protected in person but yeah online every day and really unexpected people

00:24:08.320 really yeah like a lot of actually just women of color surprisingly yeah and i'm shocking and it makes 1.00

00:24:16.200 me really sad because i'm like damn like you have the portals you have the keys no shit you know right 0.88

00:24:23.460 and i just want to remind them that it's there for them right exactly when i was like i was talking to 0.93

00:24:31.000 my i keep talking about my friend tevi but she's my most spiritual friend outside of my my family yeah

00:24:35.920 but um when i was talking to her about it once she was saying like i was telling her about like my dream

00:24:40.420 i told her about my dream that i just told you about and other things that have happened that were like

00:24:44.380 signs to me that i was like on the right path or when i was asking for guidance it gave it to me

00:24:48.860 and um she was like oh my god if you start practicing for real in your spirituality oh my gosh she's like

00:24:55.480 you control the world yeah she was like you have so much power at your fingertips already

00:24:58.920 so i was like sometimes i look at my hands and i'm like yeah oh my gosh it's within me and she was like

00:25:05.200 if you start walking in it oh my god girl it's gonna explode yeah so that's why i think i feel like

00:25:09.780 that's what's brought me a lot closer to it and honestly honestly too i feel like growing up

00:25:15.040 someone obviously i grew up here like on the mainland but when i was growing up i felt like

00:25:21.120 i really wanted to be close to culture and a lot of times obviously that's like family it's language

00:25:25.960 it's food it's all of these things or all these wonderful things that make up a culture but i feel

00:25:30.740 like i've never felt closer to my culture than when i've been walking within my spirituality yeah which i

00:25:36.360 think is what i've been searching for like as an adult i feel like you start searching for something

00:25:39.740 like that yeah as like what you were calling like grounding something very grounding for you

00:25:43.640 because ultimately all those other things are just material totally yeah exactly they're in the

00:25:49.500 physical world right and i also i i do find that strange too when people say like things like that

00:25:54.520 aren't real yeah that's why i told you i do i feel the same way i'm kind of like i feel bad for you 0.89

00:25:59.120 that sucks that you don't believe in that that sucks yeah that sucks it's very real yeah i'm like i don't ever 0.97

00:26:05.140 get mad i just feel sorry for them i'm like damn you have no idea like you have no idea of the magic 0.99

00:26:10.420 all around right i feel bad i know it's like the world is so beautiful the world is so beautiful 0.92

00:26:16.440 and sometimes my white friends when i talk to them i've told her i was like it's my third eye girl i'm

00:26:22.700 telling you like i tell her i was like i feel it it doesn't feel right yeah and one of my girlfriends

00:26:26.820 she's literally like that third eye is never wrong she texted me that the other day i was like i told you

00:26:31.600 we gotta listen to her when you start just predicting things and saying things that are

00:26:38.240 gonna happen that's been happening to me a lot this summer where it just me too it's crazy it's

00:26:44.020 been extra intense yeah it has two months this this past like summer yeah i agree yeah i agree with

00:26:49.760 something shifted right literally i think for a lot of people actually i think so too i always call us

00:26:56.100 like a network of fairies and angels and i i feel like because so many of my friends are like that

00:27:02.140 we always are having the same experiences at the same yeah like feelings and everything the same

00:27:07.840 like kind of ups and downs right and i feel like the same like with my people who spend time with me a

00:27:13.280 lot yeah um they start feeling it's almost like they start turning into me too so they start

00:27:18.580 experiencing watching walking in the spirituality and everything too yeah like indirectly even if they're

00:27:22.980 not like consciously trying to do it yeah so they start having the same gut feelings and having the

00:27:27.640 same intuition as me i love it i love that that theory of like a network of fairies and angels i love

00:27:33.700 that that's gorge it's real we're all one big brain like we're all like connected i really do feel that

00:27:39.980 way yeah okay so speaking of hate about this stuff right okay we'll read this first video this one is

00:27:46.160 in this video a man who describes himself as a founder and ceo is talking in his car about how

00:27:52.240 quote meditation manifesting and all that shit doesn't really do anything for you 0.82

00:27:56.880 he says the way to become successful is by getting up and working hard he says why would i just sit 0.95

00:28:01.960 there in my room and cross my legs when i could just go out there and do it what a psycho thing to say

00:28:08.600 also what a white thing to say i don't want to assume but what a white thing to say 0.98

00:28:13.680 that's a colonial perspective i have to sigh right that's such a colonial white supremacist like

00:28:22.380 capitalist mindset i feel like that like workhorse mindset of like you know spirituality doesn't give

00:28:29.340 you anything but like going out and getting things does absolutely i was actually thinking about it on

00:28:35.680 the way here and i was like if we just all if all these people who ultimately just feel very

00:28:46.000 dysregulated in their bodies yeah like they are lacking a sense of stability with their breath with

00:28:53.200 with their with their awareness of their emotions with their body if we could all just for like 10

00:29:01.300 minutes everyone on the earth yeah just like put our hands to the ground or the trees and just

00:29:07.780 listen it would give us every single answer we need to get out of this dystopian hellscape

00:29:14.660 okay jay it would tell them because i think anyone who's on that path like we were saying right before

00:29:22.880 we started the show like what is your intention yours was to spread joy to spread like

00:29:28.060 just good vibrations to spread knowledge to spread empowerment um anyone who's like walking

00:29:35.700 that path is receiving those intuitions constantly on how to make the world a happier and better place

00:29:42.400 absolutely and like if we all just listened it would be clear yeah in like 10 minutes and we'd all

00:29:49.420 communicate with each other and what to do i feel like in a lot of ways too people don't realize like

00:29:53.760 a lot of times you're getting in your own way when it comes to stuff like that like the block is you

00:29:57.480 the block is you a lot of times the block is you and the block is technology too absolutely yeah

00:30:02.960 it's rotting everything i know that i'm such an i i have such bad brain rot sometimes that's when i 0.99

00:30:09.180 like really literally that stupid comment people say like when they go like you go touch grass like 0.97

00:30:14.360 that's literally when i'm like i physically have to go touch grass oh yeah or something some kind of 0.99

00:30:19.460 element absolutely a nature element i need to go outside and sit in the sun like even uh my sister

00:30:25.520 said this the other day she goes the other because she's got new patio furniture and so she was sitting

00:30:29.940 on her patio she goes i sat in the sun for like 20 minutes and it was like the best feeling ever

00:30:34.100 she's sitting out there with nothing in her hand she's yeah she calls it lizard time when she lays 0.88

00:30:38.580 in the sun like that she's making him as a like a lizard and she's like oh it feels so nice to just

00:30:44.280 like sit and absorb and not do anything it's amazing like to sit inside but i i agree with what you

00:30:49.700 said because i think the problem is a lot of times people don't want to sit in the silence or sit

00:30:53.920 with themselves so i get what you mean or just be be in nature and have that time but that was

00:30:59.620 everyone back in the day thousands of years ago there was no other option than to be present and

00:31:06.180 listen and sometimes when i find that clarity within five minutes in the sun or in a park i'm like

00:31:12.760 damn this was people's everyday existence for 24 hours a day i know right with no technology like

00:31:19.760 what a life what a life like that's incredible i think about that too since we're around the same 0.98

00:31:25.620 age too like growing up too i think about all the things i didn't have growing up so like technology

00:31:32.580 wise yeah yeah and all of the experiences i had because there was no technology like yeah i miss it

00:31:37.940 so much i know something yeah every day yeah especially the more online you become where you like

00:31:43.120 now you do this for living and you post online too to help with your career and everything when you do

00:31:48.420 all that for a living too it starts to feel like i'm just never gonna escape it i'm planning my

00:31:53.400 retirement for the tech aspect right like for real that's what i mean not for the music aspect i plan

00:32:00.420 to make music forever but because it's so intertwined now yeah and that's honestly that's kind of how

00:32:05.060 chapel was too when she was here she's the same thing she needs to be in nature too she's yeah she

00:32:09.220 loves to touch trees yeah she loves to roll in the grass so like you need it like that's what i was like

00:32:14.020 and i think at the end of last year too i had like obviously the past like few years have been

00:32:19.500 like insane for me because i've never done this before yeah and like adjusting like you said it's

00:32:24.520 a trauma that you have to like learn how to live through yeah i felt that so severely at the end of

00:32:29.300 last year and so i was like telling my family and like my team i was like my new year's resolution for

00:32:34.540 this year is to be more present and to be more here like and to not worry about what's coming or what

00:32:40.460 happened or is to be more aware and like be here and i feel like sometimes people ask me like what

00:32:46.940 do you do when you feel like you're online too much yeah and i was like i like don't look at my

00:32:51.280 phone and i go spend time with people like humans like i go spend time with people that i love so

00:32:56.720 obvious yeah it's so obvious but it doesn't feel obvious in the like when you're in the eye of the

00:33:01.340 storm it just feels like oh i'm never gonna not feel this way it's because it's a physical reaction

00:33:05.740 it does something very dangerous physically to you i know like in the way that you're hunched over

00:33:11.880 in the way that you're like your spirit your energy is like glued yeah like sometimes i try to have

00:33:19.960 um a kind of bird's eye view of myself like when i'm in the spaces yeah and you're like all hunched

00:33:27.560 over yeah like rigid you know i mean tense yeah you see like what's happening to your body and of

00:33:32.640 course it makes sense yeah i know i feel and i feel like the physical reaction like you were

00:33:36.900 saying like i was like sick too at the end of last year like yeah i was so sick and it's i couldn't

00:33:42.500 figure out why like yeah i was like something's wrong with me like i couldn't sleep i like such bad

00:33:46.520 insomnia which i've never had yeah and like everything i ate made me sick so like and it's

00:33:51.320 literally my body physically rejecting like all of the stress and the like technology and the looking

00:33:57.420 at everything it's just it's just too much so i needed to like recenter recalibrate yeah honestly

00:34:04.000 i think that's why this year especially in the summer i felt like my aura was turned up a thousand

00:34:08.040 yeah because i'm like catching up on last year exactly because my well was dry at the end of last

00:34:13.760 year i felt like that's so valid and i feel like i feel like actually it's possible to be in the eye of

00:34:24.620 the storm in the midst of all this technology and chaos and and wanting to grow and and manifestation

00:34:31.200 and have a calm center through it yeah but it it takes a balance and like learning it takes a lot

00:34:39.880 of discipline absolutely like understanding what's happening to your body when you're absolutely and

00:34:44.740 like turning it off as soon as it's it's overwhelming that's so real i felt like last year i didn't have that

00:34:50.860 balance at all and then this year i do yeah like i feel much better about it this year so now i feel

00:34:56.480 like and i feel like that's why i'm thriving even more this year because i feel like i've found the

00:35:01.920 center where it's like when it's too much i need to go outside yeah and physically sit in the sun and

00:35:07.060 roast or like touch a tree or go in water or something i was like i need to be in an ocean immediately

00:35:13.420 exactly where do you do you like to do anything specific or like go anywhere that you like know you'll

00:35:19.620 always feel better if you need to be like recalibrated like that do you have like a safe

00:35:23.460 place like that yeah i live in the mountains and there's a trail like literally walking distance

00:35:29.340 from my house like two three minutes so anytime i'm overwhelmed i'll even do like 10 minutes of the

00:35:36.780 trail yeah just to get outside and yeah yeah i'll just immediately feel better i should have known you

00:35:41.980 lived in the mountains you would you would live in the mountains obviously that makes a lot of sense

00:35:47.000 for you yeah i love that for you though yeah i don't want to name the town because there's like

00:35:50.700 obviously yeah like so few people in that town so yeah but you get to be in nature which is good

00:35:56.540 yeah i feel that yeah i don't want to live too landlocked i think that's why there are cities that

00:36:01.000 are super landlocked that i'm like i can't i can't live here i need to see trees i need to be like

00:36:06.220 by nature i need to like dude i need to be somewhere where as a new yorker like i don't know how i did that 0.97

00:36:13.620 it's so fucked up are you from new york that is crazy yeah like why did my parents choose queens 0.99

00:36:19.440 after they were in beautiful india i remember my nature was going to this little strip of 1.00

00:36:29.060 green in all the brownstones and like looking up at the airplanes going from jfk that was your that

00:36:36.500 was your little oasis yeah for the time being yeah i love that you found something though like

00:36:41.500 something that makes you feel grounded when you're a baby yeah it's like it doesn't matter

00:36:45.340 that's true you're like so tapped in yeah i feel like uh you don't need anything yeah my fiancee

00:36:51.900 feels the same way i do about that too and like i go to new york so much for work now so like

00:36:56.400 new york has grown on me i i appreciate new york but i feel like every time we go we talk about it

00:37:02.380 and he's like i like it here but i i could never live here i was like me either it's just too much

00:37:07.980 there's too much and too much city like i was like if i am in like a place where there's high

00:37:14.520 rises that block the sun yeah i'm gonna freak out yeah absolutely i need sun and nature yeah yeah

00:37:21.200 you need that quick access especially with what we do i think it's really important oh my gosh i know

00:37:26.460 and i feel like i feel like that's another reason why to your music is probably so relatable to a lot of

00:37:34.960 different people because that's i feel like the spirit talking through you and it's connecting to

00:37:40.020 people on different levels you know what i mean which i think is beautiful thank you but back to

00:37:44.080 this nimrod that made this video i know i'm here yeah i'm so curious people have many different views 0.92

00:37:52.060 right literally and the comments on here it says work hard lol thoughts don't make you work hard 0.97

00:37:58.640 do more think less talking about meditation i hate shit like that but like how do you how would 0.96

00:38:05.860 you like describe your meditation and like what it looks like for you because i think it's very 0.97

00:38:10.020 specific to the person like how they choose to meditate but i feel like the basics are probably the

00:38:14.860 same i have many different forms of it and now i'm in a place where there's not much separation

00:38:22.160 between meditation and just real life love because it it's ultimately coming back to like a mindset and

00:38:29.100 a certain relationship with your like your nervous system and your body yeah and meditation when you

00:38:35.880 just sit with your eyes closed for 10 minutes to 10 hours it's just dipping into a pool and like

00:38:42.540 taking a bath for your brain yeah so it's like clean again oh i love that yeah i love is that how you

00:38:48.960 describe it to people when they ask you about it yeah like if people are curious about what it looks

00:38:53.820 like yeah yeah it can look like very silent and um very much about there's a vipassana technique where

00:39:01.480 you scan from like your head to your toes and it like kind of gets you in this very vibrating place

00:39:09.860 or there's lots of really good guided meditations oh yeah i think i want to like maybe do a guided

00:39:16.100 meditation album you should that would be so good and you got the perfect like tone of voice for it

00:39:21.900 just speaking voice but your singing voice obviously is fantastic thank you it would go with that lovely

00:39:26.980 but yeah because they always have weird music under it do you know what i mean like they're not it

00:39:32.560 takes you out of it they're not musicians which like you know they don't have to be but

00:39:36.880 they did let's like set the vibe let's set the vibe properly at least let's set the vibe

00:39:43.320 i struggle with it i'm just like i want to make some soulful stuff under it yeah that would be so

00:39:50.300 nice oh my gosh that'd be so awesome what's that app have you ever heard of that app where people

00:39:55.320 where celebrities read dirty things to you you ever heard of that what's that fanfic app dace what's

00:40:01.200 it called you know what it's called quinn okay quinn i have a point i promise ravina um so quinn's

00:40:09.760 like an app where they like read like it's like celebrities read like smut to you smut what is smut

00:40:15.980 smuts like well ravina let me get into smut it's basically like a baby i'm sorry no it's okay

00:40:26.560 um it's sexual oh descriptions okay scenarios if you will like uh 50 shades of gray yes yes that 0.99

00:40:36.080 would be considered smut i would say yeah it's like sex scenes in a book kind of deal okay where 0.78

00:40:40.460 it's like you kind of let the mind do the work for you you know that's so hot i like that right so 0.74

00:40:45.640 they're they're hiring like celebrities for the quinn my point is you should do the opposite and do

00:40:52.440 that for guided meditation oh my god that's why i said i had a point i promise you just gotta let

00:40:58.040 me loop it back i like that yeah i can't believe you've never heard of smut that's crazy no but i

00:41:05.020 haven't heard of a lot of things that people tell me you're one of those like i'm not sure what that

00:41:11.080 is but you're just here for a good time i love that i think that's great i support it me saying like

00:41:16.460 what a weirdo as if smut itself is not weird so it's all right no that makes me weird but it's okay

00:41:22.040 that i know what that is not weird you're right no kink shaming you're right that's that's true 0.96

00:41:26.100 kink shaming like that's my kink ravina that's not my kink okay that's other people's kink i'm not on 0.62

00:41:31.060 quinn you should do a quinn i should do that would be crazy i tell people all the time that like i used 0.62

00:41:38.980 to do cameo early in the day like back in the day and then i i'm not kidding stopped because men started

00:41:45.780 submitting cameos to me asking me to berate them on purpose like like on cameo like wholesome

00:41:51.600 or is it yeah it's wholesome it's literally like birthday shout outs it's like can you record

00:41:56.480 a happy birthday for my best friend or can you like congratulate my sister on her baby yeah it's

00:42:01.500 like videos like that yeah and they like pay for it oh so they like pay me and they put in the

00:42:06.740 request and then i record it and it sends it to them and like i got one where he wanted me to like

00:42:11.840 berate him and like call him names and it's like clearly on some like bdsm type deal like you want

00:42:17.560 to be bullied do you have a lot of that with like your themes yeah sometimes sometimes i do get some 0.98

00:42:23.380 weirdos in there and he was like can you like call me like a dirty little boy or some shit like that 0.81

00:42:28.380 it was weird and then he wrote that to me and i well not for 30 dollars not for 30 dollars i'm not 0.97

00:42:34.480 doing that maybe for 30 000 yeah let's add a couple more zeros i'll think about it but like when i saw that

00:42:41.900 i said turn it off and i literally i'm not getting turned my cameo off that day haven't opened it up

00:42:46.240 since i'm dead pissed me off so bad haven't done it in two years that's so funny and i was like you

00:42:50.980 guys have to ruin everything yeah i'm like going like happy birth happy 16th birthday and then that's

00:42:56.840 the next request then i get so pissed off i turn it off i was like you know what i'm gonna tell

00:43:03.540 speaking of well i'll link this back to spirituality sometimes when people wrong me i always go

00:43:09.720 the universe is gonna return that to you tenfold yeah and that's why i i always think to myself

00:43:17.020 i don't need to take care of it because the universe will yeah and my and she may take her time 1.00

00:43:23.400 but boy does she come back that's what i always think so i was like don't make me smite you with

00:43:29.000 my ancestors don't make me do that yeah i don't want to smite your bloodlines but i will i'll make 0.51

00:43:33.460 sure not one more man's hair grows on that bloodline if you piss me off one more time don't you do that

00:43:38.680 to me or to your future grandchildren i feel you yeah i feel do you ever feel like you want to use

00:43:44.480 spirit for bad sometimes not use it but sometimes you're like only in one person

00:43:50.940 but i would never yeah but there's like a blockage yeah but that's the feeling where you have it and

00:43:59.640 you're like okay well that's bad i shouldn't do it but i if i was bad i would do it yeah yeah i tell

00:44:05.500 myself that too yeah that's why i'm like it's okay because the universe will get taken care of

00:44:11.200 yeah my mom is always telling me that she's like don't ever use it for bad because also then it can

00:44:17.200 be negative for you and your own spiritual practice yeah then it like when you start to use it for

00:44:23.900 negative things yeah it's like you kind of like it's like those boards like you allow the spirit to

00:44:29.260 come in and then you can't get rid of it exactly i feel that exactly that's why i never play around 0.96

00:44:33.900 that me either darker energy that's also why i hate like i hate ouija boards i hate shit like that 0.97

00:44:40.880 because i'm like see i believe in the other side so like i believe in dark spirits and energy i don't 0.79

00:44:46.600 know what the other side looks like but i do believe that dark spirits and energy do exist that's so

00:44:50.680 interesting okay because i haven't dived into that like i don't really have a grasp on that yet

00:44:56.840 actually of the darkness so i'd love to know more about what you think for me i just feel like

00:45:01.920 in my practicing of it or understanding of it i just feel like it exists but i feel like

00:45:06.900 what you said which is like you have to open the door in order for it to attach to you

00:45:11.480 you know what i mean so i'm like when you welcome it it's almost like it doesn't give without expecting

00:45:18.240 something in return so like it will give you what you want but you're gonna have to answer to it is how i

00:45:24.900 see it wow and so like that's why interesting yeah so it's best to acknowledge that it's there

00:45:30.100 so you know that darkness does exist but that doesn't mean you have to access it you know what

00:45:34.700 i'm saying this is a little bit of a tangent but what do you think about all those conspiracy theories

00:45:40.760 of people with incredible wealth or incredible power using like like darker versions of manifestation

00:45:48.720 for power yeah i mean i wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of dark practicing of

00:45:55.140 spirituality in some element but i also think at the same time that i think it's a lot harder to

00:46:02.000 accept that humans inherently can be evil so it's better to blame the metaphysical because when you

00:46:08.240 can't tangibly when it's tangibly there that's scarier to think that like a person is actually making

00:46:15.660 those decisions and just genuinely is an evil or bad person yeah it's better to blame something

00:46:21.220 metaphysical because i can't see it and therefore if i can't see it it's not real yeah so i i do think

00:46:27.080 in a lot of instances in that case i feel like it's kind of leaning into something that makes you feel a

00:46:33.100 little bit safer because you you can choose not to believe in the metaphysical but you can't choose

00:46:39.600 to not believe that bad people exist and they're walking amongst us right so that's kind of how i see it

00:46:44.320 sometimes like i wouldn't be surprised though if they were practicing some sort of dark spirituality

00:46:49.080 i wouldn't be surprised at all but at the same time i think sometimes people are just inherently evil

00:46:53.760 yeah and so like and they exist amongst us and and there are so many evil like tangible things in

00:46:59.440 the world like prejudice and bigotry and vitriol of any kind and greed and you know what i'm saying

00:47:06.620 like there's so many tangible things that are evil i don't think it's hard to believe that they could

00:47:10.980 corrupt people like you know what i'm saying like especially something like money like money and

00:47:16.000 of course power and access yeah i truly feel like when evil people get richer they just get more evil

00:47:24.640 they don't you know what i mean it's not like always the case where someone who's a good person

00:47:29.120 and had no money gets money and becomes evil i'm sure that happens but i think more often than not 0.64

00:47:34.160 evil people just get the fucking rainbow road you know what i mean they get to take it and they get to 0.92

00:47:39.860 be famous and they get to be wealthy and they get to enact that evil on others absolutely absolutely 0.99

00:47:45.300 what about you how do you see it i have kind of a more like buddhist perspective of seeing it all as

00:47:55.820 a play and seeing um seeing basically the world as a series of forms and images all born under the same

00:48:08.680 energy and the energy is gonna do what it does whether positive or negative and like the place

00:48:18.060 that i try to ground myself in is that i'm i'm like a the divine spirit kind of just observing all of this

00:48:25.920 good and bad yeah and it's gonna play out how it plays out and ultimately these dystopian these chaotic

00:48:33.300 times they will come to an end because the earth always protects itself divine always protects

00:48:39.080 itself yeah we're a blip in humanity yeah in the earth right it's horrible that so many people have

00:48:47.120 to suffer at the hands of other people's evil yeah but all suffering ends yeah all suffering ends at

00:48:53.280 the end of the day and that doesn't mean we don't stop stop like stop fighting for it stop fighting for

00:48:59.580 the end of suffering and stop fighting for people's basic human rights but like i take

00:49:07.540 peace in knowing that we're a part of a network of something much bigger yeah you know yeah totally

00:49:14.460 and that's why i think that i think that perspective scares people it really scares that they really are

00:49:20.300 so small in the grand scheme of things i think that scares people especially people who are like you

00:49:25.100 said earlier like not well like disturbed spiritually and like can't really sit with themselves yeah

00:49:30.820 thinking about you in the grand scheme is even more overwhelming and too hard to like absolutely

00:49:36.500 internalize or trying to conceptualize really i feel like a lot of the people in the comments that you

00:49:42.180 were reading had a really strong need for control yeah like they that's why they believe hard work

00:49:50.400 equals success yeah you know tangible whereas some of the hardest working day laborers in the middle

00:49:59.200 of asia and africa should that you know they should be having the same success exactly if that's what it

00:50:05.800 is exactly no it's like systems that are keeping them exactly like yeah i tell people that all the

00:50:12.540 time that's what yeah exactly that's why i always say to like imagine if we started the race at the

00:50:17.620 same time like where we could all be yeah as a society and it's funny too because i a lot of

00:50:23.680 times people ask me about like how i came to be this way like you know why do i feel so convicted

00:50:28.020 about like you know my intersectional feminism my just intersectionality and activism as a whole and 0.62

00:50:34.360 all of that and i a lot of times i always say i think it's just the perfect storm of me having just

00:50:39.300 an borderline delusional confidence and also like the way i was raised and it's mostly because in my

00:50:44.280 culture like the genesis of my culture prior to being colonized as matriarchal so we've always 1.00

00:50:49.300 held women in very high regard and so many indigenous cultures many cultures in general were like that

00:50:55.000 prior to being colonized so it's like when you think about old indigenous cultures like the mayans or the

00:51:01.380 aztecs or like indigenous native american people like they had fully functioning running cities and

00:51:08.180 like aqueducts and like medicine and all of these things like they were practicing within their

00:51:14.060 spirituality at the same time that they were like literally building community yeah so it's like to

00:51:19.360 think that you know colonization happening and white supremacy spreading so violently the way it has

00:51:26.040 and creating these systems of oppression yeah to think that those are the only tangible things that

00:51:30.920 prove that you can succeed or develop a world it's just simply not true it's like historically inaccurate

00:51:37.140 and it's actually such a small period of time compared to this whole prior prior existence of

00:51:43.700 everybody exactly and everybody living like i don't know how they were living but i i imagine they were

00:51:50.960 living in much deeper harmony with nature right literally and in general yeah that's why like in

00:51:57.000 general they were healthier yeah and that's why i always think like to think that like working within a

00:52:02.620 capitalist structure is the only way to achieve success or fulfillment is that is a poison in the brain

00:52:11.320 that is not true it's a poison in the brain yeah you know it's been actually the most grounding thing for me

00:52:17.160 as um as someone who's come into more resource and like personal power um and the the privilege and the

00:52:26.960 also the kind of attachment that comes with that like you know what i'm talking about like sometimes when

00:52:33.180 you come into that more and more and you start to manifest more you start to get attached to the

00:52:39.160 things you already have and then you're like no i gotta do that again i gotta do it again yeah and i feel

00:52:44.060 like some of the most clarifying moments for me recently have been just going staying on farms

00:52:52.200 living with no money living with community and like obviously i'm coming from a place of privilege

00:53:00.200 doing that but just reminding myself that living in community living in harmony with earth living

00:53:08.180 on farms where we're like feeding each other and taking care of each other it's possible yeah and like

00:53:14.140 getting like little glimpses of a way of living outside of all of this yeah totally and i think

00:53:22.180 people are really really scared to have that conversation and that's where a lot of the hate comes from

00:53:26.980 it comes from fear of even imagining utopia or imagining something more spiritual right because they're like

00:53:34.300 well it it almost feels like an assault to their um their ego because they're like well why

00:53:43.460 you can only experience this because you have privilege yeah and yes true like it took a lot

00:53:49.100 of privilege and time to get there but like we all if we keep spreading this knowledge of that the earth

00:53:55.540 is holding us that it has us we can all experience that for free yeah to some extent yeah to some

00:54:01.820 extent whatever it looks like for you it's like very specific to the person meditation spirituality

00:54:07.260 trees it's free it's here for you yeah that's very real and also like i feel like too the

00:54:13.420 the warmest like kindest like people that i know everyone loves and like gets along with yeah are very

00:54:21.380 spiritual in practice yeah and you included i can tell everybody loves you but it's like it the when i

00:54:27.200 think about my friends that i have that are very spiritual in their practice like they everybody loves

00:54:31.500 them like they just feel very like warm and welcome yeah around and i feel like it's what you said it's

00:54:37.440 like being centered within yourself is and that's i think what what procures beauty and it like makes

00:54:43.360 you attractive to other people and it like makes other people want to be your friend and yeah be like

00:54:48.420 be it be attracted to you in general and like it's like you attract like better people around you

00:54:53.460 because you're like so and it's like what procures confidence too absolutely because some people ask me

00:54:59.420 about my confidence all the time and i'm always like i think too i actually just saw a tiktok made

00:55:04.120 about me like two days ago and this girl was talking about my natal chart oh and she was talking

00:55:08.720 about my like so intimate yeah my north and south nodes and she was talking about why me leaning into

00:55:15.340 my north and south nodes is why i'm so successful whoa and so she was like kind of breaking into me 0.99

00:55:20.320 yeah because she's like an astrologer so i was like i was locked in i was watching it like it wasn't

00:55:23.460 me i was like that's great yeah i was watching it but she was talking about how like how special right i was

00:55:29.300 like i don't even remember where they're at like as far as like what moon or sun they're in and i was

00:55:35.000 and she was explaining how like part of that is me focusing on me and and my convictions and loving me

00:55:42.000 wholly but like what what has launched me as in terms of doing this for a living and this is like

00:55:47.900 actually my purpose like walking in my purpose is because i've learned to extend that confidence

00:55:53.300 to everyone else too and so it's like i've learned to like care about bringing everyone with me to the

00:55:59.380 same level as me yeah as where i am as far as like and i like to say enlightened that's how i was like

00:56:05.040 i feel very enlightened and i feel that way i think that's why i've been able to let an accomplishment at

00:56:09.500 29 not many people can say that's so cool i feel like that's another reason why i feel

00:56:14.940 so like detached from when men attack me which is often and always i never care like literally ever

00:56:24.260 because people are like how do you deal with it i just don't care like i don't care at all it doesn't

00:56:27.960 like disturb your body at all yeah and i was like i don't feel any nothing disturbs my spirit from them 0.93

00:56:34.080 yeah i don't listen when they talk first of all but second of all when i do hear it it's garbage

00:56:38.380 and i literally think i've told someone i'm like i don't care to i don't need to prove myself to

00:56:45.120 these men yeah i gave myself that a long time ago yeah the validation that they convince you you so 0.99

00:56:50.780 desperately need to seek from the patriarchy i got rid of that i ripped that shit out of my brain a 0.97

00:56:56.240 long time ago so that's i'm the only person who gives me validation so whatever they say to me it 0.98

00:57:01.620 doesn't hurt me because i don't take any stock in what they say absolutely and i feel like you could

00:57:06.560 apply that to many different areas of your life i was thinking of that very recently and i was

00:57:12.320 thinking about how um grounded i feel in love for myself and also knowing that i'd be the same

00:57:21.700 amount of like loving cool feeling abundant attractive feeling healthy in whatever material

00:57:32.980 state i found myself in tea you know same and i feel like that's a way bigger success to get to

00:57:40.380 that point in your life where you feel like you could put me anywhere in any situation and i know

00:57:46.780 i'll thrive and i'll figure it out so tea oh my god i feel the same exact way i was telling my

00:57:52.980 fiancee that because we've been together for seven years and we just got engaged but we thank you thank

00:57:58.800 you what if i just brought that up oh my god thank you so much yeah yeah thank you um yeah i we just

00:58:05.300 recently got engaged but we we talk often and frequently about how like because this i've only

00:58:10.100 been doing for like three years um no matter where we would be we would be happy yeah and i would be

00:58:16.380 happy yeah and i would i would be fulfilled in in whatever state i found myself in whether it was

00:58:21.980 doing this or something else yeah i know i would be happy because i feel so happy within myself so that's

00:58:26.540 tea yeah i was just talking to him about that the other day and that's true success beyond anything

00:58:31.660 people convince us is successful totally and i feel like that authenticity like through shines

00:58:40.600 through you so brightly and i feel like that's why people love you so much and that's why other than

00:58:45.340 you're just otherworldly talent that's why i think your music is so powerful thank you because i feel

00:58:50.500 like like i told you earlier like that warm like almost kinetic energy that you feel from people who are

00:58:56.200 very grounded in themselves um it's very evident and very apparent and i i just want to commend you

00:59:00.980 on that i feel like do you feel like you've opened people up a little bit more into spirituality in a

00:59:05.680 sense i feel like you have i hope so i think so i'm i hope i'm normalizing it in the world totally

00:59:11.880 my goal is to bring it to um as many people as possible like to bring healing to as many people as

00:59:19.780 possible yeah but doing it do it in a way that's um amongst the backdrop of high art yeah elegance

00:59:28.220 taste um because i think that i noticed there was a lot of uh in certain periods of my career like

00:59:37.400 a lot of exotification or people kind of starting to try to brand me in like a guru kind of space and

00:59:43.060 i was like why would they do that to you it's just like it's just because my race you know i know

00:59:49.800 that's what i'm saying that's what i'm saying why would they think that was okay to do yeah oh yeah

00:59:54.800 and you're like okay knock it off yeah and it's like no there's nuance here yeah i'm trying to create

01:00:01.380 actually something very visionary something like like art can that that can be consumed for a long

01:00:07.540 time yeah um something that's not based off a racist trope yeah something that's not based off

01:00:15.220 a racist or something that was like pillaged and taken yeah exactly like i don't i don't want it to

01:00:21.980 just be in this context of like white people doing yoga you know yeah yeah that's so real which

01:00:29.140 you know they shed all power to them but like it's just but let's not yeah yeah it's not like

01:00:35.580 let's not take it i'm not a joke they're like a joke yeah i know what you mean yeah well because

01:00:41.300 you are and that's also i think too it's like you are so nuanced like it's not your spirituality

01:00:46.660 obviously is in you and in everything you do but you have so many other interests too yeah that exist

01:00:52.000 outside that yeah and i think that too and i also think that's probably what you get when you're one of

01:00:57.660 the first of your own ethnicity to like really soar in a mainstream element yeah you're like okay i know

01:01:04.380 i know i'm the first one you've ever met like i say that all the time i'm like i know i'm the first

01:01:09.460 someone you've ever met yeah but like let's not let's not like you you don't know nearly enough

01:01:15.200 about us clearly yeah and also like we come in many different forms like many different like a lot

01:01:22.000 of someone people um like typically people's knowledge of them starts with the rock and ends with

01:01:28.400 jason momoa who's not even someone so that's funnier like it's like it's athletics and the

01:01:34.240 two of them and so and now sasha colby and me so there's that and ali right like there's not many

01:01:41.400 of us in the world but i was like but see we come in very different forms so it's like i think that's

01:01:46.900 that's why it's an interest and like right exactly you know where did you grow up i grew up in

01:01:52.380 well here in like southern california so like i grew up in santa anna california orange county and

01:01:57.720 then i grew up in the inland empire too cool so you also have california yeah that's why i was like

01:02:02.520 yeah there's a lot of other things about me too yeah there's a lot of other things that's why

01:02:07.700 sometimes i the beaver right exactly like bucky the beaver exactly a southern staple and like when

01:02:14.920 sasha colby was here i was joking with her and i was like we should like the way they cast like

01:02:19.520 the rock and jason moment whenever they need like a big brown guy they're like who can we think 0.86

01:02:23.680 the rock or jason ask if one of those two are available yeah i said now they should cast me

01:02:28.600 and sasha colby i was like we're here too and she laughs about it and i'm like but see like they

01:02:33.980 just interchange us that's why when i first started doing this i was like during aapi month i'm gonna

01:02:38.820 clean house because there's not enough of us it's me and brightman rock and ravina i'm dead i'm dead

01:02:45.320 not that not many but also pay us all 12 months of the year hello not just may thank you right 0.75

01:02:51.780 that's why i was like and where the fuck we all in fucking april yeah and also post like pre-2019 0.98

01:02:58.860 when it first became a thing to get like you know what i mean like it's so new too yeah it is so 0.96

01:03:05.420 painfully new that's why sometimes i'll see like when they with aapi things they'll be like oh we got

01:03:11.120 a group together of aapi creators and i was like it's just aas and one pi i'm and it's me i'm the

01:03:17.600 only pi you need to have at least more than me i'm dead let's get at least two in the room like i'm dead

01:03:22.940 i'm always the only like like indian or south asian person included yeah yeah exactly me too it's just

01:03:29.500 me and aas that's why i'm like well power and love to you team but let's get some more in here

01:03:34.600 my friend create who's a he's a samuan um creator too well he's like he's all kinds of things he

01:03:40.940 wears so many hats but he's a cultural expert for samuan people and he um does a lot of advisement on

01:03:46.740 you know cultural movies and films and tv shows or whatever and so his thought process is always

01:03:52.620 like i just want it to be like the ratio to be equal so like if there's there doesn't need to be

01:03:58.360 i would love for there to be an equal amount of all of us but if because um asia in general is so

01:04:04.160 huge like it could be that there's just hundreds if not thousands of cultures so he was like i just

01:04:09.940 want the ratio to be equal so it's like 12 to 3 like at least that's movement right we're moving

01:04:16.260 in the right direction so yeah i agree with that yeah you and me ravina now though now now that we

01:04:22.780 pitched it they're gonna hit us up in may no they're gonna come to our line again let's manifest a

01:04:29.680 christmas club oh i would love that yeah let's do it we take a white holiday yeah let's do it

01:04:36.960 we'll call it we'll colonize reverse colonize it

01:04:40.880 okay so just to wrap this up with a pretty little bow um what would you say is your best piece of

01:04:50.660 advice for people who are maybe well first i'll have two advice questions the first is like

01:04:55.380 they want to start kind of learning more about their spirituality um and maybe they're a little

01:05:00.360 nervous because they don't have a lot of information like what would be your best piece of advice for

01:05:03.440 that and then also if you're if they're artists and they want to learn how to marry the two or kind

01:05:08.640 of walk within both at the same time like you do what would you say is your best piece of advice for

01:05:12.900 that as well okay so for spirit i would say create a container an environment for yourself

01:05:22.320 yeah to really go deep in it could look like an altar in your bedroom which could have tarot crystals

01:05:29.520 like good lighting um things that make you feel safe it could be going out to a park going out to

01:05:37.040 a hike and setting up near a tree with a blanket yeah just something that feels good so you can feel

01:05:44.740 grounded and then i would say i feel like the biggest thing when you're first getting into it

01:05:50.480 is letting go of judgment oh totally you know like so many people giggle at themselves yeah when

01:05:57.260 they're first meditating oh that's tea yeah you know because they feel silly silly there's so much 0.99

01:06:03.220 conditioning like we were seeing yeah it's this stupid or too feminine or too um it's really 0.99

01:06:11.640 interesting how racist it is actually yeah yeah and how it's um branded as dumb or like i was just 0.99

01:06:18.440 or airy or not realistic yeah uh so people have all that conditioning yeah so it's like the first step

01:06:26.600 is letting go of judgment and then it's like find a guide like find a good guided meditation um i have

01:06:34.980 one on my last album in the last track i love chani nichols guided meditations she's really great

01:06:41.560 there's so there's so many out there that you can find totally um that's my advice on that love and then

01:06:48.900 for music i would say practice is everything like it all comes down to practice you can't play music

01:06:58.020 unless you put in the hours totally and the work and it's so much deeper than all the internet stuff

01:07:05.920 going on right now because that will take shape in so many different forms yeah and it's going to

01:07:10.480 look so different in one year yeah and then you're going to have to adapt to how to create a new kind of

01:07:16.540 piece of content yeah and what will matter at the end of the day is the music not the marketing yeah

01:07:22.560 exactly like that's true yeah yeah so that's my advice because i feel like now kids are just

01:07:29.100 really isolated from also creating their own sounds which i feel like is very sound is created out of

01:07:36.200 local cultures yeah absolutely being present with local cultures and like what's happening you know

01:07:41.640 tea yeah and like being in your own isolated world of gathering influences not just like what

01:07:47.080 everyone is gravitating towards on the internet totally like copy pasting yeah what what seems to

01:07:52.920 work for other people yeah totally you're like you lose your uniqueness in that too i feel like when

01:07:58.420 you're like you said trying to market like and trying to like feed into what's trending or what's

01:08:03.380 working yeah the marketing stuff comes so much later yeah musician totally put in 10-15 years of

01:08:10.140 practice and then think about the marketing yeah you know yeah then do it yeah well thank you so
