00:00:40.620 welcome to the show queen thank you for having me i'm so happy to have you it's an honor a privilege

00:00:48.520 if you will i'm stoked i'm not lying one of my most requested guests easily it makes sense yeah i

00:00:53.400 think so they sense our energy yeah yeah we go way back you and i i don't even know on the interwebs

00:00:59.900 on the internet but it's our first time meeting in person is it no we met at beyonce that's right we

00:01:04.720 did yeah well you left and went to the more important section and i sat i actually ran away

00:01:08.940 i got overwhelmed at that it was a lot in there huh yeah was that the only beyonce show you went to

00:01:13.800 no i stayed for the whole thing in new york and so at the la one it was like it was real famous it

00:01:20.240 was i got a little nervous and everyone got nervous famous environment so i just snuck out as if you're

00:01:26.120 not one of them you know what's crazy is i filmed a tiktok like with a bunch of different uh of my

00:01:31.120 friends that were in that same box and in the background like the last like two seconds you can

00:01:37.580 see your back scurry like the back of your head like you're leaving i think you're actually like

00:01:41.060 yeah my scurry my anxious scurry yeah and all the comments are like is that kaylani in the back was

00:01:46.420 that her ducking and dodging absolutely yeah for sure you know the back of your head girl i love that

00:01:51.080 i went and looked and i was like that is her yeah you're right that was her hey everyone from me and

00:01:56.640 the back of my head we did talk for two seconds there yeah and then you left i get nervous man i'm

00:02:02.220 like wow i think she's so funny i think she's so cute i have to leave bye yeah adios well i'm happy to

00:02:10.240 have you it's a very exciting time for you right now new music on the horizon it is are you excited

00:02:15.420 yeah i'm nervous excited but i'm i'm really excited what are you nervous about it's been a

00:02:20.320 minute and when it's something that's so important to me because this album is so important to me yeah

00:02:26.680 i'm just i hope it's received in the way that i intend it to be and i think the things you care

00:02:32.160 about the most make you nervous yeah that's true because you put a lot of love and care into it i

00:02:36.860 assume yeah well your first single after hours huge fan everybody on tiktok's a huge huge fan

00:02:42.260 thank you what was it like releasing that song for like how did you come to the conclusion you

00:02:45.640 wanted to put that one out first um i think we wanted to try the formula of dropping a banger for

00:02:53.520 the first time because i have a tendency to like pick my favorite like artsy jam first or like the

00:03:01.160 sweet one the slow one and i was like you know what i want to know that feeling i want to experience

00:03:05.580 what it feels like to like be outside and see people dance to like a song i put out and i just

00:03:11.200 never did it that way before yeah the reaction i think was more overwhelmingly positive from what i

00:03:16.460 saw yeah everybody loved it i'm pleasantly surprised so that that's cool it's cool to me i'm stoked and

00:03:22.540 it's real song of the summer i think so shaking ass summer yeah ass shakery summer for sure yeah 0.70

00:03:29.580 okay so obviously on uh you and i connected on tiktok uh-huh uh i'm curious like how you got

00:03:35.060 on tiktok what made you want to download it because obviously you were you were already

00:03:38.500 kehlani when you but when you got on tiktok i'm curious what made you want to download it i was a

00:03:42.640 notoriously late tiktok bloomer yeah like i really was like i had like a little secret account that

00:03:49.200 didn't have my name on it that i was just like looking up like recipes and like just creeping i thought

00:03:55.740 that's what it was for i didn't really like understand i hadn't seen like the wave of people

00:04:01.180 who were able to like showcase themselves on tiktok i thought it was literally like a search engine like

00:04:06.400 a learning site type shit so i was on there like damn okay i'm watching people like put their vans 0.79

00:04:10.700 together and like do whip coffees and shit like that i was like okay looking up how to cook falafel 0.98

00:04:17.340 literally on tiktok no for real that was it or like those random like dumb life hacks that you feel 0.97

00:04:23.960 so slow after because you're like damn i should have known and like how you properly open a bag 0.94

00:04:28.400 of chips and shit like that you know and then i guess my label had a tiktok in my name already that 0.96

00:04:34.560 was just like posting musical updates and shit like that and everybody was like man you used to be on 0.69

00:04:38.500 vine like you used to be like at least like you're you have a personality to be on there yeah and i just

00:04:46.320 started doing that and then i wiped my tiktok after a while of being like wow i have like social media

00:04:52.240 anxiety and then i started over and here we are it's an addiction i truly believe i've become an

00:04:59.060 ipad baby unfortunately i think we're all ipad babies and then we blame it on the babies

00:05:03.540 i'm significantly worse than my child on this for sure i was gonna i was gonna ask if your baby's

00:05:09.360 an ipad baby um no she learns on there and like it's really helpful and i think it's really funny

00:05:14.700 that we like will deny that it's helpful to like have a occupied baby when you're such a hard worker

00:05:20.340 yeah especially um because my baby wouldn't be a part of everything i do like she's like 0.96

00:05:25.960 you're in a studio i want to come in the booth you're here i want to come here like i want to

00:05:30.180 actively get on the stage with you and do it so i'm like you might have to sit here and play

00:05:34.220 your learning game while i do this if i want to actually get this done yeah totally yeah it's

00:05:39.280 helpful but you said you're more of an ipad i'm an i'm the ipad baby for sure she's like mom mom i'm

00:05:44.120 like my bad i was um i had to drop the single sorry sorry mommy's working yeah i'm working

00:05:49.960 i'm so excited for your new album what can you tell us about it like as far as i know no spoilers

00:05:55.580 but like what can people expect from the new album i think like everybody i've played it for has said

00:06:03.000 that it was not what they expected in a pleasant kind of way yeah and that my favorite compliment i've

00:06:10.480 gotten so far is that my one of my producers said it sounded like all my other albums or always felt

00:06:15.660 like all my albums were made for me but this album felt like it was made for the listener

00:06:18.800 um that's nice yeah i just went out of my way to make something that feels really good that you can

00:06:24.620 play all the way through that has like this like exhilarating kind of like energy to it it's super

00:06:29.900 present it's super like big none of it's like you want to put it on headphones in the back of the

00:06:35.280 car and stare out the window which you know i know that some people say music like that though

00:06:39.320 right go listen to all the last six projects if you know you want to stare out the window in the

00:06:43.820 back of the car but you're real good at that i think i also have this side of my personality that

00:06:49.060 people see you know full of life and fun and like outside and like you know high energy or like

00:06:55.560 in their relationships or like speaking my mind and i think that it's it was time for people to also

00:07:00.520 be able to experience that side yeah you said people people heard how sad me yeah love me but now

00:07:05.680 yeah reminiscing me or whatever yeah i also too want to mention i did go see you in concert like 0.97

00:07:11.620 not last year but the year before at the youtube theater uh and you were incredible bitch if you 1.00

00:07:17.960 haven't seen keilani live but you dance and sing live and you look good thank you that's unfair 0.97

00:07:23.020 it's a tough job i find that i find that insulting to me personally as someone who can't do two of those

00:07:28.000 three things i bet you could if you tried you know i would see you um laugh on a microphone yeah

00:07:34.000 on stage i would i would pay i would pay oh yeah me going i'll go and annoy people for i i do it

00:07:39.980 already for a living well i'll do it live you know what make them pay make them pay that's

00:07:45.380 reparations for me exactly yeah but i also want to say too when i went to your concert i took uh my

00:07:49.980 sister my boyfriend and that was the first like my sister who's a lesbian i always talk about my 0.90

00:07:55.360 lesbian sister team lesbian yeah lesbian sister on the pod i got a lesbian producer a lesbian 1.00

00:08:00.220 assistant surrounded by gays when i first started this show like one of the first comments i got 0.69

00:08:06.000 was like this is just drew in all the most famous gays and lesbians yeah thank you somebody's got to do

00:08:11.780 it for us yeah i was like yeah it's my show so i put people that i like on the show and uh my sister

00:08:17.920 had said that was the first like concert she had gone to like queer space that had almost all black and

00:08:22.960 brown queer or lesbian people and i was like and she said i've never felt more like safe and

00:08:27.740 comfortable at a concert it's so fun it's a time you cultivate is beautiful thank you i have to tell

00:08:33.720 you that thank you i knew it was wraps when like the first show we did it was like this group of

00:08:40.820 studs and i was like staring at them and i was like yeah i'm so stoked y'all here and the girl was 0.99

00:08:45.260 like do it and the girl just pulled her titties out and i was like yes we got stud titties like name 1.00

00:08:50.840 name another show where the stud titties come out you can't and then when i got on tiktok and i was 0.99

00:08:57.600 like am i king of the gays and they were like what about lady gaga and i was like you see stud titties 0.99

00:09:03.620 at lady gaga i doubt it because there's like there's like gay boy stuff and then there's like 1.00

00:09:09.280 gay girl shit and that's we have our shit and it's like our shit so absolutely i'm proud to be a part 1.00

00:09:14.900 absolutely and when you sing um everybody's business right when you see it when you sing it 1.00

00:09:19.720 real slow and sensual at your concert yeah i've never seen anything like that thank you i've never

00:09:25.720 seen anything like it i was every tiktok i was like like like like well thank you that seemed to be

00:09:32.100 everybody's favorite song they were like i hope she picks me i hope she picks me oh well yeah i mean

00:09:36.700 that song was an accident it wasn't supposed to be that way um it started as a completely on stage

00:09:42.760 performance and then i had these stairs and then i got tired of walking up and down the little

00:09:48.900 stairs and i was like and no there actually there was a show where the stairs couldn't come on the

00:09:53.080 stage because the way the stage was set up and they were like you don't have the stairs tonight and

00:09:56.360 i'm like damn i'm supposed to stand there for hate the club like i can't do it so i walk and i 0.77

00:10:02.480 just went down and i was like man if somebody push me or somebody don't want me in their face 0.96

00:10:09.500 and it's gonna be real awkward but i'm gonna have to get stuck right here and i'm just gonna

00:10:13.060 have to sing it and it happened naturally and then i just kept doing it it was never planned

00:10:16.420 i cannot believe that you thought someone would be like kiloni get out of my face you just never 1.00

00:10:21.720 know how people anxiety is gonna react when you're this close yeah that's a really good point i've seen

00:10:26.640 it i've done it really oh my god i sang to this girl and her girlfriend was right next to her and she

00:10:31.000 was like don't she was like don't because she's gonna tweak out on me and i was stuck right there by

00:10:35.040 that time the verse already started i can't move i have to sing it to you so i'm like singing to her

00:10:40.620 and i'm like i am so sorry then i just i just started singing to her girlfriend there you go

00:10:45.300 just all-inclusive package at this point so don't piss nobody off a throuple a love for everyone

00:10:51.360 exactly i think that was the the coolest thing to see all the different tiktoks of people from

00:10:57.720 different angles of you doing it at every single show and you're telling me it wasn't even planned

00:11:01.600 love that thank you for something that stuck naturally

00:11:04.720 so when it comes to i know you said you you wiped your social media now you're back

00:11:10.200 and now you're kind of like you know easing back in slowly but surely how's your journey on social

00:11:15.820 media been it used to be hell yeah it used to be hell on earth but that's also because like i think

00:11:22.000 i think at the time that i came out like musically i always have to differentiate people are like gay

00:11:30.380 um at the time that i came out on the internet was like this really pivotal time of like people

00:11:37.260 only really having youtube yeah and then like vine yeah and then like music on vine was kind of like

00:11:43.380 ew bitch what are you doing like just be funny and go and i was one of the last artists to like 1.00

00:11:47.840 crack off on soundcloud so we were trying to navigate this like pre-streaming but like self-promoting 0.99

00:11:53.700 but like we can still pass out our mixtapes in person because people still care about physical

00:11:57.620 yeah stuff and like getting into that hump of like having to promote yourself as a person for the

00:12:04.660 for so people to for people to understand that to want to support the music yeah we didn't really

00:12:09.840 have the tools because we didn't really have any examples so like artists of my class were trying

00:12:13.640 to figure out like how do we protect ourselves versus how do we let people get to know us enough how

00:12:18.620 do we let people know we have a story what do we save for interviews versus what do we say for like

00:12:24.400 social things we deliver to our fans ourselves and like it was just a lot of trial and error for me and

00:12:30.140 also a lot of like i didn't have anybody older than me to ask about like what do you do about comments

00:12:35.120 and what do you do about people who have negative things to say because the artists i looked up to

00:12:39.760 didn't have social media like they just what are they gonna look at youtube comments they're gonna get

00:12:44.480 on facebook like i you know i don't know like it wasn't this like close like you could open your

00:12:50.540 phone and see what people have to say so yeah so like that instant like review it's right there

00:12:55.940 it's right there so yeah it was just it was just a big learning lesson and now i'm just learning how

00:13:00.960 to navigate it in a way where i protect my peace the most and yeah totally and also that i had to 0.92

00:13:05.160 really learn to find shit funny i did i just had to be like honestly this shit is kind of funny 0.95

00:13:10.620 i gotta laugh with y'all yeah because the internet is so fickle and also so awful like it can be the 0.97

00:13:19.680 best thing ever or the worst thing to ever happen to you for no reason no in between i see like girls

00:13:25.000 get up and just like all they do is wake up and get out of bed and like make a little lip sync video

00:13:30.940 and then they're viral and it's like a million comments of people being treacherous and i'm like

00:13:35.160 yeah where do we draw the line i have no clue it's truly so blurred now especially it's like

00:13:41.980 it's almost popular to hate like to be it's so ugly yeah it's one of those i i feel like that's

00:13:47.460 another reason why my platform was so weird in the beginning because i mine is like one of the few

00:13:53.480 built off the shoulders of hate like directed at me personally you flipped it though you flipped that 0.95

00:13:58.660 bitch on his head it is so admirable yeah yeah that that having to deal with that that's why 1.00

00:14:04.060 sometimes people ask me like how do i deal with hate comments and i'm like well i'm never letting 0.99

00:14:08.220 a bitch uglier than me tell me i'm ugly so that's pretty easy especially a man please are you kidding 1.00

00:14:13.680 but i feel like someone like you um who is so like authentically themselves i feel like that's another 0.99

00:14:20.640 reason why a lot of people gravitate towards you on social specifically because you i feel like you

00:14:25.020 obviously you promote your music and obviously everybody knows you're an artist but seeing the

00:14:28.240 other side of you is the part i think that people really love because people are nosy

00:14:31.760 as hell yeah they're nosy they're all of you but i think people can sense your energy even

00:14:39.060 through social that's probably why it's like all with love a lot of times but it's mostly love but 0.99

00:14:43.840 that hate that sneaks past security it'd be old shit i'm realizing it'd be like old shit and it'd be 0.99

00:14:50.380 dudes which is like your whole jam so i'm glad we're here yeah it'd be that and it'd be like 1.00

00:14:58.100 people who hold me to some unrealistic standard of like some timeline of my career that i'm unaware

00:15:05.520 of like like oh well you're not gonna be able to do this or compete with this or like you're

00:15:10.720 supposed to be here right now i'm like how you know i'm not chilling how do you know that i don't

00:15:14.360 love exactly where i'm at and i'm having a good old fucking time like i okay yeah it's like yeah it's 0.96

00:15:19.800 very invisible parameters you're like how do you what do you know that i don't right oh i at this point 0.85

00:15:25.000 everyone's me everyone is me yeah and your bestie and we're just all here together i was gonna ask

00:15:30.840 about men in your comments because obviously you're a very very gorgeous beautiful lady thank you but 0.92

00:15:35.420 um you're also a very very proud and open lesbian yes so i'm sure men are big creepy weirdos yeah and

00:15:41.080 i think that they really have no like concept of like uh the timeline of sexuality yeah like i don't

00:15:49.800 think i it's just not it like their brain breaks at the idea that i have a child and that i have had

00:15:56.000 boyfriends in my lifetime yeah their brain their their brain sorry the window closed yeah they get

00:16:03.200 rattled and they're like watching them do math in the comments like but she got a kid and she was with 0.98

00:16:09.840 so and so and i'm like and now i'm a lesbian if anything that's the most convicted lesbian you're all

00:16:14.920 yeah no i've had it and yeah no i made my choice yeah and i had to damn near apologize to all the 0.86

00:16:20.240 men like damn i shouldn't even have did that like that i don't know what i was doing there sorry

00:16:24.480 i was talking to one of our friends uh my friends the other day and she was telling me because she's 0.95

00:16:28.940 a lesbian too and she was like after she had her first lesbian heartbreak which is devastating and 0.93

00:16:33.140 awful and earth-shattering oh yeah you're dying yeah for sure it's like a whole nother level of like

00:16:39.340 heartbreak and uh she was telling me about it and then she was saying so then i was like okay maybe

00:16:43.660 maybe i'll try dating men so she said she went out on a date with a man then they went home so they

00:16:48.040 were like trying she was trying to make out with him and she said in the middle of it she goes i

00:16:52.060 literally can't do this i'm a lesbian like she stopped and she goes i'm gonna need you to go home 0.87

00:16:56.220 and he went home yeah i mean look at that look at him bravo to that man yes took his hell and went

00:17:02.180 home yeah that's but i just i was dying when she was like i in the middle of it i was like i can't do

00:17:07.100 this i'm i am so gay i can't do this yeah i had so many moments of that and then i was like

00:17:13.200 okay but like this doesn't feel all the way off or like this like i'm not totally repulsed i just

00:17:19.040 have had moments where i'm like you like making peace i know what i would rather be doing right

00:17:23.680 now and i just didn't take the time to like center myself enough and be alone for long enough to like

00:17:29.080 honor that and recognize that i was like involved with a guy at the time that i realized i was gay

00:17:35.040 and i was like love you as as a friend brother yeah my brother my friend my bestie my bestie

00:17:44.000 because yeah don't know but it don't work it's not working and then a girl would look at me and i 0.99

00:17:48.880 would just fall out on the floor you're like yeah i'm like when women look at you and you're like i i 1.00

00:17:54.880 think i like men well yeah i would be with boys and i would just be like

00:17:59.920 compliment me and i'd be like thanks and a girl would be like you're so pretty and i'm like

00:18:06.340 like oh my god calling everybody like y'all i i fell in love this girl at the elevator told me i was

00:18:14.520 pretty and i've been thinking about her for three days and a man tells you you're like what yeah i was

00:18:20.300 like okay thanks everybody think that bye i don't mean when men come when you're like yeah i know

00:18:27.500 right go stand in line behind all the girls yeah i know i was gonna ask you um since obviously when

00:18:34.640 you when you did come out you were already kaylani and i was i'm curious like what you

00:18:38.700 don't obviously don't have to share anything you don't want to but like how was that process for you

00:18:42.940 when it comes to like your fan base when it comes to your music it was on accident again

00:18:47.260 the thing is i had i had for real no i'm the accident it's because i'm not like i'm not like

00:18:53.580 quick enough like some people like that especially that are like my peers i i'm so jealous of the way

00:18:58.840 they move around because it's so like there's so much thought and there's so much like they put so

00:19:03.680 much in place for like nothing to ever happen and me i'm always like damn i probably should have did

00:19:08.760 that like should just be happening and we just go with the flow kind of queen yeah so i hadn't been on

00:19:14.680 instagram live in a really long time i was in like a spiritual process that you know it required

00:19:19.980 me to be very inward and like away from social media a lot and like just aimlessly going on live

00:19:25.580 and i actually hadn't been on live in like six seven months and my one of my best friends was on live in

00:19:30.920 my house and i was walking in the background because i was cooking and they saw me in the background they

00:19:36.260 was like oh my god we miss you like like what's going on you're in the back get on live and i popped

00:19:41.220 there real quick and i was like well i finally know i'm a lesbian and i like why did it was like 0.99

00:19:46.840 20 people in the live bro it was like 20 people and i should have known clipped they got you yeah 0.99

00:19:53.680 they they they cut that shit down the next day i'm on like i'm getting calls from my manager like gay 1.00

00:19:59.640 magazine said they have this clip of you and then magazine and blah blah blah and i'm like okay i was 0.99

00:20:07.900 serious but also like that was a joke but i was serious you know like that wasn't my like big

00:20:13.720 coming out statement no and i was like you know i just gotta rock with it at this point look i just

00:20:18.040 have to like i guess that's my coming out but like i had already been single and lesbian for months by

00:20:24.560 then and just like really like my friends knew and yeah my whole family was like girl okay you've been 0.96

00:20:32.240 dating girls your whole life my friends were like bitch duh like we see how down bad you be over girls 1.00

00:20:36.940 and how not down bad at all you be over guys so yeah did you move on real quick when you would break 0.97

00:20:43.020 up with men they just didn't even exist to me like it would just i'd be like wow sometimes i look back

00:20:48.780 and i'm like that was a fever dream like i that wasn't me i'll see them in the world and i'm like

00:20:54.620 that did happen didn't it yeah that was my bad we were we were boyfriends so i'm curious how was

00:21:02.800 your what was your fan base reaction was it i'm assuming it was positive but i'm curious it's it's

00:21:09.900 like what we have to recognize as my core fan base versus like the people who enjoy my music and like

00:21:17.660 me for potentially other reasons i'm personally super grateful that when you zoom out i technically

00:21:24.600 cut my fan base in half based on the girls who listen to me to sing along about guys and the guys

00:21:32.480 who listen to me or were banking their listening to me on attraction yeah and i'm grateful that

00:21:39.220 i ended up actually just created a stronger bond with the people who listen to me just because they

00:21:44.540 love me for who i am totally and gained a lot of people who resonate with me because they felt like

00:21:49.200 they didn't have as much representation as they should absolutely and um i was pleasantly surprised

00:21:54.880 that like the numbers were still strong and the tour was still strong and things like that because

00:21:59.680 i was nervous i'm like man like what about all the boys that come to my shows because they like

00:22:03.360 want to engage with like a female artist that's singing to them or like what about all the girls 0.85

00:22:07.760 that are coming and want to hear all the like i changed all the lyrics live so that i wouldn't feel

00:22:14.460 uncomfortable singing them like so when you come to the show and you hear the songs about boys i

00:22:18.080 change all the pronouns to she period and anything that says the d word gets changed too so you know

00:22:25.380 like but people still came and i was i was grateful so and the men that come for the wrong reasons like

00:22:32.020 they don't even be coming no more no of course they don't good good riddance me outside being like

00:22:36.900 don't you dare don't you dare come in here don't you dare me just yeah to swing on any 0.68

00:22:41.040 boyfriends come though yeah my boyfriend came and he loved because he loves i'm glad he had a

00:22:45.180 good time because the boyfriends be in there capping they really do they be in they be enjoying

00:22:50.800 themselves and then they like i like look at them and i always point them out and i'm like you look

00:22:55.100 like you hate it here and i'm on stage like you hate it here and the girlfriend's like oh my god 0.84

00:23:00.040 he loves it he's having such a good time like and i'm like it's okay it's all good this is this is

00:23:06.120 indeed for the girls yeah for the i am for the girls literally yeah that's it period literally

00:23:11.060 at the end of that sentence even when i when i went to your concert uh my boyfriend was like

00:23:15.980 i know i don't ask to go to things but i really want to go to that and i was like okay you know

00:23:20.020 that's why we love him yeah i mean we love him for a lot of reasons but we love him yeah i collectively

00:23:25.860 i'm speaking for the collective we love him yeah i know footsteps is one of his favorite songs of

00:23:31.200 we both love music soul child you got taste girl we both grew up on music soul child i was like and

00:23:36.960 guess what i put him on to that song yeah thank you yeah thank you like genuinely i'm so happy that

00:23:42.980 your audience has been so receptive because the especially in music we need it's true they do need

00:23:48.280 more representation like queer lesbian artists that are black and brown are important to the space

00:23:53.260 yeah and i feel like is that something that is really like is it does it feel like a really heavy

00:23:59.380 responsibility or does it feel because you're one of the few yeah or does it feel kind of like

00:24:03.540 both like an honor and also a little bit heavy i'm curious it doesn't feel heavy it feels uh like

00:24:09.820 there's a responsibility to consistently shed light on the many that do exist because it's not that they

00:24:14.540 don't exist it's just that there's few that get to like break the mold especially for uh black and

00:24:21.100 brown queer people and especially lesbians that don't look digestible to the opposite sex like mask people 1.00

00:24:27.860 like all we have was sid for a while you know i mean there's there's a lot more coming up but for

00:24:34.200 a while it was only sid and it was like that's because it was digestible by way of like odd future

00:24:39.200 and then like we had this whole queer wave and it was like all right like people are not being ignorant 0.98

00:24:44.760 to that like now sid is like a freaking like gay pop star in my opinion sid is a fucking star yeah and 0.98

00:24:51.580 then we have like cody shane and we have like amore like we have a lot of black lesbians that are coming up 1.00

00:24:57.720 black queer people i don't i don't i can't speak on if doji is a lesbian or bisexual i don't really 0.99

00:25:01.920 know but just seeing so many like open like gay like women loving women like it's the shit to me 1.00

00:25:10.860 so again my responsibility level is just like i have to make sure every chance i get i say people's 0.99

00:25:15.900 names every chance i get if somebody's like who's your favorite artist who who do you want to open

00:25:20.200 up for you who do you want to exist in this space with who can you bring on that i just pass that torch

00:25:24.680 in that way or just uplift where i can i think we all have a responsibility whether it's like

00:25:29.320 culturally or to just whatever community we're tied to i think we have that responsibility absolutely

00:25:35.660 and speaking of your concerts too like i'm i knew that you would be very intentional with picking like

00:25:41.100 who opens for you yeah especially elevating artists new artists or up-and-coming artists or artists that

00:25:46.140 are not typically seen in the space like you were saying like ones that are not femme presenting or like

00:25:51.560 they don't fit within a mold like that men are attracted to them yeah it's a lot harder for

00:25:55.460 them to get into the more mainstream side yeah so um i'm assuming you're very intentional when you

00:26:01.260 like like you said when you choose who opens for you right yeah last tour i had destin who was my

00:26:07.120 little baby love and that's a gay pop star he he is the gayest gay boy down like gets online every day 0.99

00:26:15.420 and says good morning girls and gays like love y'all like and on stage sings to boys makes beautiful

00:26:21.340 music about boys like and has a very strong male fan base like okay period they love him down like

00:26:28.140 straight male fan base and it's like just proving like if the music is good you don't have to keep

00:26:33.800 gendering it and you don't also have to keep making it a sexuality thing like totally you can just like

00:26:39.380 the music it's fantastic he's fantastic i know um rico nasty i'm a super fan of i just think she's

00:26:45.880 like she is one of the first people i ever saw genre bend in that way one of the first people i saw

00:26:53.040 break also like a racial mold of like what we placed for only like white girls like alternative 1.00

00:26:59.340 like punky like white people and rico nasty broke all of that she was one of the first people i see be 0.99

00:27:05.740 really alternative and punky and spunky and fucking cool and like badass and loud and like yeah i'm a 0.63

00:27:11.480 fan i know love her she was on the show too and she was so fun i'm a fan she's so cool i was just 0.66

00:27:16.260 like i was i think i was just like real coquette like i like i was like trying something new and she

00:27:20.800 came in a mullet like a like a crazy spiky mullet and like these giant pants and giant shoes and i was 0.93

00:27:27.020 like because it don't matter what it don't matter coolest bitch alive hurt right exactly she's the coolest 1.00

00:27:31.440 bitch alive when we're talking she also loves top golf did you know that about her 1.00

00:27:34.780 no she's real weird about top golf i don't put nothing she a tourist i don't put nothing past 0.98

00:27:39.780 us we got interest random interest i made a joke about top golf yeah i made a joke about top golf 0.99

00:27:45.400 and she was like not too much on top golf i love that wow i hate top golf what the fuck are you 0.91

00:27:49.300 doing on top golf i hate i hate top golf i hate golf me too yeah it's boring won't won't can't 0.98

00:27:56.420 that's one of those things where i'm like too white i can't get into it guys just boring like

00:28:00.020 hiking i'm kind of like i do like hiking but only okay not too much i'm hiking

00:28:03.900 be a tourist yeah what the outside do to you but you're you're a tourist yeah yeah exactly that's

00:28:09.360 why you're earth queen exactly i'm an earth sign too so technically i should like it but are you a

00:28:13.560 capricorn are you no i'm a virgo that's why i'm so mean yeah but that's why you could you could

00:28:19.860 sting people like that that's why you dragging them never goes are certified draggers

00:28:23.680 yeah yeah and i never forget literally anything yeah i'd never want smoke with you guys ever

00:28:30.080 at peace i know some people tell me when they're like when i found out you were virgo i was like

00:28:34.320 yeah that makes sense yeah that makes a lot of sense as soon as i said capricorn i was like wait

00:28:39.000 yeah they're not as funny as virgo y'all are y'all are funny that's real that's real and mean 0.98

00:28:45.620 and that's okay oh that's why that's why all my friends are gay because gay people are also mean 0.99

00:28:51.100 and that's why they like are we not you okay yeah that's because you're a little baby taurus 0.96

00:28:56.480 yeah i love taurus women taurus women they they ride with me i feel like we're they're a lot

00:29:01.240 chiller than me we're easy yeah super you know unless you're trying to tell us we're wrong then

00:29:07.240 well you know other than that other than that other than that i'm chill i'm chilling i was talking to my

00:29:12.860 friend on the phone yesterday and she was i was telling her yeah i told her to do this and she didn't 0.92

00:29:16.720 listen to me and then it came true and i was like i told you and then she was like i would listen to

00:29:20.860 you even if you had no logic at all simply because you're a virgo and i was like period and i'm never

00:29:25.380 wrong so i'd be listening to y'all yeah they know yeah they just know i don't want to get yelled at

00:29:30.860 but i'd be i'd be listening to y'all i know i'm feeling virgos are one of those where i'm like

00:29:36.120 i don't want to say i told you so but yes y'all do i do yeah yeah i'm going to it's okay i'm going

00:29:42.580 to because i need to because it feels it keeps me explode if you don't yeah it adds five years to

00:29:47.620 my life every time i'm proven right i'm gonna live till i'm a million bitch but okay we're 0.99

00:29:54.000 gonna transition into our topic okay so the topic is uh men on the internet who tried to police women 0.80

00:29:58.960 or femme presenting people expressing their sexuality freely and miss kehlani has done that 0.65

00:30:04.280 you do that and sometimes in your music and sometimes you don't like you're very fluid with

00:30:07.280 it so it's not something that's like if i feel like shaking ass i'm gonna shake ass if i feel like 0.89

00:30:13.060 having a big t-shirt on and baggy pants and sitting my like i just i just do what i want 0.94

00:30:18.360 yeah and i even think the girls who shake ass every single day they're just doing what they want 1.00

00:30:23.420 there's also not a method to that madness we're all just doing what we want yeah isn't that the 0.98

00:30:27.660 whole point right i also think too when men try to police like shaking ass i'm like you don't want 0.93

00:30:32.020 to see that i also feel like they be shaking ass no no no let's get into it no because i know y'all 0.96

00:30:38.060 be at the house looking over your shoulder seeing if you could do it you know why because 0.93

00:30:43.320 you're competitive you're competitive you want to compete with us every chance you get so at what 0.97

00:30:48.220 point did you draw the line at shaking ass because that's a sport and a skill right they want to see 0.95

00:30:53.740 if there's movement i know y'all be stop it and y'all be naturally thicker than us sometimes like 0.97

00:30:58.620 you know how like god be giving like like lashes like you always see little boys with like long 0.99

00:31:04.720 glasses you're like damn y'all be having ass they're caked up that's what i'm saying i know 0.99

00:31:10.740 you be shaking it and when you walk in it bounce by itself that count too 1.00

00:31:13.760 shake what god gave you wiggle when you walk yeah exactly a wagon we all want it's okay that's why 0.99

00:31:21.900 i'm like you don't want to see it that's fine shut your fucking mouth i want to see it that's 1.00

00:31:25.840 why i'm like stop maybe it wasn't for y'all yeah close your eyes okay you're gonna ruin it for 1.00

00:31:30.800 the rest of us who enjoy watching it yeah thank you and i'm sure it expands way past shaking ass 0.96

00:31:35.360 too it's just like when when women just exist freely they really don't like oh yeah you can't 1.00

00:31:39.100 be cute you can't even be not cute you just can't be you just can't be yeah they get very angry at

00:31:46.280 that yeah anytime you do literally anything i'm at the laughable point luckily we're like i read it and 1.00

00:31:51.220 i'm like this is hilarious like i just imagine them like type and hella stupid on the fucking 1.00

00:31:57.760 computer and like really saying and being like i showed that bitch i fucking told her like 1.00

00:32:02.520 yeah you you sure did you got me you really did you got me i'm never doing it again 0.99

00:32:07.920 i can't shake ass anymore someone on the internet told me it's bad i can't do it anymore guys a man 0.98

00:32:14.080 with no job told me he didn't like it okay so this first video is the woman in this is analyzing 0.93

00:32:20.420 responses to sabrina carpenter's music video feather which she filmed partially in a catholic church

00:32:25.440 after controversy online from people who weren't happy with her wearing a short dress while filming 0.91

00:32:29.580 around an altar sabrina responded we got approval in advance and jesus was a carpenter and traditional

00:32:35.860 conservative people in the comments were not happy that's so funny yeah i'm a stand if jesus was a

00:32:42.560 carpenter yeah yeah that's great i love i love a witty backfire right honestly i have no comment on like 0.95

00:32:49.820 the whole religious aspect of it because i think people was probably shaking ass in every century

00:32:55.200 oh in every religion in every uh shape i don't know if you've seen people catch the holy ghost 0.97

00:33:01.220 but sometimes you can't help it the ass sometimes you can't help it at the altar they just look 0.96

00:33:07.840 bouncing up and down and some sometimes it shakes it still counts it still does 0.99

00:33:13.080 it's shaking ass is ancestral so i have nothing to say about that um this next video it says in 0.96

00:33:19.960 this quote advice video for men a man is warning guys that if they're dating a woman when she exposes 0.98

00:33:26.860 her body she wants more attention that's a quote he says if you're a man and you allow your woman to 1.00

00:33:32.880 dress provocatively on social media and allow yeah allow basically allowing her to cheat on you

00:33:38.980 okay handler go on i know i'm like okay dog owner uh i find that so i feel like that speaks to 0.98

00:33:48.360 men's lack of control if they're like don't have your tits out around me otherwise i don't know what 0.99

00:33:54.400 i'm gonna do yeah i just you're a weirdo i just love that i feel so far removed from this conversation 1.00

00:33:59.280 like a bitch would never a bad bitch would simply not ever she would put her tiny skirt on right next 1.00

00:34:07.620 to me and we would go tiny skirted up and be cute girls together i just love that this is not my life 0.99

00:34:13.460 like girl i know lucky and for the girls that it is leave him alone because i will say this while i do

00:34:21.080 think that it's we need to generalize that so that men can put that into their bodies so that they can 0.99

00:34:27.100 change and the mankind can heal they can begin to heal i have experienced some very supportive men

00:34:33.960 who will not act that way towards you and i think that that's the tip of the iceberg of you don't know 0.91

00:34:39.860 what type of crazy shit is gonna come next from a man if he's acting like that about your clothing 0.99

00:34:44.400 yeah all shit all seriousness like jokes aside like the levels of potential crazy shit that can be 1.00

00:34:53.020 under there just like immediately if you if you are if the words allowed you're being allowed to 0.99

00:35:00.660 dress because first of all what the hell does dressing have to do with cheating like i i i don't give a 0.97

00:35:06.040 fuck if i go outside naked what do that got to do with cheating what does it have to do next girl leave 1.00

00:35:13.080 him yeah leave him now leave him now yeah sometimes when when women ask me like how do i know if they're 1.00

00:35:19.140 like that i'm like you know they say things that you ignore or you choose to look past because you're

00:35:24.560 like well maybe he didn't mean it that way if the flag is red baby the flag is red for real there's no

00:35:29.100 changing the color of the flag it's there a flag is a flag yeah and it's also very like you said it's

00:35:35.220 like it's the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to any level of abuse like it starts small with

00:35:41.540 stuff like that like well i don't like when you wear that or i don't want to allow you to wear it 0.98

00:35:45.420 it's like the verbiage they use is very intentional and specific and also every time men say shit like 0.91

00:35:52.060 this like oh women dress like that for men's attention they they are literally not factoring 1.00

00:35:56.760 in lesbians like ever i'm like lesbians don't want men to ever look at them ever if they if they 0.78

00:36:01.780 could they would exist in world with only women so like that's why i love my shows yeah exactly 1.00

00:36:06.920 it's so fun i'm like i don't gotta worry about nothing y'all got going on like the girls are here

00:36:12.340 having a time okay like they just are and i say girls even gender neutrally because the girls be 0.99

00:36:19.360 there too having a time yeah so i'm just like i honestly can't i can't relate and that's a good thing

00:36:26.020 but i have at some point and it has indeed gotten worse from that point every single time i have

00:36:31.140 experienced that kind of man and all i can say to that is like it's not a that's all there is

00:36:38.080 that's worrisome it's never that's where it begins and ends like that is the beginning and there is a

00:36:43.800 long end and we're in an era of what feels like has been like the rebirth in a really beautiful way of

00:36:51.700 like women being on top in this like really expansive like i do what i want i wear what i want i be i take 0.83

00:36:58.180 up space i be as loud as possible like women are dominating every single industry there is for the 1.00

00:37:03.460 first time in a really long time and every genre of music like fashion art sports everything there

00:37:10.840 it is it is women and femme centered yeah and you don't have to put up with nothing the ocean is big 1.00

00:37:17.220 as hell it really is i promise you like love yourself and respect yourself enough to like be like i don't 0.60

00:37:25.900 have to take even the smallest amount of bullshit because i think we wait we i'm saying we like i 0.76

00:37:31.080 still do with men but in general i think as people we wait for things to get real bad before we're like 0.94

00:37:37.940 okay i can't be here anymore i don't want to i you know don't just don't wait yeah you're so me

00:37:44.440 you're so me coded i've told people i'm like i i literally stopped talking to a dude because he made

00:37:48.600 up a word to me once and i couldn't take it i was like oh oh you'll never see me again in the talk

00:37:54.280 he was like kind of talking down to me in a way like he was trying to explain to me how smart he

00:37:59.140 was and i was like hey okay well i've never met a smart person that felt the need to tell me how

00:38:03.340 smart they were but sure and then in the middle of that monologue he was giving me which i don't

00:38:07.480 remember because i wasn't listening was he made up a word and i wish to this day i could remember it

00:38:11.600 oh because i would use it yeah and i was like oh yeah you'll never see me again and then you want

00:38:17.080 to hear t fast forward to me doing this for a living one day i was like i went to this big like

00:38:22.500 event and i can't say where it was and he was working security at the event period i saw him

00:38:29.040 and i was like yeah i'd have been like you better be protecting this space

00:38:34.020 as you saw him i was like oh god jesus christ and then when i introduced him to my boyfriend i was

00:38:41.980 like oh this is my boyfriend we went to college together and then like i was like oh yeah we just 1.00

00:38:46.120 went to college together i was like you shut up shut your fucking mouth whoever you were talking to 1.00

00:38:51.740 she's dead i killed her sorry she's dead but yeah you're right you're so right like it's i've told 1.00

00:38:58.940 women before i'm like the first sign of something that makes you uncomfortable makes you you don't 1.00

00:39:03.660 like leave yeah leave or address it immediately if it doesn't get any better yeah because people i

00:39:08.580 mean people do put their foot in their mouths and i do believe in like yeah having grace for a lot of

00:39:13.100 things but there are there are different pipelines yeah there's definitely like this is the pipeline

00:39:18.300 of crazy this is the pipeline of abuse this is the pipeline of of definitely going to cheat this

00:39:24.860 is the like with everyone regardless of gender and i think at some point you have to like

00:39:29.940 have your like list of i know what this means yeah like i know what what's one of those things this

00:39:36.660 falls on because again no relationship is going to be perfect and like nobody you're ever with is

00:39:41.780 going to arrive to you perfect but there are things that are just signs of character flaw totally like

00:39:48.260 non-negotiables yeah like if something's just wrong with your character your morality that's different

00:39:53.540 than like we are having a communication issue or we communicate differently or we might like different 0.97

00:39:58.740 things i still rock with who you are at the core yeah people saying shit like that that's a 0.99

00:40:03.840 fundamental flaw yeah yeah for sure yeah something wrong with you yeah that's absolutely women are so 1.00

00:40:08.440 intuitive and empathetic naturally and i've said before that women women are forced to develop

00:40:13.700 empathy at a very young age whereas men have to choose whether or not they want to learn it at a

00:40:18.740 very late age and that's determines who becomes awful and who's not yeah and women are naturally so smart 1.00

00:40:24.880 and like intuitive so they you know that's why i'm like i i don't have a superpower that you don't have

00:40:30.740 like i i genuinely believe women sense energy and they have these gut instincts and sometimes they ignore

00:40:36.400 them to placate other like men like or to make them feel better prioritize their feelings which is

00:40:42.180 something women naturally do and that's why i feel like it's important that people like you and i

00:40:47.180 emphasize that you don't have to do that for men who are harmful to you for anyone because as a as a 0.98

00:40:53.460 lesbian i don't see some toxic lesbian shit we be toxic shit be happening and when we fight it's like 1.00

00:41:00.600 world war three so like i you know regardless of gender i think because also there's genderless 1.00

00:41:08.300 relationships totally i say this to say in any capacity if you recognize that something is on a

00:41:15.340 pipeline to potentially being way crazier yeah you have to care about you you enough in that way to

00:41:23.520 like and sometimes you feel stupid sometimes you're like damn i'm leaving over something so small or like 0.99

00:41:28.840 yeah totally whatever whatever like because honestly we've been taught that shit is not bad 0.99

00:41:33.640 until it's the worst exactly that's that's why i mean like our grace and save yourself the time baby 0.92

00:41:38.100 we're not getting no younger we're just not like save yourself the time and the trauma thank you

00:41:43.440 don't you want to go to therapy later yeah it's expensive you gotta probably run through a couple of

00:41:48.740 them like it takes up an hour of your day twice a week like you know although hey hey everybody do get

00:41:55.680 therapy yeah if you can and you are willing please do but save yourself like the trauma coaching

00:42:00.280 like it's not worth it trust me sometimes it makes you funny and sometimes it doesn't right right okay

00:42:07.800 so some of the comments on this this one says as a woman that's good for her husband or her partner 0.98

00:42:12.540 why would you be dressing half naked why not you don't want me to be a hot girl okay damn because 0.95

00:42:20.560 how did i get you in the first place exactly because you thought i was a hot girl right so 0.98

00:42:24.860 then you want to get with me you want me to be i don't get it just do you love me for who i am or do

00:42:31.720 you not period because i don't believe in changing who people are i love to be in all of the person

00:42:38.040 that i'm with i like i'm an aries venus like i have to be like gagged at my partner like in what

00:42:46.020 they do and who they are in their passions and like how they express themselves it doesn't have

00:42:50.520 anything to do with what's going on on the outside it's how passionate they are about life if if if

00:42:55.140 you're part of your passion and self-expression is how you show up and get to leave the house every

00:42:59.620 day i'm going to be turned off if you start dumbing down who you are because you think you 1.00

00:43:04.060 have to do that to impress me in a relationship totally live your rock star life yeah period bitch 1.00

00:43:08.600 if my girl's outside shaking it and throw it in whatever the fuck she want outside i'm about to be 1.00

00:43:13.120 like live your life live your best life i love i love you at your most full of life i love you at 0.99

00:43:20.400 your most full of joy i love you at your most excited like the second you become dull that's when

00:43:26.060 the relationship suffers absolutely because we're two unhappy people absolutely and you're not being

00:43:30.300 who you really are you're not like walking that's not why i liked you exactly that's not what i was

00:43:34.680 attracted to exactly and also too it's just so like i feel like it's indicative more of like

00:43:41.340 who that person is like if you feel that insecure about your partner even though that's why you

00:43:46.540 liked them in the first place it says more about you than it does about them maybe you need to go 0.97

00:43:50.560 shake some ass yeah or wear the short skirt i forgot what the what the what it's all it's one in the 0.97

00:43:57.080 same it's all the same you need to go do you yeah yeah and also too it's like why wouldn't it takes a 1.00

00:44:03.320 bad bitch to date a bad bitch right so like it real recognize real girl yeah game recognized game so 1.00

00:44:09.460 like if you don't have it that's why you hate it yeah so go work on yourself go get it and then maybe 1.00

00:45:14.900 play responsibly comment says this isn't misogyny it's just boundaries which i've actually made a video 0.99

00:45:21.360 about because i there was a famous guy who was doing that shit to his girlfriend 0.99

00:45:24.740 boundaries yeah giving men the the gift of therapizing language was a curse put on this 1.00

00:45:31.540 fucking earth the way they misuse that shit is great like they the way they misuse gaslighting 0.99

00:45:37.840 and boundaries oh just the buzzwords buzzword boys they're like you're gaslighting me i'm like i 1.00

00:45:42.180 that is gaslighting that's not what that is you're that's gaslighting oh my gosh i even said in that

00:45:49.080 video like boundaries are for you right they're not supposed to strip your partner of autonomy

00:45:53.620 like that's not a boundary it's a demand like when you say like oh that's just my boundary it's

00:45:58.380 supposed to be like if you were an alcoholic and you're like i can't go to parties with alcohol

00:46:02.260 because it's too tempting for me that's a boundary yeah that's not like hey y'all don't have no alcohol

00:46:06.720 at this party i just can't go to the party exactly that's why that's your boundary you're exerting it

00:46:11.740 when you say like you're not allowed to do that that's not a boundary that it really robs couples of

00:46:17.160 being able to have really like deep vulnerable conversations and get to the root because there's

00:46:23.200 a way to say hey yeah this makes me uncomfortable and your partner can go well why and then if you're

00:46:30.260 vulnerable enough to get through the why and to answer that honestly yeah your partner might end up

00:46:35.340 being able to tell you like oh i don't feel so good about myself or i have an ex who went to a party

00:46:41.760 once and cheated on me and had that had nothing to do with how she was dressed blah blah blah like 1.00

00:46:45.880 you can actually get all the way down and actually come out of that conversation with like a new

00:46:51.360 understanding and a deeper connection to your partner but like you're refusing to get to that

00:46:57.520 when like you're not being honest about what the root of the problem is because it's not that she has 0.97

00:47:02.320 on a tiny outfit it's fucking not there's no way the math doesn't math that's not the math oh girl 0.97

00:47:08.440 you'd be shocked to see what some people were wearing like ask people what they were wearing 0.99

00:47:11.960 when they cheated was it something skimpy girl i doubt it you know what i'm saying y'all was naked 0.99

00:47:16.660 cheating what are we talking about that's what i'm saying like if someone's cheating if they've made 0.96

00:47:22.740 the choice to cheat it doesn't fucking matter what they're wearing like it literally doesn't matter 0.87

00:47:26.620 that is a conscious it's here yeah here they've made the choice already it's not let me find out 0.93

00:47:31.260 they got cheat fits right cheat costumes and it just turns your cheater on it's like it's something

00:47:37.720 you put on it you're just like tiny skirt cheat mode activated yeah literally like the hulk like

00:47:42.580 they're like i can't i can't i can't i can feel it you put it on i can't i can't you won't like

00:47:47.060 the cheat loads yeah yeah they wake up naked in a ditch dead bodies everywhere oh my god oh no i

00:47:53.860 cheated again oh god my my man's gonna be so mad at me i cheated again you just turn green and destroy 0.89

00:48:01.560 everything around you that's my version of cheating and i agree obviously i'm like well you can sing 0.99

00:48:06.360 duh i was gonna say you're a very talented singer i can't sing for shit but i've told people i think 0.95

00:48:11.100 that was god humbling me like he doesn't he doesn't give a both hands like he made me funny but he's 0.96

00:48:15.440 like i can't give you i can't give you singing and math you and just general basic math no i have

00:48:21.160 i think it's pronounced dyscalculus which is like dyslexia for numbers really i'm talking about if we

00:48:28.240 walking into the restaurant with a party of people and the restaurant say how many people don't look at me

00:48:33.080 because i'm going to get it wrong like if anything so if you looked at a group of people

00:48:38.300 you'd be like that could be i don't know i'm actually my brain might break trying to tell

00:48:42.420 you how many people are in this room i'm gonna have to start over three times no for real what are you

00:48:46.820 talking for real it's a real thing like numbers like i have someone with me always has to tip or i

00:48:52.560 just naturally over tip okay like my friends had to grab things from me and be like let me put the

00:48:57.960 correct amount because you have to stop just leaving that much money because you're doing a

00:49:02.540 lot and i'm like i'm actually snapping because like pay servers they deserve it maybe i'm on to

00:49:07.800 something like honestly rock out whole time it's coming from the root of like i actually am so scared

00:49:12.620 of like under tipping people because that's so fucked up that i'm like i'm just gonna do that i'm just 0.96

00:49:17.100 gonna do this you do something crazy and my friends are like bro you could have tipped like 0.93

00:49:21.620 fifteen dollars and i'm like or like six dollars and i'm like i'm over here like a hundred dollars

00:49:27.360 like it runs away but it's bad for real the scurry is so real it's serious you do be scurrying

00:49:36.740 you just yeah scurrying and not counting yeah it's it's real bad it's real bad it's bad i was like if

00:49:44.900 god gave me the power to sing i'd be insufferable i think i'd be like god guys okay i'll sing

00:49:51.020 all right fine okay fine i'll sing i'm the most non-singinist singer i just don't i believe

00:49:57.620 sing ever do you like karaoke no no hate why i mean i'll go and there i'm sure somebody will find

00:50:04.060 video evidence and link it to this podcast so i proved it you do go to karaoke i've been dragged

00:50:10.020 to karaoke yes but how lame is that to go to karaoke with a real singer and like you guys are up there

00:50:15.380 drunk singing all off key having a blast and like a singer for a living gets up there and that's like 0.99

00:50:22.360 going and playing to at the arcade with the basketball games with somebody from the fucking 0.99

00:50:26.140 nba like that is so lame go play a shooting game like i should just ban myself to only like rapping 0.98

00:50:34.200 at the karaoke okay but you just do fun songs rap or you just sit there and try to count everybody

00:50:39.480 i've had people now i'm getting dragged 0.90

00:50:44.240 my best look at my kid for being vulnerable see this why i hide um damn i've had people make 0.92

00:50:53.320 requests for me like people are like yeah just sing that song sing the one song it ends up in like 0.98

00:50:58.600 fucking keech cole or some shit but if i had to choose i i do be picking the rap songs on purpose 0.89

00:51:04.920 because i typically don't know them and i just it's the only way i'm going to be able to make a 0.98

00:51:10.540 complete fool of myself because i i think it's actually hard as a singer naturally to sing bad

00:51:16.960 on purpose no it is it's hard it's because your voice talented not even like that but like being 0.94

00:51:25.500 all key is like it's like it like rattles your brain as a musician like like if somebody's playing

00:51:30.680 an instrument and the instrument is like out of tune yeah it like does something to me like it

00:51:35.160 like hurts my teeth i don't know how to explain it's like ah it's like one of those noises on a

00:51:39.500 chalkboard exactly so i don't know i'll probably just stick to i'll rap or something or like do

00:51:44.680 like a hard rock song oh nice you're like get my don't stop believing on yeah period oh yeah the 0.94

00:51:50.620 white people songs they go i will be in that bitch oh yeah journeying it up yeah yeah someone people 1.00

00:51:57.980 love karaoke and i can't sing i'm like one of the few someone they get to just live their inner 0.99

00:52:02.440 rock style yeah i think so many people though are get real competitive so like it has to be good which

00:52:07.240 is why i never sing at karaoke because i don't want to i don't want all of like all my family laughs 0.94

00:52:11.920 like me i don't want to hear that about me that's fucked up that's fucking mean so like i just remove 0.99

00:52:17.740 myself from the competition entirely okay well we talked about a whole bunch of things uh but i would 0.97

00:52:23.440 love to know like just as a as an end note uh what would be your best piece of advice for any

00:52:29.560 artists like singers like rappers whatever it may be who maybe are queer or lesbian or gay or whatever

00:52:36.940 it may be and they want to enter the space but maybe they feel like well now obviously there's a

00:52:41.440 new wave of representation and you're obviously at the forefront of it with many other people but

00:52:46.120 what would you say is your best piece of advice for them if they're like feeling are discouraged

00:52:49.400 or maybe a little down on maybe where do i fit in this industry i think if you feel safe uh

00:52:57.840 connecting with your community then just realize that the community is larger than you can imagine

00:53:03.580 like if you feel safe and want to have gay centered shows for gay people and create those spaces and that

00:53:10.100 be your crowd like don't feel like you're selling yourself short like you can have a full-blown super

00:53:16.140 incredible amazing career that doesn't feel compromising to your safety that doesn't feel

00:53:20.240 and it also isn't like a on purpose i'm doing this to like pand you can't pander to your own community

00:53:27.000 like i just i don't believe that like you can have a career that is built on you still feeling

00:53:33.060 fulfilled and feeling safe and doing what you want to do for who you want to do it for

00:53:36.720 and there's a lot more people out there waiting to discover you than you even realize

00:53:40.720 you know i think we've been like morphed to like think that the gay community is like this big and

00:53:48.540 like we just have our little pride parades and we just have our little like gay lists of the year

00:53:53.860 and like gay art favorite gay artists bible yeah that's just because like the the industry wasn't

00:53:59.620 built naturally evenly across all communities to have that so right now of course it looks uneven but

00:54:05.860 as far as the internet the streets the people like you can create your fan base don't hesitate to

00:54:11.160 promote yourself don't hesitate to put your story out there don't hesitate there's nothing corny about

00:54:16.100 like telling people how much you're proud of what you do and how much you love this thing that you've

00:54:20.600 made and that you've created and yeah i would say just don't hold back and like don't feel weird

00:54:25.500 about it and there are people waiting to receive you you know whether you can fathom that or not

00:54:29.780 because a lot of this shit is unfathomable most of what we do as an artist or creative in general

00:54:34.740 like we're not sitting here being able to to go like oh i know for a fact i'm gonna be impactful 0.97

00:54:39.600 in this country in this country in this country in this way to these people you cannot fathom that

00:54:44.100 so allow yourself to like walk with that excitement of like potential of like honestly anything could

00:54:51.180 happen for me any of these people could like me any of these people could be receptive and 1.00

00:54:55.060 yeah just just fuck with yourself for absolutely period look at that also kailani can't do math 1.00
