The Comment Section with Drew Afualo - WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD ｜ Drew Afualo ft. Emily Uribe ｜ THE COMMENT SECTION EP 10

00:00:00.000 someone dm'd me and told me you're going through the jennifer lawrence effect and i was like i

00:00:03.600 don't know what that means and i don't think i want what a rude thing to send you i was just

00:00:07.280 like well thanks like i don't know what to do you're like oh my god thank you i'm like so you

00:00:10.980 think you think i'm gonna be a star hey y'all it's drew and welcome back to the comment section

00:00:20.360 show to help me really get into my comment section i've brought on emily rebay as my guest today

00:00:26.160 and they're gonna help me tackle the haters and get into some of their own fan comments

00:00:31.120 emily welcome to the show hello everybody i'm so excited to be here i feel weird now being the

00:00:36.540 interviewee oh yeah yeah because now it's real like you're actually speaking to me it's not just a voice

00:00:41.020 in my head well that's perfect see now you're actually being interviewed i am now now i'm

00:00:44.920 and you're the you're the influencer yes doing it

00:00:47.840 for today's topic with the wonderful emily rebay we're talking about women in hollywood

00:00:57.300 and specifically the treatment of women in hollywood compared to how men are treated in

00:01:01.200 hollywood oh yeah so when i bring that up to you like what's your like first initial thought um

00:01:06.040 i think of just pay gaps pay disparities all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes things of women who 1.00

00:01:11.480 have been through terrible moments with directors like i think with like the me too movement with harvey

00:01:15.480 weinstein who knows how many women not just the women we see on camera but behind the scenes in

00:01:19.920 rooms had terrible experiences with so literally yeah i i think more of the terrible stuff than the

00:01:24.980 glitz and glam and also when you think about that too it's kind of crazy how it's more so focused on

00:01:30.620 like oh like i feel so sad that that happened and not that it was happening yeah it was like a well-known

00:01:36.760 thing that was underground for like 10 20 years yeah it's something that totally could have been

00:01:40.340 stopped or at least taken care of but instead these women were continuously taken advantage of and women 1.00

00:01:44.780 were passing along the advice to each other like they were like hey just so you know don't work with

00:01:48.880 him oh yeah it is we'd be looking out for each other and who's looking out for us no um it's like

00:01:54.060 a dog eat dog world in hollywood definitely and i think for women especially you have to really 0.88

00:01:57.920 watch your back um specifically with male people in the space it's really difficult it really is

00:02:01.820 and it sucks too that you have to feel that way especially when you're trying it's an art so like

00:02:05.700 you know you're trying to be creative express yourself any industry where you have to express yourself

00:02:10.260 whether it be clothes whether it be painting drawing graphic design there's so many obstacles

00:02:14.880 you have to face as a woman while men not only have it a bit easier but they don't have to face 0.95

00:02:19.940 struggle worrying about what they're wearing or if they're showing touch if they're revealing if

00:02:22.980 they're this or that their attitude like it's really hard yeah i always think too when i think

00:02:26.460 about like how women in hollywood are treated versus how men are oh yeah i always think about like

00:02:30.980 uh body shaming yes like how they they like made a whole industry of shaming women like what they look 0.99

00:02:37.820 like in a bikini or anything like that yeah yeah um dating back to like old holly like judy garland

00:02:41.740 yeah diet pills for having like a thicker waist like yeah keeping her under a certain weight keeping 1.00

00:02:47.260 women under a certain weight they weren't allowed into certain parties if they didn't look a certain 1.00

00:02:50.060 way so i think like a lot of studios are at fault for that yeah and also too like how women are like 1.00

00:02:55.660 oh like she looks like she gained weight oh what if she's pregnant that kind of thing but with men it's 1.00

00:02:59.960 like oh dad bod oh yeah it's so different yeah look at his dad bod it's so good look i love me a dad bod

00:03:06.960 that used to be a trend i remember online it was so big for men to have the dad bod but let a woman 1.00

00:03:12.460 let herself live a little and it's talked about for months and she like eats eats a snack on the 1.00

00:03:17.540 beach and like goes in the ocean and then they're like oh yeah someone's hiding a pregnancy oh no no

00:03:21.920 and that's funny because they don't even know what that looks like or if women choose to not drink in

00:03:25.600 a social setting yeah they're like oh she's pregnant no they just they can't drink maybe just like 0.90

00:03:30.220 anything yeah just feel like you're constantly being watched oh yeah under a certain eye always it's

00:03:34.740 really difficult i think for women to feel comfortable in those spaces specifically like

00:03:37.780 going to certain parties and then you're more worried about how you're looking and how your

00:03:41.560 face looks because you don't want to have an rbf yeah and say like oh my god what are they going

00:03:45.020 to say about me and on the carpet too because you and i have walked carpets we've walked a couple

00:03:48.400 carpets that's that's pretty daunting it's hard yeah sometimes yeah when men have the most to say

00:03:53.060 about women what they look like on the carpet oh yeah i always say to myself i say you do it 0.99

00:03:56.340 you go on that car you you paint that face down like tie your face back like the things that they do

00:04:02.600 to you when you go on a carpet it's very overwhelming and invasive and you almost feel

00:04:08.000 like damn like am i not doing enough because clearly like it's not working or like you have 0.66

00:04:12.040 to practice your posing yeah men just get away with standing there like this i know like yeah and 0.96

00:04:17.040 you know what's funny is that i just went to a premiere the other day and i i was walking next

00:04:20.960 to jason moe which by the way listen to me that's like me going on a talent show right after beyonce 0.98

00:04:26.580 why did you put me next to him oh yeah everyone's like who's this big idiot move lady who's this 1.00

00:04:32.220 bitch move i'm trying to see i'm trying to see aquaman oh yeah which is cool but that man 0.99

00:04:36.260 literally i was like stressing all day what i was gonna wear like how it's gonna look like how 0.96

00:04:39.780 it's gonna pose he was wearing he looked like he just came from sprouts he was wearing jeans and a

00:04:44.620 peasant top i said i expect nothing less he looks great but i wish i could dress like that oh yeah

00:04:49.100 it's so the standard is so different it's on the floor and then you have these women who have to come 1.00

00:04:53.000 in gowns or like a mini dress no literally it's so different i remember the first time i went on

00:04:56.900 carpet for eternals i knew i wasn't gonna get photographed but i stood in front of my mirror and i was like

00:05:00.180 like smiling practicing what i was gonna do if cameras were looking at me like no i did that too

00:05:04.420 yeah i did you practice your hands like everything very like you have to yeah and i was carrying a bag

00:05:09.400 just because i forgot to give it to someone and someone was like next time don't carry a purse

00:05:13.380 it ruins the fit i said oh is this how many carpets have you walked that's what i thought babe

00:05:18.180 and i said guess what i bought that bag so i'm carrying your heart earned money that's why and i think

00:05:22.760 about like like tiffany haddish and she's like i'm gonna wear this dress 0.53

00:05:26.100 until the wheels fall off because she spent so much money on it she's like i bought this

00:05:30.540 i'm gonna keep wearing it oh yeah that's how i felt about that purse also wearing outfits and not

00:05:35.300 wearing the same thing over and over again i can't tell you how many times i've i've thought about

00:05:38.420 it's crazy because i remember joaquin phoenix had a run where he wore the same stella mccartney suit to

00:05:43.200 every award show when he was nominated for joker and no one batted an eye people talked about how

00:05:47.600 sustainable it was but for a woman to do that we can see it as they're like you're so boring oh yeah 1.00

00:05:51.840 people are gonna be like didn't you already wear that yes i did for a reason i bought it you know

00:05:55.160 what's funny if i saw a dude wear the same suit i wouldn't know yeah because they wear it any well

00:05:59.180 it's a black suit that's why i said how you could have told me that was from ross or you could have

00:06:03.140 told me that was from a rental shop actually no literally i'm like that could have been from

00:06:07.320 kohl's like i don't know no yeah but but with women it's just so much more like nitpicky i feel like 1.00

00:06:13.100 which is in everything from what you wear to what you look like to how you act to what you act in the

00:06:18.820 slightest change in your face oh it's talked about for months it's so so hard yeah i literally posted

00:06:23.940 pictures um of me in full glam let me just set the scene for you i sat in hair and makeup for two and

00:06:29.460 a half hours i had a wig on my head i was i was beat down like my my face looked so good my makeup

00:06:35.220 artist took pictures of me i posted them did i look incredible yes let's all agree that let's all agree

00:06:39.920 that i looked phenomenal okay collectively it is what it is but when i posted them tell me why people

00:06:45.540 are making tiktok saying i got work done to my face oh no that's just a little contour and powder

00:06:48.880 you guys don't know shade and light you guys don't know shading and lighting do you and i i literally

00:06:52.440 was like i you see me on the toilet all the time you think i'm gonna look like that oh yeah on the

00:06:58.200 toilet you think i wake up with a full beat i'm not kylie jenner oh no yeah she wakes up with a full

00:07:03.140 beat oh absolutely in her her face in her sleep she's like she sleeps like this i'm like i'm looking at

00:07:07.380 you are y'all i know exactly she literally sleeps like this like perfectly poised you know perfect body 1.00

00:07:11.540 perfect hair everything wakes up full beat oh yeah her and stormy's perfectly dressed oh and she's

00:07:16.660 and i and i think you think that's me no yeah i'm a big jester on the internet you think that's me

00:07:21.400 that's of course that's not me that's why i said it's it's just funny because like men are so quick

00:07:25.840 to like judge and i always think too men don't know what makeup looks like oh no they don't or their

00:07:30.860 definition of natural is nothing what it is in real life absolutely and i was thinking too if you saw me

00:07:35.400 in real life if like one of those dudes had seen me in real life that day they would have thought i had no

00:07:39.060 makeup on absolutely they would have been like wow i feel so naturally you asked them what's a

00:07:43.060 what's a natural beauty look like to you they show you a picture of kim kardashian with like a full

00:07:47.000 bronze yeah with a full full bronzed out beat like she looks fantastic but you know she's wearing 20 1.00

00:07:52.640 pounds of makeup hello oh yeah that's either like oh it's work you have work done to your face no it's

00:07:57.300 just shading and lighting like you again makeup as an art form is something of its own that's what i'm

00:08:01.660 saying but it's interesting to see men then pick apart like how it looks or what they've done

00:08:05.240 differently it's just it's just nose powder yeah it's it's face tune in real life oh yeah is what

00:08:09.680 it is magic and they're just i think jealous that's what i think it is i agree with you so i can't wait

00:08:15.000 to dive into this with you emily uh but when you first think of women in hollywood i think of the 0.99

00:08:20.760 glitz and the glamour like obviously we all wanted to feel that growing up so here on the comment section

00:08:26.440 what we like to do is we like to bring videos that i want to laugh at and i bring them here and we

00:08:31.560 share all the giggles that's what we do we just laugh we love to giggle we have a silly goofy time

00:08:35.480 here on my show that's what we do so one of the most frustrating things that i hear being in the

00:08:40.400 entertainment industry is male writers saying that they don't know how to write female characters

00:08:47.420 because i'm always just like just write them the same way you write men you know what i mean but then 0.97

00:08:58.000 give them like a nice pair of jiggly titties that they can play with whenever they want and like 0.97

00:09:06.000 a monthly period that makes them emotionally unstable and hormonal and unable to make rational 0.98

00:09:11.500 decisions and and then make them hot but like not too hot so that they're out of your league and make

00:09:18.220 them smart but not in a way that's intimidating and make them funny but you know funny in that they

00:09:25.600 think you're really funny and there you have it cast me in your next film

00:09:31.100 honestly what are your first what are your initial thoughts after watching this she's so right because

00:09:37.360 i i'm a big blockbuster watcher i love going to the movies and seeing the latest like marvel movie or

00:09:41.860 star wars movie it's so interesting to see them try to write a badass female hero yeah not only has

00:09:48.140 like male attributes she has to be funny she has to be relatable she has to be this she has to be that

00:09:51.000 it's so difficult to watch her character try to succeed or men will just call you a mary sue

00:09:55.840 which is when you know how to do everything that was a big problem um not for me but for men 0.92

00:09:59.880 with daisy ridley and star wars is right people just called her mary sue she knew how to do this

00:10:03.220 she knew how to do that she already knew how to do that that's how they wrote her and that's what

00:10:06.520 they gave her but it's like a complete issue at that point yeah well it's also like this is like

00:10:11.600 probably a poor example because you brought up really great films but i consider this a cinematic

00:10:15.100 masterpiece twilight oh absolutely like cinema bella and twilight yeah everyone ripped 0.99

00:10:20.100 kristen stewart a new one they said she's a terrible actress i said that that bitch can 1.00

00:10:23.480 act her ass oh did you see spencer yes i did i watched it on delta on the delta plane i watched 0.99

00:10:29.380 it i watched the shit out of it and she was phenomenal absolutely and i thought to myself 1.00

00:10:33.320 she was playing the part that's how they wrote her yeah they wrote her as a stuttery weirdo like 0.90

00:10:38.560 that's how they wrote her also these women don't control what they're given so these screenwriters 1.00

00:10:42.460 give and i actually have a really good example of something in the industry that happens with

00:10:46.520 screenwriting it's like an inside screenwriting joke but to talk more about kristen stewart i

00:10:49.840 i feel really bad for her because a she was put in a spot where you can't change the writing you're

00:10:53.700 not gonna go up to the screen or say i don't like this especially the author of the books oh yeah

00:10:58.100 like stephanie meyer i'm sure didn't intend but yeah that's just how she was written it's out of

00:11:02.060 her control yeah and and you know what i call that great acting great acting because you bought it

00:11:06.580 you bought her as a weirdo you know how hard it is that's why sometimes some actresses i love when 1.00

00:11:12.300 actors hate each other because they're acting they're proving it to you that they like each other

00:11:15.960 she proved to you that she was this weirdo she stuttered she gave it her all that's why i said 1.00

00:11:20.120 she was like so off-putting weird and you're like why would any vampire like this bitch and then you 1.00

00:11:26.320 think so that's how she was written oh yeah it's the same thing with uh megan fox and transformers 0.98

00:11:31.160 same same thing with her and transformers i said she she's a wonderful actress she's really really

00:11:35.620 smart and she got written off for so long because of how she was written in those movies and i said

00:11:40.240 and she literally was like if i'm gonna do this i'm gonna make a bag off of it that's what she did

00:11:44.420 oh yeah and also men hate when someone is the titular hot character but then they're like oh 0.99

00:11:49.220 my god but she's so hot you have to have a happy medium with these guys because it's so hard there's 1.00

00:11:53.260 no winning there's no winning for the woman but god forbid we talk about robert pattinson like he's

00:11:57.680 god and he's a fantastic actor don't get me wrong but there's a big difference in conversation with

00:12:02.380 kristen and robert exactly from twilight they were like well you know that's just like the role he took

00:12:07.500 at the time and with her they were like she can't act oh yeah which speaking of you said transformers 0.96

00:12:11.620 this is a screenwriting story so shia labeouf submits to all these screenwriting awards yeah

00:12:16.800 and he places every time over people that aren't in the industry yet so isn't that's a screenwriting

00:12:21.820 it's an inside screenwriting junk where people will submit for these competitions but they might

00:12:26.220 not place because shia labeouf is placing and some of his work is probably really great but he places

00:12:30.780 every single time that's crazy i didn't know that yeah inside screenwriters guys you heard it here

00:12:36.800 first guys that's honestly i find that really unsettling especially for women especially if

00:12:42.840 you want to like let's say you wanted to do a transformers role like let's say you were like

00:12:46.580 okay yeah sure like i'll play a hot girl or speaking of the new transformers with mark walbert

00:12:50.600 nicola peltz was just his hot daughter it don't even get me started well i saw that when i said what

00:12:56.580 like it's just like she was it's almost like she's just there to be hot as opposed to like adding job

00:13:02.260 yeah she's so hot but i'm just saying adding anything to her character arc or like you know 0.98

00:13:08.480 like her intelligence or how she moves the story forward it's just like it's a lot of this oh yeah

00:13:13.540 very slow mo yeah or a lot of actresses get in like they get scrutinized for voguing their 0.99

00:13:19.180 performances where it's a lot of just like like a lot of people said gal gadot vogued for a lot of

00:13:24.400 wonder women where it was just like she would be worried about how she looked while she was like 1.00

00:13:27.120 posing or holding the sword yeah it's just that's or that's how she was written yeah that's how she was

00:13:31.540 written she's meant to look super hot and super cool but be empowering but then when she's doing 0.94

00:13:35.880 it it's wrong well you know what's crazy is that's all jason momoa did in aquaman oh and he looks so

00:13:39.900 good that's all that's all he did a lot of hair well do you remember what his first line was in that

00:13:44.120 movie i do what is it it was permission to come aboard okay listen listen to me i love him i think

00:13:50.700 he's awesome was that writing a1 no but is he just so good looking and everyone was like yes when they

00:13:57.220 saw they were like yes yes yes yes right but then you give that same energy to a hot girl and they're

00:14:03.880 like and the way they would make them say it too yeah they're like i could do that that like they 0.99

00:14:09.140 just give women jobs any and i said it's the same shit it's the same exact thing he's topless he's 0.99

00:14:13.980 good looking he turns his he flips the hair says permission to come aboard absolutely there you go 0.99

00:14:18.500 you know what i mean it's like give let's give the same energy to both of them and he sold tickets you

00:14:22.520 guys yeah that's what i'm saying and honestly they're both just there to make a check oh yeah

00:14:26.540 that's why it's like and you would do it for a check too yeah oh yeah i was gonna be in play of

00:14:31.000 the month that's it that's why i'm like what that lady was saying in her video as far as like how you

00:14:37.600 write women body image is taken into account first and then the woman comes second yeah so how they

00:14:43.520 look how they're going to be portrayed and then the writing comes in and then they're like and then

00:14:47.480 maybe maybe brain later oh yeah we'll get into that later that'll be on set like that'll be written

00:14:51.620 and then while she's acting yeah yeah think of how she's she's like well see maybe she could 0.99

00:14:54.900 have thoughts and they're like we'll talk about it we'll have we'll have we'll have a meeting with

00:14:59.820 the screenwriters you won't be there but we'll talk about it that's it and i think it's the same

00:15:03.260 thing too i saw i mean i'm not as plugged into the marvel scene on tiktok i try to be let me in

00:15:08.600 please i'm a disney adult let me let me in please i want to be a part of it i want to be on marvel

00:15:13.340 talk so bad oh my god you have to start i'd be banging on that door i'm like please let me in i know

00:15:17.620 i'm not as well versed but i want to be there so badly i saw all the discourse about wanda

00:15:21.820 yeah dr strange movie we'll take her some madness tickets right today and her like her like arc as 1.00

00:15:28.260 far as like how she's come through the marvel universe but like that line in the trailer that

00:15:32.440 everybody all the dudes were you do it and i become the enemy the the dudes were losing their

00:15:37.260 minds and they were like she enslaved to hold down and i was like okay all the heroes have done

00:15:42.740 something terrible yeah they're no one's a good person and in those movies everyone has done something

00:15:46.640 really terrible i just think the way she did it they just take it into account so heavily and i

00:15:50.960 know i feel so bad for her because she's just sad she wants her kids like i don't know what you guys

00:15:54.840 want her to do she wanted her children and i always think too at the end of the day she's not real at

00:15:59.920 the end of the day one of the apologists like we need to unite yeah we should rise up we need to rise

00:16:04.680 up rally the troops rise up that's what i was like i saw a lot of people talking i saw jay soups talk

00:16:11.080 about it a lot oh yeah i talked about it a lot but i literally saw them talking about how like

00:16:15.320 all that's kind of the whole point of the marvel universe all of them have bad in them yeah it's

00:16:19.560 like what they choose to do their standards are very again the comic book actual story to now the

00:16:25.440 mcu story that kevin feige has so brilliantly brought forward um i definitely think people

00:16:29.800 just want this to be like such a set in stone thing she's allowed to she's allowed to make mistakes you 0.99

00:16:34.240 guys like it's okay yeah but they're and it's also because she's a girl so they're like and she's

00:16:38.100 also arguably one of the most powerful heroes in the universe oh so they're not the marvel yeah so

00:16:43.300 they're like so upset about that now that's now that iron man's out the game they're like boo

00:16:48.080 i think it's also interesting how she was written again thinking of body image where she was given

00:16:53.000 the corset to push up the boot my short skirt emo wand if you know yeah literally my sister told me

00:16:58.660 that which i didn't know and i and i know that um elizabeth olsen yeah she said she felt uncomfortable 0.96

00:17:04.140 in the costume and now she's covered she has a costume that's still a corset it still suits her body 0.97

00:17:08.200 but now it's more comfortable for the actress and it's more accurate yeah i think to the to the 0.97

00:17:11.640 comics costuming from a male standpoint where male directors have a vision or you know the person

00:17:16.460 who's arranging all of that speaking of harley quinn margot robbie and her first suicides got a 1.00

00:17:20.320 costume it was uncomfortable yeah she felt really uncomfortable and it seemed you you can't tell on

00:17:24.020 screen because she's doing her job she's doing it super well but yeah that's it's really hard we

00:17:27.260 talked about that in my episode with britney like male female gaze so like we were talking about how 0.86

00:17:31.880 like the male gaze of harley quinn is the first suicides yeah the female gaze is the second oh and she's in 1.00

00:17:36.460 the red dress yeah yeah she's dressed much more not appropriately but for the to suit the actress 0.99

00:17:41.420 more yeah and and her character that's like the first one was all that was oh have you seen birds

00:17:46.120 of prey yes i love yeah and birds of prey too like i love the costuming i thought it was so quirky

00:17:51.100 harley she did such a good job uh i don't think we'll ever see another birds of prey i know i'm sad but i

00:17:57.160 i would like i liked that movie it was the soundtrack was great i thought it looked wonderful i thought it

00:18:02.400 was good it was entertaining i watched that on delta planes like and shout out delta's plane

00:18:07.800 selection delta's movie selection it's a one honestly so some of the comments on this video

00:18:12.600 like this first one says girls love humor what when they say i think it's funny that they're happy and

00:18:17.720 content i mean i think it's funny that that they're speaking about yeah about what women 0.99

00:18:23.060 find what women find i think it's funny that you think you know what women find funny when you've

00:18:26.780 never spoken to a woman in real life so it's pretty odd can i say the b word yeah oh get some 0.98

00:18:31.020 bitches like that's like that's all i can say like that's one of the best things you can respond 1.00

00:18:33.840 to like get some bitches before you say seriously that's what one of my guests called it pussy list 1.00

00:18:37.660 behavior yes oh my god starve for it bro no yeah it's crazy and some when you reply back to comments 1.00

00:18:44.480 like that and you use that language they're like oh my god like you how like what why would you say

00:18:48.340 that you could say it but i can't yeah are you kidding me they're like because it's screaming at me

00:18:54.200 oh you're just complete lack of getting laid i feel like cassie i'm just like i could say it to her

00:18:58.280 but she can't say it to me like really speaking of someone that dudes jerk it to and they're like

00:19:03.860 she's so she's so deep it's cassie from euphoria um okay this next comment says as a male to male

00:19:10.760 writing coach for those who write female-led movie scripts you have to just write about the stuff on

00:19:16.120 the cover of us weekly oh no what are you a hundred who reads us weekly you read that when you're in the

00:19:22.100 grocery store if it's available you're literally looking at it while you're about to grab a pack of

00:19:25.820 yeah or that that's where you see the worst headlines for women like pregnancy headlines 0.99

00:19:30.060 divorce yeah this woman treated this person really badly who cares the national inquirer 1.00

00:19:34.600 oh yeah who reads us weekly what are you a 90 year old mom or everything's online now so i would

00:19:40.520 assume you guys see these headlines online because i would say sorry i don't know okay this one says

00:19:45.460 i regularly think i could write a novel but couldn't write a male character because they apparently

00:19:50.000 have no thoughts oh wow i mean that's pretty funny yeah i think that was us sitting here that

00:19:55.200 was really good who said women aren't funny that that comment made me laugh oh yeah that's i i think 1.00

00:19:59.800 that you know sometimes it's just it always leads back to like male female gaze like how men see women 0.93

00:20:06.260 and perceive women is how they write women oh yeah so like if they understand women and how nuanced they

00:20:12.200 are then they'll be able to write them i think now there's gonna be a really big shift of female 1.00

00:20:17.060 directing versus male directing which i have you seen the mandal no book of boba fett no okay well

00:20:22.560 bryce dallas howard directed an incredible episode of book of boba fett i didn't know that it was so

00:20:27.380 fantastic but now female directors are needed more than ever and they seem to understand the source 1.00

00:20:32.100 material better than males sometimes it's just their delicateness they're able to really work around 0.98

00:20:36.820 the issues going on um and even for amazon amazon prime i think has 37 of the most female directors 0.98

00:20:42.420 hired so it like bringing the statistics in here i did my research she said anyways she has a white 1.00

00:20:48.060 bird doing the math oh yeah um it's just interesting to see female directors now enter the space in such 0.67

00:20:53.580 a male-dominated field and also we just had a female director win an oscar jane campion yeah for power of

00:20:57.880 the dog which is wonderful um but yeah they're more needed than ever well is it wasn't turning red

00:21:02.200 directed by women too i believe so yeah she yeah it was so that's why the great movie oh absolutely me

00:21:07.240 and spencer talked about that on our episode too we how much he we love turning red and it's such a

00:21:11.840 big fan it's so cool to see a a person of color direct a movie for children of color yeah we'll

00:21:17.620 have something to look forward to and share an experience with oh yeah especially the talk about

00:21:21.400 puberty and periods oh i related to that so i was just gonna say i said the men lost it they were like

00:21:27.300 this is why you can't have women in the workplace because you're gonna talk about things that all women 1.00

00:21:31.940 go through that's crazy oh yeah i think like you have a daughter you don't think she's gonna have

00:21:35.840 that oh yeah or i think they just aren't they don't see themselves as handling that issue like

00:21:39.840 even the birds and the bees talk with men and girls it's very different the women are expected to 0.98

00:21:44.160 handle that so yeah and especially the talk with puberty talk about periods it's very especially if

00:21:48.520 you're a person of color i think in the culture it's not very no the dads to take that no no no no

00:21:52.980 absolutely not well that's like you'll have that talk but you won't have talk about puberty or periods

00:21:57.920 i remember when i got my first one and my mom did not know what to do with me she's like go in the 1.00

00:22:01.980 bathroom go in the bathroom it was one of those things where she it wasn't brought up in her 0.81

00:22:05.580 household when it happened to her so when it came to me i'm her only daughter i know for a fact she

00:22:09.820 was freaking out she's like go in the bathroom go in the bathroom just go there and that was it and

00:22:13.400 yeah or i was never taught how to use a tampon if that's too tmi but i really never was i i the first

00:22:19.340 time i ever wore one was to a water park oh yeah i mean there you go yeah like i like it's not brought

00:22:24.780 up so to see kids now girls are gonna have a movie about that is great i love that well i told someone i

00:22:29.580 who was i telling i think it was my boyfriend i was telling him well you know like when you go in the

00:22:33.480 water like it stops like oh yeah and he goes what yeah he goes i go yeah he goes it just stops i go i

00:22:40.820 mean i don't know the exact science but yeah like that's why girls can swim on their period and stuff 0.99

00:22:45.100 i mean you still wear something oh yeah yeah he was so like it's like magic to them yeah it's really

00:22:50.060 it's really like i'm gonna need a few days to process that information he was just so like blown away by it

00:22:55.580 but that's why you don't have to worry about stuff like that when you have movies that have proper

00:22:59.720 representation oh absolutely and that's why there's no better person to direct a movie about

00:23:04.460 going through puberty and a period for a girl a young woman than a woman a woman and a woman of

00:23:09.500 color on top of that especially dealing with like you said the family dynamics of it all it's very

00:23:14.600 interesting i loved it i'm turning red you have my vote next year if you're nominated which you will

00:23:19.300 be i'm campaigning i am solo but i'm campaigning okay so now we're gonna play a little game a little

00:23:28.940 game and it's called the bechdel test yes so for those of you who don't know the bechdel test is

00:23:33.820 basically something we apply to any and all forms of media specifically movies and these are essentially

00:23:40.260 the rules of the bechdel test right that at least two women are featured that these women talk to each 1.00

00:23:45.760 other and that they have to discuss something other than a man a man so so honestly so emily

00:23:51.940 and i are gonna say a movie title i'm gonna say one to you obviously and then you can tell me if

00:23:57.000 you think it passes the bechdel test all right here's the first one harry potter and the deathly

00:24:02.300 hallows yeah i would say i would say that passes the bechdel honestly i only ever see harmione with the

00:24:09.900 two male leads so i won't lie i might see her with jenny is her name i'm not a harry potter i'm not

00:24:16.580 a potter head i you know what franchises are so interesting to me because i've never been a potter head

00:24:21.240 but i was such a big like everything else young adult oh sign me up i was at that theater yesterday

00:24:25.780 yeah um but yeah i was not a young uh young adult lover of harry potter i find that shocking

00:24:31.200 wait how old are you i'm 22 okay that's why because she's because you're a baby my mom loved it my mom

00:24:36.340 loved twilight she was such a big harry potter fan and it never passed to me but once marvel came

00:24:40.480 oh you said i was in there i was in there first one yeah and the answer is actually yes it does

00:24:45.840 pass the test it says the major scene that makes it pass the test when molly weasley yells at 0.87

00:24:50.860 bellatrix estrange to stay away from jenny i don't know if you saw the last one you saw you've seen

00:24:54.380 them all right the harry potter movies maybe i honestly don't remember i'm gonna be so honest with

00:26:02.420 potter how old are you i'm 22 and i i proudly will say but i love potter world at universal but at

00:26:08.180 least you're honest yeah yeah sometimes people be lying i can't lie about that i've seen them all i mean

00:26:12.600 my boyfriend has never really seen the movies he's seen a couple of them and i'm and i tell him all

00:26:17.020 the time actually when i was on vacation recently we were watching the fourth one together which

00:26:21.900 arguably is the best one and is that goblet of fire yeah everyone loves that one that's the best it's the

00:26:26.560 best one and honestly i'll die on that hill oh yeah but we were watching it together for the first

00:26:30.760 time and i like to make jokes when during movies some may say it's irritating i find it hilarious

00:26:35.220 it's entertainment you're adding to the dialogue and i never talk when they're talking my mom can't

00:26:40.280 stand it she's like you guys talk too much because my sister and i both do it oh yeah we just be making

00:26:44.100 jokes like literally the part i don't know you've seen the fourth one right yes i have okay so you

00:26:47.820 know how he goes to the graveyard and like every time he's near voldemort like his scar be hurting

00:26:51.660 oh yeah like it's just yeah yeah he's like like that i told i told billy like my my boyfriend 0.86

00:26:58.020 i was like i also see his pussies tingling and like that's funny oh yeah but he's like stop saying 0.92

00:27:03.800 that when you're trying to watch the movie i'm like i'm just saying like that's how it'd be tingling 0.96

00:27:08.480 when oh yeah around so i find that entertaining it's funny call me laugh funny you know i'm all that's

00:27:15.500 my job is humor i'm just kidding okay so the first one pass and obviously that's i honestly love the

00:27:22.460 harry potter and the deathly hallows that one's so awesome big fan i would like to be i just can't

00:27:26.540 get into it i want to i've tried you said you're at least you've tried yeah some people don't even

00:27:30.500 try and they're like i don't want to because they just don't want to like things that other people

00:27:33.480 like yeah which is makes you a big i promise it's not me trying to be different i just can't get

00:27:37.440 into it i can't yeah i'm not that person it's honestly really deep too like the storylines run so deep

00:27:43.620 it's so sad and dramatic it's very like my mom dragged me to see that that's so mean my mom

00:27:48.640 dragged me to see the last one in theaters and i remember i kept falling in and out of sleep again

00:27:52.720 i'm not a potter and i tried to be and she was sitting there sobbing in a room full of other 0.57

00:27:57.240 people and i was just like oh girl get over it and then years later iron man dies and i'm like oh my

00:28:02.380 god you're like in your mom's like get over it oh yeah she said i've been waiting for this she felt her

00:28:06.140 ear be hot she's like that's what you get okay this next one for the bechdel test is ratatouille

00:28:11.620 colette um i love her i wish i could have a french the only thing is like la vie en rouge

00:28:20.140 yeah literally um does she speak to other women i've seen this movie a million times i'm gonna say 0.99

00:28:26.020 it passes the bechdel test i think it does it's actually wrong oh no oh my god yeah it says the

00:28:31.320 only female character is celine leclerc who is seen in one scene in colette the sole female chef they

00:28:38.120 never interact oh yeah that's right so it's the critic well obviously you missed one lady and 1.00

00:28:43.400 it's the old lady in the very beginning oh damn that was shooting the rats oh yeah and i only know 0.96

00:28:47.800 that because poor rats and i said i only know that because that brain that movie is tattooed on the 0.98

00:28:52.540 inside of my brain it's it's running inside always like is that what lives in your head no truly it's

00:28:57.160 that it's that movie alone it's that movie and what's another movie the harry potter and the

00:29:01.460 i have so many jokes from that movie that i just make and people don't get and i'm like you don't 0.90

00:29:06.980 get it but that's okay damn mine is the minions they're running around in here jen i'm such a big 0.85

00:29:12.240 despicable me fan every time i go to universe like every time i drive into la and i see the minion 0.98

00:29:16.740 guarding the city i'm like oh my god like you're here like it's the first time oh every time i take

00:29:21.500 a photo of it i'm like yes uh but i love you just have a camera roll of only just i actually do

00:29:26.020 there's a video of him he caught on fire in the parking lot one oh have you seen that oh that was

00:29:30.320 his and they played music that it was so funny um but yeah every time i go i love the minions i

00:29:35.140 remember the first time i saw despicable me the very first one we took my little brother to go see

00:29:39.380 it in theaters i was laughing my ass off i said this movie is so funny oh yeah dude i i'm a big fan 0.59

00:29:46.420 honestly i love movies like that i think they're so funny they're so good okay last one is the avengers

00:29:51.800 2013 oh jesus christ if i get this wrong this is actually really sad it's bad for your brand so

00:29:57.280 don't get it wrong i know i might have to rebrand as a harry potter girl then you're like i'm starting 0.83

00:30:02.700 a new she speak to peggy carter's dead yeah it's black widow who else is a maria hill oh shit i want 1.00

00:30:10.560 to say no because they are but is it male love interest or is it like it's just they have to talk 0.91

00:30:16.120 about something other than men oh then no yeah that movie doesn't know absolutely you're right

00:30:21.480 it does not pass i'm gonna say that black widow and that tight little black suit they were not 0.89

00:30:24.620 speaking about anything other than the men she had to baby no literally it says the film includes

00:30:29.000 natasha pepper agent maria hill but these three women never hold a conversation with each other 1.00

00:30:34.260 during the film oh wow that's pretty wild if i really think about that that's that happens very

00:30:39.040 few times the only time we saw natasha and pepper interact was iron man 2 and forward and then we had

00:30:44.720 unless it was no she wasn't an iron man one and then like the end game movie where then she was

00:30:48.940 rescue and even in in iron man 2 is that the one where he meets her for the first yeah and she like

00:30:52.940 boxes john fabbro yeah yeah so in that one they only talk about tony yeah so even then it doesn't

00:30:58.360 i love a little natasha and tony they're one of my fave pairings like platonically don't take don't

00:31:03.500 start shipping but yeah i love them that's crazy and maria hill too she's nick fury's assistant

00:31:10.280 not what would you call her um i don't know i'm not gonna say sidekick number one

00:31:14.560 soldier soldier like she's there for him or even if you've seen spider-man far from home like she's

00:31:19.160 his right hand but then it turns out there's scrolls if you've never seen it so that's a

00:31:23.920 spoiler for you for everyone there i have a oh i i love to spoil things that's one thing i love to do

00:31:29.040 not for other people but i i went into endgame reading the spoiler article for i knew what

00:31:33.700 happened i didn't want to be really yeah i think it's a lot of people that takes away from the

00:31:37.640 emotion i don't care i'm gonna cry all the same i really i'm one of those people that like if i'm

00:31:43.260 watching a movie and i don't know where it's going i'll look it up i'll literally i'll wikipedia

00:31:48.200 search the plot i'll read the whole thing and i'll be like okay i can i yeah i'll finish oh yeah

00:31:52.960 and speaking of like now spoilers gossip in hollywood that is a male dominated field gossip

00:31:58.000 in hollywood i swear things get around the men more than they do the women i'm sure i'm absolutely 0.97

00:32:02.460 sure and honestly they be lying oh yeah i feel like women are just notoriously honest about shit 1.00

00:32:06.380 oh yeah especially in hollywood you have to be yeah well you have to prove yourself somehow 0.92

00:32:09.680 yeah honesty is the way to go apparently no seriously okay so for this next video that

00:32:15.620 we're going to show uh this one i'm just going to give you a little breakdown of it so basically

00:32:20.060 this user asked why is it that men in hollywood can be in as many movies as they want and be as

00:32:26.300 oversaturated in the media as they want nothing happens to their career but when women are in too 1.00

00:32:31.420 many movies for a year their careers can be ruined right yeah that's interesting yeah so they use

00:32:37.340 examples like jennifer lawrence she faced a ton and hathaway and yeah that's a good one right yeah

00:32:43.660 oh yeah and hathaway is on here as well literally whoopi goldberg who else taylor swift oh yeah i

00:32:49.360 have women now that i'm thinking of that i think are getting that same treatment which is florence 0.72

00:32:52.720 pew and anya taylor joy yeah i think they're being put in so many projects that people are now like

00:32:57.500 are you kidding me and they're so talented they're beautiful i love florence pew yelena now

00:33:03.440 anya taylor might be in a marvel project soon she actually was in in humans which is really cool

00:33:08.240 for x-men uh but i think the market is becoming like people are gonna feel sick of them as they

00:33:13.500 did jennifer lawrence they have their true fans but just so did jennifer lawrence yeah like like

00:33:17.720 have you seen i think her name's kiera kiera brow um i think that's how you pronounce her name on

00:33:22.740 tiktok um but she talks about she created this theory called the jennifer lawrence pipeline have you seen

00:33:27.900 that yeah yeah her theory about how like they get obsessed with these women they start making tons of 1.00

00:33:32.940 movies like they're in everything everywhere everyone's so obsessed with them and then it

00:33:37.140 gets to a point where people start getting sick of them so they start chewing them up and spitting

00:33:40.540 them oh yeah that happens so often and then they're just like this girl's trying too hard she's 0.88

00:33:44.740 everywhere she's trying too hard to be relatable like i'm sure jennifer lawrence i mean i'm sure

00:33:48.780 she's a cool girl like i'm sure she's super nice oh cool girl syndrome in hollywood too is a thing 1.00

00:33:53.200 yeah cool girl well that's where she goes through that and that's literally where they moved her

00:33:56.760 same thing with dakota johnson same thing like they moved her into the like now you're trying too

00:34:00.220 hard to be cool oh yeah almost like making her a pick me yeah and then she's not it's just what

00:34:04.340 you guys are you're boxing her in whereas before everyone was jerking it to her and then all of a 0.98

00:34:09.000 sudden they're like oh i can't stand this bitch anymore no it's the people that gave you the gave 1.00

00:34:14.400 you the platform and really like encouraged and supported you that are the ones that are going to 0.99

00:34:17.900 be the reason for a downfall like i think even on tiktok we see that with women in the entertainment 1.00

00:34:22.200 industry it's such a difficult thing to maneuver someone someone dm me and told me you're going

00:34:26.720 through the jennifer lawrence effect and i was like i don't know what that means and i don't

00:34:30.120 think i want what a rude thing to send you i was just like well thanks like i don't know what to

00:34:33.960 do you're like oh my god thank you i'm like so you think you think i'm gonna be a star no yeah it

00:34:39.040 like happens to female creators and like a ton of women in the industry that oversaturation well and i 1.00

00:34:44.020 think a different probably a key difference to that with between like creators and like stars is that

00:34:49.520 you are they're inaccessible to you so you never get to see them oh yeah because they're so you don't

00:34:54.700 know anything about yeah so they're so closed off to the to the like society so that they start to

00:35:00.440 formulate their own opinions about them they're like why bet you she's like this i bet you she's

00:35:03.480 like this whereas like you know influencers they you see their everyday lives you interact with them

00:35:08.820 you feel like this very close parasocial relationship yeah so you have people that will be like oh no

00:35:13.540 she's not like that like she's not like that in real life like you have people fight for you kind of

00:35:16.800 thing yeah whereas with celebrities ever it's just like mob mentality oh yeah like you're right i hate

00:35:21.120 her too you know i'm so glad you brought it up but they do that to influencers too but i feel like

00:35:24.560 it's easier to turn on a celebrity because they don't give you access yeah there's no accessibility

00:35:28.740 you don't know who they really are well and i think that all the time i'm like you see that we

00:35:32.940 talked about i talked about with britney too like we talked about timothy chalamet right and i think to

00:35:37.620 myself he could be annoying what if he's the worst person in the world we don't know that we have we

00:35:42.060 have no clue like like women are like oh my god like he's he's a man written by a woman is he is he

00:35:47.500 our most met no is he i said all i will say when i interviewed him what a sweetheart i have to i have to

00:35:53.300 say there you go what a sweetheart he was so nice he was so sweet um but obviously that wasn't the

00:35:57.940 real him i'm so excited to be here but his personality shines through there you go like

00:36:03.260 when women let their personalities shine through there's such a different reception almost i agree 1.00

00:36:06.960 yeah and then there's room for error oh yeah whereas like when they're very closed off very like private

00:36:11.640 which they have every right to be um sometimes i think people are just easy to turn the art of privacy

00:36:16.860 for men versus the art of privacy for women in hollywood and i think there's alexa demy does it 1.00

00:36:22.240 beautifully where she does not let you into anything we don't know anything about this woman 0.99

00:36:25.060 we don't even know her age she's just there to be an actress i star i know i've seen so many

00:36:29.320 theories and they're like oh she's like 23 and some people are like no she's 35 yeah whose guess i'm

00:36:34.140 like her age is none of our business no it truly isn't yeah i think that all the time too i'm like

00:36:38.580 it's we only see what they give us access to see it's the same thing with influencers like oh yeah even

00:36:43.020 if you feel like you're seeing their everyday life you're really not you're not at the end of the day

00:36:46.220 you really don't know them so don't put them on a pedestal one and also two don't don't be a weirdo

00:36:51.240 oh yeah or one of my favorite things this is like a side thing but one of my favorite things

00:36:54.800 influencers do is they'll say like my normal routine is like this but i'm actually going to

00:36:58.220 do something different today when we just want the normal routine so that's so interesting i do that

00:37:02.680 a lot yeah like sometimes people ask me all the time like oh i wish you a daily vlog girl you don't

00:37:06.980 want to see my it's boring oh yeah i just they just see this and yeah all the stuff we do yeah well

00:37:12.780 you say that now and then you watch me like eating cereal at 12 p.m because that's what time i woke up 0.99

00:37:19.240 oh yeah with no pants on you're like this content's ass like they're literally not gonna like it 0.95

00:37:23.980 it's boring i i feel like my life is so boring outside of work i feel you which i'm very grateful 0.97

00:37:29.620 for oh yeah i think we all need that yeah i think a sense of quote-unquote normalcy yeah absolutely

00:37:35.120 and so okay so the comments on this video like the first one actually the first one says the

00:37:40.040 answer is misogyny there you go yeah actually there you go here first honestly the last movie i saw

00:37:45.200 that was really funny i saw the lost city i love that movie i loved it it was wonderful exactly

00:37:50.020 what i expected some people are like i'm like i don't like this sandra bullock oh queen she looks

00:37:56.260 so incredible in that movie oh she's so funny this is so interesting that you bring her up in that movie

00:38:00.880 she i think is one of the only female dependable stars in hollywood left for a box office box office 1.00

00:38:08.200 is so important and some like i've heard people call actors and actresses box office poison where they're

00:38:12.480 not bringing in revenue they're not bringing in the money that they thought they would yeah

00:38:15.100 if not one of the only dependable movie stars left yeah like you just she always hits oh yeah 0.85

00:38:20.180 no matter what movie she's in like the difference between the women and the men in that argument is 1.00

00:38:23.620 the men aren't really ridiculed that much whereas a woman she didn't bring that much money and yeah 0.92

00:38:28.400 it's so interesting yeah that's so true and that's why like brad pitt in that movie so funny he's

00:38:35.100 hilarious unbelievably funny oh my god he's a really talented actor and just like very wonderful to like

00:38:41.040 you can tell he loves what he's doing yeah um i love seeing like serious actors like like ones that

00:38:46.840 oscar award winning emmy nominated like any meryl streep and don't look up yeah hysterical just like

00:38:52.360 in the most slapstick comedy movies like like brad pitt like it's like seeing a dog walk on its 0.94

00:38:57.480 hind legs to me i'm like it's so funny that you're in this like so dumb movie like dumb in the sense 0.74

00:39:02.640 that it's just funny for being funny it's not like it's not winning any awards but i think it should 0.97

00:39:07.880 oh yeah absolutely academy you know what the vmas and the mtv movie awards are gonna eat it up

00:39:12.680 that yeah that's where i get my true entertainment because that's where my movies that's where my

00:39:17.420 movies are recognized oh yeah or like those awards versus like the real awards i think like megan fox

00:39:22.660 said it best we talked about her earlier but she said i don't care to win a bafta i just want to be

00:39:26.800 a pop like there's pop actors and there's more serious actors and bridging those two when the actors

00:39:30.400 can do that is great yeah and she's and she's great that's why i think about uh actors like 0.75

00:39:35.280 channing tatum right oh yeah is what it is have you seen free guy no okay listen oh listen don't

00:39:41.900 hate me don't hate me i tried to watch it did you get to where he's in it i watched 30 minutes

00:39:47.020 and i i didn't laugh once and i said you know what we'll try again another day i promise my sister 0.97

00:39:52.320 literally told me she's like you're an idiot like watch the whole thing it's so funny i was like i i 0.97

00:39:55.820 didn't laugh once and i gave it a shot i literally was sitting there like 30 minutes 1.00

00:39:59.920 there was another hour and a half to go there was another you could have given it 30 more and

00:40:05.260 channing would have showed up and you would have been like yes he's so funny in it genuinely i

00:40:09.480 honestly think that channing tatum's in the same lane as like dwayne the rock johnson to me who i

00:40:15.180 absolutely adore love him oh yeah to death he's the best but it's like they know exactly what lane

00:40:20.180 they're in they're like i'm just a funny guy or in a way they play themselves in every exactly and we

00:40:24.880 love to see it exactly but is there women that can do that is there women we know that do that 1.00

00:40:29.840 for hollywood no i think like they have to transform every time yeah one of my wasn't the women that i 1.00

00:40:34.940 would say is like melissa mccarthy i think she's she's so good at improv she is so good at comedy 0.99

00:40:38.940 she can transform anything but like how we're talking about dwayne and ryan being just being

00:40:43.080 themselves not even being a character yeah like robert downey jr does the same thing for iron man

00:40:46.460 he's literally tony stark yeah uh we don't see we don't see talk of women doing that no it's true 1.00

00:40:50.440 melissa mccarthy love her i do really love her dude tammy i when i tell you like when i watched 0.93

00:40:55.380 tammy tammy got a lot of shit i was dying when i watched tammy oh yeah i my mom and i watched it 0.91

00:41:00.920 together i was laughing like i was like she was in right in front of me doing stand-up routine oh my 0.98

00:41:05.340 bad she was hysterical no she was so she was so funny like that literally i'm sorry we're talking

00:41:10.180 about like movies and whatever but there's the part in the movie where she's like talking about how

00:41:14.560 wonderful the deer is have you seen tammy you know where she's in her grandma they wake up in the woods

00:41:18.400 she's like oh my god like it's so beautiful her grandma oh my god so beautiful so beautiful and 0.96

00:41:22.900 then tammy's like yeah yeah she scares me she's like what the fuck are you talking about get out 1.00

00:41:26.940 of here no that made me laugh so hard i almost threw up oh yeah so i was like did academy award 0.96

00:41:31.560 that's why i said don't put me in the academy because i'm submitting tammy for the awards oh my

00:41:36.060 gosh like put this in there there's so many movies throughout the year and especially i think

00:41:39.860 like recognizing women in comedy in an academy sense is so difficult for the academy to do

00:41:44.360 yeah but recognizing like men in superhero movies is a more easier thing not to discredit them

00:41:48.660 because that's an incredibly hard thing to get into like i remember mad max fury road was nominated

00:41:52.840 and charlie's there and i thought deserved a nomination there's so many women who can do that 1.00

00:41:57.240 for the academy and it's just not allowed it's just like horror yeah horror is never recognized in

00:42:02.040 the academy like it should be just like i saw hereditary oh and tony collette deserves yeah she give

00:42:07.740 her her flowers for that movie honestly hereditary is one of the scariest movies i've ever seen like

00:42:12.520 like truly like i was up for hours after i had to watch i had to watch you don't even watch

00:42:17.520 something nice to like clear your brain oh yeah i put like a good cartoon on i'm like oh me too

00:42:21.120 i put on i put on like moana or something to like hard reset my brain because i'm like i don't

00:42:25.080 want to think about that when i go to sleep oh yeah i was up for days i literally could not

00:42:29.340 sleep that that movie was so like horrifying but yeah in a generally like wonderful movie way like

00:42:35.100 what a masterpiece and tony collette was so good in that movie tony collette i loved her

00:42:39.200 knives out she's a fantastic i loved knives out too that's a wonderful did you think he was the

00:42:44.080 villain i know i really didn't i didn't i love when i i love when i can't tell sometimes i figure

00:42:48.960 it out and i'm all damn but some that one really had me going i had no idea like when he like started

00:42:54.460 saying all that stuff to anna damer i was like whoa whoa whoa you really meant what you said and

00:42:57.840 you did it didn't you and she was so good in the movie too see give them their flowers give them 0.99

00:43:01.800 their flowers yeah and someone like someone's just like extra notes on here like things like the rock

00:43:07.780 right like we said ryan reynolds was the one i was thinking of yeah the one that's like in 0.74

00:43:11.300 everything he's in every movie serious have you seen the adam project i saw okay this is so dumb 0.81

00:43:16.280 but sometimes i'll tell people yeah i saw it because i watched trixie and katya watch it

00:43:19.940 so i'm like oh yeah for sure i know all about it oh i literally haven't seen the review then you're

00:43:24.740 like boom i saw it yeah i mean i got all the high points oh yeah i saw jay soups talk about how

00:43:30.560 much she didn't like that though the adam project yeah um i think males loved it i saw so many

00:43:34.820 male reviews loved it they ate it up yeah and then i saw like female rules and it wasn't the 1.00

00:43:39.340 same female reviewers versus male again there's so many things like the perspective is so much

00:43:44.240 different oh yeah and yeah see they brought up bradley cooper the rock like they never have to

00:43:48.440 like go away like take time off like jennifer lawrence like she was like you said in every

00:43:52.220 single movie killing it and then she had to like take a step on it for a while i think her anne

00:43:57.460 hathaway is another example i think also after these women all won their academy awards i want to 0.94

00:44:02.380 specifically talk about um lupita niongo who doesn't really get work right now which is insane

00:44:06.900 to me she might be very picky with her projects but yeah you just won an academy award yeah you're

00:44:11.240 a sought after actress and she's in black panther which is amazing yeah um but i want more work for 0.86

00:44:16.720 the women that clearly can do it yeah same with octavia spencer i want more work we're recognized for 1.00

00:44:21.540 it yeah but like men they win one they're like get that guy oh get him in a box office smash get him in

00:44:27.720 the next netflix hits oh yeah or any male actor that does anything marvel movie right now bring

00:44:32.800 it to a marvel movie right now i know like harry styles being in a marvel movie that's why now i

00:44:37.840 have a lot of opinions about that and they're all positive before anyone gets on me uh it's just

00:44:42.220 interesting to see i want to see the tapes i really want to see an audition tape did i said the same

00:44:47.320 thing when i saw him come in in the latin eternals i literally was like i'm so interested to see what

00:44:52.000 that audition process looked like because again it could also be a cloud thing but no one's ever going to

00:44:55.720 say that about men i don't think so but like if you did say it about women i'm just saying it 1.00

00:45:00.020 doesn't hurt oh yeah when you're when you're the topic of conversation when you're very very popular

00:45:03.940 oh yeah and also this is also another fun fact which i'm sure you're well aware of because you're

00:45:08.320 an influencer too bringing it when you have like an almost entirely female demographic people are 1.00

00:45:13.420 more likely to work with you because women buy things yes absolutely women show women are the 1.00

00:45:17.920 leave consumers yeah women move units you know what i'm saying like oh yeah they're a make or break so 1.00

00:45:23.660 that's what i'm saying his audience is 99 female so like i'm sure it didn't hurt that he's very

00:45:30.740 popular that didn't credit scene i remember i was in theater and everyone i was with and the premiere

00:45:34.280 was like oh my god no seriously same and i and i'm not and i'm not knocking him listen i'm a big

00:45:39.280 he's fantastic i'm a hairy girl did you like as it was have you heard the new song i loved it 0.64

00:45:43.660 it was so good he can't he can do no wrong in my eyes so don't come for me hairy hairy girls what 1.00

00:45:48.820 they called harry's harry's yeah girls my hairy girls that's why that's why i'm gonna call hair 1.00

00:45:55.480 balls yeah no seriously i'm like don't come for me i think he's gonna do wonderful i'm sure he's

00:46:00.600 very well he signed apparently a five movie deal we contracts in the marvel universe now they stopped

00:46:06.200 doing like these big 10-year contracts from my knowledge someone might correct me but yeah he

00:46:10.700 signed a long thing but so did salma hayek for eternals yeah that was talked about for one day

00:46:15.860 seriously and her character was murdered in the movie too she will i spoiler also campaigning for

00:46:22.480 her to come back you know what's so annoying i've been campaigning for black widow to come back i don't 1.00

00:46:26.640 know if it's i don't know if it's true i don't know anything about the comics i just be saying stuff

00:46:29.580 she will have a hand in production so i'm excited to see what they do um i'm like i don't know they

00:46:35.220 open the multiverse maybe there's another one oh she could totally show up that's what i'm saying

00:46:38.640 the multiverse of madness the cameos in that are crazy that's what i said who knows i just be saying

00:46:43.480 that my brother is such a big marvel nerd he always he always gets so like that's not she's

00:46:47.440 never coming back i'm just saying that's a lot i want to look over but that is a lie

00:46:51.080 i'm just saying i'm just saying we don't know the future oh yeah and i don't know anything

00:46:57.140 don't box is open yeah well yeah don't take my word for it i don't know anything but basically

00:47:01.700 just to wrap up what's your overall thoughts on like women in hollywood their treatment all that kind 1.00

00:47:07.080 of stuff like what do you think like where do you see it going i feel like it's moving in a much

00:47:11.380 more positive direction yeah i i talked about the rise of female directors for streaming services

00:47:15.500 i think we're going to see that rise for um filmmaking in general yeah it is moving in a

00:47:19.600 more positive direction i think it's moving in a more positive direction for a certain group there's

00:47:24.020 a lot of work to be done for people of color there's a lot of work to be done for black people

00:47:27.140 and that's the thing that like bothers me the most is there's still stereotypes there's still all of

00:47:31.680 this and while we're moving forward are we really yeah like for me being latina being mexican

00:47:35.960 american i want to see mexican stories i want to see a rom-com with a mexican actress who's not going 0.99

00:47:40.640 through a traumatic situation yeah who's not going back to mexico with an ugly filter over it

00:47:44.600 i i want to see that is that a bad thing seriously i want it to move like living enjoying life yeah

00:47:50.120 living enjoying life being in the moment i um there's so many rom-coms that could deal and work

00:47:55.000 with people of color but it's just getting them in those rooms same honestly well i and i talk about

00:47:59.400 this all the time but i'm someone so like my representation starts and stops with the rock so i'm

00:48:04.980 like brother i see you bro we out here together bro that's what i always think we out here together

00:48:11.380 bro it's just you and me that's why i've been telling him to hit me up also for people in the

00:48:15.060 space like bring more people and you have the power to push new talent forward yeah start doing it more

00:48:20.940 and more yeah and i call out like yeah genuinely like that's why i think it it's probably the same

00:48:25.420 thing for you too like being a person of color also where like people are like i i never got to see

00:48:30.300 people that look like me specifically in the influencer space too because i i never see any

00:48:35.820 famous someone girls i mean unless you count dinah jane but she's not someone she's tongan

00:48:40.500 yeah harmony oh yeah i remember her i do i loved harmony i was a fan so i know her so really that's

00:48:45.920 why i was like a like with the representation part i think that's so important especially in

00:48:50.980 mainstream stuff like seeing you on the oscars red carpet that's incredible that's why it's so

00:48:56.540 it's so important every time i talk about representation it makes me like 0.98

00:48:59.480 emotion yeah because i because i always think like kids like us like never had shit oh yeah 0.87

00:49:04.200 no like when i first saw black panther i was like moved to tears yeah because i was like can you 0.89

00:49:08.740 imagine all the kids seeing this shang chi yep shang chi or i think now also not bringing it from

00:49:13.900 this bringing it from the smaller screen to the bigger screen oscar isaac being a literal latino

00:49:18.360 actor being moon knight is huge that's a huge representation sama hayek being ajak that's huge mexican

00:49:22.740 arab like yeah it's important to let these little kids know that there's someone that looks like them

00:49:26.960 on there or i don't know if you saw the video of her talking about putting the suit on for the

00:49:30.000 first time and brian brian terry henry also talked about it where he just was brought to tears

00:49:34.140 oh that's so sweet it's so important because as a child you don't see that yeah especially

00:49:38.800 especially for women that's why i said for women even more so oh yeah that's why i said and and

00:49:43.360 also the rock if you want to hit me up buddy let me know drew's available actually like i'm here

00:49:48.780 i clear my sketch for you buddy i'll bring your big bald head i'll sit you right here
