The Culture War - Tim Pool - THE MOB IS BACK, FBI Busts MASSIVE Sports Betting Racket ft. Doug Polk

00:00:00.320 you know what's funny i have played poker my whole life and i started playing when i was like 16 17

00:00:04.960 here i am today i have never really played a home game for real money i mean i've played like you

00:00:11.520 know the boys are having some beers you know i've played in those but i've never played a game with

00:00:16.960 significant stakes because it's just too there's just too many things that can go wrong like people

00:00:21.200 could not pay you they can be taking a cut out of the pot they're not supposed to there could be

00:00:25.200 cheating there could be collusion they're these these games get robbed i have the story here from

00:00:30.640 the associated press heats rosier and trailblazers billups charged in sports betting and mafia-backed

00:00:38.880 poker schemes this was this morning this is breaking news and this is a wild wild case portland trailblazers

00:00:46.080 head coach chauncey billups and miami heat guard terry rosier were arrested thursday along with more

00:00:50.560 than 30 other people accused of participating in schemes involving illegal sports betting and rigged

00:00:57.120 poker games backed by the mafia rosier is accused of participating in an illegal sports betting scheme

00:01:02.400 using private insider nba information while billups is being charged in a separate indictment alleging a

00:01:07.920 wide range scheme to rig underground poker games that were backed by mafia families authorities said

00:01:14.320 both men face money laundering and wire fraud conspiracy charges and were expected to make initial

00:01:19.120 court appearances later thursday so my name is doug polk i'm one of the best poker players in the

00:01:23.520 world i most specifically specialized in one-on-one poker it's called heads up poker uh but i've also

00:01:29.280 won three world series of poker bracelets i have over 10 million dollars in cashes i started a well-known

00:01:34.080 trading site i own a poker room in texas called the lodge so uh pretty much everything poker related

00:01:39.680 based i love that well dude i want to know what was your initial reaction when you saw this story

00:01:44.000 break this morning obviously the fbi dropping this indictment huge poker i guess you would say like

00:01:49.520 scam you know some sort of racket i don't know what specifically you would call it but uh

00:01:54.320 yeah what was kind of your initial reaction to that indictment so gigantic story that broke today and i

00:01:59.040 think it's important that we look at this into two different sections right because there's actually

00:02:02.560 technically two different cases going on concurrently uh there's a sports betting case and then there's a

00:02:08.000 poker case uh so i'm you know i'm familiar with both i would say i have more insight into the poker

00:02:12.400 specifically being that's more my background but um i was look like i've heard about some of these

00:02:18.000 athlete games in the poker world for a long time there have been rumblings of cheating for quite

00:02:23.280 some time as well and then also a lot of this uh the sports betting side we heard even from the nba

00:02:28.080 earlier this year that there was a investigation where they looked into terry rosier and cleared him

00:02:32.320 of wrongdoing so we've seen swirling stuff about this for a while now but now we're just starting to

00:02:38.160 see it come to light yeah well i mean for when we can drill down on the sports betting real quick i

00:02:42.960 mean yeah we saw them saying they're investigating terrorists here but then you started seeing these

00:02:46.880 like low light compilations of him just like seemingly just chucking the ball away like

00:02:51.760 like it looked like ymca activities i don't really know what to say there um and that obviously i mean

00:02:57.040 i'm sure that was on the fbi's radar but that like started putting it on everyday people's radar

00:03:02.080 yeah i think uh look i mean they're athletes not actors and there's a reason uh i think you think you

00:03:06.880 could find a an easier way to to get some low stats than some errant pass to the middle of nowhere

00:03:12.160 right just right maybe you're a little bit slower maybe a little less accurate maybe you're a little

00:03:15.760 bit less uh you know coordinated but um you know i think the incident that really caused a lot of

00:03:22.800 investigation into rosier the first time as i understand it was he had a game where uh i think

00:03:27.360 he faked an early an early injury to kind of go down uh where he then doesn't have to play doesn't

00:03:32.480 have to throw bad passes doesn't have to do any of that stuff he just won't hit that stat line

00:03:36.240 if you're not familiar with player prop betting i'll break it down for you briefly so when you uh

00:03:40.320 any sporting event you can bet on not just the score of the game or who will win or the total

00:03:44.880 amount of points stuff like that uh you can also bet on how individual players will perform and so uh

00:03:51.200 if you are a player in the league or in any in a sports league you can pretty easily ensure you're

00:03:57.040 going to be doing poorly by just you know making bad passes going out getting out getting injured

00:04:01.040 whatever it might be so what would typically happen in these types of scenarios are players

00:04:06.240 would load up on bets against themselves and there's a few different reasons they might do

00:04:10.720 this they might have gambling debts to some bad people they need to kind of try and get get rid of

00:04:15.760 they might want to make more money themselves they might you know not think they're going to get

00:04:19.680 caught whatever it might be but they bet against themselves to perform well and then they go out

00:04:24.800 there and they you know knowingly lose or or miss their pass or shot or get injured so uh it seems

00:04:31.680 like rosier on the on the sports betting side rosier and possibly some other players as well uh were

00:04:36.720 betting against themselves uh and then you know there's this one rosier clip i think or article that

00:04:41.760 came out where essentially he bet two hundred thousand dollars against himself allegedly and there's

00:04:46.960 a video of them counting up the money afterwards like oh you know we get paid tens of thousands of

00:04:51.440 dollars but here's what's really stupid about that to me that season terry rosier made like 22 million

00:04:57.360 dollars right yeah okay so so what are you doing like you make like 80k you make 250k a game why would 0.90

00:05:04.800 you risk this yeah i was looking at his career earnings he's made 160 million dollars i mean i know

00:05:11.280 like nba players aren't really famous for their reputation with like financial things like kind of

00:05:16.800 pull dave ramsey pull his hair out over it or whatever's left of it uh yeah it's just bizarre

00:05:21.920 that he's like putting it all on the line and in a very obvious way for 200 grand i mean like what

00:05:28.480 are we doing here it makes you think that he might have gotten involved with the wrong people and

00:05:33.040 certainly given that now we have apparently mafia ties coming to play on this that uh i i guess maybe

00:05:38.880 we don't even have to say he maybe got involved with the wrong people i guess we'll we'll say that as

00:05:42.240 a disclaimer for now but um with a lot of these situations people they get in so deep and they

00:05:47.920 don't have a good way out and then they have this one road in front of them that they can do to save

00:05:52.800 themselves so we don't know if he has like you know obviously bad financial problems in general but he

00:05:57.920 also might have gambling issues outside of basketball he might have other criminal things

00:06:02.640 going on that we we aren't privy to or that we don't know about that might be reasons that you would

00:06:06.720 do this because yeah it seems insane right you've made nine figures in basketball terry rosier is a

00:06:12.800 good basketball player um uh you know why why would you do this it makes so little sense from the

00:06:18.480 outside that you almost there almost has to be something else going on there that we don't know

00:06:23.040 about yeah well they were they were saying that they would drive the cash to his house and then

00:06:28.320 obviously then that's where the counting occurred so it's like kind of obvious that there was

00:06:32.880 some level of involvement yeah probably with some pretty shady shady figures but i kind of

00:06:38.720 want to drill down the poker i mean the sports gambling it's not the first time a player has been

00:06:42.880 busted obviously for this sort of thing it's you know dramatic or whatever that's part of this big

00:06:47.920 indictment but i think what everyone is really drilling down on the fascinating part is the poker side

00:06:53.600 i mean i'm a poker novice like full disclosure um bizarre bizarre to me so maybe break down you

00:07:01.600 you mentioned like they call them like celebrity celebrity games yeah so let me just kind of

00:07:05.840 explain this for people at home so uh people will often play poker in a home game right or in a private

00:07:11.360 residence or somewhere where you're just with like either friends or a friend's friend or a small group

00:07:15.520 or basically when you're not playing at a card room or a casino it's called a private game or a home

00:07:20.480 game and certain home games certain private games they'll be played for very high stakes for lots of

00:07:27.520 money we're talking hundreds of thousands or even sometimes millions of dollars on the table

00:07:32.080 and what those games will do is they will try to make money in a variety of ways usually unethically

00:07:37.760 sometimes just a good game amongst friends that's what you want to look for but a lot of other times

00:07:41.600 it's not either they're taking a cut out of the game like for example what we saw a gilbert arenas

00:07:46.880 charged with just a few months ago for uh running potlum omaha games where he was taking a cut out of the

00:07:52.160 game uh again allegedly illegally to make money uh off the players in the game that's illegal uh but

00:07:58.400 then also they might be trying to make money in other ways like cheating within the game itself

00:08:03.360 which and we're going to see a lot more as this comes forward on the chauncey billups issue um it

00:08:08.000 appears what happened in these games was that chauncey billups and other defendants in this case

00:08:14.480 would have a well-known celebrity or well-known athlete come play in a game and then that would be sort

00:08:20.400 of the reason other players would want to come play right like chauncey billups is a very famous

00:08:24.080 great basketball player you might want to play with him um you might want to play with some of

00:08:27.600 the other people on his network and then when you get there you sit down at the table and you're being

00:08:33.200 cheated within that game itself so for example the most common way that this would happen and by the

00:08:38.640 way there's a great video by wired they put out two weeks ago amazing timing uh but basically one of

00:08:44.800 the most common ways to cheat is there's a shuffling machine if you're playing in a home game

00:08:49.760 you should be very worried when you see a shuffling machine because those machines only

00:08:55.040 are only rented by uh essentially casino establishments you have to be a licensed

00:08:59.280 gaming establishment to be able to rent them so if you go to someone's house and you see one

00:09:04.160 that means it's black market okay which should already kind of have some alarm bells ringing why

00:09:08.320 does this guy have this shuffler uh you have to go through these other ways to get that now what

00:09:13.440 you can do is there in a variety of different ways you can use that shuffling machine to cheat

00:09:18.320 now some of the shuffling machines have a camera inside them so they know all of the cards so

00:09:23.120 imagine you deal all the cards out but you already know what everyone has and then you can relay that

00:09:29.920 information to a player in the game either through bluetooth or through um if another player is relaying

00:09:34.800 it to you know signaling whatever it might be so that you know who will win the hand before the cards

00:09:39.840 are even dealt before the flop has even come now the player that's cheating can bet tons of money in

00:09:45.920 the hand knowing they will win so they don't have to worry about what cards are on the flop what

00:09:50.160 they're dealt any of that stuff they just know the money will come back to them and that's why this is

00:09:54.240 so damning because you might see a hand like this as a different player who's not cheating and it makes

00:09:59.360 no sense they're playing crazy they're betting all this money and they won but it looks like they're

00:10:03.760 a bad player but really they're cheating you and that's the most common way we see in these home games

00:10:08.720 uh people being cheated and that is allegedly what is going on here with chauncey billups right well they also

00:10:14.720 cited in the indictment like an x-ray some sort of x-ray maneuver mechanism that was being used is

00:10:22.320 that is that common i saw x-ray in there myself yeah and that's news to me and i've heard some stuff

00:10:28.720 in poker uh an x-ray machine i so the most common things you can do card marking is the most simple

00:10:35.200 one right like you put uh marks in the back of cards usually you'll mark the high cards so you'll know

00:10:39.920 know who has strong like an ace and then either you have like glasses that can see a certain ink

00:10:45.360 or or maybe it's even like a certain part part of the card whatever it might be that's a very common

00:10:49.280 one another very common one is two players will collude where uh they'll signal to each other when

00:10:55.280 someone had a good hand or someone has a relevant card and then that way the other guy can see them

00:10:59.840 and knows if they have a good hand or not um and then the other probably most common one is the shuffler

00:11:05.680 machine way of going about it where you know what cards are being dealt out to different people

00:11:10.400 already so you know who's going to win so i have never heard x-ray before certainly it's going to

00:11:15.840 be interesting to see what that is but yeah uh who knows i mean i really i have no idea maybe maybe

00:11:20.080 they meant rfid because they use rfid technology sometimes yeah right is that possible dude i'm i mean

00:11:27.920 it's such a wild it's such magnitude to the story i mean i was saying earlier with some of the you know

00:11:33.680 the family's society it kind of feels old school in a lot of ways i don't know it's like you know

00:11:39.040 there's some bad news coming out of new york but it's like all of a sudden new york's you know back

00:11:42.080 in some ways like whoa this is retro this is a throwback are you saying are you saying we're

00:11:45.440 making poker great again you know there's an argument yeah well i wanted to ask is how common

00:11:52.640 is this knowledge that there's a lot of these sort of gambits going on and the i mean are these

00:11:57.840 the the victims are they just kind of naive or did they know or like over the over the course of

00:12:03.040 the last year we've seen a ton of stories come to light i mean i've been covering cheating on my

00:12:06.720 channel on youtube uh doug poke poker uh i've been covering cheating for i can't even i can't even

00:12:12.080 tell you how many years it happens over and over again like cheating online i'll tell you i'll tell

00:12:15.680 you a quick story that happened to me yeah i actually got cheated online where someone came to my

00:12:20.320 house and they planted a device onto the computers so that they could see all of the cards you got

00:12:26.320 dealt and they cheated my roommates and i out of probably a hundred thousand dollars or more

00:12:31.040 um yeah it was crazy and then so i realized it because i was playing someone and they were they

00:12:36.160 played a hand and i won't go into hand history here on the show because it'll be too detailed and

00:12:40.080 whatever but they played a crazy hand and i sat there and i lost a bunch of money and i'm looking at

00:12:45.200 it and i'm like this makes no sense right like there's no reason there's no reason for him to do this but

00:12:50.560 it was right so if you're seeing something like that it's a pretty good indication like they're

00:12:55.840 there's something going on and i don't just mean like an unlucky card came like the way they played

00:13:01.040 their hand makes no sense so i reached out to the website at the time it was called poker stars

00:13:06.160 and they launched an investigation into the account that played versus me and after several months

00:13:10.320 they said doug we've only ever done this five times in the history of the website

00:13:15.520 we're giving you every dollar back because this guy was cheating you and i knew the guy had to be

00:13:20.400 because someone came into my house like the day before and i it all added up right so the guy's

00:13:25.360 name was joshua tyler you can read about online it was a crazy cheating thing anyway the point is

00:13:29.600 cheating happens so much in poker look it's a game for money right and whenever there's money whenever

00:13:33.600 there's real stakes you get to vote with where you play which is why you should plan play at places that

00:13:39.280 are going to respect your money and are going to try to do it the right way yeah i mean because that's

00:13:44.400 what i was seeing i was like a few different people in the poker world were saying like this has been a known

00:13:49.760 thing these specifically the celebrity games and that's what kind of amazed me was like i don't

00:13:54.480 know maybe just the news hasn't spread to the masses because i figure if you're an experienced

00:13:58.400 enough you know poker player to want to jump into an environment like that you would know there'd be

00:14:03.440 some signs to look out for game for real money i mean i've played like you know the boys are having

00:14:09.840 some beers you know i've played those but i've never played a game with significant stakes because it's

00:14:16.000 just too there's just too many things that can go wrong like people could not pay you they can be

00:14:19.520 taking a cut out of the pot they're not supposed to there could be cheating there could be collusion

00:14:24.240 these games get robbed like okay so new york is a great example of this new york does not have

00:14:29.120 legalized betting basically at all right which i mean it's crazy you can't just play a poker game in

00:14:34.160 new york city today so these underground games develop and there was a famous movie about this

00:14:38.560 called molly's game where she talked about kind of like all these underground games these games

00:14:43.440 they'll get raided by criminals they'll get raided by the feds or or the state or like like

00:14:49.520 the number of things that can go wrong for you in a home game and look like i get it it's convenient

00:14:53.920 it's nice it's fun to go to your buddies but there's a point where you're taking on so much risk and we've

00:14:59.520 had so many of these stories come forward over the last few years even on poker streams there was a very

00:15:04.320 famous uh uh player named mike possel who played on a show called stone's gambling hall this is like

00:15:11.280 a few years ago now and uh again allegedly over the course of two years he just beat everyone on

00:15:17.680 almost every show that he played and he won several hundred thousand dollars playing for a few hundred

00:15:22.320 bucks at a time and what he was doing again allegedly is he had a guy in the back who could send him the

00:15:28.080 cards and he would just look at his crotch like this the whole time yeah and they were sending him 0.79

00:15:32.720 the cards so he always knew what everyone had this guy looked like a genius because he always knew the

00:15:38.320 cards yeah like like this is not this is not an isolated issue issue in poker and i hate to say

00:15:43.600 this poker is a beautiful game i love poker i'll defend poker to the bitter end but there are so many

00:15:48.720 ways to cheat that you have to make sure you're playing at a place at a location at a venue at a website

00:15:54.160 whatever it is that respects the integrity of the game and wants to protect you because if they don't

00:15:59.920 you're going to have problems yeah well because that's what i'm wondering is how how how far along

00:16:05.760 does this go before the victims are they saying the fish i see that used a lot i don't know maybe

00:16:10.880 is that like a common common yeah like how do they pick up that they're even being scammed so actually

00:16:17.840 let me talk about this for a second because i saw in the report right they called them fish right

00:16:21.040 fish are bad players okay and they call them face cards are famous players right okay um they're

00:16:28.720 like so fish is a universal poker term if you say fish any poker table everyone will know what you

00:16:35.440 mean it's just a bad player right right and then a whale is a really bad player which i guess because

00:16:40.480 it's bigger than a fish i don't know they're all in the sea right yeah and then the shark is a good

00:16:45.040 player so you have the whole ecosystem out there it's beautiful beautiful but you know what i've never

00:16:50.080 once heard face card i've been in poker for i'm 36 years old i've been in poker for almost 20 years

00:16:57.600 i have not even one time heard the term face card and apparently oh yeah face card is like a fame so

00:17:04.720 i'm not saying that they're necessarily lying or or falsified i don't know right i'm just telling you 0.71

00:17:10.320 if you say face card to a poker table they're gonna think you're just a lunatic it sounds like you're

00:17:14.160 talking about like the king of spades or something it makes no sense i've never heard that before

00:17:18.320 yeah okay because that's what's interesting because there's so many terms being thrown around

00:17:21.600 and i'm like how much of it is common lingo and how much is it just like the fbi kind of

00:17:24.720 like trying to flex a little bit yeah so and it's a mixture of both which is why it's good you know

00:17:29.760 it's weird whenever you see the government weigh in on something and it's not your it's not your um

00:17:34.400 like what you know right you almost look at like okay i assume all these things are like what you're 0.95

00:17:39.600 supposed to say right and then when it's on what you know you're like what the fuck like another 0.95

00:17:44.080 another good example is like poker movies right the number of poker scenes where they play a hand 0.99

00:17:50.320 and you're just like shaking your head i can't believe this shit like there's a james bond scene 0.98

00:17:54.000 where it's like straight flush and quads and a full house and like they all have like monsters 0.99

00:17:59.440 but then like somehow they only have like 10 blinds and like it'll drive you nuts once you actually know

00:18:06.320 a space when you see other people weigh in on it but face cards i i don't think that's a thing

00:18:11.440 okay that's good see i'm i don't know i know not to say face card or they'll think i'm in the fbi or

00:18:16.960 something yeah that's a good point um so i want to drill i mean i guess this is kind of re-litigating

00:18:22.640 what we're kind of speculating with why would someone like terry rozier get involved but i don't

00:18:26.400 know maybe the dynamic is different with these celebrity games why would someone like chauncey

00:18:29.600 billups get involved he's a hall of famer multi-millionaire he's making good money coaching

00:18:33.280 like what would be in it for someone like him well it's a good question i i again like you never know

00:18:38.640 what how people end up in these places right um a lot of times they have other things other issues

00:18:45.040 in their lives going on you don't know about and as it pertains specifically to poker shaking

00:18:49.440 cheating what i imagine happens somewhat often is let's just say before chauncey billups cheated in

00:18:54.720 poker allegedly you gotta say allegedly it's true you have to anyway so before maybe he played poker and

00:19:03.280 he liked poker and i'm just gonna go out on a limb and assume that chauncey billups probably not that

00:19:08.480 good at poker right like most most pro athletes are not extremely good poker players because they

00:19:14.480 made their money elsewhere you know they're not actors they're not poker players they're athletes

00:19:19.520 so um i think what might have happened is chauncey billups plays poker games he starts losing in these

00:19:25.040 games and then he realizes hey i know how i could win money in this right we cheat the game right

00:19:31.120 and we cheat the game i can win my money back or i can win more money or i can whatever it might be

00:19:36.480 and uh so i don't know i mean i don't know i guess it's hard to say like specifically how do they end

00:19:40.800 up there why would you do it i mean it's always difficult to ask criminals why would you do your

00:19:45.440 crime you know they're gonna and sometimes maybe they have a good excuse but usually it's greed

00:19:50.080 yeah i mean financial crimes it almost always comes back to greed i mean that that makes sense i mean yeah

00:19:55.760 i i guess from the poker world perspective i mean you mentioned that these games uh they're they're

00:20:02.960 somewhat prevalent i think at least you know i mean obviously they're in the underworld is there kind of

00:20:07.840 a sigh of relief from the from the uh poker world seeing this happen like okay finally this is like a

00:20:13.360 you know high profile crackdown so specifically for chauncey billups there was a podcast from a few

00:20:20.400 years ago where some players talked about this like a smaller poker podcast where they talked about this

00:20:25.440 exact thing where people knew about him cheating and on that podcast i was listening to it early

00:20:30.160 today to just kind of like go down memory lane yeah and like yeah the thing is you know what can

00:20:34.480 you really say you can't go up against you know this guy's a huge name in in basketball what what

00:20:38.960 chance do you have can you really take this guy down and it's nice to see like yeah i mean if you

00:20:44.880 commit crimes and you are stealing from people like don't get like we need to make sure this is really

00:20:49.440 clear when you rig a poker game you are stealing money right someone's money you are stealing it

00:20:56.080 it's no different than robbing them at the bank it's no different than like transferring yourself

00:21:00.400 money off their account it's no different than breaking into their house and taking out of their

00:21:03.200 safe you are stealing someone's money and there should be punishment for that right because you're

00:21:09.440 breaking the law you are hurting people so it's good to see that like regardless of what someone's

00:21:14.640 standing is that you know that the fbi will will go after you unless you're jeffrey epstein's friend

00:21:19.360 other than that they're going after you yeah no matter no matter what who it is yeah totally no

00:21:25.600 it's true unfortunately it's true um so on the sports gambling side obviously a lot of people

00:21:32.480 are using this opportunity to sort of re-litigate the sports gambling legalization that occurred a few

00:21:38.880 years back i mean what do you make of i mean what do you i guess what do you make of all this because i

00:21:43.920 mean you know obviously a lot of people are saying i told you so they're kind of you know crossing

00:21:48.000 their arms and saying like oh well if we tried to warn you um what's sort of the reaction from

00:21:52.800 the kind of broader gambling world to this yeah so it's interesting because when you look at sports

00:21:59.280 betting and how close and how ingrained into into sports it's become you can kind of see the issue

00:22:05.600 right where it's like okay we have all these very strict anti-gambling things on players and coaches

00:22:10.880 but we're promoting gambling so pervasively into the sport itself like where do we draw the line

00:22:16.720 and i i'll also admit like and this is coming from someone that is a gambler and promotes poker sites

00:22:21.840 and does you know gambling content when i see something as like an nba game or nfl game and they're

00:22:28.880 like and the current line is minus three and a half it's like you know when i grew up i was a big sports

00:22:34.560 fan i watched every sport i knew all the players i i remember i loved it loved sports as a kid loved

00:22:40.080 sports as an adult and i kind of feel like i still sort of feel like that shouldn't be like such an

00:22:46.080 ingrained environment for gambling promotion when it's so um it's just i don't know it's like it's

00:22:52.240 like a it's like a part of america it's like part of the country it's like so like it's part of our

00:22:56.960 fabric at the same time i recognize that companies should have a right to promote and these these

00:23:03.600 private entities have a right to decide who they let promote so i don't want to go down go on my

00:23:07.600 high horse here one way or the other right but what i will say is this i feel like regardless of

00:23:13.920 whether you want to ban this or not from sports like allowing the promotion of gambling it's gonna

00:23:18.160 happen and i and i think like i would kind of relate it a little bit to like prohibition right where

00:23:22.720 we banned alcohol in the country and then no one drank no that's not what happened right people

00:23:27.760 kept drinking so so like people are going to do shady unethical things and i don't think like that

00:23:32.640 should be the the whether we we allow it or not i think it should be based on like you know whether

00:23:37.760 it makes sense to promote this or not but i don't think that has any impact on will players and coaches

00:23:43.920 and refs like donahy if you're a few years back well these guys cheat or use this um you know use

00:23:51.200 this type of activity to like further themselves i i don't think it has anything to do with the fact

00:23:55.600 that fan duel now presents the halftime show sure yeah i mean that makes well i mean because like

00:24:00.480 you're talking about with the kind of in your face sort of promotion there was a clip that was going

00:24:05.280 around um i don't remember which account had the clip but it was espn and they were breaking the news

00:24:10.560 and they were like hashing it out trying to figure out what happened i love this and in the bottom right

00:24:13.920 the chyron said espn bet and then i guess just some pa got like screamed at because it just like

00:24:18.240 flipped off yeah i thought yeah it's a that's an amazing clip i love that it's like all of a sudden

00:24:23.520 the bottom bar just goes blank yeah it's like gray and today's cheating today's gambling cheating

00:24:29.680 segment is brought to you by espn bet it's like no no we're not doing that yeah yeah some pa just

00:24:34.720 got chewed out over that so poor guy but you can only imagine the interesting thing with the sports

00:24:40.320 gambling um i guess discourse was a lot of people were saying like okay sure people have the liberty to do

00:24:47.200 that so you know it's a bet like it's been happening for a long time but a lot of people

00:24:50.720 were raising concerns over the integrity of the sport maintaining intact because guys like terry

00:24:55.200 rozier can't even help like they can't they make it obvious they can't even help themselves but 1.00

00:24:59.440 participate and it impacts the actual sport itself right like the integrity of the sport um and i find

00:25:06.800 that a much more sort of compelling argument than like you know it's just bad behavior i mean you you can

00:25:12.720 obviously legislate morality to a degree but like with something like sports gambling it's like i think

00:25:17.040 the integrity sort of argument is much more compelling but i mean i don't know if you had

00:25:23.600 any sort of like thoughts on that specifically well we already have we already have it right i mean this

00:25:28.800 is illegal what they did so i mean in my opinion this is just the system working correctly yeah like we

00:25:34.080 had people that were in this underground informational ring that was defrauding you know casinos or other

00:25:39.520 players or whatever it might be and then they got caught and now they are going to face charges allegedly

00:25:47.040 or allegedly you know what i'm saying sure um uh they're going to face i've done one too many

00:25:51.680 youtube videos on this kind of stuff and i'm just like no you gotta you start the legal threats start

00:25:56.080 coming in you're like you know what man i'm just gonna say allegedly a million times and just know

00:26:00.160 i'm good um but yeah so so like i think this is the system performing how it should i think i think

00:26:06.560 we already have done that and i think that this is just like what you get when you have that yeah what

00:26:11.600 do you make of i mean the indictment obviously started cited three of the five crime families

00:26:17.280 in new york what do you make of their involvement is that something that was like kind of people are

00:26:23.120 aware of that or is this like super shocking because i mean i hadn't heard these names in

00:26:26.560 years you really only hear them in the movies i mean it's nice to see the resurgence of the italian

00:26:31.280 mob look the sopranos was the peak it's gone downhill from there it's true we always knew one day we'd be

00:26:36.320 back and just when they thought i was out they pulled me back in baby it's true it's true well 0.94
