02:53:51.820pocketed from one. Romantic suicide is a substance. Album so far, more big paydays on the horizon,
02:53:57.600but LA prosecutors allege that those millions were part of the reason that David allegedly
02:54:03.960committed murder. Because according to the prosecution's theory, David was in an illegal
02:54:09.620sexual relationship with a teen girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The two reportedly met online,
02:57:20.620Her body was found in September of last year, months after her apparent death.
02:57:24.960This is after the Tesla was towed and workers reported a horrific smell coming from the front trunk.
02:57:31.180And just days after Celeste was reportedly killed, David released his debut studio album, Wither.
02:57:38.160Now as investigators began digging into what happened to Celeste, David became a focal point.
02:57:43.880And he hired renowned criminal defense attorney Blair Burke to represent him.
02:57:48.180This was well before his arrest in April of 2026.
02:57:51.180Burke has represented clients such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Harvey Weinstein, the late Ozzy Osbourne.

02:57:59.240And when he was arrested, Burke and her co-counsel, Marilyn Benarski and Regina Peter, put out this statement.

03:07:50.3002024? How much money was paid? In 2024, $186,809 was paid. Now, does it often occur that in between
03:07:58.480releasing, whether you're talking about an album, whether you're talking about an EP or individual
03:08:03.020songs that the income level goes up or down along with other factors like merchandising,
03:08:07.880publishing, things of that nature? It can. In between releasing when the case where advances
03:08:12.320are paid and then the earnings are recouped against those advances. Can you explain that?
03:08:16.700So in the case where the company's advancing money to be recouped against earnings,
03:08:20.700there might be an initial payment and his earnings. This is what they did with John
03:08:23.860Wayne Gacy, guys. If you remember, he made a bunch of paintings and he didn't make any money
03:08:28.400off of it because the family sued. So that's what Dave is trying to do here. They don't want him to
03:08:33.880make any money based off the murder. Does that make sense? Last thing they want to do is reward

03:08:46.720not be additional payments until either another advance is made or the earnings exceed that

03:09:09.640album, $1.5 million was paid. And that was for exactly what? The agreement provides for 50% of
03:09:15.600the recording fund to be paid as an advance. So the recording fund for album two was deemed to be
03:09:20.900$3 million. So 50% of that was paid. And that's paid upon commencement of what exactly? It's
03:09:27.180they're typically paid upon commencement of recording for that additional album. I can't
03:09:30.980speak to specifically if that was the thing that caused these payments to be made. So it's paid
03:09:36.260upon commencement per the recording agreement, right? It's paid upon commencement of beginning

03:09:45.580well, eventually delivered his second album, which sold well, what is the value of this exclusive

03:10:00.320there was a minimum of three million, a maximum of six, assuming all of the options are exercised
03:10:06.120under the contract. What is this contract valued at? The minimum that the contract affords for

03:10:17.240minimum for album two, the $3 million minimum for album three, and the $3 million minimum for album

03:10:28.680about the merchandising or under Skull Rose or the publishing agreement or the deals with Sony,

03:10:37.880prosecution is using money as an alleged motive in this murder. Look how much he had to lose.
03:10:42.280Look how much he had to gain. If it came out that David was sleeping with an underage girl,
03:10:48.160a minor, those potential millions would disappear. That's the argument. And as the legal bills
03:10:53.940mounted, it appears David's family was doing what it could to free up some cash. TMZ reports
03:11:00.620that David's father, DeWood, sold one of the family's Texas homes. The Houston property sold
