00:00:00.000 Welcome to the podcast. Today, a special guest on the Glenn Beck program. It's Glenn Beck.
00:00:04.820 Thank you very much. Thank you. I thought I would do my own podcast here just for a little while.
00:00:10.800 Today's podcast is great. I have been out of the country for a couple of weeks and
00:00:15.400 I have a few things that I really want to talk about. That is Epstein,
00:00:20.340 that's gun control, your gun rights, and so much more. Great podcast. You don't want to miss it.
00:00:30.000 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:00:41.380 In an average year in the U.S., there are 31,000 homicides, suicides, or accidental shootings,
00:00:50.880 resulting in around 15,000 deaths per year. However, private citizens use firearms for
00:00:58.220 self-defense between 800,000 and 2.5 million times a year. The wide range is because so much
00:01:06.180 defensive gun use goes unreported to the police. But if you look at those stats, that means firearms
00:01:12.540 are 80 times more likely to be used to protect and defend life versus taking life. By the way,
00:01:19.420 that comes from the CDC. Of the defensive gun uses by private citizens in the U.S., between 80,000 and
00:01:28.440 200,000 of those involve women using a firearm to defend herself from sexual assault. That's just
00:01:36.200 from the oh-so-conservative Journal of Criminal Law. The FBI crime data set says the ATF estimates
00:01:45.800 there are currently 290 million firearms in private ownership in the U.S. That's excluding
00:01:53.440 any kind of collector or replica firearms. That is up from 210 million guns in 1995. So that's a 29%
00:02:04.020 increase in 24 years. Yet over that same time span, violent crime in the U.S. has fallen by 50%,
00:02:13.660 and violent assaults involving a firearm have fallen by 55%. Again, just from the FBI.
00:02:21.720 The United States boasts the highest firearm ownership rate per capita. 89 firearms owned for
00:02:28.860 every 100 citizens. The next closest country is Yemen. That has about half the gun rate per capita.
00:02:37.960 The U.S. has firearm ownership rate that is 12 times that of the U.K., 40 times that of China. Yet despite
00:02:46.860 such a huge firearm ownership rate, the U.S. is not in the top 10 of homicide rates. Nor are we in the top
00:02:55.580 20. Nor are we in the top 30. Nor are we in Casey's top 40. If you measure the total number of
00:03:04.560 international homicides per 100,000 citizens, the United States comes in at 103. That's about in the
00:03:13.860 middle. By the way, that is from the oh-so-conservative U.N. homicide stats. Using U.N. data, researchers
00:03:25.140 are confirming now at Harvard that in Western democracies, there is a negative correlation
00:03:33.300 between firearm ownership rates and gun homicide rates. Meaning, John Lydot has been right this
00:03:40.400 whole time. More guns does equal less crime. Despite having some of the most restrictive firearm
00:03:48.300 laws among Western democracy, the United Kingdom has a violent crime rate that is more than four
00:03:55.040 times that of the U.S. The U.K. population suffers 2,034 violent crimes for every 100,000 citizens.
00:04:04.700 If, in the U.S., we endure 466 per 100,000, why is it such a problem here? Why should we be more
00:04:16.220 like England? In fact, almost every country in the U.E.U. has a much higher rate of violent crime
00:04:23.740 per capita compared to the U.S. These are things that we like to call facts. During mass shooting
00:04:31.960 events in the U.S., the average number of deaths when police end the mass shooting is 14.3.
00:04:39.140 The average number of dead when a private citizen with a gun ends the mass shooting is 2.3.
00:04:48.620 And by the way, I'm not one of those that believes that 2.3 equals a mass shooting.
00:04:58.720 But if you are, let's take those stats. If you're waiting for the police to arrive to stop a mass
00:05:05.400 shooter, six times more people will die. Police officers from federal to local levels
00:05:12.100 kill an average of 606 criminals per year. Private citizens using firearms in self-defense
00:05:19.720 kill 1,527. I'm not going to wait around for the police to protect me.
00:05:28.960 There is a false narrative going on. And now even the Republicans are starting to fall into
00:05:38.780 this trap. They're afraid. They're afraid. Why are they afraid? Because they don't know
00:05:45.640 the stats. Oh my gosh, you know what this is? This is white nationalism. That's what this is.
00:05:53.220 This is white nationalism. Really? Is that what this is? Right now, people are claiming that there
00:06:01.800 were 250 mass shootings in America. 250 in the last 12 months? Really? Well, yes. If you agree that mass
00:06:14.980 shootings mean two or more people injured or killed, well, that would mean that duel that
00:06:25.620 Hamilton and Burr had was a mass shooting. That was called a duel.
00:06:35.460 If you look at the real numbers, mass shootings, these are coming from people now that say that
00:06:44.020 two or more victims have to be injured, including the assailant, but let's just take that number
00:06:51.560 because that's the number you get 250 from. Well, the reality is that 75% of those mass shootings
00:06:59.960 are black or Hispanic males. And 99% of mass shootings involve handguns because the vast,
00:07:08.500 vast majority of mass shootings by two or more, that definition would end up being gang or drug
00:07:16.040 related violence. So banning assault weapons or anything of the type would have zero material
00:07:22.260 impact to lives saved or lost due to mass shootings of two or more. When you actually look at mass shootings
00:07:31.960 and you call them what they really are, it's not two, maybe it's four, maybe it's six, I don't know, but it's
00:07:40.840 definitely not two. You go from a number of 250 to six mass shootings. Now that is still six too many, but that
00:07:53.240 number is at least reasonable. Six mass shootings. That is horrible. But let's use that number now six,
00:08:03.160 because surely we can prove that it was white supremacy that did it until you realize that even
00:08:11.000 when you look at the numbers this way, it's now half we're white. So you either have 75% of the 250
00:08:22.560 killings being black or Hispanic, or you have half of them being black or Hispanic. Either way, it doesn't
00:08:32.420 seem like a white supremacist problem. And either way, banning ARs don't work, wouldn't solve it. So
00:08:41.420 what would? So I'm going to say something that is not heard, I guess, in America. Not nobody wants to
00:08:52.960 talk about this. But the shootings in America are not the problem. Any shootings that we have
00:09:02.360 in America, those are symptoms. Because here's the truth. We're sick. We are a really sick culture
00:09:11.960 right now. We are sick as a people. We're sick as a nation. Culturally, we're sick as individuals. Many
00:09:20.020 of us are sick. Suicides are way up. Why? Because of the razor blades? Or because people are sick?
00:09:30.660 The drug epidemic is the same. Is that just because China is doing the opioid war against us now? Is
00:09:43.280 that the reason? Or is it that we're sick? Is it that we could fix the opioid? We could fix suicides by
00:09:52.120 tougher laws. Does that even make sense? Something in us has changed. Something within us, our neighbors,
00:10:03.120 our families, our towns. What is the disease that is eating us? Because it's killing not just the
00:10:12.960 innocent or just the guilty. It's killing both. It's killing all of us. Politicians, media,
00:10:20.000 and frankly, most Americans don't say a word weekend after weekend of the latest 25 dead in Chicago. They
00:10:27.720 don't say a word about it. Why? Because we know the shootings there are a symptom. Just like the
00:10:38.040 shootings in the rest of America are a symptom. The shootings in Chicago are a symptom of hopelessness
00:10:44.760 and fatherlessness. Education or lack thereof of broken families. That is what is causing the
00:10:52.480 shooting in Chicago. It's not the gun. Quite frankly, you take away the guns and the African
00:11:00.560 American community will be as helpless to protect themselves as they were when the Democratic clan
00:11:06.480 came riding into town with their horses and their robes and their torches and took the guns away
00:11:12.360 from the African Americans for their own safety and protection. Well, maybe it's our children.
00:11:21.080 Maybe the children are the problem. You'd never give scissors to children and have them run around
00:11:27.940 with them. Yeah, well, we're not children. But perhaps that is one of the infections that we
00:11:34.860 refuse to diagnose. We more and more every day ask the government, corporations, public institutions,
00:11:42.200 to treat us like children, not just children. In fact, we ask our children to act like adults.
00:11:49.100 Hey, kids, you're four. Let's go to the library and meet a drag queen who's going to tell you how to
00:11:54.700 twerk. What the hell is that? Hey, you're 14. You can make the decision on your own about a child.
00:12:02.480 You want an abortion? You have a right to it. But once it comes to paying for your health care,
00:12:08.300 no, you've got to be 24, 26, 30, 30, 40, you're not really responsible for anything.
00:12:15.120 It gives us an excuse to have everything we want, do whatever we want, and never have to pay for our
00:12:22.200 own sins. But I'm not a child and I don't wish to be treated like one. Our children, they're treated as
00:12:35.140 helpless babies. And that is an infection in and of itself, causing so many of our children to become
00:12:42.720 ill. They don't want to be treated as morons, babies, or endless, never-ending children.
00:12:50.280 15-year-olds have changed the world. But that's only when they're expected to.
00:12:56.160 They rise to the occasion. And just as the occasion is calling our children the loudest,
00:13:05.380 we medicate them. We tell them to conform to an increasingly meaningless and senseless set of
00:13:14.160 doctrines. We fail to actually educate them in any real and meaningful manner.
00:13:19.540 We don't teach them how to think. We teach them what to think. We baby our children. We lower the
00:13:27.780 bar. We expect less when they are crying out for more and more. And then what do we do? We offer
00:13:36.620 them a hopeless and worse yet meaningless worldview and future. Then a third of us adults claim we expect
00:13:45.240 too much from them. Another third of us adults say, well, it's not our kid. And finally, maybe a third.
00:13:55.260 Take a look at our failing marriages, our growing debt, a life that is without purpose.
00:14:06.680 And say, maybe that might be a problem.
00:14:09.160 Meanwhile, most of Americans claim our children are just lazy.
00:14:15.080 They don't want to work.
00:14:17.240 While having whatever they want.
00:14:19.540 All the while they continue to pile up the unprecedented debt on their shoulders,
00:14:24.160 making them effective slaves to a future so we could have whatever we want right now.
00:14:30.300 But let's not talk about that problem.
00:14:35.200 Because the problem certainly,
00:14:36.840 certainly is not our children.
00:14:39.660 Or what we're teaching.
00:14:41.240 Or what we're expecting.
00:14:42.760 Or what we're not expecting.
00:14:44.640 It's got to be race.
00:14:47.340 Race has got to be the problem, right?
00:14:51.560 No, race
00:14:52.440 and our relations
00:14:53.960 is yet another symptom.
00:14:56.840 It's a symptom of
00:14:58.200 moral corruption.
00:15:00.300 And it's moral corruption
00:15:02.000 in those who want us
00:15:03.500 and need us
00:15:04.580 to fear each other.
00:15:06.480 There was a song in South Pacific
00:15:08.420 a long, long time ago.
00:15:11.960 And it had the line,
00:15:13.140 you have to be carefully taught
00:15:14.760 to hate.
00:15:16.760 You have to be carefully taught.
00:15:18.900 I don't know of a time,
00:15:20.720 at least in my lifetime,
00:15:21.960 where we have had so many teachers
00:15:24.780 willing,
00:15:26.320 dying
00:15:26.740 to teach us
00:15:27.780 to hate each other.
00:15:30.300 and yet we treat
00:15:32.180 this symptom
00:15:33.020 to mask the pain.
00:15:35.700 We seek
00:15:36.420 any easy answer.
00:15:39.060 Oh, we've got
00:15:39.920 white supremacy going on.
00:15:41.400 Ban the guns.
00:15:43.080 Yeah, that's what we have to do.
00:15:44.800 You know what?
00:15:45.460 Let me tell you something.
00:15:46.280 I have high blood pressure.
00:15:48.820 My doctor
00:15:49.600 prescribes medicine.
00:15:50.800 I have to take it
00:15:51.600 every day.
00:15:52.160 Now, I don't ask him
00:15:55.200 what the cause is,
00:15:56.260 and he knows what the cause is,
00:15:57.540 and I do too.
00:15:59.560 Cause is really easy.
00:16:00.700 I'm fat.
00:16:02.020 I eat too much.
00:16:03.300 I'm fat.
00:16:04.940 But I don't want to treat that.
00:16:06.360 I like cake and ice cream.
00:16:08.420 I'll just take a pill
00:16:09.420 so I can have the cake
00:16:11.120 and ice cream too.
00:16:13.220 Well, if this is America,
00:16:14.440 why can't I take a pill?
00:16:15.820 Don't talk to me
00:16:16.580 about being fat.
00:16:17.580 As my waistline increases,
00:16:20.940 so does my need
00:16:21.780 for a higher dosage,
00:16:23.100 and my delusion grows,
00:16:25.100 and that's what's killing me.
00:16:27.400 And it's allowed
00:16:28.380 to fester longer and longer,
00:16:30.420 and there are millions
00:16:31.240 of these miracle pills
00:16:32.760 or solution.
00:16:34.260 And in every case,
00:16:35.700 it only makes things worse.
00:16:37.960 Don't have the right credit score
00:16:40.140 to buy a house?
00:16:40.780 Don't worry.
00:16:41.440 No credit checks.
00:16:42.560 We won't even ask
00:16:43.300 for proof of ID
00:16:44.060 or even a job.
00:16:45.560 And we all allow this con
00:16:47.280 to work.
00:16:48.900 And when it comes undone,
00:16:50.000 we blame somebody else.
00:16:51.500 The bank was greedy
00:16:52.380 and wanted your money.
00:16:53.500 The politician wanted
00:16:54.460 to be seen as helping you
00:16:55.860 live your dream house
00:16:56.820 all the way down the line.
00:16:58.000 And best of all,
00:17:00.180 I'm really just a big kid.
00:17:01.420 I'm not really responsible.
00:17:02.800 They are.
00:17:03.440 So the lie gets bigger and bigger,
00:17:05.760 and so does the infection.
00:17:08.920 If I have a heart attack,
00:17:10.160 it'd be easy for my family
00:17:11.280 to blame the doctor.
00:17:12.240 But you know,
00:17:13.140 I know what the cause
00:17:14.580 of my heart attack is.
00:17:15.720 Me and my unwillingness
00:17:17.440 to live in reality.
00:17:20.600 That exercise is needed.
00:17:23.300 And that we're blessed,
00:17:25.280 blessed to live at a time
00:17:26.600 where food is so plentiful.
00:17:28.360 So now we have to do something
00:17:29.780 that goes against human nature.
00:17:32.100 Don't eat food
00:17:33.540 when it's available
00:17:34.940 because it's available
00:17:36.480 now in an hour from now,
00:17:38.880 tomorrow, next week,
00:17:40.000 and God willing
00:17:40.960 for the rest of our lives.
00:17:42.320 It's time we face
00:17:44.720 self-evident truths.
00:17:50.200 The best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:17:58.320 Hey, it's Glenn.
00:17:59.860 And if you like what you hear
00:18:00.640 on the program,
00:18:01.400 you should check out
00:18:02.160 Pat Gray Unleashed.
00:18:04.000 His podcast is available
00:18:05.240 wherever you download
00:18:06.360 your favorite podcast.
00:18:07.460 Well, I was interested
00:18:09.280 to see
00:18:10.620 that
00:18:11.840 the Republicans
00:18:14.760 have not changed.
00:18:17.300 You know,
00:18:18.220 when I went to Australia,
00:18:20.180 and I'll be posting
00:18:21.060 this critical scientific
00:18:22.760 information later,
00:18:24.460 my son and I,
00:18:25.840 we took a video
00:18:27.080 of the water
00:18:28.880 draining
00:18:29.560 into the drain,
00:18:31.980 and we didn't use
00:18:33.720 the toilet
00:18:34.120 because, you know,
00:18:34.700 the toilet
00:18:35.140 can actually force
00:18:36.140 water one way
00:18:37.020 or the other,
00:18:37.560 so that's not
00:18:38.260 real scientific.
00:18:39.420 You've got to put it
00:18:40.020 in a drain,
00:18:40.880 in a still sink,
00:18:41.820 and does it go
00:18:42.740 the other way around?
00:18:44.240 I don't know
00:18:45.240 because neither of us
00:18:46.380 could remember
00:18:46.860 which way it went
00:18:47.800 when, you know,
00:18:48.480 we were on this side
00:18:49.280 of the planet,
00:18:49.800 so we have no idea,
00:18:51.600 but there are
00:18:53.400 some things
00:18:54.260 that are true,
00:18:55.380 and Republicans
00:18:57.300 selling out
00:18:59.060 every principle
00:19:00.120 that is enshrined
00:19:01.440 in the Constitution
00:19:02.400 and the Bill of Rights,
00:19:03.640 that never changes.
00:19:05.880 They'll do it
00:19:06.740 every time.
00:19:08.080 Congratulations,
00:19:09.180 Republican Party,
00:19:10.540 for when you really
00:19:11.840 need to take a stand,
00:19:13.480 when you can use
00:19:15.060 facts,
00:19:17.000 don't use facts.
00:19:19.180 Don't do it.
00:19:19.920 Run for cover.
00:19:20.760 Run for those
00:19:21.380 popularity points.
00:19:23.160 Screw
00:19:23.640 God-given rights.
00:19:25.860 This red flag idea,
00:19:27.420 oh,
00:19:27.880 this is
00:19:28.420 brilliant.
00:19:29.260 By the way,
00:19:29.680 I don't know
00:19:30.060 if you know this,
00:19:31.000 but there isn't
00:19:31.560 a single thing
00:19:32.340 you have to have
00:19:33.100 checked in your
00:19:33.800 background if you
00:19:34.600 go buy a gun.
00:19:35.720 You could be
00:19:36.440 a two-year-old
00:19:37.340 child and buy
00:19:38.500 a fully automatic
00:19:40.240 .50 caliber weapon
00:19:42.140 today.
00:19:43.340 No background checks
00:19:44.360 are needed.
00:19:45.860 Unless that's
00:19:47.000 exactly untrue.
00:19:49.620 Unless that's
00:19:50.180 exactly the opposite
00:19:51.520 of what actually
00:19:52.560 happens in America.
00:19:54.120 But don't let that
00:19:55.040 bother you if you're
00:19:55.820 a Republican.
00:19:56.640 No, no, no.
00:19:57.120 Take the bait.
00:19:58.160 Go with the
00:19:58.780 red flag laws.
00:19:59.740 So, you know,
00:20:02.980 if you voted
00:20:03.440 for the Republicans,
00:20:05.220 this is the
00:20:05.920 beginning of the
00:20:06.720 end of the
00:20:07.780 Second Amendment.
00:20:08.680 The red flag laws
00:20:10.240 are the worst
00:20:11.300 thing that could
00:20:12.560 happen.
00:20:13.600 First, it's
00:20:14.500 family members
00:20:15.720 who say someone
00:20:16.560 needs to take
00:20:17.280 their guns away
00:20:18.060 without due
00:20:18.680 process.
00:20:20.100 Well, isn't
00:20:20.580 due process
00:20:21.320 the thing that,
00:20:22.460 you know,
00:20:22.700 we were all
00:20:23.200 around,
00:20:23.880 we're all about?
00:20:24.880 Isn't that,
00:20:25.380 isn't due process
00:20:26.540 the thing that
00:20:28.160 separates us
00:20:29.340 from those
00:20:30.300 countries that
00:20:31.080 just kick down
00:20:31.920 doors in the
00:20:33.160 middle of the
00:20:33.780 night?
00:20:36.520 So, legal
00:20:38.000 gun owners
00:20:38.820 can have
00:20:40.920 somebody say,
00:20:41.700 you know,
00:20:42.180 let me tell you
00:20:42.880 something.
00:20:44.240 Let's say you
00:20:44.860 have family
00:20:45.740 members in,
00:20:46.600 oh, I don't
00:20:47.180 know, Portland.
00:20:49.900 Are you even
00:20:50.900 talking to your
00:20:52.000 neighbors in
00:20:52.720 Portland?
00:20:53.420 Are your family
00:20:54.400 members in
00:20:54.960 Portland, are
00:20:55.400 they even
00:20:55.740 talking to
00:20:56.420 you now?
00:20:57.100 They have
00:20:57.800 Trump derangement
00:20:58.780 syndrome so
00:20:59.580 deeply, they
00:21:01.900 hate the fact
00:21:02.780 that you even
00:21:03.380 own guns in
00:21:04.620 the first
00:21:05.100 place.
00:21:07.820 They hate the
00:21:08.780 fact that you
00:21:09.260 have them.
00:21:10.160 They hate the
00:21:10.700 fact that you
00:21:11.240 don't think
00:21:11.860 like them.
00:21:13.420 You are one
00:21:14.320 immigration argument
00:21:15.520 away from them
00:21:16.360 calling the feds
00:21:17.320 and saying you
00:21:17.940 shouldn't be
00:21:18.400 allowed to own
00:21:19.040 guns and should
00:21:20.020 have them taken
00:21:20.700 away.
00:21:22.580 That's how,
00:21:23.400 that's what we're
00:21:24.280 really talking
00:21:25.060 about.
00:21:28.420 And if they're
00:21:29.100 keeping lists of
00:21:29.900 who they think
00:21:30.400 are dangerous,
00:21:31.340 and you have a
00:21:33.040 justice Democrat
00:21:34.040 in the White
00:21:34.800 House, guess who's
00:21:35.980 going to be on
00:21:36.580 that list?
00:21:37.480 Oh, I don't
00:21:37.900 know.
00:21:38.800 All of us.
00:21:41.260 Oh, and the
00:21:41.740 best part is,
00:21:42.760 once you have
00:21:43.560 some cat lady,
00:21:44.660 you know,
00:21:45.360 shirt tail
00:21:45.880 relative who
00:21:46.660 drops a dime
00:21:47.440 because they
00:21:48.620 hate that you
00:21:49.500 support Donald
00:21:50.240 Trump, guess
00:21:51.420 who's never
00:21:51.820 going to be able
00:21:52.260 to buy a gun
00:21:52.860 again.
00:21:54.700 Question six
00:21:55.800 on the new
00:21:56.240 background check
00:21:57.040 asks if there's
00:21:57.820 ever been a
00:21:58.720 determination by
00:21:59.480 a court,
00:22:00.080 board,
00:22:00.500 commission,
00:22:01.020 or other
00:22:01.700 lawful authority
00:22:03.120 say that you
00:22:04.360 shouldn't have a
00:22:04.920 gun.
00:22:06.840 You'll have to
00:22:07.620 check that for
00:22:08.120 the rest of
00:22:08.540 your life
00:22:09.080 because of
00:22:10.480 the cat lady,
00:22:11.760 because someone
00:22:13.740 didn't like the
00:22:14.480 way you voted,
00:22:15.620 because someone
00:22:16.600 who you're now
00:22:17.500 divorced from,
00:22:18.680 somebody in
00:22:19.320 the other
00:22:20.300 family that
00:22:21.480 really is pissed
00:22:22.420 off at you,
00:22:24.020 somebody who
00:22:25.100 just doesn't
00:22:25.580 like the fact
00:22:26.080 that you went
00:22:26.660 off on
00:22:27.120 immigration at
00:22:27.940 Thanksgiving
00:22:28.400 dinner,
00:22:28.980 can now call
00:22:30.440 and you will
00:22:31.740 never be able
00:22:32.700 to have a
00:22:33.520 gun again.
00:22:35.280 Thank you,
00:22:36.100 GOP.
00:22:38.000 If you
00:22:38.840 support the
00:22:40.620 red flag laws
00:22:41.880 and you're a
00:22:43.680 member of the
00:22:44.280 GOP,
00:22:45.160 I can't think
00:22:46.160 of a bigger
00:22:46.580 betrayal of
00:22:47.600 the U.S.
00:22:48.360 Constitution.
00:22:48.920 It will
00:22:51.820 literally allow
00:22:52.680 the same
00:22:53.260 people who
00:22:54.400 kick us off
00:22:55.300 of Facebook
00:22:55.860 and Twitter
00:22:56.460 for our
00:22:56.960 beliefs,
00:22:57.660 allow them
00:22:58.700 to confiscate
00:22:59.560 your guns.
00:23:01.460 That's what
00:23:02.400 the GOP
00:23:03.580 is considering.
00:23:06.560 The
00:23:07.260 president,
00:23:08.300 if he
00:23:09.980 endorses
00:23:10.720 this,
00:23:11.860 will lose
00:23:12.840 the election
00:23:13.500 and not
00:23:14.200 because people
00:23:14.920 are not going
00:23:15.660 to vote for
00:23:16.240 him,
00:23:16.440 but because
00:23:17.820 people who
00:23:19.160 actually believe
00:23:20.440 in the
00:23:20.740 Constitution
00:23:21.240 will say,
00:23:22.720 I mean,
00:23:23.840 I don't know,
00:23:24.480 I guess I'll
00:23:25.040 vote for him
00:23:25.700 because who
00:23:26.620 am I going
00:23:27.060 to vote for?
00:23:27.700 I'm going to
00:23:27.960 vote for that
00:23:28.640 person?
00:23:29.240 They're crazy.
00:23:30.820 But the
00:23:31.560 passion will
00:23:32.320 not be there.
00:23:33.560 And once the
00:23:34.620 passion is gone,
00:23:36.140 he loses the
00:23:37.060 election.
00:23:38.340 If you just
00:23:39.180 want to boil
00:23:39.700 this down to
00:23:40.400 politics,
00:23:41.180 the worst
00:23:42.060 thing the
00:23:42.940 GOP can do
00:23:43.940 is further
00:23:46.520 this kind
00:23:47.240 of legislation.
00:23:50.020 And by
00:23:50.720 the way,
00:23:51.320 it is
00:23:52.400 precisely
00:23:53.060 because you
00:23:53.840 believe that
00:23:54.680 you have the
00:23:55.220 right to
00:23:55.620 deprive me
00:23:56.500 of my
00:23:57.480 property
00:23:58.220 against my
00:23:59.480 will that
00:24:00.120 the Second
00:24:00.740 Amendment
00:24:01.120 exists in
00:24:02.100 the first
00:24:02.440 place.
00:24:05.000 Because you
00:24:06.160 think you
00:24:07.320 have the
00:24:08.100 right to
00:24:09.160 tell me
00:24:10.060 what to
00:24:10.640 do.
00:24:11.040 That's the
00:24:11.820 reason this
00:24:13.000 was written
00:24:13.720 in the
00:24:14.800 first place.
00:24:17.000 The argument
00:24:18.200 for banning
00:24:19.100 and taking
00:24:19.600 away guns
00:24:20.180 is the
00:24:21.200 perfect
00:24:21.720 demonstration
00:24:22.460 on why
00:24:23.400 the government
00:24:23.980 is strictly
00:24:24.700 prohibited
00:24:25.420 in doing
00:24:26.920 so.
00:24:32.500 It's also
00:24:33.400 the reason
00:24:33.860 you're supposed
00:24:34.460 to never be
00:24:35.100 able to do
00:24:35.740 it.
00:24:37.280 If you
00:24:38.120 believe you
00:24:38.620 have the
00:24:39.000 right to
00:24:39.760 take away
00:24:40.460 someone else's
00:24:41.420 right,
00:24:41.940 your
00:24:43.260 argument
00:24:43.620 has no
00:24:44.320 merit.
00:24:48.240 If you're
00:24:49.080 arguing for
00:24:50.040 it,
00:24:50.760 you've made
00:24:51.780 the entire
00:24:52.500 case for
00:24:53.200 the absolute
00:24:53.780 need for
00:24:55.040 the very
00:24:55.480 thing that
00:24:56.080 you're railing
00:24:56.840 against.
00:24:58.140 So why
00:24:59.260 argue?
00:25:00.000 All you have
00:25:00.560 to do is
00:25:01.040 simply say,
00:25:01.940 no,
00:25:03.500 the Constitution
00:25:04.720 prohibits
00:25:06.140 this.
00:25:06.720 you don't
00:25:08.300 get to
00:25:08.920 take away
00:25:10.440 anybody's
00:25:10.940 guns.
00:25:11.400 You don't
00:25:11.660 get away
00:25:12.020 to take
00:25:12.320 away
00:25:12.520 anybody's
00:25:13.080 rights.
00:25:13.580 It's not
00:25:14.360 up to
00:25:15.200 you.
00:25:16.040 No human
00:25:16.720 being has
00:25:17.520 any inherent
00:25:18.440 right to
00:25:20.460 take away
00:25:21.320 someone's
00:25:22.660 right to
00:25:24.440 defend
00:25:24.740 themselves.
00:25:25.460 And what
00:25:25.900 you're talking
00:25:26.440 about is
00:25:27.160 your right to
00:25:28.060 initiate the
00:25:28.920 use of
00:25:29.440 force against
00:25:31.060 another human
00:25:31.700 being to
00:25:32.220 take away
00:25:32.760 their right.
00:25:33.400 no matter
00:25:36.120 what social
00:25:36.660 problem you
00:25:37.240 believe you're
00:25:37.680 solving,
00:25:38.240 what equation
00:25:39.260 you're trying
00:25:39.820 to balance,
00:25:40.760 if you're on
00:25:41.260 the side of
00:25:41.740 an argument
00:25:42.260 that must
00:25:43.580 necessarily
00:25:44.420 initiate the
00:25:45.600 use of
00:25:46.040 violence against
00:25:46.780 another person
00:25:47.460 or group
00:25:47.800 for its
00:25:48.340 success,
00:25:49.140 you've come
00:25:50.380 up short
00:25:50.980 in your
00:25:52.160 philosophical
00:25:53.060 evaluation
00:25:54.100 because it
00:25:57.400 relies on
00:25:58.500 the immoral
00:25:59.180 action for
00:26:00.100 its execution.
00:26:01.560 Well,
00:26:02.080 you would
00:26:02.780 rise up
00:26:03.340 against you.
00:26:03.660 Yes,
00:26:03.860 of course I
00:26:04.340 would rise
00:26:04.720 up against
00:26:05.200 you.
00:26:05.960 You're
00:26:06.460 taking away
00:26:07.020 someone's
00:26:07.440 right.
00:26:07.800 Even if I
00:26:08.440 didn't own
00:26:09.120 guns, I
00:26:10.260 would be
00:26:10.600 against you.
00:26:12.280 Well, the
00:26:13.020 law, well,
00:26:14.300 okay, wait a
00:26:15.020 minute, hang
00:26:15.360 on, let's,
00:26:16.400 can we just
00:26:16.800 talk about the
00:26:17.480 law here for
00:26:18.120 a second?
00:26:19.520 It doesn't
00:26:20.340 matter what
00:26:21.060 the law
00:26:21.740 says when
00:26:22.500 it comes
00:26:22.880 down to
00:26:23.740 right and
00:26:24.640 wrong, at
00:26:25.320 least in
00:26:25.880 America.
00:26:28.560 Let's say,
00:26:29.440 let's say
00:26:30.220 America, for
00:26:31.100 some reason,
00:26:31.860 the law
00:26:32.360 decides,
00:26:33.340 that, you
00:26:34.600 know, a
00:26:37.800 woman can
00:26:38.380 be raped by
00:26:39.820 her husband
00:26:40.360 at any
00:26:41.080 time.
00:26:41.620 She has
00:26:41.920 no right
00:26:42.380 to ever
00:26:42.840 say no.
00:26:45.460 Well, if
00:26:46.120 that's what
00:26:46.520 they pass in
00:26:47.440 Congress, if
00:26:48.100 that's what the
00:26:48.620 Supreme Court
00:26:49.500 says is
00:26:50.660 legal, do
00:26:52.460 we just all
00:26:53.140 go along
00:26:53.720 with it?
00:26:54.520 Do we all
00:26:55.140 just say,
00:26:55.860 oh, okay.
00:26:59.660 Well, we'd
00:27:00.500 never do
00:27:00.920 that.
00:27:01.280 Really?
00:27:01.700 We'd never
00:27:02.140 do that?
00:27:02.640 Because I
00:27:02.880 don't know if
00:27:03.200 you know this
00:27:03.640 in our
00:27:03.900 history, the
00:27:04.600 Supreme Court
00:27:05.260 said one
00:27:05.900 group of
00:27:06.340 people could
00:27:06.800 enslave another
00:27:07.540 group of
00:27:08.000 people, so
00:27:08.760 it's not
00:27:09.200 beyond us.
00:27:10.380 And if you're
00:27:11.160 saying that it's
00:27:11.820 white supremacy
00:27:12.640 right now that
00:27:13.620 is driving all
00:27:14.760 of this madness,
00:27:16.380 well, gee, then
00:27:17.640 aren't we on the
00:27:18.160 road back to
00:27:18.840 slavery?
00:27:20.040 Because I've
00:27:20.560 heard Joe
00:27:21.020 Biden said,
00:27:21.680 you know, they
00:27:22.060 just want to
00:27:22.580 throw you all
00:27:23.320 back in chains.
00:27:24.380 That's a
00:27:24.940 quote.
00:27:26.260 So aren't we
00:27:27.180 on the road
00:27:28.140 back to
00:27:28.840 insanity?
00:27:31.120 Wouldn't the
00:27:31.920 laws that we
00:27:32.920 have, the
00:27:34.580 Constitution that
00:27:36.660 protects everyone's
00:27:38.260 right to be
00:27:39.440 free, wouldn't
00:27:40.300 that become more
00:27:41.280 important?
00:27:41.920 Because I don't
00:27:42.560 know about you,
00:27:44.940 but just because
00:27:46.640 just because the
00:27:48.260 law says
00:27:49.400 something doesn't
00:27:50.660 mean that it's
00:27:51.960 right.
00:27:53.260 I would stand
00:27:54.480 against the law
00:27:55.660 to enslave
00:27:56.380 another person.
00:27:57.600 I would stand
00:27:58.840 against a law
00:27:59.740 that would say
00:28:00.620 a wife has to
00:28:01.820 submit to her
00:28:02.440 husband at any
00:28:03.180 time.
00:28:05.440 I would stand
00:28:06.400 against those
00:28:06.940 laws, and I
00:28:07.760 would stand
00:28:08.260 against the law
00:28:09.100 that says a
00:28:11.280 human being does
00:28:12.240 not have a
00:28:13.080 right to use
00:28:14.240 everything in his
00:28:15.260 power or her
00:28:16.300 power to defend
00:28:17.800 themselves.
00:28:21.480 Guns are, guns
00:28:22.480 stop rape all
00:28:23.980 the time in
00:28:24.720 America.
00:28:26.280 Guns stop
00:28:27.660 rape.
00:28:28.500 Women use a
00:28:29.800 gun because
00:28:30.760 they are
00:28:32.020 physically, well
00:28:34.740 I dare not say
00:28:36.080 this, unless we
00:28:37.980 want to talk
00:28:38.760 about those new
00:28:40.340 girls that are
00:28:41.960 identifying as
00:28:43.100 girls who are
00:28:44.740 now on sporting
00:28:45.720 teams who are
00:28:47.080 crushing the
00:28:48.340 girls in girls
00:28:50.440 sports because
00:28:51.380 they identify as
00:28:53.180 girls.
00:28:53.960 Stop with this.
00:28:55.300 It's not science.
00:28:56.700 It's not real.
00:28:58.260 It doesn't make
00:28:58.940 any sense.
00:29:01.760 Because women
00:29:03.100 are built
00:29:04.040 differently than
00:29:04.680 men, men can
00:29:06.360 overpower them.
00:29:08.060 That's why a lot
00:29:09.100 of women carry
00:29:10.400 guns.
00:29:11.460 And it's wise.
00:29:13.080 If you're a
00:29:15.000 woman who is
00:29:16.060 a target or
00:29:17.240 in danger or
00:29:18.400 you just don't
00:29:19.080 feel safe, if
00:29:20.400 you are a
00:29:21.200 responsible gun
00:29:22.720 owner and you
00:29:23.620 know how to
00:29:24.420 use it, look, if
00:29:25.040 you don't know how
00:29:25.520 to use it, it's
00:29:26.080 most likely going to
00:29:26.700 be turned against
00:29:27.320 you.
00:29:28.260 But if you have
00:29:29.120 confidence and you
00:29:30.120 know what you're
00:29:30.800 doing with that
00:29:31.380 gun, believe me,
00:29:32.300 nobody's going to
00:29:32.720 be raping you.
00:29:35.960 You're going to
00:29:36.540 take that right
00:29:37.120 away from my
00:29:37.760 daughter.
00:29:38.680 You're going to
00:29:39.240 take that right
00:29:39.780 away from
00:29:40.160 somebody's
00:29:40.660 wife, somebody
00:29:42.240 else's daughter?
00:29:43.120 I don't think
00:29:43.620 so.
00:29:45.440 And I don't
00:29:46.080 care what the
00:29:46.600 Supreme Court
00:29:47.160 says.
00:29:47.580 I don't care
00:29:48.180 what any
00:29:48.540 executive order
00:29:49.260 says.
00:29:49.780 I know what
00:29:50.600 the first or
00:29:51.440 the second
00:29:51.920 amendment says.
00:29:54.180 And the
00:29:54.720 first amendment
00:29:55.300 gives me the
00:29:55.900 right to defend
00:29:56.600 it.
00:29:57.100 And the second
00:29:57.980 amendment gives
00:29:58.680 me the right to
00:29:59.240 defend it even
00:29:59.780 stronger.
00:30:02.660 That's why it's
00:30:04.080 in the
00:30:04.840 Constitution.
00:30:06.380 The Constitution
00:30:07.320 was written and
00:30:08.360 then everybody
00:30:08.820 got together and
00:30:09.520 said, wait a
00:30:10.040 minute, wait a
00:30:10.460 minute, wait a
00:30:10.880 minute, there
00:30:11.380 are going to
00:30:11.640 be some dumb
00:30:12.620 ass politicians
00:30:13.560 that are going
00:30:14.020 to be coming
00:30:14.460 down the line
00:30:15.140 and they're
00:30:15.780 going to try
00:30:16.140 to change
00:30:16.840 this and turn
00:30:17.880 us all upside
00:30:18.500 down.
00:30:19.200 And so the
00:30:19.820 politicians at
00:30:20.580 the time said,
00:30:21.400 no, no, no,
00:30:22.460 that's insane.
00:30:23.540 We're never
00:30:24.040 going to do
00:30:24.520 that.
00:30:25.080 Really?
00:30:25.440 Then why
00:30:25.760 don't you
00:30:26.060 write them
00:30:26.440 down?
00:30:27.040 Here's 10
00:30:27.860 things that you
00:30:28.860 need to write
00:30:29.560 down.
00:30:30.560 And so they
00:30:31.600 did.
00:30:33.280 Oh, the
00:30:33.820 founding fathers,
00:30:34.440 they could have
00:30:34.760 never seen what
00:30:35.460 was coming.
00:30:36.180 Really?
00:30:36.460 Because it
00:30:36.760 seems like they
00:30:37.260 saw this one
00:30:37.760 coming.
00:30:38.440 That's why they
00:30:39.160 wrote it down.
00:30:42.640 Screw your
00:30:43.540 scourge to the
00:30:44.520 sticking place,
00:30:46.000 to quote
00:30:46.520 Shakespeare.
00:30:48.080 Now is the
00:30:48.980 time.
00:30:50.760 You either
00:30:51.120 believe in the
00:30:51.820 Second Amendment
00:30:52.400 and in the
00:30:53.020 Constitution or
00:30:53.880 you don't.
00:30:54.720 We know the
00:30:55.420 GOP does not.
00:30:57.380 Send them the
00:30:58.580 message and
00:30:59.740 send the White
00:31:00.460 House the
00:31:00.980 message.
00:31:01.880 You do
00:31:02.680 believe in the
00:31:03.760 Second Amendment
00:31:04.400 and you will
00:31:06.640 remember those
00:31:07.840 members who
00:31:08.740 either stood
00:31:09.660 for the
00:31:10.260 Constitution or
00:31:11.720 failed to do
00:31:12.820 so.
00:31:19.440 So what else
00:31:20.260 did I miss
00:31:20.920 while I was
00:31:21.880 gone?
00:31:22.280 You know,
00:31:22.520 the country
00:31:23.340 going to hell,
00:31:24.520 but it's been
00:31:25.420 going to hell
00:31:25.860 for quite a
00:31:26.420 while.
00:31:26.760 Well, I think
00:31:27.040 you missed some
00:31:27.600 things on the
00:31:28.260 whole gun
00:31:28.620 issue.
00:31:28.980 I mean, you're
00:31:29.860 missing maybe the
00:31:31.440 most important
00:31:31.880 points.
00:31:32.520 Oh, really?
00:31:33.180 Yeah.
00:31:33.620 Like a close
00:31:34.400 advisor to Mitch
00:31:35.660 McConnell, Scott
00:31:36.400 Jennings.
00:31:36.840 said that he
00:31:38.540 spoke with the
00:31:39.040 leader this week
00:31:39.560 and encouraged
00:31:40.020 him to pursue
00:31:40.660 a background
00:31:41.180 check bill.
00:31:42.320 And, you know,
00:31:42.980 you talked about
00:31:43.440 the Constitution,
00:31:44.660 people's God
00:31:45.160 given rights, but
00:31:45.880 listen to this
00:31:46.360 argument.
00:31:47.160 I think we've
00:31:47.700 reached a tipping
00:31:48.200 point.
00:31:49.000 The polling
00:31:49.420 clearly supports
00:31:50.220 that notion.
00:31:51.400 So if you
00:31:52.140 take that into
00:31:53.140 account, then
00:31:54.520 how do you feel
00:31:55.160 about it?
00:31:55.480 Because I think
00:31:55.720 that's something
00:31:56.620 you just completely
00:31:57.420 ignored.
00:31:58.820 And he said,
00:31:59.600 as long as the
00:32:00.260 president is going
00:32:00.920 to be for
00:32:01.360 something, I
00:32:01.860 think there will
00:32:02.320 be momentum for
00:32:03.180 it in the
00:32:03.500 party, which
00:32:04.520 really shows
00:32:05.280 leadership.
00:32:05.780 I think if
00:32:06.300 you can just, I
00:32:07.120 always want to
00:32:08.060 elect senators
00:32:08.860 that will be
00:32:09.920 leaders enough
00:32:10.840 to be able to
00:32:12.040 take the
00:32:13.040 direction from
00:32:13.880 the president,
00:32:14.420 no matter which
00:32:15.160 direction he goes
00:32:15.860 in and follow
00:32:16.460 it.
00:32:17.120 That's the sort
00:32:17.900 of leadership I
00:32:18.520 want out of my
00:32:19.040 senators.
00:32:19.240 Because I was
00:32:19.600 looking for
00:32:19.960 somebody who
00:32:20.520 wanted to
00:32:21.020 protect and
00:32:21.600 defend the
00:32:22.080 Constitution of
00:32:22.940 the United
00:32:23.200 States of
00:32:23.740 America.
00:32:24.480 That's all I
00:32:26.600 wanted.
00:32:27.120 Are you even
00:32:28.240 speaking English?
00:32:29.000 No, I'm not.
00:32:29.820 I don't even
00:32:30.220 understand.
00:32:31.000 No, I'm not.
00:32:31.420 It's fascinating
00:32:32.060 because there is
00:32:33.240 serious momentum.
00:32:35.100 I mean, we go
00:32:35.460 back to, you
00:32:36.860 know, Trump has
00:32:37.380 signaled support
00:32:38.780 for this sort of
00:32:39.620 thing before, and
00:32:41.740 every time it's
00:32:42.820 happened, his
00:32:43.880 supporters, his
00:32:45.000 people, people who
00:32:46.300 love him, people who
00:32:47.420 think he's doing a
00:32:47.880 great job as
00:32:48.380 president, rise up
00:32:49.580 and say, Mr.
00:32:50.700 President, we
00:32:51.620 know this might
00:32:52.180 not, you know, you
00:32:52.700 might not be, you
00:32:53.400 don't have the same
00:32:53.820 background as us.
00:32:54.360 You might not be
00:32:54.700 from Michigan.
00:32:55.500 You know, you
00:32:55.740 might not be from
00:32:56.440 rural Pennsylvania
00:32:58.460 where guns are
00:32:59.040 really important to
00:32:59.640 us and the
00:32:59.940 Second Amendment's
00:33:00.460 really important to
00:33:00.980 because I
00:33:01.180 understand that, but
00:33:02.140 this is a big
00:33:02.640 issue.
00:33:02.940 You can't cross
00:33:03.440 this line.
00:33:04.200 Please don't
00:33:04.820 cross this line.
00:33:05.760 We heard that
00:33:06.160 from nonstop
00:33:06.700 callers while
00:33:07.260 you were gone.
00:33:07.860 We've seen it
00:33:08.200 all over social
00:33:08.760 media, and he's
00:33:10.160 going down this
00:33:10.680 road.
00:33:11.620 Every other time
00:33:12.600 this has happened,
00:33:13.420 he has backed
00:33:14.060 off because people
00:33:15.720 in this audience,
00:33:17.140 people in
00:33:17.880 conservative circles,
00:33:18.940 supporters of
00:33:19.460 Donald Trump have
00:33:20.120 told him, please
00:33:21.500 don't do this.
00:33:22.580 If you don't let
00:33:24.060 him know right now,
00:33:25.680 they're going to
00:33:26.140 go down this road.
00:33:26.980 And he will lose
00:33:27.560 the election.
00:33:28.420 He'll lose the
00:33:29.180 election not because
00:33:29.880 people won't vote
00:33:30.580 for him.
00:33:31.640 He'll lose the
00:33:32.320 election because he
00:33:33.160 needs passion behind
00:33:35.360 him.
00:33:36.180 He needs people to
00:33:37.420 be passionate.
00:33:38.680 It is passion that
00:33:39.920 will close any gap
00:33:41.380 in the end.
00:33:43.200 It is passion.
00:33:44.480 And certainly the
00:33:45.020 Trump campaign has
00:33:45.840 been a story of
00:33:46.460 passion, right?
00:33:47.180 Yes.
00:33:47.580 So, you know,
00:33:48.600 maybe you don't have
00:33:49.500 a big-time Trump
00:33:50.300 supporter.
00:33:50.720 They're not going to
00:33:50.940 go vote for
00:33:51.540 freaking some crazy
00:33:52.520 Democrat, obviously.
00:33:53.440 But are they
00:33:53.860 campaigning for him?
00:33:54.660 Are they donating?
00:33:55.680 Are they out there
00:33:56.380 making phone calls in
00:33:57.400 that last week?
00:33:58.800 Are they motivated
00:33:59.800 to go out in the
00:34:00.820 rain in November?
00:34:02.040 Exactly.
00:34:02.680 I mean, it's that
00:34:03.320 kind of...
00:34:03.960 This is why Hillary
00:34:05.740 Clinton lost.
00:34:06.880 It's not because they
00:34:07.820 wanted to vote for
00:34:08.660 Donald Trump.
00:34:09.420 It's because they
00:34:10.140 didn't really care
00:34:10.780 about her.
00:34:12.660 Donald Trump must
00:34:13.940 keep the passion.
00:34:15.260 And if he passes any
00:34:16.600 gun bills, I'm telling
00:34:18.680 you, he's not going to
00:34:19.880 have the passion behind
00:34:20.840 him.
00:34:21.060 It's going to hurt
00:34:21.880 him in the election.
00:34:23.220 Please, Mr.
00:34:24.140 President, do not do
00:34:26.200 it.
00:34:29.440 This is the best of
00:34:30.860 the Glenn Beck
00:34:31.380 program.
00:34:31.880 Hi, it's Glenn.

00:34:53.800 Thanks.
00:34:54.100 So I just got back
00:34:55.960 from Australia on
00:34:57.200 Saturday and I was
00:34:59.580 there for a reuniting
00:35:02.540 of family that you
00:35:04.000 saved, that this
00:35:05.480 audience saved.
00:35:07.800 What's going on right
00:35:09.100 now in the world and
00:35:10.040 no one's really talking
00:35:11.040 about it is really
00:35:13.500 what it must have been
00:35:14.500 like after World War
00:35:15.580 II, where so many
00:35:16.560 families were separated
00:35:17.840 and they were spread
00:35:18.680 out in so many
00:35:19.360 different countries and
00:35:21.260 families didn't know
00:35:22.320 if people were alive
00:35:23.500 or not.
00:35:24.200 That's what happened
00:35:25.080 to the Yazidi and
00:35:26.320 Christian community.
00:35:27.420 Um, and we have, we
00:35:30.560 have relocated thousands
00:35:32.720 of people, um, many
00:35:35.200 of them to Australia,
00:35:36.580 uh, and the Yazidi,
00:35:39.040 um, community that we
00:35:40.900 have relocated is in a
00:35:42.740 small town called
00:35:43.700 Toowoomba, which I
00:35:45.820 would move to in a
00:35:47.200 heartbeat.
00:35:47.980 Uh, it was a small
00:35:50.860 little town that was
00:35:51.860 like walking into, I
00:35:54.800 don't know, my, my
00:35:55.560 hometown of Mount
00:35:56.540 Vernon, Washington,
00:35:57.320 which I think was
00:35:58.100 about 30,000 people.
00:35:59.420 This is about a
00:35:59.780 hundred thousand
00:36:00.320 people and there's
00:36:01.460 nothing else around
00:36:02.400 it.
00:36:03.240 Um, and, uh, it's,
00:36:06.320 it still has the
00:36:07.160 downtown, uh, you
00:36:09.320 know, thriving.
00:36:10.180 It has the biggest
00:36:10.860 mall I've ever seen.
00:36:11.840 It's incredible.
00:36:13.100 It's right downtown
00:36:14.160 and it's this gigantic
00:36:16.340 mall.
00:36:17.180 I'm thinking to
00:36:17.880 myself, there's only
00:36:18.980 a hundred thousand
00:36:19.820 people and I think
00:36:20.600 they all work in the
00:36:21.220 mall.
00:36:22.080 Uh, I don't know how
00:36:23.520 much per capita
00:36:24.360 everybody needs to
00:36:25.220 spend at that mall,
00:36:26.080 but, um, uh, but it
00:36:28.820 also has the downtown
00:36:29.940 and it's, and it's
00:36:31.580 just this really nice
00:36:34.640 little town.
00:36:36.480 And, uh, I went
00:36:37.940 there a couple of
00:36:38.640 days early to meet
00:36:40.120 with, uh, about a
00:36:41.780 hundred of, of the
00:36:43.800 families that are
00:36:44.540 having problems
00:36:45.440 getting their other
00:36:46.900 family members either
00:36:48.480 found or reunited
00:36:50.760 with them because
00:36:52.160 they're in different
00:36:53.020 countries.
00:36:53.500 There's some of them
00:36:54.200 are in Germany, some
00:36:55.220 of them are in, you
00:36:56.240 know, Sweden or
00:36:57.040 France, uh, and, and
00:36:59.500 some of them are still
00:37:00.600 in Iraq and they can't
00:37:02.180 get them out.
00:37:02.780 One of them was this,
00:37:03.820 this woman who was
00:37:05.180 one of the slaves and
00:37:06.980 for some reason, the
00:37:07.900 paperwork is just
00:37:09.220 keeps getting, you
00:37:10.380 know, fouled up.
00:37:11.280 And so we're trying to
00:37:12.680 unite them.
00:37:13.300 And, and I think this
00:37:14.860 is the way it was
00:37:15.960 after world war two
00:37:17.900 where families were
00:37:21.260 trying to put
00:37:22.100 themselves back
00:37:23.000 together and they
00:37:24.000 didn't even know who
00:37:24.740 was alive and who
00:37:26.200 was dead.
00:37:27.340 Um, but at that
00:37:28.320 time countries were
00:37:29.840 working together.
00:37:31.180 Countries aren't
00:37:31.960 working together right
00:37:32.960 now.
00:37:33.820 Uh, and so you'll
00:37:35.060 have people in other
00:37:36.660 countries and they
00:37:37.820 won't be able to cut
00:37:39.340 the red tape, uh, and
00:37:41.680 reunite.
00:37:42.440 And we reunited, um,
00:37:44.500 this woman named
00:37:45.340 Guli who was a slave
00:37:47.100 of ISIS, uh, for
00:37:49.140 about two years.
00:37:51.480 Everybody in her
00:37:52.360 family was killed
00:37:53.200 except for her and
00:37:54.000 her two daughters.
00:37:55.680 And, uh, uh, she
00:37:58.000 was taken away and
00:37:59.460 they were tortured
00:38:00.160 just horribly.
00:38:01.860 Uh, and then the
00:38:02.860 two daughters, because
00:38:04.240 there were 12, I
00:38:05.260 think 12 and 13, uh,
00:38:08.160 were taken, uh, and
00:38:10.180 they were separated
00:38:11.120 and they were sold
00:38:11.960 off as slaves, sex
00:38:13.320 slaves over and
00:38:14.400 over and over again.
00:38:15.280 And it, it, it,
00:38:16.320 their story is just
00:38:17.720 remarkable, um, how
00:38:21.740 this, this one 12
00:38:23.240 year old girl managed
00:38:25.380 to survive and
00:38:27.380 escape, uh, for a
00:38:29.420 year.
00:38:29.740 She was, she hid in
00:38:31.820 a house, uh, like
00:38:34.020 Anne Frank.
00:38:34.780 I mean, she, they
00:38:35.660 had a little place
00:38:36.620 behind the, the
00:38:38.140 cupboards that she
00:38:39.500 would go and she
00:38:40.520 would live.
00:38:40.780 She was 12 years
00:38:41.900 old.
00:38:43.260 What she went
00:38:44.380 through is remarkable.
00:38:46.960 Um, but we
00:38:49.280 reunited her with
00:38:50.740 her mom.
00:38:51.520 They both thought
00:38:52.180 she was dead.
00:38:52.960 And I have to tell
00:38:55.080 you, uh, if you
00:38:59.140 hadn't seen your
00:38:59.940 daughter since she
00:39:02.340 was 12 and you
00:39:04.160 thought she was
00:39:04.940 dead and then she
00:39:09.540 was found out to be
00:39:10.420 alive and you were
00:39:12.100 reuniting, what
00:39:14.620 would be the, what
00:39:16.320 would be the one
00:39:17.180 thing on that day
00:39:18.580 you would want to
00:39:19.600 do when the day you're
00:39:21.280 reunited, what would
00:39:23.060 be the one thing that
00:39:24.020 you would want to
00:39:24.480 do?
00:39:26.600 I just want to be
00:39:27.460 with her all day.
00:39:28.400 Okay.
00:39:28.800 And I wouldn't
00:39:29.420 want anybody around
00:39:30.320 her mom.
00:39:32.300 We found out the
00:39:33.120 day that she was
00:39:34.140 reunited.
00:39:34.600 I'm standing at the
00:39:35.680 airport and I'm
00:39:36.460 waiting with her and
00:39:37.540 she is just so sweet.
00:39:39.240 She's so great.
00:39:40.820 And, um, she says
00:39:42.720 through interpreters,
00:39:44.420 uh, she says, you
00:39:45.900 have to come, you
00:39:47.320 have to come to our
00:39:48.240 house today.
00:39:49.360 After this is all
00:39:50.260 over, you have to
00:39:50.880 come.
00:39:51.720 And I said, no, no,
00:39:52.900 no, no, no, no, no.
00:39:53.900 It was be with your
00:39:54.380 daughter.
00:39:54.780 And she was like, no,
00:39:57.620 you, you have to come.
00:39:58.700 And one of the
00:39:59.080 interpreters said, uh,
00:40:00.280 this is tradition.
00:40:01.160 You really want to go.
00:40:02.900 And, um, she made a
00:40:06.240 meal for us.
00:40:07.280 It took her two days to
00:40:09.540 make all this food.
00:40:11.080 And when you think of
00:40:12.140 you ziti food, you
00:40:13.060 must, if you're like
00:40:14.200 me, you're thinking
00:40:14.820 yum, right?
00:40:16.580 I have no idea what
00:40:18.260 you ziti food is.
00:40:19.680 She worked and worked
00:40:20.700 and worked.
00:40:21.220 And it was luckily
00:40:22.020 really good.
00:40:22.620 Cause I told my son,
00:40:23.560 when we went in, I
00:40:24.140 said, you've got to
00:40:25.020 eat it no matter what
00:40:25.980 it is.
00:40:26.380 If it's spiders, we
00:40:27.400 gotta eat.
00:40:27.920 Even if it's the
00:40:28.300 Indiana Jones thing
00:40:29.200 where they cut open
00:40:29.980 a snake and there's
00:40:30.960 like, yeah, we gotta
00:40:32.140 go for it.
00:40:33.080 Uh, and it was
00:40:33.720 really good.
00:40:34.940 She refused to let
00:40:37.260 us go until we,
00:40:40.240 until she fed us.
00:40:41.760 She, she like for
00:40:43.060 two hours, we were
00:40:44.140 like, you're really
00:40:44.800 really your daughter.
00:40:45.700 And she's like,
00:40:46.200 we're fine.
00:40:46.780 We're fine.
00:40:47.320 We're fine.
00:40:48.060 You cannot leave.
00:40:48.820 And the men were
00:40:50.020 telling us, this is
00:40:51.100 like big customs.
00:40:53.440 you don't break
00:40:55.360 this.
00:40:55.740 And they were so
00:40:57.200 sweet and so kind
00:40:58.700 and so nice.
00:40:59.660 And the neighbors, we
00:41:00.480 met the neighbors from
00:41:01.900 Australia and they
00:41:03.100 were kind and nice.
00:41:04.380 At one point, because
00:41:06.260 we reunited, now
00:41:07.980 think of this in
00:41:08.560 America, because we
00:41:10.320 reunited, there were
00:41:11.140 all these people, all
00:41:12.880 these Yazidis that
00:41:13.880 were all coming to
00:41:14.720 this little teeny
00:41:15.480 house on this street
00:41:17.060 corner, real close to
00:41:18.100 town.
00:41:18.640 Okay.
00:41:19.080 It's like right in
00:41:20.460 downtown.
00:41:21.000 It's across the
00:41:21.440 street from the
00:41:21.920 mall.
00:41:22.600 And, um, this is a
00:41:24.000 little teeny house and
00:41:24.700 all these Yazidi men
00:41:25.920 were there.
00:41:26.740 And then all of us,
00:41:28.680 these white guys were
00:41:30.960 coming.
00:41:32.060 The police stop the
00:41:33.820 car and they get out
00:41:35.580 and they approach us
00:41:37.400 and they say, what's
00:41:39.460 going on?
00:41:40.640 Now I'm thinking
00:41:41.820 immediately, oh, they
00:41:43.900 think that maybe there's
00:41:44.960 a bunch of, you
00:41:46.000 know, Arab looking
00:41:48.260 people that don't
00:41:49.580 speak English.
00:41:50.260 What's going on?
00:41:51.260 No, no, no, no, no,
00:41:52.560 no, no.
00:41:53.060 They stopped because
00:41:54.320 they knew that there
00:41:55.580 were immigrants there
00:41:56.980 and they knew the
00:41:58.880 family and they didn't
00:42:00.180 know the whole
00:42:00.860 situation or anything.
00:42:01.720 And then they saw a
00:42:02.620 bunch of white people
00:42:03.440 going in and they
00:42:04.280 thought, are they in
00:42:05.680 trouble?
00:42:06.020 Are they, are these
00:42:06.720 anybody causing
00:42:07.380 trouble?
00:42:08.260 Meaning that you guys,
00:42:09.480 you were profiled, you
00:42:10.700 were racially profiled.
00:42:12.140 We were profiled.
00:42:13.760 We were profiled.
00:42:14.520 And I got there and I
00:42:15.620 was concerned about how
00:42:16.960 is this community, such
00:42:18.840 a small community, going
00:42:20.780 to be able to adapt to,
00:42:22.960 you know, these people
00:42:23.900 who don't speak English.
00:42:25.020 Well, I'll tell you
00:42:25.500 how.
00:42:26.860 When we went to meet
00:42:28.200 with them in this old
00:42:29.360 church, really poor,
00:42:31.460 poor church, we go in
00:42:33.800 and we sit down with
00:42:34.560 them and we're talking.
00:42:36.460 The, about half of
00:42:37.800 them came in and they
00:42:39.960 were like, hello, Mr.
00:42:41.660 Beck.
00:42:42.440 Hello.
00:42:43.240 How are you?
00:42:44.120 They were speaking
00:42:44.900 English and they were
00:42:45.940 proud to show that they
00:42:47.620 were speaking English.
00:42:49.140 We had to have this
00:42:50.380 meeting like at six o'clock
00:42:51.760 at night, which was, you
00:42:53.560 know, like 3 a.m.
00:42:54.900 to me and I'm begging
00:42:57.400 all day.
00:42:58.260 Can't we do this earlier
00:43:00.180 in the day?
00:43:01.680 No, because every single
00:43:04.560 one of them have mandatory
00:43:06.980 school for English that they
00:43:10.000 must attend, they must learn
00:43:13.120 English and Australian
00:43:15.240 customs.
00:43:16.480 And if they don't pass, they
00:43:19.160 get to take it again.
00:43:20.600 It's a year.
00:43:21.420 They can take it again.
00:43:22.780 If they don't pass, they go
00:43:25.100 home.
00:43:26.340 You must speak English if
00:43:29.300 you're coming into Australia.
00:43:31.060 And why?
00:43:32.720 As the Australians told
00:43:34.260 me, because they would be
00:43:36.160 slaves of someone else if
00:43:39.140 they didn't understand the
00:43:40.640 language here.
00:43:42.360 I laughed and they said,
00:43:44.720 what's so funny?
00:43:45.580 And I said, nothing.
00:43:46.940 It's just the common sense
00:43:48.080 still works here.
00:43:49.120 That's humorous to me.
00:43:50.860 We would never even consider
00:43:53.060 that here.
00:43:53.940 You racist Aussies.
00:43:56.940 They didn't laugh.
00:43:57.760 They didn't get that joke,
00:43:58.660 but I wonder why it's it's
00:44:02.140 we're going to show you the
00:44:04.880 video of it.
00:44:05.660 I did a Facebook post last
00:44:08.360 week live from the airport
00:44:10.200 and there's there was nothing
00:44:13.660 like it.
00:44:14.820 And you need to know that
00:44:17.760 what you're doing is
00:44:20.240 historic.
00:44:21.400 What this audience has done
00:44:23.240 with the Nazarene Fund is
00:44:25.560 remarkable and there is I
00:44:29.160 left there and I said to my
00:44:31.900 son, if we do nothing else
00:44:34.220 in our life, nothing else in
00:44:36.880 our life, our life was worth
00:44:40.000 living because of this moment.
00:44:42.820 I wish you could have come
00:44:44.440 with me and I wish I could
00:44:46.880 take you on the thousands of
00:44:48.880 stories that we are compiling
00:44:51.120 every day because you donated
00:44:55.080 to the Nazarene Fund because
00:44:56.800 you cared.
00:44:59.360 One guy stood up in this
00:45:01.240 meeting.
00:45:01.760 He didn't speak any English
00:45:03.180 and he must have been about
00:45:04.300 65 years old and he kept
00:45:05.740 looking at me and I kept
00:45:07.780 smiling at him.
00:45:08.520 I could just feel his heart
00:45:10.240 and he kept smiling back at me
00:45:14.100 and finally he he looked at me
00:45:16.580 like, can I talk to you?
00:45:17.680 So I went around the corner and
00:45:20.840 somebody else who was a friend
00:45:23.360 of his was interpreting.
00:45:25.280 He couldn't speak any English
00:45:26.760 except hello and he said he
00:45:29.440 started to cry and he said, I
00:45:31.580 lost my brothers.
00:45:33.580 I lost my children.
00:45:36.840 I lost my wife.
00:45:38.240 I have no one left.
00:45:39.920 It's just me and he's crying and
00:45:42.980 he's saying, please, please make
00:45:46.720 me a promise that you will go
00:45:48.260 back to America and tell people
00:45:50.900 that this isn't over.
00:45:52.840 Please tell them this isn't
00:45:55.040 over.
00:45:55.500 I have nothing to gain.
00:45:57.020 I don't want anything.
00:45:58.260 I have no one in my family left.
00:46:00.960 Please, my people are being wiped
00:46:03.940 out.
00:46:04.780 Please let them know it's not over.
00:46:12.980 So can I ask you a question about
00:46:20.280 this whole Australia thing?
00:46:21.400 Yes.
00:46:22.220 You went and you had this situation
00:46:24.440 where you've, you know, this
00:46:25.960 audience rescued someone who was
00:46:28.140 thought to be dead, who's going to
00:46:29.160 reunite with the mother in the
00:46:32.040 family.
00:46:32.460 You told the family, hey, we're
00:46:33.640 going to bring her here.
00:46:34.480 You're going to have this big
00:46:35.140 reuniting thing.
00:46:36.320 You were able to put it on
00:46:37.520 Facebook.
00:46:38.580 I'm just questioning, though, the
00:46:40.420 way you did it.
00:46:41.380 Um, you didn't seem to utilize any
00:46:44.680 of your skill as a broadcaster to
00:46:47.900 increase the drama of this moment.
00:46:51.240 For example, you told them in
00:46:53.060 advance.
00:46:53.960 Yes.
00:46:54.340 Like, did you consider at all maybe
00:46:56.100 like delivering a large cake and
00:46:58.340 then she jumps out?
00:46:59.800 I thought about saying, hey, we have
00:47:01.660 news about your daughter.
00:47:03.180 Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.
00:47:04.600 Like long pause.
00:47:05.440 She is bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum,
00:47:07.920 bum, bum.
00:47:10.380 Not dead.
00:47:12.080 You know, I thought about doing
00:47:13.300 that.
00:47:13.840 And then they have like they have
00:47:14.600 this big reaction.
00:47:15.520 Yeah.
00:47:15.780 And you're like, you know what?
00:47:16.600 I want to tell you the story.
00:47:17.580 Let's sit down.
00:47:18.620 I have a quick meal.
00:47:19.460 Wait.
00:47:20.140 Yeah.
00:47:20.380 And then.
00:47:21.180 Right.
00:47:21.800 She in disguise is the waitress.
00:47:24.260 Right.
00:47:24.640 Comes over, serves the whole day.
00:47:26.080 And I just want to tell you one
00:47:26.880 thing.
00:47:28.100 Look at the waitress right now.
00:47:29.340 And then she takes off a mask and
00:47:30.580 it's her.
00:47:31.020 Yeah.
00:47:31.460 Then we have all the cameras there.
00:47:33.080 We capture it.
00:47:34.000 And we don't tell anybody about it
00:47:35.180 now.
00:47:35.780 Can I tell you how much?
00:47:36.500 And you know, this is true.
00:47:38.240 Can I tell you how much?
00:47:39.200 Because there were documentary
00:47:40.760 filmmakers that were there that are
00:47:42.400 making this documentary of this
00:47:44.080 story and all the stories of, oh,
00:47:46.840 you are.
00:47:47.140 And the Nazarene Fund.
00:47:49.020 And I kept saying to them all day,
00:47:53.100 all day, this is so intrusive.
00:47:55.280 Do you want the cameras in your face
00:47:56.920 if you're being reunited?
00:47:58.160 Right.
00:47:58.260 Of course.
00:47:58.560 I mean, I was like, please, let's
00:48:00.580 let's just go away.
00:48:01.480 Let's just leave these people.
00:48:02.900 Right.
00:48:03.360 You know, and that's why I did not.
00:48:05.500 I kept I really did not want to go
00:48:07.960 have lunch with the family because
00:48:09.400 I'm like, you're come on.
00:48:12.020 We're first of all, we have to sit
00:48:13.500 on the floor.
00:48:14.060 I'm an American.
00:48:14.980 I can't sit on the floor.
00:48:16.080 I said that to I said that to her
00:48:18.180 mom at one point, she gets she's
00:48:19.840 like older than I am.
00:48:20.960 And she's just getting up and
00:48:22.520 getting, you know, going up and
00:48:23.600 down, not sitting on a chair.
00:48:24.820 We're sitting on a floor eating
00:48:26.180 and and, you know, she's getting
00:48:28.920 up and down.
00:48:29.640 I have to get up once.
00:48:30.640 And I'm like, oh, I think my legs
00:48:32.380 are locked.
00:48:32.920 I don't think I can.
00:48:34.040 And I looked at her and I said, I
00:48:36.420 can't I could I could never be a
00:48:38.620 you city.
00:48:39.060 And she kind of looked at me funny
00:48:40.200 and I said, look at me.
00:48:42.140 I can't get up from this position.
00:48:44.520 And I'm clearly an American.
00:48:46.740 And everybody laughed.
00:48:48.500 But it was it was hard because it
00:48:50.440 felt intrusive.
00:48:51.680 Yeah.
00:48:52.140 You know, you know, it doesn't feel
00:48:53.180 intrusive.
00:48:53.720 What you set up.
00:48:54.580 You say, look, we're going to fix
00:48:55.800 you're going to fix your house up.
00:48:57.320 We're going to do repairs on it.
00:48:58.700 You walk them back.
00:48:59.760 There's a bus in front of the house.
00:49:01.620 Then you say, hey, everybody, move
00:49:03.340 that bus.
00:49:03.920 They pull the bus away.
00:49:04.900 Same crappy house, but the daughter
00:49:06.300 in front of it.
00:49:07.540 That's a promotion.
00:49:09.120 That's how you draw some attention.
00:49:10.300 That's how we do it.
00:49:10.920 Yes.
00:49:11.280 Can you imagine this reaction?
00:49:12.520 Now, it would be really bad if they
00:49:13.700 were disappointed.
00:49:14.420 Oh, we thought we were getting
00:49:15.180 improvements to the house instead of
00:49:16.420 our daughter.
00:49:16.900 Right.
00:49:17.300 I mean, that would be a bad.
00:49:19.400 But that one, you just don't air
00:49:20.280 that episode.
00:49:20.940 Right.
00:49:21.160 Or you edit around it very carefully.
00:49:23.800 Why not?
00:49:24.240 So I'm a little disappointed in you
00:49:25.480 as an American, as a broadcaster,
00:49:27.060 as a capitalist.
00:49:28.000 You know what also I'm failed to do
00:49:30.800 is get any of the anger or the
00:49:32.360 outrage.
00:49:34.440 That's true.
00:49:35.320 You didn't.
00:49:35.520 Yeah, I didn't get any of that
00:49:36.640 either because they didn't have
00:49:37.820 any.
00:49:38.760 It was the weirdest thing.
00:49:40.940 That is.
00:49:41.140 It was the weirdest thing.
00:49:43.360 Ghouli, the mother, was telling me
00:49:44.820 what happened to her in captivity.
00:49:46.420 And she's telling me this story
00:49:48.040 that would just melt your eyes.
00:49:50.180 Everybody else, we'd be in an
00:49:51.700 institution.
00:49:53.080 And in between, she's like, more
00:49:54.580 chicken?
00:49:55.860 And, you know, I said to her, how
00:49:58.660 are you, how do you deal with this?
00:50:01.560 She's like, it's life.
00:50:03.040 That's what you deal with.
00:50:04.920 No, no, no, that's not life.
00:50:07.120 But over there, it is.
00:50:09.540 It is.
00:50:10.720 And we had a serious discussion on
00:50:13.200 they take it, they deal with it,
00:50:17.920 and then they put it away.
00:50:20.080 We deal with it and we make it our
00:50:22.800 story of our life.
00:50:24.800 It's just one story in their life.
00:50:27.700 And I think that's much more
00:50:29.660 healthy.
00:50:31.460 Because I don't think any American
00:50:33.260 would have dealt with it the way
00:50:35.320 this family was dealing with it.
00:50:37.240 I mean, it was really amazing what
00:50:39.460 they went through and how healthy
00:50:41.420 they actually seemed, at least, to be.
00:50:44.160 The Blaze Radio Network.
00:50:48.960 On demand.
