Transcript

00:00:00.000 Hey, welcome to the Tuesday podcast. A lot of great stuff on today's podcast.
00:00:04.520 The legal green card immigrants and what NPR was saying about, you know, the poor, the tired,
00:00:10.820 the huddled masses. I needed to correct the the the the lies about what our country stands for,
00:00:19.160 what the Statue of Liberty really means. Also, they're building a Statue of Liberty or built
00:00:23.800 a Statue of Liberty. The protesters did in Hong Kong, but they're being beaten over the head.
00:00:28.040 And today's been a bad day in Hong Kong and a bad day for freedom, not only abroad,
00:00:34.460 but here in America. The facts on the red flags guilty until proven not crazy. Also,
00:00:43.080 Sarah Silverman talks about the cancel culture and Chris Cuomo. Should he be red flagged?
00:00:49.760 The question that Donald Trump tweeted today. Why? All that and more on today's podcast.
00:00:58.040 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:01:11.840 Triad Mobile is is a is a phone service that will give you all of the great coverage that you that
00:01:20.540 you want. They're just not going to take the money from you and then invest that in
00:01:28.280 causes that you don't believe in, like Planned Parenthood. Patriot Mobile actually is going to let
00:01:33.480 you invest your money into the causes that you believe in. But most of these cells could sell
00:01:38.180 companies. They they give all kinds of money to crazy, crazy causes that you work hard against.
00:01:44.340 It's true. Why do that? You can go with Patriot Mobile. They were created to solve that problem.
00:01:48.440 They're the only conservative cell phone company in America. Go to Patriot Mobile dot com slash
00:01:52.820 blaze. Get started today. When you use the offer code blaze, they're going to waive the activation
00:01:56.740 fee for up to two lines. Patriot Mobile dot com slash blaze or one eight hundred. A patriot is the
00:02:02.800 place to go. So as I I usually do every morning, I try to listen to the left, listen to the opinions of
00:02:13.500 the other side so I can understand where they're coming from. Many times it has been important to
00:02:21.740 listen to where people are coming from, to be able to understand their point of view and to be able to
00:02:28.480 understand how they arrived at where they are. But increasingly, it is becoming more and more
00:02:34.880 frustrating because there is no logic and there is no authentic fact that is backing up what they
00:02:44.600 have to say. Yesterday, we talked about the facts of guns and gun control. Today, we're going to
00:02:51.080 continue that later on in the program on the facts of red flags. It's been done before.
00:02:58.280 And it hasn't ended up well. So we'll talk to you about the facts and that is really important. If
00:03:06.060 you don't know the facts, please shut your mouth. If you don't know the facts, ask, read. But even the
00:03:17.040 facts that you think you know, perhaps you should look into. Here's what I heard today from the
00:03:24.700 Washington Post and their podcast. I want you to listen to this opening story and the way they
00:03:29.860 frame it. Give us your tired, your poor. Those lines etched on the Statue of Liberty by poet Emma
00:03:35.420 Lazarus are part of our common understanding about what America is, what it has stood for since its
00:03:41.540 founding. Yesterday, a top immigration official in the White House, Ken Cuccinelli, said he's, quote,
00:03:46.580 certainly not prepared to take anything down off the Statue of Liberty. But at the same time,
00:03:51.500 a new administration rule will fundamentally change who gets to come to this country.
00:03:56.320 Okay. Since when? Since when have we been the country that says, hey, come here for free stuff?
00:04:07.480 Hey, come here. If you can't afford things in your country, come here because we're going to give it
00:04:14.320 to you for free. Since when? Now, they will argue that that is the Emma Lazarus poem. Give us your tired,
00:04:24.540 your poor, your huddled masses. That is not what that poem means, period. And we've talked about it
00:04:36.120 before, but it is important that you understand it so you can teach it to your friends. They're never
00:04:43.920 going to get it. There's never there. I have yet to see the anchor or anyone from the left that will
00:04:52.000 honestly say, you know what? I was wrong. I learned something. I see this in a different way. I had
00:05:00.620 a misunderstanding. I have not seen that from the left. I have seen that from the right. We've done
00:05:07.940 it on this program. It's important. If you don't do that, you're not learning anything.
00:05:17.320 So the misunderstanding is that the Statue of Liberty, the emphasis is always on she's the
00:05:24.700 mother of exiles. She's this mom. And she's saying, give us your poor and you're tired and
00:05:32.100 you're huddled masses because we're a giant hospital. That's not what she's saying. That's
00:05:40.140 not what America is. What in what world, including the world of Jesus Christ, in what world does a
00:05:56.020 messenger say, hey, if you're really poor and you just can't make it and you want to live off the fruits
00:06:05.100 of somebody else, come here, come here. In what world does that work? In what world is that financially
00:06:11.660 reasonable? In what world is that spiritually reasonable that crushes people? The Statue of
00:06:22.180 Liberty is a challenge. She holds imprisoned lightning. What is imprisoned lightning? What
00:06:31.840 does that mean? Her torch is called imprisoned lightning. Imprisoned lightning is leading the
00:06:39.320 way of a brighter tomorrow. It's not just, it's not a flame. That flame, that torch is imprisoned
00:06:49.140 lightning. Imprisoned lightning. Imprisoned lightning is a direct reference to the discoveries of
00:06:59.260 the age. Imprisoned lightning is another way of saying a light bulb. It is the invention of
00:07:11.460 the time that is moving things forward. She is the mother of exiles. But let's just look at her for a
00:07:23.760 minute. What is the crown? It's not a crown. It's a misinterpretation. Have you ever seen the
00:07:34.020 Michelangelo sculpture of Moses? That sculpture of Moses? It's sitting in Rome in a church. It's a
00:07:43.380 beautiful sculpture, but it is weird as hell because Moses has horns. Look it up. He has two horns coming
00:07:52.860 out of the side of his head. You're like, what the? Why does Moses have horns? Because it's a
00:08:01.020 misinterpretation of a word. It is easily, I can't remember the word, but it is easily
00:08:10.240 translated to horns. But it is not horns. It is rays of light. So it's not a crown. It is the light
00:08:24.180 behind the statue of liberty. She is standing as a guard in front of something that is, oh, I don't
00:08:32.200 know, dare I say, a shining city on the hill. The light behind her is reflected in that crown. That is a
00:08:42.920 crown of rays of light. And she is standing at our sunset washed gates. She is standing like
00:08:54.060 the Colossus of Rhodes. But the Colossus of Rhodes, which was one of the wonders of the world.
00:09:00.740 The Colossus of Rhodes was holding a spear and a shield. It was a warrior. And the ships would go in
00:09:11.300 between his legs. And he would stand at Rhodes, this great old port. And people would come in and that
00:09:21.300 Colossus was saying, don't screw with us. And so it was meant as a warning. But as Emma Lazarus
00:09:30.280 says, here at our sunset washed gates, stands the mother of exiles. Now the mother of exiles also has
00:09:40.860 chains around her feet, but they're broken chains. They are broken chains, not just as a reflection
00:09:49.300 of us breaking the chains of slavery in 1865. It's not just that. But it is breaking the chains
00:10:00.480 of slavery because of pomp and circumstance and your heraldry. It's breaking the chains of
00:10:14.560 you can't do it because you're not a lord, a lady, or a landowner. And what breaks those chains
00:10:21.660 is what she's holding, the law.
00:10:24.840 So if you understand the Emma Lazarus poem, it is not ever to be read like this. Give me your poor
00:10:43.240 and your tired and your huddled masses. Just send them here. We're going to hold them. That's not
00:10:50.760 the way it is meant. If you listen to the whole poem, you'll understand. Not like the brazen giant
00:10:59.620 of Greek fame with conquering limbs astride from land to land. We are not conquerors. Every war,
00:11:09.020 have we conquered? Did we conquer Europe? Or did we conquer tyranny and give that land and that
00:11:18.020 government back to the people? We are not conquerors that take land. So not like the brazen giant of
00:11:26.360 Greek fame, the Colossus of Rhodes, with conquering limbs astride from land to land. Here at our sea
00:11:34.340 washed sunset gate shall stand a mighty woman with a torch. Now does that sound like your mom? She's not a
00:11:43.360 mighty mom that is standing there with a pie or a mom who is standing there with a teddy bear and a
00:11:49.560 blanket. This is a mighty woman with a torch whose flame is the imprisoned lightning. The ideas of
00:12:00.420 tomorrow that are happening today. And her name is the mother of exiles. Oh, that's sweet. From her beacon
00:12:12.480 hand glows worldwide welcome. Her mild eyes command the air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
00:12:22.260 Those twin cities, the New York Harbor, that's New York City and Brooklyn. She's standing there in
00:12:29.820 between the twin cities and she's welcoming people. But how is she welcoming them? With mild eyes that
00:12:39.800 command. Command what? Command that you listen to what she's saying. Keep your ancient lands and your storied
00:12:50.700 pomp. So in other words, I don't care what your history is. I don't care that you have lords and ladies. I
00:12:58.600 don't care that you went to the right college, the right university. Oh, you have the right papers. Oh, you're in the
00:13:05.720 right guild. You're in the union, so you can do it. I don't care. Keep all of that.
00:13:16.120 Keep your ancient lands and your storied pomp. Cries she with silent lips. Give me your tired,
00:13:24.120 your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
00:13:30.340 She's saying here, I challenge you. I challenge you. Send all the people that you say can't do it.
00:13:39.840 Say, send me all of the people that you are holding down because, oh, they're just riffraff.
00:13:45.780 They're not the right people. Oh, they'll never make it. Send those people to me.
00:13:52.020 Send those people to me. The homeless, the tempest toss, the people you don't want.
00:14:01.600 Send the garbage that you don't want. Why? So I can hold them? No. Because I lift my lamp
00:14:12.420 beside the golden door. The rays of light reflected behind her that you see in the crown, the rays of
00:14:21.160 light. She's standing behind or next to a golden door. She is a guardian of that door. There is
00:14:28.420 something special on the other side of that door, something behind her that is shining so bright.
00:14:36.840 Send them here because the promise of what you can do, I don't care who you are. If you apply
00:14:45.600 yourself, you'll make it here. That's what America is. That's what the Statue of Liberty stands for.
00:14:53.640 Not this bull crap of we're going to hold everybody who just can't make it and doesn't want to do
00:15:00.660 anything for themselves and they just want to sponge off of us. That is putting a chain around
00:15:06.740 their legs and a chain and a ball around our children's necks. That's not what the Statue of
00:15:14.280 Liberty stands for. She is the breaker of chains. But she's only letting you through the door.
00:15:22.900 You have to do it.
00:15:25.380 Hey, it's Glenn. And if you like what you hear on the program, you should check out Pat Gray
00:15:40.760 Unleashed. His podcast is available wherever you download your favorite podcast. First of all,
00:15:46.080 it's pie related. It's about a pie. Oh, I love pie. No, I think this would be a good guest.
00:15:50.200 Don't you dare. No, it's good. Well, I don't know if you know what it is, but Pat, it's a book about
00:15:56.580 pie. It's called the pie letters. And I think it looks pretty interesting. First of all, a lot of
00:16:02.400 interesting conversations about pies, which I know you're a fan of. And then it's about the baker who
00:16:11.760 writes letters about the history of their family and the things that went on in their family,
00:16:17.580 in-depth things about their family and how it might relate to other people's lives.
00:16:21.760 And of course, obviously, you like advice. You want to live your better life, live your best life.
00:16:26.380 Sure. I don't know if you recognize the author at all.
00:16:30.120 This is... Oh, wow.
00:16:32.680 Coletta? Coletta. Yeah.
00:16:35.500 Coletta, she is... Now, doesn't she look a little familiar?
00:16:38.880 If you look at her, she doesn't have any resemblance to anyone you know.
00:16:42.380 Would you say? We do look an awful lot alike now, don't we?
00:16:46.180 Yeah, you do. Yeah.
00:16:47.540 This is Glenn's sister has come out with a book.
00:16:49.380 Yeah.
00:16:49.680 That's really cool.
00:16:50.480 And it's a really cool idea for a book. It is legitimately about pies and like the things...
00:16:55.040 It's about life lessons.
00:16:58.040 Yeah. Here's the thing. My sister has wanted to write this book forever and she's been working
00:17:03.800 on it for a while. And it's really kind of, you know, we all go through our own journey.
00:17:08.020 And after her husband committed suicide and, you know, we had a sketchy childhood, et cetera,
00:17:15.000 et cetera, she kind of just goes away and goes on this journey to find the meaning of life.
00:17:25.860 And she thinks she's going to go in one direction. Instead, she returns back home in Wyoming.
00:17:31.860 And she opens up this little business that she's only making, I don't even know, 20 pies, 12 pies a month,
00:17:39.860 something like that. And it's personal. You have, you know, she selects people that she's going to make pies for
00:17:47.100 and they buy a pie a month. And so she has a pie of the month club. And with each of those pies,
00:17:54.100 there is a letter of why that pie was important and what it means to her and her journey and its
00:18:04.080 life lessons. It's really, it's really well written. I was, I was, was, I was disappointed
00:18:11.960 because I was like, well, now she's, no, I'm not, no, I'm not unique. She's got a really good book too.
00:18:17.640 Yeah. I mean, it's much better than the trash you churn out, but it's actually,
00:18:20.280 there could be some interesting nuggets. I feel like we could maybe mine as far as,
00:18:26.320 I could interview my sister, but I don't think you guys interviewing my sister would be good for
00:18:31.760 the book. It seems like a really good idea. I can add to it. I think, you know, and I believe
00:18:35.800 there's a show called Pat Gray Unleashed. I believe there is immediately before this one.
00:18:39.940 Right. And don't you make the decisions on what guests come on the show?
00:18:42.520 Indeed I do.
00:18:42.860 Oh, that's interesting. Yes, I do.
00:18:43.780 You control all the content, right?
00:18:44.980 I do.
00:18:45.580 Too bad you guys don't know how to get ahold of her.
00:18:48.120 Oh, I think we can figure it out. I think we can figure it out.
00:18:52.040 We can put the whole staff on that one.
00:18:54.400 So anyway, if you're, if you're interested in, uh, in, in not the interview, definitely not the
00:18:59.200 interview. Uh, but if you're interested in the, uh, book, it is, it's really a good book.
00:19:04.360 Is it available on Amazon?
00:19:05.680 Yeah, Amazon. It's the pie letters, uh, just called the pie letters or,
00:19:09.940 is it pie letters? Does it have the?
00:19:11.960 It is the pie letters and I like pie. I like let, I like all 26 letters.
00:19:16.860 Right. I'm a big fan of all of them.
00:19:18.440 This is the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:19:34.060 Hey, it's Glenn. And you're listening to the Glenn Beck program. If you like what you're hearing on
00:19:38.120 this show, make sure you check out Pat Gray unleashed. It's available wherever you download
00:19:43.460 your favorite podcasts. All right. Hong Kong is, I mean, I don't know how these guys are expecting
00:19:52.040 to win, but God bless them. God bless these, these freedom fighters, true freedom fighters
00:20:00.060 in Hong Kong that are standing up against China. And they're saying, no, we are not part of this.
00:20:07.660 You're not just disappearing people at night. Now this is getting news, but are we really
00:20:16.200 even supporting them? I want to play a clip. These are protesters that built the statue of
00:20:23.740 Liberty in Hong Kong as part of the protest. They built the statue of Liberty and here's what
00:20:31.760 they did last night. Oh, the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming. Standing with
00:20:41.340 American flags.
00:20:42.920 And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air. Gave proof through the night that
00:20:53.920 our flag was still there. Oh, say does the star sprinkle the nighed way. Oh, the land of the
00:21:08.920 country. And the home of the brave. Now, if you see this picture, you will be confused
00:21:21.440 because they are dressed in a way like Antifa. They're wearing masks. And they look like they're
00:21:28.740 ready to do battle. And they're holding American flags. What? Those are people who are fighting
00:21:37.980 for freedom against real totalitarianism, against real fascism, against communism.
00:21:48.280 And they are doing it to appeal to you. They are holding that flag, something that many people
00:21:57.120 in the NFL wouldn't do. They are holding the flag and respectfully singing the words in English
00:22:05.260 of our national anthem. They are trying to say, America, wake up. Now, why do they need
00:22:13.940 us? Well, because they don't have a right to bear arms. They don't have a, they don't have
00:22:22.660 a way to fight the army. Oh, you're going to fight the Chinese? Well, yeah. Yeah. I'm going
00:22:30.440 to give it a, I'm going to give it a good old college try. You know, it seems to be working
00:22:37.480 for those in the Middle East who are fighting the world's most powerful army. And when it's
00:22:44.700 your own homeland and it's your freedom, yeah, I think you can, I think you can best a powerful
00:22:52.620 military. There's videos all over social media of Chinese military vehicles, seemingly in large
00:23:03.420 numbers entering this area. And these people are going to be slaughtered and disappeared.
00:23:08.780 Oh man. I mean, this is, you know, this is not just some random look. I mean, I don't want to
00:23:12.700 downplay it. If it is some random city somewhere, life is life. But this is a massive financial center
00:23:18.420 for the globe. It's Hong Kong. This is it, man. I mean, and they have had this weird relationship
00:23:23.900 with China in which they are, they're in China. They're part of China, but China kind of just lets
00:23:29.620 them do their own thing largely. But they don't have to anymore. Who's going to stand up against
00:23:35.320 China? Who's going to stand up against China? Who is willing to say the truth? China is an evil
00:23:44.840 empire. China is enslaving people. China red flags people. Right now, China has a system to where
00:23:57.900 you're red flagged by someone. You go away for psychiatric care. You go away to a concentration
00:24:05.400 camp where you're just reeducated. It's no big deal. It's not a concentration camp. No, that's the wrong
00:24:12.960 word. Millions of people. And what are we doing? What is the, what is the place that has the
00:24:23.820 Statue of Liberty that those people are building a replica of, holding up our flag, singing our
00:24:33.120 national anthem, appealing to us? What are we doing? We're talking about imposing our own
00:24:40.140 red flags. We're talking now about putting in red, a red flag system that would mark you as trouble.
00:24:53.580 And if you're trouble, well, gosh, that's kind of a problem for you. You're going to have to prove
00:25:00.900 that you're not trouble. This is taking our country upside down. And you know, who's, you know,
00:25:11.480 who's, who's going to benefit the most from it? Who's going to be behind it? Doctors, doctors,
00:25:22.300 psychiatrists. You've already heard the rhetoric that people on the right are insane. They're not in
00:25:28.740 their right mind. You've already heard that being a conservative is some sort of a psychological
00:25:36.100 disorder. From the same people who are telling us that there is no gender, that a man can have a
00:25:45.780 period. They're going to tell us we're insane. They're going to be the judge of us. Really?
00:25:56.600 And you're okay with this. I don't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat or an independent. I don't
00:26:05.520 care if you hate Donald Trump or love Donald Trump. This should terrify every single American.
00:26:14.960 Now we really don't know because the records are still secret, but in 1978, at least 4.5 million
00:26:26.980 Soviet citizens were listed as having mental health problem. 4.5 million citizens. Now what happened to
00:26:35.960 those 4.5 million citizens? Well, right before the wall came down, perhaps because they realized,
00:26:43.100 oh crap, maybe we'll go through Nuremberg trials, which they never did. We're going to release 800,000
00:26:50.180 of them. Millions of people were falsely diagnosed with a mental illness because they didn't agree
00:27:03.140 with Marxism. Cuba did the same thing. Evidence now that China is still doing it. And on the scale
00:27:12.460 of the former Soviet Union and the World Psychiatric Association, yeah, they're pretty much
00:27:20.660 ignoring it. They said that people associated with Fulongong are nuts and putting them in asylums run by
00:27:30.200 the state security apparatus is normal. It happened here in America in the 1920s.
00:27:41.280 If you were deemed a dissident, like one who protested the trial of Sacco and Vicente, who I think were
00:27:50.560 terrorists. I know the left loves to hold these guys up at freedom fighters, but they were anything
00:27:55.800 but. They were terrorists. But if you stood up and had a different point of view in the 1920s,
00:28:02.560 you were put into an asylum. In the 1960s, members of the American Psychological Association
00:28:12.380 smeared presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. They said he was crazy.
00:28:18.040 But that had nothing to do with politics, right?
00:28:29.440 Did you know that Dinesh D'Souza, you know that he went to jail for a crime that Rosie O'Donnell
00:28:37.120 committed and said she knew she was committing. She didn't go to jail. He went to jail. But did
00:28:45.200 you know that the federal judge that sentenced D'Souza to prison, not only sentenced him to
00:28:51.780 prison, but two years of mental health counseling, despite the fact that a licensed psychologist
00:28:59.420 said he's fine mentally. But there must be something wrong with him.
00:29:06.780 Are we truly thinking about giving the power to claim somebody is dangerous and having the
00:29:25.480 burden of proof fall on them after we have acted? So they are guilty until proven not crazy?
00:29:34.260 By the way, when you look at professions with a high suicide rate, dentists, I think, are number
00:29:46.460 one. Real high up on the list, psychiatrists. Do they have mental issues? Are they stable enough?
00:30:01.100 By the way, the red flag laws. The red flag laws that we're talking about have been used
00:30:11.740 in the past and are being considered today to to make sure that we we take away some rights
00:30:20.480 from people who believe in conspiracy theories.
00:30:23.220 How many of how many of how many of how many of our children, how many of how many Americans
00:30:30.440 got online and joined in to the Area 51 conspiracy theory because it was funny?
00:30:40.120 If you went online, you are now registered as somebody who could be a danger to fellow Americans
00:30:52.140 and the country. We're talking now, we already are taking people out of jobs that made some crazy
00:31:00.960 comment online at 16. What is what if you or your kids went online and thought it was funny and started
00:31:09.760 to say, yeah, you know what, Area 51, we should storm it? Do you really think that you're not
00:31:17.540 on a list? Do you really think if you have the wrong political view? And we're in a system
00:31:27.220 of red flags, you're ever going to be able to purchase a gun?
00:31:45.220 So you don't believe in you don't believe in socialism? Well, that could be a mental disorder.
00:31:51.820 You've visited sites that are deemed inappropriate or dangerous. Well, you could be dangerous and
00:32:03.320 that's a red flag. What happens if you believe in a conspiracy theory or you are you have spread
00:32:12.620 that conspiracy theory? You're on record. Well, let's just look at this week. Let's look at
00:32:19.620 Epstein. Let's start with Joe Scarborough. Should he have a gun?
00:32:28.020 Now, the odds are that, yeah, he'll be able to get a gun because he's on the left and the left
00:32:35.780 will be the ones that decide. But Joe, Joe Scarborough said the Epstein suicide is a Russian
00:32:43.340 hit. He not only suggested there was foul play, he also insinuated something about Donald Trump's
00:32:49.740 connections to Epstein and Russia, saying that his death looked predictably Russian. Now,
00:32:57.300 that's a conspiracy theory. If you heard that and you liked it or posted it to your fake Facebook
00:33:04.740 page, you could be red flagged. If you said, even in jest, I mean, we were joking yesterday.
00:33:13.700 You know, I'm, I'm willing to, I'm perfectly willing to consider that Bill and Hillary Clinton
00:33:18.660 didn't, didn't kill Epstein. Okay. That's a conspiracy theory. You could be red flagged for that
00:33:28.020 because that's dangerous. That is sowing distrust. Now think of somebody who has a differing point of
00:33:38.280 view and the power of red flags. It can be a total stranger. I, um, I'm reading this, this great book
00:33:50.080 started last night. I'm about a third of the way through. You have to, you have to pick it up. It is
00:33:55.320 great. It's a story I've never heard of. It's called the volunteer came out a couple of weeks
00:34:00.860 ago and it's a story that has been buried and has popped through a couple of times in history. But
00:34:07.960 this is the first time that anybody's really done research. And it's a guy in Poland who has, uh,
00:34:15.080 who volunteered to go into Auschwitz and see if he could start an uprising. He volunteered to go to
00:34:23.420 Auschwitz. I mean, it's a crazy story, crazy, crazy story. In the beginning of the book, it talks
00:34:31.060 about, he was part of the underground and what he would do is he would have people tip off that he
00:34:36.940 would figure out who was tipping off the Nazis, who was ratting out the underground. And they were all
00:34:44.780 gathered at this club. And so they were working at this club. And so what he would do is he would,
00:34:49.420 he would, um, work in an office across the street from this club and he would take pictures of
00:34:55.120 everybody going in and he would piece it together. And then he would take the guys who were betraying
00:35:01.420 the polls and he would have somebody tip off the Gestapo that that guy is working with the underground.
00:35:08.560 So all these people were red flagged. They were actually on the side of the Nazis,
00:35:14.520 red flags have been done before. They're always done in places like China, like the former Soviet
00:35:30.800 Union, like Cuba, and in our worst times here in America. Let's learn from history and not repeat
00:35:43.300 our mistakes. You need to send the message to the GOP and Donald Trump. No red flags. None of this
00:35:51.880 stuff is acceptable. The second amendment must stand. You want to know why? Look to the people in Hong Kong
00:36:00.720 today. You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:36:19.140 Hi, it's Glenn. If you're a subscriber to the podcast, can you do us a favor and rate us on iTunes?
00:36:25.060 If you're not a subscriber, become one today and listen on your own time. You can subscribe on iTunes.
00:36:30.720 Thanks. So last week, uh, some audio came out and it's the best ever. Yeah. Uh, it really is
00:36:39.260 amazing. Uh, there's an organization, Young Americans Against Socialism, and they're the
00:36:44.440 ones at least that pointed this, this audio out to me on, on, on the Twitters, on the Twitters.
00:36:49.220 This is amazing because we've seen so many times these examples, particularly colleges where you'd see
00:36:54.800 students complaining about the most minor things, calling them microaggressions, saying they've been
00:37:00.520 triggered and targeted and going into their safe space and their quiet room and all that stuff. And
00:37:04.760 you see articles about it and it's laughable, but we've never, I feel like I've never seen it in
00:37:11.220 action before. And this is not a college. This is an actual, this is the convention for the
00:37:17.380 democratic socialists of America. This is the group that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a card
00:37:22.840 carrying member of. I think two of the squad members are actually card carrying members. I
00:37:27.120 think, is it to leave or Presley? I think it's Presley. Yeah. It's either, it's either George
00:37:32.320 Harrison or Ringo of the squad is also. We don't know that much about it. I don't know that much
00:37:36.640 about it. Like they did something at some point, but listen to some of this audio and tell me
00:37:41.240 if you can see the future of America encapsulated right here, a quick point of privilege, quick
00:37:49.800 personal privilege, um, guys, uh, first of all, James Jackson, Sacramento, he, him. I just want to
00:37:56.000 say, can we please keep the chatter to a minimum? I'm one of the people who's very, very prone to
00:38:00.260 sensory overload. There's a lot of whispering and chatter going on. It's making it very difficult for
00:38:04.180 me to focus. Please. Can we just, I know it's, we're all fresh and ready to go, but can we please
00:38:08.420 just keep the chatter to a minimum? It's affecting my ability to focus. Thank you. Thank you, comrade.
00:38:12.960 Okay. Is there a speaker against name, chapter, pronoun? Point of personal privilege. Yes. Please
00:38:19.420 do not use gendered language to, to address everyone. I love that guy. Okay. Okay. Uh, do you notice
00:38:29.980 the he, him thing too? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hi, I'm, uh, I'm Stubergear. He, him. Like you need to
00:38:34.960 shut up. Like why is that part of your name now? Every time you say something, you have to
00:38:40.500 say what pronoun people need to call you. I mean, if you just gave the name, why don't they just call
00:38:45.300 you by your name? So here's the, I mean, if you think that some of these people in a real socialist,
00:38:52.020 an actual socialist nation wouldn't end up at the pointy end of a gun, right? You're crazy. Of course.
00:38:59.800 The good thing though, is that if these people do invade, if we just whisper long enough,
00:39:03.460 they'll all be distracted and we won't be able to continue the invasion. So Morgan
00:39:07.300 Zeggers, Morgan is, uh, is somebody she's, she's been named a rising star of the New York
00:39:13.240 GOP. Do you want to just call her she, her, if you would? Yeah. Okay. Thank you. Um, and
00:39:17.840 she actually a very well funded, um, uh, state assembly, um, man or, uh, him, her, watch
00:39:27.920 it, watch it assembly. It, uh, was, was almost, was almost beaten, uh, by her. She's 21 years
00:39:38.860 old. She is truly a rising star and she is the co-founder and CEO of, um, uh, young Americans
00:39:46.680 against socialism. And she's with us now. Hello, Morgan.
00:39:50.700 Hey guys. How are you? Thanks for having me.
00:39:52.600 Very good. Very good. Thanks for turning us onto that, uh, that video. It's I think
00:39:57.180 hysterical. Um, so most people, Morgan, um, who are my age know exactly what socialism
00:40:04.320 is. Um, however, millennials have missed the lessons. And so you are launching a website,
00:40:12.340 I think on Thursday, are you not?
00:40:15.080 Yes, we launch on Thursday.
00:40:16.600 Okay. Tell me about it.
00:40:17.880 So young Americans against socialism, it's a nonpartisan 501 C three nonprofit. And we
00:40:25.020 are dedicated to exposing the truth about socialism to young Americans because we believe that
00:40:30.160 those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And that's exactly the case with
00:40:34.440 my generation. They were not taught the dangers and the failures of socialism. And now 50% or
00:40:40.300 more of young Americans would choose socialism over capitalism. And that is destructive and
00:40:45.500 puts the future of the country at risk. So how are you, how are you expecting to
00:40:50.040 break through on this? Like, what are you going to be featuring on the website?
00:40:54.760 Exactly. So we travel the country and film the stories of people who have escaped from the hell
00:41:00.400 of socialism. And we do it because the left is so good at emotion and the right conservatives,
00:41:05.760 people who advocate for freedom and opportunity, we're not the best at it. And so young Americans
00:41:10.620 against socialism is adding emotion to the playbook. We take these emotional, powerful stories of
00:41:15.300 people who escaped from Venezuela, from Cuba, from the USSR. It's really, really some scary,
00:41:20.940 passionate stuff that they tell to the screen. And we turn them into very short social media videos.
00:41:26.120 And because 90% of young Americans are on social media, we have the opportunity to put these videos
00:41:31.560 in front of almost everybody in this generation and show them what's going to happen if we let
00:41:37.140 socialism in the United States. That's the power of social media, and we're going to harness it.
00:41:41.040 Morgan, let me just play devil's advocate here. What the response will be is, well,
00:41:45.920 those weren't really socialists. We're talking about Sweden. No, that's not what the kind of
00:41:50.880 socialism we're talking about.
00:41:53.060 Exactly. And we break that down in shorter videos. We're talking about all the issues. We're talking
00:41:57.860 about personal stories. And usually, you know this, I'm sure, they start out by saying, oh, we're not
00:42:02.680 socialists. We're democratic socialists.
00:42:04.540 Yeah, I know.
00:42:04.980 So then you could say, okay, well, Venezuela was a democratic socialist country then. It was a
00:42:08.820 democracy, elected socialist. And then the country went from a democracy into a socialist dictatorship
00:42:14.240 with people starving in the streets. But then, what did they say after that? They go, oh, we weren't
00:42:18.240 talking about Venezuela. We were talking about Nordic European socialism. So then you have to break down
00:42:23.200 how Sweden tried it. From the 1970s to 1990s, they tried socialism, and it failed. And now they know
00:42:29.620 they can't pay for those big government programs without the wealth created from capitalism.
00:42:34.680 And those weren't even really socialist countries. They had a lot of socialist trappings. But that's
00:42:40.260 not what democratic socialists are really talking about. They are talking about top-down control of
00:42:47.260 everything.
00:42:48.920 Exactly. And that's why it's so important that we educate our generation, because the far left in
00:42:53.360 this country is aware that our generation does not know the truth about it. And they are preying on
00:42:58.320 that. They are using it to their advantage. That's why you hear people like Senator Sanders
00:43:01.860 and Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez using it to their advantage and saying, oh, no, if we get rid of
00:43:07.180 socialism, or if we get rid of capitalism, we scrap that because it's not working. And we get
00:43:11.280 socialism, we'll end up like Sweden. And that's why people our age are like, sweet. Sounds good to me.
00:43:16.360 I want free stuff. Everybody looks so happy in Europe. It's just very surface level. And we are going
00:43:21.580 to dig deep into that and prove them wrong.
00:43:26.040 Thank you for being on the program. What kind of money do you have backing this?
00:43:33.780 So we are going to be funded mostly with people across the United States, small dollar donors who
00:43:39.600 care about the future of this country, and they want to preserve it. That's why our logo is a torch.
00:43:44.020 It's actually the people who are in the older generations deserve to pass the torch to our generation
00:43:48.920 and know that the future of the country is in good hands. And right now, that's just not the case.
00:43:53.280 And so if anybody is interested in financially supporting us as we make these videos and show
00:43:57.280 our generation the truth before the country turns socialist, please go to our website. It's
00:44:01.580 yas.org, Y-A-A-S dot org.
00:44:05.240 Do you think that the younger generation, I mean, we've taken these two parties, both Republicans and
00:44:13.640 Democrats, and they're both piles of dog crap, in my opinion. And neither of them are really standing
00:44:22.800 for the Constitution and the free market. If they were, we wouldn't have the problem with the GOP we
00:44:29.800 have now with Obamacare. They would have opened it up for the free market. So we don't even really
00:44:38.480 have a torchbearer on the right in in the GOP. Do you believe there's an appetite on the Democratic
00:44:47.960 side? I mean, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are number two and three in the latest polls on
00:44:55.420 what the Democrats are looking for in a president. Do you believe there's an appetite with the
00:45:00.740 Democrats?
00:45:02.380 Well, I think that's where that idea that Twitter isn't real life comes into play. You see a lot of
00:45:07.720 the most radical people on both sides of the aisle come together on social media and rant at each
00:45:12.860 other. But the most important thing to remember is that not a lot of people are paying attention to
00:45:16.840 this, and they could be easily tricked by the far left. That's why we come in. We're not going to
00:45:21.400 convince people who are passionate Che Guevara t-shirt wearers. We're probably not going to convince
00:45:25.800 them. I mean, those people wear them to pride parades. It's crazy. And Che Guevara killed gay people
00:45:31.040 and put them into prison work camps. So they're kind of lost. But we are going to find the average
00:45:36.640 Americans who could easily be tricked by seeing AOC talking on Twitter about how capitalism isn't
00:45:41.900 fair and how our lives would be better if we were like Europe. That's the kind of audience that we
00:45:46.680 are targeting. And we have major potential to reach them and show them that opportunity, freedom,
00:45:51.200 capitalism has led to more opportunity for anybody in the world than socialism ever will.
00:45:56.100 Well, we will help you in any way we can with your launch on Thursday at YAAS.org, Young Americans
00:46:04.140 Against Socialism. And I urge anybody in the audience, if you are looking to put your money in a place where
00:46:12.380 you can fight for freedom, we must reach the millennials and those below the millennials. We
00:46:19.280 cannot afford to lose another generation like we've lost the millennials. They must be educated
00:46:25.420 on socialism. And the best ones to reach them are the people in their own age group. And that's what
00:46:32.080 Morgan has put together. So please check it out. And if you have the money that you can help,
00:46:39.420 help them at YAAS.org. Thank you so much, Morgan. Appreciate it.
00:46:44.460 The Blaze Radio Network. On demand.
