00:00:00.000 all right welcome to the podcast it's our last show of 2020 ah we've reached the end almost we'll

00:00:06.320 see if the whole world blows up before the end of the year uh today is great show uh we have bill

00:00:11.220 o'reilly joining us to kind of go over a final news review of the year uh we have pat gray on

00:00:17.580 with his typical holiday cheer exactly what you'd expect uh from pat uh and uh we have uh tommy

00:00:25.120 vex on as well a really cool story about how he's uh come along from uh the the left of the side of

00:00:32.040 things to uh the right side of things and and his transformation story is really interesting as

00:00:36.820 well i think you'll like it uh make sure you go to um glennbeckmerch.com if you want to pick up a

00:00:41.080 last minute christmas gift or stewdoesmerch.com is there as well i think you'll uh like a lot of the

00:00:46.240 ridiculous nonsense that we have and i always think there's a great path for a last minute christmas

00:00:50.800 gift when you realize you didn't get the person anything you could just go to the website buy the 0.82

00:00:56.940 thing get it shipped and then just print out a picture of it and put it in a card then it'll look

00:01:01.180 like you thought about it and we screwed it up we'll take responsibility we'll tell you hey i'm so

00:01:06.360 sorry we screwed up the shipping it's our fault we'll take full responsibility blame us uh glennbeckmerch.com

00:01:12.860 here's the podcast you're listening to the best of the glennbeck program

00:01:24.220 do we have the connection up i didn't expect this i didn't think we would actually get this but we

00:01:34.100 are we now have a uh live satellite connection i don't even know how good it is there may be some

00:01:41.500 delay uh to the uh north pole we go now to i don't know who we're even speaking to who is this

00:01:49.660 hello yes hey can you hear me merry christmas

00:01:56.240 ah it's an elf yeah it's good to talk to you are you excited about christmas this year little boy

00:02:04.140 well i'm not a little boy but uh yeah i am i and it's sorry are you excited for christmas this

00:02:11.500 year overweight old man i mean i don't think that was necessary but yes and it's talking to a happy

00:02:19.300 elf you know kind of makes things even better well i hope you enjoy this christmas because it's the last 0.99

00:02:26.020 one excuse excuse me it's the last one i'm tired of this crap over and over again this fat guy keeps 0.81

00:02:39.660 telling us what to do all year and basically keeps us in indentured servitude and what do we do we sit 0.96

00:02:49.440 here and we serve and we serve and we serve we get paid jack and then i have to make toys for your 0.99

00:02:57.820 stupid snot nose kids i'm sick of it uh is there another elf i can talk to oh oh am i am i bringing 0.99

00:03:08.840 too much truth is that what i'm doing instead of bringing more crappy stuff that we actually bought 1.00

00:03:13.860 in china and i didn't even make wait in your stockings instead i'm bringing some truth okay that's

00:03:18.780 what i'm doing okay um you seem like an unhappy elf or i mean is there a happy elf i can first of

00:03:30.140 all i don't even know your name uh is it like jingle or jangle carl

00:03:36.860 you're carl carl the elf yeah okay is there a is there like a supervisor right every year we have

00:03:48.440 is there a supervisor i can i'm sick of the media i just i can hear you carl what hey happy christmas

00:03:57.720 yeah yeah uh is there like a supervisor i can talk to or somebody you need a supervisor do you

00:04:04.820 maybe instead we'll give you our new elephant representative we just elected her uh well 0.99

00:04:10.520 technically we elected some really old guy who says he's a moderate but in reality we reelected

00:04:16.620 uh a socialist basically that's going to step in in a few months you want to talk to her 0.99

00:04:23.100 well well that sounds familiar uh uh yeah could i talk to her no is she uh is she around no you can't

00:04:31.900 she's not around no no no not at all no because you are sitting here in judgment of us uh in the

00:04:39.980 north pole we see how you look at us because we're minorities we might be a slightly different

00:04:46.060 size uh and you have to continually point out that we're not normal we're different than you

00:04:53.780 well i'll tell you what uh we just built a north pole autonomous zone and our rules apply here

00:05:00.100 your rules apply so what what what what exactly are your rules this by the way this is not turning 0.95

00:05:08.440 into the the christmas interview we hope rule one you come near us we shoot you

00:05:14.080 it is is santa around could we speak to santa no santa is not around in fact there's gonna be no

00:05:23.840 christmas toys this year get used to it boys and girls here's what happened last year we usually are

00:05:29.380 stocking we get the stockings out we're stuffing the stockings this year we were stuffing ballot

00:05:34.020 boxes this is this is how i know that there was election fraud this year because there's no way

00:05:39.800 donald trump got that many votes we were flying around the earth picking up all the votes for trump

00:05:45.200 and bringing them back here and lighting them on fire hold hold it just a second you so there is

00:05:53.500 election fraud you say trump didn't get as many votes yeah he was probably working with the russians

00:06:02.960 or something on it i don't know i always saw it on cnn and the point is that i know for a fact we were

00:06:08.880 taking out santa slate the reindeer super liberal and we were taking they were happy to do this they

00:06:15.620 flew us around the earth we went in through all these little ballot box locations we took them back

00:06:20.420 a christmas fire needed to be built anyway why not build it with trump ballots

00:06:24.360 okay but was santa involved with it does he know that you were taking the reindeer out and well 0.97

00:06:34.420 santa mantle he's really kind of a he's a judgmental bastard frankly but he is at least pretty much a 0.71

00:06:41.580 socialist i mean we're giving away stuff all the time so he's kind of on board with it bottom line is 0.95

00:06:47.080 he's still white so we're gonna get rid of him soon uh okay yeah there's nobody else i can well 1.00

00:06:56.300 is there anyone else now well i could get you could talk to my new girlfriend her name's fang fang 0.99

00:07:03.240 i gotta i gotta be even really receptive to my advances which is odd most women are not interested 1.00

00:07:15.380 in me but fang fang's all in it's interesting i'm an elf and i'm still bigger than her last boyfriend

00:07:23.460 okay carl we're the only ones okay up here at the north pole that are better at spying on americans

00:07:40.680 than the chinese so this whole thing works out well all right thank you thank you thank you carl carl the

00:07:48.840 elf from the north pole wow uh oh it's not a completely surprising fact about eric swalwell that

00:08:04.380 we learned there towards the end the elves are taller taller or bigger

00:08:11.340 oh christmas cheer good good i'm glad we have some christmas cheer this year

00:08:18.900 yeah uh by the way did you see uh did you see did you see the uh uh the uh poon fang dossier letter

00:08:32.720 the what now the fang fang hmm uh i found this on american greatness uh and it's a letter from

00:08:42.720 fang fang to the ministry of state security of china uh it says uh party comrades the american

00:08:52.100 website exios has published an extensive essay on our espionage operations in the united states

00:08:59.020 according to the essay a chinese national name fang fang or christine fang you know

00:09:05.980 it's like i guess it's better not to have two fangs yeah i like that it's like when you call a uh a call

00:09:16.740 center for customer service and it's like my name is richard fang it's like she's either she was

00:09:24.740 fang fang and she's like no it's christine fang do you believe that eric no the problem is the word

00:09:33.360 fang if you got fang in your name you should change it anyway uh uh so the christine fang targeted up 0.97

00:09:43.220 and coming local politicians in the bay area and across the country who had the potential to make

00:09:48.160 it big on the national stage well it was swalwell that's a different story since american media have

00:09:54.040 picked up on the story i want to set the record straight i indeed did operate as the article

00:09:59.120 explains and my primary target was eric swalwell formerly a low-level prosecutor city councilman

00:10:06.580 and a man of vast ambition who in fact ran for president united states i was able to access his

00:10:13.140 organization and help him raise money for his 2014 run for congress for the source of these funds and

00:10:19.680 how they were laundered i'll refer you to the ministry of state security file to my great delight

00:10:26.280 house speaker nancy pelosi put representative swalwell on the house intelligence committee 0.85

00:10:32.140 where he enjoys access to the most most sensitive secret information i'll refer you again to the

00:10:39.160 classified files concerning our access to this information but be assured that representative swalwell

00:10:45.640 was one of our greatest victories as you know swalwell was one of the loudest voices against our main enemy

00:10:53.840 donald trump accusing him of crimes with no evidence whatsoever on the other hand swalwell has faithfully

00:11:01.040 repeated our propaganda practically word for word and i find no case where he openly disagrees with our

00:11:08.480 position criticizing our human rights record never never has he spoken a word

00:11:15.000 swalwell has been silent about the sexual relations we indulged in but let me clarify the man holds a vast

00:11:23.500 conceit of himself so as the americans say getting next to him was easy swalwell wanted to perform

00:11:31.740 several acts not fully covered in my original training yes they were very distasteful not to say

00:11:39.300 not to say uh uncomfortable as well but on the political side of the american uh the american was

00:11:47.540 uh soon doing everything i wanted the various american mayors i i courted were easier conquests and in time

00:11:55.900 they also might yield considerable benefits as the article pointed out the american federal bureau of

00:12:03.440 investigation gave swalwell a defensive briefing in 2015 but that was long after i safely returned to our

00:12:10.900 homeland swalwell remains on the intelligence committee where he serves as a valuable asset he blamed the

00:12:19.100 axios report on president trump which made all of us at the ministry uh laugh really hard as i note here in my

00:12:27.440 report fbi gave a similar briefing to diane feinstein uh but not before one of our agents had been on her

00:12:36.360 staff for 20 years sometimes attending consular functions on the senator's behalf so far they have not been

00:12:46.500 disciplined as my report recalls the communist party was the creation of the soviet russians in the united

00:12:54.900 states and uh they ran candidates in american elections from 1920 to 1984 when gus hall and angela davis

00:13:03.120 served as the cpus a candidates the prc needs no such operation as the democratic party is serving our

00:13:11.580 purpose as well i had no direct role in operations uh during the american election which has uh hunter

00:13:18.760 uh biden's father uh he positioned to occupy the white house he did enough for us i agree with the

00:13:26.840 ministry leadership that president biden stands to be our biggest asset as we strive to expand our already

00:13:33.400 considerable influence and to that end i may refer party comrades to my full report for possible mss

00:13:42.200 operations under the biden administration our ultimate victory is just ahead uh and our schedule

00:13:50.520 is ahead as well and virtually assured respectfully fang fang

00:13:56.420 it is amazing when you look at this and you couldn't write it no one would believe it and

00:14:08.980 the part that is so unbelievable is the new york times still has not found any of this news fit to

00:14:17.560 print how's that possible they they spent years telling us that uh any kind of foreign influence would be

00:14:27.880 just disastrous oh my gosh did you see what he did with russia china how is this china news not news

00:14:37.000 to the new york times oh i'm sorry that was a rhetorical question you didn't really actually

00:14:44.240 start to answer that did you i'm sorry we all know the answer to that the best of the glenn beck program

00:14:52.600 kind of like disneyland is the happiest place on earth this holiday season i have to just tell you

00:15:04.280 and remind you really bill o'reilly the happiest person on earth hello bill o'reilly i fell down

00:15:12.120 twice on the ice this morning i'm not the happiest guy

00:15:15.440 twice because the terror was pulling the leash all right yeah i'm lucky i'm not in traction here

00:15:25.620 uh but here's a happy note deck here's a happy note i want to thank you and stew for giving

00:15:33.360 killing crazy horse to all your friends as christmas gifts that was very very nice of you to do you're

00:15:40.440 welcome oh i didn't know that you would recognize that i bought an extra book for all of my friends

00:15:47.180 you know i should say i bought a book for all of my friends from number 20 to number 10 i called them

00:15:54.000 and they said hey beck just ordered a whole bunch of killing i know horses and i i did it's a great

00:15:59.540 it would be a great christmas gift not as good as some of my books but it would be a great christmas

00:16:05.180 gift well you're killing crazy horse now i wouldn't recommend that but i mean there might be some people

00:16:13.140 out there uh so so bill i want to take i want to take you first tell me the events of the week

00:16:19.840 donald trump let's start there where are we uh a message of the day on billoreilly.com and i told

00:16:30.380 everybody that the president is very uncharacteristically isolating himself so he had a

00:16:39.440 couple of parties at the white house for the big fat cat donors he didn't even show up to those parties

00:16:44.500 um i understand from people who do this every day that you know he's a little withdrawn and i

00:16:52.260 understand uh he believes that the culmination of five years um in a dubious election um and he

00:17:02.080 believes that uh he got hosed every every way you could get hosed and that's his frame of mind going

00:17:07.940 into the christmas week i was there uh last friday with my daughter at the christmas party we were

00:17:15.820 actually in the west wing um before the party started and uh uh caught a glimpse uh of the

00:17:23.540 president in the oval with uh mike pence and meadows uh as he was being uh briefed uh on the supreme court

00:17:31.820 it it didn't go well it didn't go well no as you could imagine you know and he's a pretty

00:17:37.800 resilient guy i'd known him you know for 30 years and and you know he bounces back pretty well but i

00:17:45.560 think this has really shaken him because he sincerely believes that he won the election that's not you

00:17:53.080 know posturing or he doesn't have any self-doubt he believes that he won it and that it was taken

00:17:59.240 from him by these forces who for five years tried to destroy him so let me let me be very

00:18:07.760 careful on what i say here um i believe that as well but i haven't seen the evidence to back that up

00:18:18.920 in a way that would be would would transform things you know there there hasn't been knockout punches

00:18:25.480 there's been some some things revealed but it hasn't uh so far it it always seems like okay well

00:18:35.040 that's a good point and i see that and that might be but is it so i believe that he did win the

00:18:44.140 election if it was if it was honest i just don't think it was honest yeah i know i don't say to my

00:18:51.880 listeners and viewers that donald trump won the election i don't do that because it's impossible

00:19:00.580 to ascertain the level of corruption we know there was corruption that is a fact but we don't know

00:19:11.480 the level however here is the salient statistic in three states i think it's nevada wisconsin

00:19:21.520 and michigan no not michigan nevada wisconsin and georgia there you go donald trump lost those three

00:19:31.060 states by a combined 44 000 votes had he gotten those electoral votes the whole thing would have been

00:19:42.540 different so that's not a lot of votes and you can i know and level you can and if you look at

00:19:52.480 what was that well i was going to say it isn't a lot of votes and between the dead people and uh the

00:20:02.120 illegals in arizona you very very very durable doable last night on uh the no spin news on bill

00:20:11.880 riley.com we had a guest in las vegas who said in the state of nevada they give driver's licenses

00:20:18.980 to undocumented people and once you get a driver's license in nevada you can request to be registered

00:20:29.380 to vote and they'll they'll do it even if you're not a citizen in nevada now we try to check this out

00:20:36.780 it's murky but it's absolutely possible that happened at a pretty grand scale

00:20:43.620 now right illegal undocumented people are being allowed to vote in california and arizona and

00:20:50.840 nevada who are they going to vote for a guy building a wall who's tough on illegal immigration

00:20:58.960 or a guy like biden who's going to give undocumented people free health care who are you

00:21:06.360 going to vote for so right this these things add up but what has to happen now is a special counsel

00:21:14.540 we talked about this last week that has to do forensics on the questionable voting machines

00:21:20.520 and has to analyze the mail-in votes in a very precise mathematical way to say listen

00:21:27.160 in detroit maybe 10 voted for donald trump and 90 voted for joe biden mail-in but in the next

00:21:36.740 county over which is demographically pretty similar to detroit it was 70 30 or whatever it is so you

00:21:45.420 could prove that there was an anomaly word of the day anomaly correct in various places so so you're

00:21:54.260 never you're never going to be able to overturn an election the spring court will never do it

00:21:59.380 based upon affidavits and anecdotes you need to have a hard core forensic and analytical investigation

00:22:08.820 and that takes time i i agree with you i i think the problem with this case is you can't you can't

00:22:18.380 prove your case fast enough um but i i i believe and i talked to rudy giuliani about this yesterday

00:22:26.060 if you will uh if he'll appoint a special counsel um right now because biden's not going to do it

00:22:35.540 but if that's right ronald trump appoints a special counsel it may take a year he can't do it because the

00:22:44.340 president can't appoint a special counsel it has to be done by the attorney general so the new attorney

00:22:49.600 general well bar could do it bar's got four more days all right he could do bar bar is a waste of

00:22:58.400 skin if he has if he won't do this what has that guy done what has he done i'm screaming at the top of

00:23:08.360 my lungs and here's what else i screamed joe biden should be calling for this every local american

00:23:17.720 should want to know if there was cheating in a presidential election everybody it doesn't matter

00:23:26.340 who won or lost we've got to have when it came to the integrity and our when it went when it came to

00:23:34.100 the uh when it came to looking into joe uh to uh uh donald trump with russia and ukraine

00:23:41.180 i'm all for it let's look into it but let's actually look at the facts when we started doing our

00:23:48.300 own investigation and found the facts there wasn't anyone who wanted a trial in the senate where you're

00:23:54.000 calling witnesses more than me i want it if you're innocent of those things you want the trial

00:24:02.480 give it to me give it to me i'm going to prove that it was you that did it not me if joe biden

00:24:11.600 it was is so convinced a special counsel because there is absolutely no way constitutionally once

00:24:19.560 he is sworn in as president there's nothing in the constitution that allows you to remove an

00:24:25.520 administration and go back to the old administration because of voter fraud it's not covered there's no

00:24:32.060 there's no trigger for that no you you're not he has nothing to lose out of there he's not going

00:24:37.700 to get out of there but you can put people in prison number one who did this and number two

00:24:47.380 maybe in four years we'll have an honest election wouldn't that be nice correct so yeah because i don't

00:24:54.480 trust the one we're going to get in georgia in four weeks yeah i don't know all i know is there are

00:25:00.860 literally thousands of poll watchers down there so you know it's going to be very very difficult to

00:25:08.520 cheat with all of those eyes down there but uh there there there's more there so far there's more

00:25:18.560 absentee ballots coming in than the uh presidential election the the absentee ballots are yeah in

00:25:26.920 georgia yep 1.2 million mail-ins were requested for this senatorial race 1.2 million and about 300

00:25:36.160 000 have showed up so all right what are you going to do if congress doesn't pass a national

00:25:44.380 fair election standards act which it won't as long as nancy pelosi is the speaker of the house 0.98

00:25:51.500 all right we're always going to have individual states screwing up always all right and that's

00:25:58.560 just look with all this high-tech stuff that we have now and all of the the change in our society

00:26:05.000 our government has not kept up with this back no we have blockchain we should there should be no

00:26:12.660 question no question with the technology that we have no question on the uh the validity of the vote

00:26:20.600 this is the best of the glenn beck program and we really want to thank you for listening

00:26:27.980 i want to introduce you to somebody uh tommy vexed he's the lead vocalist of bad wolves

00:26:41.500 uh co-host of deviant gentleman podcast he happened to be in dallas today uh and i wanted him on the

00:26:48.560 show and unfortunately i'm not there but he's at the studio tommy i have to tell you i i watched

00:26:53.660 one of your videos i don't remember what you were explaining but you're using um uh you're using pens

00:27:00.320 oh the hot marker video yeah yeah yeah yeah i instantly became a fan i thought this guy knows

00:27:09.760 how to uh break down an argument and make it so crystal clear that's that is a real skill

00:27:17.640 well the that the way that that happened was i was actually i was at my friend matt's house and he

00:27:24.480 has three daughters and they're they're young and and basically they were asking me what's going on

00:27:29.900 and so i i was like okay i'm like all right kids and he filmed it and then it went out and i was like

00:27:37.500 well there we go so it caused a bit of controversy for me yeah i bet it did i bet it did also a a fan of

00:27:47.380 the uh what was the cranberry song uh zombie that you you did the cover oh so great thank you thank you

00:27:53.420 anyway um i want to get you on i want to talk to you and we have only about eight minutes here so it's

00:28:00.020 gonna suck i'd love to have you back for a podcast you you text uh what earlier this week 0.79

00:28:07.880 there are no political parties anymore there's just insanity and patriots pick a side 0.96

00:28:16.700 yeah tell me about it well i mean it's it's uh you know my experience has been a similar experience

00:28:24.980 to many people uh over over the past five years i think a lot more over the course of 2020 and um

00:28:32.680 i think that i'm someone who i grew up identifying as democrat i was raised that oh we're poor so we're

00:28:39.420 democrat and uh you know rich people are republicans and that was kind of this ideology that

00:28:45.800 that i was taught as a kid and so that was just how i voted and that became the identity form of my

00:28:53.460 politics and then you know as i've gotten older and started to pay more attention you can see that

00:29:00.560 uh things have either things have changed or they were never the way that they were explained

00:29:05.980 uh to me in the first place and 2020 we've seen a lot of what's that which do you think it is

00:29:13.740 well i think that i think the extreme measures that the the democratic party has gone to kind of

00:29:23.300 institute totalitarianist government lockdowns and the fear-mongering of the media and you know it's

00:29:31.640 pushed everyone from from people who are liberal to the you know to moderates to libertarians all pushed

00:29:41.140 everyone to the right end of the pool like i said on on uh i was saying this the other day it was like

00:29:46.440 if you were in a long pool and in a public pool and and the democrats somebody pooped in the in the

00:29:52.020 left side of the pool and everyone just came running to the right that's kind of what's happened you know

00:29:57.260 yeah it is and it is and it's what i think it comes from a fundamental misunderstanding

00:30:03.880 everybody tries to use the european scale left and right in america is not uh liberal and conservative

00:30:12.960 um it because over in europe it's either nazis or communists here in america the left and right scale

00:30:21.740 is total government zero government and the the farther you go to zero government you'll you know

00:30:31.720 you'll get into the democrats i mean sorry the republicans and then the libertarians and then

00:30:38.620 probably towards anarchy and the no government people you go the other way and it's people that

00:30:46.220 want more and more government you will find some of the republicans some of the many of the democrats

00:30:51.820 and then the communists and nazis that's that's the choice in america freedom or no i even think that

00:30:58.100 the radicals that want no government they seem to be have been weaponized by the left as well

00:31:04.520 that somehow yes i think antifa which is like anti-fascist but they believe in using fascist

00:31:10.200 techniques to back combat in a in imaginary fascism uh they're they're fighting on the side of the left

00:31:17.480 and i think one of the the most hilarious things that i've witnessed this year is you know the the riots

00:31:25.740 and the looting and all this stuff and people accusing trump of being a dictator and just the

00:31:31.080 the american privilege of not understanding that if you truly lived in a dictatorship the military

00:31:37.240 would just kill they would just fire on all of these civilians who are rioting and protesting and

00:31:42.780 that's you know people don't realize like i travel all over the world that's my job i'm nine months out of

00:31:49.440 a year i'm i'm traveling and about half that time is spent overseas and you can't do that you can't do

00:31:56.200 that in south america you can't do that in in in russia no they're not you know it's and and forget you

00:32:02.920 know forget about china but you know i don't want to say that i don't want to get a shadow man look at

00:32:08.780 just yeah look at just the the recent events in our lifetime from tianaman square to venezuela to

00:32:18.060 egypt running people over with the government tanks that's a dictatorship they don't care well yeah it's

00:32:26.940 i i also say too like if if you were in a dictatorship the the media is not allowed to

00:32:33.920 to uh talk ill about the standing dictator yeah so basically the mainstream media

00:32:43.320 is all the proof you need to understand that we do not live in a a communist dictatorship

00:32:51.340 under trump as the president and if we are not allowed to criticize joe biden if he winds up in the

00:32:58.500 white house which is still it's like this everything's still up in the air because there's so much

00:33:02.740 misinformation and and and the truth is so uh obfuscated if we're not allowed to criticize him

00:33:10.720 then you'll know where we're at yeah that is truly i don't understand what people are saying

00:33:17.500 uh we have freedom of speech but you have to shut up that's not freedom of speech that is

00:33:24.120 a dictatorship you can talk ill about one side and say nothing about the other when that has

00:33:31.660 complete control you're you're done as a nation you're you're living in california sorry for that

00:33:38.100 um which is a we had a good run which is a state yeah i know which is a state i've always wanted to

00:33:45.480 live live in i grew up in rainy seattle and i always wanted to live in southern california and uh just

00:33:54.220 i've had opportunity after opportunity can't bring myself to it because the regulations and everything

00:34:00.700 else is so anti-business but now there's something super special going on where they are just destroying

00:34:08.920 all businesses what is the feel in california because i i sense that there is a

00:34:15.940 uh there there's there's a a big uh collection of people both left and right traditionally as it

00:34:26.640 traditionally knows democrat and republican that are done with this and they're they're going to

00:34:31.700 stand up soon they're going to stand up they already are well yeah i mean it's already happening

00:34:37.000 where you know you see so i i lived in la for almost 14 years uh i ended up in venice uh where i always

00:34:45.180 wanted to live and you know in 2020 the riots happened they shot a police officer on my corner

00:34:51.260 a homeless lady defecated in front of my home that is not it's not a cheap place to live and i was like

00:34:57.820 yeah i'm done and i don't know why i'm holding on and a lot of people in the entertainment industry

00:35:02.500 are holding on to this idea you have to be in la and it's not true it's the rent is too high

00:35:08.960 the homeless they're not helping these people these people are either mentally ill they're addicts 0.86

00:35:15.160 they're down on their luck they need actual help and so uh it's it's you're you're you're basically

00:35:22.740 paying crazy property tax you know crazy income tax and then you you move to these neighborhoods that

00:35:29.980 are you know it's on the same street of google you got people shooting meth in front of the building

00:35:36.240 and it's you know so i don't know if i don't i don't know if you've seen anything about the

00:35:42.180 the drug laws in spain um but spain was having horrible horrible drug problems and they started

00:35:51.480 uh from from scratch and they said okay what we're doing clearly is not working so let's stop spending

00:35:59.820 money on trying to stop drugs from coming in let's end the drug war let's legalize everything

00:36:08.040 uh and then instead of spending all that money on a drug war let's go find the people that actually

00:36:15.400 want the help their their deaths from drug overdoses their problems from drugs have almost gone away

00:36:24.240 and it's it's remarkable we have a an opportunity in front of us to actually reset to some libertarian

00:36:34.360 values and give that a whirl but nobody's talking about that everybody's talking about bigger

00:36:39.300 government a bigger solution and we'll fix it globally well the government the government has

00:36:45.160 failed to do so you look and when you look at san francisco and you look at los angeles you know and

00:36:49.980 i myself i've been in recovery i've been sober for over 11 years and uh thanks and i and uh i don't

00:36:57.980 believe you deserve an award for running out of a burning building but it wasn't working out nobody

00:37:03.060 nobody gets into recovery on a winning streak but but i understand i understand addiction

00:37:08.660 alcoholism as defined as a disease and it'd be and it it's a health crisis we're dealing with an

00:37:15.280 opioid crisis in this country that people aren't talking about and more people have died in the past

00:37:21.160 three years of opioid overdose than the vietnam war casualties on both sides you know and so i was i was

00:37:28.260 actually a part of a film called snow babies that my record label released and it was uh we had a song

00:37:34.240 called sober on there that was the lead track and that movie really attacks the accessibility of opioids

00:37:42.000 to uh adolescents and and teens and how devastating it is for our children uh tommy i'm sorry we have to

00:37:52.380 cut this loose i i couldn't let you be in town and not have you on the show um but i uh i'd like to

00:37:58.620 invite you back for a podcast oh i'd love to spend an hour with you oh that'd be great your your backstory

00:38:05.340 is fascinating absolutely fascinating it's a whirlwind tommy thank you very much yeah thank you for
