00:00:00.000 What you're about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.
00:00:07.360 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:13.100 Money for nothing, the end of the American dream, the great reset, and we're all going to be so flippin' happy.
00:00:21.800 What could possibly go wrong?
00:00:24.240 It is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:27.160 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:35.140 It is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:37.140 Jeff Katz, so very happy to have been asked to fill in for a couple of days for Glenn.
00:00:43.560 I want to give you just a little bit of background.
00:00:45.760 You know, we're talking about what happens next, and we are so far from next.
00:00:53.380 I, like you, am a fan of Glenn's.
00:00:55.500 I listen on a daily basis, and, man, I've been terrified, as I've heard Glenn talk about this great reset.
00:01:03.880 Now, what could it possibly be?
00:01:05.240 Why was it build back better?
00:01:07.420 Hmm.
00:01:08.260 How about the stuff that was already built?
00:01:09.800 How about all the wonderful stuff that we are in the process of turning down and tearing down and eliminating and eradicating and looking at history and going, eh, not so much.
00:01:22.500 We're going to start today.
00:01:24.240 No, no, we're going to start tomorrow.
00:01:25.420 You know what?
00:01:26.140 Give us a call back if you think about it, and we'll start at some point.
00:01:31.460 Now, I want to give you a little bit of background.
00:01:34.340 I've been doing this talk radio thing for an awfully long time, but that is not the only thing.
00:01:39.900 You know, I look in the mirror each and every morning.
00:01:42.060 At first, I'm horrified, of course, but once I get past that, I think to myself, okay, alive?
00:01:48.580 Check one off the list.
00:01:49.880 Thank you, God.
00:01:50.720 I take a look and see if the bride is still breathing.
00:01:55.740 Check another one off the list.
00:01:58.020 Three kids, well, they're all in different rooms.
00:02:00.560 I'm just going to assume that they're all going to be okay.
00:02:03.900 And then I start thinking about how fortunate I am, about how lucky I am.
00:02:10.820 And then I correct myself, and I'm telling you, it is each and every morning, right?
00:02:15.600 The initial thought is, man, I am lucky.
00:02:17.940 I'm looking out windows.
00:02:19.340 You have to understand something.
00:02:21.180 I've got windows on all of the sides of my house.
00:02:24.940 Chuckle, if you will.
00:02:26.420 But when you grow up in the inner city of Philadelphia, as I did, you were lucky because you had windows on two sides.
00:02:35.400 You grow up in a row house, right?
00:02:38.180 There are 50 houses that look exactly the same all in a row, hence the name, row house.
00:02:45.080 And then you look across the street, and it's exactly the same.
00:02:48.220 And then you look up and down the street, and I'm telling you, it's mile after mile after mile.
00:02:54.180 Now, if you were really fortunate growing up in the city of Philadelphia, I mean, somehow your folks had just hit the lottery.
00:03:04.660 You had windows on three sides because you had one of the end townhouses, right?
00:03:10.000 You could look out the front.
00:03:11.420 You know what you saw out there.
00:03:12.620 Well, you saw nothing, basically.
00:03:14.100 You saw other townhouses, but you could still look out.
00:03:17.900 And then you looked out the back window, and you were overlooking the alley, right?
00:03:23.740 Hit the alley with the trash cans, more trash cans, trash, more trash cans.
00:03:30.480 Not exactly a view that you would kill for, but nonetheless, you were looking out there.
00:03:34.420 And then, if you were super, super fortunate, you had that third side of the house you could look out of.
00:03:43.700 Now, you didn't see anything that was worth seeing.
00:03:45.920 You just saw more townhouses, but my point is, the numbers added up, right?
00:03:50.020 You had windows on three sides, and you could strut around and go, we got windows on all three sides.
00:03:54.060 So, here I am in a house with a beautiful yard and flowers, trees.
00:04:03.240 And I'm thinking, I'm lucky.
00:04:04.820 I'm fortunate.
00:04:06.360 And then I realize, no, Pinhead, you're blessed.
00:04:10.240 For some reason, inexplicable to me, God said, listen, I'm going to help you out here.
00:04:16.520 I'm going to help you get through all this.
00:04:18.840 And, in fact, he has.
00:04:20.420 So, why would anybody want to tear it down?
00:04:22.820 Why would anybody want to look at what it is that has been accomplished in this nation
00:04:27.160 and say, yeah, we're going to roll it back a little bit?
00:04:34.700 I'm in central Virginia.
00:04:36.320 Now, I am in what I consider to be God's country, right?
00:04:40.520 I'm in this beautiful, bucolic, well, I want to say valley.
00:04:44.980 It's not really a valley.
00:04:45.800 But it's got a lot of grass.
00:04:46.620 It's got farms.
00:04:48.080 It's got stuff like that.
00:04:49.820 It's got small businesses, local businesses.
00:04:52.820 It's got restaurants.
00:04:53.860 It's got more farms.
00:04:55.300 It's got meat.
00:04:56.440 Don't know anything about a farm.
00:04:58.660 I'm a city guy.
00:04:59.960 I just assume that meat naturally comes in styrofoam and shrink wrap.
00:05:05.740 What do I know?
00:05:07.040 But people have cows.
00:05:08.680 They do things with cows.
00:05:10.100 And then, at some point, you know, they're delicious.
00:05:13.280 So, I take a look at this.
00:05:14.700 And just a couple of miles away is the city of Richmond.
00:05:18.040 You may or may not have passed through Richmond.
00:05:21.280 Right?
00:05:21.700 That's how I first discovered Richmond.
00:05:23.420 I was passing through.
00:05:24.520 So, I was headed from South Florida, where my parents lived, because, you know, you get
00:05:31.180 to be 65, 70 years old, and you're Jewish living in the Northeast.
00:05:35.560 It's the law.
00:05:36.260 You got to go to South Florida.
00:05:37.660 So, they did.
00:05:38.200 They're not lawbreakers.
00:05:39.840 And then, I would be traveling up to New England, which is where I lived.
00:05:44.360 And I would pass through Richmond, Virginia.
00:05:48.360 Right?
00:05:48.700 It's on either side of 95.
00:05:50.440 Is there anything to see here?
00:05:51.480 Well, there's huge things to see.
00:05:53.780 But I never stopped.
00:05:55.360 Never bothered to stop.
00:05:56.740 Why?
00:05:57.140 Well, I don't know.
00:05:58.300 Had places to go.
00:05:59.280 People to see.
00:05:59.960 Right?
00:06:00.160 And then, almost eight years ago, I'm asked, hey, you want to work in central Virginia?
00:06:10.980 And I said, yeah, I don't know.
00:06:12.940 Maybe.
00:06:13.560 Maybe not.
00:06:14.200 Maybe yes.
00:06:14.720 What do I know?
00:06:15.760 Ah, we've got this great radio station.
00:06:18.320 It's a heritage radio station.
00:06:19.720 We'd love to have you.
00:06:22.080 I said, all right.
00:06:23.920 So, I'm here.
00:06:24.780 Now, in the city of Richmond, there used to be this thing called Monument Avenue.
00:06:31.060 And let me explain to you how this ties in with the Great Reset.
00:06:35.320 Let me explain to you how this ties in with this desire on the part of progressives to simply rewrite things.
00:06:44.080 So, Monument Avenue was so named because, ready for this, there were monuments there.
00:06:51.100 Now, they were Confederate War heroes.
00:06:55.780 Well, right there, you know, there's going to be a problem, except there wasn't a problem for the longest time.
00:07:02.620 People would come to visit me in central Virginia.
00:07:07.240 And the first stop always, and I mean always, was Monument Avenue.
00:07:12.520 And we would drive up and down.
00:07:14.400 Now, most of my friends were from the north, the same as I was.
00:07:18.080 So, it was a pretty simple equation.
00:07:21.360 I went to school.
00:07:22.280 Well, here's how the period between 1861 and 1865 was addressed.
00:07:29.660 The south was bad.
00:07:31.200 We were good.
00:07:32.300 We beat them.
00:07:33.580 Turn the page.
00:07:34.360 We're on to something else.
00:07:35.480 Oh, okay.
00:07:36.340 And then you'd get here, and is it the Civil War?
00:07:39.880 Is it the war between the states?
00:07:41.380 Is it the war of northern aggression?
00:07:43.000 Is it simply saying, well, I don't know, it's 1861 to 1865.
00:07:47.100 There's stuff happening.
00:07:47.920 I don't know exactly what it was.
00:07:49.060 But I would take everybody up and down Monument Avenue.
00:07:53.240 And invariably, the first thing everybody would say, wow, really cool.
00:07:56.380 You got all these second place trophies.
00:07:58.120 That is really neat.
00:07:59.400 And you go, okay, I haven't heard that one before.
00:08:02.520 But then you would start talking.
00:08:04.520 You'd get out of the car.
00:08:05.660 I would park the car.
00:08:06.660 We'd get out of the car.
00:08:07.580 We'd walk up to these giant monuments.
00:08:10.620 And you'd read some of the plaques.
00:08:12.440 And you'd see this name or that name.
00:08:15.100 And in most cases, we'd look at each other and go, huh, I wonder who that was.
00:08:21.180 What did they do?
00:08:22.040 Who's he?
00:08:23.720 And then you would talk about it.
00:08:25.080 You'd Google it on your phone.
00:08:26.160 And then you'd go, oh, now I can't tell you how many times I did this tour.
00:08:30.500 Because that's really what it was.
00:08:31.440 It was a tour.
00:08:33.000 And I would take people when they came to visit up and down Monument Avenue, over and over and over and over.
00:08:39.340 And invariably, you know what happened?
00:08:42.920 Conversations, discussions, substantive, intelligent conversations.
00:08:49.520 And you would debate and discuss what happened during the period of 1861 to 1865.
00:08:55.540 Who was right?
00:08:56.680 Were they right?
00:08:57.340 Was it 100% on this side?
00:08:58.820 90% on that side?
00:09:00.320 And man, oh man, you would talk about all of this.
00:09:03.960 And you know what the conclusion was for everyone?
00:09:08.020 We can't ever let human beings be considered property ever again.
00:09:14.080 Never.
00:09:16.480 Talk about an accomplishment, right?
00:09:19.120 And then we go on and we do something else.
00:09:20.800 So what happens in the city of Richmond this past summer?
00:09:26.080 Well, we saw violence all over America, right?
00:09:28.260 And everybody saw Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, and New York City.
00:09:33.040 But little old Richmond, Virginia was part of that.
00:09:37.160 Most people didn't see it, but I got to see it up close and personal.
00:09:40.840 And I thought, well, I wasn't born here.
00:09:44.880 I wasn't raised here.
00:09:46.820 It's my town now, and I care about it.
00:09:52.980 But I watched gangs, gangs in the middle of the night tearing down monuments, toppling them,
00:10:02.340 spray painting the most vile, foul, profane things.
00:10:06.780 And I thought to myself, had anybody there who was part of this ever had one of these discussions?
00:10:13.980 Did anybody say, ah, I wonder who this guy was?
00:10:17.260 Why does this guy have a statue?
00:10:19.180 What the heck is going on?
00:10:21.540 And how do we make sure?
00:10:23.860 How do we make sure this ownership of human beings,
00:10:28.360 looking at a human being and saying, yep, chattel,
00:10:31.440 just like the credenza in your office, Jeff, exactly.
00:10:35.700 How do we make sure that never happens again?
00:10:42.760 Well, you tear down the monuments, you deface them,
00:10:47.160 and then you say, well, there's never going to be a conversation about the monument that used to be there.
00:10:54.000 How do you handle that?
00:10:56.420 That is exactly what we're seeing.
00:11:00.020 You've heard Glenn talk about this great reset.
00:11:05.440 Tear down history.
00:11:06.980 Tear down anything that represents history.
00:11:09.460 And it doesn't stop with the Confederate figures.
00:11:12.240 It expands to Revolutionary War figures.
00:11:16.620 It expands to Christopher Columbus.
00:11:18.640 It just keeps going and going and going and going.
00:11:21.240 The conversations end, right?
00:11:24.920 Because there's a generational thing.
00:11:27.060 There's going to be a generation of folks who've never seen the monuments,
00:11:30.900 and they don't know that they were torn down for really no reason.
00:11:36.140 All right.
00:11:37.120 That is part of this great reset.
00:11:39.060 Now, that's part of what you and I are going to have to spend some time on,
00:11:42.100 but we also have to think about what the changes are on a very personal basis.
00:11:50.100 Now, I want to remind you, it's 888-727-BECK.
00:11:53.420 888-727-BECK.
00:11:55.860 I want to make sure that you, like I, am always checking out glenbeck.com, theblaze.com.
00:12:02.340 Tremendous resources there.
00:12:04.980 888-727-BECK.
00:12:06.760 888-727-BECK.
00:12:09.000 I'm Jeff Katz, in today for Glenn on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:12:18.960 Jeff Katz, in today for Glenn Beck on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:12:24.380 We also have got to think about the free money that's coming our way.
00:12:27.980 I love free stuff, and if it is free, it is for me.
00:12:31.660 The problem, as we take a look at what Congress, the Senate,
00:12:35.980 whoever these people are in D.C. did, what was it, last night,
00:12:38.640 2 o'clock in the morning, 3 o'clock in the morning,
00:12:40.900 saying, hey, we've got a solution.
00:12:43.000 We're going to address everything.
00:12:44.340 Now, we're not really going to address anything,
00:12:45.900 but seriously, we're going to fix everything,
00:12:47.600 and here's what we're going to do.
00:12:49.140 We've figured it all out.
00:12:50.540 We're going to give people money.
00:12:53.160 Now, that always wins, doesn't it?
00:12:55.100 If you're going to pay me off, well, then I can go on,
00:12:58.600 and I don't know what I'm going to do,
00:13:00.020 but you can pay me off, right?
00:13:01.780 $600 per person in each family.
00:13:05.720 Well, that's not bad.
00:13:07.800 Right at Christmastime, fantastic.
00:13:10.660 Who's the happiest about this?
00:13:12.380 Amazon? Maybe.
00:13:14.740 Retail? Gosh, I hope so,
00:13:16.480 but there's another part of this that we're missing.
00:13:19.520 There really is.
00:13:20.180 There's another part of this.
00:13:21.440 Every news story that I have seen covering this
00:13:24.400 has this little sidebar piece
00:13:27.020 or a secondary story that says,
00:13:29.560 where are Americans going to spend the $600?
00:13:34.600 Never once do you see the thing that says,
00:13:38.000 maybe people should put it away.
00:13:39.980 Maybe you take the $600 in small unmarked bills,
00:13:42.680 you stuff it in a satchel,
00:13:44.220 you rent yourself one of those lockers
00:13:46.020 at the downtown bus station,
00:13:47.540 if, in fact, you can find the downtown,
00:13:49.540 let alone a bus station,
00:13:51.100 and stick it there for a while.
00:13:52.660 Well, maybe it's valuable.
00:13:55.380 I mean, you think about it, it's possible,
00:13:57.000 but it's all about getting it back into the economy.
00:14:00.180 All right, fair enough.
00:14:00.840 We're going to talk about that.
00:14:02.540 But when I keep hearing free,
00:14:04.660 I always get concerned.
00:14:06.240 Look, free is a,
00:14:07.560 it's a four-letter word,
00:14:09.880 and it ain't free.
00:14:11.380 And there's nothing that's free,
00:14:12.920 and you know that, and I know that,
00:14:14.560 and we're big people,
00:14:15.480 and we figured it out a long time ago.
00:14:17.060 Did we not?
00:14:18.820 Free.
00:14:20.060 Well, the problem is,
00:14:21.120 it's like one giant game of kick the can.
00:14:24.540 We're saying it's free for me.
00:14:26.080 I get 600 bucks,
00:14:28.180 and then my boys,
00:14:29.920 when they go out to work,
00:14:31.420 and I don't know,
00:14:32.460 it can't be soon enough for one of them,
00:14:34.020 but whenever they get a job,
00:14:36.960 and they're participating
00:14:39.400 in this dreaded free market,
00:14:42.620 they got to pay it back.
00:14:44.680 Or do we just start printing the money?
00:14:47.500 I mean, maybe that is the way to go.
00:14:49.700 You just figure out how much we gave out,
00:14:52.740 and then we print some more,
00:14:54.140 and we give it away.
00:14:56.000 How does that work out for us?
00:14:58.940 888-727-BECK,
00:15:00.740 888-727-BECK.
00:15:02.360 I remind you,
00:15:03.220 please,
00:15:03.940 would you visit,

00:15:19.000 Now, I mentioned,
00:15:20.240 it'd be nice if one of my boys got a job,
00:15:22.760 but that's like real work, right?
00:15:24.940 If you're 16 years old and 19 years old,
00:15:27.220 you're not really equipped
00:15:28.480 to do very much at this point.
00:15:30.680 My 19-year-old is a sophomore
00:15:33.580 at Stanford University.
00:15:35.700 He's brilliant.
00:15:36.460 Just ask him.
00:15:37.200 And when he marched off to Stanford
00:15:39.880 last year,
00:15:41.580 he was already the smartest guy
00:15:43.700 in the room.
00:15:45.680 Just ask him.
00:15:47.300 And here I am.
00:15:48.260 I'm sitting alone.
00:15:49.760 I'm not the smartest guy in the room.
00:15:51.560 There's nobody else here.
00:15:53.100 But he was the smartest.
00:15:54.260 He knew everything.
00:15:55.480 The problem, I think,
00:15:56.960 is that they gathered together
00:15:58.860 when they got there to college
00:16:00.060 and they looked around and went,
00:16:01.840 wait a minute now.
00:16:03.240 Everybody is now the smartest
00:16:05.040 in the room.
00:16:07.200 And like most young people,
00:16:10.420 they had it all figured out.
00:16:12.060 Same way you did,
00:16:12.800 the same way I did.
00:16:14.060 We figured out,
00:16:15.160 if only somebody else
00:16:17.340 would spend their money on us,
00:16:18.800 we'd be great.
00:16:19.940 It'd all be fine.
00:16:20.800 It didn't work out,
00:16:23.560 did it?
00:16:25.220 So what happens
00:16:26.580 as we move a little bit further
00:16:28.020 down the line?
00:16:31.520 Take a look at
00:16:32.540 where we are right now.
00:16:35.000 We are 10 months
00:16:36.660 into the two weeks
00:16:38.340 needed to, quote,
00:16:40.080 flatten the curve.
00:16:42.260 And I just mentioned to you,
00:16:43.280 I'm alone,
00:16:44.080 and I'm not the brightest guy
00:16:44.980 in the room.
00:16:45.380 But when I heard two weeks,
00:16:48.480 look,
00:16:48.760 it was the government, right?
00:16:49.900 The big federal government
00:16:50.720 says, hey,
00:16:51.100 we're going to need two weeks
00:16:52.200 to flatten the curve.
00:16:54.040 Okay, two weeks.
00:16:55.520 I figured, well, again,
00:16:56.480 it's kind of government work.
00:16:59.020 I'm budgeting three weeks,
00:17:01.180 four weeks.
00:17:01.840 Ah, heck,
00:17:02.440 I'm going to give them six weeks
00:17:03.560 for the two weeks
00:17:04.320 they said it would take
00:17:05.100 to flatten the curve.
00:17:06.680 I have no idea
00:17:07.760 if the curve is flattened
00:17:08.920 because we stopped
00:17:09.660 talking about it, what?
00:17:11.400 Nine months ago?
00:17:12.480 Nine and a half months ago?
00:17:14.280 And now, apparently,
00:17:16.500 the only solution
00:17:17.800 to any of this
00:17:18.860 is to destroy the economy,
00:17:22.560 drive business owners,
00:17:24.540 local small business owners,
00:17:26.080 just drive them out of business.
00:17:27.620 They don't need to work anymore.
00:17:29.260 They don't need anything anymore.
00:17:30.460 We're just going to destroy them.
00:17:32.700 And we're going to wait
00:17:33.760 for the free money.
00:17:35.520 It's going to come in.
00:17:36.640 And as soon as we get
00:17:37.800 more free money,
00:17:38.680 gosh, we're all going to be okay.
00:17:40.940 And then we'll get
00:17:41.780 some more free money
00:17:42.680 at some point
00:17:43.300 and we'll be okay.
00:17:45.380 Now, at some point,
00:17:47.000 because you may very well
00:17:48.640 be the smartest one
00:17:49.420 in your room,
00:17:50.600 you figured this out.
00:17:52.960 We're going to run
00:17:53.640 out of that money.
00:17:55.180 We're going to run out
00:17:56.000 of all the free money
00:17:57.100 at some point
00:17:58.100 and then what?
00:17:59.560 I don't know.
00:18:00.880 I don't know.
00:18:01.660 I mean, I am truly debating,
00:18:03.440 okay,
00:18:04.000 if this is the future,
00:18:05.860 and man,
00:18:06.560 I don't want this
00:18:07.100 to be the future.
00:18:07.660 I really don't.
00:18:09.240 Because again,
00:18:09.800 they call me nuts.
00:18:11.740 I just kind of figured
00:18:13.040 when I became a father
00:18:14.220 that my goal,
00:18:15.920 my duty,
00:18:16.660 my sacred obligation
00:18:17.980 was to somehow
00:18:18.960 give to my kids,
00:18:21.080 you know,
00:18:21.860 a world that was
00:18:23.180 kind of put together.
00:18:25.660 Give to them
00:18:26.620 a United States of America
00:18:28.060 that was actually
00:18:29.280 as good,
00:18:30.720 if not better,
00:18:32.280 on some levels,
00:18:33.400 than the United States of America
00:18:34.540 that my folks
00:18:35.280 gave to me.
00:18:36.520 Am I going to be able
00:18:38.500 to do it?
00:18:40.920 Well, that is
00:18:42.260 the question.
00:18:43.540 888-727-BECK,
00:18:45.140 888-727-BECK.
00:18:47.420 This is Jeff Katz
00:18:48.680 filling in for Glenn today
00:18:50.080 on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:18:56.460 It is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:18:58.440 Jeff Katz in today
00:18:59.960 for Glenn
00:19:01.300 and so appreciative
00:19:02.640 for the opportunity.
00:19:03.700 The Ordinarily Broadcasting
00:19:05.960 on News Radio WRVA
00:19:07.640 in Richmond, Virginia.
00:19:08.860 I shared a little bit
00:19:10.120 of the story here
00:19:11.980 in Central Virginia.
00:19:13.540 You know,
00:19:13.700 and I've got to
00:19:14.320 separate it a little bit
00:19:16.020 and then I absolutely
00:19:17.240 have to talk with you
00:19:18.260 about it
00:19:18.680 because this is such
00:19:19.320 a big picture item
00:19:20.480 but it hits each of us
00:19:22.280 individually.
00:19:23.080 You know,
00:19:23.300 I look at it,
00:19:24.560 I'm sitting here
00:19:25.600 in my broadcast hut.
00:19:27.740 Right?
00:19:28.280 It's a studio.
00:19:29.860 It's a home studio.
00:19:31.120 I never thought
00:19:31.940 I'd have a separate
00:19:33.340 home studio
00:19:34.100 that I always work
00:19:35.220 from home.
00:19:35.740 Wouldn't that be great?
00:19:37.280 And now,
00:19:38.460 my wife and I
00:19:40.420 look at each other
00:19:40.920 and go,
00:19:41.800 when's the last time
00:19:42.980 you took a shower?
00:19:44.440 I don't know.
00:19:44.860 What's today,
00:19:45.260 Thursday?
00:19:45.740 No, it's Monday.
00:19:46.280 Oh, Monday.
00:19:47.340 Well, look,
00:19:48.000 I'm wearing my
00:19:48.580 semi-clean sweatpants.
00:19:50.120 Everything will be fine.
00:19:51.160 I mean,
00:19:51.340 there's a bigger part
00:19:52.460 of this.
00:19:53.660 It's not just
00:19:55.020 saying to you,
00:19:55.980 oh, it's going to be great.
00:19:56.640 You work from home.
00:19:57.500 Everybody's going
00:19:57.860 to work from home.
00:19:59.380 How do you go out
00:20:00.180 and do stuff?
00:20:01.500 How do you get your car
00:20:02.260 repaired from home?
00:20:03.520 You can't do it.
00:20:05.100 How do you go out
00:20:05.900 and have a meal from home?
00:20:07.080 I mean,
00:20:07.240 you really can't do it.
00:20:09.100 So there is that
00:20:10.180 big picture
00:20:10.900 that we're going
00:20:11.460 to change everything.
00:20:13.780 We're going
00:20:14.240 to demolish history.
00:20:16.660 Nobody's ever
00:20:17.320 going to feel,
00:20:18.460 feel bad.
00:20:19.500 You're not alone.
00:20:19.980 I can't feel bad.
00:20:20.800 I felt bad.
00:20:21.700 If I feel bad,
00:20:22.720 I should be able
00:20:23.240 to change everything.
00:20:23.980 No, take a lap.
00:20:25.120 Walk it off.
00:20:27.060 I mean,
00:20:27.320 that's what we're
00:20:27.840 dealing with on
00:20:28.560 so many levels.
00:20:30.760 Now, I want to
00:20:31.140 remind you quickly,
00:20:31.960 you've got to check out
00:20:32.980 glennbeck.com
00:20:34.080 and theblaze.com.
00:20:35.820 I use it every single day.
00:20:37.140 Man, I'm over there
00:20:37.880 all the time.
00:20:38.900 Great, great resources.
00:20:41.400 Love to hear from you
00:20:42.400 as well.
00:20:42.960 888-727-BECK,
00:20:44.880 888-727-BECK.
00:20:46.960 If you want to shoot me
00:20:47.860 an email,
00:20:48.980 send it to me,
00:20:50.700 jeff at
00:20:51.640 thejeffcatsshow.com.
00:20:54.460 jeff at
00:20:55.440 thejeffcatsshow.com.
00:20:59.560 Let me hit up
00:21:00.360 Ron,
00:21:00.840 who is in Michigan.
00:21:02.300 Ron,
00:21:02.740 welcome to the
00:21:03.600 Glenn Beck program.
00:21:04.780 Hey, thank you,
00:21:05.440 thank you.
00:21:05.760 This is actually
00:21:06.540 Jackson, Mississippi.
00:21:08.120 Oh, Mississippi.
00:21:09.200 Well, look,
00:21:09.840 I told you I wasn't
00:21:10.540 the smartest guy
00:21:11.180 in the room,
00:21:11.640 so what are you
00:21:11.940 going to do?
00:21:12.920 And it is Monday,
00:21:13.900 yes.
00:21:14.220 Are you sure?
00:21:15.300 Wait a minute,
00:21:15.580 I've got to check
00:21:16.020 my sweatpants.
00:21:16.980 I think Monday
00:21:18.260 are the blue stains
00:21:19.600 on the sweatpants.
00:21:20.660 Yeah, all right.
00:21:21.500 I don't want to hear that.
00:21:22.460 No, you don't.
00:21:24.360 Hey, you know,
00:21:25.900 with all the cancel culture,
00:21:27.180 the sensitivity
00:21:27.700 and everything,
00:21:28.960 the Washington
00:21:29.540 not Redskins,
00:21:31.160 the Cleveland
00:21:31.920 not Indians,
00:21:33.260 how does Nancy Pelosi
00:21:35.640 keep her job
00:21:36.700 or how does she
00:21:37.220 not get any flack
00:21:38.040 over having many
00:21:39.140 arrows in her quiver?
00:21:43.200 Well, I would
00:21:44.000 never hear.
00:21:44.740 No, Ron,
00:21:45.760 I would just assume
00:21:46.920 that when she parks
00:21:48.280 Broomstick 1,
00:21:49.480 everybody bows down
00:21:50.760 and says,
00:21:51.440 look, she's here.
00:21:52.160 Get me ice cream.
00:21:53.300 She's here.
00:21:54.100 She's here.
00:21:56.080 Put some water on her.
00:21:57.220 Put some water on her.
00:21:58.180 That's right.
00:21:59.440 I'm melting.
00:22:01.820 But first,
00:22:02.640 a billion dollars
00:22:03.520 for you
00:22:03.900 and a billion dollars
00:22:04.820 for you.
00:22:05.240 It's like watching
00:22:06.140 Oprah at the end
00:22:08.180 of one of her shows
00:22:09.000 giving stuff away,
00:22:10.020 right?
00:22:11.120 Yeah, true, true.
00:22:12.400 You have a good day.
00:22:13.480 Thank you, Ron.
00:22:14.080 I appreciate the call.
00:22:15.980 I'm melting
00:22:16.860 just like the ice cream.
00:22:18.740 $20 for a pint
00:22:19.900 of ice cream.
00:22:20.340 Look, I love ice cream.
00:22:22.160 I do.
00:22:22.900 No, I really do.
00:22:23.540 I love ice cream.
00:22:25.300 $20
00:22:25.740 in a, what,
00:22:28.140 $15,000
00:22:29.500 refrigerator
00:22:30.660 or freezer?
00:22:31.720 I looked at her freezer
00:22:33.000 and I thought to myself,
00:22:34.200 you know,
00:22:35.220 that's like a
00:22:35.680 Jeffrey Dahmer
00:22:36.700 kind of freezer.
00:22:38.120 There's enough room
00:22:38.920 in there
00:22:39.200 for a lot
00:22:40.100 of bad ideas
00:22:41.380 and a lot
00:22:42.620 of ice cream.
00:22:43.820 Hans is in Pennsylvania.
00:22:45.160 Hans,
00:22:45.560 welcome to
00:22:46.140 the Glenn Beck program.
00:22:48.280 Hey, thanks for
00:22:48.980 taking my call.
00:22:49.860 I'll keep it real quick.
00:22:51.080 I think
00:22:51.600 it's more sinister
00:22:53.500 this lockdown.
00:22:54.880 You were talking
00:22:55.260 about the two-week
00:22:56.000 flat and the curve.
00:22:57.640 I think at this point
00:22:58.480 it's absolutely
00:22:59.720 about
00:23:00.400 making the people
00:23:02.680 that made the economy
00:23:03.700 so strong under Trump
00:23:05.020 suffer
00:23:05.500 and put them
00:23:06.380 out of business
00:23:07.100 and put them
00:23:07.780 on the government
00:23:08.320 dole
00:23:08.880 so then
00:23:09.760 they're dependent
00:23:10.780 once again
00:23:11.760 on their elected officials.
00:23:13.540 It has nothing
00:23:14.560 to do with COVID.
00:23:15.780 No, Hans,
00:23:16.440 you are brilliant
00:23:17.440 and I'm not just
00:23:18.660 saying that
00:23:19.140 because you're brilliant.
00:23:20.520 I'm saying it
00:23:21.060 because you're right.
00:23:22.160 That's exactly
00:23:23.100 what the bigger picture is.
00:23:25.160 You know,
00:23:25.400 I'm joking about,
00:23:26.460 hey,
00:23:26.680 Monday are the blue sweatpants
00:23:28.120 but think about it.
00:23:29.360 Anybody who had
00:23:30.440 the initiative
00:23:31.160 to get up
00:23:31.900 and go to work
00:23:32.760 is now saying,
00:23:33.920 eh,
00:23:34.360 maybe I'll shower tomorrow.
00:23:36.080 Right?
00:23:36.420 I mean,
00:23:36.640 we're stealing that
00:23:37.920 from people
00:23:38.560 and man,
00:23:39.620 that is,
00:23:40.400 it is,
00:23:41.340 as you pointed out rightly,
00:23:42.660 it is a prescription
00:23:44.000 for dependency.
00:23:47.340 Yes,
00:23:47.820 it is.
00:23:48.440 And it's shame
00:23:49.580 on our elected officials,
00:23:50.760 the ones that are
00:23:51.340 supposed to be
00:23:52.060 on our side.
00:23:53.260 Right?
00:23:53.900 These spineless Republicans
00:23:55.320 and I don't even,
00:23:56.320 at this point,
00:23:56.900 it's not even rhinos.
00:23:58.020 You can't even,
00:23:58.520 you can't even
00:23:59.340 separate the two
00:24:00.200 because if you really
00:24:01.080 take a step back,
00:24:02.200 they're all working together.
00:24:03.820 Because if you take
00:24:04.580 it even a step,
00:24:05.420 you take it even further back
00:24:06.980 and make the argument
00:24:08.160 that these Republicans
00:24:09.740 that didn't help Trump
00:24:10.940 in the very beginning
00:24:11.620 because they were worried
00:24:12.400 about Russian collusion,
00:24:13.640 I argue that they were
00:24:14.860 in bed with,
00:24:15.680 they were all in bed,
00:24:17.300 they all assumed
00:24:18.240 Trump would fail
00:24:19.140 in the first year
00:24:20.040 and they would have
00:24:21.040 gotten rid of him
00:24:21.860 and now,
00:24:22.720 now they're all just saying,
00:24:24.080 you know what,
00:24:24.540 what the hell,
00:24:25.500 these people will be
00:24:26.120 on unemployment,
00:24:27.340 they'll be,
00:24:27.800 they'll be dependent on us,
00:24:29.740 we don't need to really
00:24:30.800 do anything for them anymore.
00:24:32.340 Right.
00:24:33.200 Now you're absolutely,
00:24:34.140 Hans,
00:24:34.520 you're absolutely right.
00:24:38.180 We've got folks,
00:24:39.260 and I'm going to tell you
00:24:40.040 flat out,
00:24:41.300 when Donald Trump
00:24:43.020 came down that escalator
00:24:44.940 in New York
00:24:45.540 and announced he was
00:24:46.240 running for president,
00:24:47.220 you know what I did?
00:24:48.600 Meh.
00:24:49.560 I was not a supporter.
00:24:52.340 What do we have
00:24:53.040 on our team?
00:24:53.880 I guess it's still my team,
00:24:55.000 right?
00:24:55.160 The Republicans,
00:24:55.800 what do we have?
00:24:56.840 110,
00:24:57.560 120 people running
00:24:58.960 for the Republican nomination
00:25:00.760 and if you would have
00:25:01.480 asked me back then,
00:25:02.500 I probably would have said,
00:25:03.600 yeah,
00:25:04.000 I'll take any of them.
00:25:06.040 What about Trump?
00:25:07.080 Meh,
00:25:07.480 I don't know.
00:25:09.120 And man,
00:25:09.560 it took me the longest time
00:25:11.900 to come around and say,
00:25:13.620 well,
00:25:14.280 all right.
00:25:16.040 I mean,
00:25:16.360 look,
00:25:16.600 he's running against
00:25:17.200 Hillary Clinton.
00:25:17.860 What choice do I have?
00:25:20.020 So,
00:25:20.780 I looked at him
00:25:23.220 and you know what I realized?
00:25:24.960 I realized what everybody else
00:25:26.320 had realized before I did
00:25:27.600 because again,
00:25:28.160 not the brightest guy necessarily.
00:25:30.220 I had friends of mine saying,
00:25:31.480 Jeff,
00:25:31.740 you got to get on board
00:25:32.460 this Trump train.
00:25:33.280 No,
00:25:33.840 no,
00:25:34.060 come on,
00:25:34.460 it's not going to work.
00:25:35.180 It's crazy.
00:25:36.240 And I watched this guy.
00:25:38.440 This guy goes to Washington,
00:25:40.140 D.C.
00:25:41.280 and he rolls up his sleeves
00:25:43.180 and he goes to work for me
00:25:45.700 and he goes to work for you.
00:25:47.800 He goes to work for our kids.
00:25:49.100 He goes to work for the American people.
00:25:51.120 And then you start thinking,
00:25:52.520 is this guy nuts?
00:25:54.920 He's got a billion
00:25:56.220 or two billion
00:25:57.220 or three billion.
00:25:58.680 And then the left is like,
00:26:00.120 well,
00:26:00.240 you know,
00:26:00.400 he doesn't really have five billion.
00:26:02.580 He's got four billion.
00:26:04.160 Oh,
00:26:04.360 shut up scooter
00:26:05.600 and go back down
00:26:06.600 your mommy's basement
00:26:07.580 because you don't have anything.
00:26:09.320 And I don't have,
00:26:10.740 well,
00:26:11.020 what am I?
00:26:11.400 How close am I to a billion dollars?
00:26:13.400 I'm like a billion dollars away.
00:26:14.800 So I'm right there.
00:26:16.940 He gives all that up.
00:26:18.420 He puts it all aside
00:26:19.640 and says,
00:26:20.000 yeah,
00:26:20.300 I'm going to roll
00:26:21.460 for the American people.
00:26:23.600 God bless him.
00:26:24.720 And I became
00:26:26.120 one of the biggest,
00:26:28.260 most passionate supporters
00:26:30.140 and defenders
00:26:31.220 of this president.
00:26:32.420 Why?
00:26:32.960 Because he's my president.
00:26:35.460 Anna is in Rhode Island.
00:26:37.960 Anna,
00:26:38.460 welcome to the Glenn Beck program.
00:26:41.480 Yes,
00:26:42.060 good morning.
00:26:43.140 Hi.
00:26:43.920 I want to,
00:26:45.700 well,
00:26:45.880 English is not my first language
00:26:48.260 and you can hear that,
00:26:49.680 so forgive me.
00:26:50.460 Sounds great so far.
00:26:51.600 I am an immigrant.
00:26:52.400 Yep.
00:26:53.140 I work very hard
00:26:54.680 and I didn't need,
00:26:58.540 I haven't been brainwashed
00:27:00.780 by the media of Democrats.
00:27:05.340 Okay.
00:27:05.600 Ever since I came to this country
00:27:07.300 30 years ago,
00:27:08.980 I started looking at the difference.
00:27:12.320 When I came,
00:27:13.160 I saw that there were many factories,
00:27:15.540 many businesses,
00:27:17.080 things were going good.
00:27:18.900 And then businesses
00:27:20.840 started closing down
00:27:22.140 and moving out of the state,
00:27:23.940 out of the country.
00:27:24.940 Right, right.
00:27:25.780 So I started digging out
00:27:27.200 what is going on
00:27:28.060 because I was listening
00:27:29.480 things here,
00:27:30.620 there in history,
00:27:31.960 in my country,
00:27:32.500 I learned
00:27:33.100 it was different.
00:27:35.040 So I couldn't understand
00:27:37.240 why people were,
00:27:39.600 I live in a liberal state.
00:27:42.720 Oh,
00:27:43.080 I couldn't understand
00:27:43.680 why people were...
00:27:43.900 Wait a minute,
00:27:44.120 Anna,
00:27:44.540 Anna,
00:27:45.080 let me stop you
00:27:46.420 for one second.
00:27:47.120 To describe Rhode Island
00:27:48.900 as a liberal state
00:27:50.520 is embarrassing
00:27:52.540 to liberal states.
00:27:54.060 Rhode Island
00:27:54.680 is officially
00:27:55.780 bat crap crazy.
00:27:58.820 Right?
00:27:59.180 I mean,
00:27:59.540 you have,
00:28:00.260 everybody is a leftist
00:28:01.900 and even your governor,
00:28:03.160 what's her name,
00:28:03.620 Gina Romando,
00:28:04.980 she's there
00:28:05.800 telling everybody,
00:28:06.560 you gotta lock yourselves
00:28:07.220 in the house,
00:28:07.880 hide under the bed.
00:28:08.860 By the way,
00:28:09.440 I'll be over here
00:28:10.200 at this big wine dinner
00:28:11.560 in case anybody needs me.
00:28:12.920 Right?
00:28:13.160 And that is my point.
00:28:15.680 Yeah.
00:28:15.980 If I have
00:28:17.160 an attitude
00:28:17.760 that I don't let
00:28:19.060 anybody make decisions
00:28:20.200 for me
00:28:20.680 unless it's God.
00:28:22.000 There you go.
00:28:22.580 And if I were
00:28:23.480 a business owner,
00:28:24.520 I think I would be
00:28:25.500 up there
00:28:26.200 with a sign
00:28:27.680 because I go
00:28:29.220 to different places,
00:28:30.440 I'm still working,
00:28:32.160 big businesses
00:28:32.960 have to handle
00:28:34.560 more than
00:28:35.340 five,
00:28:35.920 ten people
00:28:36.480 at a time
00:28:37.180 and they are okay
00:28:38.300 being opened.
00:28:39.900 And then
00:28:40.320 small businesses
00:28:41.200 don't handle
00:28:42.400 50,
00:28:43.520 100 people
00:28:44.600 at a time
00:28:45.140 but they are closed.
00:28:46.500 That's right.
00:28:47.900 That's right
00:28:48.500 and it makes no sense
00:28:49.780 to...
00:28:50.100 Why is this country...
00:28:51.260 I'm sorry?
00:28:52.060 No, I was going to say,
00:28:52.820 Anna,
00:28:52.980 you've made
00:28:53.480 a great point
00:28:54.540 and I appreciate
00:28:55.220 that call.
00:28:55.920 It makes no sense.
00:28:58.300 Look,
00:28:59.000 I want
00:29:00.020 our economy
00:29:01.040 up and running.
00:29:02.540 Do I want
00:29:03.240 people getting sick?
00:29:04.580 Absolutely not.
00:29:06.680 Do we need
00:29:07.700 to deal
00:29:08.620 with issues?
00:29:09.540 Yes,
00:29:10.040 we've got to be honest.
00:29:11.820 We've got to be
00:29:12.700 forthright
00:29:13.480 but good Lord,
00:29:15.900 as President Trump
00:29:16.800 said,
00:29:17.580 the cure
00:29:18.440 cannot be worse
00:29:20.460 than the disease
00:29:21.360 and we are just
00:29:23.140 curing the heck
00:29:24.580 out of everybody,
00:29:25.840 aren't we?
00:29:26.680 I want to remind you,
00:29:27.760 you're always welcome.
00:29:28.880 888-727-BECK,
00:29:30.720 888-727-BECK.
00:29:32.640 Make sure
00:29:33.280 that you check out
00:29:34.360 theblaze.com,
00:29:36.120 glennbeck.com.
00:29:37.460 If you want to
00:29:37.920 shoot me an email,
00:29:38.740 man,
00:29:38.920 I would love
00:29:39.580 to hear from you.
00:29:40.340 jeff
00:29:41.120 at
00:29:41.680 thejeffcatsshow.com.
00:29:44.140 jeff
00:29:44.380 at
00:29:44.800 thejeffcatsshow.com.
00:29:48.640 It is
00:29:49.020 Jeff Katz
00:29:49.740 sitting in today
00:29:50.300 for Glenn
00:29:50.920 and this is
00:29:52.140 the Glenn Beck
00:29:53.540 program.
00:29:55.720 Jeff Katz
00:29:56.660 in today
00:29:57.380 for Glenn Beck
00:29:58.720 on the Glenn Beck
00:29:59.880 program.
00:30:01.220 Is it the end
00:30:02.240 of the line?
00:30:02.820 Gosh,
00:30:03.580 do you think about it?
00:30:04.460 You ever think about that?
00:30:05.200 I'm thinking,
00:30:06.160 wow,
00:30:06.600 we had a pretty good run.
00:30:08.540 A couple of hundred years,
00:30:10.240 the country did pretty well.
00:30:12.500 All right.
00:30:13.660 Maybe it's time to start
00:30:14.760 eating sticks of butter.
00:30:16.360 You know,
00:30:16.580 I would smoke the sticks of butter,
00:30:17.980 but you can't really get a good draw.
00:30:19.020 So you just have to
00:30:19.560 bite them off.
00:30:20.580 And whatever's going to happen
00:30:22.440 is going to happen.
00:30:23.000 The problem with all of that,
00:30:24.500 at least for me,
00:30:25.320 is I got these three kids.
00:30:27.640 And for the most part,
00:30:28.980 I'm pretty fond of them.
00:30:30.620 Every once in a while,
00:30:31.600 you go,
00:30:31.880 really?
00:30:32.460 Seriously?
00:30:33.240 You're like,
00:30:33.820 you got your head
00:30:34.540 in the fridge
00:30:35.440 like it's a television.
00:30:36.460 You're watching the fridge.
00:30:38.240 There's no food
00:30:39.520 that grew in there
00:30:40.720 in the last 30 seconds.
00:30:41.880 But otherwise,
00:30:42.500 I'm thinking,
00:30:43.020 all right,
00:30:43.980 so you got to do something.
00:30:45.800 So what do you do
00:30:46.680 is the question.
00:30:48.200 Well,
00:30:48.620 that's the answer
00:30:49.220 I don't have.
00:30:50.540 But I just get the sense
00:30:52.280 that there are a lot of us
00:30:53.420 around the country
00:30:54.080 right about now
00:30:54.900 who are thinking,
00:30:56.420 I don't like the way
00:30:57.720 this is going.
00:30:58.860 Let me grab Jeff
00:31:01.660 who is out in Colorado.
00:31:03.240 Jeff,
00:31:03.700 welcome to the
00:31:04.660 Glenn Beck program.
00:31:06.420 Hey, Jeff.
00:31:06.900 Thanks for taking my call.
00:31:07.780 Merry Christmas.
00:31:08.440 Happy Hanukkah.
00:31:09.220 Thank you, sir.
00:31:09.900 Same to you.
00:31:11.300 Hey,
00:31:11.640 I've got an opinion
00:31:12.880 about the small business,
00:31:15.460 basically the restaurant owners
00:31:16.780 that are having problems
00:31:17.920 going out of business
00:31:18.620 with all the shutdowns
00:31:19.680 that may not be real popular.
00:31:21.580 Right.
00:31:22.020 But my thing is,
00:31:24.620 up until these policies
00:31:26.960 were put in place
00:31:27.680 by mayors or governors,
00:31:28.620 and they were shut down
00:31:29.560 and they're starting
00:31:30.000 to lose their businesses,
00:31:30.860 which is horrible,
00:31:32.420 how did they feel
00:31:34.420 about the policies
00:31:35.420 those liberal governors
00:31:36.520 and mayors were making?
00:31:38.060 Did they vote for them?
00:31:39.440 Yeah.
00:31:39.740 The other question
00:31:40.340 nobody ever asks them
00:31:41.480 is who are you going
00:31:42.480 to vote for
00:31:43.100 next election?
00:31:44.800 Yeah.
00:31:45.180 And then the third question
00:31:46.240 nobody ever asks is
00:31:47.440 what are you actively doing
00:31:49.780 if it's,
00:31:50.680 and it's horrible
00:31:51.500 that you're losing
00:31:52.120 your business,
00:31:52.680 you're losing
00:31:53.060 your life savings,
00:31:54.460 your family's well-being
00:31:56.000 is putting it,
00:31:56.580 put it in jeopardy.
00:31:57.380 What are you actively doing
00:31:59.200 to kick those knuckleheads
00:32:01.100 out of office
00:32:01.900 that are doing this to you?
00:32:04.880 Are you putting up
00:32:05.660 petitions for recalls
00:32:07.380 in your business
00:32:08.060 so every time
00:32:08.800 everybody comes in
00:32:09.600 you say,
00:32:10.120 sign this,
00:32:11.200 they're putting us
00:32:11.620 out of business,
00:32:12.320 we need to get rid
00:32:13.000 of these people.
00:32:14.080 Every restaurant
00:32:14.760 in California
00:32:15.340 that's still open,
00:32:16.280 every restaurant
00:32:16.820 in New York,
00:32:17.620 Michigan,
00:32:18.100 all these places
00:32:18.720 that have these
00:32:19.340 draconian lockdowns
00:32:20.780 should have a petition
00:32:22.440 on the counter
00:32:23.500 or when their people
00:32:25.040 go to deliver food
00:32:25.980 should have it with them
00:32:26.980 and ask their patrons
00:32:29.020 to sign it
00:32:29.560 because obviously
00:32:30.260 they're supporting
00:32:30.900 those restaurants
00:32:31.620 so they would sign it
00:32:33.140 and they would get there
00:32:34.100 faster but it's just
00:32:35.900 like somebody
00:32:36.420 who has cirrhosis
00:32:37.600 of the liver
00:32:38.120 who's drank all their life
00:32:39.460 and of course
00:32:41.060 that's a horrible disease,
00:32:42.080 you're going to die,
00:32:42.680 you're having problems,
00:32:43.500 you're seeing the light
00:32:44.300 but are you going to,
00:32:46.820 what do you understand
00:32:48.080 what got you to that point?
00:32:49.500 Are you going to stop drinking
00:32:50.820 if we give you another liver,
00:32:53.040 if we bail you out,
00:32:54.020 if we save your business,
00:32:55.060 if we start a GoFundMe page?
00:32:57.120 I'll tell you Jeff,
00:32:58.260 they're great questions.
00:32:59.460 Those are all great questions
00:33:00.920 and I can only talk about it
00:33:03.120 on a personal level.
00:33:04.240 I've got a favorite restaurant
00:33:05.460 that's a mile and a half
00:33:06.540 from my house
00:33:07.660 and I know the owners
00:33:09.220 of that restaurant,
00:33:10.180 Wendy and John
00:33:10.840 and I always try and tell people,
00:33:12.600 look,
00:33:12.760 you've got to look
00:33:14.060 at these local businesses
00:33:15.180 and realize it may have a name
00:33:16.980 but there are real
00:33:18.100 honest people there.
00:33:19.460 These are your neighbors.
00:33:21.040 Now I know that
00:33:22.080 for Wendy and John
00:33:23.700 from my favorite restaurant,
00:33:25.380 Jake's Place,
00:33:26.440 they work like nobody's business.
00:33:29.180 They treated themselves
00:33:30.280 over Thanksgiving.
00:33:31.760 They took two days off.
00:33:34.460 Now let that sink in
00:33:35.380 for a second.
00:33:36.840 They own and operate the business.
00:33:38.840 They have put their life savings
00:33:40.260 into it.
00:33:41.200 They put their heart
00:33:41.880 and soul into it
00:33:42.900 every single day.
00:33:46.600 Their dishwasher
00:33:48.600 called out
00:33:49.640 a couple of weeks ago.
00:33:51.380 So what happens?
00:33:52.440 Well, guess what?
00:33:53.200 John's back there
00:33:54.160 and he's washing dishes
00:33:55.880 because that's what has to happen
00:33:57.400 because you're a business owner.
00:33:59.700 That's not some
00:34:00.300 multinational corporation.
00:34:02.420 There's a couple of people
00:34:03.660 that literally live
00:34:04.800 down the street from me
00:34:05.720 and have a restaurant
00:34:06.520 down the road from me
00:34:07.660 and I got to support them
00:34:10.460 and that plays out
00:34:12.020 thousands of times
00:34:13.520 each and every day
00:34:14.800 in this country.
00:34:16.000 John, that's exactly
00:34:17.280 what's going on
00:34:18.260 and you and I
00:34:19.480 have an obligation
00:34:20.220 to support them
00:34:21.520 and yeah, you got to ask
00:34:23.280 some of those tough questions
00:34:24.660 along the way.
00:34:26.100 Jeff at thejeffcatshow.com
00:34:30.080 if you want to drop me
00:34:31.180 a note.
00:34:31.920 So please,
00:34:32.760 Jeff Kat sitting in today
00:34:33.860 for Glenn.
00:34:35.040 This is
00:34:35.760 the Glenn Beck Program.
00:34:37.200 Terrible violence in the streets.
00:34:43.660 Police officers being told
00:34:45.220 they are the enemies.
00:34:47.700 Presidential and vice presidential
00:34:49.800 candidates supporting those
00:34:51.780 who enable the violence.
00:34:54.220 Can we survive as a nation of laws?
00:34:56.340 That's next on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:34:59.500 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:35:07.200 It is Jeff Kat sitting in today
00:35:10.080 for Glenn Beck
00:35:10.980 on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:35:13.000 Thrilled to be here.
00:35:14.700 Really, really flattered.
00:35:16.320 Flattered to have been asked.
00:35:18.340 You know, before this whole
00:35:20.500 talk radio experience,
00:35:22.900 I did a lot of stuff.
00:35:24.360 Worked in the world
00:35:24.960 of professional wrestling.
00:35:26.660 But my real job,
00:35:28.260 I think my only real, real job,
00:35:31.360 I was a police officer.
00:35:32.580 I mean, a thousand years ago
00:35:34.040 in a galaxy far, far away.
00:35:35.940 I put on the uniform.
00:35:37.800 I pinned on the badge.
00:35:38.840 I strapped on my sidearm.
00:35:40.560 Drove my patrol car.
00:35:42.900 Never busted anybody
00:35:44.580 of any great importance.
00:35:46.700 Didn't bring down
00:35:47.380 any organized crime figures.
00:35:50.100 But I thought I was making a difference.
00:35:53.000 And talking with other men and women
00:35:55.420 who were doing that job
00:35:56.760 so long ago,
00:35:58.200 everybody thought they made a difference.
00:36:00.560 Not every day.
00:36:02.700 You weren't necessarily thanked.
00:36:05.380 I mean, I gotta be honest with you.
00:36:06.940 Nobody calls the local constabulary
00:36:08.740 when they're having a great day.
00:36:10.100 Hey, gotta raise at work.
00:36:12.480 I've lost 10 pounds.
00:36:14.420 Won the lottery.
00:36:15.260 You know what?
00:36:15.660 Let's call the local district.
00:36:17.260 Call the local precinct.
00:36:18.380 Have them send over
00:36:19.160 a few of the guys.
00:36:20.100 Let's bake cookies.
00:36:21.200 Doesn't work that day.
00:36:22.340 That way.
00:36:23.000 The worst of all possible times
00:36:24.680 is when you interact
00:36:25.460 with the police.
00:36:26.120 I got it.
00:36:27.600 But there was a lesson
00:36:29.040 that most of us
00:36:30.280 taught our kids, right?
00:36:33.220 The law enforcement folks
00:36:35.160 were the good guys.
00:36:36.940 And now that message
00:36:37.860 is being blurred.
00:36:38.820 Now, I look all over America.
00:36:40.400 I see terrible violence
00:36:42.160 in the streets
00:36:42.740 that's being enabled
00:36:43.620 by pinhead mayors
00:36:46.700 like Bill de Blasio.
00:36:49.520 I take a look out
00:36:50.440 in Portland and Seattle
00:36:51.800 and you go,
00:36:52.360 well, what the heck
00:36:53.080 is going on out there?
00:36:54.600 Now, there's one man
00:36:56.580 that I know
00:36:57.420 who can offer a perspective
00:36:59.220 on this unlike any other.
00:37:01.380 And let me just run down
00:37:02.560 quickly part of his resume.
00:37:04.460 Jimmy Galeano
00:37:05.280 graduated from West Point,
00:37:07.860 served with distinction
00:37:08.960 in the United States Army,
00:37:10.400 was a United States Army ranger,
00:37:13.380 served with the Federal Bureau
00:37:15.680 of Investigation.
00:37:16.600 He retired from the FBI
00:37:18.420 as a supervisory special agent.
00:37:21.480 He sits on the board of directors
00:37:22.880 of the Law Enforcement
00:37:23.760 Legal Defense Fund.
00:37:25.160 And in his spare time,
00:37:27.380 since he is such a slacker,
00:37:28.660 he's completing his Ph.D.
00:37:31.440 Oh, man.
00:37:32.900 Jimmy, I appreciate you being here.
00:37:38.000 Good, but somewhere up in heaven,
00:37:40.300 my mother is beaming down at you.
00:37:41.840 You did a great job there,
00:37:43.060 but I don't know
00:37:43.660 who you're talking about,
00:37:44.460 who this guy,
00:37:45.700 this mythical figure is.
00:37:48.800 Well, I don't know.
00:37:50.360 I know that the Galeanos
00:37:52.480 have served this country
00:37:53.680 for generations,
00:37:54.940 and you're, listen,
00:37:55.780 you're just the latest.
00:37:56.580 And I do appreciate so much
00:37:58.820 that you've taken some time
00:38:00.360 for us.
00:38:00.740 Jimmy, can I ask you
00:38:02.260 to take a look
00:38:03.000 at what's going on
00:38:03.980 in America today,
00:38:05.080 take a look at what's going on
00:38:06.800 with law enforcement officers
00:38:08.680 all over America,
00:38:10.460 and answer a simple question.
00:38:12.840 What the heck is happening?
00:38:15.360 Yeah, Jeff,
00:38:16.260 I think you succinctly nailed it
00:38:18.720 in your intro.
00:38:20.360 What we ask these folks to do,
00:38:22.480 these brave men and women in blue,
00:38:25.220 it's really just incomprehensible
00:38:27.980 that we're now looking
00:38:30.480 at a situation
00:38:31.360 where the approximately
00:38:33.000 800,000 people
00:38:34.980 that put on a uniform every day,
00:38:37.400 strap on a gun belt,
00:38:39.000 pin a badge on,
00:38:40.260 and go out there
00:38:41.120 to do good things
00:38:42.180 are under such a sale.
00:38:44.440 And if you look
00:38:45.040 at the percentage of them
00:38:46.220 compared to the population
00:38:47.560 in the entire country,
00:38:48.740 800,000 out of 327 million people,
00:38:52.100 that means it's like,
00:38:53.820 you know,
00:38:54.200 less than 2.5% of us
00:38:56.640 are, they're like
00:38:57.400 our military folks,
00:38:58.380 such a tiny percentage
00:38:59.900 that are standing
00:39:01.140 on the front lines.
00:39:02.080 And Jeff, also in your intro,
00:39:04.000 you mentioned
00:39:04.400 what we ask them to do.
00:39:05.880 We ask them to run
00:39:06.840 to the sound of the guns
00:39:07.920 when the rest of us
00:39:08.960 are hightailing it out of there.
00:39:11.020 We ask them to be social workers
00:39:12.860 and mental health professionals
00:39:14.520 and jujitsu artists
00:39:16.480 and to de-escalate
00:39:18.280 in situations
00:39:19.040 where they're dealing
00:39:20.580 with things, Jeff,
00:39:21.400 in real time
00:39:22.380 and we have the benefit
00:39:23.760 of, hey,
00:39:24.560 let's look at this videotape
00:39:26.000 and slow it down
00:39:27.060 and examine it frame by frame
00:39:28.840 and, oh yeah,
00:39:29.960 this officer should have done that.
00:39:31.480 So, Jeff,
00:39:32.460 they're not getting any help
00:39:33.400 from one of the mayors
00:39:35.220 that you mentioned,
00:39:35.920 but it's across a lot
00:39:37.460 of the Democratic cities.
00:39:38.520 You look at Lori Lightfoot
00:39:39.680 in Chicago,
00:39:41.220 you mentioned Seattle,
00:39:42.460 Jenny Durkin,
00:39:43.300 Ted Wheeler in Portland,
00:39:45.420 Muriel Bowser in D.C.
00:39:47.000 they're cutting budgets
00:39:48.720 in the New York City Council.
00:39:52.040 The New York City Council
00:39:53.020 just signed legislation
00:39:55.160 slashing $1 billion
00:39:57.900 with a B
00:39:58.640 out of a $7 billion budget
00:40:01.180 for the NYPD, right?
00:40:03.080 The largest police force
00:40:04.180 we have in this country
00:40:05.160 and by far
00:40:06.400 one of the most restrained
00:40:09.240 when you look at the numbers
00:40:10.320 and as you know,
00:40:10.960 that's what I'm doing.
00:40:12.100 Jeff,
00:40:12.380 they're doing it
00:40:12.820 across the country
00:40:13.620 and it is going
00:40:14.660 to make it
00:40:15.380 more dangerous
00:40:16.280 for the rest
00:40:16.920 of the citizenry
00:40:17.680 if this is going on.
00:40:18.980 So,
00:40:19.600 am I supposed
00:40:20.300 to believe then
00:40:21.320 that SWAT
00:40:22.380 is now going to stand
00:40:23.520 for social workers
00:40:24.720 and therapists?
00:40:26.760 Jeff,
00:40:27.400 I mean,
00:40:28.280 the insanity
00:40:29.360 that you are going
00:40:30.360 to send someone
00:40:31.560 labeled as a
00:40:32.740 violence interrupter
00:40:35.000 to go to a place
00:40:36.680 where gang members
00:40:37.800 are shooting
00:40:38.860 at each other,
00:40:39.500 that's bad enough,
00:40:40.360 right?
00:40:40.580 But then we have to worry
00:40:41.300 about the collateral damage
00:40:42.400 of innocent people
00:40:43.160 getting hurt
00:40:43.700 and we've got to send
00:40:44.900 people that are armed
00:40:46.100 and are trained
00:40:47.100 and are prepared
00:40:47.760 to deal with it.
00:40:49.120 And Jeff,
00:40:49.600 because of the
00:40:50.540 infinitesimal
00:40:52.060 amount of times
00:40:53.400 where there are bad cops,
00:40:55.040 they do exist
00:40:55.900 and there are cops
00:40:56.760 that make mistakes.
00:40:58.280 They do exist.
00:40:59.340 We're all fallible
00:41:00.060 human beings.
00:41:01.180 But let me give you
00:41:01.740 a couple numbers.
00:41:03.040 Every year in this country,
00:41:04.720 police kill
00:41:05.440 approximately
00:41:06.160 1,000 citizens
00:41:07.840 and that sounds
00:41:08.400 like a staggering number.
00:41:10.020 The vast majority
00:41:11.340 of them
00:41:11.840 are armed
00:41:12.820 and in an adversarial
00:41:14.260 position
00:41:14.820 against a police officer.
00:41:16.180 They are righteous
00:41:16.840 shootings.
00:41:18.000 Every year,
00:41:18.800 approximately 30
00:41:19.940 or 40
00:41:20.820 people are considered
00:41:23.140 unarmed.
00:41:23.920 Now,
00:41:24.120 just because they're
00:41:24.860 unarmed,
00:41:25.400 Jeff,
00:41:25.540 doesn't mean
00:41:26.020 that they didn't
00:41:26.500 pick up a stick.
00:41:27.800 They didn't try
00:41:28.480 to wrest away
00:41:29.240 an officer's handgun
00:41:30.620 or taser.
00:41:31.880 They didn't fight
00:41:32.740 and struggle violently.
00:41:34.700 But Jeff,
00:41:35.400 to date right now
00:41:36.500 in this country,
00:41:37.400 right,
00:41:37.940 39 unarmed people,
00:41:40.340 quote unquote,
00:41:40.680 unarmed,
00:41:41.400 in the United States
00:41:42.160 have been shot
00:41:42.640 and killed by police.
00:41:43.660 And let me give you
00:41:44.240 the number
00:41:44.600 and the breakdown
00:41:45.140 to dispel
00:41:45.960 the Black Lives Matter
00:41:47.780 trope and false narrative.
00:41:49.880 17 of those people
00:41:51.100 were white,
00:41:52.360 12 were African American,
00:41:54.000 6 were Hispanic,
00:41:54.880 one was other,
00:41:55.800 and three were unknown.
00:41:57.040 So this notion
00:41:57.940 that racist cops
00:41:59.680 are out there,
00:42:00.440 you know,
00:42:00.880 indiscriminately hunting
00:42:02.000 down young men of color
00:42:03.300 and shooting them
00:42:04.400 for sport,
00:42:05.480 Jeff,
00:42:05.860 it's a trope.
00:42:06.880 It's a calumny.
00:42:08.240 It's a canard.
00:42:09.100 It's just,
00:42:09.760 it is so totally untrue
00:42:11.440 when you look
00:42:12.260 at the numbers.
00:42:12.840 And someone may push back
00:42:14.500 a statistician
00:42:15.320 and say,
00:42:15.680 yeah,
00:42:15.960 Jimmy,
00:42:16.260 but you're not factoring
00:42:17.380 in population percentages.
00:42:19.520 African Americans
00:42:20.160 only make up
00:42:20.820 12 to 13%
00:42:21.820 of our population.
00:42:22.940 And that way,
00:42:24.040 if you look at those numbers,
00:42:25.840 they're being killed,
00:42:27.080 quote unquote,
00:42:27.800 unarmed at a higher rate.
00:42:29.780 Jeff,
00:42:30.240 we all don't offend the same.
00:42:32.120 And when you look
00:42:32.780 at patterns of offending,
00:42:34.300 which is an uncomfortable topic
00:42:36.180 that people don't want to,
00:42:37.900 they don't want to deal with
00:42:39.040 because it's like touching
00:42:39.980 the third rail of the subway.
00:42:42.220 If you look at patterns
00:42:43.740 of offending,
00:42:44.820 unfortunately,
00:42:45.600 we don't offend the same.
00:42:47.260 The numbers just are,
00:42:48.580 52% of all violent crime
00:42:51.400 in this country
00:42:51.960 is committed
00:42:52.460 by about 6%
00:42:53.480 of the population,
00:42:54.800 African American men.
00:42:56.320 Now,
00:42:56.820 just like we should be
00:42:58.340 sensitive to this fact
00:42:59.740 and not paint
00:43:01.600 with a broad brush,
00:43:02.940 that's what's happening
00:43:03.920 on the police end.
00:43:05.640 800,000 good cops out there.
00:43:07.820 We do have a handful of cops.
00:43:09.480 We do have bad apples.
00:43:10.500 They do need to be rooted out.
00:43:12.460 They do need to be indicted
00:43:13.620 and prosecuted.
00:43:14.580 And they do need
00:43:15.320 to face justice.
00:43:16.140 There's no doubt about it.
00:43:17.320 But we need to be
00:43:18.140 equally inclined
00:43:20.040 to be less bigoted
00:43:21.360 and intolerant
00:43:22.280 when we look at a profession
00:43:23.340 and we smear it
00:43:24.300 the way that we're accused
00:43:25.400 of doing the other way.
00:43:26.640 Jimmy Galliano
00:43:27.760 is joining us
00:43:28.820 on the Glenn Beck program.
00:43:30.520 I'm Jeff Katz
00:43:31.280 filling in for Glenn.
00:43:33.100 Jimmy is a retired
00:43:34.360 supervisory special agent
00:43:36.060 from the FBI
00:43:36.840 and is without question
00:43:39.260 one of the nation's
00:43:40.060 premier experts
00:43:40.860 as we talk about
00:43:42.820 police shootings
00:43:43.900 and violence.
00:43:45.500 But Jimmy,
00:43:46.320 there's this violence
00:43:47.160 that is being enabled.
00:43:49.180 The violence
00:43:49.940 which is being directed
00:43:51.080 at law enforcement officers
00:43:53.060 I think is inexcusable.
00:43:55.440 And in addition to that
00:43:56.600 I have to ask the question
00:43:58.660 can we as a society
00:44:01.120 actually survive that?
00:44:03.580 If we are not
00:44:04.980 respecting law enforcement
00:44:06.200 if we've got
00:44:06.900 district attorneys
00:44:08.780 and commonwealth's attorneys
00:44:10.420 and states attorneys
00:44:11.600 all over America going
00:44:12.540 yeah we're not going to
00:44:13.460 prosecute these crimes anymore.
00:44:14.740 Nah go do what you want.
00:44:15.860 Here in Virginia
00:44:17.660 we've got a governor
00:44:18.660 who just
00:44:19.620 well I'll get into it
00:44:21.620 at some point
00:44:22.040 but he decided
00:44:22.800 you know what
00:44:23.400 we're not going to have
00:44:24.980 these no-knock warrants anymore
00:44:26.200 and you don't have to
00:44:27.940 have your headlights on
00:44:28.800 while you're driving
00:44:29.480 down the road
00:44:30.080 and you think
00:44:30.500 you're crazy
00:44:31.680 you are just insane
00:44:33.740 the country
00:44:35.000 the society
00:44:35.940 dies if we allow that
00:44:37.700 doesn't it?
00:44:39.540 Yeah
00:44:39.760 and you know
00:44:40.580 we are a reactive
00:44:42.880 and a reflexive
00:44:44.680 society by nature
00:44:46.060 Jeff
00:44:46.380 and what I mean
00:44:46.980 by that is
00:44:47.560 my first year
00:44:48.540 in the FBI
00:44:49.100 in 1991
00:44:50.460 I was
00:44:51.000 you know
00:44:51.960 grew up in Georgia
00:44:52.800 I was stationed
00:44:53.560 in New York City
00:44:54.760 and at the end
00:44:55.820 of 1990
00:44:56.540 right after I arrived
00:44:58.080 that city suffered
00:44:59.540 just an
00:45:00.080 just an
00:45:00.600 just an insane
00:45:02.000 amount of homicides
00:45:03.140 the highest
00:45:03.780 in the city's history
00:45:04.660 2,262 of them
00:45:07.420 now
00:45:08.140 here we are now
00:45:09.360 almost three decades
00:45:10.380 later right
00:45:11.140 and we all know
00:45:12.040 we've heard about
00:45:12.780 you know
00:45:13.080 William Bratton
00:45:14.000 and Ray Kelly
00:45:15.680 and Rudy Giuliani
00:45:16.960 as mayor
00:45:17.420 and what was done
00:45:18.180 by employing
00:45:18.940 some policing
00:45:19.560 methodologies
00:45:20.260 that I'm sure
00:45:21.200 your listeners
00:45:21.660 are aware of
00:45:22.200 like broken
00:45:22.740 windows policing
00:45:23.560 which says
00:45:24.140 if you don't allow
00:45:25.520 small crimes
00:45:26.340 to proliferate
00:45:27.140 it sends a message
00:45:28.560 that means
00:45:29.520 the bigger crimes
00:45:30.620 won't be allowed
00:45:31.320 to occur either
00:45:32.400 and so there were
00:45:33.600 crackdowns
00:45:34.340 and when
00:45:35.060 CompStat was used
00:45:36.300 where police resources
00:45:37.600 were moved around
00:45:38.300 to where they were needed
00:45:39.560 and we just didn't put
00:45:40.580 one cop in this neighborhood
00:45:42.260 one in this neighborhood
00:45:43.120 we looked at where
00:45:44.240 the crime was
00:45:45.200 it wasn't racially driven
00:45:46.620 it was driven by
00:45:47.580 what the crime statistics were
00:45:49.120 we also used
00:45:50.440 stop question and frisk
00:45:51.680 and stop question and frisk
00:45:52.900 was upheld years ago
00:45:54.420 by the Supreme Court
00:45:55.460 and it basically says
00:45:56.280 that if an officer
00:45:57.040 has a reasonable suspicion
00:45:58.500 that someone
00:45:59.500 has committed a crime
00:46:00.720 is in the process
00:46:01.900 of committing a crime
00:46:02.800 or is about to
00:46:03.940 commit a crime
00:46:04.600 they can be
00:46:05.680 reasonably stopped
00:46:07.220 and detained
00:46:07.980 and questioned
00:46:08.980 and if an officer
00:46:10.020 believes they are armed
00:46:11.120 they can be patted down
00:46:12.680 well
00:46:13.300 we have thrown
00:46:14.560 the baby out
00:46:15.260 with the bath water
00:46:16.060 when de Blasio
00:46:16.880 rode into office
00:46:17.740 as a reformer
00:46:19.280 of the police
00:46:19.900 in New York City
00:46:20.640 in 2012
00:46:21.600 what did he do?
00:46:23.460 he basically
00:46:24.200 tore the system down
00:46:25.540 what has happened?
00:46:27.080 well
00:46:27.380 1990
00:46:28.480 2,262 homicides
00:46:30.900 over the last few years
00:46:32.620 this has been down
00:46:33.620 to 300
00:46:34.820 a huge
00:46:35.700 95% reduction
00:46:37.100 in homicides
00:46:37.700 the vast majority
00:46:38.860 of those victims
00:46:39.460 are black and brown people
00:46:40.580 and their lives matter
00:46:41.560 but now
00:46:42.600 there has been
00:46:43.540 an uptick
00:46:44.000 in violent crime
00:46:44.740 in New York City
00:46:45.420 criminals can walk around
00:46:47.200 wearing a pistol
00:46:48.220 knowing they cannot
00:46:49.120 be stopped
00:46:49.760 and questioned
00:46:50.320 because cops
00:46:51.320 are too afraid
00:46:52.500 of the intense
00:46:53.340 hyper
00:46:54.180 uber scrutiny
00:46:55.340 that is going to have
00:46:56.100 every move
00:46:57.320 that they make
00:46:58.040 and so what has this done?
00:46:59.600 it's made
00:47:00.160 the neighborhoods
00:47:01.080 that are desperately
00:47:02.000 in need of police
00:47:03.080 and Jeff
00:47:03.800 recent studies
00:47:04.880 have shown
00:47:05.400 81%
00:47:06.940 of people of color
00:47:08.600 in their neighborhoods
00:47:09.680 want the same amount
00:47:11.140 or additional
00:47:12.340 police presence
00:47:13.360 they don't want
00:47:14.560 to abolish the police
00:47:15.700 they don't want
00:47:16.340 to defund the police
00:47:17.160 now
00:47:17.780 they don't want
00:47:18.780 to be brutalized
00:47:19.660 they don't want
00:47:20.200 to be disrespected
00:47:21.080 they don't want
00:47:21.760 to feel like
00:47:22.220 they're living
00:47:22.600 in a militarized zone
00:47:24.320 and there's an
00:47:24.760 occupying army there
00:47:25.800 and that's something
00:47:26.480 that we in law enforcement
00:47:27.520 have to fix
00:47:28.420 and bridge the gap
00:47:29.700 but Jeff
00:47:30.580 we need more policing
00:47:32.060 we need better policing
00:47:33.660 police reform
00:47:34.560 is not a bad concept
00:47:36.320 it is a good concept
00:47:37.740 but that's not
00:47:38.820 where we're going
00:47:39.400 to your point
00:47:40.000 the pendulum
00:47:40.560 is swung
00:47:41.020 in the other direction
00:47:41.860 and until the crime stats
00:47:43.600 go off the charts
00:47:44.500 and we lose
00:47:45.340 a lot more innocent people
00:47:46.780 it's going to take a while
00:47:48.180 before we course correct
00:47:49.360 unbelievable
00:47:50.560 Jimmy
00:47:50.940 I can't thank you enough
00:47:52.620 for being here
00:47:53.340 I want to remind everybody
00:47:54.480 to stay in touch
00:47:56.040 with Jimmy
00:47:56.540 a wonderful website
00:47:57.740 jamesagaleano.com
00:48:00.100 jamesagaleano.com
00:48:03.600 I am Jeff Katz
00:48:05.100 so fortunate today
00:48:06.420 to be filling in
00:48:07.060 for Glenn
00:48:07.480 this is
00:48:08.360 the Glenn Beck program
00:48:09.700 this is the Glenn Beck program
00:48:23.880 Jeff Katz
00:48:24.720 filling in for Glenn today
00:48:26.260 thanks again to Jimmy
00:48:27.220 Galeano
00:48:27.680 jamesagaleano.com
00:48:29.520 is his website
00:48:30.440 you know
00:48:31.100 you listen to what
00:48:31.780 Jimmy has to say
00:48:32.580 about how
00:48:33.240 law enforcement officers
00:48:34.820 are being treated
00:48:35.560 and there's going to be
00:48:36.380 a segment of us
00:48:37.340 who say
00:48:37.600 wait a minute Katz
00:48:39.080 look
00:48:39.320 I'm not a cop
00:48:40.320 don't really care
00:48:41.200 just want them to show up
00:48:42.480 when there's trouble
00:48:43.120 alright I got it
00:48:44.180 but what happens
00:48:46.160 if you
00:48:46.600 you continually
00:48:47.600 see this
00:48:48.420 this bat crap
00:48:49.480 crazy legislation
00:48:50.860 passed into law
00:48:52.500 that says
00:48:53.120 we don't really care
00:48:54.480 if somebody
00:48:54.920 beats up a cop
00:48:55.720 we don't really care
00:48:56.520 if somebody attacks
00:48:57.400 one of those
00:48:58.420 deputy sheriffs
00:48:59.640 or state troopers
00:49:00.360 that's their problem
00:49:01.160 not ours
00:49:01.700 well I got news for you
00:49:02.620 they stop coming
00:49:04.600 at some point
00:49:05.600 and the only way
00:49:06.820 the only way
00:49:08.520 that we are going to be able
00:49:09.460 to combat that
00:49:10.460 is to be brutally honest
00:49:11.940 I'll give you another example
00:49:13.460 of a degree
00:49:14.620 of brutally honest
00:49:16.360 remember Helen Keller
00:49:17.900 right
00:49:19.280 you know who Helen Keller
00:49:20.500 was
00:49:21.380 Helen Keller
00:49:22.800 was blind
00:49:24.480 she was deaf
00:49:26.560 and somehow
00:49:27.940 some way
00:49:29.760 even though she lost
00:49:31.980 her sight
00:49:32.600 and she lost
00:49:33.400 her hearing
00:49:34.100 when she was
00:49:34.720 19 months old
00:49:36.380 she had these
00:49:38.680 these tremendous
00:49:39.620 disabilities
00:49:40.420 there were no
00:49:41.900 resources
00:49:43.000 Helen Keller
00:49:45.420 would become
00:49:47.220 an American
00:49:48.860 hero
00:49:50.560 Helen Keller
00:49:52.320 would go on
00:49:53.300 to show
00:49:53.880 everyone
00:49:54.540 you can do it
00:49:56.920 now are there
00:49:57.960 the same levels
00:49:58.920 of success
00:49:59.540 no of course not
00:50:00.760 that's part of
00:50:02.060 the beauty of America
00:50:03.060 we don't have
00:50:03.960 the same outcome
00:50:05.300 guaranteed
00:50:05.980 we've got the
00:50:07.620 opportunity
00:50:08.440 well Helen Keller
00:50:09.540 was thrown
00:50:12.260 just a
00:50:13.280 bucket of
00:50:14.240 problems
00:50:14.920 here's another one
00:50:15.720 here's another one
00:50:16.320 here's another one
00:50:17.040 and she said
00:50:17.960 okay
00:50:18.420 alright
00:50:20.000 she
00:50:21.680 she raised
00:50:22.620 millions and millions
00:50:23.780 of dollars
00:50:24.440 to help people
00:50:25.840 who are disabled
00:50:26.560 she published
00:50:28.160 12 books
00:50:29.400 she wrote
00:50:31.140 and published
00:50:32.260 12 books
00:50:34.280 and I think
00:50:35.940 to myself
00:50:36.320 yeah I'm hoping
00:50:37.300 I can read
00:50:38.320 this post
00:50:39.800 that's like
00:50:40.340 200 characters
00:50:41.580 long
00:50:42.000 she did all
00:50:43.740 of this
00:50:44.220 she went on
00:50:45.580 to graduate
00:50:46.140 from Radcliffe
00:50:47.460 it's kind of
00:50:48.980 harbored now
00:50:49.780 and she's
00:50:51.360 attacked
00:50:52.060 she's being
00:50:53.180 attacked
00:50:53.780 who in
00:50:54.780 their right
00:50:55.200 mind
00:50:55.740 attacks
00:50:56.880 Helen Keller
00:50:57.960 well
00:50:59.160 in this day
00:51:00.600 and age
00:51:01.080 nobody
00:51:01.900 nobody
00:51:02.780 is safe
00:51:04.480 Helen Keller
00:51:06.620 is now being
00:51:07.920 described
00:51:08.340 as simply
00:51:09.640 another
00:51:11.320 privileged
00:51:13.460 white
00:51:14.560 person
00:51:15.200 now
00:51:16.920 Helen Keller
00:51:17.880 may have been a lot
00:51:18.580 of things
00:51:19.160 but privileged
00:51:21.120 how on earth
00:51:23.360 does anyone
00:51:24.140 in their right
00:51:24.760 mind
00:51:25.020 and maybe
00:51:25.300 that's the
00:51:25.740 key point
00:51:26.340 you can't
00:51:27.860 be in your
00:51:28.580 right mind
00:51:29.720 and say
00:51:30.020 oh Helen Keller
00:51:30.700 man
00:51:31.040 boy
00:51:31.580 did she
00:51:32.800 hit the
00:51:33.200 life lottery
00:51:33.860 huh
00:51:34.200 she was
00:51:35.220 so lucky
00:51:36.540 she had
00:51:37.540 all of these
00:51:38.180 advantages
00:51:38.760 and man
00:51:39.600 she just
00:51:40.020 wrote them
00:51:40.360 for all
00:51:40.720 this was
00:51:41.080 worth
00:51:41.440 look
00:51:42.800 I'm the
00:51:43.160 father
00:51:43.560 to a
00:51:44.120 severely
00:51:44.700 disabled
00:51:45.400 little
00:51:45.700 girl
00:51:46.020 and
00:51:47.400 and Julia
00:51:48.240 is never
00:51:49.660 going to
00:51:49.900 write a
00:51:50.240 book
00:51:50.520 Julia
00:51:51.880 is never
00:51:52.140 going to
00:51:52.360 read a
00:51:52.700 book
00:51:53.000 Julia
00:51:54.980 is never
00:51:55.380 going to
00:51:55.580 go to
00:51:55.780 college
00:51:56.300 Julia
00:51:57.600 is going
00:51:57.840 to live
00:51:58.200 at home
00:51:58.860 with us
00:52:00.160 forever
00:52:01.200 and ever
00:52:01.700 and when
00:52:02.740 we're gone
00:52:03.340 somebody else
00:52:04.020 is going
00:52:04.260 to have
00:52:04.520 to take
00:52:05.160 care of
00:52:05.580 her
00:52:05.780 so I
00:52:07.700 I do
00:52:08.240 wonder
00:52:08.620 though
00:52:08.980 would the
00:52:09.960 same
00:52:10.240 sort
00:52:10.700 of
00:52:11.260 lunacy
00:52:13.180 describe
00:52:14.220 my Julia
00:52:15.080 as a
00:52:16.100 privileged
00:52:17.300 white
00:52:18.460 person
00:52:19.420 I don't
00:52:21.380 see any
00:52:21.940 privileges
00:52:23.020 for her
00:52:24.100 I see
00:52:25.380 problems
00:52:26.260 and obstacles
00:52:27.240 and challenges
00:52:28.340 and difficulties
00:52:29.560 now Julia
00:52:31.920 is fortunate
00:52:33.580 I'll brag
00:52:35.260 a little bit
00:52:35.740 here
00:52:36.040 Julia's got
00:52:37.140 the best
00:52:37.560 mom on
00:52:38.120 the planet
00:52:38.600 and you
00:52:39.460 know I
00:52:39.700 do my
00:52:40.080 part if I
00:52:40.580 can
00:52:40.920 maybe
00:52:43.240 maybe that's
00:52:44.280 where she
00:52:44.580 won
00:52:45.100 but how
00:52:46.700 can anybody
00:52:47.460 think about
00:52:49.280 a Helen Keller
00:52:50.740 or a Julia
00:52:51.900 Katz and say
00:52:52.680 oh yeah
00:52:53.080 yeah
00:52:53.460 privilege
00:52:54.500 that's the
00:52:55.620 example of
00:52:56.360 privilege
00:52:56.760 that's where
00:52:57.620 we're headed
00:52:57.960 by the way
00:52:58.480 and I want
00:52:59.460 us to
00:52:59.900 examine this
00:53:01.220 a little bit
00:53:01.640 more
00:53:01.800 because I
00:53:02.280 don't know
00:53:02.660 how we
00:53:03.360 the American
00:53:04.680 culture
00:53:05.340 the American
00:53:06.080 society
00:53:06.720 the American
00:53:07.320 people
00:53:07.960 move forward
00:53:09.440 when we're
00:53:10.500 labeling
00:53:10.980 Helen Keller
00:53:12.460 privileged
00:53:14.220 Julia Katz
00:53:15.900 privileged
00:53:17.300 888-727-BECK
00:53:19.620 888-727-BECK
00:53:21.780 this is Jeff
00:53:22.340 Katz
00:53:22.780 sitting in
00:53:23.580 today for
00:53:24.020 Glenn on
00:53:24.740 the Glenn
00:53:25.660 Beck
00:53:25.840 program
00:53:26.320 it is the
00:53:39.020 Glenn Beck
00:53:39.660 program
00:53:40.400 Jeff Katz
00:53:41.360 sitting in
00:53:41.780 today for
00:53:42.360 Glenn
00:53:42.780 so happy
00:53:43.480 to be
00:53:43.860 here
00:53:44.240 number of
00:53:45.960 folks
00:53:46.200 reaching out
00:53:46.840 on Facebook
00:53:47.220 saying Jeff
00:53:47.640 wait a minute
00:53:48.020 did I just
00:53:48.620 hear you say
00:53:49.440 that somebody
00:53:49.920 described Helen
00:53:50.720 Keller as
00:53:51.280 another privileged
00:53:52.040 white person
00:53:53.000 yes yes you
00:53:53.780 did
00:53:54.060 and that
00:53:55.760 is one of
00:53:56.200 the stories
00:53:56.620 you're going
00:53:56.880 to find
00:53:57.240 posted if
00:53:57.980 you go to
00:53:58.560 glennbeck.com
00:54:00.380 or theblaze.com
00:54:01.780 it's all up
00:54:02.440 there it's it's
00:54:03.080 where I stop
00:54:03.740 each and every
00:54:04.280 morning you've
00:54:04.820 got to take a
00:54:05.420 look at this
00:54:05.800 stuff it's
00:54:06.120 outrageous I
00:54:07.720 talked about
00:54:08.160 my daughter
00:54:08.760 Julia Katz
00:54:10.200 is hardly
00:54:10.560 privileged right
00:54:12.420 Julia only
00:54:13.880 learned how to
00:54:14.440 walk in I
00:54:15.760 guess the last
00:54:16.380 couple of
00:54:17.620 years last few
00:54:18.900 years Julia
00:54:19.940 is 17
00:54:20.560 Julia functions
00:54:22.940 at the level
00:54:23.540 of an 18
00:54:24.040 month old
00:54:24.820 and that's
00:54:25.780 it all right
00:54:27.000 there's not
00:54:27.360 going to be
00:54:27.660 one morning
00:54:28.400 where all of
00:54:28.960 a sudden she
00:54:29.780 wakes up and
00:54:30.500 says hey
00:54:31.400 dad you know
00:54:32.520 what I was
00:54:34.100 just slumming
00:54:34.940 it for a little
00:54:35.420 bit but I'm
00:54:36.140 here I'm I'm
00:54:37.660 18 now and
00:54:38.660 everything is
00:54:39.060 just fine okay
00:54:40.720 Julia is going
00:54:43.480 to be with us
00:54:44.160 forever and
00:54:44.780 ever so
00:54:46.320 privilege is
00:54:47.880 hardly the word
00:54:48.540 that I would
00:54:48.940 associate with
00:54:49.440 it but you
00:54:49.700 have to
00:54:49.880 understand
00:54:50.100 something this
00:54:50.940 is the news
00:54:52.700 speak right
00:54:53.960 these are
00:54:54.680 folks who
00:54:55.280 are telling
00:54:55.900 you on a
00:54:56.820 regular basis
00:54:57.600 don't believe
00:54:58.540 your lying
00:54:59.020 eyes listen
00:54:59.680 to me I'm
00:55:01.020 going to tell
00:55:01.300 you what you
00:55:01.700 should think
00:55:02.140 how you
00:55:02.520 should think
00:55:03.040 when you
00:55:03.980 should think
00:55:04.400 it let me
00:55:04.680 give you one
00:55:05.080 quick example
00:55:05.760 here do you
00:55:06.240 remember Brian
00:55:06.820 Williams Brian
00:55:08.420 Williams was all
00:55:09.120 the rage for a
00:55:09.820 while right he
00:55:10.320 was one of
00:55:10.720 these like the
00:55:11.200 chief news
00:55:12.000 reader on
00:55:12.780 MSNBC and
00:55:14.100 now he's been
00:55:14.580 bumped down to
00:55:15.700 I don't know
00:55:16.620 one of the ones
00:55:17.140 with with a
00:55:17.620 whole bunch of
00:55:18.260 letters we've
00:55:18.820 got a little
00:55:19.140 snippet of
00:55:20.040 Brian Williams
00:55:21.020 it was one
00:55:24.660 year ago today
00:55:25.640 a group of
00:55:26.300 anti-Trump
00:55:27.200 Republicans wrote
00:55:28.380 this op-ed in
00:55:29.560 the New York
00:55:30.060 Times announcing
00:55:31.120 something new
00:55:31.940 called the
00:55:33.060 Lincoln Project
00:55:33.800 and remember
00:55:35.340 Brian Williams
00:55:36.400 under enemy
00:55:37.760 fire was right
00:55:39.020 there to help
00:55:40.100 them launch that
00:55:41.740 project who
00:55:42.880 are you going to
00:55:43.220 believe me or
00:55:44.540 your lying eyes
00:55:45.300 I'm ordinarily
00:55:46.520 heard in
00:55:47.280 central Virginia
00:55:48.180 not too far
00:55:49.080 outside of
00:55:49.660 Washington DC
00:55:50.340 news radio
00:55:51.100 WRVA in
00:55:52.160 Richmond Virginia
00:55:52.940 I mentioned
00:55:54.660 that we've
00:55:56.140 seen our
00:55:56.820 monuments on
00:55:57.600 Monument Avenue
00:55:58.320 destroyed this
00:55:59.320 past summer
00:56:00.080 as there was
00:56:01.020 violence and
00:56:01.700 craziness all
00:56:02.400 over the
00:56:02.760 country guess
00:56:03.360 what happened
00:56:04.780 in a moderate
00:56:06.240 sized community
00:56:07.340 didn't get the
00:56:08.280 same sort of
00:56:08.840 attention but I
00:56:09.520 got news for
00:56:10.200 you this is
00:56:11.680 the lesson
00:56:12.340 this is the
00:56:13.520 one you got to
00:56:14.060 look at and
00:56:14.400 go oh
00:56:15.180 that's what
00:56:16.580 they're up to
00:56:17.260 yeah tearing
00:56:19.000 down monuments
00:56:19.780 eliminates discussion
00:56:21.460 of the people who
00:56:23.080 were featured on
00:56:23.720 the monuments it
00:56:24.780 keeps you from
00:56:25.480 examining the
00:56:26.560 actual history and
00:56:27.700 then you're told
00:56:28.240 oh no you just
00:56:28.760 believe this just
00:56:29.380 believe this just
00:56:30.040 believe this
00:56:30.760 888-727-BECK
00:56:34.040 888-727-BECK
00:56:35.660 let me grab
00:56:36.140 Steve who is in
00:56:36.900 North Carolina
00:56:37.500 hey Steve
00:56:38.040 welcome to the
00:56:39.380 Glenn Beck
00:56:39.780 program
00:56:40.260 well Jeff it's
00:56:42.240 nice talking to
00:56:43.020 you
00:56:43.280 yes sir my
00:56:44.080 pleasure
00:56:44.360 I just wanted
00:56:46.680 to mention that
00:56:47.460 I grew up in
00:56:48.440 Richmond too
00:56:49.140 for about 10
00:56:50.640 years
00:56:51.040 my dad was a
00:56:53.420 pastor there
00:56:54.060 I'm sure you've
00:56:54.860 heard of Glenn
00:56:55.300 Allen
00:56:55.580 of course
00:56:56.800 of course I'm
00:56:57.540 up in Ashland
00:56:58.840 my friends
00:56:59.400 oh okay
00:57:00.840 well I have
00:57:03.540 had this discussion
00:57:04.520 with quite a few
00:57:05.220 people and I
00:57:06.420 mentioned to him
00:57:07.200 about
00:57:07.580 I just mentioned
00:57:10.440 the word roots
00:57:11.300 yeah
00:57:12.220 and I'll say
00:57:14.940 can you tell
00:57:15.500 me about your
00:57:16.100 roots
00:57:16.520 now these are
00:57:17.500 people that are
00:57:18.060 different from me
00:57:18.700 that I ask that
00:57:19.360 question to
00:57:19.980 okay
00:57:20.720 and they're very
00:57:21.540 happy to hear
00:57:22.320 about roots
00:57:23.100 and it's not
00:57:24.560 just the program
00:57:25.440 but I want to
00:57:26.820 know about their
00:57:27.420 roots
00:57:27.840 then I want to
00:57:29.800 ask them I want
00:57:30.720 to ask them this
00:57:31.420 question I've done
00:57:32.160 this for years
00:57:32.940 and especially
00:57:34.200 during the time
00:57:35.060 that you know
00:57:35.760 all these places
00:57:36.920 are burning and
00:57:37.620 so forth
00:57:38.080 I said look
00:57:40.000 do you want
00:57:41.280 to know about
00:57:41.700 my roots
00:57:42.300 and then they
00:57:45.560 say to me
00:57:46.180 then they say
00:57:46.900 to me
00:57:47.140 well sure
00:57:47.660 and I'll say
00:57:50.000 my great great
00:57:53.420 grandfather died
00:57:54.520 in Gettysburg
00:57:55.380 and then they'll
00:57:58.260 ask me what is
00:57:59.140 Gettysburg
00:57:59.740 oh stop
00:58:01.100 no
00:58:01.560 no I'm not
00:58:03.040 kidding
00:58:03.280 and then I'll
00:58:04.640 say well what
00:58:05.120 are you talking
00:58:05.600 about
00:58:05.840 I said well
00:58:06.360 he fought in
00:58:07.520 the 57th
00:58:08.740 Virginia
00:58:09.160 he got shot
00:58:10.580 in the head
00:58:11.220 during Pickett's
00:58:12.380 Charge
00:58:12.720 I said have
00:58:13.400 you ever heard
00:58:14.480 of Pickett's
00:58:14.940 Charge
00:58:15.240 and they'll
00:58:15.600 say what's
00:58:17.160 that
00:58:17.500 so what
00:58:20.260 happens is
00:58:21.140 they become
00:58:22.440 very interested
00:58:23.260 in what I'm
00:58:23.680 talking about
00:58:24.320 okay
00:58:25.200 these are the
00:58:26.360 same people
00:58:27.140 that should
00:58:27.640 be upset
00:58:28.360 yes
00:58:29.520 yes
00:58:30.820 when you talk
00:58:31.840 about when you
00:58:32.540 talk about the
00:58:33.300 roots in that
00:58:34.740 way they're
00:58:35.860 interested in
00:58:36.480 knowing and
00:58:37.500 nobody ever
00:58:38.180 calls me a
00:58:38.780 racist when I
00:58:39.420 asked them
00:58:39.720 that
00:58:40.500 what a great
00:58:42.540 story
00:58:42.760 yeah
00:58:44.560 what a great
00:58:45.920 story Steve
00:58:46.480 I so appreciate
00:58:47.540 you calling the
00:58:48.120 Glenn Beck
00:58:48.560 program and
00:58:49.220 Steve hits on
00:58:50.380 it it is about
00:58:51.740 this conversation
00:58:52.600 I'm telling you
00:58:53.320 in Central
00:58:55.340 Virginia now for
00:58:56.240 eight years
00:58:57.160 and everybody
00:58:58.000 who's come to
00:58:58.740 visit my
00:59:00.020 first agenda
00:59:02.160 item for them
00:59:03.180 was to to
00:59:03.880 drive them up
00:59:04.560 and down
00:59:04.880 Monument Avenue
00:59:05.640 and I'm
00:59:05.920 telling you I
00:59:06.340 heard the same
00:59:06.760 joke look at
00:59:07.560 that a big
00:59:07.980 collection of
00:59:08.520 second place
00:59:09.080 trophies yeah
00:59:09.800 yeah yeah
00:59:10.200 got it got it
00:59:10.860 got it but
00:59:11.580 seriously let's
00:59:12.000 get out of the
00:59:12.380 car let's go see
00:59:13.500 who these guys
00:59:14.180 were who's this
00:59:15.440 person who's that
00:59:16.480 person well I
00:59:18.180 don't know well
00:59:19.080 what did they do I
00:59:19.960 don't know well
00:59:21.480 we've all got the
00:59:22.560 phone let's google
00:59:23.300 this and google that
00:59:24.100 and you go wow
00:59:24.700 and they're great
00:59:25.440 conversations and
00:59:26.480 frankly they're
00:59:27.560 debates but you
00:59:29.080 know what everybody
00:59:29.640 agrees on at the
00:59:30.560 end of it or at
00:59:31.080 least used to because
00:59:31.880 there's nothing to see
00:59:32.560 now it's it's it's
00:59:33.680 just it's it's
00:59:36.020 embarrassing and
00:59:36.920 it's appalling and
00:59:37.880 it's shameful but the
00:59:39.640 conversation used to
00:59:40.840 end invariably with
00:59:43.060 an agreement that
00:59:45.140 never again should
00:59:46.540 decent people let
00:59:48.700 people own other
00:59:51.260 human beings and
00:59:53.680 then you could talk
00:59:54.220 about other parts of
00:59:55.280 this this civil war war
00:59:57.940 between the states war
00:59:59.200 of northern aggression
01:00:00.000 there's a million
01:00:00.360 different titles for
01:00:01.120 right whatever it was
01:00:02.100 but there were there
01:00:03.760 were all sorts of
01:00:04.800 issues that needed to
01:00:05.860 be addressed there
01:00:06.600 there was an economic
01:00:07.840 issue that needed to
01:00:08.760 be addressed but
01:00:09.320 fundamentally decent
01:00:11.060 people that saw those
01:00:12.600 monuments on that
01:00:13.680 street we all came to
01:00:15.440 the same conclusion at
01:00:16.520 the end we all said
01:00:17.800 never again must can
01:00:20.240 we allow human beings
01:00:21.540 to own other human
01:00:22.780 beings you don't fix
01:00:26.000 problems in the past by
01:00:27.540 pretending they didn't
01:00:28.440 happen Maureen is down
01:00:30.740 in Florida Maureen welcome
01:00:32.180 to the Glenn Beck
01:00:32.840 program yeah a pleasure
01:00:35.760 to speak with you
01:00:37.060 thank you very much I
01:00:38.480 appreciate that
01:00:39.180 history and your
01:00:42.480 guests that I've
01:00:43.120 listened to since I've
01:00:44.120 been on hold they are
01:00:45.320 all incredible and they
01:00:46.740 all deserve honors and
01:00:49.920 John mentioned about
01:00:51.740 political people running
01:00:53.060 for political office
01:00:54.200 people to step up now
01:00:56.780 people who need to save
01:00:58.740 our country and say
01:00:59.720 this is what I'm running
01:01:00.720 for I'm running to save
01:01:02.000 my country but that's
01:01:03.640 not what started my
01:01:04.500 call okay I'm descended
01:01:07.800 from William the
01:01:08.600 Conqueror who goes down
01:01:10.700 to Mary Queen of Scots
01:01:11.940 of course the mother of
01:01:12.960 King James of the King
01:01:13.980 James Bible down to John
01:01:15.860 Smith on the Mayflower
01:01:17.360 and here I am today we
01:01:20.680 cannot erase history right
01:01:22.780 right our children need to
01:01:25.460 know where they come
01:01:26.700 from of course of course
01:01:29.880 Maureen that is that that
01:01:31.420 is so true and I
01:01:32.400 appreciate the call we
01:01:33.560 have to let people know
01:01:35.920 where we've been talk
01:01:38.900 about where we are and at
01:01:41.100 some point don't we think
01:01:42.300 okay so where are we
01:01:43.160 going you listen to Glenn on
01:01:44.980 a regular basis as I do and
01:01:46.500 what is Glenn talked about
01:01:47.580 recently this great reset
01:01:49.480 why we're just gonna we're
01:01:51.040 gonna change everything
01:01:52.100 we're gonna make your life
01:01:53.800 better but before your life
01:01:55.420 can be better we got to
01:01:57.120 take everything away from
01:01:57.860 you and you're not gonna
01:01:59.020 have anything and then
01:02:00.580 you're gonna be dependent
01:02:01.380 on the government but not
01:02:02.280 to worry it'll all be just
01:02:03.100 it'll be fine because what's
01:02:04.860 gonna happen here when the
01:02:05.880 bills come due the
01:02:06.960 government is gonna go out
01:02:08.100 and get a second job you
01:02:09.500 know you're gonna walk into
01:02:10.420 your local supermarket and
01:02:11.600 you might very well see
01:02:12.920 Nancy Pelosi on the
01:02:14.580 overnight shift she'll be
01:02:15.660 stocking the ice cream in
01:02:16.920 the in the freezer section
01:02:18.080 or or schmuck Schumer going
01:02:20.200 around putting up signs
01:02:21.260 near the the spills on the
01:02:22.760 floor lest anybody slip and
01:02:24.260 fall you know they're gonna
01:02:25.440 go out and get second job
01:02:26.700 so that we can all what
01:02:29.040 just luxuriate is that what
01:02:32.440 we're supposed to do is that
01:02:35.160 I mean really is that what we
01:02:36.920 were built for I get mocked
01:02:40.700 all the time well Jeff what
01:02:42.920 are you reading the Bible I
01:02:43.940 am well why are you reading
01:02:45.440 that well it's like an
01:02:46.340 owner's manual you know when
01:02:48.280 you think about it here's
01:02:50.120 gone going hey I made all
01:02:51.360 you folks here take a look
01:02:52.640 at this page seven that's
01:02:54.140 you and you know but what
01:02:57.380 are we supposed to do I
01:02:58.180 thought we're supposed to be
01:02:58.760 productive I thought we
01:03:00.640 could and should at least
01:03:03.480 did support those friends
01:03:06.100 and neighbors who have got
01:03:06.880 businesses I'm going to
01:03:07.600 talk more about it because
01:03:08.540 I'm telling you behind every
01:03:09.700 single local business every
01:03:12.000 name of a business there are
01:03:14.080 real honest to goodness
01:03:15.040 people that's what we have to
01:03:16.520 be concerned with and now
01:03:18.420 we've got the new
01:03:20.080 coronavirus vaccine right
01:03:23.280 we've got another one
01:03:24.040 coming out okay I want you
01:03:26.920 in just a moment to listen
01:03:28.380 to someone who attacks the
01:03:31.080 surgeon general of the
01:03:32.500 United States the surgeon
01:03:34.660 general of the United States
01:03:35.960 is explaining who should who
01:03:38.300 shouldn't when they should
01:03:40.000 when they shouldn't and
01:03:41.100 somebody whose main skill so
01:03:42.980 far as I can tell is reading
01:03:45.560 words that somebody else
01:03:46.980 wrote on a teleprompter she's
01:03:49.240 going to attack him wow all
01:03:52.980 that and continue continuing
01:03:55.900 attacks on law enforcement
01:03:58.120 keep defunding the police and
01:04:00.960 who you gonna call dominoes
01:04:02.460 when there's a problem I'm
01:04:04.140 telling you I mentioned this
01:04:05.460 earlier with my buddy Jimmy
01:04:06.540 Galeano retired supervisory
01:04:08.460 special agent from the FBI we
01:04:10.300 are getting to the point that
01:04:12.180 SWAT is going to stand for
01:04:14.120 social workers and therapists
01:04:16.660 remember you can always shoot
01:04:18.240 me an email man I'd love to
01:04:19.640 get some from you go to my
01:04:20.500 website djeffcatshow.com
01:04:22.240 djeffcatshow.com there's a
01:04:23.840 contact form there or you can
01:04:25.560 just shoot the email straight
01:04:26.500 jeff at djeffcatshow.com it is
01:04:30.000 Jeff Katz in today for Glenn this
01:04:32.200 is the Glenn Beck program
01:04:33.900 you're listening to Glenn Beck it is
01:04:41.040 the Glenn Beck program Jeff Katz
01:04:43.120 sitting in for Glenn today based in
01:04:47.140 central Virginia but I gotta tell
01:04:48.920 you something connected with friends
01:04:51.340 and family around America loving this
01:04:53.680 opportunity to visit with so many of
01:04:56.900 Glenn's wonderful listeners I mentioned
01:05:01.660 to you that that there's a woman on I
01:05:04.900 guess it is at CBS I want to get the
01:05:06.720 attribution right here Sundays was a
01:05:10.140 face the nation or meet the depressed
01:05:11.980 whatever it is I mean all of these
01:05:13.160 shows sort of blend together after a
01:05:14.820 while for me but but she she was
01:05:16.920 talking to the surgeon general of the
01:05:19.720 United States Dr. Jerome Adams I just
01:05:23.520 want you to take a listen to to to a
01:05:25.920 piece of this exchange but that same
01:05:28.680 study from the Kaiser Foundation shows
01:05:31.600 that this vaccine hesitancy cuts across
01:05:34.100 racial lines it also cuts across
01:05:36.240 political ones but I want to drill in
01:05:39.840 here because the highest amount of
01:05:42.080 hesitancy about taking the shot is from
01:05:44.280 Republicans 42 percent of course
01:05:46.300 according to Kaiser rural residents 35
01:05:50.060 percent wouldn't it help to persuade
01:05:52.840 those Republicans if the Republican
01:05:55.660 president himself came out to try to
01:05:58.440 persuade them to take the vaccine he
01:06:00.720 says he's so proud he fast-tracked do
01:06:04.280 you have plans to have President Trump
01:06:06.100 get a shot in the arm on camera from a
01:06:09.440 scientific point of view I will remind
01:06:11.580 people that the president has had
01:06:13.420 COVID within the last 90 days he
01:06:15.640 received the monoclonal antibodies and
01:06:17.480 that is actually one scenario where we
01:06:19.320 tell people maybe you should hold off on
01:06:21.560 getting the vaccine talk to your health
01:06:23.320 provider to find out the right time there
01:06:26.420 is a medical reason that doesn't make
01:06:28.560 you a politics aside it well it does
01:06:32.180 not but we know that monoclonal
01:06:33.540 antibodies if you've been administered
01:06:34.940 in them actually are a potential
01:06:37.480 reason why medically we would tell you
01:06:39.520 to hold off on the vaccination huh
01:06:42.100 Monica but hey hey how come nobody's
01:06:44.700 talking to my ear telling me exactly
01:06:46.160 what these these monochromic well
01:06:49.020 whatever they are he's a Republican and
01:06:51.320 and and Trump Trump Trump it's all Trump
01:06:54.460 Trump Trump I don't know what these
01:06:55.780 poor people are going to do if in fact
01:06:57.460 they really are successful in having
01:06:59.800 Joe Biden inaugurated on January the
01:07:03.140 20th by the way I still think we got to
01:07:04.880 go through January the 6th I don't know
01:07:06.660 there's still some details to be worked
01:07:08.480 out I'm just saying there there are a
01:07:12.240 few things that probably will be
01:07:13.960 discussed but you hear that right do you
01:07:18.280 hear the condescension it is just dripping
01:07:22.080 from her well I know better than you
01:07:24.520 are well you may be a medical doctor and
01:07:26.500 the surgeon general but but I'm reading
01:07:29.580 a teleprompter I'm sorry look you may
01:07:34.320 very well be a wonderful human being I
01:07:36.220 really hope you are I don't know who you
01:07:39.220 are and that's okay and you don't know
01:07:40.940 who I am and and we're you know no harm
01:07:43.160 no foul we're we're square on that but if
01:07:46.260 I'm gonna get advice on a medical issue I
01:07:48.820 think I'm gonna listen to the surgeon
01:07:50.080 general of the United States before I
01:07:51.960 listen to you and you can tell me that it
01:07:55.960 would inspire people like me you know the
01:07:58.020 great unwashed those stupid people and
01:08:00.020 flyover country why those people who was
01:08:03.520 it that was it was it was former President
01:08:05.080 Obama right guns and God or God and guns
01:08:07.980 you know we were the clingers and the part
01:08:11.200 of the basket of deplorables and the great
01:08:13.200 unwashed and well I got it you know they
01:08:16.520 are doing to people today what they've done
01:08:21.900 to good people in the past take a look at
01:08:25.100 the Supreme Court of the United States take
01:08:27.880 a look at Supreme Court Justice Clarence
01:08:30.420 Thomas a brilliant brilliant man who
01:08:34.840 achieved such amazing things and he's been
01:08:39.300 attacked and demeaned and pilloried since
01:08:43.980 day one think about that by the way
01:08:48.300 Clarence Thomas pops to mind because I
01:08:50.580 just watched a couple of weeks ago the
01:08:52.400 movie created equal created equal Clarence
01:08:55.860 Thomas in his own words it is all over the
01:08:58.700 place I think it was like a buck to rent it
01:09:01.120 on Amazon or Netflix oh you've got to rent it
01:09:04.040 it is an amazing amazing film Jeff Katz
01:09:08.500 filling in today for Glenn this is the
01:09:11.480 Glenn Beck program pushing that great
01:09:15.220 reset button we are watching small local
01:09:18.720 businesses get killed off a $300 bonus
01:09:22.340 for the unemployed oh and by the way where
01:09:25.220 is the flu this year answers next on the
01:09:28.900 Glenn Beck program this is the Glenn Beck
01:09:31.940 program Jeff Katz in today for Glenn Beck
01:09:39.340 on the Glenn Beck program it is an
01:09:42.420 interesting week is it not folks getting
01:09:44.900 ready for Christmas are we still allowed
01:09:46.780 to say that we are right we can still
01:09:48.860 say that we're getting ready for
01:09:50.420 Christmas I'm one of those folks who is
01:09:52.760 not offended when you wish me a Merry
01:09:55.060 Christmas I hate the weasel populace well
01:09:58.320 Jeff I didn't want to offend you I mean I
01:09:59.720 know you're Jewish you know really you
01:10:01.880 know how you offend me when you say Jeff
01:10:04.000 I'd like to kick you in your shins
01:10:05.440 repeatedly that bothers me Merry Christmas
01:10:08.000 is completely and totally motivated by
01:10:09.860 the right things let me ask you to think
01:10:12.700 for a moment about our small businesses
01:10:16.200 and you know I I'm hesitant to use the
01:10:19.320 word small now I know we use the word
01:10:21.500 small because we're comparing them to the
01:10:23.100 multinationals right the guy that that
01:10:26.760 has the the store at the end of the
01:10:29.960 street it's not the same as Exxon
01:10:33.460 mobile or some other multinational
01:10:36.140 corporation so that's why we call them
01:10:39.280 small but I think the real word is local
01:10:43.100 that's the word we've got to start using
01:10:46.160 somehow some way you and I have got to
01:10:48.220 figure out how we can start substituting
01:10:51.180 local for small and here's what I mean
01:10:52.980 we are now 10 months into the two-week
01:10:57.560 program to quote flatten the curve this
01:11:01.900 stopped being about flattening the curve a
01:11:05.340 long time ago didn't it I I understand we
01:11:09.340 all want to be healthy I understand nobody
01:11:13.140 wants to get sick I understand we don't
01:11:15.500 want our friends and neighbors getting any
01:11:19.100 sort of debilitating ailment I'm with you
01:11:21.720 on that there's no debate on that that's
01:11:24.080 not left or right short or tall Jew or
01:11:26.580 Gentile it just is but my question to you
01:11:30.820 is why are we seeing an all-out assault on
01:11:33.780 our local businesses let me give you two
01:11:36.740 examples and I've used these examples
01:11:38.660 time and time again as I I talked to my
01:11:41.340 friends and listeners here in Central
01:11:43.320 Virginia on News Radio WRVA from Richmond
01:11:47.140 I talk about two businesses all the time
01:11:50.480 and I talk about them because the folks
01:11:54.580 who own and operate those businesses have
01:11:56.420 become friends and I've been able to see up
01:11:59.780 close and personal what it takes to actually
01:12:03.760 own and operate a real business I got to
01:12:09.920 take my car in to get repaired and so I've
01:12:13.080 got this repair shop right certified auto
01:12:17.300 repair is the name of it you get it C-A-R
01:12:19.680 car certified auto repair and I look it up
01:12:23.120 and people I'm looking at the reviews and I
01:12:25.220 go all right certified auto repair and
01:12:27.420 Henrico that's where I'm gonna go because
01:12:30.120 they've got these great reviews and I had
01:12:35.480 become yeah I don't know sparring partner is
01:12:38.900 too strong a word with a man who owns and
01:12:41.900 operates the shop and now I referred to him
01:12:45.400 Stan Andruski as my brother from another
01:12:47.560 mother why because Stan understood the
01:12:50.320 appeal of Donald Trump candidate long before
01:12:53.600 I did and we got into these Facebook battles
01:12:57.660 and I was on the wrong side by the way let
01:13:00.240 me be very clear on that I could not
01:13:02.440 possibly have been more wrong if I tried
01:13:04.800 and I've tried I said oh no no come on Stan
01:13:09.100 he's you know a TV guy and I and Stan was
01:13:11.960 like no you don't get it he's a businessman
01:13:15.260 he's a businessman he understands as a
01:13:21.640 business owner as a business operator
01:13:24.120 how to be successful well is that what it's
01:13:29.700 all about Stan I asked about is that it is
01:13:32.000 it's just about the money no and we went
01:13:34.940 back and forth and had these great
01:13:36.400 discussions I got my car fixed in the
01:13:38.520 meantime and now I can't tell you we're
01:13:42.060 the best of friends because because we're
01:13:43.600 not friends I promoted Stan to family a
01:13:48.280 long time ago that's why I say my brother
01:13:51.160 from another mother so I tell you the name
01:13:53.760 of the business you go yeah well they're
01:13:55.420 they're a business owner they're all
01:13:56.780 millionaires you know it's like no that
01:13:59.600 business that's Stan and Megan they own
01:14:02.960 and operate that business so that they
01:14:04.540 can give their dream their American
01:14:07.960 dream some air some life they want to
01:14:10.700 achieve their American dream which is
01:14:12.840 owning and operating a world-class car
01:14:15.880 repair facility because Stan is like the
01:14:19.400 car whisperer he wants to give guys who
01:14:24.500 know how to turn wrenches the opportunity
01:14:26.620 to turn those wrenches and you see when
01:14:29.300 he gives those mechanics those auto techs
01:14:31.900 the opportunity to turn those wrenches you
01:14:34.500 know what they have to do they got to buy
01:14:36.140 more wrenches and that helps the guy who
01:14:39.440 is the wrench sales guy in the area and
01:14:42.720 you know who that helps it helps the
01:14:45.040 company that manufactures the wrenches and
01:14:47.960 you know who they employ men and women who
01:14:50.500 are working on the line making those
01:14:52.680 wrenches this is a big picture item why
01:14:56.780 are we trying everything it seems to
01:14:58.720 destroy a local business it makes no
01:15:02.520 sense to me I mentioned the the restaurant
01:15:06.680 my favorite restaurant is right up the
01:15:08.960 road I mean it is a mile and a half from
01:15:11.100 where I live and I don't know if you're
01:15:14.080 in Ashland Virginia go and visit Jake's
01:15:16.360 place there's a sandwich named for me how
01:15:18.240 cool is that but that's the name of the
01:15:23.000 business the real name Wendy and John
01:15:26.260 Wendy and John own and operate that
01:15:29.260 business Wendy and John break their rear
01:15:32.680 ends to to keep people working to keep
01:15:36.840 people eating to keep the lights on you
01:15:40.720 know who gets paid the last in any quote
01:15:43.520 small business it's that business owner
01:15:47.340 it's the stands and the Megans it's the
01:15:50.100 Wendy's and the John's it's the people
01:15:52.320 you and I live next to it's the people
01:15:55.300 you and I run into at high school football
01:15:58.800 games or or a church now of course we're
01:16:02.800 not actually allowed to go to church or
01:16:05.020 have high school football games but you
01:16:06.580 know back in the olden days when the when
01:16:08.720 the world was open before the zombie
01:16:10.400 apocalypse hit we did those things
01:16:13.340 didn't we and now what are we doing
01:16:17.300 you know I look at things around the
01:16:20.860 country and I know everybody sees the
01:16:22.380 big news stories right you've got you've
01:16:24.640 got the governor of California who says
01:16:26.500 everybody back to their houses hide under
01:16:29.260 your bed you're not allowed out of your
01:16:30.680 house oh by the way I'm gonna be over
01:16:32.500 here at the French laundry in case
01:16:33.960 anybody needs me I'm gonna be paying
01:16:36.040 $700 for dinner and hanging out with all
01:16:38.520 my good friends oh okay that makes
01:16:40.460 sense you've got the governor of Rhode
01:16:42.760 Island says everybody back to their
01:16:45.760 houses hide under your beds but if
01:16:47.360 anybody needs me I'm gonna be at this
01:16:49.180 big-time wine dinner hobnobbing with
01:16:52.020 other hobnobbers does that make any
01:16:56.420 sense to you and we're gonna say to our
01:17:00.200 neighbors hey we got more rules for you
01:17:02.520 here are the folks who have never owned
01:17:05.180 a business they've never operated a
01:17:07.060 business they they don't know anything
01:17:08.900 about your business but they're gonna
01:17:10.940 write rules and regulations that govern
01:17:13.060 it and you're not even gonna get to
01:17:14.880 follow them anyway because we're just
01:17:16.180 keeping everything closed what about this
01:17:18.720 makes sense I look at my kids right my
01:17:23.740 oldest guy is a sophomore at Stanford yeah
01:17:28.360 he's smart he's home why because they're
01:17:32.260 closed because they're closed nobody's on
01:17:34.940 campus and those people who are on campus
01:17:37.860 are actually doing classes from their
01:17:40.940 dorm room well why should you do that is
01:17:44.500 the mindset for a lot of folks so they're
01:17:46.540 back home and and my Julia my Julia is
01:17:52.100 severely disabled oh she's a wonderful
01:17:55.720 young lady believe me and you know I
01:17:58.680 don't have favorites amongst my children
01:18:00.640 although Julia is my favorite I love her
01:18:02.640 the most but Julia 17 years old functioning
01:18:08.820 at the level of an 18 month old she needs
01:18:12.080 to be in school she needs the special ed
01:18:16.020 teachers she needs the therapist to help
01:18:18.860 her so that she doesn't regress she gets a
01:18:23.140 half hour a day with my wife sitting there
01:18:27.180 and they look at the computer and that's that's
01:18:30.460 class does that make sense to anyone and my
01:18:34.960 little guy look my little guy is a great
01:18:37.180 guy but but he's academics are not his first
01:18:44.020 interest you know my oldest guy Harry would
01:18:47.920 get insulted I mean belligerent if we said to
01:18:52.480 him hey did you do your homework you say I've
01:18:54.900 got straight A's except for that time in
01:18:56.820 fourth grade where I got a B I was like did
01:18:59.900 he really I don't even remember that did
01:19:01.900 he go to fourth grade yeah yeah so that's
01:19:05.720 Harry was like oh I can't believe it don't
01:19:08.060 even ask me such a stupid question okay
01:19:09.680 never mind and then my little guy look I
01:19:13.400 love him Joe but Joe was the sort of kid
01:19:16.240 who looks at you and says oh was that due
01:19:19.540 today so Joe needs to be in school Joe's
01:19:24.760 gotta be with other kids but he's gotta be
01:19:28.880 with teachers instead he's in front of his
01:19:33.220 computer in his bedroom in his sweatpants
01:19:38.740 you know it all comes back to sweatpants
01:19:40.700 and I keep having to buy sweatpants because
01:19:43.720 I figured out COVID-19 that 19 is the number
01:19:48.360 of inches that my waist has grown since we've
01:19:51.280 been under this quarantine or whatever it
01:19:53.520 is because it's like well it's the end of
01:19:56.700 the world might as well have another bag of
01:19:58.800 chips we got any dip over there Jeff you got
01:20:02.200 half the thing of dip on your pants that's
01:20:04.900 why I'm wearing these pants now give me the
01:20:06.880 chips but I'm telling you he's got to be in
01:20:09.480 school he needs teachers he can't be sitting
01:20:11.440 in his room in his sweatpants doing work
01:20:16.120 online it's not the same but you know what
01:20:19.340 this all ties into it all ties into what
01:20:22.680 Glenn has told us about for for a while
01:20:25.460 now this great reset everybody's gonna be
01:20:28.740 gray or beige or or whatever that you know
01:20:32.880 the the the paint on the walls is when you
01:20:35.420 go in to look at a new home it's like
01:20:36.780 nothing there you know oh yeah it looks
01:20:38.520 like every other wall that's the point
01:20:40.200 you're not gonna be able to strive for
01:20:42.620 greatness you're not gonna be able to live
01:20:45.420 without your American dream you're gonna
01:20:48.500 believe everything your food spoon fed and
01:20:51.300 don't question anything and don't worry
01:20:53.940 about it we're here to help wow we'll talk
01:20:58.300 more about it 888-727-BECK 888-727-BECK I do
01:21:03.900 remind you about two of the best websites
01:21:05.760 anywhere glennbeck.com and theblaze.com make
01:21:10.300 sure you are checking those out a couple of
01:21:12.540 times each and every day if you want to
01:21:14.640 send me an email jeff at the jeffkatzshow.com
01:21:18.740 jeff at the jeffkatzshow.com it is jeffkatz in
01:21:24.260 for Glenn this is the Glenn Beck program
01:21:27.140 Jeff Katz in today for Glenn Beck the
01:21:43.140 Glenn Beck program the great reset that
01:21:46.360 Glenn has been talking about I've got news
01:21:48.280 for you well underway and it starts it seems
01:21:51.820 to me by eliminating those things that most
01:21:56.180 of us at least in the past have looked at
01:21:58.020 and said yes that's what America is all
01:22:00.800 about 888-727-BECK 888-727-BECK
01:22:06.980 William is in Texas William welcome to the
01:22:10.820 Glenn Beck program Jeff a great pleasure to
01:22:14.160 talk to you I actually have a couple of
01:22:16.280 comments but I wanted to start off with the
01:22:18.880 great reset I think that people are not
01:22:22.280 looking at this correctly we're using the
01:22:25.440 word great because it's global this is not
01:22:27.740 an American thing this is a global movement
01:22:30.100 and how do you get people to accept
01:22:33.940 socialism and corporate feudalism you got
01:22:37.080 to take away the prosperity and the security
01:22:40.320 you've got to break the middle class and
01:22:42.940 you've got to disrupt the police system okay
01:22:46.500 and also as far as the war monuments we
01:22:50.820 have a class of people that are basically
01:22:54.180 making a shakedown on the government they
01:22:56.860 are victims they do not look at those war
01:22:59.320 memorials and go 350,000 people made the
01:23:04.780 ultimate sacrifice for me to lay down their
01:23:07.700 lives and paid my reparation in blood yeah
01:23:12.140 yeah William those are such great points
01:23:15.900 and I so appreciate you calling the
01:23:17.780 Glenn Beck program and you're right the
01:23:20.400 word great may confuse people maybe we
01:23:22.740 shouldn't use anymore right global is the
01:23:24.380 global reset how did all of these leaders
01:23:27.680 I am making those annoying air quotes as I
01:23:30.280 said that all of these leaders all over
01:23:32.820 the world come up with exactly the same
01:23:34.820 phrase at the same time and get all of the
01:23:36.580 same material poster right builds back
01:23:39.300 better what does that mean I don't even
01:23:41.800 I seriously I don't even know what that
01:23:42.980 means how about just let American
01:23:47.300 entrepreneurs be you know entrepreneurial
01:23:50.400 Americans how about allowing each of us to
01:23:54.220 to live our lives doing the right thing see
01:23:58.040 for me that's part of this gotta tell you it's
01:24:01.480 not all about you know I've made enough
01:24:03.520 money now I'm gonna get six pairs of fur
01:24:07.180 lined boxer shorts and I'm gonna be the
01:24:10.940 happiest guy on the streets okay well I
01:24:13.400 mean if you got the money as you can do
01:24:14.500 that but it is about doing the right thing
01:24:17.340 and it's about taking care of people and
01:24:19.100 you know what I don't need the government
01:24:20.880 to come in and say hey hey you know that
01:24:23.380 that five dollars you stuck over that
01:24:25.920 we're taking no seriously we're taking
01:24:27.960 that because we know better than you do
01:24:29.480 what to do with your money but not to
01:24:31.280 worry we're helping well I'm helping on
01:24:34.380 my own but I I do appreciate the interest
01:24:36.760 Bruce is in Ohio hey Bruce welcome to the
01:24:39.440 Glenn Beck program
01:24:40.480 hey Jeff you're doing a great job filling in
01:24:44.580 for Glenn thank you sir
01:24:45.980 hey I was just thinking I thought this
01:24:49.520 long earlier this year but it's kind of
01:24:52.120 funny how Hollywood has been making movies
01:24:54.240 for years like Mr. Smith goes to
01:24:57.620 Washington you know the Matrix the shooter
01:25:01.880 you know the born supremacy all these
01:25:05.220 things about deep state corruption and
01:25:08.220 then when it's actually happening they
01:25:09.740 deny it
01:25:10.360 it's hilarious I mean even how even even
01:25:16.760 now Walt Disney our kids were raised on
01:25:20.320 Bugs Life and yeah Lion King and we see
01:25:23.800 all this thing acting out right in front
01:25:26.360 of us yeah now you're absolutely right
01:25:29.260 Bruce I mean here we had if memory serves
01:25:32.460 we had four years four years of people
01:25:36.780 telling us Donald Trump stole the election
01:25:40.880 the Russians stole it Donald Trump stole
01:25:43.440 it your neighbor that you don't like yeah
01:25:45.600 he was part of it too and you go but but
01:25:48.020 but but but four years you remember these
01:25:53.020 were the people who said hey even before
01:25:56.140 Trump is inaugurated we've got to impeach him
01:25:58.340 and you kind of raise your hand in the back
01:26:00.520 and go I don't think you can actually
01:26:02.520 impeach him until he's been sworn in we
01:26:05.720 don't care we're gonna get ahead of the
01:26:06.880 curve on this oh okay impeach him today
01:26:09.920 impeach him tomorrow keep impeaching him
01:26:12.200 until he's fully impeached is he impeached yet
01:26:13.980 no well impeach him again and it was
01:26:16.660 non-stop it was this drumbeat over and
01:26:21.520 over and over again every day every hour
01:26:24.940 every minute and you know what's funny
01:26:28.100 is that those very same folks are now
01:26:32.480 telling us hey the election happened six
01:26:34.720 weeks ago and you didn't really see
01:26:36.540 anything so can we move along with the
01:26:38.660 Trump's getting their stuff out of the
01:26:39.960 White House
01:26:40.460 can't we let it play out can't we take a
01:26:44.940 look into this look I don't know exactly
01:26:46.760 what happened but I would like an honest
01:26:51.720 appraisal you know it occurred to me the
01:26:54.560 right thing to do is for a a special
01:26:58.660 counsel to be investigated to be appointed
01:27:01.240 to investigate possible election fraud and
01:27:05.160 you know who should be the number one
01:27:06.620 supporter of that it's Joe Biden Joe Biden
01:27:11.000 should be leading the charge so that he
01:27:13.080 could someday stand up and say see I told
01:27:16.260 you I won see I really am the winner of
01:27:20.440 this but I don't hear him saying that now
01:27:25.080 I understand there's certain parts of the
01:27:26.720 day you don't want to disturb him right I
01:27:28.660 mean he's got to watch Matlock and when
01:27:30.740 Matlock is over there's murder again with
01:27:33.220 that looker oh man she is something and
01:27:36.820 and then it's the Golden Girls and then
01:27:38.640 it's you know nap time again but at some
01:27:41.300 point somebody should say hey Joe how about
01:27:44.860 making sure this thing was on the up and
01:27:46.640 up Jeff at the Jeff cat show dot com Jeff
01:27:51.200 cats filling in for Glenn today this is the
01:27:53.680 Glenn Beck program it is the Glenn Beck
01:27:57.960 program Jeff cats in today for Glenn what an
01:28:01.620 absolute pleasure and honor it is to be
01:28:05.100 filling in for Glenn for a couple of days and
01:28:07.620 what an absolute pleasure it is chatting with so
01:28:11.100 many wonderful people we're we're looking at
01:28:14.100 things right now as we lead up to Christmas
01:28:16.260 day yeah I said it go ahead be upset so we
01:28:19.400 lead up to Christmas day where there are a lot
01:28:20.840 of people that reflect on what they have and a
01:28:27.100 lot of what we have is being taken away the
01:28:31.780 question is are we able to get it back I don't
01:28:35.160 know I don't know I don't I don't want to be
01:28:38.000 afraid and I do believe that that we're seeing
01:28:42.720 that play out you know I am part of the lineup at
01:28:48.440 News Radio WRVA in Central Virginia Richmond
01:28:51.660 Virginia it's the capital of the Commonwealth and
01:28:54.860 we on a hot occasional basis we get to hear from
01:28:58.840 our governor governor Gelding now he announced the
01:29:03.560 other day that everybody in the Commonwealth needed
01:29:08.500 to stay in their homes between midnight and five and
01:29:12.480 when he was asked at a press conference why that was
01:29:16.520 his response was and I quote my grandmother said
01:29:21.340 nothing good happens after midnight okay so what
01:29:27.540 you're telling us is don't hang out at the Waffle House
01:29:31.320 and don't do wait a minute did you say your
01:29:35.660 grandmother now this wasn't your your public safety
01:29:39.820 secretary this wasn't some some astute world-renowned
01:29:44.120 criminal animal this was your grandmother told you
01:29:47.300 nothing good happened after midnight so you are
01:29:50.060 determined to take away my rights to travel freely yeah
01:29:56.140 that's that's just not working out well from my end but
01:30:01.580 that's what he said and we're seeing this around the
01:30:04.240 country the hypocrisy the abject hypocrisy of the uber
01:30:10.920 leftists who are saying no you need to stay in your house
01:30:13.680 no you need to shut your business no you need to all the
01:30:17.020 while they're out they're at parties they're at fancy
01:30:22.100 dinners but we're not supposed to live our lives
01:30:27.680 what's wrong with this picture can I give you one other little
01:30:32.280 thing here do you know who Jean Shaheen is
01:30:34.420 she's one of the senators from New Hampshire
01:30:37.360 and Jean Shaheen well she's an example of of this leftist
01:30:46.660 mindset you know when I I lived and worked in Massachusetts for
01:30:52.100 years and there were times where I would I'd be driving out of
01:30:58.580 Massachusetts headed north into New Hampshire and I would think to
01:31:03.400 myself or I would say to my wife or whoever else was in the car boy if
01:31:07.780 only I had moved a few more miles north all right because New Hampshire was the
01:31:13.220 live free or die state low taxes a mindset that said hey
01:31:20.520 you might make it you might not but that's on you
01:31:23.460 you've got the same opportunities as everybody else here
01:31:27.180 and what an amazing mindset and attitude it was
01:31:30.400 and then you know what happened whole slew of people from Massachusetts
01:31:34.860 would go to New Hampshire go man the taxes are really low up here
01:31:38.520 wow look at all what look at the property you can get for
01:31:41.680 for this price and that price so all that seems of the the Massachusetts
01:31:46.680 folks moved into New Hampshire and then just turned it into Massachusetts again
01:31:51.080 and so now New Hampshire is kind of like the like Massachusetts attic you know
01:31:58.240 like a whole bunch of stuff is up there and every once in a while you go up
01:32:02.000 there look around and go wow that's kind of cool or you know and then you come
01:32:04.740 back down but Gene Shaheen is is part of this new New Hampshire which says uh we subscribe to the
01:32:14.240 to that uber left-wing agenda completely so anyway let me give you just a little snippet
01:32:21.000 here of Gene Shaheen please each of us who are serving
01:32:24.700 Tuberville has been elected but he has not been sworn in
01:32:28.480 but each of us who are serving as senators took an oath to uphold and defend
01:32:33.480 the Constitution of the United States one of the most fundamental principles of the Constitution
01:32:39.480 is the peaceful transition of power these senators and members of Congress who have refused to acknowledge
01:32:47.480 that we had a free and fair election in which Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by over seven million votes
01:32:54.480 are bordering on sedition and treason huh what wait a minute so so so so that I'm clear if people are not bowing down to salute Joe Biden they're guilty of sedition
01:33:16.480 and treason uh just excuse me for one second for four years four years you told us that Hillary Clinton was the real winner Hillary Clinton was was elected oh and by the way let me just say this Hillary Clinton not the president today doesn't that feel good seriously say it with me Hillary Clinton not the president really good it's just a good thing and
01:33:46.460 anyway but for four years it was non-stop and now you have people and I would say decent honorable people saying well wait a minute now there were all sorts of changes like to these mail-in ballot rules don't you think we ought to take a look into this and see if it was all on the up and up
01:34:05.140 but she's telling us but she's telling us we're guilty of treason man that's that's that's that's that's a pretty big leap don't you think
01:34:14.200 888-727-BECK 888-727-BECK 888-727-BECK
01:34:20.420 Joey is up in Maine Joey welcome to the Glenn Beck program
01:34:24.580 what's happening Jeff how are you I am fine thank you sir
01:34:28.680 I have fled the state of Massachusetts
01:34:31.720 and you get to Maine and you still got crazy people but at least you got moose
01:34:39.920 yeah yeah it's much better but you know they shut down everything in mass
01:34:45.300 then being a comic that was shut down which which stunk
01:34:49.600 then we also had a B&B
01:34:52.220 and with the 14-day quarantine all that stuff in place
01:34:56.500 nine years of running a successful business gone in the flash
01:35:01.280 oh
01:35:02.160 and just made a decision it's like do we try to stick this out until
01:35:05.580 our governor says people can stay at our home
01:35:08.540 or do we make a move
01:35:10.060 and things weren't looking bright so now
01:35:13.740 it's a it's an early life change
01:35:17.780 but it's a good one
01:35:20.040 all right so so tell me a little bit now
01:35:23.180 you you flee Massachusetts uh you you can't work as a as a comedian
01:35:29.060 you can't work uh opening your home to people that want to come in for the B&B
01:35:33.880 so what is Maine letting you do
01:35:35.860 um right now they have you know they've limited shows going on in different places
01:35:42.620 same thing New Hampshire has limited shows limited seating
01:35:45.220 oh okay
01:35:46.040 whereas mass is just done
01:35:47.720 wow
01:35:48.860 nothing and then again the magical nine o'clock curfew from the restaurant
01:35:52.560 if the protocols work from noon till nine
01:35:56.200 they don't just stop working at 901
01:36:00.000 oh Joey this is you gotta understand this is the smartest virus of all times
01:36:05.360 it it knows if you're having alcohol or not
01:36:08.480 it knows if you had a sandwich at 9 15 and it's coming for you baby
01:36:12.360 you know it's just odd to me that a governor in New York
01:36:18.020 where they've got death rates on the roof
01:36:21.580 does a book tour about how wonderfully he handled this
01:36:25.240 as the cases spike again
01:36:26.880 right in the middle of his book tour
01:36:28.620 they're breaking records
01:36:30.040 yeah
01:36:30.700 tell us again how well that works for you
01:36:33.000 is Governor Cuomo doing a lot of those book signings
01:36:36.460 in those uh assisted care living facilities do you think
01:36:39.740 no
01:36:41.220 probably not
01:36:41.780 he stays out
01:36:42.260 yeah right
01:36:42.980 yeah
01:36:43.740 yeah
01:36:44.060 I think his brother's clear to go
01:36:45.680 that's right
01:36:46.480 are they on bicycles would be my question
01:36:49.980 out there on Long Island
01:36:51.220 is there uh
01:36:52.140 oh my gosh
01:36:53.380 well Joey thank you so much
01:36:54.700 I am so sorry to hear that
01:36:56.080 that the business closed
01:36:57.540 but happy to hear that maybe you're getting a new piece of life up in Maine
01:37:01.220 wow
01:37:01.800 Sarah is in Georgia
01:37:03.080 hey Sarah
01:37:03.700 welcome to the Glenn Beck program
01:37:05.640 hey Jeff
01:37:07.600 thanks for taking my call
01:37:09.280 well thank you for making it
01:37:10.600 yeah it's it's um
01:37:13.800 they're they're they're hell bent and destroyed
01:37:16.420 everything I think
01:37:17.520 yeah
01:37:18.120 um
01:37:18.660 I have two children
01:37:20.340 who have graduated from college
01:37:22.760 both of them with PhD
01:37:24.340 wow
01:37:25.520 um
01:37:26.060 of course you know
01:37:27.520 they were raised in a conservative house
01:37:29.740 but they went to college
01:37:30.980 and so now I'm not real sure
01:37:33.120 but here in Georgia
01:37:35.100 you know we're having this Senate runoff
01:37:37.520 yes
01:37:38.180 and
01:37:38.760 I went out to see the vice president
01:37:41.300 at the airport
01:37:43.080 in an open hangar
01:37:44.580 with some friends
01:37:45.960 okay
01:37:46.660 well now my children
01:37:47.500 are not speaking to me
01:37:49.220 for Christmas
01:37:50.100 oh my gosh
01:37:52.320 I found out that I went
01:37:53.880 that
01:37:54.920 I was irresponsible
01:37:56.540 and that
01:37:58.580 they really just
01:37:59.840 you know
01:38:00.320 were not going to talk to me
01:38:02.140 and
01:38:03.220 I was
01:38:04.000 blown away by it
01:38:05.880 but then of course
01:38:07.200 I got mad
01:38:07.960 as the mother that I am
01:38:09.500 and I told them
01:38:10.940 I said you know
01:38:11.580 probably the worst thing
01:38:13.500 I ever did
01:38:14.120 was to send you guys
01:38:15.080 to college
01:38:15.660 and
01:38:17.000 well
01:38:17.180 well Sarah
01:38:19.120 Sarah let me ask you this
01:38:20.640 is it too late
01:38:21.840 to tell them
01:38:22.420 that you're going to
01:38:22.920 disown them
01:38:23.960 that's it
01:38:26.940 you're
01:38:27.460 you're out of the will
01:38:28.660 you're not getting
01:38:29.920 any of my cool stuff
01:38:31.380 so there you go
01:38:32.780 no
01:38:33.760 I mean really
01:38:34.640 it's
01:38:35.300 it's
01:38:35.660 it's unbelievable
01:38:36.540 what college does
01:38:37.780 to these children
01:38:38.580 oh I know
01:38:39.720 I know
01:38:40.920 my husband
01:38:41.540 either one of us
01:38:42.660 went to college
01:38:43.260 we've made a good life
01:38:44.540 my husband
01:38:44.940 I won't
01:38:45.740 where he works
01:38:46.460 but he's still working
01:38:47.300 I worked in the
01:38:48.420 assisted living industry
01:38:49.480 for 21 years
01:38:50.520 I started at the bottom
01:38:52.660 worked my way to the top
01:38:53.980 with my high school diploma
01:38:55.900 wow
01:38:56.940 and my
01:38:57.180 technical school
01:38:59.060 you can be
01:39:00.480 anything you want to be
01:39:01.820 and you don't have to
01:39:02.720 go to college
01:39:03.400 okay
01:39:04.180 I agree with you Sarah
01:39:05.260 and I appreciate that call
01:39:06.700 and I appreciate that mindset
01:39:07.900 look
01:39:08.320 isn't it
01:39:08.940 Mike Rowe talks all the time
01:39:10.580 about honest work
01:39:12.260 right
01:39:12.600 I don't know about you
01:39:13.860 I had an occasion
01:39:14.640 a couple years ago
01:39:15.340 we had to call a plumber
01:39:16.280 $450 to come in
01:39:18.880 for I don't know
01:39:19.680 11 minutes worth of work
01:39:20.880 to snake a drain
01:39:21.780 he didn't get his hands dirty
01:39:22.900 I worked as a
01:39:24.260 as a kid
01:39:25.020 when I was a teenager
01:39:25.760 I used to help my uncle Paul
01:39:27.260 as he was a plumber
01:39:29.140 man that's nasty hard work
01:39:30.980 and it's
01:39:31.260 it can be really
01:39:32.460 really
01:39:32.960 well ugly
01:39:34.740 let's just say that
01:39:35.620 but
01:39:35.960 it's honest work
01:39:37.960 I'm sitting here
01:39:38.900 in my beautiful little
01:39:39.700 broadcast hut
01:39:40.580 right outside my door
01:39:41.680 I got a whole bunch of mud
01:39:43.040 we got rain
01:39:44.140 and it's mucky
01:39:44.840 it's like a swamp
01:39:45.780 and I'm waiting
01:39:47.120 there's a guy
01:39:47.640 who's going to come
01:39:48.300 and he's quite literally
01:39:49.840 going to dig
01:39:51.200 a ditch
01:39:52.340 and make my life better
01:39:54.880 and I'm grateful for that
01:39:56.720 and I'm grateful to him

01:39:59.060 ought to be

01:40:18.220 Jeff Katz
01:40:19.060 in for Glenn
01:40:20.260 it is the Glenn Beck Program
01:40:21.860 this is the Glenn Beck Program
01:40:24.880 Jeff Katz
01:40:25.940 filling in for Glenn
01:40:27.240 today
01:40:28.200 just a piece of breaking news
01:40:31.160 just a couple of moments ago
01:40:32.800 Attorney General
01:40:34.180 William Barr
01:40:35.560 announced
01:40:36.780 that he is
01:40:38.220 not
01:40:39.080 I repeat
01:40:39.920 is not
01:40:41.100 going to be appointing
01:40:42.560 a special counsel
01:40:44.280 for either
01:40:45.280 the election
01:40:46.460 matter
01:40:47.200 or the Hunter
01:40:48.620 Biden
01:40:49.220 matter
01:40:50.100 well
01:40:51.820 shouldn't
01:40:53.140 somebody
01:40:54.000 look into these
01:40:54.680 things
01:40:55.060 I mean really
01:40:55.640 are we leaving
01:40:56.580 these for Joe Biden
01:40:57.680 you're leaving
01:40:59.820 the investigation
01:41:00.940 of Hunter
01:41:02.880 Biden
01:41:03.400 to Joe
01:41:04.540 Biden
01:41:05.140 now I know
01:41:06.340 I was never
01:41:07.100 a United States
01:41:07.880 attorney
01:41:08.280 I was never
01:41:09.300 a prosecutor
01:41:10.360 but it just
01:41:11.900 seems to me
01:41:12.820 when you're trusting
01:41:13.860 the guy
01:41:14.560 with the name
01:41:15.480 Biden
01:41:16.100 to be responsible
01:41:17.740 for somehow
01:41:18.720 taking a look
01:41:19.740 at the
01:41:20.220 potential
01:41:21.420 problems
01:41:22.460 with somebody else
01:41:23.320 named
01:41:23.640 Biden
01:41:24.340 we got a problem
01:41:26.500 seriously
01:41:26.860 I'm going to trust
01:41:27.640 the big guy
01:41:28.760 is it too soon
01:41:31.900 to start referring
01:41:32.680 to them
01:41:33.980 as
01:41:34.320 La Josa
01:41:35.120 Nostra
01:41:35.780 it might be
01:41:36.580 I'm going to
01:41:36.960 get involved
01:41:37.620 with somebody
01:41:38.280 who actually
01:41:38.600 knows about that
01:41:39.160 and then the other
01:41:39.580 part
01:41:39.740 the election
01:41:40.480 fraud
01:41:40.860 is there
01:41:41.400 nobody
01:41:42.240 who can
01:41:43.460 say
01:41:44.100 to Joe
01:41:45.280 Biden
01:41:45.700 listen
01:41:46.260 let's say
01:41:48.040 you are
01:41:49.020 inaugurated
01:41:50.000 on January
01:41:50.800 the 20th
01:41:51.540 don't you
01:41:51.980 want this
01:41:52.500 thing to be
01:41:53.260 as clean
01:41:54.380 and as
01:41:54.940 honest
01:41:55.320 as possible
01:41:56.080 so that
01:41:56.900 you can
01:41:57.300 stand in
01:41:58.140 front
01:41:58.660 of the
01:41:59.080 American
01:41:59.560 people
01:42:00.080 and say
01:42:00.580 I really
01:42:01.820 am your
01:42:02.520 president
01:42:02.980 you know
01:42:04.200 people keep
01:42:04.660 talking about
01:42:05.220 January the 6th
01:42:06.360 that's when
01:42:06.740 all of these
01:42:07.460 electoral votes
01:42:08.840 are going to
01:42:09.120 be presented
01:42:09.740 to
01:42:10.560 Congress
01:42:11.740 now I don't
01:42:13.720 know what
01:42:14.060 Vice President
01:42:14.600 Mike Pence
01:42:15.200 is going to
01:42:16.040 do
01:42:16.180 I don't
01:42:16.520 know what
01:42:17.240 Congressman
01:42:18.200 Bo Brooks
01:42:19.040 or Senator
01:42:19.560 Ron Johnson
01:42:20.320 are going to
01:42:20.760 do
01:42:21.000 but I can
01:42:21.780 tell you
01:42:22.120 this
01:42:22.560 because
01:42:23.440 Mike Pence
01:42:24.180 and I
01:42:24.560 a thousand
01:42:25.120 years ago
01:42:25.680 were baby
01:42:26.260 talk show
01:42:26.860 hosts
01:42:27.260 together
01:42:27.640 I kid
01:42:28.180 you not
01:42:28.400 it's like
01:42:28.620 my one
01:42:29.060 claim
01:42:29.460 to fame
01:42:30.100 that Mike
01:42:30.980 Pence
01:42:31.420 and I
01:42:31.860 used to
01:42:33.100 be talk
01:42:33.740 show hosts
01:42:34.380 together
01:42:34.920 now Mike
01:42:36.800 obviously
01:42:38.040 did far
01:42:39.980 better than
01:42:40.380 I did
01:42:40.760 but that's
01:42:41.080 not the
01:42:41.360 point
01:42:41.780 that's
01:42:42.700 not the
01:42:43.060 point
01:42:43.560 I know
01:42:44.700 that Mike
01:42:45.240 Pence
01:42:45.700 is a
01:42:46.240 decent
01:42:46.720 honest
01:42:47.380 honorable
01:42:48.040 man
01:42:48.540 and I
01:42:49.460 know he's
01:42:49.860 going to
01:42:50.040 do the
01:42:50.300 right
01:42:50.520 thing
01:42:50.900 and I'm
01:42:52.180 looking
01:42:52.860 at President
01:42:54.040 Trump
01:42:54.440 today
01:42:54.820 and I'm
01:42:55.140 looking at
01:42:55.540 the people
01:42:55.940 around
01:42:56.340 President
01:42:56.760 Trump
01:42:57.020 people
01:42:57.340 like you
01:42:57.860 and people
01:42:58.280 like me
01:42:58.760 and I'm
01:42:59.000 saying
01:42:59.400 we gotta
01:43:01.820 stand with
01:43:02.480 this president
01:43:03.120 not everybody
01:43:04.280 was there
01:43:04.760 when he first
01:43:05.360 announced his
01:43:05.960 candidacy
01:43:06.460 I know I
01:43:07.000 wasn't
01:43:07.540 but I've
01:43:08.780 watched for
01:43:09.540 four years
01:43:10.820 as this guy
01:43:12.300 has busted
01:43:13.240 his rear end
01:43:14.120 tirelessly
01:43:14.980 on behalf
01:43:16.360 of us
01:43:17.060 we owe
01:43:19.380 him
01:43:19.740 we've gotta
01:43:21.280 stand with
01:43:21.920 him
01:43:22.160 keep him
01:43:23.440 in your
01:43:23.700 prayers
01:43:24.080 for sure
01:43:24.800 have an
01:43:26.160 incredible
01:43:26.920 day
01:43:27.540 God willing
01:43:28.280 you and I
01:43:28.760 get the
01:43:29.060 chance to
01:43:29.480 do this
01:43:29.880 again
01:43:30.260 it is
01:43:30.740 Jeff Katz
01:43:31.560 in for
01:43:32.220 Glenn
01:43:32.720 this is
01:43:33.680 the Glenn
01:43:33.980 Beck
01:43:34.180 program
01:43:34.720 this is
01:43:47.400 the Glenn
01:43:47.980 Beck
01:43:48.400 program
01:43:49.120 bullying
01:43:50.180 what
01:43:50.900 doing
01:43:52.000 it is
01:43:52.560 good
01:43:53.300 I
01:43:53.580 do
01:43:53.840 it
01:43:54.060 it
01:43:54.260 is
01:43:55.420 it
01:43:56.080 you
