00:03:15.000 In 1997, Boeing merged with fellow aerospace manufacturer McDonnell Douglas

00:03:20.000 in a $13 billion stock swap.

00:03:23.000 It was a match made in hell.

00:03:25.000 Boeing was known for quality.

00:03:27.000 McDonnell was known for financial engineering with a focus on cost-cutting

00:03:31.000 and the company's share price.

00:03:33.000 Although the Boeing name survived, it was McDonnell Douglas' attitude that prevailed.

00:03:39.000 McDonnell's CEO Harry Stonecipher, who took over the day-to-day operations at Boeing,

00:03:47.000 immediately took a carving knife to Boeing's highly paid engineering staff.

00:03:51.000 In May 2001, Boeing management made a physical break with its engineers.

00:03:57.000 Manufacturing headquarters stayed in Seattle while corporate moved to downtown Chicago,

00:04:02.000 1,700 miles away.

00:04:04.000 That split symbolized the growing distance between the builders and the bosses.

00:04:09.000 To say the company's engineers were disenfranchised doesn't describe it.

00:04:15.000 Boeing's entire culture was erased. 0.92

00:04:18.000 CEO Stonecipher even bragged about what he had destroyed.

00:04:23.000 Quote,

00:04:24.000 If people say I changed the culture of Boeing, that was the intent.

00:04:28.000 So that's like a business.

00:04:31.000 It's run like a business rather than a great engineering firm.

00:04:37.000 I don't know if you know this, but making airplanes fly really requires a great engineering firm,

00:04:43.000 but maybe that's just me.

00:04:45.000 Today, both Boeing CFO Brian West and CEO David Calhoun are formerly senior GE finance people,

00:04:53.000 and they've done to Boeing what they did to GE, destroy the balance sheet.

00:04:59.000 From 2010 to 2019, Boeing spent $44 billion on buying back its own shares,

00:05:06.000 while adding $50 billion in debt.

00:05:09.000 This reduced the share count by 23% and sent the stock price up $200.

00:05:15.000 But the underlying business?

00:05:18.000 Bean counters cannot build airplanes.

00:05:21.000 Boeing's planes began falling out of the sky.

00:05:25.000 As a result, free cash flow plunged to negative $4.3 billion annually by 2019.

00:05:32.000 Today's bankruptcy of Boeing grows more certain.

00:05:36.000 Cumulative net income over the last three years is negative $20 billion.

00:05:42.000 And the company has $52 billion now in total debt.

00:05:46.000 Interest expense is currently $2.5 billion a year,

00:05:50.000 but that's going to move much higher as Boeing's debt will be downgraded to junk.

00:05:55.000 But never fear.

00:05:57.000 Investors have nothing to worry about,

00:05:59.000 with one of America's greatest and most important companies spiraling towards bankruptcy.

00:06:04.000 Stephanie Pope is the chief operating officer of Boeing.

00:06:09.000 She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southwest Missouri State University and an MBA from another intellectual powerhouse,

00:06:20.000 Lindenwood University.

00:06:22.000 She also has zero engineering background.

00:06:26.000 Now, why would someone with this kind of background be placed in charge of operations in the world's leading aerospace engineering firm?

00:06:35.000 Well, maybe it's because she is the executive sponsor of Boeing's Women Inspiring Leadership,

00:06:44.000 a group dedicated to increasing gender diversity awareness.

00:06:48.000 Boeing's planes keep falling apart.

00:06:51.000 These outcomes are the results of years and years of bad ideas,

00:06:57.000 starting with the intentional destruction of Boeing's engineering culture,

00:07:01.000 followed by the GE-style financial engineering,

00:07:04.000 and now the company's full embrace of modern Marxism ESG.

00:07:09.000 Like we predicted a year ago, Boeing is going to collapse.

00:07:14.000 When the debt gets downgraded, the stock will drop by more than 50% to below $100.

00:07:21.000 And that's just what we warned about GE and GM.

00:07:29.000 Boeing is a wonderful metaphor for our entire society.

00:07:35.000 When, now listen carefully, boys and girls, when we promote people because of their political views,

00:07:44.000 or their race, or their sex, even if that sex is completely made up,

00:07:50.000 instead of what they know and who they are, the content of their character,

00:07:57.000 we will continue to have planes fall out of the sky.

00:08:02.000 Whatever company is involved in all of this stuff, their, quote, planes, whatever it is they build,

00:08:12.000 will fall out of the sky.

00:08:14.000 Until our government gets away from this craziness,

00:08:19.000 America's Republic will fall out of the sky.

00:08:25.000 Let me just give you a couple of things.

00:08:28.000 First of all, do you think this is a good idea?

00:08:30.000 The NIH has spent millions on equity, LGBT issues, instead of researching cures.

00:08:41.000 How do you think that's going to work out for us?

00:08:44.000 DEI, the boondoggle, cost us millions.

00:08:49.000 And yet, in all of these, all of these universities, all of these countries, sorry, companies that are embracing DEI,

00:09:01.000 University of Michigan is paying probably a total of about $80 million a year for their 142 employees to promote DEI and all the programs.

00:09:13.000 Okay?

00:09:14.000 So how's it working out?

00:09:16.000 $85 million was spent on DEI at that one university.

00:09:23.000 Black students' experience on campus hasn't improved.

00:09:28.000 Hispanic and Asian enrollments increased, but black enrollment dropped slightly from 4.3 to 3.9.

00:09:36.000 With percentage of students who were satisfied with the overall campus climate, it decreased 72% to 61%.

00:09:47.000 Your education plane is about to fall out of the sky.

00:09:51.000 How about energy?

00:09:57.000 And in fact, let's have a government that thinks they know better, thinks that they are God.

00:10:04.000 And so they're going to reduce the oil that we can pump, starve us for anything that we know historically works, to give us a bunch of crap that doesn't work.

00:11:11.000 And meanwhile, on MSNBC, Chris Matthews on Wednesday claimed that, and I'm quoting, rural Americans are essentially members of a cult who will vote in, quote, their craziness if Democrats don't show up at the polls.

01:45:31.380 Uh, I am, I'm really torn on this because I feel as though we are backing in to yet another war. I also think there are people in this administration that want war. I also know that this administration continues to send money over to Iran. So, uh, you know, our, our literal enemy in this, we're helping fund. So this isn't serious on anybody's part.

01:45:56.500 However, however, however, they are shooting at us, launching missiles at our Navy, and aren't we defending ourselves? How should we look at this?

01:46:09.420 Well, first of all, you should look at it as this is election season. And, uh, when you're at war, you know, there's a greater tendency to vote for the commander in chief who's, who's waging the war.

01:46:21.460 And I am worried that he's going to draw us into a war with this. Now, I believe that he has an obligation to come to Congress. And I think he had time to do it. If he had time to organize an international coalition, or at least with Great Britain to pull this off, he had time to come to us.

01:46:38.540 And, you know, the, you know, the war powers act, uh, requires him to do that. It allows him to respond defensively in the case of emergency, but that would be like an imminent attack. It wouldn't be something where you plan, uh, you know, some kind of retaliation for things that have gone on for months.

01:46:58.600 So, so the war, can we talk about the war powers act here for a second? Because I believe the war powers act is correct in a world where we have missiles. If somebody is launching a missile, the president does not have time to go to Congress and say, Hey, I want to make my case here that in 12 minutes, we're all going to be vaporized.

01:47:17.860 However, like you said, it's been 90 days, 90 plus days since this happened. We've watched it happen. They've been, they've been fighting and shooting against us, et cetera, et cetera. The, the president has a responsibility to go in front of the American people and Congress and make his case and Congress needs to decide.

01:47:43.260 Correct. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. You are absolutely correct. We have abdicated though, our authority. We've, we've been involved in Yemen. Here's what I don't see reported in the news since about 2015.

01:47:56.620 And in 2018, I teamed up with Ro Khanna and tried to get a war powers resolution passed to, to get us back out of Yemen. This was in 2018. Paul Ryan did a parliamentary trick.

01:48:11.820 He hid the vote on our war powers resolution in the farm bill. And then, so people voted for the farm bill and put our war powers resolution to bed. So we tried again and he hid it in the manage our wolves act.

01:48:26.960 If you voted for the manager of wolves act to come to the floor of the house, you voted against the Ro Khanna Thomas Massey war powers resolution, according to the war powers act to get us out of Yemen. 0.66

01:48:39.120 Think of this. Our Congress is voting on management of wolves, but not whether or not we go to war.

01:48:46.960 Correct. And then, so a year later, we were able to get it to the floor. We passed it in the house. We followed, you know, I don't even agree completely with the war powers act that was passed in the 1970s, especially not the interpretation that people have of it.

01:49:04.500 But we were able to get a resolution passed to get us out of Yemen in 2019. And then it went from the house to the Senate and they passed it with 53 votes, but Donald Trump vetoed it.

01:49:15.860 Now it was, you know, it's within his authority to veto it, but that demonstrated to me how ridiculous the war powers act is because effectively it takes, it takes two thirds of us to override a president's veto.

01:49:29.520 So what it means is the war powers act, if you believe in it with 33% of Congress, the president can go to war because they, it takes two thirds to stop him. It's ridiculous.

01:49:39.820 Hmm. So what are you, what are you hearing, uh, up on the Hill about all of this? Where are we headed, Thomas?

01:49:49.400 Um, I mean, I am, I am worried that we're going to be expanding conflicts in the middle East, that this is, uh, there's some people up here that are just begging for a war with Iran. 0.54

01:50:00.840 Um, and, um, whether it's an, something that grows out of Gaza or whether it's something that grows out of Yemen. Uh, and I think we need to take a step back and look at this and say, does it, is that in the best interest of our country to have a full blown war with Iran? 0.82

01:50:24.040 Well, the national intelligence agencies came out today and warned that, uh, the, uh, that Hezbollah has assets here in America and that they're concerned that this, uh, could mean a, uh, a direct strike here in the homeland, which I don't think would play well for all of those who had an open border.

Not, not only are we going to economically destroy our country by bringing so many illegal immigrants into the country so quickly, it's so porous that, you know, uh, Hezbollah can walk across the border and no doubt they are here. 0.99
