00:00:00.640 Greetings, Laddingtons. Today I want to talk a bit about carbohydrates and fat and this
00:00:07.000 is actually a somewhat controversial topic. A while back I made a video where CrossFit
00:00:14.000 started bashing Facebook for being utopian socialists. It was a fun and quite random
00:00:21.800 thing to read but they also brought up the fact that Facebook had deleted a very popular
00:00:29.160 page where people shared their experiences with a high fat diet so that might be something to keep
00:00:38.120 in mind when we discuss this whole topic of carbohydrates versus fats. So Facebook apparently
00:00:45.480 for whatever reason maybe they got pressured from some grain companies or I don't know but they did
00:00:52.760 delete a large group with a million or so followers or members. So that was only the
00:01:01.080 something to throw out there before I begin to talk about my perspective upon it. If you wanted a bit
00:01:06.880 more political angle to this nutritional topic. Now as you might have noticed the comment section
00:01:13.300 is open and that is because as usual when there is a topic that is worth discussing it's something
00:01:20.460 important such as diet. It's an excruciatingly important topic in my humble opinion. I will start
00:01:26.620 talking more about it because after all what you eat on a daily basis is very important for your
00:01:33.660 mental and physical well-being and if you fuel your body with the good stuff you will produce good
00:01:40.360 thoughts. Simple as that and if you eat bad you will think bad and produce evil thoughts and there is a lot
00:01:48.380 of evil people in this day and age and I am absolutely certain it has something to do with
00:01:55.720 the water and the food. Everything we take into our bodies and then of course obviously things such as
00:02:02.900 drugs etc. Now on to the topic of carbs and fats. My perspective is this. I want to be as strong as possible.
00:02:14.480 I want to be able to sink a battleship with this fist and this fist and the same thing goes for my
00:02:22.840 legs. I want to look as aesthetically pleasing as possible. I want people to just stare at me admire
00:02:31.140 me and see how epic I look. I want to be able to formulate the best possible thoughts in my mind.
00:02:38.220 I want to be able to write as well as possible and I want to be as clear as possible in my everyday
00:02:45.740 life how I plan things. So that is how I view that is how I approach this topic. I want to be a demigod
00:02:54.140 basically. I want to be a demigod. There is no sense in denying this fact. I'm being honest about this
00:03:01.800 and then I have to approach nutrition in such a way how can I best facilitate all of these goals I
00:03:07.920 just said to you. And what we have to keep in mind is that carbohydrates is a supplement. It's a sports
00:03:16.220 supplement used for athletic performance. So I will hit the gym later. Therefore I have loaded up with
00:03:24.600 a meal of carbohydrates. And I made a Gains Kitchen video showing you roughly how that meal can look.
00:03:32.120 You can just watch through my Gains Kitchen series here on YouTube and I will make more Gains Kitchen
00:03:38.060 videos because as I said I think it's a very important topic. Nutrition. So I view carbohydrates
00:03:43.940 in that sense. I don't view it as food per se but I view it as a supplement I use to fuel my performance.
00:03:51.320 So if I want to say that I want to be as strong as possible I want to be able to
00:03:55.640 bench press a mountain I need carbohydrates to fuel up my muscle. So if we look upon my physique
00:04:04.280 carbohydrates is my way to fuel my body so I can push through sessions. So if someone asks me how to
00:04:12.400 break these stalls in the push press or in the squats or in the bench press or what have you I say
00:04:18.900 try to increase your intake of carbohydrates for a while. Same thing if I want to partake in some
00:04:26.340 sort of more cardio intense endeavor then I also load up with carbohydrates because it's good fuel for
00:04:33.440 athletic performance. So in my humble opinion I view carbohydrates as a means to fuel your performance.
00:04:42.060 It can also of course be cultural. You have most pleasant things here in life are made out of
00:04:49.140 carbohydrates. So if you want to have a nice meal there will be elements of
00:04:53.100 bread or yeah what have you. Most meals contain carbohydrates and that's completely fine. But keep in
00:05:00.400 mind that it's either for nice eating or it is for sports performance. Now if we're talking about fat
00:05:09.120 a high fat diet if I don't train as much I eat more fat. If I wouldn't go to the gym, if I wouldn't train
00:05:16.740 MMA, I would probably eat a lot more fat and a lot less carbohydrates. Because if I don't train, if I'm just
00:05:24.660 out to optimize my cognitive abilities then I focus on fats. And if I don't need to fuel a performance in the
00:05:33.060 gym, I don't really need carbohydrates either. So that is my take there. Fats are to ensure a good hormonal
00:05:40.840 production and to ensure a good cognitive ability. If you go too low on fat you will not make your body
00:05:48.420 or your brain any sort of favors. So with that being said I don't endorse any low fat versions and I don't
00:05:56.580 endorse over consumption of sugar. I will make a separate video on sugar later on. Now this was just a
00:06:04.300 shorter video, sort of an introductory video to coming videos I will make later on. So if I make
00:06:11.820 games kitchen videos and I talk about low carb meal or high fat meal etc. you know the reasoning behind
00:06:19.720 it. So for example if I'm having a day where I don't train at all, I try to eat more fat. So eggs with
00:06:25.940 bacon, lots of butter, meat and butter, that sort of stuff. And cream. So just heavy on fat and low
00:06:34.500 on carbohydrates. On the contrary if I need to perform in the Temple of Iron for some bench press
00:06:40.180 for example, then I need to load up with carbohydrates. So that's the short answer, that's the short take
00:06:47.420 on my views on carbohydrates or not. And yeah as I said I will make more nutrition videos in the coming
00:06:54.400 time. And if you watched this far I salute you and I encourage you to follow me on Telegram. And also
00:07:02.080 if you are in Sweden check out JotanemNutrition.se to get some good supplements. And who am I?
00:07:09.600 I'm the Viking of Wisdom. XOXO. Boo!
