00:00:00.000 Greetings warriors of Christ and welcome back to our glorious Reconquista. First things first,
00:00:11.680 we need to change the name of this army. No, not this army. Not this army either.
00:00:21.840 How about this army? Yes, this army it is. The Blades of Glory. Thank you to the true
00:00:27.960 friend who have aware me of the fact that the Blades of Glory is actually a comedy with
00:00:34.260 Will Ferrell. So we're gonna rename it to Crusaders. The Crusaders of Glory. So now
00:00:43.920 that we have that out of the way, as it were, we're gonna look through the Empire. I suppose
00:00:48.540 this episode will be a bit gonna go with influence for our leader. A bit more chill
00:00:57.340 since we have peace with everyone. Now, for those of you who are not particularly familiar
00:01:03.940 with Total War, and especially this new expansion or DLC, there is a special rule or thing that's
00:01:16.480 called War Wariness, which means that population will be a bit more rebellious the more you are
00:01:24.340 at war. And for the longer period you are at war. So that's basically like having a rest between
00:01:31.940 your sets or something. If you keep pumping all the time, you won't have as much energy. Same thing
00:01:36.820 in the game here right now, that we need to rest a bit from war. So that's why we made peace with the
00:01:44.100 Blasphemous Moors last episode. But fair enough. We will take Bea. Still don't know how to pronounce it properly,
00:01:53.700 but we're gonna go with Bea. Thanks everyone though in the comment section who tried to help me with it
00:02:00.180 at least. Means a lot. We're gonna repair these things so you can see here. And this episode also, I thought for
00:02:08.100 anyone who isn't familiar with Total War, I thought that, you know, my Total War campaigns should be for
00:02:15.140 everyone. So that you can just tune in and get somewhat the grip of the game at least. Because
00:02:20.500 this is for all true friends, not just Total War fans. So what I'm doing here is I'm repairing these
00:02:26.660 buildings because they got damaged while we attacked the city. Now what we also can do here, see we have
00:02:34.420 the choice to upgrade all of these. So we can do that upgrade. And they got better armor and better
00:02:44.020 weapons, which is obviously good. So we paid a bit of shekels for an upgrade, basically. And a natural gift.
00:02:54.500 Extortion, look at that. Tax rate, 3 plus local province. My friend had 5 fingers, he only used 3.
00:03:06.900 We're gonna recruit him for some extra revenue.
00:03:14.340 So this is our champion and this is our spy. So they do a bit of different things. Now you see here,
00:03:22.580 88 minus, minus 13. When this reaches minus 100, we will have a rebellion on our hand. And this means
00:03:33.780 next turn we will have a rebellion on our hand. So we need to do something about it. And certain things
00:03:42.900 increase or decrease the population order. Such as having a garrison increases the public order. So we're
00:03:51.620 gonna go with Garcia. We're gonna raise our fleet, station him there. Didn't really do much for the
00:03:57.700 public order. But we can look at doing some other things as well. Such as taking off the tax in the
00:04:05.140 province. So if you do that right now. And you can see down in this corner, predicted, if we have the
00:04:12.980 tax on, is minus 100. If you take it off, it's only 97. Which gives us one more turn to prepare for war.
00:04:23.140 And this in turn means that we can bring back our king to deal with the rebels that will spring up in
00:04:28.820 this region. So I hope that makes sense. And yeah, for anyone who hasn't played Total War, I want you to be
00:04:36.660 to be with in this glorious endeavor either way. So what we're gonna do now. He's gonna deal with his rebels.
00:04:48.420 Now what we can do. What I am doing right now. Oh god, this isn't true. For god himself.
00:05:00.900 So what I thought to do was to bring these guys up just in close proximity to the other force so
00:05:09.060 that we could get reinforcements and charge these directly. But now we're just gonna lay siege there
00:05:13.620 for one turn. And then they will sally out and we'll have a battle on our hands. Basically. So the
00:05:20.660 public order here is minus 78 and decrease it with one per turn. So that's cool. It's fine.
00:05:34.260 This battle we could take but we're gonna stay here and recruit some horsemen so we have a better
00:05:45.540 chance because of this. An Oneger. An Oneger is a sort of catapult. So yeah, that was my little 1.00
00:05:54.020 introduction to Total War as it were. So we can end turn, I suppose, and see what the crack is
00:06:04.420 during the next turn. So I'm gonna take a few turns now, conciliating my power,
00:06:10.900 crushing the beta-leftists again and then we'll be ready to retake the rest of Spain as it were.
00:06:23.700 Good times, good times.
00:06:28.100 So yeah, there you actually saw that. There was war weariness decreased. So we're recovering a bit
00:06:37.380 from the constant wars, which is good. Which is exactly how we want to keep it. So I'm gonna send
00:06:44.820 out our king here to... Oh, look at that. We're actually increasing the public order now.
00:06:52.580 But we can actually provoke our rebellion here because we have this huge army. So I put on taxes
00:07:09.220 again and you can see what I did here. Tax province. If we're taking off the taxes, there will not be a
00:07:15.060 rebellion. If we put on the taxes, there will be a rebellion. But the public order also increases when
00:07:22.580 our rebellion starts because then all malcontents go out in the countryside and joins the rebellion.
00:07:28.020 So we can pretend that these guys are the Moors who are still in Lisbon. 1.00
00:07:37.460 Now we can research the technology and there's not so much tactics here, to be honest. I just go with...
00:07:45.540 Yeah, call on vassals. No, actually we're gonna go with trade goods.
00:07:54.900 And the technologies aren't really a big part of the game, to be honest.
00:08:00.100 And you see here, this yellow bar indicates the balance of power. And you see, I'm overwhelming them
00:08:07.940 which speed stack and how to resolve that. And know for certain that that will win.
00:08:16.180 So if you wonder why I take some battles and skip some, that's the reason.
00:08:22.100 So now, let us do friends. Oh, look at that. Governor, nice. And we can see this is his leveling system.
00:08:38.580 So he levels here and we have gained two leveling points as it were.
00:08:43.780 So we can go with 20% plus from industrial buildings. Governed province. Since he's an entrepreneur,
00:08:53.140 that's obviously very good. And we can go with conning. Because conning, maintenance cost,
00:09:02.100 minus 2% for the governed province. That is awesome. And then here's his retinue,
00:09:08.260 his household as it were. And Byzantine turncoats. We have a glorious Byzantine, 0.82
00:09:16.740 looks like a woman actually, that reduces corruption in the province by 10%. That is very, very good.
00:09:28.020 And there is only commanded army, which doesn't do any good for us because we are a governor and not a commander.
00:09:38.900 So we're not going to do any of these, but we're going to prepare you and boom,
00:09:46.420 and turn and see what the crack is in the next turn. See how long we can stay at peace with the Moors. 1.00
00:09:54.900 But I'd say that we have the upper hand in the battle against the Moors, because as you see,
00:10:01.380 Bea there is completely unguarded. And we have quite significant military might.
00:10:10.180 Oh, look at that.
00:10:13.860 Absolutely, let's go for it.
00:10:16.420 Feels good, man, for JPG.
00:10:18.020 So this will be the battle of this episode. And I think we should have it, to be honest. Not really sure though.
00:10:27.540 They outnumber us, I think.
00:10:30.660 We have the garrison army and then one unit at a ship as well that is coming in.
00:10:36.500 All right, true friends. So this will be a quite straightforward battle.
00:10:40.660 They will try to take the central point.
00:10:43.860 I will try to defend it.
00:10:45.940 So we have one barricade, as you see, indicated here, which we can place.
00:10:51.300 It doesn't really prove that much of an obstacle for them, but some time will be spent for them
00:10:57.860 dealing with that, which allows us to place these missile units there.
00:11:03.540 So if they come and try to hack this barricade down, looks like this close up, quite glorious. 0.96
00:11:11.060 Then we can shoot at them. 0.99
00:11:13.780 Now, what they do have is onagers. 0.99
00:11:19.060 And those are not very nice to deal with.
00:11:24.180 So I'm going to place my cavalry there and swoop out this way to deal with them.
00:11:29.460 Other than that, I will just try to keep the defensive positions right there.
00:11:40.740 And also a shield wall at an incline, as it were, you see it's a little hill there.
00:11:48.020 A good defensive position.
00:11:51.460 And then obviously our missile units being stationed behind this wall,
00:11:57.460 so they get some protection, etc.
00:12:00.740 And we have two more.
00:12:02.740 I love that.
00:12:03.540 Heaven can wait.
00:12:05.060 Absolutely love it.
00:12:06.260 I'm going to put them there.
00:12:07.540 Might rush to this side if need be.
00:12:13.860 Oh, actually, what we're going to do, we're not going to place a barricade there.
00:12:16.660 We're going to place it there.
00:12:17.540 So we shield from the rear there.
00:12:21.140 The general, we want to keep him alive, so we place him there.
00:12:25.060 So, that was my tactical overview.
00:12:36.660 I see they're the...
00:12:39.380 Bustards.
00:12:41.460 Why do they do this to me?
00:12:42.740 The tower is nothing but ash now.
00:12:48.180 And now we're clashing, since we have three units and they have...
00:12:53.620 Two.
00:12:54.340 It shouldn't be any problem for us to deal with those traitors.
00:13:04.020 There we're winning the battle.
00:13:06.020 And if you see the little green crossed swords there, it means that we're winning the battle.
00:13:12.820 Which is obviously...
00:13:16.260 Heaven can wait.
00:13:18.900 And we're getting fired upon her, so we're going to try to quickly charge them.
00:13:24.340 Go on, lads.
00:13:24.980 Go on, lads.
00:13:26.340 For God himself. 1.00
00:13:32.980 This is exactly how you deal with this sort of bastard. 1.00
00:13:41.220 Oh, look there. 1.00
00:13:41.860 They have rallied.
00:13:48.900 I probably should have paid closer attention.
00:13:51.140 But look here.
00:13:54.580 Who's that?
00:13:55.220 Bernando. 0.81
00:13:58.100 Highly blasphemous individual.
00:13:59.940 Now they have done their job there.
00:14:16.980 He is going to run the last...
00:14:20.180 Okay, cool.
00:14:20.740 They are breaking there as well.
00:14:22.020 And when you see the white flag there, it means that they're routing and they will not come back.
00:14:29.300 So they will not be able to rally.
00:14:35.460 And if we get there, general, that's awesome for us.
00:14:38.660 So we're going to try to do that now.
00:14:44.420 That's my thumbnail right here.
00:14:48.660 Epic, epic.
00:14:53.220 I think at least...
00:14:54.180 God. 1.00
00:14:59.220 Trying our very best to kill the killer general. 0.99
00:15:07.620 See the general on the star here. 1.00
00:15:13.620 And we should...
00:15:15.380 Oh God, I forgot our little ship here.
00:15:19.700 Extremely silly of me.
00:15:20.820 And also something you should always look for in any game or battle, I suppose.
00:15:28.420 Always get the rare charge.
00:15:33.140 Ah, nice.
00:15:33.700 Absolutely glorious.
00:15:37.620 Absolutely glorious.
00:15:39.620 There we are.
00:15:40.340 So we broke that charge.
00:15:41.940 We held them here on the little hill.
00:15:44.260 And broke them with the rare charge.
00:15:50.980 And now you see they're beginning to waver.
00:15:53.060 And there is our balance of power again.
00:15:56.180 And I'm going to speed up the gameplay. 0.97
00:15:57.700 In order to just round these bloody traitors up. 0.76
00:16:09.300 I don't really want to charge into... 0.98
00:16:11.540 The enemy has found our concealed units.
00:16:15.860 All right, nice, nice.
00:16:19.620 Glory to God.
00:16:20.900 Glory to God himself, even.
00:16:27.220 Absolutely joyous, let's say.
00:16:30.020 I want to take on these warriors.
00:16:38.740 Rampant piracy.
00:16:41.460 How dare they steal from me.
00:16:44.500 So, there's the rebel army.
00:16:47.140 Hello, rebels. 0.96
00:16:51.780 On the move.
00:16:56.420 Oh, for the love of Talos.
00:16:58.500 They managed to escape there.
00:17:06.820 Gained a rank.
00:17:08.500 How quaint.
00:17:10.580 Conning for a general.
00:17:13.620 Decreases the upkeep of our army.
00:17:16.580 Which means that this army doesn't cost me as much to...
00:17:21.140 To keep, to have, basically.
00:17:23.780 And this is a replenishment.
00:17:25.860 Which means that they are healing up fast.
00:17:27.940 The wounded soldiers from the battle, basically.
00:17:31.700 We're gonna round these heretics up. 0.99
00:17:35.460 And I'm gonna do like that.
00:17:40.180 In a little laxuality.
00:17:42.500 So, uh...
00:17:43.300 And then our settlement got a bit damaged here, as it were.
00:17:48.660 Uh...
00:17:50.180 So, we can't really do much more now.
00:17:53.860 Could maybe...
00:17:55.620 See if we can...
00:17:56.260 I don't want to fight against the duchy of Pamplona, because they're Christian after all. 1.00
00:18:04.660 Oh well.
00:18:07.460 So, what I'm thinking about doing is preparing for war with the Moors again. 1.00
00:18:13.460 To, um...
00:18:14.180 Continue the...
00:18:15.860 The Reconquista, as it were.
00:18:17.380 So, uh...
00:18:18.580 We will...
00:18:24.500 Create a few extra units.
00:18:25.940 And you can see the upkeep per unit is 36 for this.
00:18:30.420 Which means that I can keep them, um...
00:18:33.220 Pay for them for quite a long time without any...
00:18:36.660 Detriment to my...
00:18:38.820 War coffers, as it were.
00:18:41.620 So, I'm gonna send these two armies down. 0.91
00:18:44.660 Including this.
00:18:45.380 And then we're just gonna swoop down.
00:18:46.740 Take Beja. 0.97
00:18:47.540 Take Beja, I mean.
00:18:48.980 And they can't really do anything.
00:18:51.300 And, um...
00:18:53.060 I suppose Seville looks like a tempting target, does it not?
00:18:55.940 I'm gonna assist you further.
00:18:59.700 That, if anything, sounds like a glorious plan for God himself.
00:19:06.180 And then we actually reach the southern Spain.
00:19:09.780 Which, um...
00:19:11.300 Is absolutely...
00:19:13.620 Absolutely glorious.
00:19:18.980 And yet again, the glorious...
00:19:25.940 Our armies must march in your lands for a while.
00:19:33.620 They, uh...
00:19:34.100 Hadiyah also did to the Mount Shekels. 0.96
00:19:36.260 I am flinching, master. 0.99
00:19:37.460 Will burn your cities. 0.87
00:19:39.460 Absolutely not.
00:19:41.300 Absolutely not.
00:19:42.500 You will, uh...
00:19:43.380 You, if anyone, will, uh... 0.95
00:19:44.980 Will burn. 0.59
00:19:49.860 Where is that buster then? 1.00
00:19:51.140 Oh, look at that!
00:19:55.540 Look at that, true friends!
00:19:57.140 Now we actually have a war target here.
00:20:01.060 All places.
00:20:02.660 So we're just gonna send them up.
00:20:05.780 Directly.
00:20:07.060 And take Salamanca.
00:20:09.700 That's, uh...
00:20:11.060 That's nice.
00:20:11.620 Awesome.
00:20:12.100 Cool. 1.00
00:20:12.980 Kill them all! 1.00
00:20:20.660 Is that all? 1.00
00:20:22.740 And...
00:20:24.500 I suppose we can just...
00:20:28.420 How can I assist you?
00:20:30.420 We're gonna keep our king here for another turn or two.
00:20:35.060 And then, uh...
00:20:36.100 We will take...
00:20:37.620 I am a...
00:20:38.340 Fea.
00:20:38.820 That's...
00:20:39.380 That's my promise, true friends.
00:20:40.500 Ready for battle.
00:20:42.340 So.
00:20:43.620 Are you ready to serve?
00:20:47.860 Can I take one more turn?
00:20:50.740 All right, I edited that away.
00:20:54.900 We hunger for battle.
00:20:56.420 Now.
00:20:59.700 We will simply do as such.
00:21:10.900 I'm gonna upgrade this guy's bit.
00:21:17.700 Warhorse.
00:21:18.340 Nice.
00:21:18.820 I love it.
00:21:20.980 Love it.
00:21:27.700 Ah, look at that!
00:21:28.420 It's, uh...
00:21:30.340 It's lying open for the taking.
00:21:32.820 So I suppose I will...
00:21:36.180 What?
00:21:36.500 Another rebellion?
00:21:37.940 How dare they? 0.99
00:21:39.700 Insolent dogs. 0.81
00:21:45.780 We're gonna see if...
00:21:46.900 The champion of the lord can actually assist... 0.97
00:21:49.060 Assassinate Marvan, an imam. 1.00
00:21:52.660 Oh, failure! 1.00
00:21:53.940 How can you fail to kill an imam? 1.00
00:21:56.260 He doesn't even lift, like... 1.00
00:22:00.100 I'm...
00:22:00.660 I'm disappointed.
00:22:02.260 Very disappointed.
00:22:03.220 I don't care how tired you are.
00:22:04.900 I'm gonna send our king up there.
00:22:08.660 A.k.a. me.
00:22:16.900 A church will be built here.
