To be continued...
00:00:30.000
We'll be right back.
00:01:00.000
Greetings, my esteemed audience.
00:01:05.680
I'm checking in from a beautiful winter forest.
00:01:09.140
Now perhaps you hear it in the background, some snow falling from the trees and it's
00:01:12.880
actually raining a bit, so a bit warmer.
00:01:15.200
Hopefully the temperature cools down a bit over Christmas so we can maintain this nice
00:01:20.420
white landscape.
00:01:22.320
Either way, I thought to share my plans for this yuletide for this Christmas.
00:01:26.920
And in sharing said Christmas plans, I'm also sharing a valuable teaching when it comes
00:01:32.000
to health and productivity.
00:01:33.660
So I will use training examples to illustrate my point.
00:01:37.740
Back in the day when I was a young man.
00:01:40.640
Now I'm a venerable ancient, as I said, I'm 3,400 years old.
00:01:45.400
But in my younger years I literally had to force myself to rest from the gym.
00:01:51.080
Because of course I wanted to go to the gym, but I had to force myself because I knew that
00:01:55.480
sometimes you need to slow down and rest.
00:01:58.120
Otherwise you will train too much, maybe.
00:02:01.940
And you will train suboptimally.
00:02:03.380
Because the body itself, not necessarily the muscles, but the skeleton and ligaments, they
00:02:09.940
need a rest.
00:02:10.940
So you can take a deload week and that simply means that for a week you reduce all weights
00:02:15.500
in half, but you train as usual.
00:02:17.300
Or you can just take a rest week, not train at all.
00:02:21.160
You need to do this sometimes to recover the body so you can train hard in the time to come.
00:02:27.280
Now, when we're talking about productivity, perhaps you are an entrepreneur or a student
00:02:31.480
or whatever you do.
00:02:33.300
If you're interested in productivity, you can view your own work in a similar manner.
00:02:37.940
That you take a break from being productive so you can be more productive later on.
00:02:42.160
So on a personal note, I know I have a lot of things to do.
00:02:45.200
A lot of things to do, mainly with logistics in January.
00:02:48.820
So I will have a lot of work to do.
00:02:50.380
So what do I do?
00:02:51.940
Yes, I slow down.
00:02:53.060
I take it easy in December.
00:02:54.780
I rest up and, you know, forcing myself to not be as productive now.
00:02:58.940
So I will be hit by a rush of, a yearn to be productive in January.
00:03:03.500
I've done this many times before and I know it works really well for me that I build up
00:03:08.720
an energy.
00:03:09.300
I recharge myself so much so that when the time comes, usually in the beginning of January,
00:03:14.800
then I've done so much, so many non-productive things that I have charged up my motivation
00:03:20.760
to be productive and then I just unleash it and be, and yeah, I get a lot of things done.
00:03:26.420
So that is something you can keep in mind.
00:03:28.400
So if you ask my Christmas plans and I say that, yeah, I will try Age of Empires 4, because
00:03:33.640
of course I grew up with Age of Empires 2, Age of Mythology and Age of Empires 3, so
00:03:37.700
I want to try the fourth game.
00:03:39.500
I want to play some Assassin's Creed, some Skyrim.
00:03:42.020
I want to read The Siege of Terra, Dan Abnett's latest book.
00:03:45.840
All of these things.
00:03:46.800
You might ask at a first glance, how do these things, how do me playing Skyrim, how does
00:03:52.780
that help in achieving my goals, of imposing my will on the world and, yeah, again, achieving
00:03:58.620
my long-term goals?
00:03:59.980
It doesn't help in the short term, but I'm not playing a short-term game.
00:04:03.160
I'm playing a long-term game.
00:04:05.040
So I need to look out for myself in the long run, in looking out for myself.
00:04:08.980
I'm also looking out for my family, so you need to pace yourself in order to set a high
00:04:13.680
pace later on.
00:04:15.200
So that is how best I can explain, you know, gaming as a husband and father who is quite
00:04:22.100
productive otherwise, how can he then sit down to game?
00:04:25.300
How is this possible?
00:04:26.580
Well, that is the explanation, that you use that time to build up a motivation in you
00:04:31.580
to train harder.
00:04:32.500
No, not train harder, work harder.
00:04:34.080
So I'm using the same example here.
00:04:36.700
Training or working, it's the same thing.
00:04:38.460
So if you haven't trained for a week and you're really into the gym or whatever it
00:04:43.460
might be, it might be jiu-jitsu, you might be bitten by the jiu-jitsu bug, so you really
00:04:48.920
feel like training jiu-jitsu all the time and you haven't trained for a while and then you
00:04:51.940
have that journey to get back to it and that will make you train with more enthusiasm.
00:04:57.540
Same thing in the gym and now in this particular example we have productivity when it comes to
00:05:02.020
a business or whatever it might be.
00:05:04.300
And so that is my plan, to force myself to not be productive.
00:05:08.180
So be with the family, be with the girls, read fiction books, so not my usual books I've
00:05:14.860
read over the last two years.
00:05:16.440
So I'm taking a break from all of that, just relaxing a bit more.
00:05:19.520
And then come January, I believe at least, I haven't decided yet, but I believe I will
00:05:23.600
start Jung-maxing, so reading the works of Carl Jung.
00:05:27.780
Maybe I will start planning my own next book.
00:05:30.600
Who knows?
00:05:31.120
We will see.
00:05:31.740
But the main point here is that taking it easy so I can work harder later on.
00:05:36.620
And yeah, try it yourself if you are in that position.
00:05:39.200
And also do try to, if you are on X a lot and you consume a lot of black pills, try to
00:05:46.960
take a break from that too.
00:05:48.580
You know, if you want to participate in the metapolitical game for a long time, you need
00:05:52.860
to pace yourself as well.
00:05:54.020
You can't constantly bombard your mind with the West is Falling imagery.
00:06:00.640
So yeah, take a break from it as well and then you can get back to it during next year.
00:06:04.520
Now, lastly, for anyone who has ordered something at legiogloria.com, first and foremost, I salute
00:06:09.840
you for supporting my beloved company.
00:06:11.920
This is a prototype, by the way, for a wool scarf.
00:06:14.420
We'll be out next year.
00:06:15.380
Great stuff, great stuff indeed.
00:06:17.340
I also salute you for placing an order of some good stuff because the products, they hold
00:06:22.920
the highest quality, I'm very proud to say.
00:06:25.540
So I salute you.
00:06:27.120
Now, heads up though, in Christmas time, during the entire December and early January actually,
00:06:33.820
the postal system is completely mugged by the sheer volume of orders.
00:06:39.200
So if your package doesn't arrive in time for Christmas, there isn't really much I can
00:06:44.160
do on my part.
00:06:45.180
I don't send the packages out myself, so I can't sign the books either.
00:06:49.200
And you will get a tracking when the order has been sent out.
00:06:55.240
So, but yeah, expect some delays, expect some postal chaos, some logistical chaos.
00:07:00.000
Because I've been through this a few times before, so I know that December is quite chaotic
00:07:04.800
indeed.
00:07:05.560
So do keep that in mind.
00:07:07.440
And of course, I am the customer support on both Jotuname Nutrition and Lig.
00:07:10.740
And now, of course, I am the customer support on Lig.
00:07:15.180
Jotuname Nutrition.
00:07:17.000
I like to interact with the customers myself.
00:07:21.240
Give me a few days over Christmas.
00:07:23.660
I might be a bit slower to respond to some emails because I want to, as I said, take it
00:07:28.020
a bit easier.
00:07:28.620
But yeah, I'll get back to all emails as soon as possible anyway.
00:07:33.240
After Christmas, that is.
00:07:35.380
So, good stuff, good stuff.
00:07:36.920
I hope you'll also have a harmonious and peaceful Christmas.
00:07:39.800
I hope I will have it.
00:07:41.220
You never know, but I hope for it at least.
00:07:43.300
Now, in terms of productivity, I will make, of course, the monthly podcast episode.
00:07:47.480
It will be about the cult of Mithras.
00:07:49.480
So that will be nice to make.
00:07:51.680
So that will be my productivity for the end of the month.
00:07:56.100
And if you aren't already subscribed to the podcast, do so.
00:07:59.400
Check it out.
00:07:59.860
I go a bit more in depth in my discussions.
00:08:04.260
So I pick a topic, elaborate on it.
00:08:06.260
And then I, in the beginning of each episode, I talk a bit about training, biohacking, some
00:08:10.980
updates, some politics, everything like that.
00:08:14.560
So do check it out.
