00:00:00.640 Greetings Ladingtons! I'm checking in from a sun-drenched and paradise-like
00:00:06.200 Scandinavian landscape. I'm checking in with some insights. Now I'm hardly the
00:00:11.720 first one to talk about this but I just wanted to add my voice to the choir. The
00:00:17.200 choir of lament. No, nothing so defeatist I assure you. But anyway I wanted to talk
00:00:23.520 a bit about fatherhood and how fatherhood and fathers are being portrayed
00:00:28.480 in culture. And just having a look at mainstream culture you see the dad as
00:00:33.280 being a character of not-so-respectable nature. You see him more as a joke. The
00:00:40.780 only thing he's good at is giving out money to his wife and kids etc. His wife
00:00:46.060 doesn't really find him attractive, doesn't respect him. His children do not
00:00:51.100 respect him either. He is, yeah, the punchline of a joke seen as lazy, stupid
00:00:58.300 weak, fat. All he does is drink beer and watch the football game on the couch in
00:01:04.420 front of the TV. Now compare this to how fathers were portrayed a hundred years
00:01:10.060 ago. You know, you had a kind, loving, good man who, you know, inspired respect and
00:01:17.920 trust in his family. And you know, you can view fatherhood in two different ways. What
00:01:24.780 kind of father do you want to be? Do you want to be a safe haven for your family? Do
00:01:32.020 you want to be someone they can always trust? Both in terms of safety, security
00:01:38.160 and also in trust of doing and knowing what's best for everyone. You can compare
00:01:45.120 this if you have a ship. If you want to travel across a stormy sea, you have the
00:01:51.360 option of two captains. One captain is confident, knowledgeable, experienced. He
00:01:58.260 knows what he's doing. Then you have a captain who seems a bit unsure about
00:02:03.300 himself, doesn't really inspire confidence, who will have the most common
00:02:09.840 collected crew and passengers. Of course the competent captain will inspire the
00:02:17.100 most trust. And the same thing with a family. As a father, in my view at least,
00:02:21.120 you should be the captain of the ship. You should steer it, you know, away from
00:02:25.680 dangers. If dangers appear, you confront them. You should also know, you know, in
00:02:31.260 terms of wisdom and knowledge, what to do. Your role as a father should not only be to
00:02:36.000 provide, but also to protect and to serve as a teacher, a mentor, a safe haven for
00:02:43.100 your children and for your wife. Now contrast that with the mainstream portrayal
00:02:51.380 of a father who's, yeah, basically a joke. So that is what I want you to think about
00:02:57.720 when you think of a father. I want to be a high-thumos father. I don't want to be a
00:03:05.100 joke dad. Didn't know what else to call it, but you know what I mean. And so that is
00:03:13.920 the first thing we need to change in culture. You know, the gravitas of the
00:03:18.280 father. Getting away from the dad bod dad who's lazy in front of the TV and get to
00:03:25.520 the, you know, esteemed and respected and loved patriarch of the family who knows
00:03:30.340 what is best. So for me personally, again, I want to be a patriarch who takes care of
00:03:37.780 his family. Even into old age, you can have grandchildren, etc. And they can look
00:03:42.160 upon you to know, you know, this is a man I can emulate. Then of course you can have
00:03:48.360 mentors, etc. that you can emulate too, but you want to have that sense of, you know,
00:03:53.260 calm composure. Then something else I thought to mention and I want to say
00:03:58.720 something first, and that is I want the best for you because you are on my side
00:04:06.000 after all in this great struggle of our civilization. Mainstream culture and the
00:04:12.780 people who work in mainstream culture, for the most part, they don't really like
00:04:16.480 you at all. So you can choose who to listen to. You can listen to me or to them
00:04:21.280 and you can decide which is the best advice, who gives, who portrays the best
00:04:28.060 course of action. Now, the way I see it, mainstream culture, they don't want you to
00:04:34.240 be a father. They don't want you to be strong, happy, healthy. They want you to be a
00:04:38.500 subjugated servant to their agenda. I want the opposite for you. And what I see they
00:04:47.080 are trying to portray is, you know, fatherhood as being the end of your youth,
00:04:54.580 the end of your youthful energy, the end of your individual quest for glory. This is true,
00:05:04.820 you can be an entrepreneur, you can be an artist, a martial artist, an athlete, a writer,
00:05:12.100 whatever you are, you are on your path towards greatness that you've been working
00:05:17.260 for over a long period of time. Becoming a father does not mean you have to quit. It
00:05:24.100 doesn't mean that you suddenly only do fatherly duties. You can view it as having an additional job,
00:05:30.700 an additional responsibility. But again, for me, I envision myself now, I want to conquer as much as
00:05:38.140 possible. In terms of the clothing company and the supplement company, I want to conquer as much as
00:05:42.940 possible. Now I also want to be an author, continue writing good books that many people appreciate.
00:05:51.180 These two goals, being in conquest mode in terms of entrepreneurship and business and writing books,
00:05:58.460 they are completely in congruence with being a father. There's absolutely nothing that says that
00:06:04.460 I have to, you know, go away from my vision, from my path upwards to glory. I can still do it.
00:06:13.500 Same thing for you. You can still be the best athlete, you can be the best musician, you can be,
00:06:20.220 you can be all of these things whilst being a father. So instead of viewing fatherhood as, you know,
00:06:26.540 now you are a father, so now you cannot do anything. You cannot be a Hithumos youthful man anymore. You
00:06:35.100 need to cast that away. And also, it depends on how you view yourself. You can, of course, be
00:06:43.980 completely domesticated. You know, getting a dad bod, now I'm a dad, so now I have
00:06:49.660 the excuse to not set the pace high in the Temple of Iron. That's up to you. But then also, in terms
00:06:57.900 of what sort of father figure you want to be, do you want to be the dad bod dad who is the joke,
00:07:06.460 who's a punchline in every joke? Or do you want to be the respectable patriarch? Yeah, if you want to
00:07:12.540 be the respected patriarch, then you have to still maintain your discipline. Then you can't
00:07:19.340 use being a father as an excuse to not set the pace high. Of course, everyone is short on time,
00:07:24.860 I'm short on time too, but I know I need to train for a number of reasons. And I suggest you do it
00:07:30.540 too. So you don't become, you know, trapped in that mentality of now you are a dad. And a dad can only do
00:07:37.580 certain things. So view your own quest for glory straight forward upwards. And then you have a family
00:07:45.340 also. They don't need to be in competition with each other, I assure you. And whenever you think
00:07:53.500 that way, I want you to remember that that is the vision being presented to you
00:07:59.980 by an enemy that do not like you at all. I, your friend, want the best for you. And I say you can
00:08:09.420 have both. You can have your own quest for glory and be a father. So to conclude, we need to
00:08:16.620 reinvigorate the high thumos father and we need to combat the dad bod dad, the joke dad. And it's
00:08:31.900 up to you what you want to be. So I encourage you to view fatherhood as something good and something
00:08:38.540 that is completely in congruence with what you are already doing. And don't let it completely consume
00:08:45.020 you. You still have your own vision for the future. So yeah, I hope that made sense. Now,
00:08:50.940 a last note on everyone who has ordered clothes or my book. There have been severe delays, especially
00:08:59.020 to the U.S. and Canada. So keep that in mind if you have ordered. And if you want to order,
00:09:03.820 it might be a few extra weeks of wait in the worst case scenario. So keep that in mind.
00:09:09.340 But thank you kindly to everyone who has ordered. Much appreciated. So anyway, thank you for

00:09:58.220 world. So I'll sync you with that. Look what Jesus can achieve that all possible.
