00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to the Great America Show, and great to have you with us.
00:00:06.320 You know, sometimes it's more important to think about what isn't being discussed than what is being pushed, peddled, and published by the corporatist national media.
00:00:15.760 A case in point, Julian Assange.
00:00:19.280 The Justice Department has been after the WikiLeaks founder for years.
00:00:23.560 He faces 18 federal charges for publishing classified and sensitive government cables and reports on the Iraq and Afghan wars.
00:00:33.940 Assange has successfully fought extradition to the United States, first by hiding in the London Embassy of Ecuador for seven years.
00:00:42.460 Then three years ago, U.K. authorities arrested him, and he spent three years in Belmarsh Prison near London.
00:00:49.080 Assange now has two weeks in which to appeal his extradition to the United States.
00:00:55.600 So why is the Department of Justice so intent, so unrelenting in their pursuit of Assange?
00:01:02.460 It seems to me there's a very likely possibility that the deep state and Marxist Dems aren't great fans of WikiLeaks,
00:01:11.100 which, after all, reported that the DNC had favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in 2016.
00:01:18.020 That may have been Assange's great crime, given the tight relationship between the DNC and the DOJ,
00:01:27.120 as well as the claim that Russia, yes, here's Russia again, had leaked the DNC emails that so embarrassed the DNC.
00:01:36.180 But still, why is our DOJ so interested in Assange?
00:01:42.540 In my opinion, not for what he published, all of it is true, but for what he knows about the relationship between the Department of Justice and the Democrat National Committee.
00:01:54.640 We now know that the DOJ had a portal inside the DNC law firm Perkins Coy for more than a decade.
00:02:03.840 Think about that.
00:02:04.700 Assange might be able to tell us a lot more about the Department of Justice, which seems more like a front agency for the Democratic Party, or perhaps even worse.
00:02:16.600 So, as usual, there's a lot going on.
00:02:19.740 More federal corruption throughout the intelligence agencies still.
00:02:23.600 The FBI and the DOJ.
00:02:26.040 And I think we'll be learning a lot more in the weeks ahead.
00:02:30.340 And now we're facing mounting threats from China.
00:02:33.260 President Xi giving the PLA authority to carry out military operations in the South China Sea specifically,
00:02:40.560 which some strategic analysts believe gives the PLA authority, which it could use to invade Taiwan.
00:02:48.700 With us today, Asian expert, author, columnist, radio host, Gordon Chang.
00:02:53.740 Gordon, great to have you with us.
00:02:55.220 Does it look to you as though Volodymyr Zelensky made a huge mistake when he publicly warned leading nations to watch communist China carefully?
00:03:05.840 Because the Chinese, he said, want to invade Taiwan.
00:03:10.160 Now, just within three days of that, President Xi made it clear to the world China supports Putin's war against Ukraine.
00:03:18.420 Your thoughts?
00:03:19.080 Xi Jinping's phone call with Vladimir Putin on Wednesday showed complete defiance of the Biden administration.
00:03:28.360 China, as they say, is not deterred by the U.S.
00:03:31.560 And after all of Biden's warnings to China over Ukraine, this phone call where Xi Jinping clearly supported Russia's efforts 100 percent is an indication that the Chinese do not respect Biden.
00:03:45.560 They don't think that we can stop China.
00:03:48.060 And that loom makes this one of the most dangerous moments in history, because you have two large states, China and Russia, now believe that they can do what they want.
00:03:57.500 And of course, it's not just the two of them, it's their proxies.
00:04:00.980 So North Korea, Iran, Algeria, Pakistan.
00:04:05.540 This is how world wars start.
00:04:07.460 It is how they start.
00:04:10.080 And some are saying, including some of the Russians, that that war is already underway.
00:04:16.420 And listening to the defense minister of the People's Republic, it sounds like he wants to to go well beyond any sort of questionable start to conflict.
00:04:27.940 He wants China to be right in the middle of it. 0.52
00:04:30.120 And he did everything but insult Lloyd Austin, the defense secretary, to his face, insult the United States.
00:04:38.420 And Lloyd Austin sat there and took it like the woke weakling he is and just whimpered as he left the office and returned to the United States talking about how aggressive the Chinese are. 0.98
00:04:50.880 What a pathetic cast of characters in this Biden White House. 1.00
00:04:55.320 It's just disgusting. 0.99
00:04:56.260 Yes, and that's why you have both Moscow and Beijing acting up at the same time. 0.98
00:05:03.940 The one thing about China right now is you can smell war in the air because Chinese flag officers want to kill.
00:05:12.180 And we can see this from what they're doing.
00:05:14.240 So, for instance, on May 26, they fired flares and chaff at a Royal Australian Air Force P-8A, Poseidon reconnaissance craft.
00:05:24.960 Some of that material was ingested in one of the aircraft's two engines, which means that we're very fortunate that they were able to get back to base.
00:05:36.060 China wanted to bring down that plane.
00:05:38.800 And so we've got to understand the mentality on the other side right now that the Chinese want war.
00:05:44.800 Well, can I interject here just for a minute?
00:05:48.460 When you say they want war, we put a P-8A out in front. 0.99
00:05:54.900 The Australians do, but part of the combined operation, the coalition.
00:06:00.500 Why wasn't there a fighter aircraft with that P-8A?
00:06:04.180 And why don't we make statements by putting those fighter aircraft alongside them and making certain where it's no longer a surprise when the Chinese overfly the Taiwanese defense zone.
00:06:21.080 It is no longer a surprise when they go after Australia or Canada or the United States aircraft as they monitor the South China Sea, the Strait of Taiwan.
00:06:31.580 Why are we being so reticent?
00:06:35.260 This isn't the way the United States is supposed to operate.
00:06:39.320 You're absolutely right, Lou.
00:06:40.500 There has been long-running discussions inside the U.S. military about how to protect reconnaissance flights.
00:06:49.240 And this goes back to earlier intercepts of American craft in international airspace.
00:06:55.540 And the feeling is that the U.S. doesn't have enough fighters to protect our reconnaissance craft because it would be a commitment.
00:07:04.720 This shows, for instance, a lack of resources in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Navy to protect them.
00:07:12.280 And we know that this is not a theoretical danger because of, for instance, the EP-3 incident of April 1st, 2001.
00:07:19.500 But also something more recent, which is we don't talk about.
00:07:25.300 And that is in the spring of 2018 near Djibouti, which is in the Horn of Africa,
00:07:31.500 China lasered a U.S. Air Force C-130, blinded both of the pilots temporarily.
00:07:39.040 And that means we were very, very lucky that that plane was able to land.
00:07:45.420 And we didn't say anything about it.
00:07:47.760 So these are incidents that the Chinese provoke. 1.00
00:07:51.520 They are just testing us.
00:07:53.440 And we are not meeting their test.
00:07:55.840 Well, then also look at the drone swarms over, you know, a couple of our ships, our Navy ships off the coast of San Diego there.
00:08:08.880 And we find out they were Chinese drones.
00:08:13.360 No response, no protest, no reaction of any kind, just puzzlement and head scratching on the part of the good admirals in the Pentagon.
00:08:22.300 I mean, it's getting silly.
00:08:23.880 There isn't enough character, it seems to me, or a real principle amongst our military leaders.
00:08:33.640 This should not be tolerated for a moment because this is the kind of weak response that, as you point out, I think absolutely correctly, leads to war.
00:08:43.920 Because one side is weak and doesn't understand how to meet the other in peace,
00:08:49.280 then they sure as hell won't know what they're doing when war starts.
00:08:52.260 I couldn't agree with you more, Lou.
00:08:55.080 And this is the challenge that the United States continually fails.
00:08:58.680 We do not understand the maliciousness of China.
00:09:01.740 We have an indulgent military.
00:09:03.820 We have an indulgent political class that fails to comprehend the existential nature of the challenge from China. 0.99
00:09:11.120 When you say political class, I'm thinking, golly, you know, what an expression for guys like Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Tom Tillis, and their ilk.
00:09:21.760 Those are just the rhinos.
00:09:23.760 Then if you include the Marxist Dems, all of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives fit in that category. 0.50
00:09:31.480 We are looking at a clash of ideologies within our country that is almost as sharp and defined and, I would say, as vicious as any external conflict,
00:09:45.240 whether it be with the Communist Chinese or whether it be with a dictator, Vladimir Putin, or the Ayatollahs in Iran.
00:09:53.920 We are a country right now so divided and so, I would say, desensitized to intelligent discussion and debate about the issues that are important
00:10:11.120 that all we're left with is this mad ideological confrontation between Marxist Dems and rhino liberal Republicans. 0.89
00:10:20.520 Yeah, to put this in historical context, you know, we Americans look back at the British and French in the 1930s
00:10:28.780 and wonder how could they fail to understand the challenge that Hitler was posing, not only to them, but to the international system.
00:10:36.700 And right now we're seeing the same thing with the Biden administration and that political class in the United States.
00:10:42.820 You know, China just killed 1,012,000 Americans with coronavirus by deliberately spreading it beyond their borders. 0.94
00:10:52.200 They kill about 100,000 Americans a year with fentanyl.
00:10:56.460 And there is no response on the part of the United States.
00:11:01.580 There has been a response.
00:11:03.620 Biden has opened the borders farther.
00:11:06.300 He has embraced the cartels.
00:11:08.120 This is the most pro-cartel administration in American history.
00:11:13.580 It is, in point of fact, a facilitator and a complicit partner with the cartels and those fentanyl deaths.
00:11:21.660 In sex trafficking, in human smuggling, drug smuggling of all kinds, 1.00
00:11:29.280 we are witnessing the rupture of our sovereignty by this idiot, 1.00
00:11:34.780 this impaired fool who is nothing more than the subject of the puppet masters that run that White House, 1.00
00:11:44.620 whomever they may be. 1.00
00:11:46.020 And people are trying to pretend that this is a president?
00:11:49.860 Give me a break.
00:11:51.140 The only people in this country, in this world, who don't know that he is a joke
00:11:55.360 are the American media and the two political parties who keep pretending that somehow he is competent,
00:12:02.800 that he is not inept, and that he is cognitively secure and well.
00:12:10.680 I mean, it's an absurdity.
00:12:12.420 Well, you got me there, Lou, because you're absolutely right about that.
00:12:15.800 We have a president who is determined not to defend the American people,
00:12:20.020 who are determined not to protect us from China, 0.80
00:12:23.180 and who is determined not to see the Chinese maliciousness and the danger that they pose to us. 0.94
00:12:29.020 You know, I just don't know what to say.
00:12:32.360 You know, as we've talked about before,
00:12:35.060 America by the metrics is a far stronger society than China.
00:12:38.960 But we now have a president who is not defending us from the attacks from China. 0.78
00:12:44.240 So we could lose our republic.
00:12:46.660 Yeah.
00:12:47.260 It's, we are losing our republic.
00:12:49.980 Let there be no doubt about it.
00:12:51.520 We are being eroded in this country societally.
00:12:56.900 We are institutionally and governmentally, politically.
00:13:01.200 It's disgusting what we're permitting to happen.
00:13:04.740 And we've got to rise above this slumber that we're in and awaken.
00:13:11.320 Now, you use the analogy of pre-World War II, Europe, and the appeasement of first and foremost, of course, England.
00:13:21.920 But there was also a weakness that made that almost necessary,
00:13:26.500 because the British Navy was not what it once was at that point.
00:13:30.720 They were not ready to go.
00:13:32.800 It was the best they had.
00:13:34.600 Their air force was not in any way ready for war.
00:13:37.760 And they managed to turn that around, thanks to Churchill and the organization that he created at 10 Downing.
00:13:47.840 But we don't have that opportunity.
00:13:50.800 We have aircraft that are half-century old.
00:13:53.420 The United States, in the midst of the greatest technological boom in the world history,
00:14:01.960 finds itself 50 years behind technologically in our weaponry.
00:14:06.500 We are behind the Chinese and the Russians and hypersonic missiles, 1.00
00:14:11.720 and we are the ones who developed them through DARPA by 2000 and walked away from it.
00:14:21.220 At the time that we thought war was all going to be tribal and guerrilla tactics
00:14:26.220 and the long war doctrine for insurgencies,
00:14:29.420 I mean, the military and the intelligence agency of this country have been a disaster.
00:14:36.780 Their thought leadership does not exist.
00:14:39.940 Their basic ability to carry out their duties as intelligence agencies and the military to defend the nation 0.99
00:14:46.140 has been weakened to the point that it is pathetic.
00:14:48.780 And I hope that every American understands that we're getting exactly, exactly what we asked for
00:14:56.340 in our permissive and tolerant turn that we've taken in this country.
00:15:02.460 Yeah.
00:15:03.160 In 1967, NASA flew the X-15 at 6.7 Mach.
00:15:08.740 That's more than hypersonic.
00:15:10.560 And yet we abandoned, as you point out, that technology because we didn't want to spark an arms race.
00:15:17.840 We felt that if we restrained ourselves, that we could entice Russia and China into similar restraint.
00:15:24.480 Well, obviously that's wrong.
00:15:26.100 And the reason why that dynamic is so dangerous is because it's the same thing in space,
00:15:31.320 in terms of space weaponry.
00:15:33.480 Especially when you go back to the Obama administration, they took many measures, decided not to take many measures,
00:15:42.660 and essentially said, look, we're not going to defend our assets because if we do that, we will start a war in space.
00:15:50.900 And so we think that the Russians and the Chinese will follow our lead.
00:15:55.020 Well, guess what, Lou?
00:15:56.460 They didn't follow our lead.
00:15:58.120 And right now our assets in space are in danger.
00:16:00.860 And one other point about the Chinese having better weapons than us, their cruise missiles have got longer ranges than ours.
00:16:10.520 And the Navy is really desperately trying to catch up.
00:16:14.140 And the reason is we were in the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Agreement, INF, the Cold War Cornerstone Agreement.
00:16:21.500 But the Chinese weren't. 0.99
00:16:23.580 Only we and Russia were. 0.94
00:16:24.760 And it was President Trump who took us out of INF, which is now allowing the Navy to catch up.
00:16:30.180 We just don't understand the nature of the world in the Biden administration.
00:16:35.000 And clearly we need new approaches, approaches that we saw in the previous administration.
00:16:40.480 Those would work.
00:16:41.540 The ones of the current administration don't work.
00:16:44.140 You know, it seems to me, too, that it's time for everybody to get very honest about our military academies, the Air Force Academy, the military, Annapolis.
00:16:53.700 Because these officers, these flag officers are coming out of those academies.
00:16:59.360 And it's about time we had a commission to actually go in and audit and understand completely what is happening in those academies.
00:17:07.960 Because if they're as woke as the generals who are demanding this nonsense across all branches, then we're in big trouble because it's happening sooner to younger officers who one day will be leading.
00:17:21.640 We're missing every opportunity here to focus on doing better, being better, and insisting that our leaders be the real deal.
00:17:32.240 Because what we're putting on the front lines right now are G5 riding big shots who are playing at leadership rather than, in fact, leading and acting in the national interest.
00:17:44.560 It's dispiriting, it is disgusting, and everybody's got to tune in to the reality of what we have become.
00:17:52.380 Amen to that.
00:17:53.800 I've got a really good friend whose son is a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Europe.
00:17:59.940 And his son says to him, Dad, our military isn't lethal anymore.
00:18:07.840 Not lethal.
00:18:08.860 Well, that's a fortunate situation for a military.
00:18:12.720 Absolutely.
00:18:13.320 And what you say about woke culture being indoctrinated into our officer corps, that's absolutely 100% correct.
00:18:22.880 We need a new administration because we need a military that will fight.
00:18:28.120 We need a military that believes in the United States.
00:18:31.080 We need a military that is training to go to war instead of the current social diversity training that they're getting at this particular time. 0.74
00:18:39.340 Yeah, it's important for all of us to, I think, if I may say, Gordon, to remember this isn't just about one administration.
00:18:47.740 The previous administration also was met with fierce resistance at every level when this president tried to modernize,
00:18:54.820 when this president tried to bring back our troops from police actions and stationary commands, whether it be in South Korea or Germany,
00:19:04.600 which we should have brought back years ago, and President Trump tried his level best, but he couldn't find support amongst a feckless group of rhinos who command the U.S. Senate, period. 0.98
00:19:20.160 Whether they're Democrats or rhino liberals. 0.98
00:19:23.400 Yeah, this goes back to the point about the political class.
00:19:27.500 We need a political class that believes in America, that believes in American exceptionalism, that is willing to fight to protect us,
00:19:35.480 which is not to say that we want to fight.
00:19:38.220 It just says that we need to deter our enemies.
00:19:41.040 And unless we show some spirit, the Chinas and the Russias, the Irans, the North Koreas, the Pakistans, the Algerias are going to move because they feel that we cannot oppose them. 0.98
00:19:53.400 The Ukrainian war with Russia, I don't even like to say it that way because it is not a particularly, it's not an apt description of what is happening there.
00:20:03.440 It's a devastating process, a grinder, a meat grinder of an operation on the part of the Russians. 0.96
00:20:11.120 The Ukrainians, let's be honest, have very little chance of success, particularly now with a leader that is behaving as Zelensky is. 0.97
00:20:20.920 He's starting to act more like a rock star than a man fighting for his nation's very existence and his own life.
00:20:27.640 But your thoughts about what is what will be the outcome there now that basically, not basically, President Xi has given Putin the green light and promised his support of Putin.
00:20:41.660 This is important because in this new phase of the war, which has been going on now for about three or four weeks, the Russians are winning. 0.90
00:20:50.220 They are grinding down the Ukrainian military and they are exhausting the defenders, which means that the unthinkable, as some people say, because I think it is actually thinkable.
00:21:03.860 And that is Russia could end up absorbing all of Ukraine.
00:21:07.620 The reason why this is important from my perspective is that, as Fareed Zakaria said, and this is the first time I've ever agreed with him, that the best way to deter China is to make sure Russia loses in Ukraine. 0.66
00:21:23.440 Good Lord, isn't that a, you know, I hate to say this, that is sort of a, Fareed Zakaria, sort of entangled mess of thought.
00:21:34.100 I understand you agree with him, but I have to say that if he can connect those two, it tells me that he has some over under bet on something because it doesn't make any sense to me.
00:21:47.520 What we have to say, what we have to do is stay the hell out of the war in Ukraine.
00:21:51.360 We have already spent $60 billion in aid while Europe has done almost nothing.
00:21:57.820 And the glib leaders are in Ukraine right now.
00:22:03.500 Germany, France, the UK, the European Union Parliament, the European Parliament is holding forth.
00:22:13.160 She is there as well.
00:22:14.700 And why should we be involved?
00:22:18.840 Why should we be giving away money when we have to borrow it from China to give Ukraine money?
00:22:25.280 This was not lend-lease.
00:22:26.860 This is not a loan.
00:22:28.080 This isn't a purchase.
00:22:29.520 This is a gift from the United States that is now $30 trillion in debt with 100,000 of our troops on the eastern flank in Europe.
00:22:38.480 And what are the Europeans doing to preserve their own life, their own culture, their own society, their own European Union?
00:22:47.460 Not a damn thing, Gordon. 0.97
00:22:49.740 Not a damn thing. 0.99
00:22:50.760 You know, as you point out, I've got a different view on this. 0.93
00:22:55.840 But the point that we agree on is that our military now is depleted.
00:23:00.740 We don't have a lot of the stores of munitions because they've been sent over to Ukraine.
00:23:06.540 And that means the Chinese look at this and they say, well, will the United States have any capability to defend its interest in Asia?
00:23:16.880 And I think that, you know, you look around and you see both China and Russia and their proxies are now thinking that the U.S. is so exhausted, not only from a military capability point of view, but from others as well.
00:23:33.720 So that's what makes this moment dangerous.
00:23:35.740 And that's the reason when we look back on this period, historians are going to look at Trump and say, Trump kept the peace, four years of peace.
00:23:47.360 And that was bookended on both ends by Obama and Biden by periods of turbulence where bad actors moved and were able to make gains.
00:23:56.720 With impunity.
00:23:57.280 With impunity.
00:23:58.120 With impunity.
00:23:58.720 And they did not do that in the four years that President Trump was in the Oval Office.
00:24:04.020 Yeah.
00:24:04.800 Do you know what?
00:24:05.740 We'll still have the left, the Marxist left in this country, denouncing Donald Trump because of his mean tweets, because they couldn't control.
00:24:17.980 The left in this country is corporate America.
00:24:21.400 It is our corporatist media.
00:24:23.560 And it is carrying out a daily disinformation campaign that makes anything the Chinese and the Russians are doing pale in comparison. 0.55
00:24:33.340 And people have to understand who these people are. 1.00
00:24:36.700 They're ignorant. 1.00
00:24:37.680 They hate America. 1.00
00:24:38.680 They sure as hell hate us.
00:24:41.080 Church-going, God-fearing Americans working hard every day.
00:24:46.320 We're not their kind of people.
00:24:47.780 The people they want are dependent. 0.96
00:24:51.240 They are ignorant enough to vote as a bloc day after day and time after time, irrespective of the policies that are being followed. 0.94
00:25:01.220 And that is the essential conflict and contest right now. 0.98
00:25:07.400 No, you're absolutely right about that.
00:25:09.180 I mean, we have companies that are parroting, for instance, communist Chinese lines.
00:25:14.220 The president of the United States is parroting and further distributing China's narratives about xenophobia in the U.S., for instance, which was one of President Biden's first executive orders on January 20 of 2021.
00:25:30.360 One of the first things he did moments after being sworn in.
00:25:34.580 We do not need Beijing's propaganda being amplified by the Oval Office.
00:25:39.400 And that's exactly what's happened.
00:25:41.260 And as you point out, it's also being amplified by corporate boardrooms across America.
00:25:45.980 So the American people are under attack, both internally and externally.
00:25:50.960 And one of the things I hope this audience will pay some attention to, and that is what Wall Street firms are doing.
00:25:57.920 Wall Street firms right now in the midst of the – we now have a bear market across Wall Street.
00:26:03.980 We now have turmoil and turbulence, the likes of which we haven't seen in a very long time.
00:26:10.420 It makes even the onset of the pandemic look tame by comparison.
00:26:15.640 But what we do have are Wall Street firms that even as we are preparing for conflict with China are insisting that their investor capital go to China to invest in Chinese companies.
00:26:31.540 And instead of talking about moving – let's get something really special and disruptive and intriguing and compelling going in this country, let's talk about tool and die.
00:26:44.740 Let's talk about basic fundamental manufacturing, what we can do to resurrect that once great, proud, and supreme manufacturing sector.
00:26:55.000 But it isn't happening.
00:26:56.400 They want to send money over to China so they can continue with keeping a million people enslaved. 0.94
00:27:04.920 The mindlessness of it is just overwhelming, and we don't have a clear and honest voice in this country talking about what is happening because they're co-opted and owned by corporate America.
00:27:18.300 They're owned by the radical left, and by that I mean academia, I mean our public education.
00:27:26.760 It is now a complete, complete consortium that is conspiring against the interest of the United States and the American people from within.
00:27:38.840 Absolutely right.
00:27:40.980 You have Ray Dalio, you have Larry Fink.
00:27:44.100 They are promoting the Chinese equities. 0.84
00:27:48.080 And essentially what this is doing is it is enriching a hostile state, which is configuring its military to kill Americans. 0.65
00:27:56.100 Instead, we should be onshoring our industry.
00:27:59.260 We should be giving good jobs to Americans.
00:28:01.820 We should be making our supply chains resilient by doing that.
00:28:05.140 And, by the way, it also cleans the environment because we don't have all of this transportation across the Pacific.
00:28:12.460 Fifteen of the world's largest container ships pour as much carbon into the atmosphere as all the world's vehicles.
00:28:19.580 So if you want to talk…
00:28:21.780 Say that again because Jonathan Bass uses this statistic as well.
00:28:26.500 It's worth repeating so everybody understands what these Chinese ships carrying all these Chinese goods to the United States principally, what they do, if you would, Gordon.
00:28:40.040 Yeah.
00:28:40.500 Fifteen of the world's largest container ships put as much carbon into the atmosphere as all the world's vehicles.
00:28:47.720 And that means that onshoring industry is great for the climate. 1.00
00:28:52.640 If you're John Kerry and you're worried about climate change, well, you should be an onshoring advocate because that means when you manufacture close to consumers, there's much less carbon that's put into the air to transport materials and finished goods between the point of the factory and consumers.
00:29:12.860 And let's be clear, you won't hear that statistic at Davos.
00:29:18.880 You will not hear that statistic at Davos nor on Wall Street or in corporate America or, by the way, from any of the Wall Street firms who want you to invest your money in China.
00:29:31.560 It's crazy.
00:29:33.240 People wonder why this market is in trouble.
00:29:35.200 Well, let me give you just a couple of influences as we wrap up here, and I'll turn it over to you for your concluding thoughts, if I may, Gordon.
00:29:43.500 But one of the things that people really have to capture here is that where does that $18 trillion on the Fed balance sheet, where does that go?
00:29:55.480 Does that go just to commercial banks in the United States, just within the U.S. economy?
00:30:01.180 Hell no.
00:30:01.920 That money is swashing across Europe to China, by the way.
00:30:09.800 And at the same time, our fiscal policy?
00:30:12.940 Our fiscal policy makes no differentiation between the foreign and the domestic.
00:30:19.360 We have a mindlessness that is ingrained in our international institutions, whether it is the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund,
00:30:29.220 the corporate America, Wall Street firms.
00:30:33.780 I mean, it's just disgusting to see that academia won't touch these issues, because they know we've outsourced so many millions of American jobs.
00:30:44.680 We've offshored so much production that we have no capacity right now.
00:30:49.640 If we got into a shooting war with China right now, my wager would be this, that they would cut off every pharmaceutical ingredient and pharmaceutical drug immediately. 0.97
00:31:04.700 And that would put millions of lives at risk in the United States. 1.00
00:31:09.080 And these idiots in this country, running this country, won't even honestly discuss that issue and the importance of getting away from that kind of dependence on China. 1.00
00:31:20.280 Your thoughts, your concluding thoughts, if you would. 1.00
00:31:22.500 In the first months of the coronavirus pandemic, China's propaganda outlets actually threatened to throw the United States into, quote, a mighty sea of coronavirus.
00:31:35.180 In other words, to do exactly what you've talked about, Lou, which is to cut America off from pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients and personal protective equipment.
00:31:46.260 And so they also nationalized a U.S. factory making the masks.
00:31:50.260 The solution to our problems, Lou, as you first pointed out, is to make in America. 0.52
00:31:57.740 Make in America the goods for Americans.
00:32:00.400 We do that.
00:32:02.040 We end up changing opinions.
00:32:05.200 We end up strengthening our country.
00:32:07.040 We end up giving good jobs.
00:32:08.980 Families are stronger.
00:32:10.360 We have a stronger nation.
00:32:12.240 So you're absolutely right.
00:32:14.480 Make in America now.
00:32:17.140 Gordon Chang, always great to talk with you, my friend.
00:32:21.700 Thanks so much for being with us and sharing your perspective, your always enlightening perspective.
00:32:27.180 We appreciate it.
00:32:28.560 Gordon Chang.
00:32:29.840 Thank you so much, Lou.
00:32:31.900 Thanks, everybody, for being with us today.
00:32:34.160 Here tomorrow, we'll take up the Marxist left and the deep state.
00:32:37.620 Their persecution of January 6th demonstrators and hundreds of so-called rioters, the Department of Justice and FBI have trampled the rights for many of these citizens, and it's inexcusable.
00:32:49.840 It's also barely reported upon.
00:32:53.300 No one better in reporting on these outrages than American greatness writer Julie Kelly. 0.97
00:32:59.040 She's our guest here tomorrow on The Great America Show.
00:33:02.060 I hope you'll be with us as well.
00:33:04.340 Till then, God bless you, and God bless America.
