00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to the Great America Show.
00:00:04.800 We all know the country's mood is souring.
00:00:07.880 The economy, while still strong, is also still weakening.
00:00:11.760 And we all know the Democrat Party is led by Marxists.
00:00:15.940 And the permanent bureaucracy, the deep state, is about to be reinforced.
00:00:20.880 And the federal government about to get a lot bigger.
00:00:24.220 Almost 90,000 IRS gun-toting agents at a cost of about $80 billion are being hired.
00:00:32.820 Just why are we doubling the size of the IRS?
00:00:36.980 Whose idea was that, anyway?
00:00:39.860 And is it really the smartest way to spend taxpayer money?
00:00:44.240 Just why do we need all those IRS agents, and armed as well?
00:00:49.120 And where will they find the qualified people to fill all those jobs?
00:00:54.600 There's something not right about what's going on in Washington.
00:00:58.920 Why is the Biden administration growing government, which is already too big?
00:01:04.380 Why are they hiring, when nearly all businesses are cutting back on hiring, and many laying people off?
00:01:11.740 Why more IRS agents, when we really need more people in our military?
00:01:16.880 The Army looks like it will miss its recruiting targets by 40% this year.
00:01:22.900 The Air Force had half as many applicants to the Air Force Academy this year.
00:01:28.100 Think about that.
00:01:29.360 Half as many.
00:01:30.840 It looks to me like young men and women who would otherwise want to serve their country won't be serving.
00:01:37.240 Because they're troubled by all of the Marxist indoctrination that is the hallmark of the new military under Joe Biden.
00:01:44.860 CRT, gender protocols, and leftist ideology.
00:01:49.120 The woke military pushing good people out, and bringing in people for whom standards of being lowered are dropped altogether.
00:01:58.620 For example, a Space Force unit commander, Captain Matthew Lohmeyer, fired recently for criticizing the military's widespread embrace of Marxist ideology.
00:02:10.280 Absolutely incredible.
00:02:11.700 None of the news about our military, it seems these days, is good.
00:02:16.920 And none of the news about our federal government is good.
00:02:20.600 And watching the FBI and DOJ continue to make a mockery of justice to continue their baseless attacks on Donald Trump is simply appalling.
00:02:30.660 Even the radical dims seem uncomfortable with the direction this puppet president is going.
00:02:37.540 There's even a rift of sorts between Pelosi and the mostly absent Joe Biden.
00:02:43.080 To take up all of this, our guest today is the great American, terrific journalist, and best-selling author of the outstanding books,
00:02:50.780 The Plot to Overthrow the President, and The Permanent Coup.
00:02:54.560 Lee Smith, great to have you back with us here on The Great America Show.
00:03:00.660 Lou, it is always a huge thrill and a pleasure to be with you.
00:03:04.160 Thank you for inviting me on today.
00:03:05.960 Well, we've got a whole bunch to talk about, not unlike every day that we talk.
00:03:12.500 Let's start with China and what is going on there.
00:03:15.680 I have to say this at the outset.
00:03:17.620 It looks to me like we've seen a very quiet coup, and Nancy Pelosi is now running the country.
00:03:25.860 What do you think?
00:03:27.720 Well, I have a little bit of, I wouldn't call it a controversial take, but it's a little different.
00:03:36.520 And it's this.
00:03:37.400 We don't know exactly what's going on.
00:03:39.940 We see different reports saying that the White House is very mad at Pelosi for going to Taiwan and formulating her own China policy.
00:03:49.340 Except I don't think that's what's really happening here.
00:03:53.700 I don't know if it was coordinated, but I know one thing.
00:03:56.660 If there was something to really be worried about with Pelosi's trip, we'd see the different people who have come out for the last five decades who promoted this relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.
00:04:12.580 Starting with Henry Kissinger, we'd see these people losing their minds on network TV and newspaper columns.
00:04:21.520 I mean, Kissinger hasn't said anything as far as I know.
00:04:24.560 What about Henry Paulson?
00:04:26.380 What about the different finance guys who have gotten billions from China?
00:04:31.400 Ray Dalio, Stephen Schwartzman, Larry Fink, all these people who have billions and billions tied up in China.
00:04:38.220 I think if there was really something to be worried about, that this was really a big problem, I think these guys would have been losing their minds.
00:04:47.020 And we hear them screaming from the rooftops the last couple of weeks.
00:04:51.740 So that's I mean, this is, you know, as I think I mentioned last time we were speaking, I'm working on a book about these, about the U.S. establishment, how it's betrayed our country to the Communist Party of China.
00:05:04.960 So I've been looking at these guys for a little while now and seeing how they message about China-U.S. relations.
00:05:12.440 And so that's what I'm thinking right now.
00:05:14.560 I think there's something else going on.
00:05:17.120 Well, I and, you know, I love your analysis.
00:05:20.200 And I think that there's every, every possibility that you're exactly right.
00:05:25.140 But I, I have a view as well.
00:05:29.280 And by the way, we and a lot of other people who are doing different analyses may be just as right as we are, but it doesn't make any of us wrong.
00:05:38.020 I really believe that what we are witnessing is the, if you will, the ebbing of the Biden administration.
00:05:45.640 And these are the reasons I say this, Lee, we haven't heard from Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lloyd Austin for two months now.
00:05:56.480 They arguably are in the basement with Joe Biden.
00:06:01.040 We are the bunker.
00:06:02.420 Yeah, and we are also watching Nancy Pelosi do something that, you know, it really defies imagination.
00:06:13.620 And imagination isn't something that this administration is long on.
00:06:17.760 I can't imagine that.
00:06:19.300 I love your analysis because I think it's exactly what should be happening.
00:06:23.300 But I think what really is happening is that she has stepped to the forefront because there is a tremendous vacuum.
00:06:31.860 The national security team is missing.
00:06:34.260 The president of the United States is missing.
00:06:37.080 He is missing when he's actually present.
00:06:39.360 So he's just more missing.
00:06:41.560 I just really believe that that's the situation and that for all practical purposes,
00:06:46.460 what we have seen and witnessed here over the past week is the Constitution and our founders genius at work.
00:06:53.780 The Speaker of the House is third in succession to the presidency.
00:06:57.240 And I believe that the facts are these, that Biden, impaired, can't be succeeded by Kamala Harris because she doesn't have any kind of knowledge base or acuity, leaving only Speaker Pelosi.
00:07:12.980 And without drama, fanfare, or great public notice, including, by the way, the left-wing corporate media, she is now setting foreign policy.
00:07:21.660 Lord knows what else she's doing. 1.00
00:07:24.400 Your thoughts?
00:07:25.520 Let me – I'm going to spin out something that some people may think is a conspiracy theory.
00:07:32.060 You may think it's a conspiracy theory.
00:07:34.320 But, again, it's stuff I've been looking at for a while.
00:07:38.460 And, look, the big thing that the big supporters of China and this country want – and we see this in the press all the time.
00:07:46.740 They're either on TV talking about it or they're writing columns.
00:07:50.100 The big thing they want is they want the tariffs.
00:07:53.620 They want Trump tariffs imposed on China.
00:07:57.060 They want them dropped.
00:07:58.340 Why?
00:07:58.800 Because the Chinese want them dropped. 1.00
00:08:00.900 Wherever we go, when they're talking about tariffs, this is the main Chinese interest regarding the United States now.
00:08:09.100 We saw that how the Chinese canceled these talks on climate change and narcotic interdiction.
00:08:15.400 The Chinese are sending fentanyl here. 1.00
00:08:17.320 The Chinese don't care about that. 1.00
00:08:19.420 The Chinese don't care about climate change. 1.00
00:08:21.720 They don't care about any of these things.
00:08:23.820 There's one big thing they want.
00:08:25.760 They want tariffs dropped.
00:08:27.100 The problem for Joe Biden, as different people, former Trump administration officials have told me, the reason that it's going to be tough for Biden to drop those tariffs is because of Hunter Biden.
00:08:42.040 Hunter Biden, of course, is in China's pocket. 0.78
00:08:46.620 Now, the more and more information we see from Hunter's laptop, we're coming to get a clearer idea of how much China controls him as well, unfortunately, tragically for our country, the president as well.
00:09:02.780 So I think it's possible.
00:09:06.020 Again, I'm just spinning out a theory here.
00:09:08.500 I'm not going to call it a conspiracy theory, but I'm spinning out an idea.
00:09:12.160 How does Joe Biden, how does the White House get these tariffs dropped without causing too much fuss about Hunter Biden?
00:09:22.440 Right.
00:09:22.620 Because it's a political risk, as Trump officials tell me, and it certainly looks like it.
00:09:28.300 So how do they how do they spin this out?
00:09:30.660 Well, maybe they do it by ramping up all this anxiety and figure out a way how to make things easier for China.
00:09:38.300 Hey, we all want to avoid war, don't we?
00:09:40.640 Well, here's one.
00:09:41.540 Here's one incentive we give the Chinese for not making war, for not going war and for not going to war and not invading Taiwan.
00:09:48.000 We're going to drop these tariffs.
00:09:49.920 And besides, it's good for inflation anyway.
00:09:52.240 That's the argument they were making two months ago, right?
00:09:54.820 Well, we're going to drop these tariffs and you'll see how much this is going to help inflation.
00:09:59.020 So I wouldn't be surprised if this is tied to tariffs.
00:10:02.580 We'll see over the next couple of weeks what happens.
00:10:05.460 But again, that's a theory, because what tells me, again, I just find it impossible that none of the none of the creeps in the China class from Paulson and Kissinger.
00:10:16.860 Here to Schwarzman and Dalio, all these people, none of them have said a thing.
00:10:22.120 Yeah, I think that that's an interesting point.
00:10:24.780 I think one area that mitigates or muddies the argument is this.
00:10:31.760 That is, there is no sign whatsoever that any of these people, and by the way, I don't hesitate to call it what it is.
00:10:39.300 A conspiracy theory is a theory.
00:10:43.320 I think it's reality.
00:10:44.340 We are witnessing the President of the United States draw 180 million barrels of oil out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, ostensibly, so he claimed, to lower gas prices for American consumers.
00:11:00.840 Yet, a million barrels of that oil going to a subsidiary of the principal oil company in China, one million barrels, and it just happens to be the company that Hunter Biden was consulting.
00:11:16.480 That can only be done with the signature, the knowledge, and the imprimatur of the White House and the President on it.
00:11:26.020 A million barrels.
00:11:27.920 And the national media doesn't say a word.
00:11:30.440 The Republican Party, for crying out loud, doesn't say a word.
00:11:34.640 This is in-your-face corruption.
00:11:36.480 And it is, they're not worried about optics, because they know that there are no prying eyes that will see what they're doing.
00:11:45.460 James, James Biden, Hunter Biden, Joe Biden.
00:11:48.960 We're talking about the typical crime family.
00:11:54.180 And they have been absolutely, without shame, without even a moment's hesitation, corrupt to the core.
00:12:03.740 I agree.
00:12:05.960 And it's not just them.
00:12:08.300 The way that I've understood it, the way that I've come to understand it is, the Democrats, look, the Republicans are no winners on this, especially these guys obeying just the Chamber of Commerce marching band.
00:12:23.600 But the Democrats are structurally pro-China.
00:12:26.300 They can't run national elections without money coming from big tech, Wall Street, Hollywood, and the Academy.
00:12:35.820 And all of those industries depend on a cash flow from the Chinese Communist Party.
00:12:43.360 So when I see people get concerned, like, oh, boy, we don't want war with China.
00:12:46.940 Oh, boy, we've got to stay away from war with China.
00:12:49.040 This looks like war with China.
00:12:50.460 My question is, who in the Democratic Party is going to go to their donors on Wall Street or big tech and say, guys, we're going to war against the Chinese Communist Party.
00:13:03.820 There's no way it's going to happen.
00:13:06.160 These people are all owned by China. 0.98
00:13:08.900 The people who are owned by China are not going to make war against Beijing.
00:13:13.780 There is a, if you will, a parallel possibility here that recognizes the fact that the money that these, you mentioned Schwarzman, Dalio, I think all of the big boys on Wall Street who were playing China games, the reality is that their money isn't in China.
00:13:37.680 It isn't tied up in China.
00:13:39.760 It's investors' money that's tied up in China.
00:13:42.780 Their money has been brought back here and put into accounts and instruments and securities of all kinds.
00:13:51.840 And their fortune is a mound that rises in America and Europe and is basically not even present, except for the pittances they leave in China to amuse the Chinese. 1.00
00:14:05.980 This is a corrupt Wall Street at work here.
00:14:09.340 Oh, it's amazing what they've done. 0.94
00:14:11.460 Isn't it sick?
00:14:12.260 It is.
00:14:12.660 What they've done to American investors. 0.99
00:14:17.480 I mean, they know that China is a clown show. 1.00
00:14:21.220 And they've taken the money, like pension funds. 0.97
00:14:24.200 I mean, all these different things.
00:14:25.980 It's insanely shameful. 0.98
00:14:28.200 This 50-year relationship with China is so disgusting, Lou. 0.99
00:14:31.760 I can't believe it. 0.88
00:14:32.880 Just thinking about it and writing all this stuff out.
00:14:35.200 When you put it all together, it is a tragic era in our history.
00:14:39.640 It truly is.
00:14:40.640 It truly is.
00:14:41.380 And the error is on all of us who did not want to recognize what we could see.
00:14:47.900 I mean, it goes back to Hillary Clinton.
00:14:50.320 20% of U.S.
00:14:52.040 Uranium reserves?
00:14:53.060 Really?
00:14:53.860 We sell to Russia? 0.88
00:14:54.900 While the Clinton Foundation is raking in hundreds of millions of dollars?
00:15:00.900 It's a straightforward quid pro quo.
00:15:04.340 It's the most outrageous scam, and it's so transparent.
00:15:09.660 And the press refused to call her out on it.
00:15:13.600 Here, the Clinton Foundation is a drop box.
00:15:16.260 That's where foreign governments were sending checks to get favors from the Secretary of State,
00:15:21.260 and no one ever called her out.
00:15:22.340 It was so obvious and so transparent.
00:15:24.460 It's incredible.
00:15:26.400 And for Henry Kissinger, the great shame is that he was one of the authors of the opening of China.
00:15:37.340 This is his baby, as you pointed out.
00:15:39.460 He is one of those people who would be screaming.
00:15:42.100 But it's too late.
00:15:45.480 The Chinese experiment with the CCP is over. 0.60
00:15:50.500 Xi Jinping is the result.
00:15:53.340 And he is a totalitarian dictator, and that will be further enunciated vividly this fall
00:16:02.580 when he has basically handed the title of dictator for life.
00:16:07.060 And it's just we have to be wary of a couple of things, I think, here.
00:16:12.940 One is that we have a government that doesn't know what the hell they're doing.
00:16:16.500 Our intelligence agencies are spending more time on domestic U.S. politics than they are on geopolitics,
00:16:24.060 and with high levels of knowledge about each region and each enemy and adversary of this country. 0.82
00:16:32.740 It is, to me, spectacularly stunning to think that these clowns and creeps, and I love the words, 0.97
00:16:41.580 who signed this fool of a letter that was used as a shield for Joe Biden in 2020 in the last debate, 0.99
00:16:51.500 they are all incompetence. 0.98
00:16:55.220 They all should be, in my opinion, they are guilty of conspiring against the United States of America,
00:17:03.900 and I think should be able to account.
00:17:06.460 Well, absolutely.
00:17:07.680 I mean, I absolutely agree.
00:17:09.800 You know, I wrote an article about that last week, about that for Tablet Magazine,
00:17:14.400 because we're getting more information off of Hunter Biden's laptop,
00:17:17.920 and now we see the extent, you know, how bad that lie was, you know,
00:17:25.220 obscuring the Biden's corruption with foreign businesses,
00:17:30.220 with corrupt officials from foreign governments, including China and Russia and Ukraine.
00:17:37.040 It's shocking, and these guys saw it all along, right,
00:17:41.040 because that's their job, to follow, to know what foreign intelligence services know about American officials.
00:17:49.940 That's part of their counterintelligence mission.
00:17:52.640 They knew exactly what Hunter Biden was up to in Ukraine and China.
00:17:56.540 They knew what Joe Biden was up to as well,
00:17:58.840 but instead they come out with this obscene letter a month before the election,
00:18:03.380 and anyone who questioned the veracity of it was, you know,
00:18:07.780 was called a tool for Russian disinformation.
00:18:11.400 They went after Senator Ron Johnson.
00:18:13.200 They went after Senator Chuck Grassley.
00:18:15.360 It's just shameful what these people do.
00:18:17.900 How do they wind up hating this great country so much?
00:18:21.360 Why do they turn against this country?
00:18:23.600 Why do they turn against the great citizens of America? 1.00
00:18:26.160 Just garbage people. 1.00
00:18:28.220 They're just awful. 1.00
00:18:29.260 These people are the lowest life forms, in my judgment, in America. 0.97
00:18:34.980 Each one entitled, privileged, and, in fact, the beneficiaries,
00:18:41.120 some of the greatest beneficiaries of this great American society of ours and our way of life,
00:18:46.440 our system of government, and our capitalist economy.
00:18:51.200 And shame on them.
00:18:53.080 When I say they're lower than snake bellies, I mean exactly that.
00:18:56.400 And I'm talking about Brennan, I'm talking about Hayden, I'm talking about every one of them. 1.00
00:19:01.840 They're egg-sucking cowards, and I would say it to their faces, I just, I revile them. 1.00
00:19:09.920 They are just horrible, horrible people who've done this country such an injury that I don't know how long it's going to take us to recover. 0.99
00:19:19.220 Well, I mean, it tells you how, in some ways, it tells you how fortunate we've been.
00:19:25.380 And our strength comes from the American people.
00:19:28.300 As it turns out, we weren't really protected by these people.
00:19:32.480 We're not really protected by people like Mark Milley or Lloyd Austin or John Brennan or Michael Hayden, right?
00:19:40.060 It's the strength of the American people that keeps the country strong because these guys are all out looking to play angles for themselves.
00:19:50.280 It's just incredible.
00:19:51.400 They have used the resources of the American government paid for by U.S. taxpayers to enrich themselves and to target American citizens.
00:20:01.440 I mean, you and I talk about January 6th a lot, but if you look at that, that appears to be their mission now, to go after Americans. 0.94
00:20:10.080 Yeah, forget terrorists, forget organized crime, and forget real hostile foreign actors like the Chinese Communist Party. 0.72
00:20:18.760 No, we're going to go after Americans. 0.97
00:20:20.320 We're going to go after the America First crowd. 0.94
00:20:22.340 How's that?
00:20:23.480 Yeah.
00:20:23.960 And they did just that.
00:20:24.920 They shut down their what was to be a massive task force and surveillance network and prosecutorial apparatus against Chinese spies in this country who are lifting a half a half a trillion dollars of intellectual property from the United States every single year.
00:20:48.840 Think about that every year. 0.87
00:20:50.980 Intellectual property, meaning technology, meaning our advanced technology, and to even think about this fool of a president, and I should be kinder than that because he is impaired through no fault of his own. 0.87
00:21:09.660 Well, some fault, I assume, but those around him and the Democrat, the Marxist Democrat Party that has taken advantage and exploited this man for their purposes, 0.68
00:21:19.220 it's shameful, it's shameful, it is disgusting, and it's the level of politics in this country because the Republicans are doing no better when they don't hold the Democrats to account.
00:21:31.660 They're afraid of them.
00:21:33.260 They truly are.
00:21:34.880 And you can see them now trying to wait it out and not say a word about Hunter Biden, a word about Joe Biden or his crime family,
00:21:46.280 because they just don't want anything to jar the results that they think will be the outcome in November.
00:21:55.420 That's how I see it, too.
00:21:57.140 They don't want to stick their heads up because they just want to lay low and say, hey, let Joe Biden run the country into the ground.
00:22:04.700 Then voters will have no choice but to vote for us come November.
00:22:08.420 Instead, Joe Biden is running the country into the ground and bad things are happening.
00:22:14.400 And the instrument that the America First movement has right now, the political instrument we have, is the Republican Party.
00:22:23.480 And they're not doing anything because they're scared of what?
00:22:26.840 They're scared of being called racist or they're scared of being called this or that.
00:22:30.160 Can you imagine being an adult and being worried about the New York Times has to say about you?
00:22:35.480 And that's what these guys are scared of.
00:22:37.300 Like which of their constituents are looking stuff up in the New York Times?
00:22:42.100 Well, I don't know.
00:22:42.780 What did they say about my congressman?
00:22:44.460 What did the New York Times say?
00:22:46.020 Gee, I wonder what Maggie Haberman has to say about my congressman.
00:22:49.360 It's just incredible.
00:22:50.600 The priorities of these people, what they think is most important.
00:22:54.640 It's just amazing.
00:22:55.740 But in spite of that, you know, there's been good news coming out of the primaries.
00:23:02.280 There are some serious people who really seem to put the priorities of the American public first.
00:23:11.780 Yeah, and we saw that with great clarity in Arizona.
00:23:17.120 I was sweating bullets over Carrie Lake because she's going to be running against her opponent will be the woman who runs the elections in Arizona. 1.00
00:23:25.740 I mean, that's that's close work.
00:23:29.340 Anything that raises probabilities for, you know, skunk like efforts.
00:23:34.860 And they tried in a few places.
00:23:37.060 It's clear, but it didn't work.
00:23:38.580 And as a result, the top America first candidates, Masters and Hamada and Lake, all won.
00:23:49.540 And that I tell you, I feel so good about that group of three in Arizona.
00:23:54.040 I can't I can't express it.
00:23:55.740 Yeah, yeah, I agree.
00:23:57.020 So so as bad as many things are, there's always it's always bad to bet against the United States and the American people.
00:24:08.340 Well, I'm I'm never going to to me, I take your point, Lee, and I and you're exactly right.
00:24:15.420 But I am also one who knows that the American people have been have had their noses rubbed in it for at least the past 20, 30 years.
00:24:25.800 The American people have come up on the short end of this stick badly.
00:24:30.240 Our middle class has been has just been battered and we have a smaller middle class than we did 30 years ago.
00:24:38.200 We have less opportunity for the American dream than we did 30 years ago.
00:24:43.580 And that is because of these malfactors, these these vicious, greedy and indifferent officials that we have put into government.
00:24:55.620 The deep state is filled with immoral and amoral actors who are to most of us who care about this country and our fellow citizens.
00:25:06.640 They're inexplicable.
00:25:07.900 But yet there they are.
00:25:09.880 And we have just we've ignored them for far too long and we need to act to make certain they are held to account.
00:25:17.720 I think I think we I think we can explain them.
00:25:21.420 And my my explanation might sound might sound childish, but but I'm going to go with it anyway.
00:25:28.220 And that is right.
00:25:29.400 There's all sorts of, you know, political and financial reasons that these guys do stuff like that.
00:25:34.900 But but but but I I really I think it's about a spiritual failing.
00:25:40.160 Right.
00:25:40.780 It's something that, you know, it's not just in the United States, but we see throughout the world that the United States, however, was set up and it was organized so that people would people would benefit from doing the right would benefit from doing the right thing.
00:25:55.840 There was you weren't being punished for respecting your neighbors or for doing well.
00:26:02.300 All right. We visit countries around the world and we see that when someone has success, his neighbors, his neighbors envy him.
00:26:09.080 Right. This is the reason for all sorts of trinkets against the evil eye to ward off envy.
00:26:15.680 But that's not the way the United States was set up.
00:26:17.960 The United States was organized so that all people can do well.
00:26:21.620 There's not just one pot of gold at the end at the end of the rainbow with one key.
00:26:26.580 And if you have the key, Lou, that means I have no access to the pot of gold.
00:26:30.500 No, America was set up so that everyone can do it with hard work, persistence, determination. 0.68
00:26:36.500 And these people, the people you're talking about, the actors in the deep state, these are twisted, corrupt people.
00:26:43.720 So it's partly about politics. It's partly about finance.
00:26:47.320 But it's also it's a spiritual it's a spiritual issue as well.
00:26:53.700 It's a spiritual problem.
00:26:55.060 And I think the more and more that we as Americans can understand what our struggle is really about, when we look at things like CRT, critical race theory, when we look at January 6th, when we look at this, this these obscene attacks on school children.
00:27:10.840 Right. When they're promoting the trans identity stuff. 0.98
00:27:15.180 This is a spiritual struggle that we're engaged in.
00:27:18.620 And we Americans have have fought these battles so often.
00:27:22.580 And it's upon us once again, you know, as I take your analysis, with which I agree.
00:27:28.120 Then the question is, what do we do about the two primary teachers unions that are pushing and peddling all of this vicious, evil nonsense and perversion on our children?
00:27:45.440 Right. And what do we do about parents who are intimidated by a Justice Department and an attorney general who declared them to be domestic terrorists because they pound a table in a school board meeting and say, no more of this crap? 0.99
00:27:58.600 We will not stand for it with our children. 0.99
00:28:02.060 What do they do?
00:28:03.120 They're still fighting.
00:28:04.160 They're still fighting.
00:28:05.540 They label them domestic terrorists.
00:28:07.900 And and and nonetheless, the parents are still out there fighting.
00:28:11.080 Look at what happened in Virginia.
00:28:12.680 Right.
00:28:13.120 They elect Glenn Youngkin.
00:28:15.160 They elect him governor because here's a guy who says, yeah, I think to see I think this stuff is bad.
00:28:20.520 You know, I think both you and I would agree that Glenn Youngkin is is not the model America first figure.
00:28:28.180 Right. He's kind of an establishment figure.
00:28:30.100 But nonetheless, he sees he sees that American parents, the parents don't like this, that they're going crazy.
00:28:36.660 And rightly says, you know what, this looks like a cause that will get me some votes and it's a decent cause.
00:28:44.120 So but the important thing is that fight is coming from the American people.
00:28:48.280 So even even when these these animals at the Justice Department and the FBI go after them, they're still fighting.
00:28:56.540 Oh, I forgot one thing I wanted to one thing I wanted to remember to talk about regarding the FBI.
00:29:03.560 Did you see last week how Senator Grassley wrote a letter to Christopher Wray?
00:29:10.140 Oh, yes.
00:29:10.860 Yeah. Saying I have information from whistleblowers that that you guys buried Hunter Biden's laptop and you stopped your criminal investigation of Hunter Biden.
00:29:24.780 Now, I'm not saying I'm not going to turn this around too much and say, well, see, there are all these, you know, really good people at the FBI.
00:29:33.680 No, what that shows is it shows there are cracks because the because the progressive faction, the Biden Obama faction, believes that the FBI will be their praetorian guard.
00:29:47.020 Right. Whether it's spying on parents, whether it's breaking down the doors of opposition journalists like James O'Keefe.
00:29:52.760 They believe that's the praetorian guard and they can get it to do whatever they want.
00:29:57.060 It can put Peter Navarro in shackles.
00:29:59.300 It can it can point can point guns at Roger Stone and call CNN.
00:30:05.420 No, there are people there who are watching what they're doing.
00:30:09.100 There are cracks and fractures in the institutions that they're depending on to go after us.
00:30:15.380 And so I take that, given the situation that we're in right now, I take that as good news.
00:30:20.700 I whatever makes them weaker makes us stronger.
00:30:25.280 I concur 100 percent.
00:30:26.600 And I want to give great credit to Congressman Chip Roy, to Congressman Troy Nels and others who are moving, introducing a bill that would create oversight over the entire federal workforce and strip, strip away the, if you will, the protections for mediocrity and failure to perform in their jobs.
00:30:54.340 This would be, I think, an immense help to the country, to the government, to every irrespective of party.
00:31:02.220 And I hope that we can see that push through if and when the Republicans win in November.
00:31:09.260 I would like to think that Republicans right now, especially the America First candidates and the people who are sitting right now in the House of Representatives, especially though some senators as well, are gathering evidence on all sorts of things, including January 6th.
00:31:28.320 We know that they've advised the January 6th committee not to lose any records.
00:31:33.000 We'll see how that works out.
00:31:34.160 But I hope that they're gathering their own evidence for a whole bunch of investigations.
00:31:39.040 Look, it's going to be hard.
00:31:40.500 The DOJ is under Biden's control.
00:31:43.000 So the idea of getting criminal referrals is highly unlikely.
00:31:46.640 However, they need to gather evidence.
00:31:48.320 They need to start investigating and they need to show some nerve and start putting this information out there before the American people.
00:31:56.180 And they I'm not asking for them to lead.
00:31:58.580 I'm asking for them to follow the American people, because that's where the American public is right now.
00:32:04.980 They're furious.
00:32:06.200 They're outraged.
00:32:07.160 And it's time for our elected officials to recognize that and represent that publicly and say, hey, we hear you, just like Glenn Youngkin did regarding the CRT stuff and other sick stuff that's going on in public education.
00:32:21.660 Elected officials stand aside.
00:32:24.320 Watch how we do it.
00:32:25.400 Now follow us.
00:32:27.060 Yeah, we have, you know, in talking about governors, we have to give a number of governors, I think, some considerable credit, particularly.
00:32:35.680 I think Ron DeSantis in Florida.
00:32:37.840 I know he's considered a rival to President Trump.
00:32:42.220 Personally, I don't think he's in any way lacking sufficient intelligence to do that.
00:32:48.100 I don't think he'll be running against him.
00:32:49.880 But what I do want to commend is his his America first policies that he is enacting almost daily.
00:32:57.100 I think he is an administration that is a model for every governor in the United States.
00:33:07.020 And this man is going to emerge as a very, very tall figure standing high in the years to come because of what he is doing for the people of Florida, for decency, for justice, for truth, and for the American way.
00:33:24.840 I mean, I love what he is doing.
00:33:26.800 What do you think?
00:33:27.700 Me, too.
00:33:28.380 I don't see him as a rival.
00:33:29.940 I mean, again, the politics will work itself out over the next couple of years.
00:33:33.780 Right now, I see him as another champion.
00:33:36.600 Right.
00:33:37.040 And the more champions we have, the better.
00:33:39.380 The more people stand up and say, yeah, yeah, we're in the fight.
00:33:43.140 We're doing it, you know, alongside Donald Trump.
00:33:46.140 Donald Trump inspired a lot of people to stand up and do it.
00:33:49.160 But, again, it comes from the American people.
00:33:52.200 What do they want?
00:33:53.020 What are they saying?
00:33:53.820 OK, I'm going to go out and represent that.
00:33:55.700 First of all, it'll get me votes.
00:33:57.340 It will keep me in office.
00:33:58.980 And also, it's the right thing to do.
00:34:01.020 You look at DeSantis.
00:34:02.020 He obviously believes it's the right thing to do.
00:34:04.180 And he enjoys it.
00:34:06.280 DeSantis is great.
00:34:07.500 This is a guy.
00:34:08.100 One of the things that I like best about DeSantis is that he went to Yale.
00:34:13.020 He went to law school at Harvard, so he knows who all the elites are.
00:34:21.040 He's seen them from the inside. 0.98
00:34:23.660 He knows they're miserable creeps. 1.00
00:34:26.180 They're soulless animals. 0.99
00:34:29.300 So he gets up there.
00:34:30.000 He doesn't care what the New York Times says about him.
00:34:32.220 He just gets up there and he says, you're wrong.
00:34:35.140 And the people that I represent are right.
00:34:37.340 And here's how we're going to do it.
00:34:38.640 Here's how we're going to handle everything from COVID to public education.
00:34:43.020 Oh, yeah, he's great.
00:34:44.480 The more people that stand up like that, the better.
00:34:48.200 Not rivals, but a legion of champions.
00:34:52.940 Yeah, I like that.
00:34:54.280 And he is certainly one of them.
00:34:57.540 And Greg Abbott in Texas, trying to do the right thing, doing the right thing.
00:35:02.880 Some will argue he was too slow to act on some of his rhetoric.
00:35:07.140 But I credit him for what he is doing now.
00:35:10.160 And what he's doing is leading in the state of Texas.
00:35:12.720 Ken Paxton, Attorney General.
00:35:15.040 I mean, there are so many of these, as you put it, champions at work.
00:35:20.180 Jeff Landry in Louisiana.
00:35:22.380 And as you go through this list, it's just a great group of Americans who deserve our support.
00:35:29.640 And I think will make all the difference in what transpires on November 8th of this year and for years to come.
00:35:38.160 I've got my fingers crossed and I'm praying.
00:35:40.820 We always give our guests the last word, Lee.
00:35:44.300 And if you will, your concluding thoughts.
00:35:47.820 All right.
00:35:48.280 Two things.
00:35:49.040 First of all, I just have to add, since I'm now a native son of the state of South Carolina, I mean, we have a good governor, Governor McMaster.
00:35:58.300 But our Attorney General, Alan Wilson, he's great.
00:36:00.960 He's terrific.
00:36:01.440 So I just want to add him to that list.
00:36:03.820 He's out there fighting.
00:36:05.060 The other thing is, so Lou, I've been dying to tell you this for a while.
00:36:10.660 But when I came out with my book, The Plot Against the President, there was a lot of media involved.
00:36:15.720 And so I would, you know, get on TV and they always tell you, they say, well, you've got to make your point.
00:36:20.320 This is the most important two and a half minutes you're ever going to spend.
00:36:23.320 So get out there and make your point.
00:36:25.020 And, you know, you get all tangled up in your thoughts and you get all tangled up in, you know, in what you want to say.
00:36:31.100 Your tongue is twisted.
00:36:33.320 And then when I was invited to your show, I was watching in the green room.
00:36:40.020 I'm just like, this is an entirely different experience.
00:36:43.200 You were so cool.
00:36:45.600 It was like watching, you know, watching someone play jazz.
00:36:49.660 And I'm just thinking, I just have to keep the rhythm with Lou.
00:36:53.640 Just play nice and easy.
00:36:55.620 Speak slowly.
00:36:56.680 It was so great.
00:36:57.740 It was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life.
00:37:02.820 Just like sitting there with you at the desk and just saying, I'll just follow Lou's lead, whatever pace he goes at.
00:37:09.960 This will be great.
00:37:10.720 So it was so much fun and it is always such a huge pleasure to speak with you.
00:37:15.320 Well, that is, that's wonderful.
00:37:17.480 We won't talk about how long ago that was, but it's been a while.
00:37:22.720 And I can tell you this, no one has ever accused me of being a, being, what would I say, in beat with jazz or being that creative.
00:37:37.000 So I appreciate that.
00:37:38.480 Oh, no, just, it was so, it was so cool.
00:37:41.880 The rhythm was so great.
00:37:43.460 And it's like, right, slow down, speak, listen and speak.
00:37:49.160 And just do it like that instead of, you know, because everywhere else you go like, okay, got to get my ideas out.
00:37:53.920 Got to sell my book.
00:37:54.560 Got to do this.
00:37:55.040 Got to do that.
00:37:55.940 Right.
00:37:56.240 And they call you beforehand and they prep you before the show.
00:37:58.880 You got to do this.
00:37:59.360 You got to do that.
00:37:59.680 Like, well, I'm losing my mind here.
00:38:02.180 But with you, it's just, let's have a conversation.
00:38:05.460 Let's just talk.
00:38:06.640 God, it's so great.
00:38:08.220 I love speaking with you so much.
00:38:10.640 Well, you're so, you're so very kind.
00:38:12.200 And I, and I am very touched.
00:38:14.160 Thank you for that, Lee.
00:38:15.080 And one of the things I love about doing the Great America Show is I don't have a four-minute window in which to get a man or woman's ideas communicated to the audience.
00:38:25.920 We have time to talk and we have time to think and reason and react and, you know, actually, actually have, as you say, a conversation.
00:38:35.720 Those are the best shows.
00:38:36.940 And you always make the best shows.
00:38:41.520 So we appreciate it, Lee.
00:38:42.820 Thank you so much, Lee.
00:38:43.880 And you're doing a lot to make this the best country.
00:38:46.780 We appreciate it.
00:38:48.140 Lee Smith, thanks so much.
00:38:49.840 A great American.
00:38:50.760 God bless you.
00:38:52.260 Thank you, Lee.
00:38:53.940 Thanks, everybody, for being with us today.
00:38:56.300 Here on Monday, Labor Day, our guest will be Congressman Scott Perry.
00:39:02.040 Perry is a retired Army brigadier general as well as U.S. congressman and the very same congressman whose phone was taken by FBI agents,
00:39:11.320 apparently for the sole reason that he's a supporter of President Donald Trump.
00:39:16.740 We'll be taking up all that's happened to him and his family and this country.
00:39:22.400 Please join us Monday, Labor Day, for our conversation with Congressman Perry.
00:39:27.780 Thanks.
00:39:28.480 Until then, God bless you.
00:39:30.780 And may God bless America.
00:39:32.960 We'll be right back.
