Trump attorney Alina Haber joins us to discuss the latest in the Trump Indictment and her thoughts on it. President Trump is showing no signs of wavering in his support for his campaign and has raised over $6 million for it since last Friday.
00:02:04.380You know, there were a little bit of delays, so it went a little longer than we had thought it would.
00:02:09.600But, you know, it's very procedural, obviously, logistically.
00:02:13.760As far as the actual arraignment in itself, I think, is insanity.
00:02:19.720I think that the indictment's insanity and ridiculous.
00:02:24.180And, you know, I could get into all the Presidential Records Act and everything else that everybody, I'm sure, has been hearing about for the last 24 hours.
00:02:31.560But it's a joke, and it's very one-sided.
00:02:34.580It is a joke, and as some of the country's very best attorneys and scholars have been explaining to my audience, the fact is the Presidential Records Act is the premise of the charges brought by this Marxist, dim activist, Jack Smith.
00:02:54.420But do you have a sense of what that will mean in terms of the proceedings?
00:03:10.980I think that it's – an outrage is a great way of saying it.
00:03:16.260It's a dual system of justice, and everybody knows it.
00:03:19.400And, you know, a lot of times I have to go out and explain to the public with some of these witch hunts, as he calls them, what exactly is going on.
00:03:28.300And with this one, Lou, I just have not had to do that.
00:03:35.360It's documents that he was allowed to take.
00:03:39.200It's documents that he could only declassify summarily as the president.
00:03:45.000And then they brought a case very quickly with a grand jury in Washington and moved it down to Florida so that there was no venue issues but showed – had a grand jury up in Washington, so they got a Washington grand jury.
00:03:59.860I mean, when you get into the real nitty-gritty of it, it's obviously a little bit more complicated, but the American people just get it.
00:04:23.260And most – and all of the public opinion polling I've seen supports the president, supports him to the point that if he were to be convicted of something, they believe that he should be able to be president of the United States, irrespective.
00:04:38.840And I can't even imagine, imagine this thing going beyond, frankly, ever going to trial.
00:04:46.620It should be thrown out by any judge, even these rotten-to-the-core, corrupt, left-wing activist judges.
00:04:55.140On its face, this is appalling and a horrible indictment.
00:12:12.460Everybody has a right to have competent, intelligent counsel.
00:12:18.520And we're doing our jobs, you know, and to attack people for supporting someone in their profession and doing their job is just disgraceful.
00:12:36.280I think, I'm just guessing, but I would think that the legal profession would lose more than half the attorneys in the country if that were the standard by which you could expunge them.
00:12:48.260It is, I mean, I'm watching big law firms under the grip of this orthodoxy, if you will, on the left.
00:13:00.840They will get rid of a partner in an instant if he has or she has any kind of inkling to support Donald Trump or to support or to represent a client who is supporting President Trump.
00:14:00.620But if I wouldn't want to work for them, you know, I've owned my own firm for almost 15 years, 10 years, 15 years, whatever it is, too long.
00:14:09.280And I can just tell you that it's been the best blessing because I make those decisions and what's best and what principles I believe in for this country.
00:14:16.420And I urge attorneys to really think about that, because if that's the kind of place you're working, what else are they controlling?
00:14:21.620Well, one of the concerns is the judiciary itself.
00:14:27.940The word is that Judge Cannon is under tremendous pressure to recuse herself, a Trump-appointed judge.
00:14:36.220It will be, obviously, it'll be her trial.
00:14:41.780That kind of pressure being put on a judge, shouldn't there be something in the canon of ethics that would prescribe that?
00:15:31.280And I've been on the other side of it.
00:15:32.820And I feel for Judge Cannon and I feel for anybody who's being targeted because of who they represent or what their morals are and standing by them.
00:15:43.820She has to feel pretty good about the fact that every, every, I shouldn't say every, but nearly all that I've spoken with and nearly all that I've read, legal experts have said that Judge Cannon made the right decision.
00:16:00.860And the 11th Circuit Court was absolutely out of its mind.
00:16:49.020How can the special counsel, Jack Smith, who has, at best, a checkered background as a prosecutor, how can he keep the names of his special counsel staff and attorneys secret from the American people?
