00:01:18.340
Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs and welcome to The Great America Show. It's great to have you with us.
00:01:23.320
The primary and caucus season officially kicking off. President Trump winning the Iowa caucus last
00:01:28.540
night despite record low temperatures and low turnout. Trump very handily beating Ron DeSantis,
00:01:35.460
Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy. It's safe to say an extra cold night for all those who finished second,
00:01:41.420
third and fourth. And President Trump now heading into the New Hampshire primary with full steam ahead.
00:01:47.340
The latest New Hampshire primary polling, by the way, has the president leading Haley by as much
00:01:52.040
as 20 points. The reality of it all that President Trump could soon be returned to the White House,
00:01:57.980
setting in for the Marxist Dems, NBC News reporting, in fact, that fears are rising in the Pentagon.
00:02:05.560
They're worried about him being president. You remember how General Milley used to walk around
00:02:10.140
just sweating, driven by anxiety about the president of the United States? Well,
00:02:15.220
that's happening again, at least amongst some in the Pentagon, worried that Trump will be elected
00:02:20.060
and use the military in, quote, dictatorial ways when he gets back to the White House.
00:02:25.160
Of course, that's exactly what Joe Biden has been doing for three years, leading by executive
00:02:30.960
actions and executive orders and just simply ignoring Congress, doing whatever he wanted,
00:02:36.980
throwing the borders wide open, not defending our sovereignty or our nation.
00:02:41.480
It's extraordinary what these characters on the left are doing.
00:02:46.160
After Biden throws the border wide open and brings in an estimated 10 million illegals and
00:02:51.220
turns the border over to the cartels, suddenly the folks over in the Pentagon are worried
00:02:59.140
Throwing conservatives and patriots in prison and not even charging BLM, Antifa or any Marxist leftist.
00:03:05.840
Biden, of course, is the essential puppet dictator. And now the Marxist Dems and Marxist non-profit
00:03:11.900
organizations coming together to try to change the leadership structure of our military.
00:03:17.220
No more civilian control if Donald Trump is elected. That's actually going on right now.
00:03:23.780
How's that for absolute deep state control? What's next? A totalitarian government? Well,
00:03:29.100
that's certainly what'll happen if Joe Biden returns to the White House.
00:03:32.820
The Marxist Dems, who time and time again use government agencies against their political
00:03:37.940
opponents, then the Marxist Dems deploy their disinformation and misinformation propaganda
00:03:43.220
against the American people. It's constant. It's daily, almost hourly. Even some Marxist
00:03:49.160
Dem mayors and governors have finally had enough of the illegal immigrants who Joe Biden is bringing
00:03:54.840
in with the help, of course, of the cartels who control that southern border. They're being sent to
00:04:00.060
cities all across the country. And some of those cities, the sanctuary cities, they're being overrun,
00:04:05.660
they say. Instead of welcoming the illegals, well, in fact, they're now saying they can't handle
00:04:12.560
anymore. And Chicago Governor J.B. Pritzker, in fact, begging Governor Greg Abbott of Texas for mercy.
00:04:20.760
Please, he says, stop sending those illegal immigrants to Chicago. You wonder why he isn't
00:04:26.340
talking to, well, Joe Biden? Here's Pritzker. Not enough has been done. There's no doubt about
00:04:31.880
that. And I think that the president needs to do more. The Congress needs to do more cities out here
00:04:37.060
that are the target of this political game that Governor Abbott is playing are suffering. And here
00:04:44.120
in Illinois, it's minus 29 degrees outside with the windchill. We have migrants that arrive from Texas
00:04:52.460
virtually every day, hundreds. And we don't have places to put them. We don't have enough shelter
00:04:59.820
space here. There are plenty of other cities where, you know, if he's going to send people,
00:05:04.000
they could be sent. But no, he's choosing only Democratic states, Democratic cities.
00:05:08.440
So what happened, Governor? Did you lose the White House phone number? It's Biden you need to talk to.
00:05:13.940
Really, it's Barack Obama, too. They're the ones calling for the illegal immigrants to come in by
00:05:18.660
the millions, and they're getting it done. And I'm sorry about your sanctuary cities getting overrun,
00:05:24.200
but that's what they are after all, right? Sanctuaries. Embattled Marxist-Fulton County DA
00:05:30.220
Fannie Willis in church this weekend. She was there to give a speech. She took the time to let
00:05:35.100
everybody know she's not perfect, but the Republicans are racist for going after her.
00:05:40.300
We are at a time in history, people. Hear me on this. We are at a time in history when you can no
00:05:50.800
longer sit back and just let other folks do it. You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save
00:06:00.620
the world. The Lord is completing us. We are not perfect. We need your prayers. We need to be
00:06:09.540
allowed to stumble. We need grace. With that kind of support, we will move mountains and do Jesus' will.
00:06:18.700
Willis forgets. She's the one who started the fight and made a gross miscalculation when she assumed
00:06:24.140
President Trump and the Republican Party wouldn't fight back against her tyranny, her corruption,
00:06:30.460
and exceedingly bad judgment. The Federal Aviation Administration has hit a new low.
00:06:36.780
In their pursuit of woke diversity and inclusion and equity quotas, the FAA has implemented a diversity
00:06:43.680
and inclusion hiring initiative. Boy, that's a mouthful. That specifically recruits people with
00:06:49.160
disabilities, including people who are deaf, blind, have complete or partial paralysis,
00:06:54.700
people with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities. For those of you who are unaware,
00:07:00.800
this may not be the smartest program ever for one government agency if that government agency is
00:07:07.020
the FAA. The FAA is responsible for handling over 16 million flights a year, about 46,000 flights each
00:07:16.540
and every day, with about 3 million Americans in the air flying each day. What could possibly go wrong?
00:07:24.960
Well, our guest today is author Heather McDonald. Her latest book is entitled
00:07:28.860
When Race Trumps Merit, How the Pursuit of Equity Sacrifices Excellence,
00:07:34.900
Destroys Beauty, and Threaten Lives. I hope you're listening, FAA.
00:07:39.700
Heather, great to have you back with us on The Great America Show. Let's take up first the incredible
00:07:44.140
report on the FAA hiring psychiatrically and mentally disabled people for the FAA. As I said,
00:07:51.760
what could possibly go wrong? Well, people have to be, summon the courage to say that standards are not
00:08:00.540
racist, they're not sexist, they're not classist, they're not, you know, anti-disabilist. Colorblind,
00:08:09.140
neutral standards are the way that a civilization saves itself, improves itself, saves people from
00:08:17.460
premature death through poverty and squalor. And yet, we are so terrified to speak about the,
00:08:27.540
in the case of race diversity, to speak about the massive academic skills gaps that prevent the
00:08:37.880
facile attainment of diversity under neutral colorblind standards that we're willing to simply destroy
00:08:47.240
those standards in favor of mediocrity. Americans turn their eyes away because they are so well-meaning,
00:08:55.400
they believe in racial etiquette, and they don't want to take, bring attention to the
00:09:03.320
pathological inner city culture that is resulting in massive academic skills gaps. And instead,
00:09:11.400
they're willing to put their own lives at risk through things like telling the FAA that it's more
00:09:17.180
important that they get diverse flight controllers than ones who have the skills, the academic skills,
00:09:24.360
the IQ, the motor coordination, to handle keeping planes safe in the air rather than crashing into each other.
00:09:35.880
In the name of diversity, for crying out loud, it boggles the mind. It is just impossible to
00:09:45.800
understand how we've gotten to this position in our society, in our culture, in our politics. And I have
00:09:53.400
to say, right now, as we're watching the caucuses unfold in Iowa, and a selection of a president,
00:10:04.280
I hope it's an election of a president, I should say, an election of a president, and we have a group of
00:10:10.920
people, the Democrat Party, is now the Marxist Party in this country. And we have people who just don't
00:10:17.720
want to acknowledge that. They don't want to acknowledge that everything we saw over the
00:10:22.680
course of the past couple of months at MIT, UPenn, at Harvard, Cornell, we're watching a,
00:10:34.040
these are indoctrination factories. In matter of fact, I mean, they're a left-wing scam. They're a
00:10:40.360
program to subsidize left-wing Marxist professors and give them an assured income and sinecure
00:10:51.800
that will keep them sustained. It has nothing to do really with education. It's about student loans.
00:10:57.720
It's about these ridiculous demands of D-I-C-R-T, you name it. I really think that
00:11:06.040
higher education right now is a scam for the left. It absolutely is. It's a combination of
00:11:13.960
deliberate mediocrity and deliberate propaganda. You know, there's another aspect of universities
00:11:22.200
that the right doesn't really talk enough about, which is that they have grown so bloated. They are
00:11:28.040
they are simply machines to try and get as many warm bodies on, you know, first-year seats, who then
00:11:36.200
are going to mostly drop out because, because these students who've been recruited through this
00:11:42.040
incredibly obsessive effort on the part of university bureaucrats, they've got, they're like these
00:11:49.160
capitalist machines. They've got yield specialists and retention specialists, all trying to just be
00:11:57.160
like hucksters selling snake oil to get these students in. They don't care whether they're capable
00:12:03.480
or not. All they want is that first-year deposit so they can have a bigger budget in order to hire more
00:12:12.600
bureaucrats. And the degree of bureaucracy that is all dedicated to the fact that students are not
00:12:20.920
prepared. We have far too many people going to college, far too many. But the the liberal assumption
00:12:27.480
and sometimes also, I'm sad to say, the conservative assumption is that unless you have a college degree,
00:12:34.600
your life is basically over. You will live a life of, of, you know, thwarted ambition, thwarted capacity.
00:12:43.080
You will never be able to develop yourself to your full potential. That's completely wrong. There are so many
00:12:50.520
professions, occupations, skills that have nothing to do with what has become, in most cases, totally bogus
00:12:59.720
degrees. I mean, a degree in marketing. You should not go to college for a degree in marketing. You
00:13:06.280
should go to college if you want to study the classics. If you want to read Aeschylus and Euripides and
00:13:13.560
Sophocles and the great works of philosophy, of Western literature, of art, if you want to study
00:13:21.800
very demanding science. You should not be doing, you know, some pseudo communications degree. But this
00:13:30.840
is simply so that these colleges can continue expanding their student body. And the right has
00:13:37.640
to start speaking very clearly, Lou, about the dignity and beauty of, of crafts. And part of the reason why
00:13:45.800
we don't talk about hands-on skills is because males are more inclined to, to figure things out,
00:13:55.080
to want to work with machines, to tinker, to develop. And we are living in an anti-male culture
00:14:01.640
right now. Females are much more obedient, docile. You know, they're taking over the universities,
00:14:08.040
both in student body and faculty and in administration. And so we want to perpetuate something that,
00:14:14.440
that females up to a certain point do better than males. Now at the absolute top end of math skills,
00:14:20.920
of STEM skills, males still trounce females. But at the average level, females are better at sitting
00:14:29.960
in seats and, you know, writing their, their, their mostly empty verbiage papers. But, but colleges are,
00:14:39.000
are absolutely a betrayal of what they should be at this point. And, and again, I'm not even getting
00:14:45.560
to the ideology that made the pro-Hamas mass collective outbreak of psychosis of supporting
00:14:54.440
terrorists an absolute inevitability, Lou. Yeah, I think you're exactly right. I really do.
00:15:01.240
Because you, you, I mean, there are a host of issues contributing factors to all of this,
00:15:06.600
but the reality is that you've got so many of these young people on college and university campuses
00:15:12.040
who really don't have a, a, a, a study path, uh, a concentration, a major, uh, there, and there,
00:15:20.760
what's, what better to do than to tear down all of the institutions of society and, uh, cheer on, uh,
00:15:28.920
the Iranian back terrorists, uh, whether they're Hamas or Hezbollah, the Houthis, you name it. Uh,
00:15:35.400
we're going to take all of that up with Heather McDonald. Stay with us. We're coming right back.
00:15:42.040
We're back now with Heather McDonald and Heather. I, I want to turn to the, the electoral moment,
00:15:53.720
uh, we're, we're, we hear lots of people and I'm, I'm shocked by some of the people who use the word
00:15:59.380
progressive because they're, uh, in opposition, both politically and ideologically to Democrats,
00:16:05.080
but they refuse to use the word Marxist when describing a Barack Obama or the Biden administration
00:16:12.860
or regimes policies or, uh, you know, they're anti-America. They're pro, they're absolutely
00:16:19.600
embedded in, uh, Marxism and, and they refuse to call the Democrats Marxist when I think that's
00:16:27.480
precisely what they are without exception. Well, I actually would preserve Marxism for something that
00:16:33.780
is much more focused on destroying, uh, free markets and capitalism. Now you can say that,
00:16:40.680
well, the over-regulation, uh, that Biden is doing, the insanity of the green energy, uh, mission,
00:16:49.020
the insanity of believing that you can make everybody drive electrical vehicles without
00:16:53.640
impovering, impoverishing us, all of us by bringing down the electrical grids, uh, that that is
00:17:00.360
anti-capitalist, but it is not, I, I don't think that is in service of a absolutely unreachable
00:17:11.300
environmental goal. I don't think it's driven by the same hatred and belief in class revolution
00:17:17.560
that drives Marxism. I, I think it's something, uh, worse and less interesting because Marxism at
00:17:26.620
least had some interesting things to say about what was going on in the 19th century with the
00:17:31.960
development of this new form of capitalism and, and workers, proletarian workers in factories that
00:17:39.820
is very different than, than how human beings had organized their economies in previous centuries.
00:17:46.580
And so we can, we can disagree with Marx's, uh, conclusions, but, but some of his observations,
00:17:53.320
I think were, were not, uh, fanciful. What's going on more, I think is even worse, which is a hatred
00:18:01.420
for all of Western civilization. It's a civilization deemed too white and too male. Uh, and for that reason,
00:18:08.860
it has to come down. Uh, so this is, this is beyond something much more than, than economics. It's
00:18:16.080
about the very possibility of people striving for excellence without being told that by virtue of
00:18:25.280
being white, male, and heterosexual, they are going to be at the absolute bottom of the heap when it comes
00:18:32.680
to getting jobs, when it comes to college admissions, admissions to law school, medical school,
00:18:37.880
advancement in medical school, becoming a doctor. Uh, if you have a son or a grandson who is white and
00:18:46.600
heterosexual, he's going to have a very difficult time competing on his merits for the rest of his
00:18:53.400
life. He's going to be handicapped by hatred. Handicapped by hatred. And I, and I will, I want to
00:19:01.960
just take a moment to explain why I think that that Marxist, uh, uh, template works, uh, in this
00:19:09.700
instance. And that is because we saw in the sixties and the seventies, a shift in this country
00:19:15.600
away from the, the Marxists who were following the usual prescription. That is talking about class
00:19:21.940
warfare, talking about the proletariat, uh, and the revolution that they expected. They,
00:19:27.680
they were disappointed in every, uh, at every turn nearly in the United States, the unique American
00:19:34.840
experience. So what they did was they, in my judgment, they shifted to education. They shifted
00:19:40.880
to professionals, uh, professions, uh, they shifted to, uh, politics and they, and they flew under false
00:19:48.720
flags for the longest time. Uh, they, the great society, uh, under Johnson, for example, moved
00:19:56.400
government, uh, just lavishly across the, the, the, the, the entire scope of governance. And what we
00:20:06.220
have now is a government that is, uh, inculcated into, uh, government and, uh, in my judgment, a state
00:20:14.480
ownership, uh, of property and control. Uh, it's inculcated throughout our government. The Marxists
00:20:20.800
are in charge of the Democrat party. They are in charge of the permanent bureaucracy. They are in
00:20:25.440
charge of every agency and every department of the federal government. Uh, and by the way, they are now
00:20:32.000
coexisting with corporate, the corporatist, the corporate globalist. Uh, and, uh, it's to me,
00:20:38.800
straightforwardly, we are moving so far from capitalism, uh, that it's getting very, very
00:20:44.240
tricky when we talk about markets, because these markets are regulated to a point, uh, that's
00:20:50.800
remarkable. And by the way, being international markets now, not simply domestic markets, uh,
00:20:57.280
they, we are connected as we've never been, uh, to, uh, the other civilizations, if you will. And the
00:21:04.480
other, uh, countries around the world, uh, we're, we're, we're an international nation now, I think,
00:21:10.800
without doubt. Well, that's definitely true. I mean, we certainly believe that we have no right to
00:21:17.280
insist on our own, uh, inherent culture, that we must be, have our immigration policy determined by
00:21:24.480
people living outside the country based on their whim to get here, not based on what people within the
00:21:29.360
country believe in. Uh, there's no question. I was talking to a guy in Middle Eastern studies in
00:21:36.640
University of Pennsylvania, and he explicitly said, we in universities are supposed to be,
00:21:42.720
uh, go beyond nationalists. We're supposed to be post-nationalists. He actually said that.
00:21:47.760
And therefore he thought that why did the Jews get away with believing in Zionism? He thought this
00:21:53.680
was unfair on a college campus and that, that, uh, people that believe in Israel were violating
00:22:00.240
what should be now the dominant academic ideology. But I'm just going to push back again, Lou,
00:22:05.200
at that for the sake of an interesting discussion, uh, you know, I, I don't think there, there's a theory
00:22:11.520
out there among conservatives that this was all a deliberate, uh, plan, the long march through the
00:22:17.680
institutions to quote Marcuse. I just don't believe it. I think it was incremental. I don't think
00:22:23.360
there was anybody like some sort of communist five-year plan that set out to take things over.
00:22:31.920
I think there was pressure to expand government welfare. There was a race ideology that we had to,
00:22:39.840
uh, atone for our centuries of, of racial abuse and, and, and hatred and cruelty. So we're going to
00:22:48.800
expand the welfare state, but we are not as much as we are in many instances destroying a lot of
00:22:57.760
freedom of entrepreneurs to, to make decisions and, and you respond to market signals. We are not close
00:23:05.600
to destroying free markets. Nobody, the, the Hollywood moguls and the tech moguls that are the,
00:23:13.360
the big supporters of the democratic party really do not fear that they're going to have to, uh, give
00:23:20.720
up their, their industrial enterprises for, for a national takeover. You know, we're not going to
00:23:27.440
nationalize Google or, or Amazon. Uh, you know, some of these people, Jeff Bezos, he is a capitalist
00:23:35.440
par excellence. So I, again, I, I don't think it was a plan. And the only thing, you know, the, the
00:23:43.680
other thing that conservatives who, who say, oh, cultural Marxism, they say, well, Marxism has
00:23:48.560
hierarchies. It says there's good people and bad people categorically. Cultural Marxism does the same
00:23:54.080
thing. You're, you're bad. If you're white, you're good. If you're an underrepresented minority,
00:23:57.920
therefore the same, I, I think that obscures more than it, it clarifies because again, this is driven
00:24:06.160
by, uh, a, an identity ideology, not a hatred for the free market. I, I would, I would, I would love
00:24:17.360
if I thought that all of these idiot young people were really at risk of losing their access to their
00:24:25.440
Starbucks and their, and their smartphones, but you know, the, the free market is going to continue
00:24:31.680
pumping out these goodies, even as these idiots don't deserve them for an instant.
00:24:38.160
Well, you and I agree about what they deserve. We are talking with Heather McDonald. And as you can
00:24:45.440
tell, uh, we're having a lot of fun. I hope you are, because we're going to talk some more Marxism.
00:24:50.560
We're going to talk some communism and we're going to see if there's any relationship between
00:24:55.600
the oppressed and the oppressor, the, uh, the, the class structure of classical Marxism, uh, and, uh,
00:25:04.240
and ultimately the extension to communism, but we're going to do it. And I assure you hurried terms
00:25:09.440
and move on to other things as well, including why in the world did MIT's president get away with
00:25:16.320
everything that the other presidents who've lost their jobs in the Ivy Lee, uh, they didn't get away
00:25:23.120
with it. We'll be right back. We're talking with Heather McDonald and I just got to turn quickly to,
00:25:34.400
to Harvard and MIT and UPenn and Cornell. And why in the world, uh, why in the world are we
00:25:42.160
watching institutions, particularly with Harvard, uh, the Harvard corporation, uh, which is its
00:25:48.560
management group, uh, uh, sitting there influenced mightily, I think by Barack Obama, both in bringing
00:25:57.040
plotting gay to the presidency and also keeping her there despite cases of plagiarism and outright
00:26:04.240
bigotry in terms of her performance before Congress. How in the world could there be any doubt
00:26:10.240
in the minds of a governing body or one of these distinguished Ivy league schools, uh, with what
00:26:17.600
to do with plagiarism, with what to do with bigotry, uh, to, to your, your thoughts?
00:26:24.880
Because we're all living through a race hustle. Lou, the, the elites are not willing to be honest
00:26:34.400
about meritocracy and the incompatibility between meritocracy and diversity. Any institution that
00:26:42.000
tells you that it is, uh, dedicated to diversity is telling you so do voce that it is discarded
00:26:50.480
meritocratic standards of excellence and achievement that keep people safe, that keep people
00:26:56.160
able to account on future scientific invest, you know, research and, and discoveries,
00:27:02.320
uh, because you cannot have meritocracy and diversity at the same time, given the vast academic
00:27:09.600
skills gap. And let me just throw out one number so your listeners can have some sense of what I'm
00:27:14.640
talking about here, Lou. Uh, 66% of black 12th graders do not possess even partial mastery of basic
00:27:23.520
12th grade math skills, such as doing arithmetic or reading a graph. 66% are not capable of doing those
00:27:30.880
things. Uh, the, the number of black 12th graders who are advanced in math is too small to show up
00:27:37.360
statistically on a national sample. According to, uh, the ACT, only 2% of black 12th graders are
00:27:46.160
college ready. And yet we know that we have at Harvard, you know, it's about 14% black. All of the
00:27:54.560
diversity that we see in our institutions today is achieved because of this skills gap through vast
00:28:01.680
racial preferences that admit blacks and to a slightly lesser extent Hispanics with academic
00:28:08.320
skills as measured in task test scores that would be automatically disqualifying if presented by whites
00:28:14.000
and Asians. So we have two tiers of students. We have two tiers of faculty and the elites like the Harvard
00:28:21.360
corporation, uh, are not willing to tell the truth about the academic skills gap. And so they're
00:28:28.800
going to continue using race, not skills as the main mechanism of advancement. And so they were
00:28:38.160
absolutely dedicated to preserving Claudine Gay. The reason she was there was because of her race.
00:28:43.520
And it's a very bizarre discourse that these universities are forced to engage in because on the one hand,
00:28:49.920
they'll trumpet the fact that she's the first black female president at Harvard. And, and the,
00:28:55.760
the first, uh, notice that the Harvard corporation put out about her was all she's done so great to,
00:29:02.800
to make us focus even further in our curriculum at the vast racial inequities at Harvard and elsewhere,
00:29:08.960
which is complete BS. There are no racial inequities at Harvard and elsewhere, unless you're talking about
00:29:16.960
reverse discrimination against whites and Asians. But the degree of commitment to this racial ideology
00:29:24.880
is so great that it is completely blinding. It's silencing, it's deafening, uh, and, and it's going to
00:29:31.520
take a heck of a lot of effort for ordinary Americans to take their civilization back. And what it's going to
00:29:39.040
take is telling the truth about the academic skills gap, uh, so that there's an understanding
00:29:47.120
that when we are promoting diversity, we are promoting, uh, lower skills and mediocrity.
00:29:55.600
Yeah. I think people have to come to terms with that. There's no question about it.
00:29:59.280
Fannie Willis, the district attorney down in Fulton County, Georgia, uh, apparently got 14.6 million
00:30:05.520
dollars from the justice department in 2020. What did she spend that money on? It's very curious
00:30:11.200
because she is, uh, prosecuting, as you know, the president of the United States, 16 others,
00:30:15.360
uh, for the, uh, for irregularities. I'll put it that way in the 2020 election.
00:30:21.120
She also spent some of that money apparently on the lavish book, uh, vacations with her lover,
00:30:26.880
the special counsel that she put in place, who has never before tried a federal case,
00:30:31.200
the paid him $640,000. She goes to her church and at her church, she says this,
00:30:38.080
you cannot expect black women to be perfect. And there it is. She put, I played the race card
00:30:46.240
straightforwardly. She said that the entire investigation by the house judiciary committee
00:30:50.800
of her, that, uh, $14 million is all racist. And guess what? Yep.
00:30:56.080
That's this, that's where we are. That's, it's now a racist, uh, motivated, uh, calculation rather
00:31:04.480
than, uh, political. Yeah. You get the final thought here. Well, yes. I mean, it, the only people
00:31:12.000
who can be, uh, fired for cause that we think, well, maybe you didn't get that promotion is because
00:31:17.760
you didn't deserve it is a white person. But with blacks, you're first under mandate to hire people
00:31:24.480
based on race. And then if somebody doesn't get a promotion, if there's finally some reckoning with
00:31:30.400
a colorblind meritocratic standard, the only allowable explanation for that is racism. It's
00:31:36.240
an automatic excuse. Now, you know, uh, there's obviously plenty of white people who are corrupt
00:31:43.200
and who are, are stealing from the government coffers and, and who are put into positions that
00:31:49.920
they don't deserve. Uh, but the, and, and there's black people that that's true too. I mean, this is
00:31:55.760
the nature of, of human institutions. But at this point, uh, if you're black, you have an automatic
00:32:01.840
excuse. You will always play the race card. And we saw Claudia engage you that as well. And, you know,
00:32:06.560
Lou, I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks when the Harvard students come back on campus
00:32:11.840
after their Christmas break, because they're there. Harvard will have a student revolt on its hands
00:32:18.160
because they all believe the thing that Claudine Gay wrote, just, just amazing model and self-pity
00:32:24.240
in the New York times after she resigned, which is that the reason she was canceled was because she
00:32:28.800
was black. This is complete BS. The reason she was there because it was because she was black. The
00:32:34.000
reason she was held on for so long was because she was black. She was fired instead in spite of being
00:32:40.400
black, but the student body at Harvard is going to be an open revolt. And it's going to be very
00:32:46.080
interesting to see how it plays out. Yeah. It's going to also give us a shirt,
00:32:50.320
you know, a real test. It's going to be, uh, uh, well, a meritocracy moment, because if they do,
00:32:56.160
as you suggest they will do, uh, then their IQs are not as high as they once were, uh, for Harvard
00:33:02.480
students. And their, uh, a reason for being there is something beyond, uh, what we, uh, would normally
00:33:08.640
assume of a Harvard student. Uh, it's, uh, it's going to be fascinating. You're exactly right.
00:33:13.600
And it's always fascinating to talk with you, Heather. We thank you so much. Come back here
