00:00:00.000 I'm Lou Dobbs with this Great America Midday Update.
00:00:03.580 Corporate national media trying to manufacture buzz around last night's Fox Republican debate.
00:00:09.000 They didn't have much to work with, and they failed.
00:00:11.860 The charisma quotient on that stage last night was a negative number.
00:00:16.220 The big question of the night was never asked.
00:00:18.420 Whatever made any of those eight candidates think they have what it takes to be president?
00:00:23.040 The moderators were less than lively, and they seemed uninspired,
00:00:26.120 much like most of the candidates.
00:00:28.680 To their credit, all of the candidates but two raised their hands
00:00:32.280 when asked if they would support President Trump if he wins the nomination and is convicted.
00:00:38.240 The moderator seemed surprised by the overwhelming show of support for President Trump.
00:00:43.820 Fox News actually ran a MoveOn.org ad bashing Trump during the debate
00:00:49.560 and had a live shot going into a commercial break of the Fulton County Sheriff's area
00:00:54.080 where President Trump will be driven today to his arraignment.
00:00:58.260 Classy, huh?
00:00:59.720 In the same time slot, Twitter aired the recorded interview with Tucker Carlson and President Trump.
00:01:05.900 President Trump was warm, sharp, personable, presidential.
00:01:09.640 And Tucker, to his credit, did a lot of listening.
00:01:12.680 A good boost for the ex-outlet and Tucker.
00:01:16.320 President Trump did pretty well as well.
00:01:18.500 The president today in Georgia for his arraignment and what a sorry bunch the sheriff,
00:01:23.600 the district attorney, and the selected judge for the president's trial are.
00:01:27.840 They're partisans, they're prejudiced, and seemingly proud of it.
00:01:31.300 Folks, keep fighting, because at some point this country will come to its senses.
00:01:35.940 Pray that point is reached soon.
00:01:38.660 Our guest on the Great America Show today is Judicial Watch's President Tom Fitton.
00:01:43.620 Here he is on the collapse of ethics in the Justice Department.
00:01:48.600 The Justice Department is in a state of ethical collapse.
00:01:51.900 I mean, you've got two components of it, interrelated, two sides of the same coin,
00:01:57.520 which is the abusive targeting of Trump, indicting him about nothing,
00:02:02.320 essentially trying to jail him for having a different political point of view
00:02:05.980 and policy view than Biden on elections,
00:02:09.500 punishing him for disputing elections,
00:02:11.160 and warning others, a few dispute elections, you'll go to jail too.
00:02:15.600 And then the invert, you know, and the other side of that coin is,
00:02:19.300 well, you know, let's go after Trump,
00:02:21.500 and hopefully people are distracted from the Biden corruption.
00:02:25.160 And so you've got Garland and Weiss
00:02:28.000 and other senior officials at the Justice Department,
00:02:31.280 FBI's IRS,
00:02:34.020 caught red-handed in obstructing
00:02:36.020 and engaging in overt acts, right,
00:02:39.680 to protect the Bidens from any serious criminal investigation.
00:02:45.000 And over the weekend that was exposed.
00:02:47.280 I guess Hunter Biden's people put out documents
00:02:49.660 showing that the Biden regime was prepared to
00:02:54.720 issue no indictments against Hunter Biden
00:02:57.740 until the IRS whistleblowers came forward
00:03:00.760 and said there was obstruction of justice going on.
00:03:03.060 And then they came up with a sweetheart plea deal
00:03:05.760 that would have put him out to mild tax crimes
00:03:09.960 with no effective jail time
00:03:11.560 and a dangerously broad and unprecedented immunity agreement,
00:03:16.540 given the circumstances.
00:03:18.880 And so all that's happening.
00:03:21.600 And what do we get?
00:03:22.880 We get another indictment of Trump down in Georgia.
00:03:26.160 As if it could get worse, it did get worse
00:03:28.520 because the Georgia indictment stands out
00:03:31.680 as being a complete legal fiction
00:03:35.080 that has no basis in fact or law
00:03:39.060 in the sense that it alleges no criminal activity
00:03:43.900 by President Trump, frankly, anyone else,
00:03:46.860 as best I could tell,
00:03:48.600 that would subject these innocents
00:03:51.320 to court process and having their lives torn apart.
00:03:55.700 It's a terrible state our country's in
00:03:58.020 and it's all election interference
00:03:59.560 and there's no, you know, now we know,
00:04:02.480 you know, the Democrats in Fulton County
00:04:04.740 want this trial to go on in the middle of next year.
00:04:07.920 The Democrats in D.C. want the trial to begin
00:04:11.880 the beginning of next year,
00:04:14.660 right in the middle of the primary campaigns.
00:04:16.700 And who are they fooling?
00:04:18.280 Who are they fooling?
00:04:20.060 Three years and they wait till the primaries
00:04:22.300 to start indicting?
00:04:23.260 Please join us for all of our discussion
00:04:25.440 with Tom Fitton today on The Great America Show.
00:04:28.800 I'm Lou Dobbs with this Great America Midday Update.
