00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, March 3rd.
00:00:04.360 Happy Tuesday, folks.
00:00:05.980 The attacks on Iran continue.
00:00:08.520 Israeli forces struck the Iranian Supreme Council this afternoon as they gathered to choose yet another successor to the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
00:00:17.560 The IDF targeted Iran's leadership complex in the central Tehran overnight, describing it as the regime's most central and significant headquarters.
00:00:25.160 Specific targets included the presidential office and the building housing the Supreme National Security Council,
00:00:30.460 a key body advising the Supreme Leader on their national security and their foreign policy,
00:00:35.640 other elements of the leadership compound used by top officials for meetings, compound control, and related infrastructure.
00:00:42.480 The IDF stated that about 100 fighter jets dropped over 250 munitions on the complex following intelligence collection aimed at degrading Iran's command and control systems.
00:00:52.460 Now, this is the third or fourth time to which bombs have been dropped on locations to which a successor was being picked to succeed the Ayatollah Khamenei.
00:01:05.460 Spain is breaking with the European Union powers and bars America's use of bases in the escalating Middle East conflict.
00:01:13.380 Spain has moved to distance itself from the escalating U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran,
00:01:18.460 refusing now to allow American forces to use jointly operated bases on Spanish soil for strike operations.
00:01:25.420 The decision marks a sharp divergence from other European powers that have signal willingness to back what they describe as proportionate defense actions.
00:01:34.980 Flight tracking data showed that at least 15 American aircrafts departed from the Rota Naval Base or Moran Air Base in southern Spain following the weekend's attack.
00:01:44.520 Several of those aircrafts are identified as KC-135s, aerial refueling planes.
00:01:50.020 At least seven of the aircrafts were tracked and landing at Ramstead Air Force Base in Germany.
00:01:56.560 Others were seen headed toward France, though some flight paths were not publicly visible.
00:02:01.460 President Trump not happy with Spain.
00:02:03.440 In fact, says he plans to cut off all relations with them now, doesn't care to do any business with them, and he may embargo them.
00:02:10.680 Take a listen to President Trump just moments ago.
00:02:12.960 But the right was given to us by the Supreme Court, and we have the right as an example.
00:02:17.740 We talked about Spain. I could tomorrow stop, or today, even better, stop everything having to do with Spain.
00:02:24.980 All business having to do with Spain have the right to stop it.
00:02:30.260 Embargoes, do anything I want with it, and we may do that with Spain.
00:02:33.780 What do you think? Scott, do you have an opinion?
00:02:35.800 Sir, I agree. The Supreme Court reaffirmed your ability to implement an embargo.
00:02:43.120 And as we've talked, from your first term, the Section 301s and the 232s have withheld more than 4,000 lawsuits.
00:02:52.060 And USTR and Commerce are going to begin investigations, and we'll move forward with those.
00:02:59.080 And we've instituted a 15% tariff on everybody, as you know.
00:03:04.580 So as Spain seeks to reward the terrorist regime in Iran, President Trump, I guess, soon to make decisive action on what he decides to do.
00:03:16.800 And some reports out today indicate that China is not expected to support Iran militarily.
00:03:22.580 Big news. China's response has been rhetorically sharp, but strategically restrained.
00:03:28.320 UN Ambassador Feng Kang called it shocking that the strikes occurred during active diplomatic negotiations.
00:03:35.140 The foreign minister condemned the blatant killings, what they say, quote-unquote, blatant killings, of a sovereign leader,
00:03:40.960 warning that the Middle East risks being pushed into a dangerous abyss.
00:03:45.140 But it doesn't seem Beijing has any interest in partaking in the war militarily.
00:03:52.440 Beijing has afforded any meaningful backing of Tehran so far.
00:03:55.900 China's foreign minister urged the US and Israel to immediately stop their military actions
00:03:59.680 and return to dialogue while calling for respect for Iran's sovereignty.
00:04:03.400 But as I said, no indications that they plan to get involved with any sort of military force against either Israel or the United States.
00:04:12.820 And President Trump today announcing that for the first time he will attend the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner
00:04:18.620 as an honoree after years of boycotting the event.
00:04:22.280 The dinner, which is typically known for its woke comedy show and Trump-bashing reporters,
00:04:27.240 will be hosted by Oz Perlin.
00:04:29.560 White House Correspondents' Association President Wei Zhejiang, in a statement, says,
00:04:34.980 quote, as the world's most celebrated mentalist, Oz Perlman will offer a fascinating glimpse
00:04:39.180 to what truly the minds of Washington, D.C. newsmakers look forward to an exciting, fresh, and interactive evening
00:04:46.160 as we celebrate the First Amendment and Washington's news coverage altogether.
00:04:50.140 President Trump skipped last year's events and had tensions with the leftist media
00:04:53.740 over the decision to bar the Associated Press reporters from the Oval Office pool
00:04:58.400 and Correspondents' Association's initial decision to host Trump-hating comedian.
00:05:03.280 That's how it goes every year, so we'll see how it lands and works out this year.
00:05:08.000 And as the Epstein documents continue to come out,
00:05:11.480 so does the depositions of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
00:05:14.480 The videos have been released over the last two days.
00:05:17.520 There's one rather telling videos of Bill Clinton in his deposition exonerating President Trump,
00:05:24.880 saying President Trump and Ed Epstein had a falling out over a land deal years before any of this stuff came out
00:05:31.740 and that President Trump never mentioned any sort of dealings or anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein to Bill Clinton.
00:05:39.440 Take a listen.
00:05:39.920 I hate this, because I don't believe I should inject anything.
00:05:45.120 But I do not want to leave the impression, since there was no follow-up question,
00:05:53.340 he never, the President, never, this is 20-something years ago,
00:05:57.900 never said anything to me to make me think he was involved in anything in proper regard to Epstein either.
00:06:06.800 He just didn't.
00:06:09.920 That's the truth, you know.
00:06:13.300 As I said earlier,
00:06:15.560 the only conversation I had with President Trump about this was in the early 2000s.
00:06:24.620 And I have no information that he did anything wrong.
00:06:31.180 I just want it all out there.
00:06:32.940 I want everybody to get it all out there and let everybody see where we are.
00:06:36.420 There you have it, President Trump exonerated yet again.
