00:00:00.000 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Great America Podcast with Lou Dobbs,
00:00:04.200 always in the fight for truth, justice, and yes, our American way of life.
00:00:09.220 And now, here he is, the Peabody award-winning voice of truth, the great Lou Dobbs.
00:00:14.440 Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Great America Show, where truth,
00:00:18.600 justice, and the American way are the only way. We thank you for being with us, and here we go.
00:00:25.340 Russia's war against Ukraine goes on, more death, more devastation and destruction,
00:00:31.900 sickening sites of war in Ukraine. The Russians have several more cities surrounded now and are
00:00:37.980 only a mile outside Kiev. Two weeks' worth of war so far, and no end in prospect. And the Western
00:00:46.480 leaders bloviate, but say and do little, and two weeks of this war is more than enough for most of
00:00:53.100 us. And the rest of the world may not understand how Americans could possibly be war-weary in only
00:00:59.960 two weeks. After all, the war is more than 5,000 miles away from us, at least for right now. And
00:01:07.180 we Americans do realize that proximity thing could and sometimes does change very quickly. After all,
00:01:15.740 Iraq and Afghanistan are about 7,000 miles away. Iraq, a little fewer. Afghanistan, a little more.
00:01:24.620 And before we knew it, we were at war in both places. Most Americans never did quite grasp
00:01:29.780 the reason for the U.S. presence in far-away foreign lands. But there we were, in Iraq,
00:01:37.000 for about five weeks and defeated the enemy. But then our military stayed on for another nine years.
00:01:45.460 Afghanistan, almost two full decades. 20 years, can you imagine? Hardly seems possible. But we were
00:01:53.800 there, and we have the grave markers and wounded veterans to prove it. Combat operations ended in
00:01:59.780 2003. And then we stayed another 18 years. What were our leaders thinking? Yes, we're already tired
00:02:07.900 of the Russians' war against Ukraine, but don't blame our weariness on our admittedly short attention
00:02:14.240 spans. Maybe we Americans need to acknowledge that our test scores are going down, not up. Maybe we
00:02:21.900 should be blaming the two big Marxist teachers' unions for so many of our children being denied a
00:02:28.120 proper public education. And making really bad choices when we go to the voting booth. Because
00:02:34.980 it's the real issue. The real issue, the quality of our leaders, our politicians, who one way or
00:02:41.760 another kept us at war for decades. Add another two weeks to all that time in Iraq and Afghanistan,
00:02:48.760 and I'd say we Americans are understandably sick and tired of war. But that said, the war in Ukraine
00:02:55.700 goes on and the Ukrainians, with great courage and resolve, continue to defend their cities and their
00:03:02.280 homes and hold off the Russia military, despite low odds of prevailing. What will American leaders
00:03:09.520 do now? Now that it's been decided to not give NATO aircraft to the Ukrainians, and the strongest
00:03:15.900 action taken by the United States so far is to ban imports of Russian oil. For his part, Zelensky has
00:03:24.200 led Ukraine's defense against the invading Russians with great skill and courage, I'm sure surprising no
00:03:31.240 one more than Vladimir Putin. The Ukrainian military and resistance have been valiant and resourceful in
00:03:37.700 holding off the Russian forces and inflicting heavy losses on the invaders, even as they advanced across
00:03:44.300 Ukraine, devastating cities and towns, blowing up bridges, airports, killing an untold number of
00:03:52.000 Ukrainians, many of them civilians, of course. President Biden banned the import of Russian oil.
00:03:59.480 He did so against my wishes, I guarantee you. But only after intense pressure within his own party
00:04:07.040 and Democrat leaders were watching his poll numbers plummet as the midterm elections approach.
00:04:13.240 Even as Biden's polling improves somewhat this week, a majority of Americans still say he's unfit to be
00:04:20.040 president. I don't think those numbers will change much myself. And personally, I think the world will
00:04:26.300 welcome a truce in Ukraine, as the crisis there has revealed all too vividly, the lack of strong
00:04:32.720 and effective leadership among all NATO nations. I don't want to sound overly optimistic about the
00:04:39.880 prospects of a resolution in Ukraine, although I am hopeful, nor about the peace that I certainly hope
00:04:47.000 will result. But it is vital we achieve that peace as soon as possible. There are always too many fools
00:04:54.260 in every country who think there are political advantages to be had and are willing to take
00:05:00.180 liberty and lives of others to achieve their ends. Far more of those folks than statesmen, I'm afraid.
00:05:07.640 In short, I pray for peace. With us today is a great American. He's a patriot. He served in uniform
00:05:14.000 for almost 40 years, a combat veteran, rising from private to brigadier general, now U.S. congressman
00:05:20.800 from the great state of Pennsylvania, member of the House Transportation and Foreign Affairs
00:05:25.680 Committees. Please welcome Congressman Scott Perry to the Great America Show. Congressman,
00:05:31.640 great to have you here. Well, Lou, great to be with you. And boy, you sure laid it out. We are in
00:05:37.720 perilous times. And people often think, well, why should I care about foreign policy? What does it matter?
00:05:44.000 Well, it's mattering right now. If you go to the grocery store, certainly if you go to the gas pump,
00:05:48.540 you can see it matters. Leadership matters. And of course, we don't have any to speak of in this
00:05:53.540 country. And now we're all paying the price for it. I couldn't agree with you more. Let's talk about
00:06:00.140 these new developments, if we may, to begin with. In Ukraine, President Zelensky says he's ready to
00:06:06.960 compromise. What's your reaction? Well, look, I think he's displaying leadership. I wish he wouldn't
00:06:14.960 have to be prepared to compromise. But I'm sure he's looking out for the health and well-being of
00:06:22.000 his people, which are being slaughtered by a war criminal right now. And so at least to turn off
00:06:27.180 the artillery from falling down, I think it's important that we recognize his position and
00:06:32.840 respect that. Now, on the other hand, I don't think that he or the West or the world in general
00:06:38.460 can reward Vladimir Putin for his latest military excursion into his neighborhoods
00:06:44.420 unprovoked. And so while we want the shelling to stop and the loss of innocent lives and the
00:06:51.440 torment and torture that's occurring, we want all that to end. We absolutely must be firm. Russian
00:06:56.740 troops have to get out of Ukraine, including Crimea, and go back to where they came from.
00:07:02.200 And Vladimir Putin needs to stay at home. And this whole bit about, I can't have NATO forces on my
00:07:06.560 border. For goodness sake, the Russians are right up against us in Alaska. The Russians and the Chinese
00:07:12.220 are right up against us in Cuba. We got Venezuela right off our coast. I mean, who's he kidding?
00:07:18.280 The world's a dangerous place. The difference is that despots and totalitarians like Vladimir Putin
00:07:26.200 they invade their neighbors. Free countries like the United States of America, we wish our neighbors
00:07:32.120 would do better, but we certainly don't invade them. And to try and categorize us in the same
00:07:38.220 place as the left often does is completely unacceptable. So that's where things stand right
00:07:43.880 now. I understand the leader of Ukraine's position. We laud him for his bravery and sticking
00:07:50.900 in the fight. We understand he wants to stop the carnage and God bless him for his position.
00:07:56.200 You sit on the Foreign Affairs Committee, and you've obviously had a distinguished career
00:08:03.160 in the United States Army, the military. It is, to me, almost incomprehensible to think of
00:08:13.040 the number of people in this country who've never served in uniform, who have never held a weapon,
00:08:20.240 for crying out loud, and who are so eager, so eager to go to war. It's almost as though they don't
00:08:29.120 understand whatever else Vladimir Putin is. He has nuclear weapons, the second largest number of
00:08:35.280 nuclear weapons. Some argue the highest number of nuclear weapons in the world. And what I can't
00:08:44.320 comprehend is this sudden eagerness on the part of Americans, eight in ten, according to the Quinnipiac
00:08:51.280 poll, support a U.S. military response if Putin were to attack a NATO country, period. Your thoughts?
00:09:00.180 Well, look, the problem with the issue there is, of course, we have made commitments, and your
00:09:05.460 word is only as good as when the crucible hits if you stick to it. So we have Article 5 commitments
00:09:12.140 with NATO countries. Of course, we don't with Ukraine. But I suspect that most people wouldn't
00:09:17.640 be so inclined to be willing to jump into a shooting war with men and women, our finest on the ground
00:09:24.560 in Ukraine, if they knew that nuclear, all-out nuclear war were on the table. And while many
00:09:30.040 people didn't think that Vladimir Putin was serious about going into Ukraine, and what you're seeing
00:09:35.720 unfold on TV right before your eyes is actually happening, I think it's important that we listen to
00:09:41.420 these people, these despots and these totalitarians, whether it's Vladimir Putin, whether it's Kim in
00:09:49.120 North Korea, whether it's the mullahs in Iran. When they say things, generally speaking, you can count
00:09:54.340 on them to mean them. And it's certainly the case with Vladimir Putin. So when he talks about using
00:09:59.060 tactical nuclear weapons, maybe not in America, but certainly in Europe and Ukraine, I think we have
00:10:04.680 to proceed with caution. We don't want to be involved in World War III. We don't want World War III. At the
00:10:11.220 same time, there's a place to thread the needle here and rein Vladimir Putin in. He should be
00:10:16.020 isolated economically. And quite honestly, he should be on trial for war crimes. But that's going to be up
00:10:22.200 to the Russian people to make sure that that happens. But we absolutely have to proceed with
00:10:26.660 caution here. War is not a place that anybody wants to be. And if you think it is, just imagine
00:10:31.100 yourself living in Ukraine right now. To me, it's unimaginable because I see the damages everyone
00:10:38.240 does on their television sets and on their monitors every day. And one of my concerns here is what we
00:10:46.820 have seen and what we've seen reported is so, I would say, constricted. This president has not
00:10:55.600 explained anything. He hasn't explained why that ban will be effective on oil. He hasn't explained
00:11:01.800 why we got here and how in the world this had developed without U.S. leadership at least
00:11:08.060 communicating with the American people about what was unfolding in Europe months before. Instead,
00:11:13.660 they talked to the Chinese. Yeah, you're absolutely right. It's as though, look, you would like to think
00:11:21.220 this is sheer incompetence as they bumble along. But Lou, you know this all too well. You've been
00:11:26.120 around this game for a while. This is exactly, it's not incompetence. Now, I'm not saying that
00:11:32.060 President Biden wanted Putin to invade Ukraine. I don't know that that's the case. But I certainly
00:11:39.040 think that President Biden and certainly the people around him hate America. And you don't share
00:11:44.760 intelligence with the Communist Party of China and then act like you're surprised when they give it to
00:11:50.640 the Russians. And oh, by the way, you don't talk about shutting off Russian oil and you're reluctant
00:11:56.600 to do it. At the same time, the Russians are actually negotiating on our behalf for this alleged
00:12:02.600 Iran nuclear deal. The world is upside down here. And it's important to understand that how we got here
00:12:08.300 is as important as what we do here from here on in. And so how we got here in part is because
00:12:14.860 of President Biden and the left's just all out war on American energy and American sovereignty. And you
00:12:21.420 know this well, Lou, you've been talking about it for years. Biden's first act is to shut down the
00:12:26.440 Keystone Pipeline. No drilling on our own lands or the continental shelf, shutting down ANWR. No
00:12:32.500 permitting of natural gas facilities. These things, they cripple America at the same time. We're buying
00:12:41.600 Chinese-made batteries and moving to this alternative energy source, which is not reliable
00:12:47.840 long before we can sustain it for ourselves. And so we're putting ourselves in the same position
00:12:52.960 that Western Europe put themselves in vis-a-vis Russia. But it wasn't just the policies that,
00:12:59.220 you know, Vladimir Putin is completely and solely responsible for the war in Ukraine. But
00:13:03.720 certainly, President Biden's policies have encouraged it. And then, of course, the rhetoric.
00:13:08.300 My goodness, Lou Dobbs, telling Vladimir Putin that a small incursion into Ukraine wouldn't be met
00:13:16.160 with much resistance. He already moved into Crimea and other provinces years ago. When are we going to
00:13:24.180 say that bullies can't do these things? And acting like President Trump was the weak hand in this and
00:13:31.000 that Vladimir Putin would be scared of President Biden is just laughable. And of course, if it wasn't
00:13:38.160 so horrific and tragic, the horrific tragedies are what you're seeing right now unfold on your very
00:13:43.920 screen. So, you know, certainly, in my opinion, President Biden bears some responsibility for his part in
00:13:52.400 what's occurring right now in the world, the gas prices, the shortages, and of course, the horrific loss of
00:13:57.300 life and destruction in Ukraine.
00:13:59.140 And the national left-wing media, the corporate-owned media. And by the way, media in this country,
00:14:08.720 the national media is following exactly the orders from corporate America, whether it is Comcast,
00:14:14.520 whether it is Jeff Bezos with the Washington Post, Disney, and ABC News. These outlets are appalling
00:14:25.060 in that they refuse to acknowledge that President Trump was right, or as all of his followers like
00:14:32.520 to say, he was right about everything. But he was certainly right about America first. He was certainly
00:14:37.540 right about strong leadership. And he was right about dictators and the way in which to deal with them.
00:14:45.180 And suddenly, we have a president who's talking like a neighborhood bully, a 15-year-old, acting as if
00:14:55.620 he should be strutting around in international politics. It's just stunning. And this is a man that
00:15:05.100 60% of the American people believe is unfit to be commander-in-chief. And this is not a commander-in-chief
00:15:12.400 I want to go to war with. Well, certainly not. He's not in command of anything. And remember,
00:15:17.520 Secretary Gates said that Joe Biden, as senator, before he was president, was on the wrong side of
00:15:23.680 every consequential foreign policy decision ever made. And of course, now he's the president. But
00:15:29.520 the track record remains the same. The mainstream media is going to be happy to go out there and
00:15:34.960 show for President Biden when he calls this the Putin price increase at the pump. But you remind
00:15:39.700 your viewers and your listeners that the prices started going up on your gas that you get at the
00:15:45.340 gas station every week on day one of the Biden presidency. While they might be going up more
00:15:51.500 because of Ukraine right now and because our failed energy policy, our anti-American energy policy,
00:15:56.980 courtesy of President Biden, this is a policy that has been chosen by the left. They are forcing this
00:16:04.340 on you. And so he needs to be held accountable. He is not up to the task to be commander-in-chief.
00:16:11.840 And it's why that every single American needs to be very vigilant at the decisions that are being
00:16:17.060 made and speak up, make sure your voices are heard, because we certainly can't trust Joe Biden
00:16:21.340 to lead us out of the fog of war right now. And Biden's saying he's pumped more oil than Donald
00:16:30.280 Trump, which I thought was a great expression, as if Joe Biden were pumping oil. When he, in fact,
00:16:35.040 as you pointed out, the first thing he did was shut down the Keystone pipeline. Amongst the other
00:16:40.140 things that he's done is to encourage the destruction of the petrochemical industry in this country, the
00:16:46.100 oil and gas industry. It is everything he's done has been exactly wrong, as Bob Gates, as you say,
00:16:55.080 said of him in the campaign of 2020. He's been wrong on every issue of national security and foreign
00:17:05.220 policy. And I'm sorry. That's absolutely right. That's absolutely right, Lou. The only thing that
00:17:11.300 President Biden is oiling up is the machinery of the Chinese Communist Party as they pump our country
00:17:19.500 full of unreliable energy sources and batteries made with slave labor in Xinjiang and child labor
00:17:26.280 in Africa for the cobalt and take us offline, making our power grid unreliable. And it's going to be at
00:17:39.300 their hands, unfortunately. I mean, Europe tried this. And they went offline with their nuclear and
00:17:46.040 their reliable generation standards. And now they're Putin. Putin is extorting them, which is
00:17:55.500 part of the deal here. And of course, China is going to do it to us as well. And that's why we
00:18:00.200 barely are. I don't know if we'll make three years of a Biden presidency, quite honestly, but these kind
00:18:04.500 of policies, there's two sides of this coin. If you're going to stop pumping Russian oil, you've got
00:18:09.140 to start pumping American oil, not going to Iran and certainly not Venezuela. These are terrorist
00:18:14.400 nations. Why would we go to them? Yet, you know, this is, again, a president that appears to hate
00:18:20.380 America, saying that you have to buy your fossil fuels from terrorist nations instead of Texas.
00:18:27.100 That's patently absurd. Well, he is an absurd president, I think it's fair to say. He's saying
00:18:35.160 that he's not subsidizing Putin's war. He knows full well that that isn't even close to the issue.
00:18:41.180 In point of fact, he's not doing a thing to Putin by banning this Russian oil. And it does highlight
00:18:47.640 the fact that Putin has a strategic partner in all of this. And I don't think it's an accident that in
00:18:54.300 2019 and 2020, we saw the Wuhan virus unleashed on the world and more than 5 billion people around the
00:19:02.580 world killed. Same number in this country has risen. Same number of dead has risen from 2020 to this year.
00:19:14.640 We're looking at almost a million Americans killed with the Wuhan virus. And nobody is protesting that.
00:19:22.600 We're all upset about Putin in Russia, but we completely forget what Xi Jinping did to the entire
00:19:32.480 world, who is the strategic partner of Vladimir Putin. And people talk about Putin as if he were
00:19:38.620 the Lone Ranger. No, he's, you know, he's, he's the partner of Xi Jinping. And yeah, he's better
00:19:45.780 remember that. He's the minority partner. Yeah, he's the minority partner. And people should remember
00:19:49.980 it. While it's horrific that 2 million people have now left Ukraine seeking safety and were right to
00:19:56.240 be concerned about that. But what about the 2 million people that walked across our southern border
00:20:00.440 unimpeded? We don't know their criminal history. We don't know their health history. Just walk into
00:20:05.980 the United States of America. And Joe Biden, he doesn't even know the southern border exists, but he sure
00:20:12.120 knows one exists in Europe. Again, you got to wonder about American president who doesn't care about
00:20:17.100 America. Exactly. And, and by the way, who's afraid to speak about China? You know, I, I, I got a kick
00:20:24.360 out of Lindsey Graham, uh, who's, uh, you know, holding forth, uh, as he often does, but suggesting,
00:20:31.700 suggesting that we carry out assassinations, uh, publicly calling for the assassination of Vladimir Putin.
00:20:39.340 It's about time people understood that this, that when we use the, our military might, that there are
00:20:48.300 great responsibilities and consequences for doing so. And the U S senators, uh, Marco Rubio walking out
00:20:55.600 of a, uh, a con, a confidential, a classified meeting with Zelensky for senators and congressmen.
00:21:02.460 And I, I, I, you may have been there, I Congressman, but Marco Rubio was one of two people walked out
00:21:08.480 after being told not to take pictures who did so. And then, uh, you know, put it online. This is a
00:21:15.620 country right now. We have some of the doggondous people, uh, representing the American people. It's
00:21:22.340 just deeply disturbing to me. Yeah. People don't realize that, uh, those photographs are embargoed
00:21:28.380 because the Zelensky's background might be used to target him and locate him by the death squads
00:21:34.200 that are speaking of, uh, that are seeking him. And speaking of death squads, shouldn't we be more
00:21:39.120 interested in the fact that apparently Iran has sent death squads or assassin assassination squads to
00:21:44.200 the United States to, to kill, uh, John Bolton, whether you're not, you agree with his politics or
00:21:49.400 not. Shouldn't that be a big concern? And yet we have the Russians negotiating, negotiating on our
00:21:54.980 behalf with the Iranian mullahs, mullahs, the same ones that are alleged to have send assassins to
00:21:59.880 the United States of America. There's a lot of things in the world to focus on. And again, if you
00:22:04.860 keep your focus on the safety and security and the wellbeing of the American people, the people that
00:22:10.320 you elected, that elected you, the people that you're elected to serve, this would be a lot more
00:22:15.200 simple. That's a, it's pretty easy, Lou, just say what you're going to do and then go do that. But,
00:22:19.900 uh, you know, some of these folks have a hard time keeping it straight.
00:22:22.640 Uh, they do. And I, and a lot of it is in the values, uh, the Quinnipiac poll. I'm going to
00:22:28.800 refer to it one last time, uh, revealing that, uh, as I said, eight and 10 people support a U S
00:22:36.160 military response. If Putin were to attack a NATO country in that same poll, a majority of Democrats
00:22:41.840 were polled, uh, saying that they would, uh, flee, not stay in fight. If Russia were to invade the United
00:22:48.940 States, a majority for crying out loud, while a majority of independents and Republicans said
00:22:55.020 they would stand and fight, were they to invade this, this seems to be a curious divide between
00:23:03.300 Democrats and Republicans and independents. Let me speak to that a little bit, Lou. It's not
00:23:08.940 really curious to me. You have to just change your way of thinking because we're thinking the way we
00:23:14.680 used to Lou that the Democrat party just had a different way of, of getting to the same place
00:23:19.800 in America that the Republican party did that liberals and conservatives, while they disagreed
00:23:24.520 on maybe the policy, they loved America, that, that Democrat party no longer exists. And it's been
00:23:29.960 taken over by the hard left, which thinks that America is the root of all the evils. And so it's easy
00:23:35.640 to see they're happy to fight for some other country, but they're not happy to fight for their own
00:23:39.880 because they despise their own, which is part and parcel to what you said about earlier in the
00:23:44.920 program about all these people in America that are working against America. They literally believe
00:23:49.960 and have been taught for 40 years, uh, by, by this left wing ideology, whether it's a mainstream media
00:23:56.040 and, or in academia, it's, it's pervasive throughout society that America is the problem. And of course,
00:24:01.880 they wouldn't be allowed or wouldn't be free to say any of these things in most every other country on
00:24:06.520 the planet. But in America where you have free speech, all they can spend their time doing is
00:24:10.680 trashing it. And then when it comes to defending their very own rights in the country that they
00:24:14.920 grew up in, up in, they apparently can't be, can't even be bothered to do that. So that's,
00:24:20.760 that does make sense to me. They hate our country, Lou. That's the bottom line.
00:24:24.600 It is the bottom line and it is the bottom line, I think for the, for the entire American left.
00:24:30.680 Uh, we're, we're seeing the examples of that, whether it be, uh, in terms of the two impeachments
00:24:38.520 against a sitting president that were absolutely frivolous, uh, no basis in fact. And in fact,
00:24:45.560 according to John Durham, the special counsel, uh, there was a, a, a plan, a coordinated orchestrated
00:24:53.160 attack on a president, even before he was president to stop him, to stop his presidency,
00:24:58.840 to overthrow his presidency. And now is, as he has now a former president, uh, to continue to
00:25:06.600 persecute him. Right. And we are watching the same, the very same tactics with a January 6th committee,
00:25:13.800 which I know has subpoenaed you, uh, which you rejected. Uh, and we still have in prison, uh,
00:25:23.160 people who were there on January 6th on Capitol Hill, who haven't seen their families in a year,
00:25:29.240 and for whom the courts will not move forward, uh, to trial. It's absolutely un-American.
00:25:36.280 It is an act of hate on the part of the democratic party, the January 6th committee, and this president,
00:25:42.680 your thoughts? Well, certainly our, our freedoms and our rights are under assault on, uh, at every turn,
00:25:50.280 uh, at every corner. This is the standard fare for the left. They simply cannot stand to hear
00:25:55.480 alternative viewpoints. They cannot stand and will not accept not being in control. They,
00:26:01.000 they, they, the, whatever the ends are justifies the means. And unless America, uh, realizes that
00:26:08.120 your freedoms are being removed from you every single day. And unless you're willing to fight
00:26:13.080 for them, this is the, where this is where the left is going to go. They, the elites want to run
00:26:17.640 the country. You as the surf are supposed to pay your taxes and shut your mouth and do as you're
00:26:22.280 told. They're just fine with that. But anything other than that, they're going to come after you.
00:26:26.520 And it's, it's more than just canceling you off your, you know, your platform or, or, uh,
00:26:32.520 whatever social media sites you're on. As you said, Lou, they're happy to just throw you in jail
00:26:37.080 and throw away the key and forget about this constitution that every single one of them has
00:26:41.800 raised their hand and swore to uphold and defend. Those are just empty words. They say that so that
00:26:46.760 they can take the office. They have a completely different design for the United States of America.
00:26:51.160 They wanted to, instead of moving to one of these other countries where they can have everything
00:26:55.000 their heart's desires and socialist nations, they, they want to turn the United States
00:26:59.480 into a socialist nation. That's just their mindset. They think that that's utopia. And if you don't see
00:27:05.400 it, uh, you know, you're, you're, you're relegated to, uh, unfortunately the, probably the best case
00:27:10.840 is the dustbin of history or actually worse than you, as you've already outlined.
00:27:16.120 And as, as we're, as we're nearing a conclusion here, Congressman, and I appreciate your time
00:27:22.040 here with us today. I can't help, but note for the audience that there's some cross purposes in
00:27:28.680 our foreign policy as well, including the decision taken by President Biden to ban Russian oil. And
00:27:36.760 Vice President Kamala Harris even made a point of, uh, saying out loud what wasn't being spoken,
00:27:43.400 which is the high price of oil, uh, is very helpful to the AOC Marxist plan, uh, to move to green energy,
00:27:53.720 uh, to destroy the petrochemical industry, uh, which by the way, would mean, as you well know,
00:28:00.200 the destruction of a significant sector of our economy of 55% of our economy is influenced by those
00:28:08.040 fossil fuels and, uh, energy, uh, yet they absolutely insist on moving ahead with their
00:28:15.560 agenda, even at the cost of, uh, without question, a crisis in which the result is higher oil prices
00:28:24.680 and an attempt to drive everything from the purchase of EVs by an American people who can't afford them
00:28:32.680 right now. In addition to the, all the high costs of energy and a, and an EV industry, they can't
00:28:38.280 provide enough of those cars. Well, not only that, Lou, this, that the whole industry is not ready for
00:28:44.200 prime time. Our, our economy runs on energy, but energy that's reliable and batteries that are made
00:28:51.080 in China, uh, with that are completely sourced out of this country and are not reliable for the long
00:28:57.240 haul is, is not the answer. And certainly, you know, conversations about turning our military into
00:29:02.600 an all EV military. Uh, I don't know, uh, you know, these people have never worn a uniform and
00:29:07.960 had to deal with the enemy who has a boat. This is failed policy, but again, they're not interested
00:29:12.920 in the market. They're not interested in what Americans want. They're interested in their elitist
00:29:17.480 policies because they know better than you do. And so if you're paying five, six, seven, whatever,
00:29:23.080 $10 a gallon, it's just fine with them, Lou, because as you've already talked about, and you're
00:29:28.120 absolutely right, Americans must realize that the hard left and that's who's in charge of
00:29:32.520 this so-called Democrat party now desires you for, they, they don't want you driving on the road
00:29:38.440 at all. As a matter of fact, they want to put no maintenance, uh, money into road work or any of
00:29:43.320 that kind of stuff because they don't want you driving. But if you must drive, if you, if you,
00:29:48.200 if you demand to drive as an American citizen, they're going to make sure that your choices are
00:29:52.840 limited. You're only going to drive an electric, drive an electric vehicle where the grid is not
00:29:57.640 capable of, of charging all those, even in California right now, they don't want them
00:30:02.120 charging at night. The grid can't handle it, but that's okay with them too, because remember,
00:30:06.440 the goal is to limit your travel so that, uh, so that, you know, because they, they worship not
00:30:12.280 only Biden, but certainly AOC and the left in general worship at the gods of the green new deal.
00:30:17.560 And so that's their, that's what drives their policy. And so they're just fine with, uh, with
00:30:23.640 the, the prices at the pump, but they want to blame it on Vladimir Putin instead of, uh, instead
00:30:28.920 of owning up for what these are policy, policy decisions that they're making. They're making
00:30:34.360 these policy decisions. So if you don't like what you see, uh, just follow it back to where it goes.
00:30:39.720 It goes right to AOC, uh, and Joe Biden and the, and the so-called Democrat party. That's why this is happening.
00:30:46.200 Congressman, I'm going to say, it's been a pleasure talking with you today, and I appreciate your time
00:30:52.120 and, uh, and sharing your thoughts with the audience, uh, and me, uh, we have a, uh, uh,
00:30:58.840 we have a, uh, uh, a convention on this broadcast. We always give our guests the last word. So I'm going
00:31:05.240 to turn it over to you, uh, for your, your concluding thoughts, if I may. Well, my concluding thoughts are,
00:31:11.800 look, the, the, the America for sure, the world in general is crying out for leadership and truth.
00:31:18.040 And so, uh, certainly you can see leadership in a guy like Zelensky. You're not going to find it in
00:31:23.720 Biden. You can find the truth. One of the places you're going to have to look for it, but one of
00:31:27.160 the places you can find it is at Lou Dobbs. And the other thing is, is that look, our, our country
00:31:32.680 requires us to be heard. Uh, it doesn't work if we stay silent and keep our heads down and hope that
00:31:39.240 a few other people will handle it for us. If you don't like the course that your country has taken,
00:31:44.600 uh, then you're going to have to say something. You're probably going to have to do something.
00:31:48.120 So other than get your information from Lou Dobbs, it requires you to go out and be heard
00:31:53.480 and make your opinions known and demand action for the safety and the security and the vitality
00:31:59.560 of the great country that you love and live in. Congressman, I thank you for your,
00:32:04.520 your, your, your terrific conclusion and your kind words. Thank you, sir. And I appreciate you
00:32:10.200 being with us and I hope you'll come back soon. We wish you all the best and we thank you for your
00:32:14.040 service, uh, in the U S Congress, as well as in the U S military. Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. God
