00:00:00.000 Hello America and welcome everybody to the Great America Show. I'm Lou Dobbs and delighted you've
00:00:05.580 joined us. This past weekend I took a few hours to rest up and contemplate what's going on in
00:00:11.940 this beautiful country of ours. I confess I do the same thing almost every weekend and in fact
00:00:18.760 I ruminate and reflect during every day of the week on the very same question and the question
00:00:25.020 is how in the world could America be in the mess we're in and why is it our national leaders can't
00:00:31.300 find or won't articulate a way out of these trying times even as it becomes increasingly obvious to
00:00:38.500 most of us that worse times await us unless we change course unless we mend our ways unless we
00:00:45.740 fix problems and resolve conflicts that threaten to tear apart this great republic. Why is it our
00:00:52.900 leaders don't feel our urgency? Why is it that working Americans and their families are most
00:00:59.600 often the very last in the consideration of our lawmakers and politicians? Why is the white
00:01:06.420 American male seemingly the only unprotected group in the country? How is it that teachers are permitted
00:01:13.200 to sexualize our public schools and to have superior rights to parents in deciding a child's gender
00:01:20.600 identity? Why do we permit what is clearly grooming of public school students? Never before in American
00:01:28.480 history have our schools and teachers been allowed to replace parents and family in the lives of their
00:01:36.060 children. Never before. How is it that an entire industry has arisen in our medical profession that's
00:01:43.420 built on mutilating our children and adults who are sometimes confused adolescents, in some cases
00:01:50.440 mentally ill adults? We've reached a point of such confusion and chaos in many of our communities
00:01:56.860 that we have to consider the possibility that America is at the precipice of social collapse.
00:02:03.740 Who are the protectors of our children if not their parents? Teachers and schools surely are not their
00:02:09.860 protectors. In fact, some are predators. And who will protect our children from predators within our
00:02:16.800 public schools? Our medical profession? We face madness from every quarter. And certainly not least of all
00:02:24.340 from the Biden administration, whose foreign policy postures seem designed to take the United States
00:02:30.460 to war. Biden's U.N. ambassador over the weekend saying that China's lethal aid to Russia, if it were to
00:02:37.680 occur, would be a, quote, red line for the United States. U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield warned China
00:02:45.320 that there would be consequences. But not what kind of consequences. But it sounds ominous. As were the
00:02:53.240 words of Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the Munich Security Conference over the weekend.
00:02:58.220 And the administration stepping up its rhetoric and messaging on Ukraine. Talking not about the
00:03:04.800 devastation, destruction and loss of millions of lives in Ukraine, but talking about the war in Ukraine as
00:03:11.560 Russia's human rights campaigns as we near the first year anniversary of this war. All while the United
00:03:19.860 States and European allies are preparing to ship fighter jets to the Ukrainians and more of U.S.
00:03:26.080 advanced weaponry. The Biden regime is never adroit, but now seems committed to the idea that if it only
00:03:33.760 ships tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine, more weaponry from our allies and spews nonsense about human
00:03:41.000 rights in Ukraine, that that somehow is leadership. Former President Trump continues to act as our
00:03:49.240 shadow president on his way to Palestine, Ohio, to look at the Norfolk Southern derailment, the damage it
00:03:56.520 did, the hazardous chemicals disaster that it's become, those chemicals contaminating the air, water and soil.
00:04:03.620 FEMA says they can't help. President Trump says he will help and will do more in 2024. That's among
00:04:13.240 the reasons our guest today endorsed President Trump for president in 2024. She's the new congresswoman
00:04:20.340 from Wyoming, Harriet Hageman, who defeated Liz Cheney for the job. She's been a trial attorney for 35
00:04:27.080 years. She's a rancher and calls herself an absolutist constitutionalist conservative. Welcome
00:04:33.840 to the Great America Show, Congresswoman, and congratulations on your election. Let's start
00:04:39.200 with your endorsement of President Trump for 2024 and your reasons. Well, I think it's stated in the
00:04:46.860 statement that I issued, which is that I think he's one of the best presidents during my lifetime.
00:04:52.760 And for me, the big issue, or one of, there's two big issues. One of them that you've been focusing
00:04:57.740 on for decades now, and that is illegal immigration and securing our border. And the second one is
00:05:03.300 energy independence. I'm actually sitting in a parking lot right now in Green River, Wyoming,
00:05:08.340 in western Wyoming, where we have substantial amount of energy development. We have coal, we have oil and
00:05:14.220 gas, we have Toronto, we have uranium in Wyoming. About 40% of all of the energy used in the United States
00:05:21.000 comes from Wyoming. And my state is dependent upon our ability to continue to produce and use our
00:05:27.180 resources. Donald Trump obviously believed in energy independence, as do I, and the current
00:05:32.620 administration does not. So it was just simply a matter of getting out there and explaining why I
00:05:37.300 supported him. Well, I knew that Wyoming produced a lot of energy. I didn't realize it was that much.
00:05:43.680 That is extraordinary. And do you think we're on our way to energy independence?
00:05:50.420 That's my way of asking. That was my way of asking.
00:05:54.680 You know, what we're on the way to is energy poverty. We have an administration that is adopting
00:06:02.200 policies that are intended to increase the cost of energy, housing, and food. None of which makes any
00:06:08.320 sense when you consider the very purpose of our government, which is to protect our natural rights
00:06:12.640 and do things like protect our infrastructure and build infrastructure so that we can exercise the
00:06:18.620 entitlements that we have in this country. And not by entitlements, I mean, our entitlement to use our
00:06:23.260 natural resources, our entitlements to affordable energy, those things. So we have an administration
00:06:30.040 that I would say has largely gone to war with the average American citizen, and it makes no sense.
00:06:35.240 Well, energy and land use are big items in Wyoming. And I want to start with the idea that we've been
00:06:44.880 selling farmland, ranch land, to communist Chinese buyers. How in the world, and I know that you have
00:06:53.180 put forward a bill or supporting a bill to stop that, but I just can't understand how in the world we got
00:07:00.280 here. You know, I think part of it is, Lou, is not watching what is going on in the world stage.
00:07:07.340 And where I saw this starting is that we really only have four large packers in the United States
00:07:13.000 in terms of meat production. And I come from a ranch near Fort Laramie is where I grew up. My family is
00:07:19.140 still in ranching. And one of the challenges we have is there's essentially a monopoly in terms of
00:07:24.140 the packing side of it, the meat side of it. We raise the cattle, they're the meat side of it.
00:07:28.500 One of our packers is owned by China. That's something I've been talking about for quite
00:07:32.980 some time is why would we put the CCP in charge of our food supply? But then you start looking at
00:07:38.960 the other things they've done, which is you point out, they're buying real property and they're
00:07:42.520 buying real property, not just farm ground, but they're buying real property around sensitive sites
00:07:46.980 such as military installations. That's why I am supporting a couple of different bills to stop
00:07:52.300 the Chinese Communist Party or anyone associated with them from purchasing additional land or resources
00:07:57.820 in the in the United States. And why I emphasize that last part is they do a lot of this through
00:08:04.020 essentially straw men. I mean, they don't necessarily walk into a community and write down
00:08:08.880 on the bottom line that the Chinese Communist Party is purchasing, you know, three sections of land
00:08:13.760 north of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. They go through surrogates and third parties, and we need to start
00:08:20.220 ferreting that out. And we need to stop it from happening. I can assure you, we would not be allowed to
00:08:25.480 purchase property in China. And indeed, we are not allowed to. And the issue of using straw buyers
00:08:33.440 for land, that in and of itself should be illegal when they are a straw for a foreign government.
00:08:40.820 Does your legislation cover that issue? I believe that the second one that we did, which is that it
00:08:47.380 would be anyone associated with. So hopefully that language is broad enough to cover that. But that was
00:08:53.700 the intent. I don't think that these will be the last of the bills, though, that are put forward for
00:08:58.380 this, because I think it's a fairly complicated issue that's going to take some time to unravel
00:09:03.020 and kind of get under the hood and figure out how all of this is happening. Because again, I don't
00:09:07.880 think we ought to just look at farm ground or real property. I think we need to be looking at the CCP
00:09:12.960 actually owning one of our large four packing plants or packing companies in the United States,
00:09:18.160 thereby substantially impacting or having the ability to shut down our food supply.
00:09:23.700 And Congressman Mike Waltz brought up the issue of the CCP buying private schools, if one can imagine
00:09:32.160 that in this country, and with it, some ROTC programs in certain cases. This is, we look like,
00:09:40.540 in my opinion, Congresswoman, a very, very either dull people or just unintelligent people or an
00:09:48.860 uncaring people. We are just getting outmaneuvered. I don't care whether it's in foreign policy on any
00:09:57.400 level. And then this administration starts focusing on bright, shiny objects like balloons floating over
00:10:05.460 from China, and the wheels really come off, if that isn't too much of a mixed metaphor. Your thoughts?
00:10:11.740 There's no question that the current administration pretty much fails at everything
00:10:18.460 that they've done. Now, I oftentimes refer to the federal government as always trying to fix its last
00:10:23.580 solution. You see that in things like Obamacare. And I mean, how often is it, well, we got to go back
00:10:30.960 in and fix what we just did. And some of what you're talking about is the same thing. What is unique about
00:10:36.640 this administration is that so many of the people involved in it have failed upward. And as a result,
00:10:42.820 they've continued to perpetuate the failures that they, that they're known for. But it also, it is,
00:10:49.780 it seems to me that whenever they have two choices, they always pick the wrong one. And it is, it is
00:10:55.700 mind boggling to me, as they say, that there, a stopped clock is right at least twice a day. And I don't
00:11:01.520 know that I can say that about this administration. But it, we do need to be watching very closely
00:11:09.160 what the CCP is doing, what other rogue countries are doing. You know, the Iran, why in the world
00:11:17.620 are we not doing more? If we want to take on the battle of freedom and liberty, why in the world are
00:11:23.780 we not looking more at trying to help the people who are fighting back against the brutal regime in
00:11:29.360 Iran? That's one that I have not understood why, why we kind of just seem to forget about the folks
00:11:35.620 that are really attempting to free the people of that country. But again, this administration seems
00:11:43.540 like it goes from crisis to crisis to crisis, and typically fails when it addresses them.
00:11:49.620 And it today, the, a lot of the left, in point of fact, the establishment media, corporate left wing
00:11:57.360 media, referring to President Biden, as a brain dead, his brain mush, dementia, some of the words
00:12:06.080 being used to describe him. We've been talking about the fact the man was impaired since he was running
00:12:11.720 for office in 2020. And to see this sort of late realization is breathtaking, because it really means
00:12:21.500 he's not going to be running for a second term, doesn't it?
00:12:24.440 Well, I don't know that I would use the word realization, because I think that they knew it
00:12:29.360 all the time. But just like John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, he served a purpose. So regardless
00:12:34.380 of his mental capacity at the time that he was running, or now, it was simply to get someone
00:12:39.480 elected who was other than Donald Trump, so that they could manipulate that person to do what they've
00:12:44.040 done. And look at the damage they have caused in two years, over four and a half million illegal aliens
00:12:50.040 crossing that border. I represent the least populated state in the nation, 560,000 people.
00:12:56.840 Over 10 times the population of the state of Wyoming has crossed that border illegally in the last two
00:13:01.820 years. We have a fentanyl crisis on our hands. 120,000 people died last year because of fentanyl.
00:13:08.380 We are in a soft war with the CCP, and we do not know to what extent Joe Biden, Jim Biden,
00:13:14.380 Hunter Biden, or anybody else are compromised because of their interaction with China and the
00:13:19.260 Chinese Communist Party during the last 40 to 50 years of Joe Biden's involvement in politics.
00:13:24.880 So there are lots of unanswered questions. But one of the things that the mainstream media did
00:13:29.200 is they covered up what was obvious to us, so that the few people that they needed to get to vote for
00:13:34.880 him would do so. And now we're paying the price and suffering the consequences.
00:13:38.580 No doubt about it. And you're exactly right. It is a realization. It is now an escape
00:13:47.060 for these folks from the man they created. And there is also, I'll just add this,
00:13:56.280 there's no question but what the wrong man is in the Oval Office at the White House. And it is
00:14:01.960 an effort to change history on the part of the Marxist Dems. And there is no reason to qualify
00:14:09.160 or posture any of that. It's just a fact. And you're working on one of the most, if not the
00:14:15.340 most important committee in Congress. And I think that is the Weaponization Committee to find out what
00:14:22.240 has happened to this government that is now, it's attacking the American people. And what is yours,
00:14:30.400 I may ask it this way, what is your assessment of how well you're doing in the early stages
00:14:35.300 getting positioned and the agenda unfolding?
00:14:40.600 Sunshine is the best disinfectant. It's a matter of exposing the corruption and exposing the bad
00:14:46.540 acts and the bad actors. So I have been appointed to the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the
00:14:52.060 Federal Government. I've been a trial attorney for 34 years, Lou. And the last 25 years, I've been
00:14:57.880 working pretty extensively against federal agencies and their effort to really persecute the free
00:15:04.360 citizens out here in flyover country. An example being a landowner that moved an irrigation ditch in
00:15:10.880 the EPA coming in and bringing a lawsuit against them claiming that that irrigation ditch was a
00:15:16.140 navigable water of the United States. And at one point, holding penalties of almost $65 million
00:15:22.160 over his head. We won. We had to go to trial to do it. But that's the kind of weaponization. That's
00:15:28.600 one aspect of weaponization. Another weapon area of weaponization is the surveillance. We don't
00:15:34.180 tolerate a surveillance state in this country. We shouldn't have a surveillance state. The Fourth
00:15:38.860 Amendment specifically prohibits it. We've got to get to the bottom of what's going on with them
00:15:43.720 listening in on our phone calls, accessing information through Facebook or Twitter or YouTube or the
00:15:49.580 other social media companies. And then another part of it is the First Amendment. So the first
00:15:54.100 hearing that we had on the Select Committee related to the FBI's efforts to shut down any discussion of
00:16:00.160 things such as the Hunter Biden laptop and their effort to go after Senators Johnson and Grassley,
00:16:05.940 what they did to former Representative Tulsi Gabbard, what they're continuing to do to try to prevent
00:16:12.460 people from exercising their First Amendment rights. I'm a constitutional absolutist. The First Amendment
00:16:17.860 says what it means and means what it says. The federal government can make no law abridging my
00:16:22.900 freedom of speech. Yet that's what these agencies do. We need to expose the corruption in the DOJ,
00:16:28.620 the FBI, the CIA, the NIH, the CDC, Anthony Fauci. We need to go agency by agency by agency by head of
00:16:37.940 agency by head of agency by head of agency and expose what they're doing in violation of our
00:16:42.680 constitutional rights. Congresswoman, I'd have slowed you down if I said amen every time I agreed
00:16:49.280 with something you said just then. And thank goodness I didn't do that. I happen to think
00:16:56.860 that you are bringing such energy and intellect to the Congress that we have another reason to be
00:17:05.380 very, very optimistic about where this country is headed in even these dark times. We always give
00:17:13.860 our guests the opportunity for including remarks, if you will, the last word on the podcast. I would
00:17:22.200 just like to say to you, I am hoping that that committee can get done what it must and that there
00:17:29.180 is no delusion on the part of anyone. I know Jim Jordan, I've known him for years. He is one of the
00:17:34.720 great Americans. I just hope that you all can be successful because the country, I truly believe
00:17:41.660 the country is riding on the outcome of what these House committees investigate and what they produce
00:17:47.140 for the American people. I'd like to see what your thought is on that issue before I turn it over to
00:17:51.980 you for your last thoughts. It is, I agree with you. I, at one point there was a discussion about
00:17:59.860 Jim Jordan being the Speaker of the House. And I said, why would we waste his talents that way?
00:18:05.060 And that's not a hit on the Speaker. You have to be very talented to be the Speaker. But the point
00:18:09.200 that I made is that this, the, our success two years from now in getting this country back on track
00:18:16.220 electorally in many ways runs through the Judiciary Committee and the Select Committee. We need to expose
00:18:22.420 the fact that our government has been weaponized against us. And in order to do that, we have to have
00:18:26.920 these hearings. But then the next step is to draft a legislation to make sure that it cannot happen
00:18:31.520 again. So these are committees that are to protect the civil rights and civil liberties and the freedoms
00:18:36.240 of every single citizen of this country. We should have the support of the American people. We do have
00:18:41.220 the support of the American people. And we've got people running scared in Washington, DC, and I'm glad
00:18:45.820 to see it. And I am, and I know the audiences as well. You're concluding thoughts, Congresswoman,
00:18:52.140 as we wrap up here. And what a joy it is to, to hear you talk.
00:18:57.640 Well, I'm sitting in Green River, Wyoming. And if you were to go to the Smithsonian,
00:19:01.780 the National Gallery of Art, one of the first paintings you will see when you walk in the door
00:19:06.220 is the painting by Thomas Moran of Green River, Wyoming. I encourage everyone to go and see that
00:19:12.200 and see how beautiful my beautiful state is. I'm traveling up to Jackson Hole today for meetings,
00:19:17.640 or to Pinedale for meetings today, and on to Jackson tomorrow. I'm continuing to travel around
00:19:23.640 the state, doing town halls, meeting with the people here, learning what the issues are for them.
00:19:28.060 I'm proud to represent Wyoming. I'm proud to represent my country, and I'm ready to take my
00:19:32.560 country back.
00:19:34.860 Hallelujah. Congresswoman, it's a delight. And by the way, I know exactly the state of Wyoming. I hunted and
00:19:44.240 fished through Pinedale and throughout the state. So God bless you. God bless Wyoming. And my gosh,
00:19:53.000 Wyoming is well, well represented. Thanks so much, Congresswoman, for being with us.
00:19:57.920 Thank you. Thanks, Lou. Thanks for having me.
00:20:00.120 Folks, as you can probably tell, I think the Congresswoman from Wyoming is a great addition
00:20:04.500 to the 118th Congress. Thanks, everybody, for being with us today. Our guest here tomorrow
00:20:09.360 is Judicial Watch's Chris Farrell. Please join us. Until then, thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.
