00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs, and welcome to The Great America Show.
00:00:04.780 Thanks for joining us today, and our guest today is Senator Roger Marshall.
00:00:09.140 He's an outstanding conservative senator from Kansas, also a physician and Army veteran.
00:00:15.840 Senator Marshall and his wife, Lena, live in Great Bend, Kansas.
00:00:19.440 They have four children, and Senator Marshall is, by any standard, a great American.
00:00:25.140 Welcome, Senator. It's great to have you with us, and I have to say,
00:00:28.320 but it's nice to know we have you and a few other doctors to offset that legion of attorneys on Capitol Hill,
00:00:35.000 the hundreds of lawyers in both the Senate and the House.
00:00:38.500 Thank you for joining us here on The Great America Show, Senator.
00:00:43.380 Yeah, Lou, it's great to be on The Great America Show. It's great to hear your voice.
00:00:46.580 I know we've got some great topics, and that was a common question I got.
00:00:51.480 You wouldn't call a doctor or a senator, and to be honest, I'm a first-generation college student,
00:00:56.540 and getting to go to medical school and graduate from there was just my American dream.
00:01:04.100 And as near as I know, doctors are more popular than politicians, so I better stick with that.
00:01:09.240 And I think some would argue a lot more essential.
00:01:14.400 We appreciate it.
00:01:15.600 We appreciate everything you're doing, both as a physician, as a servant of the people in the U.S. Senate.
00:01:23.140 And I want to turn to a couple of things that you have done now in which you've designated,
00:01:29.880 introduced a bill to designate the Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.
00:01:37.240 Tell us about how that came to be and how you formed that bill.
00:01:44.680 Right.
00:01:45.400 So, Lou, well, first of all, the cartels are terrorists.
00:01:49.360 They qualify under the definition by every – even a doctor like myself can figure that out.
00:01:55.500 But you probably know that Governor Abbott's been leading this fight,
00:01:58.360 and actually the state legislation in Texas has been asking this for 10 years to do this.
00:02:04.900 I've been to the border three times.
00:02:06.680 The last time I took five sheriff's officers from Kansas with me and constantly asking those folks,
00:02:12.240 what more tools can we give law enforcement down there?
00:02:16.460 And this is one of them.
00:02:17.900 It'll give the law enforcement officers more teeth, prosecutors more teeth,
00:02:21.980 and then it allows the U.S. Treasury to engage financially to freeze their assets as well.
00:02:27.380 So what really came about to me was just visiting with the local law enforcement officers down on the border,
00:02:33.000 who, by the way, are working their tail off.
00:02:35.140 My dad are law enforcement officers.
00:02:36.900 I have a lot of respect for what they're doing down there.
00:02:39.720 Well, I think most of us, I can – you know, it seems like we can only say most of us in this country right now,
00:02:45.720 though our divides are deep and they're vivid.
00:02:48.580 But I think most of us, by a great majority, support law enforcement, support national sovereignty,
00:02:56.100 and insist on law and order as a fundamental precept and value of this great nation.
00:03:04.620 So I'm delighted that you've done this and that you are pursuing that,
00:03:08.360 and to give them – to give law enforcement, to give our governors, our state governments,
00:03:13.920 all government at all level, the kinds of protections and powers that are necessary to deal with these drug cartels,
00:03:22.200 which – and I'm going to say this straightforwardly – they control both sides of that border.
00:03:29.080 You can argue about how far that extends, that conflict zone, if you will,
00:03:36.400 from the border north into the United States and from the border south into Mexico.
00:03:43.820 But the cartels are in charge of it all.
00:03:47.500 And right now, the level of illegal immigration is extraordinary.
00:03:51.920 The indifference to the suffering that results to the American people,
00:03:57.480 the damage by these – the criminal illegal immigrants among all of these is devastating.
00:04:06.100 Whether it's fentanyl, whether it's sex trafficking, this country –
00:04:10.340 this country has been tolerating all of this for far too long.
00:04:15.320 Don't you agree?
00:04:15.880 Well, Louie, absolutely.
00:04:18.720 And to your point, the cartel has an active presence in Kansas.
00:04:22.620 Again, I stay in close contact with all my sheriff's officers.
00:04:26.700 Even in Kansas City, Kansas, Johnson County, the cartel is alive and active.
00:04:32.380 And you have done your homework.
00:04:33.980 You must have been to the border yourself because the cartel literally has people up and down the border
00:04:38.980 greeting these people, stash houses, and then they're coordinating the human trafficking
00:04:43.760 along with the drugs as well.
00:04:46.440 And this is why I say that Kansas is now a border state, that we set at the intersections
00:04:50.960 of a north-south route, three arteries, main arteries coming from Texas through Kansas.
00:04:56.360 And then from there, they can break and go to Chicago or to San Francisco or New York as well.
00:05:02.100 But you're spot on.
00:05:03.420 We are making – this president has made the cartels gabillionaires.
00:05:07.560 I think we would be stunned to see how much money they're making.
00:05:10.600 And they're making more money from trafficking people through Mexico and getting them into
00:05:15.620 places like my hometown of Great Bend, Kansas, than they are from the drugs.
00:05:19.680 So that's how significant this is.
00:05:21.640 I don't know.
00:05:21.900 So like you said, three million people minimum have crossed the border illegally since this
00:05:27.220 president hit Culver.
00:05:28.460 And let's just say it's $10,000 a pop that the cartel is making.
00:05:32.700 And I'm not going to do the math without a calculator.
00:05:35.580 Too many zeros.
00:05:36.280 It is too many zeros, but the reality is we've heard numbers even higher than that, up to
00:05:45.020 $15,000.
00:05:47.440 And I'm sure it varies in sectors and so forth.
00:05:51.200 But it's an immense amount of money that we're talking about.
00:05:55.700 We're talking about billions of dollars just in the smuggling of illegal immigrants.
00:06:01.460 Add to that the smuggling of the poison that they're bringing across in the form of deadly
00:06:09.020 drugs, which they mean, and by the way, they're working in concert.
00:06:13.260 They, these drug cartel terrorists, are working with the Chinese to bring as much fentanyl that
00:06:22.000 kills 100,000, at bare minimum, Americans every year.
00:06:26.140 Now, the great sin to me is that this president is aligned with the cartels.
00:06:31.980 He's aligned with China.
00:06:33.680 He's aligned against the American people, against the American family, the American community.
00:06:40.700 My God, what does it take for people to wake up and understand what the Marxist Dems have
00:06:46.020 done in taking over our entire federal government?
00:06:51.880 Yeah, Lou, let's just talk about fentanyl poisoning for just a second.
00:06:55.420 And I want to emphasize, this is poisoning.
00:06:57.720 This is murder.
00:06:59.180 To your point, these drugs are, the precursors are manufactured in China.
00:07:04.100 They're brought to Mexico.
00:07:06.080 China has chemists working with the cartel to turn it into fentanyl, and then they bring
00:07:11.060 it across the border.
00:07:12.480 Again, I've witnessed this with my own eyes.
00:07:14.800 The cartels dump 100, 200 people with children across the river.
00:07:19.940 Our border patrol officers rally to save them.
00:07:22.680 Meanwhile, five miles down the river, the bad, bad guys, terrorists, along with the drugs,
00:07:27.600 are getting across.
00:07:29.100 Fentanyl poisoning, how does our president sleep at night?
00:07:31.520 Let's just describe how bad this is.
00:07:33.880 We've lost more Americans, mostly young adults, to fentanyl poisoning over the past year than
00:07:40.200 the entirety of the Vietnam War.
00:07:42.620 So think about that.
00:07:44.460 Over 75,000 fentanyl poisonings in the past year.
00:07:47.220 We lost 57,000 soldiers.
00:07:49.300 And I'm not belittling, and I honor those soldiers as well, making the ultimate sacrifice,
00:07:54.260 a veteran myself.
00:07:55.860 But how does the president sleep at night when he could stop this?
00:07:59.880 He absolutely could stop it by securing the border.
00:08:03.060 Every day in America, 200 or 300 people dying from fentanyl poisoning, and it's growing.
00:08:07.960 This Halloween, buyer beware, watch your kids, be on the lookout for this candied fentanyl
00:08:15.340 that looks like the sweet tarts that you and I grew up with, right, as well.
00:08:22.380 So this is a huge health epidemic.
00:08:26.620 Meanwhile, this president's focused on COVID, which we have.
00:08:29.840 We are relatively under control, but this is the big concern right now for young adults
00:08:33.600 and our high school, college age students.
00:08:36.540 A huge concern.
00:08:38.200 And by the way, it's killing more people age 18 to 45 than any other cause right now.
00:08:46.080 And we know for a fact that the numbers are understated for fentanyl deaths.
00:08:51.580 107,000 was the estimate early on.
00:08:55.500 We know that, as you know, the number of deaths caused by fentanyl are well understated.
00:09:02.840 And the problem can't be overstated.
00:09:06.060 This is a national crisis.
00:09:08.620 And this is a president who, as impaired as he is, as incompetent as he is mentally,
00:09:18.000 he has to be held and the Dems have to be held responsible for the Marxist cartels
00:09:24.280 that are driving this presidency and the Democratic Party.
00:09:26.980 I have to say to you, Senator, I don't know how any person with a conscience who understands
00:09:33.400 right from wrong, who values this great constitutional republic, could possibly vote Democrat ever
00:09:40.100 again in their lives after what we've seen this party become.
00:09:44.000 Your reaction?
00:09:45.960 Well, Lou, certainly I do think the Calvary is coming.
00:09:49.720 I do think it's going to be a tsunami.
00:09:51.320 We see what's happened in the Italian election, in the Great Britain election, the Swedish election.
00:09:56.980 Even these socialist countries are saying our safety and security is a priority.
00:10:01.280 The number one national security issue right now, today, for America is our southern border.
00:10:07.540 And I cannot go back home without people talking to me about the safety and the security of their families.
00:10:13.780 Certainly the cost of gas and groceries is right up there as well.
00:10:18.520 We've done over 100 town halls now since I was elected to the Senate two years ago.
00:10:23.900 We're five counties short of completing that circuit, and we'll get that done soon.
00:10:27.940 But this is absolutely on everyone's mind.
00:10:30.160 And I think the closer we get to November, that we're going to see that that election is a referendum on Joe Biden
00:10:35.920 and his Marxist socialist policies, that he's obviously he's driving up inflation.
00:10:41.380 His policies are what created inflation, this recession.
00:10:45.020 It's why we have this fentanyl poisoning epidemic.
00:10:47.400 This is why your families are not safe and secure.
00:10:50.120 I'm doing everything I can up here to put my fingers in the dikes of this fentanyl poisoning issue.
00:10:55.700 But meanwhile, every day the president is opening up another floodgate.
00:11:00.100 It's that simple.
00:11:01.460 It is.
00:11:02.740 You mentioned floodgates.
00:11:04.400 I mean, that is just why it's it's relentless what the Marxist Dems are driving.
00:11:10.160 And I purposely call this party the Marxist Dems because they are without question following Marxist doctrine and ideology in what they're doing in education,
00:11:20.900 what they're doing to the American family, what they are in every aspect of their governance.
00:11:28.420 They are Marxist in both tone and character and content of their policies, as well as legislation.
00:11:37.760 We're looking at an administration, as you well know, that has driven the national debt up over thirty one trillion dollars and headed higher,
00:11:50.160 added ten trillion dollars in federal spending in the course of two years for crying out loud.
00:11:54.900 We see another application for more money now to to send to Ukraine without explanation.
00:12:02.240 As we are watching terrorists amongst those illegal immigrants crossing that border, many of them, Venezuela, for example,
00:12:10.440 emptying its its jails and sending those felons, dangerous felons to our southern border with the full cooperation, by the way, of Mexico.
00:12:19.240 Let no one mistake this.
00:12:20.640 Mexico is our next big, big foreign policy issue because they will have to be stopped.
00:12:28.800 And I think there is no doubt that Manuel Lopez Obrador means for his policies to prevail rather than ours.
00:12:37.660 And he will do whatever is necessary to to follow the cartels and their interest, which is exactly what he's doing now.
00:12:45.980 Well, that means either we defend that border or we might as well simply turn over and raise a Mexican flag over the southwest.
00:12:56.440 Well, a lot to unpack there.
00:12:58.400 Let's talk about spending for a second.
00:12:59.960 Thirty one trillion dollars of national debt.
00:13:02.840 This continuing resolution now that that's before us.
00:13:06.520 We had a procedural vote Tuesday night, and then we're going to vote on final passage here very, very soon as well.
00:13:14.320 And to your point, another 20, 30, 20 billion dollars of inflationary spending more to Ukraine.
00:13:21.260 Look, of course, we want the best for Ukraine.
00:13:24.060 We want to help them.
00:13:25.380 We've already given them over 40 billion dollars.
00:13:27.720 The rest of the world, I'm going to guess, is given 10 or 15 billion dollars.
00:13:32.440 All we've asked for was 25 billion dollars to secure the border.
00:13:37.400 If you recall, President Trump and DHS asked for 25 billion dollars to secure the border, and Nancy Pelosi said no to that.
00:13:45.600 I would take the 25 billion dollars.
00:13:47.940 Now, that's where my priority is, but we don't need more inflationary spending.
00:13:52.700 I want to go back to this Marxist socialist policy you're describing as well.
00:13:57.000 This president uses emergency declarations to usurp powers, our constitutional rights from us, and that's why we're trying to end those emergency declarations.
00:14:09.100 So the president uses those to justify his inflationary spending, and he uses them to enforce unconstitutional mandates, like vaccine mandates, mask mandates are still in place.
00:14:21.600 Our kids in the Head Start programs, these are, what, three- and four-year-olds, are still required to wear masks.
00:14:28.060 Our military is still required to get vaccines when 95 percent of Americans have some form of immunization already.
00:14:36.920 It is a Marxist policy.
00:14:39.140 This absolute power has corrupted this president.
00:14:41.980 He won't let go of these emergency powers.
00:14:44.300 That's why even yesterday on the floor, we had a unanimous consent bill to end these, and the Democrats objected.
00:14:52.580 Well, of course, you know, that's who they are.
00:14:55.180 These are Marxist Dems.
00:14:56.620 These are not, you know, the Republican Party has a lot of rhinos, Republicans in name only.
00:15:02.180 They're actually Democrats, but the Republicans, because they have an R by their name, prefer to call them Republicans.
00:15:08.960 They are rhinos in name only, Republicans, and there's no balance in that, is there?
00:15:16.460 Can you tell me if there's such a thing as a dyno, Democrat in name only?
00:15:21.060 Because I think it's odd that we have those rhinos and seem to be proud of it, and they don't have any dynos.
00:15:28.880 Now, there's a dyno gap here, and it's also a gap in cognitive power between the two parties,
00:15:36.440 because the Democrats are obviously smart enough to make certain that all of those people who have those d's next to their name
00:15:43.960 are united, committed to one another and to their agenda.
00:15:49.020 And even though that agenda, in my judgment, is perfidy and demonic, as well as Marxist,
00:15:57.280 if they're not entirely synonymous,
00:15:59.060 it's outrageous that the Republican Party is governed by louts and the Democrat Party is governed by community organizers
00:16:11.060 and activists of the highest possible experience and talent, and they are taking the Republican Party to school.
00:16:18.360 And unfortunately, they're taking the United States of America to hell.
00:16:22.040 Well, Lou, I'm going to stick up for my fellow people.
00:16:28.080 Remember, President Reagan said, don't speak ill will of your fellow Republicans.
00:16:31.540 We have stuck together.
00:16:33.700 We were able to gut this first continuing resolution.
00:16:37.020 We took Joe Manchin's horrible permitting bill out that would have been inflationary
00:16:41.440 and really hurt the oil and gas industry as well.
00:16:44.860 We rolled them back from $50 billion of extra spending to $20 billion.
00:16:48.900 We've actually stuck together pretty solid.
00:16:52.120 I can't speak to the Democrat Party.
00:16:54.640 Certainly, there's very few people in the middle anymore.
00:16:57.480 I think both parties have leaned further left and further right.
00:17:01.240 But again, let's talk about the future.
00:17:03.440 That's why this election is so important.
00:17:05.620 You know, people talk a big game, but we do need folks to get out and vote,
00:17:09.140 and there's plenty of reasons to get out to vote.
00:17:11.940 Whether you want to stop inflation, you want your families to be safer,
00:17:15.220 if you want local control of your schools, then people need to get out and vote,
00:17:19.580 realizing that all these Democrats that are running as moderates,
00:17:24.440 as soon as they get here, they're going to be puppets of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
00:17:29.860 Regardless of what happens, we've got two more years of Joe Biden.
00:17:33.000 We're stuck with him.
00:17:34.300 Even though he probably couldn't pass a cognitive test, we're stuck with him for right now.
00:17:38.680 So we've got to get out and give us every fighter that we can and paint these Democrats for who they are.
00:17:45.360 They want abortion up until the time before the baby is born.
00:17:49.700 They want to federalize elections.
00:17:51.720 They want open borders.
00:17:52.880 That's just people ask me, why won't Joe Biden fix the border?
00:17:55.880 He wants this open border.
00:17:58.000 Why won't Joe Biden fix gas prices?
00:18:00.420 He wants $5 a gallon gasoline, because otherwise electric cars don't even compare to the cost of operation.
00:18:07.560 So we've got plenty to fight for up here.
00:18:10.540 This is a national crisis, a national emergency, because our nation's existence in this election is what is at stake, Senator, in my judgment.
00:18:22.020 Your thoughts, and then we'll move on.
00:18:26.140 I can assure you that we wake up every day here trying to win the war, not just the battle.
00:18:32.100 If I'll be back home for town halls and people will say, why does Susan Collins vote such and such?
00:18:38.220 And I'll tell them, you know, Susan Collins is going to be the last Republican senator from Maine.
00:18:42.580 And she's trying her best to represent her constituency.
00:18:45.960 So we do have Republican senators that are from purple states.
00:18:50.740 And I think that they have to have some responsibility there as well.
00:18:54.460 Well, all I can tell you is we as a – I do feel that our caucus, and we're having lunch together every – three days a week we're having lunch together.
00:19:03.320 I've never seen us so close.
00:19:05.500 I've never seen us so committed to protecting the values that we grew up on.
00:19:12.160 We're not perfect.
00:19:13.220 I think that we are a reflection of America, and I'm just ever optimistic that we're going to move in the right direction.
00:19:20.000 I still believe America is this bright, shining city on a hill that we're still the beacon of hope and a champion for life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.
00:19:27.700 I'm preaching to the choir here, Lou, but I still believe in our caucus.
00:19:31.160 I believe that we're going in the right direction.
00:19:34.640 I hope so.
00:19:35.640 Would you call yourself America first?
00:19:40.000 Absolutely, I would.
00:19:41.980 And I'm an American first as much as anything.
00:19:45.280 I'm more of an American first than I am a Republican.
00:19:48.880 I think, you know, being a patriot, being a former military officer, the son of a father who was served in the military, whose uncles, great uncles, went to Normandy Beach, absolutely I'm an American first.
00:20:01.000 I don't begrudge any other country anything.
00:20:03.380 I wish them well, but not at the cost of my family's safety or their financial security.
00:20:10.160 I think that there's a place for trade, but absolutely I'm an American first, absolutely.
00:20:16.200 I'm going to try to put you on the spot then.
00:20:19.180 Do you believe Mitch McConnell is America first?
00:20:23.220 I do, Lou, and I know you and I are going to disagree with this.
00:20:27.240 No one is more committed than Mitch is to keeping a majority, and I think that he is doing everything.
00:20:33.100 He can to make that happen, and I know that you disagree with him often, but he plays the long game.
00:20:40.560 And no more than a person waking up, you know, the day after my Chiefs lost their football game last week, we have all the solutions.
00:20:48.040 I truly believe he's a great patriot and an American first.
00:20:52.440 And he's playing a four-dimensional chess game where time is indeed the fourth dimension.
00:20:58.900 Well, time is a dimension that is dwindling.
00:21:02.360 And it is an element within that fourth-level world that you're talking about that I think is also very opaque and certainly not obvious,
00:21:15.340 because we're looking at a president who is impaired, incompetent, and I think you would agree, unfit for the office he holds.
00:21:24.800 Why is it that the Republican Party is content to even contemplate leaving him in that office for another two years?
00:21:36.140 Why isn't there a national discussion and insistence?
00:21:40.340 Whatever happened to the idea that the Republican Party can be the home of the middle class working man and woman and have their voices heard in Washington?
00:21:50.080 We know still corporate America, though it's moved to the left and is just as Marxist as the Democratic Party seems to be now.
00:21:59.500 It is—who is being reflected there?
00:22:02.880 Is it the 71 percent of the country that still wants Donald Trump to be president, Republicans, that is?
00:22:09.820 Is it the—you know, the country understands that the loan forgiveness will cost something like a trillion dollars, not 400 or 500 billion.
00:22:20.080 It's going to cost about a trillion dollars.
00:22:22.420 And there was still a discussion around continuing resolutions instead of acting on budgets.
00:22:27.660 And by the way, leaving this as a opportunity for a lame duck, if indeed the Republicans were to win the House,
00:22:37.520 a lame duck session to make a decision on the budget is outrageous, don't you think?
00:22:45.720 Absolutely, Lou, and that's why I voted against the continuing resolution, and I'm going to continue to vote against it,
00:22:52.880 is because it does end in the middle of December rather than going on into January when we can then have—
00:22:59.720 surely Kevin McCarthy can give us a better budget than what this one is going to look like as well.
00:23:06.160 I want to go back to this working class.
00:23:08.360 Lou, the Republicans have become the party of the working class.
00:23:11.900 If you would join me, I am now welcome in union halls in Wichita, Kansas, aerospace union halls.
00:23:21.340 The pilots and the people that keep us safe and the security folks at the airports, all those people, those unions, we have become their party.
00:23:31.680 They're the ones that are being crushed by Joe Biden's inflation.
00:23:34.560 Those are the people that are being crushed, but they don't feel safe and secure at home.
00:23:39.520 These are the people that want to control their schools and don't want Joe Biden controlling their schools.
00:23:44.600 So we are becoming that party, and we're going to continue to reach out to those folks.
00:23:49.640 You know, again, my dad was a police officer.
00:23:51.660 I'm from that working class people, and I think more and more senators being elected,
00:23:55.580 Congress members are from that working class rather than the elite lawyers that you referred to earlier.
00:24:01.020 Well, and I'm proud of you for that.
00:24:04.740 I also come from a working class family and have been fortunate with all that this country has given me and my family.
00:24:15.060 And I want that, you know, for my grandchildren as well.
00:24:19.100 And I know that everyone listening to us does.
00:24:22.500 What people are trying to figure out is why the Republican Party isn't hammering this president and this Marxist Democratic Party for the rampant inflation.
00:24:34.180 The fact that we are now in recession, two consecutive quarters of recession.
00:24:39.640 We are watching the middle class in this country, working men and women, entrepreneurs, small business in particular, are being hammered by these policies.
00:24:48.760 And we hear from the Republicans, basically crickets.
00:24:53.780 It's as if they're content to go into this election hoping that they don't say anything to offend one vote when they should, it seems to me, at least.
00:25:04.320 And I know you are, by the way.
00:25:05.920 I want to be very clear.
00:25:07.540 One of the reasons you're on this show is because I know who you are and what you're doing for this country and applaud you and support you.
00:25:15.760 But there are too many people who are simply, I find it unconscionable that not one single Democrat, you can argue Joe Manchin, but that gets to be a whole other discussion.
00:25:27.300 There's not one single Democrat stepping forward to be a moderate to say, you know, my party is wrong.
00:25:34.700 This is evil.
00:25:35.520 When we start supporting indoctrination of children in the second grade and gender and sex classes, when we support the idea of CRT, ESG, IED in our corporations, in our schools, our universities, we are indoctrinating a nation to be Marxist, not Americans.
00:26:03.780 And we have to understand that in its totality, this is already frightening to a group of people, our American middle class, who are being told they're racist, who are being told it doesn't matter, that their gas prices are now almost double what they were, that they have to buy an electric car or they're an enemy of the state, that they have to accept an impaired president who is a prop and a puppet,
00:26:29.340 and pretend that everything is okay, even as the country is in recession, and oh yes, you get to have inflation for as far as the eye can see, and don't mind that $8 trillion that just got ripped out of the stock market.
00:26:43.320 Your thoughts?
00:26:45.580 Yeah, Lou, maybe let's talk about inflation.
00:26:48.700 Let's just drill down that just a second.
00:26:50.120 I do think that we have a message out there that we are the party that can solve inflation.
00:26:54.660 And really, this is not brain surgery.
00:26:57.040 It is really re-implementing the economic policies of Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan.
00:27:02.220 It is just that simple.
00:27:04.080 The number one thing we have to do is slow down the government spending.
00:27:07.400 But beyond that, when you look at inflation, it's always led with energy prices.
00:27:12.000 So energy accounts for about a third of inflation.
00:27:14.700 Groceries may be 20% and housing 20%.
00:27:17.400 So this is my concern right now.
00:27:20.040 People say, oh, how long is this inflation going to last?
00:27:23.180 I see no end in sight because this president is doubling down on his energy policies, which decrease the supply of energy.
00:27:29.900 When it comes to groceries, this president has declared war on American farmers with his energy policies and his green religion that he has going on.
00:27:39.600 And the housing costs are going to rocket because he's disrupted the supply of labor, that we don't have people.
00:27:46.240 We're paying people more to stay at home than to go to work.
00:27:49.480 Right now, a family of four in America can easily get $45,000 of federal aid tax-free, free health care, free housing, free medicines, free food.
00:28:00.240 So it would take a family making $60,000 a year just to come even after taxes to what the wards of the state are making.
00:28:10.540 In Kansas, that's probably an average salary, believe it or not.
00:28:13.320 $60,000, $70,000 a year is an average salary for a working family in Kansas where you can raise two kids and maybe have a BAS vote.
00:28:22.020 So that's the policies that we are focusing on.
00:28:25.600 We do have solutions.
00:28:27.240 And, again, it's not rocket science.
00:28:29.140 This is simply re-implementing President Trump's economic policies.
00:28:34.580 We had the greatest economy in my professional lifetime under Donald Trump, and now we have the worst.
00:28:41.860 It's straightforward, isn't it?
00:28:43.580 And yet, and I'm going to go back to your friend Mitch McConnell.
00:28:46.860 He never once stood up for President Trump.
00:28:49.780 He never stood up for Republican values.
00:28:52.580 As President Trump was persecuted for six and now in its seventh year of political persecution, he never once stood up for him or stood with him.
00:29:02.320 Even though you can walk into the RNC, the Republican National Committee, and never see a picture of Donald Trump.
00:29:10.620 71% of American Republicans, Republicans, Americans all, but 71% of Republicans want him to be the candidate in 2024.
00:29:22.600 I am so proud of you to give President Trump credit for what he contributed to this country.
00:29:30.320 I think he's one of the most powerful presidential figures in this country's history.
00:29:35.500 Certainly, I think, the greatest president in his first four years.
00:29:39.340 And I look forward to his second, obviously, in 2024's election.
00:29:45.760 I want to give you the opportunity, as we all do, all our guests, for your concluding thoughts here.
00:29:52.480 I applaud everything you're doing, Senator.
00:29:54.900 And I want to say particularly about the bill that you were co-sponsoring with Representative Nels to introduce the Angel Family Bill, helping family members of those killed by illegal immigrants in the country.
00:30:11.660 That is, to me, very important.
00:30:14.200 And by the way, you mentioned I've been to the border.
00:30:16.600 I've been to the border.
00:30:17.940 I've lived on the border.
00:30:19.120 And I started my career as a journalist on the border.
00:30:22.240 So, yes, I've been to the border, and I know the depth, the level, and the breadth, and the toxicity, and the latent poison that is imbued throughout that border.
00:30:37.980 And it's been there for 50 years, I'm sorry to say.
00:30:41.700 You get the last word, and I promise that that will be the last word.
00:30:47.600 Okay, Lou.
00:30:48.500 Well, truly, it has been an honor.
00:30:50.400 And the great thing is, is that you and I can have a discussion, and I think we use your wisdom and my wisdom and people around us, and we come up with the very best of solutions.
00:30:59.840 So I appreciate a platform to have this discussion.
00:31:03.520 I am proud of this Angel Families legislation.
00:31:07.460 Again, this is something President Trump started.
00:31:09.500 He had this program called Voice, the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office that he started to help support these Angel Families who lost a loved one because of an illegal immigrant, whether it was from drunk and driving or worse as well.
00:31:25.780 So we're going to try to codify that and bring it back into legislation.
00:31:30.260 But at the end of the day, this whole conversation, what's important to me is that America remains that shining city on a hill.
00:31:38.640 And the only way it does it is if there's a change this November, that this election is absolutely a referendum on Joe Biden, that he is responsible for the increased cost of gas, groceries, and housing, that he is responsible for the open border, for the murder of hundreds of Americans every day from fentanyl.
00:31:59.200 And he is responsible for our kids' education going the wrong way.
00:32:05.220 He took a year of education from our kids by locking them out of schools, and now he wants to force a policy that would not be consistent with American values.
00:32:15.900 And I'm going to do everything I can to preserve those traditional American-first values, values like faith, family, community, education, and hard work.
00:32:24.620 What's important to me or what my dad taught me is to have a faith that you wear in your heart, not your shirt sleeve, that you have a family that loves you no matter what, that communities can best solve the problems if we keep government out of the way, that hard work is not a dirty word, and that this country was founded on hard work and innovation.
00:32:44.320 And lastly, education, controlled locally, is the great equalizer in this nation, that in America, you can still be anything you want to be if you're willing to work hard.
00:32:56.300 And we're the luckiest people.
00:32:57.960 I'm the luckiest person in the world to have been born in this country, and I'm just so grateful.
00:33:02.400 And I hope, like you and I talked earlier, I want to see my kids and grandkids have the same opportunity that I've had.
00:33:08.940 And I can assure you, I've just begun the fight.
00:33:12.000 Thanks, Lou.
00:33:12.540 It's great to be on with you.
00:33:14.320 Senator Roger Marshall, great American, and God bless you.
00:33:20.720 Thanks, everybody, for being with us today.
00:33:22.980 Here tomorrow, our guest will be attorney Ty Clevenger.
00:33:26.400 Clevenger is a defense attorney and the president of the Transparency Project, a watchdog group seeking to inform the public of much that our government wants to keep hidden from our prying eyes and curious minds.
00:33:39.900 Clevenger has just won a big ruling on evidence surrounding the Seth Rich laptop.
00:33:46.040 That's here tomorrow.
00:33:48.560 Please join us, and until then, God bless you, and may God bless America.
