Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) is a physician and Army veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He has been a member of the Kansas House of Representatives since 1987 and has been in the Senate since 2006. Senator Marshall is a dedicated advocate for law and order and law enforcement. He is also a champion of law enforcement efforts against the Mexican drug cartels and has introduced a bill to designate the cartels as terrorist organizations.
00:11:04.400I mean, that is just why it's it's relentless what the Marxist Dems are driving.
00:11:10.160And I purposely call this party the Marxist Dems because they are without question following Marxist doctrine and ideology in what they're doing in education,
00:11:20.900what they're doing to the American family, what they are in every aspect of their governance.
00:11:28.420They are Marxist in both tone and character and content of their policies, as well as legislation.
00:11:37.760We're looking at an administration, as you well know, that has driven the national debt up over thirty one trillion dollars and headed higher,
00:11:50.160added ten trillion dollars in federal spending in the course of two years for crying out loud.
00:11:54.900We see another application for more money now to to send to Ukraine without explanation.
00:12:02.240As we are watching terrorists amongst those illegal immigrants crossing that border, many of them, Venezuela, for example,
00:12:10.440emptying its its jails and sending those felons, dangerous felons to our southern border with the full cooperation, by the way, of Mexico.
00:13:47.940Now, that's where my priority is, but we don't need more inflationary spending.
00:13:52.700I want to go back to this Marxist socialist policy you're describing as well.
00:13:57.000This president uses emergency declarations to usurp powers, our constitutional rights from us, and that's why we're trying to end those emergency declarations.
00:14:09.100So the president uses those to justify his inflationary spending, and he uses them to enforce unconstitutional mandates, like vaccine mandates, mask mandates are still in place.
00:14:21.600Our kids in the Head Start programs, these are, what, three- and four-year-olds, are still required to wear masks.
00:14:28.060Our military is still required to get vaccines when 95 percent of Americans have some form of immunization already.
00:18:00.420He wants $5 a gallon gasoline, because otherwise electric cars don't even compare to the cost of operation.
00:18:07.560So we've got plenty to fight for up here.
00:18:10.540This is a national crisis, a national emergency, because our nation's existence in this election is what is at stake, Senator, in my judgment.
00:18:22.020Your thoughts, and then we'll move on.
00:18:26.140I can assure you that we wake up every day here trying to win the war, not just the battle.
00:18:32.100If I'll be back home for town halls and people will say, why does Susan Collins vote such and such?
00:18:38.220And I'll tell them, you know, Susan Collins is going to be the last Republican senator from Maine.
00:18:42.580And she's trying her best to represent her constituency.
00:18:45.960So we do have Republican senators that are from purple states.
00:18:50.740And I think that they have to have some responsibility there as well.
00:18:54.460Well, all I can tell you is we as a – I do feel that our caucus, and we're having lunch together every – three days a week we're having lunch together.
00:19:13.220I think that we are a reflection of America, and I'm just ever optimistic that we're going to move in the right direction.
00:19:20.000I still believe America is this bright, shining city on a hill that we're still the beacon of hope and a champion for life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.
00:19:27.700I'm preaching to the choir here, Lou, but I still believe in our caucus.
00:19:31.160I believe that we're going in the right direction.
00:19:41.980And I'm an American first as much as anything.
00:19:45.280I'm more of an American first than I am a Republican.
00:19:48.880I think, you know, being a patriot, being a former military officer, the son of a father who was served in the military, whose uncles, great uncles, went to Normandy Beach, absolutely I'm an American first.
00:20:01.000I don't begrudge any other country anything.
00:20:03.380I wish them well, but not at the cost of my family's safety or their financial security.
00:20:10.160I think that there's a place for trade, but absolutely I'm an American first, absolutely.
00:20:16.200I'm going to try to put you on the spot then.
00:20:19.180Do you believe Mitch McConnell is America first?
00:20:23.220I do, Lou, and I know you and I are going to disagree with this.
00:20:27.240No one is more committed than Mitch is to keeping a majority, and I think that he is doing everything.
00:20:33.100He can to make that happen, and I know that you disagree with him often, but he plays the long game.
00:20:40.560And no more than a person waking up, you know, the day after my Chiefs lost their football game last week, we have all the solutions.
00:20:48.040I truly believe he's a great patriot and an American first.
00:20:52.440And he's playing a four-dimensional chess game where time is indeed the fourth dimension.
00:20:58.900Well, time is a dimension that is dwindling.
00:21:02.360And it is an element within that fourth-level world that you're talking about that I think is also very opaque and certainly not obvious,
00:21:15.340because we're looking at a president who is impaired, incompetent, and I think you would agree, unfit for the office he holds.
00:21:24.800Why is it that the Republican Party is content to even contemplate leaving him in that office for another two years?
00:21:36.140Why isn't there a national discussion and insistence?
00:21:40.340Whatever happened to the idea that the Republican Party can be the home of the middle class working man and woman and have their voices heard in Washington?
00:21:50.080We know still corporate America, though it's moved to the left and is just as Marxist as the Democratic Party seems to be now.
00:22:02.880Is it the 71 percent of the country that still wants Donald Trump to be president, Republicans, that is?
00:22:09.820Is it the—you know, the country understands that the loan forgiveness will cost something like a trillion dollars, not 400 or 500 billion.
00:22:20.080It's going to cost about a trillion dollars.
00:22:22.420And there was still a discussion around continuing resolutions instead of acting on budgets.
00:22:27.660And by the way, leaving this as a opportunity for a lame duck, if indeed the Republicans were to win the House,
00:22:37.520a lame duck session to make a decision on the budget is outrageous, don't you think?
00:22:45.720Absolutely, Lou, and that's why I voted against the continuing resolution, and I'm going to continue to vote against it,
00:22:52.880is because it does end in the middle of December rather than going on into January when we can then have—
00:22:59.720surely Kevin McCarthy can give us a better budget than what this one is going to look like as well.
00:23:06.160I want to go back to this working class.
00:23:08.360Lou, the Republicans have become the party of the working class.
00:23:11.900If you would join me, I am now welcome in union halls in Wichita, Kansas, aerospace union halls.
00:23:21.340The pilots and the people that keep us safe and the security folks at the airports, all those people, those unions, we have become their party.
00:23:31.680They're the ones that are being crushed by Joe Biden's inflation.
00:23:34.560Those are the people that are being crushed, but they don't feel safe and secure at home.
00:23:39.520These are the people that want to control their schools and don't want Joe Biden controlling their schools.
00:23:44.600So we are becoming that party, and we're going to continue to reach out to those folks.
00:23:49.640You know, again, my dad was a police officer.
00:23:51.660I'm from that working class people, and I think more and more senators being elected,
00:23:55.580Congress members are from that working class rather than the elite lawyers that you referred to earlier.
00:24:04.740I also come from a working class family and have been fortunate with all that this country has given me and my family.
00:24:15.060And I want that, you know, for my grandchildren as well.
00:24:19.100And I know that everyone listening to us does.
00:24:22.500What people are trying to figure out is why the Republican Party isn't hammering this president and this Marxist Democratic Party for the rampant inflation.
00:24:34.180The fact that we are now in recession, two consecutive quarters of recession.
00:24:39.640We are watching the middle class in this country, working men and women, entrepreneurs, small business in particular, are being hammered by these policies.
00:24:48.760And we hear from the Republicans, basically crickets.
00:24:53.780It's as if they're content to go into this election hoping that they don't say anything to offend one vote when they should, it seems to me, at least.
00:25:07.540One of the reasons you're on this show is because I know who you are and what you're doing for this country and applaud you and support you.
00:25:15.760But there are too many people who are simply, I find it unconscionable that not one single Democrat, you can argue Joe Manchin, but that gets to be a whole other discussion.
00:25:27.300There's not one single Democrat stepping forward to be a moderate to say, you know, my party is wrong.
00:25:35.520When we start supporting indoctrination of children in the second grade and gender and sex classes, when we support the idea of CRT, ESG, IED in our corporations, in our schools, our universities, we are indoctrinating a nation to be Marxist, not Americans.
00:26:03.780And we have to understand that in its totality, this is already frightening to a group of people, our American middle class, who are being told they're racist, who are being told it doesn't matter, that their gas prices are now almost double what they were, that they have to buy an electric car or they're an enemy of the state, that they have to accept an impaired president who is a prop and a puppet,
00:26:29.340and pretend that everything is okay, even as the country is in recession, and oh yes, you get to have inflation for as far as the eye can see, and don't mind that $8 trillion that just got ripped out of the stock market.
00:27:20.040People say, oh, how long is this inflation going to last?
00:27:23.180I see no end in sight because this president is doubling down on his energy policies, which decrease the supply of energy.
00:27:29.900When it comes to groceries, this president has declared war on American farmers with his energy policies and his green religion that he has going on.
00:27:39.600And the housing costs are going to rocket because he's disrupted the supply of labor, that we don't have people.
00:27:46.240We're paying people more to stay at home than to go to work.
00:27:49.480Right now, a family of four in America can easily get $45,000 of federal aid tax-free, free health care, free housing, free medicines, free food.
00:28:00.240So it would take a family making $60,000 a year just to come even after taxes to what the wards of the state are making.
00:28:10.540In Kansas, that's probably an average salary, believe it or not.
00:28:13.320$60,000, $70,000 a year is an average salary for a working family in Kansas where you can raise two kids and maybe have a BAS vote.
00:28:22.020So that's the policies that we are focusing on.
00:28:43.580And yet, and I'm going to go back to your friend Mitch McConnell.
00:28:46.860He never once stood up for President Trump.
00:28:49.780He never stood up for Republican values.
00:28:52.580As President Trump was persecuted for six and now in its seventh year of political persecution, he never once stood up for him or stood with him.
00:29:02.320Even though you can walk into the RNC, the Republican National Committee, and never see a picture of Donald Trump.
00:29:10.62071% of American Republicans, Republicans, Americans all, but 71% of Republicans want him to be the candidate in 2024.
00:29:22.600I am so proud of you to give President Trump credit for what he contributed to this country.
00:29:30.320I think he's one of the most powerful presidential figures in this country's history.
00:29:35.500Certainly, I think, the greatest president in his first four years.
00:29:39.340And I look forward to his second, obviously, in 2024's election.
00:29:45.760I want to give you the opportunity, as we all do, all our guests, for your concluding thoughts here.
00:29:54.900And I want to say particularly about the bill that you were co-sponsoring with Representative Nels to introduce the Angel Family Bill, helping family members of those killed by illegal immigrants in the country.
00:30:19.120And I started my career as a journalist on the border.
00:30:22.240So, yes, I've been to the border, and I know the depth, the level, and the breadth, and the toxicity, and the latent poison that is imbued throughout that border.
00:30:37.980And it's been there for 50 years, I'm sorry to say.
00:30:41.700You get the last word, and I promise that that will be the last word.
00:30:50.400And the great thing is, is that you and I can have a discussion, and I think we use your wisdom and my wisdom and people around us, and we come up with the very best of solutions.
00:30:59.840So I appreciate a platform to have this discussion.
00:31:03.520I am proud of this Angel Families legislation.
00:31:07.460Again, this is something President Trump started.
00:31:09.500He had this program called Voice, the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office that he started to help support these Angel Families who lost a loved one because of an illegal immigrant, whether it was from drunk and driving or worse as well.
00:31:25.780So we're going to try to codify that and bring it back into legislation.
00:31:30.260But at the end of the day, this whole conversation, what's important to me is that America remains that shining city on a hill.
00:31:38.640And the only way it does it is if there's a change this November, that this election is absolutely a referendum on Joe Biden, that he is responsible for the increased cost of gas, groceries, and housing, that he is responsible for the open border, for the murder of hundreds of Americans every day from fentanyl.
00:31:59.200And he is responsible for our kids' education going the wrong way.
00:32:05.220He took a year of education from our kids by locking them out of schools, and now he wants to force a policy that would not be consistent with American values.
00:32:15.900And I'm going to do everything I can to preserve those traditional American-first values, values like faith, family, community, education, and hard work.
00:32:24.620What's important to me or what my dad taught me is to have a faith that you wear in your heart, not your shirt sleeve, that you have a family that loves you no matter what, that communities can best solve the problems if we keep government out of the way, that hard work is not a dirty word, and that this country was founded on hard work and innovation.
00:32:44.320And lastly, education, controlled locally, is the great equalizer in this nation, that in America, you can still be anything you want to be if you're willing to work hard.
00:33:14.320Senator Roger Marshall, great American, and God bless you.
00:33:20.720Thanks, everybody, for being with us today.
00:33:22.980Here tomorrow, our guest will be attorney Ty Clevenger.
00:33:26.400Clevenger is a defense attorney and the president of the Transparency Project, a watchdog group seeking to inform the public of much that our government wants to keep hidden from our prying eyes and curious minds.
00:33:39.900Clevenger has just won a big ruling on evidence surrounding the Seth Rich laptop.
