00:00:00.000Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, July 7th.
00:00:04.860Happy Tuesday, folks. I hope you're all having a great day and enjoying the beautiful weather outside.
00:00:10.800Just moments ago, the United States ramping up the powerful airstrikes against Iran.
00:00:16.320Once again, the latest military strikes come in retaliation for the Iranian attack vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
00:00:22.820Earlier this afternoon, Tehran struck three ships, including a Qatari natural gas vessel.
00:00:28.460The U.S. called Iran's attacks on the commercial vessel transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, a clear violation to that ceasefire.
00:00:36.940The Central Command released the following statement, saying they've begun launching a series of powerful strikes against Iran to impose heavy costs for targeting and attacking commercial shipping crews who are innocent civilians in international waterway.
00:00:52.600The U.S. strikes are in response to Iranian attacks on those three commercial vessels.
00:00:58.040Iran's demonstrated aggression was unwarranted, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire.
00:01:04.420According to Axios, a senior American official told them that the targets were attacked,
00:01:09.700including Iranian air defense systems, coastal surveillance systems, and ground-to-air missiles,
00:01:15.040launch sites for anti-ship cruise missiles, drone launch sites, and Iranian port facilities.
00:01:45.260I don't want him to waste his time answering that question because we're working very closely with Marco Rubio, very famous man, great secretary of state and with Scott Bessett and with Pete and everybody else.
00:02:00.840We're going to be taking the sanctions off.
00:02:42.920President Trump also expressing a great deal of frustrations with NATO, even going as far as saying he may consider removing some troops from Europe.
00:02:53.120He hasn't been happy with NATO since the start of the scuffle over in Iran and Europe completely taking a hands-off approach when we really need them the most.
00:03:01.920Take a listen to President Trump and his scathing remarks on NATO.
00:03:05.700Are further troop drawdowns in Europe likely? And are you satisfied with the progress that NATO allies have made?
00:03:10.560Well, we're going to see. I was very disappointed with NATO.
00:03:13.820And frankly, if it weren't held in Turkey, where my friend happens to be a very strong leader, a very strong person,
00:03:23.440it's possible that I wouldn't have attended.
00:03:27.180I felt I had to attend because of the fact that, you know, I know he's gone all out.
00:03:31.940It was a big thing to have NATO come to Turkey or any place else. It's a big thing.
00:03:35.880but we weren't treated well because we did something in iran we don't need anybody's help
00:03:42.520i didn't even want the help but before i asked they said they wouldn't be there and
00:03:48.720we've invested trillions of dollars in nato why to protect european countries and
00:03:56.620others canada etc but to protect people countries from generally speaking it used to be the soviet
00:04:04.660Union. Now it's Russia. And I say that's fine. But you would think that they'd be very willing to
00:04:13.080do something to help us. And they really weren't. In the case of the United Kingdom,
00:04:19.840the prime minister, I guess he's no longer there. Maybe because of this. It was a very
00:04:24.400unpopular thing he did. He said, no, we'll help after the war is over. I said, I don't need that
00:04:30.640kind of help we didn't need any help at all and in a way i was testing people i was testing to
00:04:35.960see whether or not they'd be there because i've long said that we helped them but i'm not sure
00:04:40.480that they'd be there for us and italy turned us down and germany turned us down and france turned
00:04:46.140us down and it's okay but you know why are we spending hundreds of billions of dollars
00:04:53.740and they're not there for us we've always been there for them we've been there for them but
00:04:58.880they haven't been there for us. Folks, please be sure to join us
00:05:01.000tonight and each and every night for The Great America Show.
