The John-Henry Westen Show - Abp. Viganò reprimands Vatican for closing seminary over Communion on the tongue

00:00:00.040 Welcome to this episode of the John Henry Weston Show.

00:00:03.140 Despite insanity coming from Rome and elsewhere in the Church,

00:00:06.720 hope continues as brave prelates have openly chastised and challenged their brother bishops.

00:00:12.920 With Pope Francis' Vatican showing its hand on the matter of denying the faithful Holy Communion on the tongue,

00:00:19.260 Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano has released a scathing warning.

00:00:22.940 And in the face of the UK bishops' insistence that Catholics have a duty to take a vaccine for coronavirus,

00:00:31.240 even when tainted with abortion,

00:00:33.440 US Bishop Joseph Strickland has reiterated that Catholics must reject any vaccine that is developed using aborted children.

00:01:12.480 And let's begin as we always do with the Son of the Cross.

00:01:15.480 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

00:01:19.360 San Rafael, Argentina, Bishop Eduardo Taussig has announced the upcoming closure of the nation's only Orthodox Catholic seminary

00:01:30.320 because the rector and other priests associated with the seminary would not refuse seminarians

00:01:36.600 and other faithful Holy Communion kneeling and on the tongue.

00:01:40.700 As LifeSite correspondent Dorothy Cummings-McLean reports,

00:01:43.620 Contrary to Church teaching, Bishop Taussig has demanded priests refuse to administer Holy Communion to the faithful

00:01:51.100 who do not wish to receive our Lord in their unconsecrated hands.

00:01:56.820 Rather, those faithful wish to receive our Lord, as is their right, on the tongue.

00:02:02.900 The diocese announced that the seminary is being closed by order of the Pope's Congregation for Clergy.

00:02:08.880 Fr. José Antonio Alvarez said in a statement from the Diocese, and I quote,

00:02:16.100 In accordance with the instructions from the Holy See, it has been decided to close the seminary.

00:02:21.840 End quote.

00:02:22.840 The priest continued speaking for the Diocese, quote,

00:02:27.160 That Father Alvarez, of course, was talking about

00:02:54.500 A source known to LifeSite News told a reporter that there were 40 good and well-formed seminarians

00:03:06.840 who are now unsure of what they will do.

00:03:09.720 He called the closing of the San Rafael Seminary a, quote,

00:03:12.780 Real disaster, as he believes it to be the, quote,

00:03:16.180 Last really Catholic seminary in Catholic Argentina.

00:03:21.120 Bishop Taussig, the descendant of Czech immigrants to Argentina,

00:03:25.000 was appointed the Bishop of San Rafael by St. John Paul II in 2004.

00:03:30.820 He was co-consecrated by the primate of Argentina at the time,

00:03:35.120 Cardinal Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio, who of course is now known as Pope Francis,

00:03:41.140 and a number of other bishops as well.

00:03:42.860 Reacting to the ruling with an open letter to Bishop Taussig,

00:03:47.940 Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, with biting sarcasm, wrote this, quote,

00:03:53.260 This decision is said to have been adopted at your zealous insistence by the congregation

00:03:59.060 for the clergy, which considered inadmissible the refusal on the part of clerics under your

00:04:05.940 jurisdiction to administer and receive the Most Holy Eucharist on the hand rather than

00:04:11.140 on the tongue. Archbishop Vigano continued, and I quote,

00:04:15.160 I imagine that the laudable and coherent behavior of the priests, clerics, and faithful

00:04:21.580 of San Rafael offered you an excellent excuse to close the largest seminary in Argentina

00:04:28.100 and to disperse the seminarians in order to re-educate them elsewhere in seminaries that

00:04:34.160 are so exemplary that now they are empty, end quote.

00:04:39.980 Calling out Bishop Taussig as a modernist, Archbishop Vigano continued, quote,

00:04:45.280 I can understand your disappointment in seeing that, despite the relentless work of ultra-modernist

00:04:53.160 indoctrination that has been carried out in the past few decades, there are still courageous

00:04:58.260 priests and clerics who do not place the obeisance of the Episcopal court ahead of the respect

00:05:05.260 that is owed to the Blessed Sacrament. And I can imagine your vexation in seeing that the

00:05:11.160 lay, faithful, and even entire families are following the good shepherds of whom the gospel

00:05:16.520 says the sheep recognize his voice, and not the mercenaries who have no concern for the

00:05:22.180 sheep, end quote.

00:05:23.400 Pointing out that Bishop Taussig's chosen coat of arms uses the moniker paternal and fraternal

00:05:30.840 charity, Archbishop Vigano reprimands him, saying, quote, I see nothing paternal about punishing

00:05:37.740 priests who do not want to profane the sacred host nor any form of true charity towards those

00:05:44.560 who have disobeyed an inadmissible order. Charity, he said, is exercised in service of the good

00:05:51.560 and true. If it has error as its origin and evil as its end, it can only be a grotesque

00:05:59.800 parody of the virtue. A bishop who, instead of defending the honor owed to the King of Kings

00:06:05.440 and praising those who strive for this noble purpose, even goes so far as to close a flourishing

00:06:12.200 seminary and to publicly reprimand his clerics, is not performing an act of charity, but rather

00:06:18.840 a deplorable abuse for which he will be called to respond before the judgment seat of God,

00:06:26.040 end quote. Archbishop Vigano ends his letter saying, and I quote, together with the clerics and

00:06:32.940 laity of your diocese, whom you have unjustly punished and seriously offended, I pray for you,

00:06:39.640 your excellency, for the officials of the Holy See. And he added, quote, we pray for your conversion,

00:06:47.840 a conversion to which we are all called, but that should no longer be deferred by those who are

00:06:53.080 working not for the glory of God, but against the good of souls and the honor of the church.

00:06:58.400 Let us all pray, he said, for the seminarians and faithful of St. Raphael, on whom you,

00:07:04.380 your excellency, have declared war. Be sure to go to LifeSiteNews.com for his full letter

00:07:10.440 contained in the report from LifeSiteNews' Dr. Micah Hickson. Meanwhile, LifeSiteNews' London

00:07:17.340 correspondent Paul Smeaton reports that in the United Kingdom, the Bishops' Conference of England

00:07:22.860 and Wales have stated that Catholics, quote, have a duty to be vaccinated, end quote, even if the shots

00:07:30.260 are made using aborted babies. And here's a quote from the bishop's letter. The Catholic Church strongly 0.83

00:07:37.740 supports vaccination and regards Catholics as having a prima facie duty to be vaccinated, not only for

00:07:44.520 the sake of their own health, but also out of solidarity with others, especially the most vulnerable,

00:07:49.540 end quote. The letter, which was released on Thursday, July 30th, says further, quote,

00:07:55.400 quote, we believe that there is a moral obligation to guarantee the vaccination coverage necessary for

00:08:01.920 the safety of others. This is especially important for the discovery of a vaccine against COVID-19.

00:08:09.060 While the letter notes that the church, and I quote, that the church is opposed to the production of

00:08:14.420 vaccines using tissue derived from aborted fetuses, end quote, it also states that, quote, the church

00:08:20.860 teaches that the paramount importance of the health of a child and of other vulnerable persons could

00:08:26.500 permit parents to use a vaccine which was in the past developed using these diploid cell lines.

00:08:33.220 The bishops then briefly mentioned the 2005 Political Academy for Life document,

00:08:38.660 Moral Reflections on Vaccines Prepared from Cells Derived from Aborted Human Fetuses,

00:08:43.100 before quoting a separate 2017 Pontifical Academy for Life statement, which asserts that, quote,

00:08:49.300 all clinically recommended vaccinations can be used with a clear conscience and that the use of

00:08:55.100 such vaccines does not signify some sort of cooperation with voluntary abortion, end quote.

00:09:00.800 Well, the responses from faithful Catholics have been very clear. UK Catholic Deacon Nick Donnelly

00:09:09.220 spoke with church militants saying, quote, one of the cell lines being exploited in the production of

00:09:15.000 the COVID-19 vaccine at Oxford University is from a healthy baby girl murdered through abortion in 0.98

00:09:22.300 1972 in the Netherlands. He continued, this is Deacon Nick Donnelly, continued, her kidney cells were

00:09:30.900 harvested for medical research and given the dehumanizing label HEK-293. She'd probably be a 40-year-old

00:09:39.500 mother with her own family by now, Deacon Donnelly said. I don't know how the CBCEW, that's the

00:09:47.440 Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, he continued, can say it's okay for Catholics to use

00:09:53.580 vaccines incorporating cell lines from babies murdered through abortion. Deacon Donnelly said,

00:10:00.260 instead, the bishops are saying not only is it morally permissible to benefit from her murder through

00:10:06.300 abortion, but that it's a moral obligation for the greater good. Also, in an open letter published

00:10:13.740 in May, Catholic clergy and laity led by former papal nuncio to the United States Archbishop Carlo

00:10:20.180 Maria Vigano and Cardinals Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Joseph Zen and Janis Pusatz said that, quote,

00:10:27.360 for Catholics it is morally unacceptable to develop or use vaccines derived from material from aborted

00:10:35.560 fetuses. Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, reiterated just recently his opposition to vaccines

00:10:44.600 created using cell lines from aborted babies. He said, and I quote, I renew my call that we reject any

00:10:51.500 vaccine that is developed using aborted children. And this tweet, of course, came right after the UK

00:10:57.780 bishops said it was a duty for Catholics to get such a vaccine. And Bishop Strickland continued, quote,

00:11:05.160 even if it originated decades ago, it still means a child life, a child's life was ended before it was

00:11:12.440 born. And then their body was used as spare parts. We will never end abortion if we do not end this 0.79

00:11:20.480 evil. And those are real bishops. Thank you for joining me for this episode of the John Henry Weston
